So yeah, there it was, an enigmatic creature yet to show its ugly face attacking the Salvager. The three of them were getting ready to deal with this menace once it showed itself, but it looked like Magnamon was having issues because he changed into the most cute little boy Dianne had ever seen. If weren't because they were in the middle of serious business, she would've loved to pinch those cute cheeks. Not like he stayed in that form for long as he changed into another kind of angel digimon. Hopefully it was as strong as his armored form.
And he did well to change to a strong form because the creature soon appeared, it was some sort of shapeless blob made out of seaweed and ship fragments. The gargantuan creature was too dangerous to be left alone, something Ren understood very well and somehow managed to make the dutchmon move by itself towards the attacked ship, as if the captain digimon had a special link with the vessel. That sure got the attention of the monster, enough to receive an unlike attack from it: it could shoot some of its biomass and create smaller creatures out of it. Their leader managed to shoot down a few of them, but still a generous number of them managed to reach the ship, craving for destruction.
"I'm taking care of them, go for the big guy!"
She said, as she neither could fly like their shapeshifting angel friend nor had ranged weapons like the captain and therefore all she could do was to defeat those smaller mooks so they don't sink the ship or distract the heavy hitters of the team. And so, she clinged to her weapon and charged towards one of the nearby creature spawns, ready to skewer the enemy with it.

Angemon's voice is more mature-sounding than Lucemon's, although not quite as...'gruff' as Magnamon's. He speaks as he takes to the skies, "My name is Angemon, not Luce'." And with that, he's gone, flying towards the Salvager to try and get the crew organized, so they can be brought aboard the Dutchmon. What a bizarre name.
As he goes, however, he tries to take out a few BriNohemon, "Hand of Fate!" A golden beam of light lances through the sky from his hand, cutting down several more. He quickly arrives on the deck and explains the situation to Captain Datamon, recommending that he and his crew gather on the side of the ship furthest from this seaweed creature. In the meantime, he stands ready to use defensive moves!

As the BriNohemon plopped onto the deck, they rose on unsteady legs and started shambling towards Dianne. They moved slowly, but relentlessly, and it was clear she could be overwhelmed if she didn't stay fight carefully. They did not appear to have any natural weapons, just blunt limbs wrapped in kelp that could entangle if you weren't careful. And speaking of careful, that bright golden beam of light lancing across the sky certainly got its attention, Angemon. As he landed on the Salvager Sargassumon turned to track the digimon's movements.
"Ar, watch out Luce'!" CaptainHookmon called out, willing the limping Dutchmon to please God just move faster. The ship's wheel behind him spun wildly as the ship turned sharply to bring it as close as he salvage ship as possible. CaptainHookmon himself turned to see the crowd of BriNohemon slowly encroaching on the sistermon. Planting his pistol like a cane to support himself, the Captain raised his left arm, aiming the grappling hook-like anchor in a line behind her, where a few were getting a little close. "Hookanchor!" The anchor launched from his arm with a boom and the rattling of a thin digizoid chain being pulled behind it. It crashed through three or four of the seaweed puppets with a wet tearing sound, freeing up the path behind Dianne and making her defensive position that much stronger. Man, she's good with that trident.
His attention was diverted however, when Sargassumon raised one massive paw again. "Timberrrr Crrrrash," it rumbled, firing the broken wooden mast claws protruding from its hand like a trio of missiles. Each one shattered into a a cloud of cutting splinters in a deadly hail that fell on both ships. "Get DOWN!" CaptainHookmon shouted over the din of battle, tossing himself up against a nearby rail for some modicum of shelter. He couldn't see Sargassumon's claw begin to come down on the Salvager. Again.

"Hya!"
She shouted as she plunged deep into the brinohemon her Cross Barbeé. A cracking noise told her that she hit into whatever counted as its vitals and just to make sure, twisted with strenght her trident and the puppet dissipated into data.
Not very far from the first one there were a second and a third marionettes, so this time she charged her weapon with shining energy and after a single stab, she injected that energy into the foe, making it explode into data. As for the third enemy, she slashed at it consecutively with the bladed sides of her Cross Barbeé and finished with a powerful skewering attack.
Fortunately, the brinohemons lacked of intelligence ... but what they lacked in combat talent they more than compensated with sheer numbers and for charging towards them she found herself trapped between a few more of them that landed in front of her, and a few of them that were behind her. While stupid, those creatures were relentles and little did they care for their own survival and threw themselves on the sistermon, who tried to avoid them as much as possible while poking at them when they left an opening in their guard.
As if the captain sensed the complicated situation she was in, she realized that the three puppets that were sealing her rear exit were completely annihilated by the captainhookmon and gave her the much neccesary room to not get flanked from opposite sides again.
"Thanks, cap'n!"
Alas, her newfound confidence was shaken when the sea creature launched a much more effective attack on them, several sharp splinters of wood. With no place to take cover, she crouched and slammed the trident on the floor, timing her Protect Wave so if any splinter reached her position, they would be deflected away.

This fight is getting insane. How're they supposed to handle something that big, with just the three of them? From what Angemon can tell, they aren't even on the same level of power. Hell of a time for Magnamon's Digimental to time out. Screw him, who needs him?
Angemon replies in a calm voice as he spots the incoming wooden splinters, “I already told you. My name is Angemon,” He moves to float between the splinters and the crew of the Salvager, “Angel Staff,”. He begins to rapidly spin his golden staff around to block the incoming splinters, at least for now. He can't keep it up very long, but maybe it'll be enough for Ren Campbell to get that ridiculous vessel of his over here to evacuate the crew.
“Some expediency would be appreciated, CaptainHookmon,”

CaptainHookmon was relieved to see both his companions had deflected the dangerous shards of wood. Returning to his feet, he ushered the Dutchmon forward and brought it alongside the larger salvage vessel opposite the side Sargassumon attacked. Many of the BriNohemon on deck had been shredded by its last volley, so they had a little breathing room. "All aboard, ye knaves! While the goin' be good!" And then.... he did something really stupid. Phenomenally so.
"Hookanchor Pull!" He shouted, firing his grappling anchor up- right at Sargassumon. The anchor dug in high on the side of its 'head,' and with a sharp pull of his left arm CaptainHookmon began retracting the chain sending him flying in the air towards the massive creature. Which turned to look right at him and began swinging a huge claw his way, and stuck on his course as he was there was no way to avoid it. So the Captain spun, drawing his right leg up to his body and slapping the metal hammer below his knee down. The cylinder on his leg rotated and he lashed out with a cry of "Broadsies Kick!" The hammer came down and his leg thundered with a heavy detonation that blew a chunk from the claw and sent CaptainHookmon spinning away on a new trajectory. As he spun on the chain and whipped towards Sargassumon's chest, the Captain drew his leg back and cocked the hammer again. This time as he kicked out at the creature he released the hookanchor, the force of the detonation taking a small (compared to Sargassumon) chunk from its chest and sending CaptainHookmon tumbling away.
He dropped in an inglorious sprawl on the deck of the newly-rebranded Sinking Salvager not far from where Luc- Angemon stood. He planted his gun-sword-cane and hauled himself to his feet with a groan, looking back to the monster. Net result: Mildly annoyed. Its gaze fixed on them, on the ship, and that heavy kelp-and-driftwood claw began to descend with a low, burbling roar.

Once the wood splinters were deflected, Dianne continued her assault on the seaweed puppets. One stab here, one explosive injection of energy over there, the very few remaining mindless drones quickly fell one by one, degraded in number due friendly fire from their very own creator and the ones who weren't directly deleted ended up severely damaged and ripe to be finished off easily. It also helped that once both ships were close enough, the bunch of muchomon boarded the dutchmon and wiped out those monsters and the captain of the Salvager itself was powerful enough to one shoot any of them with ease. Soon the brinohemon were no more and the ship was safe again, at least as safe as a ship going against a hulking marine monster can be.
Seeing the daring and courageous stunts that Ren pulled inspired the sistermon blanc to do something as well, so she jumped off the ship and started to swim around the creature, aiming to be behind him in his blind spot. Even if she were the weakest of the group, she wanted to cooperate too, and if she could release her full power in the precise moment, she could dish some reasonable damage, or at least distract him enough so the other two can take advantage the moment he lowered its guard. And so, she quickly swam towards his rear side, hoping that he were too focused in the pain his missing claw caused to notice an in comparison small digimon going for his weak spot.

Angemon isn't sure what else he can do, really, beyond standing in front of the crew to cover them as they start to move onto Ren Campbell's rickety vessel. If he can just buy himself a little time, while those other Digimon retreat...
Alright. Draw their attention. He nods, and flies up, spreading his wings to make himself a bigger target. "Hand of Fate!" A beam of golden energy lances out from his fist. It might not do much, bit it should still sting a bit! Maybe. Hopefully. Come oooooonnnnnnn.

The golden lance of energy was well-placed, striking Sargassumon in one massive eye and causing it to roar and flinch away and its descending claw to miss both angel digimon and ship. As it reared back, Sargassumon's low, crashing voice rumbled "Unnderrrtow Crrusherrrr!" Its descending claw thundered into the waves and strands of kelp burst from the spray thrown into the air, snaking towards Angemon and attempting to tangle him up, foul his wings and drag him into the water. Not a good place for an angel to be.
Pulling himself to his feet, CaptainHookmon raised his cane gun and shouted "Captain's Shot! Watch out, Angemon!" He fired a trio of projectiles, blasting away some of the kelp tentacles but leaving many more snaking up to grab at the unsuspecting digimon. "Below ye!"

Great Success! The creature was too busy to notice the sistermon swimming around him and so she reached whatever passes for the back of the monster. Then she proceeded to climb the pieces of kelp and wood that composed his body, being careful to not make him realize that the enemy was sneaking to strikes his vitals. Said that, it took a lot of grip power and concentration to not fall off him as the sargassomon decided to move a lot for his special move and Ren was also shaking the foe with his own attacks, maybe unaware that Dianne was trying to land a sneaking attack.
Nevermind, she managed to successfuly climb to his neck and with all her strenght, she plunged her weapon into it, several times. As that wasn't being too effective at damaging his blob monster, she decided to charge her trident with energy, stab it into the neck, and then cause the energy to transter inside and explode. This time the attack was successful and made chucks of his biomass to spread around due the explosion. With nothing to stop her from continuing her pinpoint attack, she continued using consecutive Divine Pierces on her victim, hoping that piece by piece, the creature slowly lost the head and hopefully died like that

The angel digimon was too slow. The strands of kelp swarmed and overwhelmed Angemon, dragging him down into the churning sea before their very eyes. "Luce'!" CaptainHookmon was screaming, firing his gun cane madly. Nothing worked, nothing even bothered this monster. All of their attacks together couldn't- wait. Together. Yes, hadn't he found- he wasn't sure, he'd barely learned enough digicode to be able to read it. But what else could he do? Holstering his gun cane, CaptainHookmon produced his D-tector. He clicked over to a helix symbol he'd been experimenting with. It was time to find out if Grandpa's notes were right. " Execute!" A ring of glowing digicode appeared around his left hand. " DNA Evolution!" With a quick, violent motion CaptainHookmon scanned his D-tector across the ring, separating it into glowing bands of energy that spiraled around his body in an expanding helix of light. His body seemed to fracture into glowing points of light as it converted to energy, and the helix-ribbon of digicode arced up to crash down into the water where Angemon had gone under. Their passage blasted apart the kelp all around him as the helix spiraled around him in a tight cocoon. "CaptainHookmon!" "Angemon!" "DNA Digivolve to...!" Angemon's wings began to close around him as his body cast away its former vestments, revealing a silhouette of golden light. CaptainHookmon's helix-ribbon of digicode spiraled around him coalesced as the wings opened once more and the figure of light stood tall. Armored boots formed over his legs as CaptainHookmon's coat formed tight around his body, draped in golden holy ribbon and the smallest pair of Angemon's wings. His left arm was encased in a heavy digizoid cannon, the rim of its barrel inscribed with holy digicode. A matching bracer containing a vessel of holy water formed on his right arm. Where Angemon's helmet once resided, the agumon-skull jolly roger-adorned tricorn came down in its place, leaving bare his humanoid jaw. They burst from the water in a blast of light and spray on wings that no longer seemed to mind the sea. "CaptAngemon!"

"This isn't working as expected ..."
Despite her blowing small chunks of the giant digimon with each attack, it was clear that this creature could regenerate the small time damage she dealt. In fact, things got rather creepy when they growing kelp started to expand towards her legs and captured her trident, growing over her.
She struggled to break free from the kelp and fortunately, small amounts of algae was frail enough that she could escape and use another divine pierce to remove the ones covering her weapon.
And then, the creature stopped regenerating where she was for something else picked its attention and therefore demanded the usage of its reserve of kelp. something in front of the creature was glowing bright, something that might become the spark of hope that would defeat the monster, it was .... nah, she couldn't tell what it was, what with being in the back of a colossal creature, but probably it was something good.

The newly DNA Digivolved form of CaptAngemon zips through the air with the greatest of ease, moving around to the rear of this creature, where Dianne is continuing to attack it with...limited success. Maybe. Then again, maybe that's the opening they need.
It speaks with the combined voices of both Angemon and CaptainHookmon. How bizarre! "Better mind yerself, lass, arr! Holy Hydro Cannon!" A large sphere of shimmering water forms in the cannon that adorns his left arm. He fires the projectile at the same spot Dianne was attacking!
Yeah! Teamwork!
If they keep attacking together, maybe they'll be able to slay this beast before it does any more damage. After all, the Dutchman must make a pretty tempting target...

Speaking of the Dutchmon, it was not left untouched by the pair's merging. As the light of the digivolution washed over the ship, it shimmered and began to reformat. The driftwood hull stayed mostly the same, its planks smoothing to a new finish as its railings and trim became edged in gold. The tattered sails unfolded into crisp white sheets traced with a faint feather pattern like a certain angel digimon's wings. A carved wooden figurehead grew from the bow of the ship, shaped like an angel in flight. The MiniDutchmon boat was hanging over the ship's stern, ready to be released when needed, and all over the ship the dangling bits of kelp and plant matter had vanished. The Dutchmon was clean, awake, and back where she belonged.
And it turns out, with actual sails, the Dutchmon could move. Even still, the ship barely avoided one large, flailing claw as Sargassumon roared and fell forward, the combined efforts of Dianne and CaptAngemon finally seeming to cause some damage. The angel-pirate's attack had widened the crater the sistermon had started, revealing the tip of what almost looked like a vertebrae in its back- made of wood. Perhaps a weak spot? "Brrrrine Bomberrrr," Sargassumon moaned, bits of its kelp-flesh firing off from its back up at CaptAngemon, unfolding into the puppet-like BriNohemon that reached for the flying digimon in an attempt to pull him down. A few more thudded down onto its back near Dianne, clearly aiming to keep her from inflicting further harm.

The light of hope that previously appeared in front of Sargassomon was quick to move behind the gargantuan beast and while the creatured wasn't familiar to her, his voice, or better said, voices, resembled those of the cap'n and angemon.
"Wow, so that's what a fusion looks like"
She said as she jumped left to give the newformed being a clean view of the site she damaged a little, not much but at least she forced Sargassomon's regenerating capabilities to work hard enough that when the holy hydro cannon hit, only a portion of the damage was undone, still leaving exposed a good chunk of his internal body, namely what looked like his vertebrae. With luck, a powerful enough attack in that spot would cause irreversible damage to the creature or outright destroy him.
Needless to say, that was the perfect moment to attack, and the colossal beast thought the same as he used more of his biomass to create more brinohemon as apparently he couldn't defend himself from back attacks. And so, he launched some at the pirate/angel hybrid while a few of them simply formed on his back to stop her.
"This guy doesn't give up"
Having to choose between attacking the creature's exposed weak point and defending herself from the brihonemons, she decided to handle first the kelpspawn. With the firepower that her "new" ally had, they would have more chances to take down the creature and they couldn't do a thing if the brihonemons dragged them to the sea or to be absorbed by the body of the monster
