Muffled swearing could be heard from the garage off the main roads near the scramble. A pair of thick legs poking out under a jacked up car as a hand groped for something nearby. The hand brushed over the cold metal of a wrench before quickly seizing the item and retreating under the vehicle. The shop was soon filled with the sounds of work, metal scraping and twisting as the man under the car got to work.
The garage was larger than most people thought. A main reception led to the workshop which could house several vehicles, but this late at night with just the head mechanic, it only had the Humvee he was working on and a tarpaulin covered bike which seemed larger than it ought to be. A door leading out the back led to another room, this one dimly lit and showing a large metallic ring of some kind. Maybe some work of art?
There was a dull squeal as the man rolled out from under the vehicle, oil stains drying on his uniform. He was a pretty big guy, towering over most people, and his muscular body made most stay back. He glances down at his uniform and sighs. "Dammit." He complained, making his way to the reception desk after a quick glance around the garage. He couldn't see anyone outside and pulled out a few important items from his pocket, setting them on the reception desk besides two stuffed animals. There wasn't much. A set of keys, a mobile phone, and an odd device few regular people would recognise. There had been very few D-arcs made, and he doubted anyone would recognise it.
"Gonna change. Keep an eye out." The man muttered, brushing his spiked hair back as he made his way out the back to get his regular clothes. It didn't take him long to stuff his overalls away, the man grateful of the fact that his time off was about to begin. He soon slipped into his regular clothing. Jeans, steel toe cap boots. A long-sleeved white undershirt, and an unbuttoned black over shirt.
Out in the reception, there was an odd hissing noise. "Psst."
Silence.
"Psst"
"Belph, shut up and act like a toy." Complained a gruff voice on the desk quietly.
"But Leo...." Came the softer of the two voices. "Josh forgot to lock the door"

Scramble Crossing was always a fun place to observe. Though he didn’t have much in the way of disguise, the true fun was hiding in plain sight and testing his skills so no one could spot him. The eastern dragon rookie wasn’t all that big and rather long like a snake. His bulky build didn’t allow him to hide behind much stuff. His flight however, gave him an advantage. All he had to do was go up the walls on the off chance someone spotted him. Zephyr watched the crowded streets, humans going about their day and some of the kids with their parents. The last time he got spotted, it was by some poor pudgy kid with glasses that managed to see him clinging near the side of a building. He called out to his mom constantly, but she looked so self absorbed into her phone.
Today, nothing like that happened. It was, dare he say it, kind of boring. The eastern dragon grumbled as he climbed across the building, hidden in the darkness of the alleyway before perching himself on the roof.
“Hmmm. Maybe I should go back to the Digital World…Much as I like it here, it’s kinda tame.” Zephyr muttered with a frown. He reached into his mane and pulled out a fresh apple from one of his horns. He slowly bit into it and chewed before taking a big gulp. The benefits of being part plant meant making your own food was incredibly easy sometimes, no matter how morbid it looked. With a sigh, the eastern dragon took to the skies to find another place to spy around at. Zephyr cut through the city blocks with ease before something caught his attention.
He sniffed the air, the smell of concrete, gas and the stench of human assaulting him at first before he filtered it out. Living in the human world for quite a while let him ignore some of the…fouler smells and focus on the ones he was curious about. If he wasn’t mistaken, he could smell something incredibly foul like gas and a digimon. Or maybe two, the scent was getting on his nerves. Either way, he found something!
“Now, let’s see who the lucky winner is.”
Zephyr’s travels brought him toward a large garage placed right outside the ruckus that was the Scramble Crossing, kind of quaint. The place itself reeked of gas, exhume and a few other things that would have made any other plant crawl up and die. Thankfully for him and being a dragon, he was mostly fine with it. Regardless, he scrunched his nose as he descended toward the open garage door. The place seemed empty, but the strewn tools, the half wrecked car parts along with the stuff on the table told him that whoever was here probably stepped out. Green and yellow eyes scanned around the area, coming upon a few usual human stuff and an odd looking digivice in the middle of the stuff. It was in the shape of an arc and two toned and right in the open.
“if that’s here, where’s the poor sap of a partner? Oh, woops. Why do they always have you guys acting like stuffed animals?” Zephyr glanced to the side, taking notice of the company. The twin Tsunomon were sitting right near the mess of stuff on the table were probably staring at him like he was crazy considering he just stumbled right on in.
“Sorry ‘bout that, couldn’t help sticking my head in here. Plus that lil’ thing got my attention the most.” the rookie chuckled, glancing over toward the black and red digivice again.

Both of the tsunomon glanced at each other, surprised to see another digimon, although they didn't recognise the species. "Well, It got boring pretending to be a human a while back. And most humans just see what they want to see." The slightly larger Tsunomon on the right proclaimed. "More to the point, where's your tamer?" He asked, rather curious, the small digimon hopping closer for a better look.
The smaller tsunomon shifted himself, sitting on that digivice. He wasn't too sure of the motives of this green draconic digimon, but he wasn't going to just sit around and wait for him to steal Josh's D-arc. "Well, if you want to see it, you should wait for our tamer. We've had people try to steal it in the past. I hope you don't mind." He asked politely.
"You didn't need to say that belph..." Groaned the larger tsunomon.
Josh meanwhile was just finishing changing when he heard voices from the front of reception. He listened for a moment before looking thoughtful. Most of his old friends from gattai no longer visited, and he doubted his digimon would speak to anyone other than a digimon, or one with a tamer. They would easily know that the two were not toys.
Though lacking in their old power, the two were a good team, and he didn't doubt they could handle themselves. Even so, he made his way into the room, his eyes drifting from left to right, looking for any trouble before settling on the small dragon. "Well..... I wasn't expecting company." He smiled. "Not often I see a tamerless digimon in shibuya." He pointed out, noting the lack of people glancing into the room, and lack of fear on the rookie's face.

Oh, it seemed the twins were rather brash and kind of knew the up and up. Zephyr didn’t so much as glance at them as he did the device that was near them. He’d seen quite a few before, but one of that shape was new to the eastern dragon rookie. Considering he couldn’t get to it what with the two guards there, he had no choice but to wait around for the time being. However, that didn’t stop him from hovering around the table and the twin Tsunomon curiously. One of them asked where his tamer was, while the slightly larger one asked that he not touch it considering people have tried to steal it a lot in the past.
"Got it, got it. Don't wanna take it anyways, just wanna look."
He wouldn’t blame them either considering the thing did look very different. They said he couldn’t touch, but he still looked. Something caught his attention on the side of it. A thin slot was on the side of the device, almost resembling a slot for cards. Maybe it was part of that function he’d gotten a while back? As a Gaomon, the eastern dragon decided to give himself an upgrade with a deck of cards he kept on his person. They provided a few boosts as well as weapons and that sort of stuff. He figured whoever made them had a way for humans to use it as well.
But it seemed he didn’t have to wait long. Right after his minor hovering time, the human arrived. He was dressed in a black shirt that showed off the white one underneath, some baggy jeans with boots. Zephyr eyed the male up and down and blinked a bit. He was a bit…different. Maybe it was the build? The guy did look like he lifted a lot so he carried a bit of a presence. Zephyr couldn’t stop staring at the clothed, bulky human for a few moments before he realized that he was being talked to.
“Huh,wha? Um, yeah. Just a traveler is all.” It wasn’t exactly a lie, he did tend to travel here a lot.

Josh leaned over the small dragon, studying him closely. "Well, you are an interesting one." He muttered, before lifting the tsunomon known as Belph off of the D-arc. He held it out for the dragon to look over. "Its been a long time since I've used it, but this is the original of this type of digivice. We had to get it made in an old temple in the digital world." The man said, watching the dragon's expression. "And yet, you know exactly what it is. Correct?" Josh asked, leaning back.
He glanced over at the larger tsunomon, who seemed lost in thought. A frown crossed his face as something occurred to him. "We'll be heading home soon. Would you like to join us for supper?" He asked cautiously. Belph was busy hopping into the large bag josh had set down on the floor, glancing up at his bigger brother. Josh lifted the daydreaming Leo off and set him next to his brother before zipping the bag up.
"Say yes! We're having ramen tonight and Josh cooks good." Belph piped up from the bag as Josh lifted it in one hand. "He's not having any of mine!" Growled Leo. Josh rolled his eyes at the argument erupting in his rucksack before looking at the small dragon. "Coming?" He asked, holding the door open.

Old Temple? That sounded so appropriate for something that looked kind of old. The thing had a few scuff marks here and there as well as the dark colors being rather dull along with the red ring and strap being worn. It was probably used a lot which is why it looked so shoddy. Zephyr glanced at the device, then back to its owner for a moment. The guy seemed he knew his way around the park, judging from the way he spoke and how his partners acted. Though he would have expected them to be a bit…bigger? One of the Tsunomon was abnormally big, but other than that, there wasn’t much in the way of appearance unless the human was the major factor when it came to intimidation.
“Kind of, yeah. There’s a shop in the Digital World that sells something like those. Really expensive, though.” He shrugged his shoulders.
He stared at the trio of human and digimon and scowled a bit. There was a pang of jealousy, but it faded quickly. From the way they talked, they were pretty close, the lucky bastards. At the mention of being offered dinner, Zephyr blinked a bit. That…was one of the rare times someone he barely knew decided to invite him over for well, anything. He wasn’t one to turn down food, but just the casual extending of the offer caught him off guard. The twin Tsunomon argued over their portions, but they didn’t need to worry about that.
“U-uh…yeah, sure. I don’t mind. I’ll just follow from the sky.” He added, floating behind shortly after. “Josh, right?”

Josh nodded. It seemed like the rookie was a decent kid, and knowing shibuya it wasn't that easy for a lone digimon to make friends without being screamed at or challenged to a fight. "Alright, but stay out of sight if anyone comes along." He asked, locking the door and hefting the bag up onto his shoulder. He glanced up at the hovering digimon before giving a nod and walking down the street.
"Whats your name little one?" Josh asked, making sure no one was close by. "You already know I'm Josh and these two are Leo and Belph." He stayed quiet, listening to the green dragon. He knew it wasn't far to his house, and the park was usually quiet, so the two shouldn't have any problems. "Its been a long time since we were in the digital world. I'm not sure how much power these two have anymore. Used to have em all the way up to supermega, although that caused problems with belph here."
He kept quiet for a moment. It had been a long time since the incident with parisimon, but it still made his skin crawl. "I guess I haven't really had a reason to want to go back to the digital world for a few years..."

Zephyr just shrugged his shoulder at the mention of keeping hidden. Considering the garage was in a pretty lush place, someone of his abilities remaining unseen was pretty easy to him. He followed Josh as soon as he closed the place down, keeping behind and mostly quiet as he floated about to get a better sense of him. He seemed rather open, but he couldn’t get a grip on him. Zephyr was a tad nosy, but he couldn’t help it when it came to humans being oddly interesting.
As the group traveled across the small park, it seemed he was interested in some small talk. He mentioned something about being the Digital World for years as a visitor. The one thing that caught the eastern’s attention was the apparent power behind the twin Tsunomon. Considering how they carried themselves and the lack of innocence about them despite being small, he could actually believe it. Though if they were that strong, why just stay as In-training? Least as a Rookie, they could walk around and not have to act like dolls, but their choice.
“Name’s Zephyr. And I’m not a kid.” He rolled his eyes as he trailed behind the human, floating in the air. He pulled out a small berry from his mane and quickly started eating them before making his way toward Josh with a paw extended out with a few left.
“Take ‘em, they’re not bad. And I don’t think you’d wanna go back anyways. Stuff has been..chaotic, moreso than usual.”

Josh took the berries, looking closely before popping them in his mouth. "Plant type I assume?" He queried, trying to guage the rookie's form. The berries were an odd flavour, mildly bitter but palettable. Josh's house was soon in view just off the park, and he fished his keys from his pocket. "What happened? There used to be a few groups dedicated to making it a stable place for digimon and humans to live." The human asked, sounding concerned.
A quick glance down the street made him aware of one of his neighbors approaching. He gave a nod, waiting for her to pass before opening the door and letting the rookie enter behind him. He set the bag down on the floor beside him and unzipped it to let the twins out. "Urgh, it smells like gym socks in there." Leo complained, bouncing down the hall after Josh. Belph on the otherhand waited next to the rookie.
"I bet you have a bunch of questions." He said quietly. "We've been away from the digital world for so long that this is the highest form we can reach in the human world now. After what happened with Josh.... We've never felt like forcing him back."

Zephyr shrugged his shoulders. He watched Josh polish the berries down carefully and nodding a bit at his answer. It was kind of obvious that he was plant related if one took notice at the wooden like horns as well as the leaf like scales and fuzz he possessed. He continued trailing behind the human before flying about above. He mentioned something about groups seeking to protect the Digital World which caught his attention. He never heard anything like that when he was around there, so all he could do was chuckle a bit. Someone taking the burden of an entire world on their shoulders, let alone groups?
He was in the midst of answering before Josh decided to cross the street. The eastern dragon halted and turned back, only following once the coast was clear. The place was wide and big, so he had to be fast to make his way and trail him without being seen by anyone else. Compared to his standards of hopping around and calling any of the trees he laid in a place to stay, the human lived rather nicely.
Zephyr took up some residence on the nearest chair, plopping his fuzzy butt down as his tail lashed about. He watched the twin Tsunomon spill out of the duffel bag that contained them and snickered a bit. “I told ya, sucks being stuffed in a bag.”
It was then that the other Tsunomon started to explain about their lack of current knowledge. Ah, the old fashioned scarring incident that resulted in not wanting to force their partner to go back or even stress himself out about the details. The eastern dragon nodded and twirled a whisker. “Okay, makes sense. While that’s your choice, don’t exactly agree with it. One thing I wanted to mention was that there hasn’t been any sort of ‘group’ for a good while now. Some just kinda do what they want, and now there’s a few other things going on that’s making the whole world all wack. Didn’t feel like dealing with it the first time I got a glimpse so I’ve been camping out here. Kinda tempted to go back, though".

The sounds of cooking reaches Belph and Zephyr as Josh gets to work making food for the group. Belph drooled a little before remembering he had company. "Oh! err... What were we saying?" Belph asked, before shaking his head. "What do you mean there are no more groups?" He asked, tilting himself to ponder the idea. "There were a large number. Gattai was the one Josh helped to set up." He said, confused.
Leo bounced back into the room, startling his brother. "Gattai? I doubt that would still be running. Josh was in charge until he went MIA for a year. After that.... Well, the base will still be around, but its no wonder it was out of commission." The tsunomon glanced over at the dragon before hopping onto another seat. Leo briefly wondered how Vector was doing, the victorygreymon who used to guard the entrance. Josh still held his contract. "But if the digital world is that messed up, why do you want to go back?" Belph asked, eager for more information from their visitor.
"Probably for the same reason you, Leo and I want to go back." Came a voice from the doorway. Josh stood, listening to the conversation with his arms crossed, tilted so he was leaning in the door frame. "We've been debation returning for a while now. Its just never been a good time." The large tamer said. "I am due some holiday from work."

It seemed the human was a good cook and mechanic. Zephyr relaxed on the chair after providing a bit of a heads up for Josh and the two Tsunomon. Considering he was staying for the night, he was more than happy to stick around for free food that wasn’t berries or apples that he made or found a few weeks ago and manipulated to stay fresh. The eastern dragon twirled a whisker as he continued explaining. “Yeah, if there’s anyone trying to protect the world or something like, they’re kinda shitty at it. I think Termius has gotten WORSE, if that’s even possible. Guess I don’t help considering I do dine and dash a bit…” he muttered at the end.
There was a mention about a ‘Gattai’, so by logical means, he figured that was one of the groups they were talking about before. With that much info about its status, Zephyr assumed they were part of that little effort to try and make the world a better place. While they did a rather crappy job, he wasn’t willing to say it. No sense in possibly offending the people who were gonna feed you food. “Uh, yeah. Sometimes I feel homesick if I stay in one place too long. I consider both worlds ‘home’, if that makes sense. Sorry for being all cryptic, but I kinda have my reasons.” He stopped twirling one of his whiskers at that point, trying to focus on something like. The smell of food was helping with that.
At that point, the tamer came back into the room and leaned on the door frame. He even debated going back, but couldn’t find a good time. The eastern dragon shrugged his shoulders in response. “Well, I wouldn’t suggest now, but unless you wanna be a goodie-goodie and go see what’s wrong, I can’t stop ya. If anything, I’d probably feel bad if I let you go with no help.” He grunted, scratching at his foreheard and pulling something down. It was a habit of his, even in rebirth. Sadly, instead of looking cool, he probably looked silly as hell.

Josh glanced over into the kitchen. "You three take a seat. I'll be out in a min with the food ok?" He said, ducking back out of sight again. "Hope ya don't mind garlic." He called from the kitchen as the smell of the Ramen eased into the room. Belph started drooling again as Leo turns to zephyr.
"So you're willing to go with us are you?" He asked quizzically. "We don't now how long it'll take us to get back up to full strength." The small tsunomon mentioned. "What form can you reach in the digital world?" He asked curious to know more about this new digimon.
Josh meanwhile listened carefully for any signs of problems in the next room as he sorted out the ramen. It was fortunately easy to cook, and he didn't fancy leaving the three to themselves for too long. Soon, he had four bowls of steaming noodles, with sliced vegetables and diced meat mixed in. He carried them carefully into the living room and set them down, making sure he had an extra fork for zephyr who, unlike Leo and Belph, could actually eat food without faceplanting into it.

Zephyr nodded. He didn’t exactly mind going with, and he had his own reasons to go, so why not hop a ride? Besides, the three of them interested him. Though it seemed his presence got their interest in the eastern dragon himself, though he didn’t exactly blame them. When the human came back into the kitchen asking about the food, the dragon couldn’t help but drool a bit at the smell. Aside from fruits and the various foods he snuck from the human world stores, Zephyr never actually bothered to have some home cooking. As a Gaomon, the pure notion of cooking was a bitch in itself since he never liked taking them off in the first place.
“Um, last I checked, Mega, or something like that. I was looking for something in the mountains and someone decided to try and be a thief.” He grumbled. It was nothing short of hypocrisy for a thief to complain about another thief, but they didn’t know that. The eastern splayed around the chair he sat in, tail swishing around.
“Though haven’t exactly fought for a while, kinda getting used to…all this in general.” He muttered, rolling around in place before flopping along the chair again. It’d been a while since that fight and his whole shifting in general, but he still felt more like a canine than a reptile. It’d come to him at some point considering he couldn’t even understand the random nagging in his head whenever he was in the forest or the park.
And then Josh came back with the food. He emerged from the kitchen with a few bowls of steaming noodles (he’d save the joke for later) with a few other stuff mixed in, along with a fork. The dragon licked his lips, tongue slurping about as he took up the fork as easily as possible with four fingers and dug in. If it smelled good and looked good, he wasn’t gonna be one to complain.

Josh was careful to set Leo and Belph's bowls down the far end of the table to avoid being splattered as the two greedily ate. "Calm down you two, or I'll have to give you both a bath later." He complained, dodging the flying sauce as he returned to his own bowl. "Alright...Actually, I just realised you never told us your name..." Josh mulled, waiting to see if the digimon volunteered it.
"Anyway, I'll set you up some pillows and blankets so you can sleep on the couch, and in the morning, I'll gather some essentials so we can start our journey." He said, before starting on the food in front of him. He gave a quick glance to Belph and Leon who were squabbling over food before looking to the new digi and rolling his eyes with a chuckle.
It didn't take too long for the group to finish eating, and as promised, Josh brought down some blankets and pillows for the small digimon to nap with before hauling his unruly twins upstairs for a much needed and avoided bath. "Noooo!" "I don't need a bath!" "Take my brother, not meeeee." "What? You're dirtier than I am." "Am not."
Josh poked his head into the room a little later. "I'll wake you before we go, so just have a good nights sleep." The tamer stated, before heading to bed himself. It was going to be interesting, seeing how the digital world had changed in his absence,
