An...Unexpected Arrival [Invite]

"What should we do today, Coronamon?" Marshal asked as the two of them got off the train in the Digital World. Today was another pleasant summer day, and Marshal's mother told the two of them they needed to get out of the house for a bit, even though it felt like that's what they did most every day. Marshal wondered if his mother realized just how often he and Coronamon came to the Digital World. If she knew how dangerous it could be, she'd never allow him to go again.
"I'd be alright with going to the beach," Coronamon suggested. "We haven't really been there since that one night in Whitewater..."
"Oh, yeah," Marshal remembered. "That was really weird." As the two of them stepped onto the platform, they immediately locked eyes on someone who was disembarking on one of the other cars that Trailmon was carrying along. Was that...?

Robyn ran as fast as her legs would allow her as she kept glancing at her phone for the time. She couldn't believe she overslept on the first morning she was supposed to arrive at her internship. She had only minutes before her train would depart. The loud whistle of the train could be heard, warning that the doors would be closing.
Robyn quickly rounded the corner, apologizing as much as she could to the poor people she knocked shoulders with, and squeezed her way through the train doors just as they shut. Robyn breathed a sigh of relief, resting her back against the wall of the train. Before she even had time to relax, a slight glow from her pocket made Robyn yelp quietly in surprise and quickly take out her phone. Or what was her phone moments before.
The phone seemed to warp right in front of Robyn's eyes, making her blink a few times to make sure she was seeing correctly. But now, in the palm of her hand, sat a strange looking teal device. Robyn frowned and pressed some of the buttons, wondering where her contacts and information disappeared off to. "Great," Robyn sighed. "What the heck is going on?"
The train slowed to a stop and Robyn took a step out as soon as the doors opened, focusing more on the device than her actual surroundings. It wasn't until the train pulled away that Robyn looked up and silently cursed at herself as she found herself in the completely wrong place. She took the wrong train. How could her day get even worse?

Marshal looked over in shock at the girl who had just gotten off the Trailmon. "Coronamon," he whispered. "I think I know that girl."
"Really?" Coronamon asked. "I've never seen her before. Are you sure you're not just confused?" Marshal could be a little oblivious to people, so he always confused people for others that he already knew.
"Yeah, that's Robyn Drake," Marshal was sure of it. "She's in my class at school, and used to live in America like me, but I had no idea she was a Tamer." Upon closer inspection, Robyn didn't seem to have a Digimon with her, and was staring at her D-3 Digivice with a rather quizzical expression.
"Maybe she didn't have any idea she was a Tamer, either," Coronamon suggested. "What do you say we do the old welcome routine again?"
As much as Marshal was getting tired of showing new Tamers around the Digital World, he couldn't say no, especially not to one of his classmates. He and Coronamon made their way over to the girl. "Hey, Robyn!" Marshal called out. "What's going on?"

Robyn was in the middle of mentally freaking out when she heard the familiar voice call her name. She turned towards Marshal and smiled slightly, glad that maybe she could get some helping finding a train heading to where she needed to be. "Hey, Marshal! I'm glad you're here," Robyn smiled, walking up to her classmate. She opened her mouth to speak again, when her eyes landed on Coronamon. Robyn let out a small yelp as she skipped backwards, not taking her eyes off the strange creature. "What the heck is that?!"

Well, that at least confirmed their suspicions. "Oh! This is my partner, Coronamon. He's a Digimon!"
"Hello," Coronamon said politely, giving a smile and a wave.
"Right now, we're in the Digital World," Marshal explained. "You must be new here, since you don't seem to have your own Digimon with you." Marshal looked down at Robyn's hand to see that she had her Digivice. He pointed to it. "That's called a Digivice. It brought you here. Having one of those means that you're destined to become a Digimon Tamer, like me!"
"She should have had her Digi Egg, though, right?" Coronamon mumbled. "Where could it have gone? Don't suppose someone stole it like they did to Hono's?" Coronamon's questions were soon answered when a tiny blue-green Fresh Digimon scrambled into the station, all flustered. It looked to be slightly injured. Behind it, a giant green dragon was chasing after it.
Marshal sighed. "Some things never change around here." He picked up his Digivice and prepared Coronamon to fight if the need should arise.

Robyn stared as Marshal and the... digimon started explaining the situation. She tried to comprehend the it, but it just seemed too crazy for it to be real. Thoughts rushed through her head. It had to be a dream, right? A really vivid dream.
Robyn was quickly brought back to reality as some sort of blue blob slammed into her chest, nearly knocking her off of her feet. She noticed the green dragon just in time to stumble out of the way, clinging to the creature that now shook in her arms, terrified.

Marshal wasted no time in grabbing the exact card he needed out of the deck. It was always at the top, in case of emergencies. Ever since he had bought this new Digivice, it was a lot more inconvenient for Coronamon to Digivolve, since Marshal always needed to swipe those cards. "Digi-modify!" Marshal called out, throwing the card into the side of the Digivice. "Digivolution, activate!""Coronamon Digivolve to...Firamon!"Panic immediately ensued as everyone else in the train station scrambled to get away from the fight that had just broken out. Firamon lunged straight for the Champion Digimon, which Marshal identified as a green Coredramon. While the two were duking it out, he also took the time to scan the little Digimon that had nestled itself in Robyn's arms. It was a Petitmon, the Fresh Stage form that would eventually Digivolve into Coredramon. The fact that it had immediately gone to Robyn was interesting, but Marshal waited to see how things would play out.

Robyn watched as Marshal's Digimon suddenly changed. "Whoa," she gasped. "This is unreal. I have to be dreaming." She looked down at the little creature that had slammed into her. It was shaking uncontrollably, trying to burrow itself further and further into her chest. "Poor little guy," she said, hugging the little blob tighter. Just then, that thing Marshal had called a Digivice began to glow in Robyn's hand.

Firamon was trying his best to be careful while fighting Coredramon, but there was only so much he could do to prevent destruction in such a tight space like the train station. The only attack he would be able to use here would be Fira Claw, unless Marshal pulled out some cards that could help him out. Digivolving to Flaremon was also out of the question, since he'd probably be too big to fight in the building.
Marshal, realizing that most of Firamon's attacks wouldn't work in the building, grabbed out a card and swiped it. "Digi-modify! Ex-Veemon's Critical Crunch, activate!"
Card Name: ExVeemon
Type: Digimon
Duration: 1 Post(s)
Effect: Critical Crunch- Powers up the target Digimon’s jaw and teeth for a powerful bite attack.
Firamon rocketed towards the Coredramon and crunched down on it with his already powerful jaws, made even stronger by the power of the card. Coredramon wailed in pain as he struggled to break free. Eventually, he did and flew away from the terminal as quick as possible.
Marshal sighed. At least they wouldn't have to fight in the train station anymore. "Should we go after him, Firamon?" he asked.
"As much as I would like to know why he was harassing that Petitmon, I say what's done is done," Firamon told him. "No point in chasing after him now. If he comes back, then we'll deal with him."
Marshal nodded and turned over to Robyn. "Are you okay, Rob-" he stopped because he noticed that Robyn's Digivice was glowing while she held the Petitmon that was being chased. "Oh."

Robyn was stunned by what was happening in front of her. So much was happening so quickly that she didn't even have time to process any of it. The glow from her Digivice stopped just as quickly as it started. When it was over, the little dragon looked up at Robyn, eyes widened.
"Is...is it really you?" he whispered. "Are you...Robyn?"
Robyn was a little shocked that this thing knew her name, but after all of the nonsense that had just happened in front of her, she couldn't really be surprised. "Y-yes," she stuttered. Suddenly, the little one's expression changed from worry to pure joy.
"I can't believe it!" the little creature shouted. "After all this time I've finally found you! I've been waiting around for so long! My name is Petitmon, and I'm your partner!"

Marshal watched on with excitement as Robyn and Petitmon were finally united. This moment was always the most exciting for him to watch.
"That's strange," Coronamon said, having reverted back to his Rookie form after the fight. "Usually a Digi Egg doesn't hatch until a Tamer comes in contact with it, at least from our experience."
"You're right," Marshal agreed. "I wonder what could've happened."

"You're my...partner?" Robyn said with a quizzical look on her face. Did this mean she'd have to care for this thing? There was no way her host family would allow it! She had no idea what a Digimon would eat, how would she care for this thing?
"Yup!" Petitmon said. "I've been waiting for a long time. That Coredramon that was chasing me was actually one of my family members. He was trying to get me to Digivolve, but I have never been able to. Now I guess I know why. I've been waiting for someone all this time, but I had no idea I'd be with a Tamer!"
Robyn frowned. "What kind of family member attacks someone as young as you?"
"He meant well," Petitmon assured her. "No one knew that I'd end up being a Tamer's Digimon, so they probably figured I was...just weak or something."
"Well, I guess that settles it, then," Robyn said, holding Petitmon out and lifting him up. This might have been against her better judgment, but she couldn't just leave Petitmon all alone. She was already getting attached to the cute little guy! "We're going to make you strong!" Petitmon looked overjoyed, and the two of them laughed together. Robyn turned to Marshal and Coronamon. "Thanks for saving Petitmon, you two. I don't suppose you guys would mind helping us make him stronger?"

"Of course!" Marshal said, shocked that Robyn felt she'd even need to ask. "We are classmates, after all. It'd be rude to leave you wondering what to do next. Just know that being a Tamer is a huge responsibility, so you're going to have to clear time in your schedule to train up and take care of Petitmon. I know you're busy and all, so if you ever need help let me know."
"I'll get him trained up in no time!" Coronamon, giving Petitmon an intense look as he punched the air a few times.

Robyn looked down at Petitmon, who almost looked nervous. "What's wrong?" she asked her new partner.
"N-nothing," Petitmon stammered. "I'm f-f-fine." He chuckled nervously. It seemed he was afraid of fighting Coronamon, especially after seeing him change into that big, griffon-like creature. Robyn smiled. Guess her partner was a bit of a scaredy-cat!
"Well," Robyn said to Marshal, "I was supposed to be going to my internship at the Animal Hospital, but I guess that plan fell through. I have all day to spend doing whatever, so I guess we'll tag along with you guys, if that's alright!"

Coronamon noticed that Petitmon was looking really nervous, so he stopped punching the air. "Sorry, kiddo," he grinned. "I'll take it easy."
"Whoa," Marshal gasped sarcastically. "Robyn Drake, one of the top students in our class, is going to shirk her duties and hang out with little old me? I'm flattered. Well, the two of us were just going to hang out in town for a while, if you want us to show you around." He walked out of the train station, and expected Robyn to follow along if she was certain about following them.
