The struggle continued. The pain was still unbearable, Charles's last strength was being placed on preventing Chaoskimeramon from forfilling it's goal of coming. But he was loosing that war. Soon, there might be no more Charles, just another of Chaoskimeramon's hateful and angry souls...but something happned. Chaoskimeramon sensed a different power, one that the beast feared: the cloak was finnaly getting closer, probably brought by Karin or her partner. Chaoskimeramon forced Nightspellmon into retreating slowly behind the statue, spitting fire in various directions in several growls.
But Charles wasn't alone in this fight. Nightspellmon wasn't about to gibe up control so easily. He couldn't use love to control Chaoskimeramon. He despised love. Such a pesky thing, a fool's downfall, slayer of kings, eraser of name's and achievements...the world would be a better place without such blind feelings. But Chaoskimeramon was afraid. Afraid of Mana and the claim for their potential to restore Charles's control. Fear was something Nightspellmon could use. Use it to force Chaoskimeramon into making mistakes.
"**C'mon, you lousy beast! You can't beat me on my own body! How east would it be, however to control something as accepting as Replimon, huh? A robot ready to be filled by you...and just imagine his power..." Nightspellmon's voice said between the growls, proving the ghost had more control over himself than he showed. However, many wouldn't know the being was wasting almost all his energy by saying anything. The taunt seemed to work however... Chaoskimeramon wasn't stupid, but it wasn't all that bright either. "Dlide Evolution!"
The digimon reverted to Replimon, under perfect control of Chaoskimeramon...but still, the will of Nightspellmon and Charles combined prevented the being from releasing it's potential and and evolving onto it's own body. Still, time was running out: They needs the cloak quickly. The slightest grasp would do...but if they didn't get it , Chaoskimeramon would win.

Truth was, that Ayaka was already pointing a crystalline arrow at Nightspellmon's body just in case he decided to try and impale more innocent people on the street. Those feral movements made it really easier to aim to him, yet Karin needed a confirmation to send Jeanne in. Resting for a second.
From: Tsumura Mana <Ayaka> To: Takamiya Karin <Karin> Subject: Target marked
Send in Jeanne when you wish. I already have Nightspellmon in my sights. Wait a moment, now he devolved. He's Replimon now. Be careful, even if he's way weaker than Nightspellmon, he has some mean tricks up to his sleeve.
So that happened. Now, Replimon stood where Nightspellmon previously had for some reason the fairy couldn't understand. The digimon seemed to be more feral with each passing second, but the fairy trusted that the cape would be enough to return the boy the control he exerted to his spirits. This whole situation was funny, on a creepy kind of way. Nightspellmon had sought to unleash Chaoskimeramon, even threatening both she and Mana with Charles' welfare if they didn't succeed, yet now... he was the one struggling to remain into control. Karma worked on funny ways indeed.
Still, they didn't have much time left. The people had begun to panic at the police officer's apparent death, and more police officers were soon to come, either to investigate or to deal with the culprit. And so, if they actually saved Charles... wouldn't he be imprisoned for the things he had done?

"Ukh, honestly...this is getting harder second by second... Jeanne, take off your holosuit in place where there won't be onlookers. Come with me."
Karin leads her partner to a small alley to take off her disguising object. She handed it to Karin, who quickly stored it on her bag. Not really something she's comfortable without around... but the angel have no choice. She immediately flies off to the direction of where Replimon is with the cloak. This must be done quickly. The angel's eyes glinted with determination to stop it right here. However, from what she gathered, the Digimon is deathly afraid of the cloak. She encircled Replimon in really fast speed, awaiting the right moment to strike with the cloak.
"...I never thought it will descend this fast, Charles... let's just end this before something worse happened."
The minor angel digimon readies her sword, planning to hit with the body if needed to not harm Charles, and merely just to knock him unconscious. But she doubt that going to happen soon if the guy is a Digimon. Meanwhile, Karin ran to where Ayaka is, hoping that the distraction is well enough. The thing is, she have no idea that this Digimon is Ayaka or not, but after seeing Mana's state...
"Ayaka, freeze him!"

It should be over. Everything, Charles's mind, troubles, will...none of them should exist anymore. By that point, they should have been buried beneath anger, fear, pain and hatred. Yet, somehow they were still there, so small, yet so resistant to Chaoskimeramon. It was frustrating, for both sides, that none gave, despite Chaoskimeramon's obvious advantage in the conflict. Ayaka had Mana with her, both of them still away from his sight.
Replimon punched the air a few times, Chaoskimeramon making use of the body. It then began to punch all around itself, breaking parts of the floor and deeply marking the trees, torning apart the benches annd scaring the people that were nearby. Replimon then roared up to the sky, filled with joy by Chaoskimeramon's lust for destruction.
Upon sensing the coming of another digimon, the first instinct Chaoskimeramon found in that body was to replicate.
"Sequence Replica!" He shouted, each of his mechanical arms grabbing another. A conflux of new arms grew in Replimon's back, so many they deleted each other until there was eight left, plus a small cloud of raw data flying up in the air. Upon seeing Heanne with the cape, the spirit backed again, growling. "Pain Traders!"
A wave of green dates flew towards Jeanne. She'd feel the pain...even if Replimon was hit, she'd be a victim of her and Ayaka's attacks too, even if only partially. Replimon roared again, towards Jeanne's position. Chaoskimeramon felt the spark of hope that the other spirit's and Charles felt about the enclosing presence of the cloak. With it Chaoskimeramon would be in check, back into it's imprisonment deep within Charles.

So that was it, Jeanne was currently running towards Charles, cloak in hand she was aiming for a concussive strike, it seemed. Replimon, in its stead, looked like he was ready to fight, already sprouting arms and preparing attacks as Jeanne rushed towards him. But Ayaka was also prepared. Before preparing her attack, she had changed her current season into winter, as to line the perfect shot.
Drawing the string of her bow, three arrows formed themselves into it as she aimed towards Replimon. Waiting for the perfect moment to strike, it came just when Karin came, opportunely when she shouted 'freeze him!' Immediately, the three arrows sailed towards replimon, each one aiming at the different part of him. She knew how the mon fought, and that maybe he'd try to use his shield thing to actually reflect the attack back at her, even if that would prove to be unneffective due to its nature, but even having that into account, she aimed the arrows in a way that his entire shield's body wouldn't be able to caught the full barrage, or even more than one arrow at the same time, and that was if he reacted in enough time to the attack. Who knew if it succeded or not.
"Karin-san" she finally said "I will jump down to help Jeanne-san. Please take good care of miss Mana. She... witnessed it and probably will need you once she wakes up. Would you please stay by her when she open her eyes? She is going to need a good friend to get over that".

Seeing how the spirit tried to attack her, Jeanne flies up. Pain Trader seem to be a debuff that would basically give her the brunt pain of her own attack or changing damages. Jeanne doesn't want to risk anything and just simply flies around Replimon, waiting for the correct moment to jump with the cloak. She traded her sword for staff and send it to Replimon's head, with blunt end that would hit, obviously. Hit or not, she won't care. She'll summon it back once it's determined it's hit or miss. She'll just keep moving for the meantime, making sure that Replimon's strange arms won't touch her.
Meanwhile, Karin nodded to Ayaka's words and moved to cover Mana. She uses her shop bags for pillow for the unconscious girl. Karin pitied her current situation. Honestly, if it came to this... no matter how good Charles is, no matter how great he is... she's not willing to let Mana get too involved in this. She'll ask Mana to break up with him. it's not for someone who's mentally fragile like Mana... She can help, but she's not willing to put her sister in danger like this... not to mention...
If something like this happened, Mana would probably lost her life.

Replimon unleashed an angry growl as Jeanne managed to dodge his attack. That was NOT how it was supposed to be! She should feel his pain! Chaoskimeramon's pain! The machine stomped his feet and punched the ground as some kind of raging monkey would do. Yet, as another distunring sound was heard, he turned his head.
Three arrows were flying at high speds towards Replimon. The digimon would not have it. He needed to avoid those shots, it would be impossible to dfwlct them all...Chaoskimeramon was willing to try, however. In rage, the possessed Replimon began charging towards the place where the arrows had been shot from, raising his shield and avoiding Jeanne's launched weapon.
"Ghost Mirror!" Replimon shouted. The arrows were far part, the effort put into it was clear, but that didn't stop Replimon from laughing away maliciously as two arrows entered the shield together before exiting in the opposite direction, towards their first owner.
Replimon fell. Something was wrong. Looking down, Replimon's laughter stopped, as it saws his legs beggining to freeze. Turns out he had forgotten one of the arrows, and he was now paying the price for it, as it had been too far away from the others to be absorbed and reflected by the attack. Desperate, the possessed digimon attempted to punch itself to break the ice, but it just kept regrowing. Replimon's angry growls were reduced to puppy-like wimpers as he entendre his arms towards Jeanne, as if Replimon was a dog, beging for mercy.
And then, the freezing was finished. From his feet to his head and to each one of his arms, all of Replimon was frozen. Inside, Nightspellmon was laughing to himself, knwoing if Chaoskiermaon had used HIS body instead, they'd likely have escaped and Chaoskiemramon would indeed have been unleashed.

Her plan had been apparently succesful, or so had Ayaka seen as one of her arrows impacted Replimon. She didn't even bother to move down or to try to avoid the arrows, as she knew the effect they had like the palm of her hand. "Better tell to Jeanne to give that cape as soon as she can, Karin-san" she said as her own arrows impacted her harmlessly. To be honest with herself, this was the perfect technique to fight against Replimon, as arrows had some mild kind of senitence, or maybe her intent embedded into them. Whatever it was, when they impacted something she saw as an ally, they just dissolved into that being's skin, purifying any harmful agents that'd be in her body currently.
"Also, from this day on, I will do my best to keep them apart; this just cannot go on, Karin-san. I will change his cellphone number; she is forgetful with details, so she will just think that he is not answering instead of suspecting about the change. I do not care if miss Mana sees me as a monster from now on, because I know that it is for her safety. As soon as I get Charles-san to a safe enough place as a final favor, I am getting Mana out of here, with the intent of having her never see him again. I hope you can understand that, but I you decide to tell either to either miss Mana or Charles-san about my plan, I will understand. You are her friend and it is expected for you to be loyal towards her. I just wonder if It would be a greater loyalty to just keep this as a secret or not. Ultimately, it is your choice, I guess; for I cannot but weep at the tough luck that miss Mana is having in the search of her special someone. Hopefully the third try will be the lucky one, or at least that much I hope".

"We're on that together, Ayaka... we're on that together... I don't... like what I saw, honestly. While my alignment is to Mana, I want to have a say in this. Mana and her hysterical moments, you don't have to say anything about that. She's too fragile. As much determined she is, she's still a little girl that has yet tasted the world. Murder is already too much for her, and I'm not willing to let her be on line of danger. She may hate me as she wish, but this is my verdict as a sister. I'll not accept Charles Ashmore, not until he's purged out of his spirits... and his spirits totally dead. My loyalty is loyalty that doesn't care about what they thought... my loyalty is loyalty where I'll keep Mana survives."
And so, on the other direction, Jeanne quickly put the cape on frozen Replimon's head. She stared at the frozen Digimon with eyes that could be said as disgust. The Angel Digimon picked up her staff and quickly degenerated to Puttimon. Sneakily, she fled back to Karin.
"Mistress, he's done with. Please give me back the holosuit. Being this form in human world is... awkward and felt like I'm naked."

It was terrible. He felt so powerless, so helpless. The pain made ot seem like like he was being torn apart over and over again, while burning, yet he was in fact frozen, unable to run, to scream, to roar in pain. Was that how Chaoskimeramon felt all the time, trapped inside him?
As Jeanna placed the cloak over Replimon's head, the pain began to slowly vanish. As if taking the cue, the ice began melting as well, and soon Replimon was free from the ice. In that moment, fractal enveloped him, but left just a quickly, leaving Charles on his knees, shaking. Back in his human body with control, the boy was only really getting hit by the impact of what he did now, despite being aware of his actions before, nomatter of he couldn't control or stop himself.
With difficulty, he stood, eyes widened in shock. The street was empty now, everyone has left in shock, horror and panic. Charles turned a bit a looked at the bloody corpse he had just left behind. Slowly, sliently, he walked towards it, like a body walking without a soul. He stoped right in front of the dead body. He looked at his own shaking hands, imagining the blood and the man's guts spread in them, guilt stronger in him than ever before. What did he do? What would he do? Certainly, a whole squadron of them was coming, ready to what it took to arrest him. If didn't resist, they wouldn't believe him, they would take the cloak away, things would be terrible for anyone near him. Yet, if escaped , his fate was so uncertain. Things could get better...or worse.
Finnaly, he reached a decision. He bent down and searched the man, looking a for a wallet, an identification card, anything that could help him find out who his victim was. But wasn't he himself the victim? Or Mana? He managed to find something, and pulled it out. It turned out to be the man's wallet, which Charles opened. Inside, was a picture of the man's family, a wife and the man's own parents. Those poor people, Charles wanted to stab himself fir what he did on that day.
Shoving the photo on his pocket, Charles turned. He waved to Karin and Jeanne, hoping they would get he needed to talk to them. He also walked in their direction, so they wouldn't have to talk with the deceased right next to them.

Ayaka nodded at Karin's reasoning, glad that they both were on the same page. Yet, Charles, seemingly still traumatized because of the experience, didn't seem to grasp the severity of the situation, as he just walked towards the dead officer and rummaged through his possessions, searching for something, and right after, just waved at the pair, as if wanting to talk. Truth was, that if they didn't leave the place soon...
Sirens were began to be heard in the distance. It had been obvious that someone would call the police after this had happened. Without saying much more. Ayaka lifted her partner from the ground with ease, directing some final words at Karin. "You should retrieve Jeanne right now and leave. I will understand if you want to follow us to miss Mana's home to check if she is alright once she wakes up, but I have some business left unattended. Excuse me".
She ran towards where Charles was, giving out her sentence. It was harsh, but necessary. Mana's safety was first in the fairy's mind. "Listen to me, Charles-san. I do not care about your opinion on the matter, but if you still have a sliver appreciation towards miss Mana, you will exit from her life in this very moment. I will not heed excuses of any kind, but this just cannot continue. You had just compromised her mental health, and if you ever make such an attempt towards her, you will not get words from me. Goodbye".
And so, she began moving again as the sirens became louder and louder. She had to exit the place soon or probably the officers would interrogate her, and that'd be just to much for the girl to bear. For her safety, she had to get away. exit(Thread);

Karin quickly scooped up Puttimon and put on her holosuit device back to her . The Digimon jumped off from her and quickly assumed back her human disguise, although with very simple clothing currently due to her former clothing is with Karin. Charles waved at them, but Karin sighed and walked away. Jeanne looked at him momentarily before flipping her french braid, her mouth moves, but unless Charles have a good vision and could read lips movement, most likely he wouldn't know.
"Goodbye, Charles Ashmore. May we meet in much more favorable situation, or I'll have to brace myself to fight you" was what she told the boy. As for Karin herself... she's truly heartless, isn't she? She's surprised how much she felt NOTHING to break their relationship, although it's not Charles' fault at all... it's his spirit's fault, yet still, she's not willing to give him second choice as long as he's still contracted with his spirits.
Takamiya Karin... are you the just one? Or are you the selfish one? Is this a loyalty? Or are you actually backstabbing Mana and simply forces your ideal at her? Is that loyalty or is that selfishness? Is that caring, or is that actually just a way to make yourself thinks that you care about her? ...I don't know, I really don't know... I'm such a scum, aren't I? To feel nothing in time like this... but I think... I guess it's because I'm used to it...
One more betrayal won't hurt my conscience, not at all... yet, what is this feeling of void?
Despite taking different route, Karin's destination is clear. To follow Ayaka soon after.

Karin wouldn't even speak to him. Charles concluded she was too shocked, his actions beyond her capacity to forgive. Maybe it was beyond Charles's own capacity to forgive himself even. How could he ask anyone to forgive him, anyway. He just murdered someone. A good person, it seemed, trying to do his job, yet Charles couldn't stop it, Chaoskimeramon used him to destroy a life, but he couldn't blame the beast for being what it was. He could only blame himself for not taking more caution.
Ayaka, on the other hand, did come to speak to him, yet what she said wasn't good news. He didn't expect it anyway. He nodded in agreement, but spoke before she left.
"Ayaka! Wait, I must tell you something. You're right, my spirits are far too dangerous, I'd say not just for Mana, but for the human world as well. I will try to settle things around me one last time, no contact with anyone if possible, before I go to the digital world and spend there whatever days I may have left. I can precise more than that, but I will promise that I will only be in the human world for a litle I'll go to the digital world to stay. So, I'd advise you to take Mana to the digital world for a few weeks or so, just to guarantee she doesn't run into me." Charles told Ayaka. He drew his device, the police sirens were close. A strain of fractal code appeared in his hand. There was one spirit he arledy knew how to use without going too nuts. "Sprite Spirit Evolution!"
Turned into Steamdramon, Charles took one last look at the girl he loved and her partner before taking of running away, hoping they'd make it away from the police too.
