One Of Those Days (Alicia/Elliot & Isaac) (H Fraction Hunt)
|
Post by Alicia Westfield on Mar 18, 2016 7:31:15 GMT
((OOC: Ran out of room in the title, this is meant to be a thread going after Alicia's Human Fraction spirit, Steeldramon. Also, there is a reason for the text color change for the spirit.))
The Digital World, Alicia had realized, was a place where sanity traveled to die. Her first day she got ambushed by a set of fiery dinosaurs while working alongside Kai to get herself stabilized and capable of standing up... maybe not exactly on her own yet but not being pushed over by any random mon that decided to crawl out of the woodwork. So she basically had a good base to start building up from.
Anyways, it was a new day now, and she managed to get her real world priorities squared away before paying another visit to this mad parallel world again. Now, ideally she'd be able to get a pointer as to a general area to look for another spirit. Rustdramon wasn't exactly underwhelming, given what she'd managed to achieve already, but even she realized one's first form is certainly their weakest and it would be best to advance as soon as physically possible.
"Kid..." her spirit began, actually sounding a bit nervous. "I don't think you're gonna like what I have to say..."
"... What is it..." Alicia asked quietly, her eyebrow already starting to twitch. What could he possibly have to say that would upset her? Before she could get a response, her D-Scanner pinged and opened up it's map. Looking down at it, she furrowed her eyebrow, before looking up in the appropriate direction. "No. No way..." the despairing sigh came. Looking back down she zoomed out a bit with the Spirit's help, and confirmed her fears.
"I hope you have a plan for this. Because that D-Scanner is not malfunctioning."
"It's on the tracks. My next spirit is perfectly lined up with a set of Trailmon tracks." Alicia muttered to herself. "Spirit, please tell me this is just some cruel nightmare I'm going to wake up from soon."
"I could tell you that, but I'd be lying. Also I'm sure it's not as simple as being on the path. There's going to be some kind of twist." Her hope of mental salvation was utterly crushed with that admission.
"Can't I just pass on this one for a while? Come back when I'm better equipped to grab it?" Alicia questioned hopefully. Feeling the spirit shake it's metaphysical head, she sighed again.
"Not an ideal option, Alicia, not this early in the greater scheme of things. If this was one of the Beast Spirits you were pinging off of and you already had one, maybe. But you only have your Sprite and you're a bit pressed to grow fast."
Clenching her free hand, Alicia grit her teeth and growled softly to herself, before throwing her head back and venting her frustration the only way she could at the moment. A rather loud scream of "Really!?" promptly rang out at her will. If one where to replicate said scream into a cheesy Saturday morning cartoon, the sound might have even been accompanied by a camera shake to imply that the entire place quaked under the sheer amount of frustration in the voice.
This was going to be one of those days, wasn't it.

Originally, the Digital World had been little more than a curiosity to Elliot and Isaac. Their three days there were spent dipping in and out, occasionally going on adventures but always retreating to the safety of their home. After last night, however, Isaac knew they couldn't afford to keep doing that. When the danger decided to follow them, bio-emerging in the form of a digital ghost, it brought a shift in priorities with it. What if something even stronger bio-emerged? Or something more malicious? The ghost had the courtesy to be afraid of humans, but future threats may not have been so kind.
That was why, with a brief goodbye to their mother, Elliot and Isaac found themselves on the first Trailmon to the Digital World. It was far earlier than they were used to, but if the adventure wasn't going to wait for them they'd have to keep a step ahead of it.
"Alright! You're okay. I'm okay. We're gonna be trying to do that Digivolving thing so we can get tougher. And if not, at least we'll bump into a bunch of cool stuff along the way," he said, trying to reassure his brother.
"By trying to Digivolve, do you mean just flexing and grunting in your room?" Elliot asked. " 'Cause I'm pretty sure Mom thought you were having night terrors again."
"Better than when you tried spinning," his brother retorted. "I was sure you were gonna hurl all over the carpet."
"At least I would've cleaned it."
"Okay, okay, whatever." Isaac wasn't about to get distracted and miss their Trailmon stop by more brother-banter. "What matters here is that we've got no clue what we're doing, and until we do this place is gonna kick our ass. So it's up to us to get stronger and maybe help keep more people safe. As fun as it was running around and taunting a ghost, we can't just keep messing around like that every day." That didn't stop Isaac from grinning fondly at the memory, of course.
"Yeah, and how else are you gonna protect Mai-"
"Sssh! We're not having this conversation again."
Thankfully, before Elliot could get back to gently teasing his brother, the Trailmon came to a stop. They usually got pretty antsy if people stayed inside for too long, so the two made sure to leave as soon as possible. It was pretty standard by Trailmon Terminal standards, in that they could barely hear themselves think over all the noise, hustle, and bustle. In particular, however, the shout of one woman stood out. It was immediately apparent that she was having a bad day, judging by how her despaired groan bounced through the walls of the station.
The two brothers looked at each other, Elliot motioning his head over to the source of the noise. At first Isaac rolled his eyes, but after a stern look from his brother he gave a reluctant nod of approval. The two brothers began to make their way over to the woman, Elliot calling out "Excuse me, Miss? Are you okay?"
Of course, they weren't the only ones in the area. While in most circumstances, a Mekanorimon hiding behind a pillar would seem like an incredibly obvious eavesdrop, anything was possible in the Trailmon Terminal. When you've seen Megidramon squeezing onto a train and taking up half the space inside, it becomes way harder to discount anything as suspicious. Beyond the monocle draped over its eye and the custom-tinted passenger window, the Mekanorimon looked like a perfectly-normal deactivated machine. Surely it was nothing. Maybe just an abandoned walking aid for a particularly fancy Koromon.

Groaning a bit more, Alicia straightened herself up and shook her head, before hearing someone addressing her with the obvious question if one had heard her frustrations. Turning, she blinked in surprise as she sighted two young boys who seemed to be in their early to mid teens. Smiling rather fondly despite her early frustrations, she was reminded of her own brothers once she noticed the slight hints of similarities that marked the two as siblings.
"I'm alright, just... got some really bad news when this started acting up." With that she held up her D-Scanner, which was still displaying its map and indicating the general location of her next spirit. What was a girl to do?
"Alicia... you're smarter then this. Two humans in the Trailmon Terminal all alone?" the Spirit quipped with an implied raise of his eyebrow. The dots began to click together at that.
"Hey wait a minute... you guys wouldn't happen to be Spirit Users, would you? I suppose you'd understand my plight a bit more if you were. Considering I have this problem with where my next one is located..." With that she took a moment to sigh and run her hand through her red locks, frowning. The act of obvious frustration over and done with, she pointed out the dot where the Spirit's location was marked, and then tapped at the line indicating the Trailmon Track that intersected with that location.
"You see... it seems I have to figure out how to get my next spirit while riding a Trailmon going who knows how fast, and only one chance per pass to grab it. Maybe only one chance period if I'm really unlucky."
"Spirit Users are rarely that unfortunate, Alicia. Though your luck has been truly terrible ever since I gave you your D-Scanner..." The Spirit of Steel noted with a mental nod.
"Thanks for the reminder..." she muttered under her breath, trying to cover it up with a face palm. "So, you can see how this is quite the dilemma for me, right?"

The two brothers paused to look at each other, somewhat confused at the girl's immensely quick deduction skills. They had a quick conference in hushed, English whispers, reverting back to their home language for the ease of communication.
"How did she know that? We're not that obvious, are we?"
"Maybe she detected us on her Digivice too?"
"If that's how it worked we'd have a way easier time meeting new friends."
"We don't have any leftovers from our transformations, right?"
"Now that's just being silly. There's no way we could blend in if that was the case."
"She seems smart. Come on, you don't always have to be suspicious."
"After the Black Knight answered us asking for directions by trying to spear us?"
They could go back and forth all day about this, but if that was the case nothing would get done. Elliot coughed and turned back to the girl, holding up his own Digivice proudly. "Yep!" he merrily chirped. "I only have one so far, but I am sure if I try my brother and I can help you.
My name is Elliot, by the way. It is very nice to meet you!"
"And I am Isaac," the other boy said, reluctantly holding up his own Digivice. Judging by the V on one and the smiley face on the other, their first forms probably seemed quite apparent. He took a closer look at the Digivice, his brow furrowing when he noticed the dot being right by the Trailmon track. That was quite a conundrum.
Maybe they could ask the train nicely? No, they got pretty frustrated when people tried to interrupt their route. If they had a bad day, one might have even sped up just to spite them.
"Do you know where on the track it is? Or just the general area?" Location made the difference between a quick dash across the tracks and the horrible tedium of trying to pry a wall open.
The Mekanorimon's eye seemed to flicker open as the trio continued talking. As much as it wanted to continue eavesdropping, following the group would only make them more suspicious. Instead it waited for them to move, holding as still as a statue until then.

Alicia just smiled as she let them converse in what was the trio's shared language. She enjoyed the brother's back and forth banter, as it reminded of how her own family would bicker and argue in good nature. Finally the two turned and answered her question in the positive and she chuckled.
Taking the moment to adjust herself to speaking English again, Alicia replied, "I'm Alicia, the pleasure is mine. And yes I did hear what you two were saying. No, you weren't that obvious. No, I didn't pick you guys up on my Digivice. And no, it doesn't seem like you guys have any residue from a transformation. I figured it out because, as far as I'm aware, the only way to get here is to use a Digivice to access a hidden terminal that links here. You guys didn't appear to have any partners with you so the only apparent option was that you were Spirit Users like me."
Taking a breath, the young woman took a look at the map again. furrowing her eyebrows. "Well, I have a feeling it's going to be really high up. I'm not all that knowledgeable about trains in general but this area looks like its in a pretty close quarters tunnel. I don't think we'd have enough room to fit against the sides if we notice a Trailmon coming and... well I'd rather not chance the speed of an kind of train against that of a human."
Lowering her voice again, she addressed her Spirit again. "Any clearer idea as to where we have to look?"
"... you're on the right track. Pardon the pun. Eyes to the sky, blink and you'll miss it."
"Lovely... Though why can't you just tell me where it is exactly and how to get it?"
"Ha! Kid, if you think you're gonna make your way in this world by having all the answers handed to you, you're living in a glass house and I've just dropped my hammer."
Subtly rolling her eyes, Alicia looked over for the right Trailmon to go to for the track they needed to be on. "Lets take a ride first and try and see if we can spot anything suspicious. We can get off on the next station and make plan for how to get it on the return trip. How's that sound?"
It was as good a plan as she could think of given that they had almost no information about how to get the blasted thing down.

The two brothers sighed in mutual relief. They hated having to speak in stilted, awkward Japanese, and whenever they got to slip back into their native tongue it took a lot of language stress off of her shoulders. Sure, it would make it harder for them to learn the language, but it wasn't like they would be staying in Japan for too long. They were already about halfway done with their vacation.
Besides, there was no flaw with her deduction. The boys never really thought about how the train station worked before, but knowing that made their spill into the trash all more convenient. Sure, it smelled bad and lead to the start of a very stressful day, but it was also apparently the only way to kick off their little adventure. Maybe it really was a good fate that shot them down this road after all.
"High up?" Elliot asked for confirmation. His eyes sparked as he started to come up with an idea. "Isaac, you can fly, right?"
"Not very well. I'd probably have to make a few passes to try and grab after it," he responded hesitantly. "You sure I wouldn't get hit by a train?"
That was a good point. Trains were tall and fast. If he wasn't careful, he'd get clobbered big-time trying to grab for the fragment. "Oh goodness, no. I think Alicia's idea is better, then."
"Then it's settled! Time to catch a ride, guys," Isaac finished, waiting for the train to pull up to the stop.
Unfortunately for the Mekanorimon, that meant the group wouldn't be moving anytime soon. The machine's joints were starting to get sore from the uncomfortable position it was left squatting in. A gentle scribbling noise could be heard from within the dome, as if something was taking a lot of notes about the situation. Occasionally its eye swiveled a little to the side, watching out for the train. It wasn't sure if it would be able to stealthily board after the group, but Trailmon had many doors. Surely it'd be able to sneak in from a little further down the stop, right?

Alicia was left chuckling a bit more at Elliot's enthusiasm. In any other scenario the idea would've been a good one too. Alas this was a scenario that required precision, and Isaac had admitted that his flight wasn't all that well handled. thus her plan was taken to heart. Thankfully, for all parties involved, the group didn't have to wait long for a Trailmon to arrive, ready to pick up passengers. Leading the brothers on board, she took a seat near one of the doors between cars. All the better for her to be able to lean out and get a look up above.
"Isaac, Elliot, could you two cover the sides from the windows while I keep an eye down the center? Three pairs of eyes are better then one after all." Her request posed, she hummed to herself as she waited for the Trailmon to get underway. A pity she was unaware that there would be another passenger on this train, with ill intentions for the trio and their plan.
"Something seems off about all this..." the Steel Spirit mused without warning.
"Off...? Like what?" Alicia whispered back, raising an eyebrow.
"I don't know for sure. No plan survives contact with the enemy, after all. Be on guard."
"You noticed something I didn't, did you...?" Alicia asked, narrowing her eyes in suspicion. Her spirit offered nothing in return, and in the silence the Trailmon blared it's horn to signal that it was departing now that it was certain it had all passengers aboard.
The question was, did either of the brothers notice someone else boarding the Trailmon?

"Aye aye, cap'n!"
"You can count on us."
The two brothers nodded and moved to each side of the train. Elliot took the side facing the tunnel, so he could immediately focus on looking for the spirit without anybody distracting him. After all, it wasn't like he planned on getting off anytime soon. He needed to keep his ears free of distracting chit-chat, and his eyes on the spirit instead of on the many colorful creatures that made up the Digital World's population. In his mind, he couldn't be efficient enough to notice such a tiny spirit unless he shut out any distraction.
To Isaac, who had taken the passenger side, the distraction was the whole point. The Digital World was full of people, both harmful and helpful. Of course Alicia wasn't going to expect them to see a tiny spirit from inside a fast moving Trailmon. That'd be silly! No, she wanted the boys to help be her eyes and ears, and pinpoint anybody that wished to do them harm. When your average, peaceful citizen had the strength of a prospective bodybuilder and was armed with the equivalent of a flamethrower inside their mouth, you needed to be wary of those that did have evil intentions. He kept his eye firmly on the crowd, looking for any suspicious characters.
There were a few of them of particular interest. Well, besides a passing Betsumon. Isaac didn't even want to acknowledge that thing. One was a SkullMeramon with a big, billowing trenchcoat, who had formed the fire atop his head into a flickering fedora. He looked like a biker and a hardboiled detective did the fusion dance. Another was a Mekanorimon, with a suspiciously tinted window and a strange monocle upon it's singular eye. A third had already boarded, and looked almost like a human silhouette sunken within a pile of rags. Unless Isaac wanted to start peeling away at the rags, he had no clue what sort of Digimon was even buried beneath them. A group of Roachmon, making a ton of noise and shooting Isaac cruel grins as they passed, looked especially suspect. A final noteworthy individual was a Pipismon, leering at passengers from above as he swooped for the ceiling of the Trailmon in hopes of using it as a perch. He took note of these and turned to focus on his seat, not wanting his cursory glance to be seen as suspicious by any outside observers.
The Mekanorimon settled into a seat far in the back of the Trailmon, looking a little silly crammed into one of the smaller chairs. Generally, bigger Digimon took the larger seats, but the Trailmon was filling up fast and he wasn't too picky. He twiddled his thumbs somewhat awkwardly, letting out a tiny whisper as he tried to squeeze into his seat. "You sure this is a good idea, Ulysses?" he asked, seemingly to nobody.
A slight chuckle came from beneath the tinted glass dome. "Are you doubting me, Ferrus?" he asked, a sharp, inquisitive edge to his voice. "Sure, our first plan fell through, but if we nab a one-of-a-kind artifact? The Academy will have to acknowledge us! And you know what that means, I trust?"
"We finally get a hot tub?"
Ulysses scoffed at the idea, voice raising slightly until he remembered that subtlety was the key. "And ruin my robes? Pah. Maybe a hot tub full of bits. Now that's a nice vision, ain't it? All we gotta do is grab the artifact, modify you into a kickass new form, and then-"
"Pass me off as your own invention?"
"It's like you're reading my mind."

Alicia sighed to herself as she settled in for the ride, keeping an eye on her D-Scanner so that she knew when she had to start paying close attention. A pity the digivice wasn't more accurate in it's area notifications. Oh well, she'd managed it once before with her Sprite, she'd just have to do it again for this spirit.
"No problems so far..." Alicia mused quietly as they came close to the Spirit's location. "Seems your worries were for nothing...?"
"I'll be the first to admit that I am fallible. Still caution is the better part of valor."
Alicia sighed softly at that. She had half a mind to try and get the Steel Spirit to loosen up some. Maybe a song would do the trick? Of course, she'd wait until she was certain she was alone before ever attempting anything like that. Randomly breaking out into song was a good way to drawing unwanted attention. Oh well. She had other things to focus on anyway. They were starting to enter a tunnel but thankfully it was well lit.
Something was nagging at her subconscious, as they went further and further through the tunnel. The pace wasn't exactly ridiculous. so she had a fair amount of time to scan the ceilings she suspected would contain her next Spirit. Perhaps it was a mental nudge from her disembodied adviser while she wasn't paying attention. Who knew for sure. What mattered though, is that, ever so slightly, she made out the glimmer of the spirit dead center above the Trailmon and deeply lodged into the ceiling.
"Found it!" she called to Elliot and Issac. She tried to keep her voice down so that she didn't disturb anyone too much, but she had to make sure her two impromptu allies were made aware of the location. "Just as I feared, its embedded pretty deep in the ceiling of this tunnel. That's gonna be a hard mark to make.
"Well at least you don't have to worry about it being destroyed by one too many Trailmon trips." The steel spirit intoned, chuckling.
"Is it even possible to destroy one of them?" She asked of him quietly.
"Not sure... never seen it happen before at least. Just be alert, okay?"
After all, anybody else wanting it that was paying attention just got a free heads up as it its general location. Alicia certainly hoped it wouldn't come to a fight just to claim it. the Flarizamon were enough, really.

At the sound of the girl shouting "Found it," Ferrus' eye flashed. The Mekanorimon had photographed the area around it at the second of the sound, and the sound of something being printed buzzed through the air. With a soft chuckle, the mechanical menace planned to get off at the next spot, now fully sure in his knowledge of where to go. "Easy." he whispered to himself.
"But must we be the ones to work for it, Ferrus?" asked Ulysses. "Surely if our brilliant new friends found it, they can be the ones to procure it. Then we, how do you say, lighten the burden off of them?
No, no, you don't need to say anything. I know I'm brilliant. That's why I'm the one with the degree." With that, the Mekanorimon shuffled back into position, a little antsy now that it would have to start watching for stops.
Both Isaac and Elliot looked dismayed to hear how deep in the ceiling it was embedded. That was crazy! How were they supposed to reach that? Elliot in particular seemed dismayed. Veemon wasn't the best Digimon for this situation at all. He was short, stumpy, and only good in close quarters. A high in the air target like this would just defy him as he meekly hopped up and down to try and reach it. Isaac, on the other hand, found the gears in his head starting to turn. Unlike Elliot, he could fly and blow stuff up. Ceilings were part of stuff. It'd certainly get past the whole deeply embedded thing, that's for sure. "I could always shift into Impmon and blast it out. So long as I'm not in the path of a moving train, it'll be a snap."
Elliot, on the other hand, looked a little concerned. "I don't think people'd take kindly to you blowing things up in the train station. They'd call the digi-cops on you, probably. There has to be some way we can get it out carefully, right?"
Expectant looks fell on Alicia.

This was quite the problem indeed, wasn't it? Alicia folded her arms over her chest and tilted her head. Elliot wasn't chiming in with anything his digimon form could do, so that meant he probably couldn't think of anything he could do in the form. Isaac meanwhile has his 'Impmon' form but as soon as he mentioned what he could do, his brother already brought up some concerns with that approach. She could think of a few of her own to be honest, but seeing as they already decided against that course of action, she kept them to herself.
"Well this is quite the situation..." her spirit quipped.
"Yes, yes it is..." she mused under her breath. "Can I get a life line or something? Phone a friend? 50/50? anything?"
"... going over what you all have together I'm actually kinda stumped myself."
Alicia sighed at the lack of an answer. That was the last thing she needed to hear from him right now. Then she perked up a bit.
"Isaac, Impmon might be useful for this after all. Do you use a pair of wings to fly or is it kind of like a spell? And if it's a spell, could you cast it on someone else and do you know how much weight it can hold?" She hoped she didn't suddenly overwhelm the poor kid with the sudden questions.
"See, my available form is Rustdramon, and in that form I have a move that can corrode things in a small area rather well. If you could get me up to the spirit, I can probably break down just enough of the tunnel ceiling to be able to pry the Spirit free. So if your flight is ability based and can hold up approximately... I would guess about one hundred pounds of metal or so, you could send me up there to handle it. I wouldn't need very long either, a few seconds at most I believe."
It was dependent on what Isaac knew of his Impmon form, but for the most part it seems Alicia has managed to answer those expectant gazes with a potentially solid plan.
"Okay, kid, if this works out I will honestly congratulate you on a job well done." the spirit spoke up, sounding amused.
"Thanks? I think?" Alicia returned quietly, not really sure how to take that.

Isaac blinked in surprise as Alicia went from 0 to 100 in seconds flat. It sounded like her plan was pretty ironclad, but only on the longshot condition that his flight would work. And the whole 100 pounds of metal thing had him worried, considering Impmon was a rather short form.
The entire success or failure of this spirit hunt fell solely on his shoulders. It was no big deal, really!
"It's magic," he started to explain. "It only works on myself, but usually I can stay in the air for a pretty long while using it. I've never tried lifting that much before, though. Can't imagine I'd be able to hold the spell for more than a single pass upward in that case. We can try, but I'm going to warn you, it might end up flubbing on us."
Elliot just kind of kept quiet, looking down at his feet. He felt pretty useless here, and was starting to worry that he'd just be a third body to have to account for in the train station. Would he just end up dragging everyone else down by sticking around? They'd be getting off the train soon, and he almost hoped that the others would have a role in mind for him by the time they got off. What could he even do, otherwise?
Ferrus was very casually reading a newspaper. Very, very casually. So casually that he was holding it up to his dome instead of up to his eye.
"Pah! A rubbish rag!" Ulysses sneered, scoffing at the various tabloid headlines coming to mind. Who cared about PileVolcamon losing his championship bout to Regulumon? What did they ever contribute to society? Far less than his genius, that was for sure.
Well, once he had a chance to apply his genius.

Nodding a bit, Alicia hummed to herself as she went over what Isaac answered with. It was honestly better then she was expecting. She was anticipating the possibility that Isaac's flight was wing based and this whole thing would fall through before they even got to try it. She wracked her brain for a possible back up plan as a 'just in case' thing but given what she knew they were pretty much locked into her first plan of attack.
Time was up, the Trailmon pulled into the station and trio disembarked to have some time to hammer out the final details of the plan. She couldn't reasonably expect Isaac's ability to be able to bring them up all the way from the ground, so that only left one option.
"Alright... so now we've got our plan. We'll hang out here for a Trailmon going back through to show up so we can get on top of it. Starting from the roof of a Trailmon car should hopefully reduce the strain on Isaac to something plausible. The only question is do we want to practice it while we're waiting to see if it'll even work and possible tire Isaac's Impmon form out prematurely, or go in blind and hope for the best?" That was really all there was too it, but Alicia looked over to Elliot, smiling sadly as she noticed his earlier melancholy.
Walking over to the younger of the brothers, she gently set her hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry Elliot. You've got your place in this as well. Nothing is certain when going on the roof of a train is in the equation. You don't have to worry about making things work to pull it off in the first place, so you're in the best position to play a sort of safety net for your brother and I. Isaac'll likely need his full concentration to maintain his flight long enough with me as a passenger, so if something goes wrong and we wind up falling, you can go and catch either your brother or the Spirit, whichever I can't grab in time myself."
The red-headed Texan chuckled softly. "It's not like you'll have to worry about me in particular, I'll be encased in the metal body of Rustdramon so I'm in the least amount of danger all things considered. There is one more thing you can help with too though. You can play look out and give us a warning in case someone decides to muck with what we're doing. There's always a silver lining in any cloud you see after all."
Hopefully that would cheer the poor kid up, and Alicia looked over to the tracks. No Trailmon yet, huh? "Anyways, what do you think Isaac? Practice it or go in blind?"
"... Beware the one overlooked by all. A fog of lies shall bind the careless."
Alicia blinked and suppressed a groan. Great, now her spirit was talking in riddles or something? What else could go pear-shaped today?
'Murphy that was not said out loud don't you dare mess with me!' the wielder of Steel quickly thought to herself quickly. If only she knew things were already coming down around her metaphorically.

"I don't know how much juice it'll take out of me, but I'm sure I'll be ready for action before the next train comes," Isaac replied. "Of course, it'll probably also make people suspicious why I'm trying to drag around some metal dragon. I don't want anyone to think I'm trying to start some kind of fight." The gang of Roachmon had disembarked with them, and as they continued jostling and taunting each other they looked as belligerent as ever. Would they take such practice as an excuse for starting a fight?
Elliot, on the other hand, cheered up massively at Alicia's reassurance. She was right, too. Veemon was small, yet quite the strong form. He could easily catch at least one of the duo if something went wrong. Besides, everybody needed a lookout! He smiled warmly at the girl, a great burden lifted off of his shoulders by her reassurances. "I'll do my best!" he said, turning to Isaac for help. The older brother began turning to the various suspicious characters he saw getting on the train. Only the Skullmeramon and Roachmon had seemed to get off on the same stop, so those were tje ones he advised Elliot keep an eye out for.
"Alright, ready? And don't forget pizza toppings!" The two held up their Digivices and were promptly bathed in a white light. Occasionally the lights tried to spill into each other, but flickered away as if repelled. If their thoughts weren't in sync, the spirits weren't either, so there was no risk of accidentally forming VictoryImpmon. The two distinct shapes of Veemon and Impmon appeared instead, making the boys even shorter compared to Alicia. They nodded, ready to act when she was.
What of Ferrus and his unseen master? The two were confident enough in their literal photographic memory to bother getting off at the current stop. "Those fools will never expect us now, Ferrus. Who would think we'd come all the way from the next stop? It's genius, I say! Of course, so is everything else I do." It wasa good thing he was inside the Mekanorimon, and couldn't see it rolling its eye in response.

Smiling, the woman ran a hand through her hair as she noticed the two brothers spirit evolving. What caught her off guard though was that part way through the process they seemed to... want to merge? Was that just a thing when siblings did this together? If that was the case she was glad her own brothers weren't around to get dragged into this mess. She'd pretty much have a heart attack if she got fused with one of them! That was too close for her tastes.
The brothers finished their evolutions and Alicia had to resist making a rather undignified noise as she noticed how small and cute they were! She got shrunk down for Rustdramon too, but she didn't look nearly as cute, sadly. Oh well.
"Alright then." Closing her eyes, she focused, trying to recreate the same feelings in her heart that her spirit said would invoke her new found power. The fire sparked, and then the hammer dropped. She raised her D-Scanner, and the screen lit up. "Now to begin the reforging..." Swiping the Digivice, she enveloped herself in her own sphere of light. It shrank down, before fading away to reveal the four foot tall Rustdramon.
"It's getting easier for you every time I see." her spirit suddenly mentioned. Alicia couldn't help but nod slightly at that.
"I noticed... this is going to be a recurring thing isn't it? Am I... adapting a little too easily?" she mused back quietly.
"Honestly? I'd be more surprised if you weren't taking to this well. We were paired up for a reason, and back when I was around I was known most for making the most of whatever the situation was."
That was a bit reassuring to be honest, so Alicia let the topic drop and walked over towards Isaac so they could test her plan for this hunt out. "Try not to laugh? I know this form doesn't really look like it could matter much but it'll do."
