"...Someone... killed Jeanne's sister randomly for fun. It was... very brief moment that seem to spell thousand words that just meant like... well, he's totally doing it for fun... I'm sick of it. I'm sick of someone who would just like that harm the others for fun! Wounding is one thing... but killing!?" she angrily barked. "...I don't want that to happened to anyone again, so... sacrifice... for the sake of stopping that kind of madness, I'm fine of being a devil... but the more I think about it, the more I'm seem lost... Even her tamer seem to give up on it, too..."
It's almost as if she's been drunk, but the girl just probably unstable after holding herself for long. She's still fourteen afterall. She's not an adult. She's technically still a little girl. One cannot expect an adult in her, no matter how much she tried to fake it. She tried to fake a very strong girl, but now and then, she has broken down.
"...Then there's no need for you to keep that kind of fixation..."
"Jeanne...?"
"It's alright. I'm actually waiting for you to spill what you're worried of... but it's seem that we're worried of the same thing, although differently. Mistress Karin, you're a normal civilian. This stuffs of a warrior is too heavy for you. That's why, I don't want you to burden yourself with blood. If that man appeared, then so be it. We'll enact our revenge. But if he doesn't, then we'll just simply walk ahead. That's all."
"...But then, but then... what is my raison d'etre?"

Ryoko listened to Karin's stories of the murder Jeanne's sister. Such act was indeed unforgivable. Seriously, killing a Digimon just for fun?! And then Karin swore to enact the revenge, and sacrifice her own kindness, which basically reminded her to Ankh. He had lost his family by murder, and he swore to enact revenge. That way, Ryoko couldn't help but to feel sorry.
While she knew Karin was focused, she never saw her this... weak. Frail, and vulnerable. She was trying to be tough, only to add more burden into her mind and shoulders. If Ankh had been Karin, he would have gone mad, by punishing everyone who commited oppression and murder just for their own whims. Ryoko sighed, hoping that Karin wouldn't fall into the same path Ankh had taken.
Jeanne even said that it wasn't something that is fixed. A fourteen-year old girl was too young to bear such burden. Kids at such age was unstable mentally, and the revenge stuff was too complicated for them. Heck, even Ryoko didn't bother to set a revenge against Devas when they failed to protect Snowpoint. So, why bother to enact a revenge if it only made endless chain of hatred?
"Well, I know ya dun wanna let a murder to happen again, but know 'tis. Revenge ain't an answer. It only creates endless chain of hatred. We're fitin' not to satisfy our hatred, yanno. It's to protect world n life. Besides, wut good can we get from revenge?
Besides, ya remind me to Ankh. He's goin' to enact his revenge after his family were killed. However, 'da urge for revenge is worsened by his own hatred towards 'da strong ones 'n Darwinian doctrine of "strong rules weak" thing. Yea, as da result, he's succumbed into cycle of madness n turns into a tyrant wannabe who opted to sacrifice his own kindness 'n wants to rule 'da whole world juz to punish 'da bullies n serial murderers.
His goal is noble, to make two worlds better place for humans n Digimons, but da ways of achievin' it ain't different from da tyrants he hates most. So yea, ya can say he's willin' to be hypocrite juz to achieve his goals. It's all because too much shit he's burdenin'. Anger, hatred, sorrow... All drove him into madness. I know I already told ya, but I juz hope ya dun fall in da same way he had, Karin-chan." Ryoko said to Karin before telling her about Ankh once more, who had similar background to Karin. She then patted her shoulder and smiled at her.
"Also, Karin-chan, ya dun have to sacrifice anythin' to achieve yo' goal. Juz do wutcha can. I know y'll have to fite da guy who murdered Jeanne-chan's sister, but dun let yo' hatred dictate ya. Y're yo own gal, so make Yuuki proud! So, let's start da engine 'n shift yo' gear up!" Ryoko told her, giving the blonde a thumbs-up.

"Not exactly. I don't get it why you said that violence always ends with another and it's cycle of hatred. It's given that if you're in a war, your enemy would come at you... and it's the fact that you'll usually kill one another. Of course, it's given that if you killed your enemy, their descendant would come to you if they know you're the one responsible for it. However, that risk is to be taken. Afterall, those who doesn't have that common sense is stupid... if you don't wish to get into a fight, then lock yourself in the cellar.
Before you ask me why I took vengeance, then, the reason is the same, albeit different. If it's us that attacked first, then I'm fine with it, I'll blame myself, I'll kill myself over and over again if needed. However, when it's related to Kyo... that guy did it first, hence, to stop this kind of event from occurring again, I'll simply destroy them to their very core... Now, what about my speech about war? Well, Kyo is not a warrior. She's a baby at best back then. Do you understand my viewpoint?"
Jeanne stared at Ryoko. "I'm not doing this as a soldier, I'm doing this as a big sister. I'm tossing all that has ingrained to my Digicore since the start, and I'm shaping myself for that reason... Now, returning back to your statement, will I pull back just because of that? Nay. Will I pull back if it's tasking too much for my mistress? Yes. I asked her too much. However, when what happened ahead is already clear, then..."
"I'll make my decision by then," Karin said in resolve. "To revenge, or to not... To kill, or to not... simple as that."

Well, Ryoko could understand Jeanne's point. She couldn't think but that, Jeanne was right. a simple violence wouldn't call a cycle of hatred. However, it would if the hatred is involved. The descendant of the said enemy would hunt down the killer. That was the busty star's point all along. it would create another vengeance.
"Dat's exactleh ma point, Jeanne-chan. Y'd hope dat 'da child of enemy ya kill wouldn't hunt ya. But if it does? Like I said, it'll cause another vengeance, 'n y'd hope he'll stop. It's not like I dun wanna fite, after all. I do wanna fite, but it's only as long as it won't cause pointless bloodshed. I think Karin-chan's too young to burden all 'da shit, 'n I'm afraid 'tis revenge stuff tasks her too much for her state of mind.
I know if a Digimon can be killed n reborn. But still, I won't kill a Digimon unless they has chance to reborn as better one. I mean, evryone has chance to change, rite? Even for 'da crooked ones. If he's psycho enuff, then kill him, it's okay. But then at least give him a chance to learn better things, so he won't repeat da same mistake. If I were ya, I'd not forgive him for wut he done, but then, it's his act 'dat he commited I hate, not 'da one himself. So, I'd beat him up to 'da pulp until he realized his errors. I'd forgive him if he's conscious enuff to redeem himself."
And that's when Ryusei spoke up, "Actualleh, Onee-chan, revenge 'n violence is different thing. Many associate revenge 'n violence as da same thing, but da truth isn't. Revenge can be done in many ways, even in harmless one. For example, ya can put 'da guy who murder Kyo into jail, until he realized 'da errors. Ya can also ask 'da cops to lock him tight so he can't run! Hahaha..."
Ryoko then smiled at Ryusei after his laugh, and then at Karin as she said in her resolve. Looks like she regained her resolve and conviction, and at least, it relieved the tomboy a bit. Well, someone's got better, eh?
"Looks like yo' gear's up, eh? Okay then. Next time we meet dat guy, we'll defeat him together! We're gonna help ya anyway we can, so take it easy, okay?" Ryoko asked. "So, shall we go?"

"Heheh... so naive," suddenly Jeanne spoke. "It's as if I'm talking to a kid over and over again! Your pacifism truly knows no bound, you two! Such a level of pacifism, are you trying to be some kind of saint? If this world is full with you guys, then I'm sure there won't be conflict... alas, it's the truth that no matter how ugly, this world need demons in order for it to stay alive. You think pacifism would stop everyone from fighting? In the end, pacifist would probably lives the shortest among all."
Jeanne tossed at the two of them a disdainful look.
"...Listen very carefully... I don't care about your little pep talk, but your very naive idealism starting to annoy me. If sorry can solves everything, then there's no need for police. If police are enough, then there won't be any kind of scums loitering about. That's why, it's idiotic to just like that believes in peoples. Do you think some villains could know regrets? No, some really did it for fun... they'd cry crocodile tears and they'd use that kind of pacifism you have in order to forgive them... In the end, they'll bite back at you."
She glanced downward at them and decided that it solves nothing to stay here.
"Satsuma Ryoko and Ryuusei, until you stops that kind of overboard pacifism and ideal, then you will not gain anything from me. As much as you want to stop 'hatred' circulating, then you'd have to stop peoples from feeling emotion to begin with. Meanwhile, I won't blame the system. I'll blame peoples because they fell to it... Now, until next time."
And so, the angel and the human immediately left the cat cafe. After that whole talk, Karin's face shown total disdain...
"Speaking of which..."
Karin suddenly leaned her head backward like looking at someone who has been really huge pain in the ***.
"...Mana is dating Ryouta now. So watch where you step."
And so she get out for real this time.

Perhaps, Jeanne was right after all. If there were likes of the duo, there wouldn't be nay conflicts. But, isn't it good to have conflicts minimized, or to zero at all? But then, the demons and alike are not necessary. Who was sane enough to want a conflict to begin? Everyone want it to an end, right? If it's began then it's inevitable. But still, Ryoko and her partner wouldn't hold back if it's begun.
Maybe she was right. Ryoko and Ryusei were pacifists, or so she thought. But the truth is, if someone was crazy enough to hurt a child or woman (especially the one she flirted with), they wouldn't forgive them. They would kill them until they reborn into the better ones, and teach them the sense of right and wrong, back from the start.
"Maybe y're rite. Call us pacifists, but, who wants a conflict to begin? If any of us is sane enuff to realize, then we dun. Honestleh, for an angel Digimon y're realleh cynic, yanno dat? I can't help but to remember 'bout Ankh. He had said 'da same thing to me. But then, there's always better way to have 'dat killer learn his lesson than killin' him. Ya can enact yo' revenge, but at least ya can offer him two choices: live by humiliation or dead full of sins. I think, dat psycho killer deserves punishment worse than death, period." Ryoko said.
"Like Ankh said, death is release rather than punishment. As much we dun forgive dat killer, I'd like to see him beaten in pulp, locked in jail forever. But as Onee-chan said, y'do remind us to Ankh. Besides, if ya keep goin' to kill him, ain't dat da same to 'dat killer? Inno it's with different reasons, but still, y're repeatin' wut he had done." Ryusei added.
Jeanne then told the duo that they wouldn't gain anything from her until they stops their ideals. Well, no one could blame her, though. It's that killer's all fault. Hatred is something natural, and as long as it's tolerable, it's fine. If it's only hate against petty things and something trivial, then it's acceptable. But what if that hatred became a murderous degree? No, it's not acceptable.
"Oh, well then. I know hatred is sumthin' crucial in our emotion, but then, I dun want if it becomes murderous. Wut I meant with cycle of hatred is, da cycle of murderous hatred. It won't stop if we keep those kind of hate. Anyways, if thar's scums, then there's cops. If we wanna do any sort kinda of vigilantism, then so be it, as long as it can help da cops to catch da crooks. Da crooks 'r also sentient beings dat needs to have rights to live 'n correct their mistakes, yanno?"
Ryoko then saw Jeanne and Karin leaving. And the latter seemed to be disdained, just like her partner. Well, looks like that poor girl had been absorbed into Jeanne's quest of revenge. Honestly, why she would drag Karin into her personal problems? All just because hatred towards a Digimon? And again, was killing the only solution for the murder? What if the killer's friend of child see that and set a revenge against them?
"Okay then. Bai, gaiz!" Ryoko bid them. And so, it was time for them to leave. But what they were doing in cat cafe, really? To eat, right? So then they stayed in the cafe for a moment, so they could eat. Ryoko then ordered for a XXL Burgers for her, and King-sized hotdog for Ryusei.
