The Spartan Training Grounds was not exactly a place that someone would go to without a partner, but here Halley was. An area of raw machismo, blood, sweat and tears.
The girl was recommended the spot by the Black Salamon X that was partnered with the first human she had met in this world, this village apparently a hotbed for budding warrior Digimon. Plenty of Digimon were often envious of Digimon partnered with humans, many striving to become prime partner material in the hopes that they too could become the partner of a human one day. Seemed like a fairly smart idea to come here in the hopes of scouting out a partner since she didn't have one, right? After all, she WAS on the market when it came to partnership; and having someone with some knowledge towards fighting probably was for the best if she was to be exploring this world.
Still... didn't stop the fact that watching several of the Digimon of varying sizes either train by theirselves or sparring with one another was mighty entertaining by itself! Perhaps the novelty would wear off eventually, but for being still very new to this world in of itself; Halley was still fascinated by the astounding variety in Digimon here. Some were small or like animals, others humanoid and about human-sized; while others were building-sized!
Unfortunately for her, she stuck out like a sore thumb out in the sidelines of the training grounds; she being the only human around the area without a partner. Did not help that she had her D-3 out, pointing it in various directions as if hoping something different would happen on the blank screen of the purple-black device. She was told that once the Digivice started to do something, that was a sure sign that you'd have found your partner or their egg... but as of now, no luck. Honestly a disappointing fact in of itself since a few younger Digimon seemed to had noticed her. Surrounding the girl were a few Rookie level Digimon, they staring at the screen of her Digivice from behind her.
"Is it going to do something?"
"It totally should say we're partners! We'd be great together!"
"This thing sucks. I knew tamers were just frauds."
These were some of the comments from the young Rookie levels. Among them was a Gabumon, Tsukaimon and a rather snarky Dracmon; all crowded around Halley and staring at the screen of the Digivice with her. To no avail though, nothing was happening. The girl sighed slightly in disappointment, mostly since she knew these lil' guys WERE interested in her... but if what Yuu told her about this partnership deal just sort of happening and not being something that can be forced, then they weren't going to be getting anywhere really anytime soon. "Gee... Sorry guys. Tough out of luck, but this thing seems to be super stubborn."
"Gee, I thought it was super easy to become a tamer's partner. I didn't know it was THIS complicated." The Gabumon would sigh, the Tsukaimon flapping on to his forehead.
"I think it's just buggy! Who said that some dumb toy decides who partners up and who doesn't?" The purple guinea pig would moan in annoyance, sticking her tongue at device that the red-head girl was holding; obviously upset she wasn't getting the chance to partner up with a human.
The Dracmon on the other hand sneered, not at all convinced by the device not functioning. "I bet it probably works... Miss Halley just probably doesn't WANT us." The small vampire-like Digimon would say, holding out his hands; the eyes on his palms glaring at Halley.
The girl sighed dejectedly, not at feeling such thoughts. These three lil' young Digimon seemed like nice kids, but what could she do about it? If the Digivice didn't want them, then there wasn't a thing they could do. It honestly broke her heart just thinking about that, but that was sadly just the cold hard truth here. "I'm sorry... I swear, all three of you would make great partners; but it just doesn't like you I think." She would gently say, petting the Tsukaimon's head; her own little way of trying to cheer them up. "Like look, we're just probably not meant together. But if you guys really want tamers, I bet all you need to do is just not give up. You never know after all what will happen in the future, right?" She would smile, glancing back at the unresponsive device. While this seemed to perk up the Rookies' moods some, it didn't exactly help her own situation; did it?
Looks like this venture was a bust huh?
