I CAN'T HEAAAAAR YOOOOU! [Spirit Hunt.] [Scout/Kai/Rei/Tomi]

As a couple of the Devidramon are dragged down into the battle by Scout's...allies, whatever, he approaches the back wall. What is that? A symbol engraved on the wall, sure. Like when he found Agunimon! But...this one looks a little different. Like a five-point star?

Dammit, is he joining a cult?

He runs a hand over the symbol, causing his D-Scanner to emit a deafeningly loud guitar squeal, easily heard throughout the chamber. As the wall crumbles away and reveals a glowing totem, Scout grins. Maybe this'll be over sooner than he thinks!

Silly, silly boy.

He watches as the D-Scanner absorbs the Spirit, displaying the totem itself on the screen a few seconds later. Upload complete. Excellent! Now, uh. How do...?

"Chozetsu Digivolution!"

His body streeeeetches upwards, growing to almost seven feet this time. Golden armor presses itself into place around his body as long horns grow from his skull. What an, uh. Interesting design.


"Digivolve to...The Golden Hero, OmegaShoutmon!"

Aaaaand another voice change. It sounds almost strained, like he's been shouting for hours at a rock concert or someth--ohhh. Right. Another loud guitar squeal echoes throughout the chamber.

Instinctively, he vaults off the stage, and rushes through the air as little more than a streak of golden light. When he comes to a stop on the other side of the chamber, he seems...enthusiastic. Almost giddy!

"Hey, boys, how about a little Hard Rock Damashii!"

A large fireball springs up in each hand, before being blasted into the Devidramon that Shiro is attacking, reverting it to a Digitama! ...And then he proceeds to shoot off towards another. He's racing Shiro for takedowns!

Crazy.

"Let's get a move on, shall we? We'll be done with this quest before you know it!" Famous last words, but they are accompanied by another guitar squeal, so that makes it alright.

    "Hey! That was mine!" Shiro roared at Scout, not seeming to care about his shiny new form. Kai groaned. Shiro hated it when others took his prey! Especially when he was fully capable of beating it on his own! The white Digimon scowled and batted the digiegg away with his paw. Two could play at that game! "Heavy Headbutt!" The white Digimon leapt at the monster Scout had fired his second attack at, it also reforming into a digiegg as it slammed into the cavern wall. The score was 1 to 1, and with Tomomi defeating one, there were only three Devidramon left!

    Kuro had not accounted for Rei. She had thought that, being a Spirit User, she would be capable of holding her own against the attackers. She had thought wrong. With all the remaining Digimon crowded around Rei... She decided to leave Kai. Rei needed help, and fast! If there was a seventh, about to attack Kai... Well, she couldn't afford to worry about that. "Heavy Bite!" she declared, Chomping down on one of the flying beasts' legs. Her target screeched in pain, and turned away from Rei.

    Kai just took a few steps back, so his back was against a wall. He would just be in the way if he went anywhere else!

OmegaShoutmon...doesn't stop shouting. What a surprise right? Oh no! A thing attacking Rei, or Flamon, or whoever! He'll have to do something about that! He grabs the creature and hauls it back away from her as best as he can. Nope. But still. Better idea!

“This. Is. Awesome!” He shoots upwards again, golden energy arcing across his body as he focuses his energy. A blazing crimson aura springs up around him, as a deafeningly loud guitar solo begins to play throughout the chamber. Something fast-paced and awful.

“Victory Damashii!”

The music becomes one long, loud note. As the squealing guitar continues, the aura leaves OmegaShoutmon's body, forming an enormous fiery effigy of a dragon, which emits an audible roar before crashing into the Devidramon that had been pursuing Rei!

Bam. Four down, two to go.

“Bam!”

Shut up.

    There were seven Digimon left standing. Kuro. Shiro. Rei. Scout. Kami. Two of whatever those things that attacked them were. Of them, one had been bitten by Kuro, one had been set aflame by Rei, then crashed into the ground heavily, and both had been engulfed in a fireball from Kami. In turn... They hadn't done much to the group, overall. Rather unimpressive, to be honest. Of the four fallen, Scout had taken two, Shiro one, and Flarerizamon had one to his name. Kai was impressed with the boy, who Scout had brought along. He hadn't known what to think... But he was definitely doing more than Kai was, in this battle. Even if Shiro was looking quite impressive.

    With a well placed, "Heavy Blast," Kuro scattered one of the demonic dragons, it reforming as an egg. This was the first time Kai had witnessed such a thing, a defeated Digimon becoming an egg. Now that he was no longer in danger, there being only one foe left, he had time to muse on it. Since they became eggs when they were defeated... Did that mean Digimon never actually died? Since they just returned to being an egg? Then again... Sometimes, data was absorbed when a Digimon died. In those cases, was the Digimon gone for good? Kai didn't like to think about that. Especially not given how close it had come to happening to Kuro and Shiro in the past.

    Shiro was so not about to lose in this competition! With his own, "Heavy Blast!" he obliterated the final Devidramon, as always, leaving naught but an egg. Final score? Scout: 2. Shiro: 2. Kami: 1. Kuro: 1. "Not bad." Shiro admitted begrudgingly to Scout, the closest he would come to complimenting someone he had not outright beaten. Kuro, meanwhile, was checking on Rei. "Are you okay?"

    Kai vaguely wanted to say, 'Let's go before something worse happens.' Somehow, it felt like if he said that, it would jinx them. So instead, he just stood awkwardly to the side while everyone else started realizing the battle was over.

OmegaShoutmon lands infront of Rei and gives a thumbs up, still speaking...a little louder than Scout normally does, “Aces!” Of course you are, “Start heading back the way we came, I suppose! Or just check every passage until we find the right one! Or we could just start firing until we get out!”

Those...some of those are bad ideas.

There's another shrill guitar squeal as he briefly strikes a pose. The hell is going on, even? He sticks his head out of the chamber. Looks left. Looks right. Looks up for some reason. “This way!” He picks left, pretty sure this was the way we came. He's unaware of the creature watching them from the shadows. Humans had managed to take the sacred relic from the altar! But how? He'd never been able to tunnel inside!

They must be stopped!

A large green dinosaur-like Digimon comes thudding around the corner and rams right into OmegaShoutmon, sending him pirouetting with surprising grace (considering he's been hit) into a wall. It gives a roar of pure rage. These humans have stolen from these caves! They must pay!

    And that was why Kai had decided not to say that! The new foe looked tough... Though, he couldn't exactly say which one looked tougher between it and Scout's new form! Or he could, as a single blow sent Scout crashing into the wall... Not good! Double not good was Shiro obviously getting excited!Seriously!? They had just finished a fight... And now they were in another!? This was so not the time for that!They should just run!

    But it seemed Kai was the only one who felt that way, so he had no choice but to stay. Well, Kai and Kuro, whose reaction was to glance to the exit. Shiro, on the other hand, was raring to go! And Tomomi had already attacked! "Heavy Headbutt!" Shiro tested the waters with a simple dash towards the beast. A solid THUNK resounded throughout the room. If the Digimon had felt it, it certainly didn't look like it. Meanwhile, Kuro stood over Rei. The girl may have gotten Kai hurt far too many times for her liking... But her partner would probably be upset if she got hurt. Typical men.

The upside to being made of metal, Scout is quickly learning, is that you don't quite feel impacts as much as you do when you're, uh. Made of meat. Yeah. OmegaShoutmon gets back to his feet. Hey! Everyone's chipping in. Yeah, if they combine their power, they can beat this relic!

"Hey, come on Rei, how about getting on the stage with the rest of us? Heavy Metal Vulcan!"

Oh good, more squealing guitars. OmegaShoutmon opens fire with the powerful energy cannons built into his hands and chest. Is it because OmegaShoutmon still has that 'new Spirit smell'? Is it because he's on a totally different level from Agunimon and his other spirits?

Nope. It's just because several Digimon striking the same spot will eventually wear down the defenses on any opponent. Triceramon definitely feels the energy blasts. It turns and fires powerful electrical bolts from all three of its horns, directing them at OmegaShoutmon. Logical, since he was the one that'd done the damage. Y'know. Preceding logic aside.

Fortunately that ridiculous speed saves him from taking all of the damage, but he's still clipped in the side! He spins around, although the music doesn't stop, and despite the discomfort of the injury, Scout seems to be having a hell of a lot of fun.

"Everyone target the scorched spot! Focus your fire and we'll break through that hide!"

Oh good, he's a tactician now too, is he?
