Predator and Prey[Mission]

PREDATOR AND PREY Let's state some ground rules here! How the events of this thread play out is entirely affected by how your characters react to the situations that occur while you hunt for Leomon. You can either work together towards the common goal or choose to approach the situations separately. During each main event I trigger a flag these offer you two-three basic options on how to advance. An example would be: "Go left towards the sound of fighting, right towards the sound of rushing water, or forward towards the small shack." and then you can respond accordingly. Good luck! After having spoken with the Renamon who placed the request and preparing for the mission in your own ways; your group of three arrives at the north entrance to Server Woods. It doesn't take a genius to realize that something is going on within the forest. Even if the three of you hadn't known about the trouble in advance the dark pressure being emitted from the entrance in unmistakable. The weaker hearted in your group are likely steeling their nerves because of the pressure. You realize now that if you want to turn back this would be the best moment. It would certainly make you look like a coward but you have no idea how much stronger this Leomon could have gotten. You have to think of your own life before the safety of others right? The reward though....with all those bits you could buy a feast fit for a king. No, you can't flee from this. You take a deep breath and turn towards the rest of your group making sure that they are ready to depart. You might even take the time to get to know them a little better(assuming of course you've not encounter the members of your group before). You'll take your first steps into the much more sinister Server Woods when everyone is ready.

"Shiro, I thought you said this would be would be easy money!?"" Kai glared accusingly at Shiro, the white cat-like Digimon which was his partner. Kai'd been extremely short on funds ever since he started having to feed the creature, and his sister Kuro, so when Shiro told him about an easy job he'd spotted in the Digital World, Kai had followed up on it. What he hadn't realized was that, rather than a simple job like mowing a digital lawn or painting a digital house, he'd signed on for serious combat against a powerful Digimon. Still, he couldn't exactly back out at this point. He couldn't just abandon Renamon, and Shiro was raring to go as well. It was just a shame that one as unqualified as He was the one to take the request.
"Kai, you know Shiro's definition of 'easy.' Didn't you think it was odd when he told you that there was a job in the Digital World? Last time we were here, he challenged the wrong foe and needed to be saved!" Kuro was right, if he'd taken any time to think about it, Shiro's suggestion would have been in dire need of a second opinion. Where had the tyke found the time to find this job listing back then, anyways?
"But it will be easy! You'll see!"
Fortunately for him, he wasn't alone. Two people were joining him, one much more familiar than the other. Yui, his friend, who (by the way) had been the one to save him and his partners when Kuro and Shiro had wandered off and been attacked by a powerful and cruel Digimon. Just the fact that she was there reassured him somewhat. Hopefully, Shiro would stick to foes he was stronger than, today.
The third person with them was slightly familiar, but with everything going on lately, Kai couldn't quite place him. It had been barely a week since Kai had met Kuro and Shiro, and so much stuff had happened already! He felt bad for forgetting the guy, but couldn't put a name to him to save his life.
"It looks like I'll be in your care again today, Yui," Kai told the girl with a nod.

Shi was staring at the entrance of the woods, that feeling was something else, something out of a book would be where he placed it. Shi stared at the forest his face showing no signs of fear but inside he was wondering what exactly was in there, it didn't scare him more of just worried him about the unknown, why was the reward so high for this mission? Shi glanced at his partners Yasuo and Yuudai. Yuudai had a smile but in his eyes Shi saw unease at this whole thing, he didn't let it show but this was something to be worried about. Yasuo on the other hand was staring at the forest his mind most likely full of what could be going on in there and how they could help ease whatever was going on.
"You two ready?" Shi asked his two Digimon, both glanced up and gave firm nods not saying anything, they knew what they had to do and so did Shi. Shi pondered how they could fix this problem without destroying the target, it felt impossible but there had to be something they could do right? Shi looked at the two who would be joining him along, Yui one person he was a bit friendly to and someone else, Shi couldn't recall who it was his mind too focused on the task at hand to look for a name.
Shi was a bit at ease knowing Yui was here, he still didn't know what she had achieved in terms of Digivolution but any sort of help would be good.

Yui approached the forest, with her digimon following her. The twins were ready to do this, hoping they could save the Leomon. "I really hope we can clear the virus from him...so he doesn't have to die..." Loli muttered as they walked. "Don't worry. We got this!" Pop said, punching his hand with his fist as he smiled. Yui turned to Kia and chuckled, having heard him talking with his digimon. "You guys got this. After all. You have your two guardians to look after you. I am sure you won't need me at all." Yui said, winking and Kuro and Shiro. Yui turned to Shi and nodded at his question. "We are better off getting in there, rather then stalling. The sooner we find Leomon, the sooner we know what the situation will be. And whether we can save him or..." but she trailed off. She knew digimon could be born again...but it seemed like saving him would be a better option. Well they would find out soon, presumably. "I guess we should get going." she said, feeling confident with her digimon at her side. Loli was perched on her shoulders as a look out, while Pop walked in front of her.

"That's right! Leave it all to me, Kai! I'll beat anything that gets in our way!" Kai was not nearly as convinced as the white Digimon, but then, he wasn't sure exactly what danger they'd be facing. All he knew was that it was a gang of Digimon lead by the brother of the contractor, who was a human-sized fox-y Digimon. Since his name was Leomon, he probably shared some similarities with a lion? Either way, he was not nearly as certain of Shiro's chances in that fight as Shiro himself was.
"All right, all right. If you say so, Shiro." Kai knew full well that the last time he had admitted his lack of faith in Shiro, it had ended poorly. If he told Shiro that he didn't think the white Digimon could win in a fight against Maxi, Shiro would probably run off to challenge him in order to prove himself. Kai was still new as a tamer, but he was starting to understand his Digimon.
Shiro's twin, Kuro, was not nearly as excited about this venture. She curled around Kai's neck, and pretended to be asleep. Kai knew she would have much rather not come along at all, as she was not fond of fighting. Still, he'd dragged her along. He hadn't known Yui would be there, and he desperately needed a voice of reason to curb Shiro's more risky tendencies.
"Right. Can't get anything done standing around here. I'm sorry, I'm not sure I've caught your name. I'm Kai, and these two are my partners, Kuro and Shiro." he directed the last part to the vaguely familiar companion who was joining him and Yui on this... Whatever it was. Job? Quest? Mission? He wasn't sure he liked the sound of any of them. Job didn't do it justice, but quest and mission sounded extremely presumptuous. He followed Yui into the forest, Shiro leaping ahead to lead the way, despite not knowing where they were going.

Shi's looked down as Yui mentioned that, they could try and save him but how? Shi wasn't a priest and knew nothing about what was going on with that Digimon, in the end would it be possible to even try? The only alternitive was to kill him and while they would be reborn what Shi learned was they might not retain their memories, what would be worse living knowing you almost caused some death, or living without knowing who you truly were? "We'll do what we can Yui." Shi said, he'd try his hardest to make sure this was stopped one way or another, he just hoped the way he did it was freeing the Leomon from his fate.
Shi saw the face of the third companion more clearly now and he slowly recognized them, it was that same teen from before the one he met at that cafe. Shi's realization only took a small moment to process. Shi shook his hand figuring he wouldn't say anything about their previous encounter. "I'm Shi, the two beside me are Yuudai and Yasuo." Shi replied letting go of his hand. Yuudai and Yasuo both nodded at this muttering their own hellos. but mostly being focused on what was inside, Yasuo was trying to see if he could sense the Digimon, he sure could sense the darkness but maybe they were closer then they all realized.
Yuudai started off ahead of the team like Pop was, Shi hung around near Yui but noticbly a bit more in front of her. Yasuo walked alongside Shi while not as eager to look for a fight. Yasuo was more eager to find whatever this was and get out of here, while not easily scared the mission did say he got teammates so a surrounding attack or pincer attack were not out of the question, traps seemed likely seeing as they said this was a hunting grounds so he kept his eyes out for those also.

Yui nodded to them and continued to walk forwards into the forest. She found Shi moving to walk in front of her, as she raised a brow and shrugged it off. Whether it was intentional or not she didn't really care. There were more important things to worry about...like Leomon. She wasn't sure they could heal him, it's possible killing him and having him be reborn might be the only option. But they won't know until they find him. She looked around, trying to see if she could see anything, but the forest was too thick. Loli was on guard, acting as Yui's look out so they won't be taken by surprise, as Pop kept closer to the front, ready to take on whatever came at them. He was quieter then usual...having a more serious stature and tone to him. He may still be a cute little fuzzy rabbit-like digimon, but he knew he had a duty here and he would protect Yui and his sister at any cost. "So....I don't suppose either of you have seen a leomon before?" Yui chimed in, hoping they would know him when they saw him. His name would suggest a lion but...names don't always make sense, like terriermon. How does 'terrier' make rabbit?
