Ashers to Ashers, Dust to Dust (Gee I wonder who this is)

Screw hope. At least Elliot wasn't willing to beat up his brother. That's all that really mattered, wasn't it? "Never know. People cope in weird," possibly murderous, "ways." Of course, it was just Asher's attempt to justify all of this, wasn't it? Was it him that was coping with the pain through blaming himself?
Eyes widened, watching Isaac getting ready to hurt his own brother. "W-" Forcing himself to stop his own words, the crow watched helplessly. After all, this wasn't something that Asher could really stop. He didn't have the energy to continue fighting, if Isaac didn't stop his brother, anyway. So, instead, he just turned his head and cringed. This really just felt like Asher's fault. If he hadn't been here, or at least kept in touch with Elliot, it wouldn't have happened like this, right? The kid wouldn't have needed to be stabbed!
Standing back still, the crow watched as both brothers returned to their human forms. Was it smart, considering they were still in the Digital World? Probably not. But, he couldn't judge them for it. Especially considering it was becoming just too painful to hold his own form. Giving up on just dropping to a lower stage, feathers dispersed as inconspicuously as possible, returning the teen to his own human form.
Oh, it still kind of hurt. Nothing seemed to be bleeding, at least. But, turning his hands over, a couple small scratches were still visible. He could only imagine how the rest of his body looked. No way was he going to be walking around the house without a shirt on for a couple days! Piper would be happy about that! At least using a form with a mask kept his face mostly safe, aside from the tiny mark that remained under his eye from Elliot's attack. Still far more tolerable than Yatagaramon found the wounds. These didn't even hurt! Yet, at least.
Still, was he going to just stand off to the side, or should he say something? The thought of talking to Elliot stung more than any of this adventure! But, was it really okay to avoid him when he was right in front of him? Especially with the fact that the kid was crying. Asher just couldn't handle this!
Another deep breath. He could do this.
"Don't sweat it," he finally spoke up, walking toward the two with a smile. At least be convincing that this isn't horribly uncomfortable! "Do you know how screwed we were? Elliot, you saved us." Totally ignoring the part that Asher was the next target, of course! "You did really well, alright?"

Elliot looked around as soon as he heard Asher's voice. "Huh, Asher?" he asked between sniffles. "What are you doing here? When did you even get here?" He stepped back slightly, blinking back tears as he started looking back and forth. "And that Yatagarasumon isn't here either anymore, is it. I guess that . . . oh . . ." Realization slowly dawned in Elliot's eyes, his walking stick clattering from the ground in shock.
He practically flung himself at Asher, grabbing the older teen tightly and burying his face into his chest to hide the tears. "Oh god, I'm so sorry! I didn't know it was you! I . . . when Gargoylemon gets really pissed, it just lashes out like that! Please, please, please tell me I didn't hurt you or anything like that."
"Elliot, it's fine," Isaac tried to say. "He's right. You saved our lives. I don't think we would've ever found the exit to this place if not for you, let alone been able to fight out way out of here." That wasn't entirely truthful. It was two against one, and Vademon's attacks were starting to scream desperation maneuver. However, it was clear that Elliot made the fight far faster than it would've been otherwise. "We can't thank you enough for bailing us out of this. Please, don't beat yourself up."
That said, Elliot was not budging a spot from his current place nestled against Asher's chest. "Give him a minute. He'll burn himself out on crying soon," Isaac explained, somewhat sheepishly. "Anyway, as soon as we're done we should probably try to get out of here, right? Especially, considering, you know." Isaac gestured towards the dazed Snatchmon, who was finally starting to stir once again. "You've both had a hard day. I'll handle it?"

While debating on answering the questions, it seemed that Elliot came to his own accurate conclusion. And, oh no, was he going to cry some more? Asher never really knew how to handle crying people! And, with Isaac there, it was fifty times more awkward. Big brothers had a tendency of being pretty protective!
Hearing the walking stick drop, any concerns about the situation went with it. Hands reached out to make sure that Elliot wouldn't stumble, wrapping tightly around the boy the second that he was close enough. Yellow eyes flickered to Isaac, briefly, before lowering his face to hover just above the younger boy's head. "Isaac's right, it's fine," he murmured, trying to reassure the younger of the brothers. "I'm not hurt." At least, not very! "You didn't do anything wrong."
At least Isaac seemed to be playing along with Elliot being a hero. Asher would have been livid if he hadn't! Not that the redhead had much energy left to really fight over the matter, anyway. Lifting one hand up, to run through Elliot's hair, the older teen shrugged slightly. "Crying's fine," he tried to reassure, lifting his head to look at Isaac, "I'm not in a big rush." In reality, Asher never had been in a hurry. Considering the spirit user had assumed that only one of them would ever leave this place, Asher had already concluded that he wasn't likely to leave anyway!
The actor flashed a smile to the other teen, "go for it." Really, he wasn't all that tired! But, as far as Asher was concerned, his primary focus was on Elliot for now!

Elliot sniffled a little bit. "But that's not true. I did do something wrong," he said, leaning out from Asher's chest. Thankfully, at this point most of his tears had dried up on the older teen's shirt, leaving it a damp mess. "I didn't have any control over my form. I let my emotions get the better of me, and I couldn't even think about what I was doing. If something went wrong I could've seriously hurt you. God, I would've never forgiven myself . . ."
"We can work with that later," Isaac said, his voice shifting in mid-phrase as he began changing back to his Devidramon form. "But now's not the time or the place. What matters now is that we couldn't have done this without you, okay? This place is way too big for just the two of us, especially when neither of us are at our 100%. And a fight just isn't the same without you having my back during it."
Elliot let out another soft sniffle. By now Isaac's prediction was coming true, and Elliot was basically out of steam. The exhausted boy flopped onto Isaac's back, a draconic tail guiding him into a more safe and comfortable position. "Could you make sure he doesn't fall off or anything, Asher?" Isaac asked. "I don't think he's in any position to grab on in his current state, and I'm gonna need all my arms free in case something tries to follow us out of here. If you could take a form capable of fighting and riding at once, that'd be great too."
Elliot knew what that meant. "Uh, Isaac, I don't think that's a great idea . . ." he started, a small blush already starting to spread across his face. Why did both of Asher's main forms have to be so hot?
"Ah, c'mon. I know you want to look out for the guy, but he's way tougher than he looks. If it wasn't for him having my back, I would've been in a real jam. So what do you say, Asher? We doing this?" The Devidramon arced its back so it could better get a look at the ceiling. As soon as both Asher and Elliot were onboard, he was going to burst right through the hole Vademon left behind.

Elliot was way too sweet of a kid, wasn't he? The teen's stomach twisted, thinking about how much he had been ignoring the boy lately. It was so wrong. All of this was just so messed up! Asher wasn't even paying attention to his shirt being wet. Just as long as Elliot was going to be alright. "I don't think you did anything wrong," Asher tried to reassure, "you were just being a good brother." After all, even out of control, Gargoylemon hadn't targeted Isaac!
But, Isaac was right. They really couldn't just stand around here forever. It wasn't safe! Flashing a curious glance to the younger boy, Asher gave a shrug. Discouragement? At least Isaac seemed oblivious to potential reasons why! "I swear, you just want a girl on your back," he teased, sticking his tongue out at the Devidramon while coding wrapped around him. At least digivolving seemed to be getting easier for him! And, likely to Elliot's 'favorite' form, too, as Kinkakumon moved to take a place behind the younger boy.
While Renamon would have been a little easier for being delicate with Elliot, as far as potential combat went, it would be far less useful. At least with Kinkakumon, he could actually do something if need be! Plus, Asher just wanted to show off that he had enough energy to maintain more than a sprite right now! That might be an accomplishment for a newbie, right? Okay, being able to use this form probably wasn't that spectacular, but still!
Either way, he was really hoping for smooth sailing on this exit! Eyes shifted to look at the younger of the two. Was he already that tired? Gargoylemon must be awful to maintain, or something. Then again, Asher had to remind himself that Elliot was still a kid in comparison. And, still had beaten the crap out of Vademon quicker than Asher and Isaac could have. "I'm in. Are you ready?"

Elliot didn't seem to agree with Asher, but he was far too tired to argue. Hell, he was far too tired to even respond. Isaac gave him a gentle jab with his tail to confirm he wasn't dead, earning a light groan in response. It seemed Elliot was going to be as ready as he could ever be, if only because he was way too unfocused to not be ready. With that done, it was just time to wait for Asher to get changed.
Asher seemed more than willing to tease Isaac over it, anyway. "Nah. I've got all the girl I need with Maia, trust me," Isaac said, Elliot gagging a little. "Besides, I never said it had to be Kinkakumon. You could've always just turned into Yatagarasumon and perched on my shoulders or something like that." Was that even feasible? Isaac sure seemed to think so. Regardless, it was too late. Now Kinkakumon was here, and Elliot let out a small gulp of nervousness as she climbed behind him.
"Alright, guess we're both as ready as we'll ever be. C'mon, grab Elliot tight so we can blow this joint!" Isaac cheered, flaring out his wings. With a few hefty smashes of his wings he rocketed off into the air, sailing as far up through the air as he could in a single burst of energy. "I'm gonna need you guys to keep an eye out, okay? 'Cause I know these guys aren't gonna let me go easy."
Surely enough, on the ground floor, Snatchmon reached into its pocket for a walkie-talkie. It started slurring into the device, voice clearly angry and exasperated. Even in its incomprehensible alien tongue, two words would have been audible for any human speaker; "GET THEM!"
Was it any surprise that trouble was hot on the trio's tail? As Isaac continued sailing through the vertical purple corridor, holes in the wall started sliding open. Missimon came out from each wall, their eyes flashing as they started homing in on Isaac's location. There wasn't any room for barrel rolls or evasive maneuvers, and while they were very small Digimon they were also gathering in quite the thick flock. If they were able to catch the group, Isaac had the feeling things could get ugly.

"Sorry to interrupt that logic, but I don't think it'll work that well," the spirit user was quick to point out. Not that he wanted to return to Yatagaramon after how much it had been injured. Surely, it couldn't be as easy as de-digivolving and then jumping right back into that body, right? "And, it's a lot easier to hold onto Elliot with arms." What about that logic, Isaac?
Being careful, the Kinkakumon placed an arm around Elliot, clearly not what one would define as tight. But, humans were squishy! And Elliot was small! It was definitely a good thing that Asher didn't have much in the way of problems with how much strength he put into anything. "Right, right," the teen hummed at the dragon, while bracing himself and Elliot for the takeoff. Riding on a flying monster was a little less fun than being the flying monster! Though, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't worried about the other passenger!
But, of course, Isaac would have to be right. Nothing could just let them leave, could they? Ugh! This day was supposed to be relaxing! Not a single thing that had occurred here was even close!
Shifting, the teen looked behind them, only to let out a groan. Okay, what was a good way to get little missile monsters off their tail? Really, there probably wasn't one. Moving his free hand away from Elliot, Asher mulled over the options for a second further. He really didn't know much about Kinkakumon's moves! Yatagaramon's had just come naturally, and Renamon really hadn't fought anything yet. Why was each form a little different? Or, very different, really! Sparks formed in the spirit user's hand, rapidly forming into a ball. Could this really be thrown, though? Ah, only one way to find out! Ignite the Spark rippled in Asher's hand, briefly, before being whipped toward the Missimon. Okay, learning lesson, the orb wasn't just trapped in his gauntlet! Now if he could just figure out how to use the rest of the oni's attacks, everything would be great!
Also, if the attack actually hit any of the little monsters, it would be great. But, maybe that was just asking for too much! Since when did Asher have any luck? ...He needed to stop being so negative all the time!

Isaac wanted to point out that Yatagaramon had not one but three feet to use to help keep Elliot safely held, but he was currently a little too busy going disgustingly fast. At this point, Elliot was practically holding onto Asher for dear life in order to avoid falling off. Sure, now he was mashed against the world's prettiest wall of pure muscle, but something told him a bit of embarrassment was preferable to a whole lot of death. "Please don't drop me," he mumbled, the tone of his voice almost pitiful. How could Asher ever say no to that face?
Thankfully, Asher had the solution to the group's problems in the palm of his hand. The Ignite Spark flew at the lead Missimon, who quickly dove out of the way in a panic. A large portion of its brethren failed to follow suit. The second Missimon burst into a flaming explosion, each other Missimon detonating in a chain reaction. Only a few stragglers at the edges who saw the explosion coming and quickly broke ranks managed to survive. What was once an army at Isaac's tail was now about three or four Digimon, who were promptly swatted right out of the sky by a hefty tail smack from Isaac. They spiraled downwards, far too dazed to give pursuit anymore.
"Heh. I couldn't see any of that, but I get the feeling that was one nice shot," Isaac said, smirking a bit. "With Elliot being my eyes and you being my muscle, we'll be out of here in no time!"
Isaac really needed to learn to stop opening his mouth. A small shape seemed to appear at the other end of the hallway, approaching the group every bit as rapidly as Isaac was trying to escape. It seemed to be some sort of hovercraft, almost like Vademon's UFO. Isaac didn't seem too daunted by this. He extended a claw forward, his nails glowing an ominous red as if daring the mysterious entity to try and play chicken. "Almost . . ." he muttered, far too fixated on escape to let himself be stopped.
Unfortunately, he didn't count on the hovercraft having arms. A pair of boxing glove tipped arms burst from the machine's sides, one redirecting Isaac's claw and the other punching him square in the jaw. It didn't stop him, but it sure did a good job of slowing him down. From there the strange UFO, piloted by a tiny, grey creature, backed up and extended its arms like a soccer goalie. If Isaac was going to pass, he'd have to get through this CatchMamemon first.
The two chased each other at a much more controlled pace, CatchMamemon shifting its arms to block any direction Isaac tried to weave around it from. After establishing that Isaac wouldn't be passing anytime soon, the Mamemon piloting the craft pulled a lever. The slot machine wheels at the front of the UFO began spinning, coming up on a trio of lemons. Suddenly, two large, explosive lemons appeared in the UFO's hands, CatchMamemon pulling a few more levers to hurl them both right at Isaac and Asher.

The spirit user looked at Elliot, tightening his grip ever-so-slightly. "I'd never," he hummed, trying to reassure the boy. Talk about a big flip, from being a terrifyingly aggressive monster to a cried-out child. Personality changes like that were not something Asher would be able to get used to any time soon! Did spirits really take that much toll on a person's thoughts? Gargoylemon was kind of a nightmare!
Luckily, Ignite the Spark was way more effective than the teen had expected! Mostly because, well, missiles. Was that considered digital murder? Eh, it was really best not to think about it too much. "Yeah, I think we're good for now," the Kinkakumon's lips twitched into a slight smirk. Don't get cocky. One misstep because of pride could be all it took to let Elliot get hurt, after all!
But, now, there was another obstacle. In the form of another UFO. Okay, this alien theme was going a little too far! Did Vademon do this on purpose? Digimon were weird. And -- Oh. It just punched Isaac. Steadying himself a little, the oni began snickering at Devidramon's misfortune. It didn't seem like it was that bad of a hit, considering they didn't fall from the sky, so Asher found it just fine to make fun of him. After all, it wasn't every day that someone got punched by a UFO.
"Are you seriously being stopped by a flying slot machine?" Asher found himself asking, as he shifted his bat to better hold it in his free hand. He always hated those missions in video games that involved keeping the incredibly vulnerable person safe. Maybe it would be easier in real-life, though.
Speaking of life, wasn't there a saying about life giving people lemons? Because, it really felt like a suiting statement for right now! But, ah, what was the rest of it? Making lemonade just didn't suit the situation! Would throwing them back suffice? It would have to. Or, at least, it would have to explode not directly in front of Elliot! That was the main goal!
While using a bat would be far easier with access to both hands, the spirit user didn't fully trust Elliot's ability to hold on without assistance, so one arm would have to do! While he couldn't do much about both lemons, Asher swung his bat as hard as he could with only one arm, trying to knock at least one of the explosives away from the human in the group. And, just in case it exploded on contact, he had managed to pull Kinkakumon's cape up to cover Elliot a little better. Safety first, right?

Thankfully, as far as escort missions went, Elliot was a really easy one. He was already exhausted, and even at his worst he tended not to be too disagreeable. Even when he was disagreeable, Asher was important enough to him that he wouldn't want to raise a fuss. That meant Elliot was perfectly content to sit wrapped up in Asher's cloak. The fact that he didn't want to show off how much he was blushing right now helped too. As a result, it would almost be like Elliot wasn't there. Only a slight amount of shivering from nerves and guilt would spoil the fact that he was still present here.
Isaac's presence was far more visible, the Devidramon tilting on his side to avoid being hit by the other lemon. The lemon exploded into the side of the cave's walls, causing rubble to rain down. If any Missimon were going to try and join the pursuit, they'd find themselves in for a surprise. Equally in for a surprise was the CatchMamemon, who was slammed right in the forehead by its own thrown lemon. The explosion sent its UFO spiraling out of control, even as it extended its arms to try and avoid losing its blockade position.
That opened a major opportunity for Isaac, who charged underneath the UFO as it wobbled back and forth. With that opportunity opened he wheeled around, blasting a cloud of dark, chilling gas right in the Mamemon's face. It coughed and sputtered, Isaac taking advantage of its blindness to charge away as fast as possible. A light was starting to appear at the end of the tunnel, a tiny window of opportunity for the group. With each smash of Isaac's wings it grew closer and closer, the musty, stale air giving way to the crisp warmth of the desert.
In the distance, Isaac could hear the sound of a slot machine being pulled.
Flap. Ding!
Flap. Ding!
Flap! At this point, the exit was within arm's reach. As Isaac stretched to try and reach it, he heard the third and final ding.
Immediately, a laser grid sprung up in Isaac's face. He barely stopped short enough to avoid flying face first into it, eyes wide with shock.
As the distance CatchMamemon approached, there was an incredibly smug grin on his face. His reels read BAR BAR BAR, and Isaac groaned in agony at the awful pun. "You can't be serious," he muttered under his breath. "What are we gonna do,, guys? Keep him back, or bust through this gate?" (Isaac used Black Frost - Devidramon belches out a cloud of bone-chilling gas. It is pitch-black in color, making it very hard to see coming in the darkness. CatchMamemon used BAR - Summons a durable grid of hard light in order to block off hallways, doorways, and other narrow chokepoints.)

Okay, yeah, it was way less fun being the rider and not the flyer! At least, so far, Elliot was still safe. That was all that really mattered! "Feeling alright?" Asher found himself checking on the boy, just to be positive that everything was okay. After being a crazy monster, and now taking a very dangerous ride on a dragon, it was best to be sure!
At least that lemon had succeeded in returning to it's owner. Now Asher wasn't going to have to worry about it exploding in his face! Or, in Elliot's, really! And, it seemed like the trio was about to hit freedom! But, not everything was as it seemed, unfortunately. The first ding was an indicator that escaping wouldn't be this easy. Then a second.
Ugh, what was it going to be now?
A fence! Sort of. The teen let out an irritated groan, almost simultaneously with Isaac's, while resisting the urge to just try to break the CatchMamemon into little pieces. But, no. He couldn't. Especially not with Elliot present! This kid was like an external conscience, keeping the spirit user in line! And, keeping him feeling absolutely terrible for even thinking about murdering some weird UFO monster!
"I don't know," the Kinkakumon mumbled, eyes flickering between the grid and the enemy. "Is busting through the gate even possible?" If it was, it seemed that it would have been the option that the oni picked! Mostly to avoid unnecessary violence in front of Elliot, of course. But it was the best option to hopefully escape sooner, anyway!

"I'm okay," Elliot repeated, voice somewhat soft. It wasn't clear whether this was due to his fatigue or his fear, but his voice was little more than a whisper. Nevertheless, he tried to look strong for Asher, matching his gaze to avoid appearing as fragile as he felt. There was an indignant huff to his cheeks, as if he was already sure his facade was fading but still trying to cling tightly to it. "Are you okay? And is there anything I can do to help you?" he added, as if it would even be possible for a tiny, scared boy to help out a giant amazon.
Asher asking if breaking through the gate was possible seemed to make Isaac all the more insistent on trying. He lashed out at the hard light bars with his claws, the slashes deflecting off of their curved surface. "Don't think I've got the right tools for it, but I'll be damned if I just give up," Isaac muttered. A few more slashes glanced off of the fence, tiny chips of light shattering off. A slashing weapon definitely wouldn't be the right choice here. While the bars seemed to be fading slightly, it seemed far more due to the natural passage of time than Isaac's efforts.
CatchMamemon continued to approach, but this time Isaac was prepared for it. He breathed a stream of green fire on the walls and ceilings of the corridor. The flame seemed to adhere to each wall, lashing out at CatchMamemon as they snaked forward. The alien invader was kept back, its craft too bulky to allow it to pass through the flames without being seared. Instead it kept back, pulling on its slot reels once again to try and find a tool to escape from this situation.
This time Lady Lucky produced three bells, the UFO daintily pulling a bell and mallet out from its storage compartment. It began slamming the bell with the mallet, ringing it to try and extinguish Devidramon's flames with high-pressure sonic force. Thankfully, sound waves were far less effective than actual wind for this purpose, so the flames were going to take a lot of time to go away.
That opened up a chance for the brothers and Asher to make their way out. Isaac continued trying to chip away at the bars, a few more shards splintering off. Elliot simply looked to Asher, waiting to see what he would do. In either case, escape was tantalizingly close. Isaac used Chaotic Flame - Devidramon breathes green flames into the ground, trails of fire snaking away in a disorderly fashion. Often used to cut off a foe’s escape routes CatchMamemon used BELL - Produced a bell from its storage compartment, ringing it loudly to move weak projectiles with concussive force. Also very harsh on the ears.

Oh, good. Elliot was responsive! For the most part, Asher had been making sure that the boy hadn't been squished, or unconscious! "Me?" With a tilt of the head, the oni grinned and gave a small scoff, "I'm doing great!" Never mind that this was probably the longest, most physically challenging, amount of time that Asher had ever maintained Digimon forms for!
"Just try to stay awake, alright?" That was really the only thing that he could request from a child! That way, at least Asher could have an easier time monitoring Elliot. An awake person was far better to gauge, after all! And, they were less likely to become a big ragdoll.
But, it really was starting to look like it would be impossible for Isaac to break the barrier. Rolling his eyes, the oni looked back to CatchMamemon. Persistent, wasn't it? At least Devidramon was capable of keeping it at bay. Don't try to kill it. Not in front of Elliot.
Cautiously, the Kinkakumon slid forward, to be in range of the grid. Focus on escaping, not beating annoying aliens to a pulp! With a deep breath, the spirit user lifted it's bat again. Tightening grip to avoid throwing the item, Asher tried to put some sort of thought into what moves the spirit might have. Ah, was was that one earlier? It seemed fitting for the situation. Oh, right! Explosive Funeral!
...How did he suddenly know the name of these attacks, anyway?
Not that it was very far off from the title. As long as the swing connected with the grid, it should cause an explosion!
As an afterthought, the teen pulled Elliot closer, into the cape. Keep the precious cargo safe. This was no place for a kid, was it? Then again, was this any place for anyone?

Elliot gave Asher a small, confident smile. "I knew you'd be," he said, gently patting the Kinkakumon on the shoulder. "You're really strong. Thanks for looking out for me." Elliot had a feeling Asher wouldn't be nearly as gung-ho about this when he was out of everyone's earshot, but he also had a feeling that Asher didn't like people knowing that. For now, the best thing he could do was keep fluffing up the guy's ego, making sure he had full confidence in Elliot's confidence.
It helped that Elliot actually thought Asher was really cool, of course.
If Isaac didn't have the right tools for the job, Asher certainly did. The bat hit the bars with literal explosive force, causing it to shatter into glassy shards. The light from the outside window passed through each shard, causing them to shimmer and sparkle as they rained around the trio. Isaac wished he could drink that sight in longer, but sadly he just didn't have the time. Instead he pushed through the shards, making his way outside of the alien monolith and into the warm, desert sun. CatchMamemon, still locked behind the flames, simply looked on as the three disappeared onto the horizon.
Isaac, too, waited until the monolith was just a spec on the horizon. Only then did he allow himself to rest, head drooping slightly as the fatigue from a day of experimentation started to take its toll on him. "Okay. We're out. We're finally out . . ." he muttered, his form starting to fade into a bright, white light. While he managed to hold himself together for long enough to descend, he was barely able to touch the ground before he lost hold of his form. Elliot, seeing this coming, quickly bailed off of Isaac's back and landed with a soft thud in the sand. Soon all that was left was Isaac, somewhat buried buried in the soft, warm sand. And, depending on if Asher was able to bail in time or not, an amazon on his back. Well, that wouldn't be awkward!
Elliot only needed to look down for a second to confirm what everyone was thinking. "Yep. He's out," he said. "He must've been exhausted. What the heck happened in there?"

Oh, good. They had escaped! And nobody seemed to be chasing them! The teen let out a deep breath, closing his eyes for a second. That felt way more difficult than it should have been. Did someone up the difficulty level in Asher's life? Or, maybe it was just always like that. It was definitely a good thing that he opened his eyes after a second, though, as Isaac didn't seem to be doing so hot.
"Hey," he mumbled, a little alarmed at how quickly Isaac seemed to be relaxing. Hopping off when Elliot had, the spirit user shifted back to his sprite form by the time that feet had hit the ground, making for a lighter impact. Spinning on one foot, the Renamon shifted to make sure that Elliot hadn't gotten hurt while escaping the failing Devidramon.
Once everyone was seemingly alright, even Isaac in some sense, the spirit user exhaled again, and returned to his human state in a small puff of smoke. Fixing his hair, the redhead looked over Isaac, trying to avoid looking too tired himself. "I don't know, maybe he's tired from swimming in mysterious chemicals?" Weird kid, jumping in pools of who-knows-what. "I'd say it's a long story, but I get a feeling you have plenty of time," he hummed to Elliot, while crouching down next to Isaac. "But, I've gotta ask first. How did you find out how to get into that place?" It had seemed pretty complex, when he had entered!
Trying to brush some of the sand off of the 'sleeping' teen, Asher shifted to scoop him up in his arms. "Hate to break it to you," Asher began, "but I don't want any more crash landings, so if we're going anywhere, we're going to have to walk for a little while." Maybe that was the spirit user's way of saying he was too exhausted, himself! On the bright side, Isaac really wasn't very heavy! "I swear, you both weigh the same as girls," he mumbled under his breath, though it certainly wasn't a complaint at a time like this!
