The rift lead to a clearing in the middle of a thick jungle. Elliot squinted his eyes as he suddenly found himself adapting from the blinding light of the portal to the thick, dark understory below. Going through rifts was always far more disorienting than taking the train. Part of that was due to the brightness, part of it due to the tingly feeling of one's body digitizing, and part of it due to never knowing what to expect next. The train was easy. Shibuya's terminal lead to a Trailmon, which lead to Terminus City's station. With a portal Elliot could be in a peaceful field or in a horrifying hellscape with equal probability. He still remembered when a portal just randomly dumped a small child on him and Isaac.
For now he looked around, trying to get a sense of where his friend had went. There seemed to be a few tracks leading into the woods, but they were hard to see due to the thick foliage growing beneath. The few that Elliot could make out all seemed to lead in completely different directions. It was clear that whoever had taken Charlotte was very thorough with covering their path, and that would make searching for the girl a huge pain.
Elliot took in a deep breath, trying to will himself to focus. Isaac wasn't here right now. Neither was Maia, or Alicia, or anyone else he trusted above all. He had to be the mature one and think this through, or else something really bad could end up happening to a really sweet person. He paced back and forth, trying to work up the nerve, before finally taking his Digivice and clutching it tightly to his chest. "Order's wild commander, lead my way! Come on, Strikedramon!" he shouted as a cocoon of light and flame slowly enveloped him.
Perhaps a certain pair of tag-alongs would arrive just in time to see the transformation, Elliot being swallowed up in color and light as Strikedramon emerged in his place. Despite Elliot's best efforts, this just wasn't a secret that was feasible to keep.

Aurora blinded by the light trying to keep George safe. Doing so the tingly feeling of something happening to her body made her lose her balance and her face was planted on the ground. Oh, that hurt a bit.. I should have known that would happen. Let's jump through a magic portal that leads heck knows where without the ability to balance yourself. I should have thought this better. Anyway, not the time to hindsight problems. Let's see where we ended up. thinks Aurie as she stands up and looks around. Her eyes still adjusting she checked if everyone made it. Looking to her left she sees George fell on his butt. That's better that what Aurora had fallen on at least. Switching sides she sees Moonmon already sniffing the air. ' I would guess all these tracks are to mislead us to a different location. Probably split us up and throw off any other pursuers. ' says Moonmon as she hops up and down closing in to Aurie's side. ' Well no use standing here. George, you ok right? ' says with care as she extends her arm and helps him up on his feet. ' Is that Elliot? Hey Ell..iot… What the heck?' squeaks in surprise Aure as Elliot gets engulfed in flames and light. She loses her mind as Elliot transforms to a giant purple lizard looking dragon with a metal plate stuck on his head. ' You were a Digimon all along? Wait you can't be an actual one. Are you like Kamen Rider or something? You know… half Digimon half human? Hmmmm you look cool by the way. Love the metal thing on your face. Looks … mmm…. Mysterious? ' says as she approaches the weird looking Digimon in front of her. ' Sorry. Rambling again. Right Charlotte is danger. Moonmon what do you think? ' says as she turns in still amazed and confused by the new transformation.
George still can't get to his head what exactly is going on. He keeps seeing stranger and stranger stuff. People turning into creatures, teleportation holes, Digi-something monsters. Bouncing exclamation points. He doesn’t get what's going on exactly, but he would do anything Anything! To save his sister. Even becoming a servant to a bouncing ball for a month. This Elliot guy looks like a giant lizard now. Was he always a lizard. He doesn’t know. Seeing his sister amazed as their sibling is still kidnapped made him mad, but he knows she is a bit of an airhead when it comes to geeky stuff and technical terms. Her gaming stuff made her more annoying. There were times she skipped not only dinner, but days. She was always cooped up in her little golden cage. Shaking the thoughts out of his head and he turned also to Moonmon for council. This was his world after all. He would know. Or she. It doesn’t matter now. All that matters is saving Charlotte. NOTHING ELSE.
Moonmon looks around. He seems to harness the power of Digimon spirits. Not bad. He is at least at champion level. He would be difficult to give us the lead, since I can't even make scratch on him. 'I think on the center left I smell Charlotte's scent. But our bigger friend should take the lead. He is our bigger gun now. I am just small fry.' said with a defeated tone on her voice. Waiting for Elliot's probably superior nose to decide being the bigger and more powerful Digimon between them. ' Elliot I know you are upset. I can take the lead. It's better for me to make the decisions. I am the older one and more calm at least for now. But we will need your expertise for sure. Calm Down and let me protect you. Let me take the blame, Elliot. It's my responsibility after all. Also I promised Isaac. He would kill me if anything happens to you. ' says Aurora going closer and closer to the giant Elliot/ Strikedramon was it? Aurie was trying to take all that responsibility off him, not only because he was younger, but because taking responsibility for decision making means he can do a better job lf sharpening his senses. She really hoped to calm him down and reason with him… Wait does he even speak English now that he is a giant Digimon thing?

Elliot nodded as he listened to both Aurora and Moonmon's points. He had to admit that he was somewhat lost in this situation, the heavily disguised tracks confusing him greatly. He may have been able to take Digimon form, but he wasn't a Digimon by nature. He was still very much used to relying on his human senses of sight and hearing, usually leaving scent by the wayside in the process. If the Moonmon could identify Charlotte's scent, she was without a doubt the better leader of the two. If anything, Aurora mentioning that she was better for making decisions than him was more worrying to the boy. He looked at Aurora, voice taut with concern.
"Isaac and I have been doing this for almost a month now. I have way more experience than you," he said. "You might be smarter than me and older than me in the human world, but you don't know what it's like around here. You haven't been chased around by giant monsters, or forced to fight for your life just to make sure the people you care about are going to be okay. Maybe in video games, but this isn't like the games we play. It's real, and it's painful, and it's terrifying. And I don't want to make you have to try and push through this. It's really dangerous, and I'd feel awful if you got hurt. Please, trust me here.
But Moonmon, I'm not a Digimon all the time. I'm human first, and that means your judgment goes on the scent. I trust you. So please, lead the way." He looked very anxious, hoping Moonmon would pick a direction soon so that he could start finding his way to Charlotte. Each second they waited was a second during which she could be seriously hurt.
~~~~
With a smirk on his face, Petermon whistled. It echoed through the trees, who bowed out of his way as if knowing that they were in the presence of their king. Descending from the skies was a great flying pirate ship, cheers and bellows of triumph pouring out from the crew onboard. Some were other lost humans. Others were Digimon, generally smaller and scrappier varieties such as Monmon, Terriermon, and Veemon. They dressed in filthy rags spruced up to look like pirate outfits, all eagerly waving as they saw Petermon bringing a new sister to join them. The forest's sprite took a dramatic bow, receiving adoring applause from his audience. They showered him in flower petals, confetti, and most importantly a thick rope ladder. With this he would be able to ascend back to the command of his ship, and once more lead his Lost Ones into the wild blue yonder.
He motioned for Charlotte to climb first, holding the ladder steady for her.
Aurora knew this wasn't the time to argue. Also not the time to show her superior skills. If Elliot thought he knew best about this things, let him be on the lead. But still protect him on the side. Their first priority is getting Charlotte back safely and secondly not cause any injuries. No one needs to get hurt. It was probably a misunderstanding. ' Alright if you think that is best. But I still need to....' says Aurora, but gets cut off before she even got the chance. ' What are you doing you idiots!! You sit here and squabble who is going to be the leader as the kidnapper and Charlotte get away! Move your butts!' says angrily George. He was furious for his missing sister. Concerned George was a weird thing. He wasn't afraid of anything when he got in trouble, but when his sister was in danger he would be like a wild animal in rattling its cage. ' Blue thing. Where is she? Where do we need to go from here?' commands without asking anyone for permission to take the lead.
Moonmon continues to sniff the air around them. After a couple of more sniff she pick the left road from the one she was facing before. ' I can track her, but if you keep this tone peasant, the "can" will turn to a won't.' says crudely towards George. ' But he is right. If you want to save your human sister we need to move now. No time to lose' says as she starts hopping fast on the path her trusty nose chose. Aurora defeated by her partner's logic opens her mouth to make a comment, but she closes it. ' Alright let's go.' says faking a smile trying to keep the company spirits up. George sighed and run towards Moonmon's direction. ' George! Wait! Don't get the frontline!' says trying to find a way to not get him hurt too. ' Elliot, you coming?' says as she runs towards the direction the other two went.
---------
Charlotte's mind started clearing from the hypnotic state. But not yet. Her mind was starting to function but her body didn't seem to respond to anything she wanted to do. She followed blindly the kidnappers command. And then it happened. A giant ship from the sky appeared before them! With so many weird creatures in it. Weird looking terriers with giant ears, green ones at that. Blue dragon like creatures, and 'green' monkeys with giant slingshot and leopard pants. Her mind couldn't believe anything she saw. And they were all dressed like cute and creepy looking pirates with ragged clothing. The kidnapper, the human-like part fairy-looking pirate creature seemed to be their leader. Their captain probably. Was she suppose to be one of them? Then the celebrations started. Applause and cheering everywhere. She couldn't believe their captain was so much adored. He must be really capable and care for them dearly. The ladder came down and the young captain told her to climb. Although she wanted to resist with all her mind, the smile on her face and the nod she gave unwillingly said otherwise. 'Oh my, What a gentleman. Thank you kind and handsome young man.' says as disgust and horror was her personal feelings. How could she say such a thing! He wasn't kind. He wasn't handsome. He was a bully with the power of hypnotism. As she climbed the stair the only thing on Charlotte's mind was one thing. Aurie and George. She knew they were worried sick not finding her anywhere. They would cause so much pain for them. The emotional burden was so big that a small tear manage to break through the control. A crystal looking tear passed her cheek and smiling face. And it fell to the ground. Like rain.
-----------
Moonmon hopping as fast she could run towards the path she smelled Charlotte's scent. ' Quickly! The scent is getting stronger. They can't be far.' shouts in order for the rest of them to hear. 'We need to careful we don't know who or what captured her. We can't even know if she is still alive. Keep your guard up.' says knowing they could probably walk into a trap blind. Aurora was right behind Moonmon and George. Hope Elliot is still behind us. We are going to need his strength to make sure we get Charlotte back. As they rustled through the leaves Aurie was blinded a bit from the sun. ' Oh man, why didn't I bring my glasses.' says complaining to lighten the mood. But then she saw it. A giant ship sailing the skies. ' What the... flying ship?' says with a voice so surprised. ' How is that thing flying? Magic?' tries to understand as they get closer to it. They were still far from Charlotte's position but they would probably arrive any minute! They must be ready for anything!
Aurora didn't need to tell Elliot twice. He wanted nothing more than to charge into the woods, letting out a battle cry and tearing down the trees that separated his friends from their missing sister. If he could just rush into battle and make things right, maybe then everything would be okay. Instead he had to follow behind Moonmon, knowing that she would be able to follow Charlotte's trail far better than he ever could. He seemed bristly, as if he would snap into action any second now if not for being held back. Surely it'd be trivial to bludgeon his way through the forest, but in his charge he would likely miss Charlotte. Sometimes slow and steady really was the way to go, especially when you didn't know what you were doing or where you were going.
Being the tallest of the group meant Elliot would be the sentry by default, even if he wasn't half as attentive as Isaac could be. He peered from beneath the metal skullcap that Strikedramon was saddled with, thankful that his eyes were already strongly adapted to the shade. Peeking around the understory wouldn't be so hard when he was almost always under darkness. He just wished that Isaac could be there to help. Then maybe he wouldn't be so nervous, and could better be a pillar of strength and optimism for the group. This was one case where he wouldn't try to fake a smile, though. The Digital World was real, and dangerous, and confusing. Pretending everything was okay while these children were in trouble would be horrible of him. Already calling them children, even when he was their age. Elliot was starting to realize just how deeply the Digital World influenced him.
Of course, even with his best attempts at being attentive, he found it hard to notice one particular glowing dot in the forest. It seemed to blend alongside a cloud of fireflies as it slowly drifted out of his eyesight.
~~~~
"No need to be so formal! Just call me Pete," the roguish gentleman said, flashing a grin behind his bandana. "The others are gonna be so excited to meet their new sister. Why don't you go introduce yourself while I wait for the others to get here?" He had to wait behind regardless. Tinkermon was still out on the field, making sure they hadn't been followed. Barely the height of a mote of dust, she was his most crucial operative and essential to the recruitment of future Lost Ones. It was her fairy dust that held the key to putting them in the proper dreamlike haze, finally giving them the strength to fly away from the dreariness of their lives. They they could finally be free!
As if on cue, that was when the little sparkle appeared and began whispering to Petermon. Petermon seemed to pout in response to the news, clearly disappointed in what Tinkermon had to report. "Really? That's all? Man, that's not even gonna be a fun fight. Am I gonna have to switch sides just to keep things interesting?" With a tingling of bells the sparkle vigorously shook back and forth, as if so tiny that she couldn't even express disapproval with just the shake of a head. "Well, if this one's not gonna be fun for me, I might as well let some of the Lost Ones have some time to play. Hey, guys, grab your saws!" He whistled, four Monmon jumping from the side of the ship and eagerly gathering at their boss's side. "You're gonna be having some super-secret fun today, okay? So secret, not even I'm gonna know what's happening! Just go to the clearing to the-" Tinkermon jingled a little. "-West, grab your saws, and when you see some big, scary shark guy start cutting. It's gonna be a great game of lumber tag!" The Monmon nodded and ran off, jostling and shoving at each other to see who would be first to the fight.
~~~~
As Elliot, George, and Aurora came over the horizon, the Monmon settled into position. They lined up two by two at the side of the path, each pair crouched behind a big tree. When the pesky interlopers were in view they began cutting in a frenzy, Elliot stopping short as he heard the noise of metal chewing into wood. "Guys, get back! Now!" he called desperately as the trees began to fall over. Still hidden in the shadows, the Monmon laughed like hyenas and let out mocking cries of "TIMBER". Just to be sure everything would be okay Elliot dashed to the front of the group, buckling down to one knee and doing his best to brace one of the falling trees before they hit anybody. It was unclear whether gravity or the Digimon was winning the fight, but such an impact had to hurt like hell.
Moonmon's reaction to Elliot's command was quick. Seeing the giant log she managed to hop out of the way as Elliot was charging in front of them. As for the other two. it was a close call. Elliot being so massive he is kind of hard to side-step fast. Aurora grabbed George's hand and pulled both of them out of the way barely in time. They both fell on the ground and protected by Elliot's block. ' That was close. George you alright?' says as they both get up. ' We got company, they probably are trying to delay us in order for the others to get away.' says as she tries to understand why are they throwing logs of timber on them, since they themselves are probably way more stronger than funny ambushes. ' Elliot what now? Are you ok? Can you stand?' says addressed to the one protecting them. 'Moonmon can you do that thing you did last night? We need cover to loose those hyena thingies.' shouts towards Moonmon who was trying to discern what exactly where the enemies were hiding. ' On it. Run straight ahead and close you eyes guys ' says as she stopped hopping and stood near Elliot 'MOONSHINE!!' shouts as Moonmon is starting to shine as George and Aurie were already running towards their previous direction. In a matter of seconds a blinding moonlight beam was covered across the battlefield trying to confuse and disorient the attackers in an quick attempt to escape. Aurie and Moonmon agreed even before all this thing went haywire that they won't harm anyone if absolutely deemed unavoidable. Profile
"I'm fine," Elliot muttered, voice obviously strained from the pain. He slowly forced himself to his feet, hurling the tree away with all of his might. The Monmon stared in shock, one of them dropping its saw in the process. "Don't worry about me. We need to find Charlotte first." It was clear that Elliot wasn't doing 100%, but he wasn't going to let that further endanger his friend's sister. They needed him! He couldn't slow down now! Not when everything was on the line like this!
He looked around in the direction of the Monmon who dropped its saw, unable to properly see the monkey Digimon but following the sound that it had left in its wake. "If you were trying to pull a trick like this, I bet you're way weaker than me. Why don't you just run so we don't have to make this a fight?" His voice was shaky. He didn't want to make it a fight on his own, without Isaac there. At the same time, he didn't want the Monmon to slow them down. It seemed that he didn't have the Monmon very convinced, however, because they lept from the trees with their slingshots readied.
Their antics were quickly put to an end by Moonmon's burst of light, though. The flash was made all the worse by the comparative darkness of the forest, and they dropped their weapons in the rush to cover their eyes. Elliot motioned for the group to hurry and run past them all. He was limping, but he wasn't about to let himself stop.
They arrived just in time for Petermon to leap aboard his ship, starting to pull the rope ladder up behind him. Was there any more obvious end to the trail? Maybe it was rash for Elliot to charge first, ask questions later, but he wasn't about to let this strange Digimon escape without answering questions first. With a shout of "Rolling Start!" he flipped forward, using the extra height of his jump to grab at the rope ladder and drag it back down. An intense game of tug-of-war between the Strikedramon and Petermon ensued, Elliot shouting "Now's our chance, guys! I think she's been snatched over here." He wasn't sure how long he could hold this ladder for.
Was he right, or was he wrong? Elliot really hoped that his hunch hadn't misled him.
As they approach the flying ship Moonmon sniffs as she hops forward. The scent of Charlotte is becoming more and more strong. 'She must be on that ship her scent stops around here. The moment they see the Fairy-pirate looking creature to jump on board they notice the wooden staircase leading to the deck of the ship. ' There is our way in! Oh no he is pulling it up. Quickly!' shouts Moonmon in order to motivate the group in hurrying. Aurora was right behind her and even though she was stunned and curious about million things she noticed as they run. Like those new Digimon with giant slingshot. What were those green monkey looking Digimon? Was that slingshot part of their ragged outfit or was their weapon of choice? Are they clever or instinct driven creatures? Or evil minions? But their was no time for such questions. Aurie needs to focus on getting Charlotte back. As Moonmon deduces that her little sister is on the big airship she got even more excited. But their chance was escaping. The ladder was getting pulled towards the ship and their chance to chase them without going up this ship would be impossible. But then, out of the blue, Elliot's voice and his Digimon form leap out and catch the ladder pulling it down to the ground.
From Elliot's voice she knew she didn't have time to think this through. It was now or never. She either climbs the ladder or she loses her sister. This was no game so gambles will either pay or ... or game over, life over to be more precise. 'Moonmon in my backpack! I am going up. Hold the ladder Elliot! Cover my back! George peel your eyes open for the monkey things if they comeback. You are in charge of Elliot's 6 o clock!' says as she makes a jump and starts to climb the ladder.
George was always near Aurora holding her hand. He wasn't afraid, it's just that magical creatures surely could overpower him and stop him whatever his power or determination. Going berserk now would only hinder their chance of getting his sister back. Sure he never was much of a soldier and good little boy, but seeing that giant monster stopping giant longs, air ships and strange creatures existing, he was out of his league. He doesn't know the risks and being able to understand the risks always makes the decisions easier. She nods to Aurie's commands and obeys to the max. He stands close to be protected and difficult to target but not so close to be of a hindrance to Elliot who was tug-of-war-ing with the Peter Pan looking monster.
----------------------------
Charlotte heard Elliot's and Aurora's voices and wanted to shout she was up there. But she couldn't. Her body doesn't respond to anything she wants it to do. She stood there watching and smiling just like the captain said to her. Lost... She was lost.. No says to herself. Those weren't her thoughts. Those... thing weren't her brothers and sisters. She doesn't want to stay there. She has one brother. George. He is the only brother she has. Her eyes were still left with a blank expression. But then it happened. As she saw Aurora jumping onto the rope her heart soared through the air. Her eyes started too widen. But her words said Otherwise. 'Intruders my lost brothers. Intruders trying to board the ship!' Charlotte's mind was at a complete loss. How could she reveal and try to foil her only attempt at a rescue. Did she really needed to be rescued? Or is that the magic dust speaking.... If someone doesn't shake her out of this trance soon, she could be lost forever!!!
Elliot continued to steadfastly hold the ladder as George and Aurora climbed. Interestingly enough, the Petermon seemed to hesitate slightly as he saw them making their way up to his ship. His dagger hand wavered, and it didn't seem like he was willing to draw it against unarmed humans. Fortunately, there was another target he could focus on, and judging by the limp in his gait his Lost Ones had already softened him up nicely. What kind of game would that be, though? It would be so selfish of him to take all the credit without letting the others get their hits in. And Tinkermon always got so jealous when he played with other Digimon than her. It was a pity, but it looked like it would be the Lost Ones' turn to meet their new playmate head on.
Once Aurora and George had climbed, and Elliot followed behind them, Petermon began floating to the back of his ship. Judging by his pose, lying down with his hands behind his head, it was clear he wasn't taking this seriously at all. "Hey there! I was waiting for the new playmates to show up! My Lost Ones haven't had a good tussle in a long time." Speaking of the Lost Ones, they were already arriving by Petermon's side. Charlotte's warning set off the alarms, and they'd already rallied to their master in order to help him fend off the intruders. Naturally, Petermon was pretty displeased with this turn of events. "You guys! You gotta wait until I give you the cue, okay?" he whined, the Lost Ones nodding and quickly retreating to their cabins.
With that out of the way, Petermon flipped out his dagger and pointed it at the intruders. "Lost Ones! It's pummelin' time!" he cried, his troupe of swashbuckling youths bursting from their cabins with new vigor. The Monmons primed their slingshots, the Veemons held their cutlasses high, and the Terriermons flopped their giant ears as if cracking their knuckles. All in all there were about eight Rookies, easily enough to overwhelm a lone champion.
It was a good thing that Elliot wasn't alone. He would have recognized that shout of "Cross Slash!" anywhere. The Strikedramon's grin widened as he saw Isaac, in Yasyamon form, hop onto the bow of the ship. Before he landed he fired an X-shaped blast of wind from between his two blades, sending the rookies scattering out of the way.
"I knew you'd make it!" Elliot cheered, having fired off a desperate text of warning to his brother. Isaac always knew the right moment to arrive. It must have been part of that knack for theatrics he had. "We need to get these guys out of the way fast. Aurie, see if you can get bast them and get to Charlotte! Tailblazer!" Elliot swung, tail-first, and fired a whirling gout of flame at the Rookies. They backed off, walled toward the left side of the ship. That left the perfect opening for Aurie to run past on the ship's right side.
Once she was gone, though, it would be time for Elliot and Isaac to test their mettle against a tide of blades, bullets, and beatings. Would they be able to fight their way through the horde?
As Aurora climbed the stair she saw George after her and Elliot's form to start climbing too. The kidnapper was waiting still. Sure he could just cut the rope with his knife and let them fall to the ground and break all their bones. Not doing that meant that he either had some kind of moral code, or he underestimated them. Or he overpowered them in such extend he doesn't care that much. As she landed on the floating ship she couldn't let her past little girl inside her mind draw a smile on her face. She was on a floating ship, on a strange land, in an epic adventure with their life on the line. As soon as those words came to mind she snapped out of it. Now wasn’t the time for daydreaming. As George finished his climbing, the scene of a children's play unraveled before them where the kids barge into the stage too soon. When that happened she knew they had to deal with people who didn't think of them as much of a challenge. And that exactly will be their downfall. 'Moonmon stay hidden. We may need the element of surprise for the right moment.' whispered to her bag in order not for anyone to notice.
And then the horde of Digimon appeared. Moonmon peaked through the bag and saw the 8 rookies. She knew that a champion, a badly hurt champion at that can't handle them alone. But Aurora's words held her back for the moment. A baby Digimon like her can't handle a rookie by herself and she knew that. Maybe just maybe the element of surprise will give them a chance to retrieve her new servant back.
In a instant a giant digimon with wooden swords and a peculiar mask flew across the air and attacked the ship landing right beside Elliot. From Strikedramon's grin she knew that was their cavalry. But is that another digimon human hybrid or just a friend of Elliot. ' My knight in shining armor!! Well kinda shiny… Mostly wood, maybe magical wood, I would say but that would suffice. Where are….mmmmm. Sorry not the time I know.' started yapping Aurora knowing that was quite stupid and endangering and yeah stupid as her own hand closed her mouth. As Elliot used his tail and digital fire to clean up the way from pirates she dashed towards Charlottes location. She knew she wasn’t really fast as her other classmates in school but she was good at a small sprint. She ran past the pirate looking Digimon crew and stopped in front of Charlotte, George right behind her stuck as a glue.
George sprinted to her sister behind Aurora and stopped in front of her. 'Sis I am here. Are you hurt ?' says as he scanned her with his eyes. No answer from Charlotte. ' Hey sis!! We are here don’t worry we will bring you home.' says as he hugs her tight. Her body didn't move, her eyes didn't express any relief. She was standing there like a statue. ' You are not a Lost One, you are not a brother of mine' says as she shed a small tear from her expressionless eyes. That was their sign she was still in there. Their Charlotte was still in their. They had to find a way to shake her out from this hypnotic state. Then an idea came to mind.
Since this Peter pan looking fella was so generous and so bored she may have been able to sneak an answer out of him on how to wake her up. ' Hey Captain! Oh captain, we both know we will surely lose to this mighty crew of yours' shouts as she starts her theatric performance,' but the only thing we want is one last moment with our dear little sister. Nothing more. Will you be such a cruel and unfair captain to some weak and pathetic humans like us?' says as she tries to trick him into reveal some information about the spell. 'When I use the word moon in a sentence, you use your thingie again to blind everybody so we can run with Charlotte towards the two big guns.' whispers silently to Moonmon who immediately understood her plan of action.
---------------
Charlotte seeing them coming closer and closer couldn’t do much about it. Her body still wasn't listening to her commands. But she saw Aurora and George running towards her she wanted to run and bury herself in their embrace. She couldn’t do that though. As George hugged her tightly her voice as robotic as it sound said something cruel to her ears. Her mind was stressed even more and she wanted to cry. She started shouting. ' George help! HELP! Please help. Make it stop!' Charlotte shouted again in her mind, but nothing. The only thing she manage to break through from this hypnotic state was one single tear.
Her reaction to the Aurora's pleas was even worse. She started to beg and shout for them to leave, but one more time her body was not hers to control still.
The rookies were putting up a surprisingly intensive fight. Even with Yasyamon's speed and reflexes, eight attacks from all directions were far too much to parry at once. A slingshot stone straight to the mask left him reeling, and in that time two Terriermon leaped onto his arms and started trying to pull him down. Elliot struck in their general direction to try and scare them off, but in return a Veemon gave him a powerful headbutt to the back. In desperation he spun in a circle, firing his Tailblazer once again to try and get them to back away. They leaped away from the fire, buying Isaac and Elliot just enough time to form a brief planning huddle.
"There's way too many of them to deal with," Isaac whispered.
"Yeah. And we can't hurt them, either."
"Seriously?"
"They're just kids!"
"So are we! And they'd be laughing their butts off if we got shoved off of this airship."
"But that doesn't mean we have to stoop to their level. Besides, I know neither of us wanted anyone to get hurt today."
"You're right. I'd really like to not get killed either, though. If that means I have to fight them off, I will. Right now, though, the plan's to just scare them."
Elliot looked over his shoulder to check on Aurora, and noticed that Petermon seemed to be hovering dangerously close to their current position. He turned back to Isaac, fiercely whispering "Well, we need to think of something fast! Can you cover me while I check on the others?"
Isaac nodded, smirking behind his mask. "Oh, I know just what to do." The Yasyamon held his sword high, glowing brightly as he started slide Digivolving. His flashy transformation held the attention of the Rookies, who wasted their time ooh-ing and aah-ing as the demon burst into tongues of snake-headed flame. That gave Elliot the perfect time to sneak away and start running after Petermon.
In Yasyamon's place, the flame crystallized into the eight-headed Orochimon. Isaac let out an uproarious laugh as he looked down at the assembled Rookies, who took a step back in shock. They were right to fear the power of an Ultimate! "Come on! There's one of me for each of you!" the serpent boasted, eight heads swirling around each other as they stared each Rookie in the eye. "You still going to fight, or are you just gonna run away?" The Lost Ones looked at each other pensively, then hefted their weapons high and charged at Isaac. It was time for some extreme babysitting!
"Aw, shucks. How could I turn down such a sweet offer?" Petermon said. He stepped aside with a flourish, letting Charlotte's siblings approach her unimpeded. However, he couldn't help but sprinkle in a few words of his own. "Are you sure you want this to just be a visit, though? It's gotta be really boring where you humans are from. Less adventure, more jobs. Less pirates, more taxes. Taxes! Is that really how you want to live your life? 'Cause me and the Lost Ones don't have a care in the world! We just sail the days away, battling pirates, chasing monsters, exploring the wild blue yonder. So many just like your sister, lost, and confused, and frightened, all come to me to get just a little bit of happiness in their lives. Sure, sometimes it takes them a while to follow along, but they all end up loving it in the end! I'm sure you guys will, too. I mean, I hate to break up a happy family."
The space around Petermon seemed to warp as he spoke. The breeze seemed to slow, a light pink fog filled the air, and an overall feeling of tranquility settled on this ship. This was the dreaded Petermon Syndrome technique, where a little bit of illusion and a lot of fast talking started burrowing his beliefs into the minds of children. It had happened to Charlotte earlier, and now he was trying to set it up on her siblings. If Aurora and Moonmon had a plan, now was the best time to set it in motion.
Aurora could recognize a deceitful fast talker when she sees one. Especially that pirate captain guy. She has met hundreds of them in the boring events that her father insists on making her attend. Sure charity was never questioned, but this sleaziness is unbearable to her. Most of them would want her father to invest into their next big thing that this time is going to make millions, other asking for 'favors', which would put her father at risking his neck and his job them, on the basis they are friends and they know each other since 10 minutes ago. I am not going to fall for this charming, handsome, exciting, good-looking.... wait. What is going on? When did this fog appear? I better act fast or I'll end up needing rescue myself, thinks to herself and immediately clears her throat to trying to cut Petermon's monologue. ''Indeed life seems boring, taxes are boring, work is boring. Heck even being a grown up is boring. But you know what Mr. Peter-Pan-I-never-want-to-grow-up? When you finish your chores and go back to your family, or when you cook for someone you love, or even playing with your kids and siblings, who think you are their hero. You can't beat that with pirates, adventure and giant monsters. You won't tempt me even if you promise me the stars or a trip to the Moon.'' Monologues towards Petermon.
In that instant, Moonmon delivers her promise. She jumps out of the bag into the mid air between the captain and Aurora and shouts "MOON SHINE!'' while Aurora turns around and flips Charlotte's body over her shoulder like a lamb and start running towards the already giant purple Lizard. George realizing her surpise strategy reacts the same way and heads towards the safe zone near Elliot. Moonmon envelopes everything in a bright moonlight and tries to blind the enemy pirates. Surprise was the only thing she was good at the moment. The burning desire to protect her new friend, Aurie, was so strong a flame of courage was starting to burn inside her.
Charlotte still unable to control her body couldn't do much in this situation but her hypnotized body couldn't do much but punch her sister's back like an a child throwing a tantrum. Her frail and weak hands though can't do much but bruise a little her back and making it more of a nuisance than an escape plan. She was happy she was being rescued, but sad that she made everyone put themselves in danger for her own mistake. Her body was screaming to let her go but she was glad for once no one listened to her demands. Her eyes closed as the light was too bright to keep them open and kept hitting Aurora's back. 'Here Captain! I am here! Please come rescue me from these thieves!!' starts yelling trying in some way her hypnotized body to reveal her position.
Meanwhile in her pocket Aurora's digivice started making a weird beeping sound. But she didn't hear it in all the commotion. A light from it starting to iminate and Moonmon's tiny blue body was engulfed in a different light than her attack. A more digital light. ''Moonmon digivolve tooooo.... Lunamon!'. What was that? I can't turn my head now until I get near Elliot's Digimon form, so I have to hope Moonmon is alright.. Ouch! Hope I don't have bruises in the morning from all this tiny weak punching, thinks Aurie as she gets closer and closer to Elliot with George already by his side, since he didn't have any extra weight and he is more athletic than her in all honesty.
As the light from the digivolution starts to disappear Lunamon realizes that she is a rookie at last. Maybe her passion to protect this human, scratch that, her partner. The light from her previous attack though was starting to also disappear. She looks towards Petermon and grins. 'Now I can fight too, you ugly pirates. Get ready to be schooled by moi!' says cockily as Lunamon grins and her eyes sparkle with excitement.
Petermon let out a yelp of surprise as the entire world went white. His concentration broken, both the illusion and his otherwise persistent levitation spell dissipated. The king of the kids fell to the ground as gracelessly as a sack of potatoes, rubbing at his eyes and letting out surprised noises. He climbed back to his feet, opening his mouth to issue another order, but before he could say anything he crumpled like a sack of potatoes. Elliot charged out of the blue, spearing the Petermon right in the midsection with a beautiful tackle. He turned back to the trio, shouting "Now's our chance! Let's get Charlotte out of here!" He figured it would be fine if he was the one to distract Petermon, as Isaac was more than capable of focusing on both the Lost Ones and Aurora.
And capable he was! Even as Isaac's heads were busy dealing with Lost Ones, who clung to his many jaws and flailed their swords against his iron-scaled necks, he extended his tail to corral Aurora and her family away from the pirates. "Right this way, please," he said, voice echoing through his eight heads. Now there was a solid barrier of snake between any pirates and the human trio, it seemed they were perfectly in the clear. For his part, Isaac was having a blast too. He juggled a few Lost Ones through whips of his many heads, the pirate kids exchanging giggles and screams alike. Two of them began dueling each other with their cutlasses as they hung from Orochimon's bottom jaws. One, riding on top of one of Orochimon's heads, planted a jolly roger flag right on top of his forehead. Isaac was playing his part of Leviathan wonderfully, all things considered.
Against this backdrop of the rowdy pirates and raging leviathan, Elliot and Petermon stared each other down. The two charged each other, clashing dagger to gauntlet. Both had been banged up and bruised from before, leaving them evenly matched, and it seemed that Elliot would be more than capable of holding the Petermon off until everybody was safely off of the ship. Unfortunately, there was a little mote of light floating around Petermon's head with more than enough power to turn the tide of the fight. As Elliot and Petermon were caught in a clash, the kidnapping Digimon let out a quick two-tone whistle. That was the cue for the light, his ever-loyal Tinkermon assistant, to promptly fling a huge mess of dust in Elliot's face. The Strikedramon stumbled back, blinded, only for Petermon to dive his knife viciously into Elliot's injured shoulder. The pain was severe enough to force Elliot down to one knee, finally turning the tide in Petermon's favor.
As Aurora and her siblings made it near the giant snake that looked like a hydra. They were safe enough, so Aurie could safely put Charlotte down. 'George hold her here. I need to check on Moonmon.' says as she scans the area. In the place of her partner there was a white bunny with moon symbols all on her chest and a weird looking antenna. She must have evolved again, thinks as she continues to scan the battlefield. Seeing that Elliot was tackling the captain and seemed to have the upper hand she was relieved. 'Hey Mr. Snake-guy can you handle the crew? You seem to have your heads full with them.' asks trying to access the situation.
Charlotte was still trying to escape from her 'captors' as she started struggling to loosen up her brothers grip. His athletic nature was too much for her lacking physical prowess. George was holding her tight as the chaotic battle between their giant friends and the pirates unraveled before their eyes. Strange monkeys, dragons, giant bunnies and snakes with multiple heads all of this seemed so unreal to them. But all he could do was protect his sister and hope his giant allies can handle the opposing forces.
Aurora was still looking towards the fight that was going on between the Elliot and the captain. She noticed a strange light moving up and down near the him. She couldn't understand exactly what it was or if it was part of him but after the whistle and the under the belt hit of Petermon she realized that the dear captain wasn't fighting a fair duel. 'Hey Moonmon! Make the fight fair and help Elliot! Kick their butt!' shouts towards her new partner who seemed eager to join the fight.
Lunamon sighs as Aurie used her last evolution. Natural since she didn't introduce herself in the midst of all this mess. 'I got this. My name is Lunamon now by the way.' answers to Aurie and takes a fighting stance. ''Lunar Claws!'' shouts as her claws on her paws extend with a weird dark blue color. She starts running towards the Petermon's location and jumps in mid air . She tries to scratch him with her extended claws in order to give Elliot some time to recover from the wound that was inflicted to him. 'You alright big guy? Can you fight? Or should I 2v1 these guys? I like the odds either way' talks cockily Lunamon with a stupid grin on her face as she lands in front of Elliot.
Petermon stumbled back in surprise, throwing his hands up to his face to protect it from harm. Anything but the face! While a Rookie's attacks hurt far less than those of a Champion, Petermon was never the most sturdy Digimon. He still had to be wary of the Lunamon's blows instead of carelessly running into them, especially when they risked scarring up his face so badly. When the rabbit left to go check on the Strikedramon that he left behind, Petermon took the chance to settle back into a fighting stance. "Tiiiink! They're cheating! Make 'em stop, y'hear?" he protested, quite whiny for someone who sounded so self-assured prior. For better or worse, Petermon basically was just a huge child.
Elliot shot Luna weary smile, attempting to look reassuring. Despite his best attempts, it wasn't his nicest smile. It was clear that Elliot was hurting bad. "I'll just use my other arm," he promised the Lunamon. "Come on! Let's teach these jokers a thing or two!" With that he charged forward, aiming a heavy haymaker in Petermon's general direction. The agile sprite dodged away from it, prepared to stab Elliot in the side in response, but realized all too late that he had been lured into a feint. What he saw as an overextension on Elliot's part was actually a transitional move, putting him into a three-point stance so he could use his right leg to hit Petermon with a powerful donkey kick. The sprite stumbled back, clearly winded. It looked like Elliot wasn't out of this fight just yet!
Tinkermon decided to focus on Lunamon, not wanting to get anywhere near the two brawling champions just yet. Besides, she couldn't sneak attack the Strikedramon when he had a spotter backing him up. She'd just have to take care of her first. "Speed Nightmare!" she cried, flying around Lunamon's head and preparing to stab rapidly with her lance. With how small Tinkermon was, this attack was more like being pricked repeatedly with a needle than being threatened by an actual weapon, but her onslaught was relentless nonetheless.
