Certainly every once in a while you need to stretch or get into a mock combat to keep your "digital muscles" going. With a distinct lack of problems [more digital than anything else] and lack of business in general kan was left with very few options. He could travel about and find problems or simply just let them come to him as they were wont to do.
Of course his partner wouldn't allow him to just sit around in his shop all day like back before he was a spirit user. She was quite firm about him having an active schedule even if it was just practice. In order to make sure that he got out of the house and stayed out she would remain home and make sure he didn't come back until he had at least done some form of practice for a few hours.
I should count myself lucky.
He found himself thinking as he passed by one of the many trees in the park. The light in the sky had just peaked and with only a few clouds to cover it he was left under it's heated glare. He wasn't referring to the weather however. He was more referring to one of his abilities.
Many tamers and many spirit users found trouble with fighting the good fight in the open with the inability to hide. For him? There was little trouble and he made good use of it along with all the other abilities his digivolutions granted him.
This place is just about good as any.
Stopping in the midst of a small grassy hill kan dug into his pocket, pulling out his weathered digivice. It's cracked screen hiding it's true purpose rather easily. A small sigh of course graced his lips and his fingers found familiar buttons. It was like that old bicycle that you never quite forgot to ride. A brief flash of light many could pass off as just flare from the windows of the ever present buildings in this city kan found himself in a form that he had almost forgotten.
His form was tall and lank, scaled hands gripped the smooth wood of his scythe. His tail flicked and he felt his eyes roll in their head a bit as his senses felt more heightened than his humans. It was an indescribable power that he had; the indescribable gift that had been given to him. Like a suit he never had reason to put on, the spirit user ran an open hand across the folds of his robe the muscled form underneath unchanged.
They tell you never to drink deep from the well of power; but I don't think they quite understand.
And like that kan began to practice, light swings and floating with the breeze as it came; never quite paying attention to how close he got to the more populated parts of the park...

Kaito Kozumi was out and about. That was rare. Life as a famous pop star required a certain level of...seclusion. However, today was a relatively quiet day, and he was tired of sitting in his apartment. A walk through the park was good for him! It helped to clear his mind of all the problems of his life. Sure, being a famous idol had its perks, but it wasn't without its drawbacks.
On his stroll, he heard a faint rustling in a nearby hill. Slightly startled, Kaito jogged over to a nearby tree and stole a glance at the scene before him. He gasped and fell over at the sight of a strange monster shadowboxing the air in front of him. His cell phone fell out of his coat pocket as he did this, and as soon as it clattered to the ground it began to glow with a mysterious light.
Well, at least I'm not getting mobbed by rabid fans, Kaito thought.

A small slash here, and a floating there Kan paused after a moment and shook his head. He was getting no where with these ludicrous moves he was about to consider stopping by a competitors and seeing how things were going there when he heard a gasp. Eyes widened and the spirit user whirled, scythe gripped in one hand and his other hand coming around defensively.
Lacking enemies, lacking any sort of threat kan felt his confusion grow for an instant before they found the source of the gasp. A human by the looks of it, though with shade he should of been hidden. He shouldn't be able to be seen-..... He felt it click in his head after a moment. He stopped floating and touched down on the ground scythe firmly planting itself in the grass.
"Odd. You look familiar."
He'd lean a bit and narrow his eyes; he could distantly recall a face like this one but it was evading him a bit. He wanted to ask a million questions but he refrained; it would be overwhelming. The phone caught his attention for a moment; the light reminds him of his own device that lay somewhere in his body.
"You shouldn't of been able to see me. But it seems that it has other plans for you."
He glanced at the human again and snorted in derison.
"Can you even guess what's happening?"

Kaito was distinctly horrified. This thing...could talk? It also looked like something out of some Lovecraftian nightmare. His phone had finished glowing, and now looked completely different. It was a strange device with a white body and dark blue grips. He picked it up and held it in his hand for a minute.
"Admittedly, no," he answered quietly. "Who are you? What is this thing?"

There it was, the fear of the unknown and the surprise to go along with it. Something to distract him, anything really; it would be the device itself that gained the attention of the human. It was very similar to kan's incredibly so. There was always that uncertainty of what you were dealing with when you came into possession of one of the digivices.
He shifted slightly, scaled brows raising a bit and his head tilting an inch. The human was quick to assess it seemed, much like himself. He was quick to the point at least; though there was very little he'd be able to ask about right away.
"Well that's the first step to learning isn't it? Not knowing."
The spirit user paused and blinked. There was two questions of course he could ask; and he certainly found them right away. His name was meshed together when he spoke the digital name being longer and stronger overriding his physical, it sounded like two voices speaking at the same time.
I am Reavermon[kan]. That is a digivice; a powerful tool for those with will to use it."

"Reaver...mon?" Kaito repeated. That was a strange name. "So, this is a Digivice. I could swear I heard a fan talking about one once." He looked up at the horrifying, grim reaper-esque form. He wasn't entirely sure if he was safe here, but he figured diplomacy was the best option. "My name is Kaito Kozumi," he introduced.
Kaito looked back down at his Digivice. Reavermon had said that it held a great power, provided that he had the ability to use it. Figuring that this...guy(?) was the only person around that would be able to help him figure out how to use it, Kaito decided to be brave. "I don't suppose you'd be able to show me...how to use this?"

"Yes. Reavermon[kan].
Another head tilt and he felt his eyes narrow a bit; fan? Talking about it once? There must of been connections, most people that don't know of the digital have no recolection of the events past maybe a few months. He must of been chosen before but simply never was found. He introduced himself too; the name rang a bell and then it caused the spirit user to pause again.
"That is awefully strange for an idol be chosen. Perhaps before you walked the path... it picked you; but merely waited for someone else to greet you."
He tilted his head a bit following the eyeline of the idol; it was incredibly strange of course. But every digivice had it's reason did it not? His next question of course put the spirit user in a bind. He could explain quite thouroughly; provide a demonstration... attack the other or even perhaps leave them guessing. The spirit user decided against three of the courses.
"I could show you yes, I could even lay out how to work the buttons but... with each of us it's a different feel. My change happened in a time of strife you see; fighting against those that did wrong."
He'd shrug a bit and lean on his scythe.
"You seem to have a more tame awakening so to speak. When you look at it what feels right to you? What button speaks to you the most? Mine never gave me the option to choose; thus the broken view."

Which button? That seemed like a strange question. Kaito did a quick look over of the device and noticed a button on the left side. Instinctively, he pressed it with his thumb. All of a sudden, the device came to life, the screen lighting up with a bright blue light. A black music note popped up on the screen, signifying...something. Without warning, Kaito began to be enveloped by the light emanating from the device. When the light cleared, Kaito's form changed completely. He was much shorter, and seemed to have two extra arms. "Wh-whoa!" Kaito exclaimed. "What's going on?"

The spirit user watched the human for a few moments; curious to see what may emerge. Was he a spirit like himself? Or perhaps he just had the tool but simply a partner elsewhere? A flash of light and the human was engulfed by it almost immediately.
It's rare to see a spirit's first change. This is a treat I'll likely never get to see again.
He didn't recognize the digimon that stood before him, in fact he couldn't even take a stab at the name. Though he could compare it to a monkey wearing headphones and extra arms coming out of its head. He'd tilts his head ever so slightly before chuckling.
"Have you ever heard of the indians? They had a belief of spirits and such, many of which were animals. I'd like to think that this is something along those lines, but where their's did actions behind the scenes yours will do something a little more physical."
He shook his head and lazily glanced around; there was no one to be seen. Thankfully the park seemed a little more dead than he had expected. Specially with an idol walking about. He had more time to explain.
"This is what we call... S-Hybrid. It's the first step on a very powerful staircase. There are others but you will likely have to search for them once you are ready."
He'd cross his arms and sigh, the scythe staying in place while he did so.
"Think of this form as another body, but it's yours and the spirit that is allowing you to use this form is yours in a sense... But..."
He'd frown and close his eyes.
"Mistreat the power, or forget your place and it'll consume you. It's a foutain of power within reason."

Kaito stopped and listened to Reavermon's explanation. "I see," he muttered every so often between dumps of knowledge. Reavermon's comment about consuming him if he misused the power was a little...concerning, but Kaito figured it wouldn't be as much of an issue.
After a few moments, he noticed that the device was still in his posession. He grabbed it and messed with the buttons. After a few seconds, a small menu popped up and gave him what appeared to be a status screen from a video game. The name at the top read, "MCmon."
"Well, what am I supposed to do with this newfound power? Does it have some sort of origin? How do I search for more?" The questions seemed endless, but Kaito was determined to find out more about this.

He was taking it in stride rather easily; there would be more questions he'd presume but he simply waited as the other took in the information. The digivice unlike his own remained in the real. It was another difference it seemed between the two of them, it wasn't too terribly strange all considering.
"Find your path I suppose, the digital realm, often called by youth as the digital world. Which is this power's origin."
He'd pause and muse over, the spirits he had worked with were always very secretive and would usually inform him as to when to search for more power once they felt he was ready.
"Your spirit once it feels you are ready will likely let you know when to search for more. It's all a part of whatever journey it has in mind for you."
He'd shrug a bit and lean forward.
"I suppose the real question is what do you want to do with this newfound power? Not what you're supposed to do with it; that'd be silly if there was some absolute you had to follow."

"The Digital World, you say?" Kaito was suddenly intrigued. "You had my curiosity, Reavermon, but now you have my attention." Could this be an excuse to escape the shackles of his life? The possibilities were ever increasing, and felt nearly limitless. Kaito was a bit unsure what he was meant to do with this power, but it still excited him. "If you don't mind, I'd like to go to this...Digital World. Can you take me there?"

Yes. The digital world. Realm, realms. It's kind of vague in the name really.. but in essence it is there there."
He blinked a few moments, only curiosity before? What sort of thing would have to go out of it's way to grab his attention? That would be a bad habit ot keep in the digital world. Noticing the little things and the the problems that came with it often led to the better and brighter.
...eager to go it seems.
The spirit user stretched and hummed softly; he made sure to take a look around before snorting.
"I could take you yes, it's always a treat to see the first reaction of someone new there. Though you might have to refrain from using your spirit while in the real. You can't hide like I can. Or at least I presume you can't."

Kaito nodded. Messing around with the buttons on his device seemed to do the trick, and as soon as he had transformed into MCmon, he was back in his normal human form. "As if being in my normal, human form wasn't conspicuous enough," he chuckled. "Of course, I've developed a certain knack for blending in with crowds because of it." He dusted himself off and put the device on his waist. "Now, where do we go now?"

The spirit user would tilt their head a little bit; watching the other fuss with their device if only for a moment. It was as though they were dealing with something they have had for their entire life rather than for a few instants. Then again it was always like that; they always felt natural to those that they were meant for.
Maybe that's why...
He'd shake his head and straight slightly, keeping his eyes level with the other.
"Most people would question a small blue monkey running around. But if that's the case, at least we don't have to worry too much."
Kan would glance about and snort.
"where do you go when you can't use a car in this place? The train station, and that is where we will go Kaito. To the train station."
