It was super late. Juro had managed to sneak out after a long night of studying without his parents seeing. Not that they probably cared. It's not like they ever really saw him that much anymore. All they knew was that Juro was very focused on his studies, which was true, but even the most studious of students needed a break occasionally.
Juro wasn't really sure why he came to the river tonight. He wasn't very fond of it, honestly. It was a steaming dump heap at this point, not like it used to be. There was trash everywhere, and the water honestly didn't even look safe to swim in anymore. Still, the sound and sight of the flowing water set his mind at ease. He walked along the shoreline in silence until something caught his eye. A few feet in front of him, there was a faint glow in the water. He ran over to check it out.
"Curious," he muttered, staring quizzically at the glowing water. Slowly, he began to stick his hand in the water, but he didn't get very far. Out of nowhere, a giant egg popped up on the surface of the water and began floating down river. Without hesitation, Juro grabbed the egg out of the water and studied it closely. It had a nice dark and light purple stripe pattern on it, which kind of matched his shirt. Connected to the egg with a string was a strange device Juro had never seen before. It was a white, oval-shaped device with three buttons on it and little grips for Juro's hands in a black and purple gradient pattern. Juro snapped the device off the egg and examined it for a moment before putting it in his pocket.
"I should take this home and study it more closely," he decided, drying it off with his sleeves. He stood up and took his newfound items home.
