One Of Those Days (Alicia/Elliot & Isaac) (H Fraction Hunt)

The Steeldramon's eyes shot wide open as she managed to see the viral dinosaur come out, followed by retaliating against VictoryImpmon by tossing the poor fusion digimon off the edge.
"I-Isaac! Elliot!" She screeched hoarsely, panic rising in her heart at what fate could have befallen the brothers. Should she send a chain for them? Could it reach them in time? Unlikely at these speeds, they were lucky before with actually getting the Spirit out of the ceiling. The chances of her being able to find and catch them were nil.
Hopefully that teleport trick of their's would work to save them. Either way, she had some revenge to take. "Ulysses, you said your name was...?" she asked of the lying professor digimon. "Mark my words and know them to be true. That will be the last mistake you ever make in this life."
The white chain uncoiled and she grasped it tight, whipping it towards the NiseAgumon Hakase, "Chain Lasher!" Almost as if it was accelerated by her fury, the metal links struck like a snake and tightly bound the dinosaur digimon up before he could even see the attack coming. Releasing the rest of the chain from her arm she tossed it up.
"Shot Blade!" Another dagger was spat out, and the free end of the chain was anchored to the ceiling again. Smirking with an almost cruel gleam in her eyes, she left the professor to figure out how to get himself free before the rapidly dwindling chain that marked how long he had left on the train ran out and he met his end in a cruel and inventive way.
"And now for you..." Alicia mused, glaring at Ferrus. The black chain unraveled and she flicked it up. "Shot Blade!" Down the line a number of daggers were fired and caught in several links of her black chain, turning it into something of a bladed whip. "Chain Lasher!"
The Steeldramon had no scrap of mercy left in her right now. The only thing those two kids had done was come and help her out of the goodness of their hearts, and now they could be dead because of this greedy duo? To whom her Spirit Fraction was nothing more then a huge payday? Now with impromptu blade whip in hand, Alicia lashed out with a scorching intense fury aiming to shred the Mekanorimon under tempered steel.
He was already pretty badly torn up from earlier, so one would hope he had a plan of saving himself and possibly his master too.
"So much like myself..." the Spirit of Steel mused after being silent so long, though he went unnoticed by Alicia.

Ulysses let out an alarmed sound as he felt the chains start to tightly bind him. While he still had one arm free, he frantically reached into his cloak and pulled out a small bottle of tonic. He himself was on the cover of the bottle, grinning and flashing a thumbs up beneath the words Doc Ulysses' Miracle Elixir. Ah, that old scam was a great one. He bit the top of the bottle to screw the cap off, then poured as much of it over the chains as he could. It took a while, but soon the false tonic began corroding at the chains. The fake professor was freed just before the chain ran out of length, leaving him careening right over the side of the train.
Ironically, he passed right by VictoryImpmon, who was gripping onto the back of the train for dear life. Ulysses grabbed onto the fusion's ankles as he passed, leaving the two dangling haphazardly. Naturally, Ulysses was first to act, clawing at the impish dragon as he tried to scramble over them. In retaliation, the VictoryImpmon began kicking at Ulysses' head, causing him to cringe with each hit. If it wasn't for how dangerous of a situation the two were in, the fight would look really goofy.
"Fools! Step aside for your superior!"
"You're more like a posterior, if you ask me."
"Insolence! Let's see you act so smart when you've been befuddled. Liar Beam! "
Suddenly, Isaac got the idea in his head that Aaron Burr was first president of the United States. Elliot chimed in to politely remind him that no, it was Benedict Arnold. Internal debate over history class raged as Ulysses, now unopposed, was able to climb over them and get back ontothe train car. Between the boots to the head and the severe whiplash, however, he wasn't looking so good.
Neither was Ferrus. The Mekanorimon had stopped attacking, instead sticking to a guarding stance as Alicia's wip bit into him time and time again. Scratches in his plating turned into gashes, which turned into horrible rips. He persisted, however, sure that his endurance would buy Ulysses the necessary time to escape. Maybe if he kept sitting here, nobody else would need to get hurt today.

Alicia allowed herself a grunt of anger as the NiseAgumon Hakase was flung away. Her plan half-worked, as she did remove him from the fight. However, since he was free, the possibility existed that he managed to grab hold of something to save himself. Ironic that it happened to be VictoryImpmon that Ulysses managed to grab hold of, not that she was aware of that.
So now it was just her and the badly torn up Mekanorimon. The bladed whip fell at her side as she huffed, out of breath from how much she had struck at Ferrus. On one hand she wanted to finish the blasted thing off for its role in this madness. On the other she was willing to risk getting shot in the back if it meant potentially finding the brothers holding onto something and pulling them to safety.
"Alicia, if you're going to pick a time to listen to me again, I'd really appreciate if that time was now." Her Spirit chimed in the moment she was debating among her own thoughts. "I understand that you're concerned for those two. I am as well for what that matters to you. But the better idea is finishing this guy off then looking for them. We don't need you getting punched or blasted off the Trailmon and needing to be rescued yourself. Trust them."
"... Spirit, if they're gone when I go looking, I'm throwing this D-Scanner away and never talking to you again no matter how much you yell." Alicia responded quietly.
"Agreed."
With that, now that Ferrus appeared to be on his last legs, the Steeldramon crouched briefly and lunged, howling. "Rending Claws!" her voice echoed as she went to strike Ferrus center mass in the hopes of tearing apart something import that would force him to shut down. True her bladed whip combo was strong and doing damage at a fast enough pace that the Mekanorimon was forced on the defensive, but it lacked that immediately fatal touch that could be achieved with Rending Claws.
She hoped she wasn't making a mistake and that this would be enough to free her up to find the brothers.

Ferrus was taking a pretty bad pummeling. The Mekanorimon was starting to leak data as the slashes cut through his plating, bit into his chassis, and were starting to reach dangerously close to his core. Ulysses' brow furrowed in concentration as he reached into his pockets once more, pulling put what looked like a small remote. It only had one button, which the Agumon's finger pensively hung over. The Mekanorimon was a goner anyway, and he was still perfectly fresh. If he could absorb the machine's data afterwards, he could turn from burden to benefit.
And yet, Ferrus was the closest thing to a friend Ulysses had. He was somebody to rely on. He was somebody to spend long, boring nights devising plans with. He was the guy who did all the heavy lifting. He wasn't just any minion. He was Ulysses' minion. Greatness was to be achieved at any cost, but Ulysses couldn't bring himself to push the button. Instead he pocketed the remote, muttering in disappointment at himself.
"Oh, confound it all. Tangent Breath!"
The Peppet Breath skewed high, then dipped low, going over Ferrus' shoulders to crash in between him and Alicia. It was mostly style over substance, generating an impressive cloud of flame and noxious green smoke but not doing much damage. However, for once the smoke and mirrors played to Ulysses' strengths. He needed a distraction more than anything right now. "Fly, you fool!" he shouted, the Mekanorimon turning his attention to the lying professor. It tried to run, but its legs failed it. It was forced to retract them and run on its hands to Ulysses' side, the two gearing up to retreat.
Would Alicia allow it?

Alicia snarled as the blast landed between her and her target, stopping her short of striking the fatal blow. And then she listened to the viral professor call to his minion to flee. Run!? After all the pain they put her, Elliot, and Isaac through!? No, this was not an acceptable outcome! She was going to tear them apart for what they did!
"Alicia... the scenario has changed, settle your soul." What? Now her own Spirit was advising to let them go? "I only advised as I did anticipating the Mekanorimon would fight to it's last metaphorical breath. Listen, he wants no more of this fight, just like you didn't really want to fight in the first place."
The Steeldramon forced herself to pause and focus on her ears, seeing as the Tangent Breath fumes were still blocking her path and sight. The tell tale scrapes of the Mekanorimon effectively trying to drag himself to safety.
"I'll never judge if you must kill in self defense, but I can see into your heart. You're not one to murder in cold blood. You destroy them now and you'll tear yourself up over it for a long time to come. You don't need that kind of weight on your shoulders."
Alicia clenched her fist tight as her hate and rage warred against the truth her Spirit was reminding her of. It would be so easy too. Swing herself over the smoke and fire, drop down and skewer Ferrus, then run over and kick Ulysses off the Trailmon. Being a rookie the impact and subsequent tumbling would potentially be enough to finish him, and if not he'll likely be caught by another Trailmon and run over.
"Remember what's more important to you."
The clenched fist tightened further for a second, and then started to relax as Alicia closed her eyes. In the end, she knew he was right. She knew she wasn't meant to stoop to the level of heartlessly killing a fleeing enemy. She wasn't that kind of person. Taking a deep breath, as she no longer cared about fighting them if they were going to run, she jumped through Ulysses' smoke screen of Tanget Breath, wincing as the flame scorched her. She managed to avoid choking on the noxious fumes though. Breaking into a run, she passed Ferrus without so much as glancing at him and ended at the edge.
There they were, dangling for dear life. The VictoryImpmon had managed to avoid a gruesome fate and Alicia sighed with relief. She then took a glance at Ulysses, a short moment passing as she seemed to size him up. Maybe she was still planning to end him?
That wasn't to be though, she huffed angrily at him and then promptly ignored him, dropping down onto the ledge and grabbing VictoryImpmon's hand. "Isaac... Elliot... Thank god you two are alright..." The NiseAgumon Hakase and Mekanorimon were the last things on her mind right now, this would be a perfect opportunity to flee the scene and lick their wounds.

Ferrus reflexively tensed up as Alicia approached, but his apprehension vanished when the girl proved to mean no harm. He scooped up his fallen ally, she scooped up her own not-so-fallen one, and the two parted ways. VictoryImpmon clutched his head, two brains pounding as the Liar Beam's effect finally wore off. "And they say to this day, President Taft's mechanized bath tub still roams the shady corners of the White House," the amalgam slurred as years of history classes suddenly snapped back into their head. After frantically screaming about George Washington for a second, the two returned to their senses.
"You're okay!" Elliot cheered, the VictoryImpmon cheerfully hugging Alicia. A white light enveloped them, and soon one fused Digimon had become two human brothers once more. After the last debacle, Elliot and Isaac wanted to spend as little time in their fusion form as possible. "They didn't hurt you too much, did they? You were in one heck of a fight."
"Yeah, but did you see how she handled them? Like a total badass!" Isaac answered. "Bet Mr. Roboto and the world's worst professor aren't gonna be skulking around here much longer."
Little more than anything, the two brothers wanted to relax and unwind. First, however, they would need to get their way off of the Trailmon's back. It'd be a good minute before the living train returned to the station, so they had a decent amount of time to burn while they waited. "How'd you get here?" Elliot asked, figuring swapping stories would be a great way to make it fly by. Isaac paled a little at the possibility of having to regale his own, much more embarrassing tale, but he couldn't deny he was curious about Alicia's whereabouts too.

Alicia blinked a bit as the VictoryImpmon went on about something completely nonsensical for a moment. Then some random shouting followed. What did that blasted professor do to them? Whatever it was, it seemed to have worn off now so there was no point going over it again.
Plus with the danger passed, it seemed the two brothers saw fit to revert to normal, splitting apart. The Steeldramon chuckled softly, then reverted to her own human form once the two started talking again, sitting herself down for the rest of the ride.
"Nothing too bad. I'm aching a bit from taking that Break Laser and my body's a bit sensitive from the burns my Digimon form took but other then that I'll be just fine." Alicia relayed to them. Then she leaned back and blushed as Isaac pretty much openly declared what he thought of her handling of the situation. "Y-You really think that was that cool...?"
In hindsight, she could understand why he'd say that, she did pull off some crazy things in the fight but at the time she hadn't really thought it worth that much praise. To say she was caught off guard was an understatement. Fortunately, before she had a chance to dwell on it too much and metaphorically explode out of embarrassment, the brothers shifted topics to how they first came to the Digital World.
Though that got a blush of its own as Alicia looked away, chuckling nervously. "Uuuh... O-Okay, I suppose we have a moment or two." Hopefully this wouldn't sound too bad on her part... "Well, the thing is I'd just gotten off work early, so I rode my motorcycle to the train station with the hopes of going out and finding a culinary school I could try applying at or, failing that, just have a day out in town for some fun."
"Here we go down memory lane." her spirit quipped and she swore she saw a flash of a draconic figure smirking in her mind's eye.
"Shut up for a moment please!" Alicia hissed under her breath, sighing in the hopes of covering it up. "Anyways, my day got side tracked when I stumbled across a young boy who I noticed was really badly injured. His name's Kai: brown hair, wears glasses, and has a pair of cat Digimon he named Shiro and Kuro. I went up to try and offer some assistance to him since I was worried about his condition but... to say we got off on an odd first impression is understating it."
"He thought you were one of those types of girls. The kind that-"
"Oh can it!" Having to interrupt herself to quietly shout at her Spirit was starting to get a little irksome. "Anyways, he went on without me but I got a bit stubborn and followed him without him knowing. He passed into the Trailmon Terminal with his Digivice and vanished before my very eyes. Anyways, I go up to try and figure out what happened and when I started hearing a voice in my head. This freaky mist springs up out of nowhere and blinds me, someone or something passes me my D-Scanner, and then I wind up tumbling into the Terminal. Kai helps me get my bearings, including helping me quickly pick up my first Spirit, Rustdramon. We got ambushed by a pack of Flarizamon after that but fortunately his partners evolved enough to completely overpower them so they ran for the hills."
Taking a breath after finishing her tale, she smiled and chuckled nervously. "So that recounts a fair amount of my first day in the Digital World. What about you two, if you care to share?"

"Eh, that's okay. Odd first impressions are great. My bro met his girlfriend inside of a trash can."
Isaac flushed bright red. "Will you knock that off?" he asked, a little bit puzzled at what prompted him to bring that up out of nowhere. "Still, that's a pretty cool entrance. Got to make a friend, and take the good entrance to the Digital World. Things were a bit more chaotic on our end.
So I see this weird kid, right? Tattoos, flaming hair. Pretty strange looking, but he swung by so we decided to be polite. 'Course, he ended up accidentally setting stuff on fire, and then brought over a bunch of thugs that were chasing him. One of them tossed my bro right into the river, so naturally I whacked him with a book. Knocked him right out. The rest of them mobbed me, so the kid stopped being a kid and started being a wizard. That scared them off, and the wizard gave me the whole explanation about the Digital World. Then he ditched me instead of helping me save my bro, so I just dove right into the river to save him."
"He got kidnapped by a tank, of course. But it was okay! I found him with the help of a few friends. He was at this big hole, being forced to hunt for spirits. They fought the tank while Isaac and I found our spirits, and then we transformed and helped them out! I'm pretty sure they were winning before that, though. So we started heading to the city to try and find our way back, but then this knight guy ambushed us! He was just trying to train us a bit to make sure we weren't going to get hurt or end up hurting anybody, but it was really scary.
And then we got on the Trailmon, and ended up going home." Elliot said it all like it was the most ordinary thing in the world. As confused and lost as he was at first, a few days into the journey and it was already starting to normalize itself.

... Okay she thought her first day in the Digital World was started by odd things but that... that took the cake.
"I feel like there's more to that first comment but I'll save you the trouble or embarrassment of delving further into it. Besides we're about to hit the next station. Hopefully we don't get too many odd looks coming off the roof of the Trailmon, eh? As a last bit of thought though, we should swap numbers so we can keep in touch, hmm?"
As she mentioned that, she pulled out her own cell phone and smiled, ready to handle her end of the swap as soon as the brothers got their phones out.
"I owe you guys for this. So please, don't hesitate to call me up. My job might get in the way a bit, but I promise I'll come to help out as soon as I possibly can." Nodding to herself she hummed and glanced forward as she heard the Trailmon blow it's whistle to signal its imminent arrival. This was such a high intensity series of events near the end, and Alicia was almost surprised to know it was already over.
"Thus a bond tighter then fate itself is built. As steel is made strong through the fires of the forge, blazing combat is a fast and strong method of forming life long friends. Treasure each one Alicia, for when your strength alone is not enough, you will have them at your back to see you through. And they will have you carrying them on in their times of need."
"You're certainly talkative today..." she mused softly in response to her spirit, smiling. "By the way... do you have a name I could call you? It's kinda odd to just be saying 'Hey, you' or 'Hey, Spirit'..."
"... Hehehe... Mine's is an unusual name, in part because I'm an unusual person so for simplicity's sake... Call me Sol." The newly identified Sol returned, a faint hint of a smile carrying through his voice.
"Sol, huh...? Nice name..." And that was that as they say. It was time for Alicia and the brothers to part ways now.

"Aww, you don't owe us anything," Elliot said, waving off the statement of debt.
"But you know we'll call you up if we want to see you kick some serious butt again."
Isaac and Elliot took out phones of their own, shooting the girl their info. The Trailmon was slowly coming to a stop, and as much as it saddened the duo it would be time to part ways soon. Once the vehicular Digimon came to a stop, it came down to either staying on the train and being whisked away or getting back on the platform like a pair of normal people. Isaac hopped down first, catching his brother and gently setting him down. They turned to Alicia, waving at her cheerfully. "Bye! It was great meeting you!" Elliot said excitedly, hoping he'd end up bumping into her again soon. Of course, that's what numbers were for!
The two wasn't sure where they'd go next, but that was okay. They'd be able to figure it out on the fly. So far, going into situations without a single plan of action had lead to their best adventures and most fun moments. Until today they had just been survivors, but today? They'd finally made a concrete difference, and intentionally for a change. Now they were bonafide heroes! Maybe they'd get on this Trailmon, see how far it would take them, and go out in search of ways to help make the world a better place. The two turned to each other, nodded as the idea hit them at the same time, and got on board.
Meanwhile, Ferrus dragged himself onto the platform one station down. Ulysses still sat comfortably in his cockpit, tossing out shards of tinted glass. "I really blew it, didn't I, boss?"
Ulysses sure didn't, judging by the distinct lack of earth-shattering kabooms. "Oh yes, completely and utterly. But we're okay, and that's what matters in the end, right?" he asked. A grin returned to his face as the adrenaline of being so close to completing a plan began to fade. He had to admit, when glory was within arm's reach, it tended to change him. He always got a little intense when about to seal the deal on a scam, and this time Ferrus had to pay the price for it. "We'll get ourselves back into the game soon. And then fortune and fame shall be mine forever! Oh, and I'll share a bit with you too."
Ferrus sighed slightly. He was absolutely essential, and always underappreciated, but Ulysses was his friend. Somehow. He'd keep on working tirelessly to make their dreams a reality, no matter which underhanded scheme the Agumon had in mind this time. "I figured you'd say that. And yet, would getting some brain rest not be the smartest course of action for today?"
"Well, perhaps you're right. It is dangerous to push greatness too far in one night. Oh well. To the lair!" Translation: to that one rickety apartment over a particularly dingy alleyway!

Alicia smiled softly and dusted herself off as the Trailmon pulled into the station. "I think that's enough excitement for a little while. I should be allowed to rest and relax a bit myself, right?" She asked curiously. The question was of course directed to Sol, who she felt 'nodding' in the back of her mind.
"Indeed, to drive one's self into the ground trying to achieve too much too quickly has been the downfall of many would be heroes and villains alike. Where will you fall on the scale though, Alicia? You seem to be straddling the edge if that moment of rage was any indication." Sol returned, sounding concerned.
"I suppose I'll have to work that out for myself huh? How about I go somewhere quiet where we can sit down and really chat at length?" She smirked a bit as she noticed the Steel Spirit pause in apparent surprise. Her sudden question must have caught him off guard.
"Well, if you wish to discuss a number of topics with me, who am I to deny your will? After all I am but a spirit reborn now, bound to the one who inherited my power, even if it is only fractions of it for now. Now, now, don't worry kid. You'll gain much more of my strength soon enough, as long as you're willing to seek it out."
Alicia smiled at that, boarding a Trailmon back to the Real World. "Let's go then. I should get to know my benefactor better, hmm? I'm relying on you for everything I can do after all."
The duo went quiet, and the Trailmon careened into the distance with it's only passenger that run. Hopefully if the two brothers wished to reach her, she would be in a position to respond promptly. She quite enjoyed their company too, which was always a bonus.
((OOC: This hunt is now officially concluded and waiting for a mod to approve or deny.))
