Well, this was it. Just as promised, Yuu had gotten through all the necessary procedures in order to have a searching order, and now they were officially allowed to search that private island. And while at it, she had gotten a fancier boat. It was still pretty small, at least when compared to the bigger water-dwelling digimons, but this time... it had style.
As she had told both Colin's group and Gladius, they were supposed to meet at the docks pretty early in the morning. Knowing the Veemon, he probably didn't have anything better to do, but Colin... well, the blonde hoped to not to interfere in his daily schedule too much.
Kyo didn't seem to be so sure of that, though, "He might be showing up a bit late, you know." she said, prompting the human to raise an eyebrow to her.
["Did you do anything to him yesterday? Thought yo agreed to spar a bit or something of the sort. Don't tell me you were too rough to him."]
That might or might not have been the truth, but seemed to awfully be the case. Especially when Kyo stared back a bit bashfully, "I might have gotten a bit excited. Not my fault! It was a long time ago since I last had an interesting fight. Gladius' fine, though. He might be a little sore today, but nothing to be overly worried about."
Now, she could only hope her partner's words were true. She'd find out soon enough anyway, either if Gladius showed up or... if he didn't.
"So you think those two will be okay? I mean, Bellamy and Luke; they seemed to be somewhat afraid of water. Hopefully Colin could ease their worries a bit. Or at least teach them how to float."
["Hopefully. Some water's probably the last thing they'll have to worry about in here."]
It was about time those four showed up. Where they were? Well, at least supposedly, they'd arrive at any moment.

If Gladius was anyone else, the throughout sparring match from the day before would likely have left him on the bed for the day. It would likely have left lesser mons sore for weeks. Of course, there was something neither Kyo nor Yuu were aware of. Squire often neglected to talk much about his set of skills, beyond his self-declared master swordsmanship.
Healing Factors were quite convenient to have.
"Morning." Said the dragon with a yawn as he strolled his way to the pair, stretching his arms over his head lazily, a pleased groan rumbling in his throat as he came to stand beside them. He was decked in full armor, his posture lax and his gaze lidded. He appeared to just have woken up.
"Where are Colin and the twins? They did say they were coming with us, no?" He asked as he finished stretching, rubbing at his neck as he glanced around. Colin seemed like a fairly punctual person. Then again, what did he know; book covers could be deceiving. Case in point, anyone who only saw Kyo while she translated for Yuu would surely think she wasn't, in fact, a deranged lunatic.
Speaking of whom.
"I am beginning to think you my, in fact, be a sadist." He commented flatly at Kyo, crossing his arms over his chest. "You kept aiming at my butt. What is your issue with my rear?"

Colin awoke early as he had planned, having lodged at an inn in Whitewater for the night. He shook his groggy partners awake and prepared them a breakfast of toast, eggs and bacon, which they appreciated.
"At least we're ready for the mission today, right?" he asked as they finished.
"Yeah, could barely sleep because of it" Bellamy grumbled, the excitement of a mission proving to be a horrid cause of insomnia. But he could manage. He'd just have to take a nice nap at the end of the day or go to sleep early.
This time around, they weren't as afraid of travelling by sea. Really, all it had been was a moment of weakness for them. When the ship had sailed fairly well yesterday, the two of them felt a little more confident this time.
And so Colin dressed in his usual t-shirt, pants and running shoes; while Luke was dressed in his usual scarf and nothing else, while Bellamy continued wearing his usual tropical shirt, the three headed out toward the docks.
Colin looked at his watch as they approached, thankfully seeing Yuu, Kyo and Gladius already there. As they approached, Bellamy overheard Gladius grumbling something toward Kyo, about how she was aiming for his butt. Unable to help himself, the Impmon cheerfully made a quip as he approached.
"Geez, Kyo, don't you have any appreciation for art?" he asked, grinning. "Leave Gladius's poor butt alone". Luke had overheard too and couldn't help but snort a little with mirth. Colin as usual pretended that he didn't hear anything.
"Hey everyone, I hope we're on time?" Colin asked, hoping his watch was correct. "Well, we're ready either way" he assured them.

Good. The four got here quite fast; that was something that Yuu liked. Punctuality was a quality she appreciated in her colleagues.
"Morning to the four of you! Good to see you all in good shape. Especially you, Gladius." Of course, the Plotmon's expression suddenly shifted towards a pout of sorts at the two digimon's commentaries. What they said was totally unfair! "Hey! It's not my fault that the blue guy over here doesn't know how to dodge properly. Or that he tried to block the bullets with his butt. It's obvious that I was aiming elsewhere."
Of course, this wasn't the point of the conversation. While it was fun to banter with Bellamy and Gladius, they were here for other reasons. Kyo looked at Yuu, just in time for her to begin signing. This would be brief.
"Yup, you're all on time. So, you guys ready to go? Let's get in."
This time, the trip would be shorter, and the objective, a lot more concise. Or at least that's what the blonde thought.
"We won't be able to split this time. I got the searching order, so you'll have to remain with me until we leave. I'll give you a warning, though. The chances of people there being involved in this whole scheme aren't exactly low, so you should be careful. We don't know who's enemy and who's ally over there. Time to kick some doors, I guess."
Interestingly enough, the whole place was silent. Almost if nobody were in an otherwise private and inhabited island.
"I don't have the best feeling about this, you know..."

Bellamy's comment flew right over Gladius' head, the meaning of the impster's words elusive as ever. Someday he would understand the imp, hopefully.
Naturally, Kyo had protests, to whatever it was the Impmon was saying.
"You are as terrible a liar as you are a lunatic." He replied bluntly as moved slowly to squat in front of her, his arms moving to wrap around the puppy's little waist before he lifted her off the ground, standing up and hugging her to his chest.
He nodded at Yuu's command, then at Colin and the twins.
"Let us go, then."
The trip was about the same as last time, though the ship they were using this time was more luxurious than the last. The dragon didn't pay too much attention to that, though, too enraptured with the sight of the island on the far horizon.
When they arrived, he was once again all too eager to get off the boat, hovering out of the machine before letting Kyo off gently onto the sand.
It was unfortunate they weren't splitting. Mostly because he couldn't dash off on his own, or fight on his own for that matter.
"Ah, well." He sighed, shrugging his shoulders. "May as well get this over with as swiftly as we can, then."
Weirdly enough, however, there was a strange lull in the air, the island which should have been well populated and full of activity eerily silent.
Kyo seemed to find it unsettling.
"Want me to hug you again?" asked the dragon teasingly, grinning wide as he opened his arms, as if to let the puppy jump into his chest.

Bellamy snickered at Kyo's defense of attacking Gladius's butt as well as Gladius responding that she was a liar and a lunatic. The blue dragon didn't seem to react to what he said however, so he left it alone and focused on the mission at hand.
They embarked the boat, which was a much better one than before. Colin and his partners were impressed, not that they minded the last boat. But travelling a bit more comfortably was always welcome. Especially when -this- mission seemed to be the one to watch out for, especially since Yuu and Kyo seemed more certain of it.
"Understood" Colin said as they were told not to split up this time. Searching might therefore take longer, but by the sound of it, they wouldn't have to do much searching.
"Anything we have to watch out for?" Luke asked. "Traps, defenses, that sort of thing?" He didn't expect it would be known, but it wasn't wise to go into that sort of situation without considering traps and ambush points.
Bellamy meanwhile watched Gladius invite Kyo for a hug. He really seemed to like her. "Hm, I wish someone would hug me like that" he thought, but didn't say. He didn't want to mess around and ruin this for Colin and Luke.
The silence was thick, too quiet, at least to Colin. It was as tense as a drawn bowstring. Colin reached into his pocket and held his digivice for a bit of security. Meanwhile Luke walked on all fours, ready to strike with an electric attack if needed. Bellamy meanwhile held a hand up as though ready to conjure a fireball. They would hopefully be ready for whatever happened.

Kyo wasn't one to be exasperated at silly remarks, but what Gladius said definitely bordered the stupid side of the spectrum.
"I'm not joking around. Be on your guard." The Plotmon said with an unusual derisive tone. As much as she didn't want to be right, she had the impression that they were walking towards a trap. This was just too suspicious.
Still, the group walked on through the lush vegetation the island had. Supposedly, they had to search on the main residence first, then go more or less through every other place. A sound plan right?
Well, a decently-sized fireball begged to differ. Hurrying towards the group from the sky, the attack seemed to be almost eager to collide with them.
"Watch out!" Of course, Kyo's main worry was to make sure that her human was unharmed. She ran straight towards her and pushed her aside, hoping that her warning was enough for the group to handle themselves and avoid getting injured.
Regardless of what they did, the projectile would eventually collide with the ground, igniting the nearby terrain and raising a pretty decent deal of pitch-black smoke, temporarily engulfing the area in darkness.
"Guys, are you okay!? Gotta regroup, then pin down whatever's trying to fry us!" Kyo's voice, even if a little loud, didn't sound distressed or panicked. Calm, but concerned about the welfare of the group, she tried to find any trace of either Gladius or Colin, Luke and Bellamy. Close by Yuu, she also tried to identify what had attacked them, at least until... she felt something from under her. Eh? What was this?
Eventually, the smoke began to clear, dissipating slowly and becoming less dark. Not exactly clear, but enough for the beings there to identify their attackers as a group of four birdlike digimon. Three were exact same copies of each other, but the other flew higher than the rest, gazing back at them with its three eyes.
Lest to say, they didn't look to be very friendly...

"Stop being so dramatic, it is much too weird coming from you." Replied the dragon bluntly, put off by the changes in her usual demeanor. Even if they were walking into a trap, what did she care? She was on a level beyond Ultimate. Something that was, as far as he knew, seemingly exclusive to tamer Digimon. It wasn't like anything these petty criminals brought to the table would mean jackshit to her.
Though...
"If you really are so worried, though, Perhaps it would be pertinent to evolve into form higher than child?" he suggested, no real sarcasm in his voice. Because really, Kyo being worried about anything was just off putting enough to make him actually worried.
Before she answered him, however, she suddenly cried out a warning. His gaze snapping up to the sky, his pupils shrank as the giant fireball filled his field of vision. Seeing Kyo immediately moved to defend her partner, Gladius went the opposite way, leaping to Colin and the twins, his hand swinging to the side in a flash of light.
A large, round shield suddenly appeared on his arm.
"Get down!" He yelled at the trio as he moved his shield over them, trying to shield the human with both the shield and his body.

The first they heard of the impending attack was Kyo suddenly shouting for them to watch out.
Colin, Luke and Bellamy didn't need telling twice. They all dove down to the ground as Gladius covered them with his shield, all of them suddenly noticing the large fireball closing in fast. It erupted into smoke, making them cough.
"What's happening?!" Colin asked, alarmed at being suddenly attacked like this.
"Mmph!!" Luke said, his eyes wide as his face was suddenly pressed into Gladius as he covered them.
'Lucky bugger' Bellamy thought, giving a 'tsk' noise. But that quip aside, he was deadly serious about the task of defending his partner and brother. He looked up to see the birdlike digimon assembling to attack. Kyo said they should regroup.
"Thanks, Gladius" Colin said to the dragon as they did what Kyo said and dashed toward her. Colin stood behind Yuu, while Luke and Bellamy assembled behind Kyo, ready for action.
"What's the plan?" Colin asked, shaking a little, realizing this would be the first serious action he would be involved in. The birds above looked like Champion, even Perfect levels. But he had to make a good impression here, so he kept calm for now. Yuu, Kyo and Gladius were here after all.

Upon closer inspection and if the digimons were to be analyzed, they'd be revealed as three Saberdramon and one Velgemon. Closing the distance between the group, the digimons began to circle around them.
"Trespassing is forbidden!" The perfect level boomed, imposingly. Its voice was unnaturally loud and creepy, even though that wasn't much of a surprise. The intent behind it was a bit easy to guess, too; outright murderous, not caring even a little about anything the group could've said to justify themselves.
Immediately after those words, the birds began their dive towards them, most of them having their sights set at the big blue guy with the shield. One loud shriek afterwards, a flurry of flaming projectiles was already on its way towards them; a veritable multitude of smaller fireballs crowned up by a big rock engulfed in dark flames.
And they kept closing in... Where Yuu and Kyo had previously stood, now only a gaping fracture remained. The ground had been seemingly torn by an unknown force, and it had taken the pair with it. Or maybe they had jumped inside? Who knew.
Their choice was theirs, in the end. Would the foursome jump in the hole, into an unknown destination? Or would they remain there, fending off the enemy digimons? For the time being, they had some flaming projectiles to deal with.

The flaming projectiles had been incoming for a while now. But realizing that two twin rookie levels probably didn't have a chance against two champion levels and a Perfect level, well, they weren't really willing to find out.
"Guys come on!" Colin told his partners, and decided to take his chances within the fracture. As the attacks came flying overhead, Colin could feel the heat they could generate as he slid down the side of the hole. Luke and Bellamy held on tight to his hands as they followed.
What would be at the bottom? Well, hopefully it wasn't anything hazardous. The two digimon looked up, hoping that Gladius would be alright.
But where were Yuu and Kyo? Had they come down here too? Colin hoped so, in fact he wouldn't have jumped in had he not thought they already had done so.
Soon, they reached the bottom of the fracture. Well then. That was that. Hopefully they'd be able to get back out.

Leaping into that opening was a good idea! The last thing Colin would see was Fencer remaining on the surface, preparing himself to fend off the oncoming avian digimons. Seemingly, they'd buy the group enough time to get whatever was inside that place. What was underground, then? Surprisingly, Colin would find himself at the end of a large tunnel that was leading into a strange... laboratory of sorts.
Large tanks, all of them seemingly filled with a green-ish liquid stood across the room, a console of sorts, monitors displaying information about their... composition? Not like much about it could be understood. The way would be clear, weren't it for a lone BeelStarrmon fighting against a Chaosdramon. They seemed to be evenly matched at the moment, at least until a trio of DarkTyrannomon entered the place. "Colin!" The demoness called, her voice sounding a lot like Kyo's... as if it had been mixed with somebody else's. She ducked just in time to avoid the metallic dragon's lasers, shooting for in retaliation right afterward. "Try to reach the console and destroy it! I kinda have my hands full with this guy, but I'll try to give you what backup I can!"
It was risky, but it was their best chance at finishing the job. If that thing stood, who knew what'd happen. She'd have to shield whoever the Chaosdramon aimed at if he tried to do anything fun. But that would be a double-edged sword, wouldn't it? Diverting your attention when you had a real threat fighting you could end pretty badly for him, too.
This was getting interesting.

Well, Fencer was a pretty strong digimon. Hopefully he would be able to handle the challenge on the surface. But for now, the underground awaited.
When they landed, Colin was immediately shown the sight of some kind of underground laboratory, with green tanks around the place. And there he saw a BeelStarrmon, who he deduced to be the biomerged form of Yuu and Kyo. And she was engaged in battle with nothing less than a Chaosdramon.
"Oh boy..." Bellamy remarked, looking back up, wondering if he should take his chances back up there. But if Colin didn't want to, he'd stay down here.
Then three DarkTyrannomon made their appearances. Colin began to tremble. There was just no way he could deal with this kind of thing right now, right? But then he felt Luke pat his arm.
"It'll be fine, Colin, we're right here beside you" the Elecmon assured him.
"Yep. Just keep calm and focus" Bellamy added. Colin took a deep breath, nodding. Well then. He had a D-Arc, and he had cards. Perhaps he should use them. He drew them to see what they could do... and he saw one that wasn't there before. It looked promising.
"Digimodify..." he said quickly. "Evolution activate!" he seemed to have the option of selecting Bellamy or Luke on the next screen, but it seemed that he could also select both. He did so.
For the first time, both Luke and Bellamy glowed white with energy, transforming and growing.
"Elecmon digivolve to... Teslamon!" Luke had grown to a tall rabbit warrior, still maintaining his red and white fur, but looking much more adult like, with lean muscles and holding a spear.
"Impmon digivolve to... Flawizarmon!" and Bellamy had also grown, still mostly having the purple and white fur, only this time, he was wearing a flaming outfit of a hat, cape, shorts and boots, and held a pair of matchstick wands.
Colin watched them with amazement. Okay. Now what?
"Luke, you get Colin to the control panel!" Bellamy said, jamming the ends of his wands together. Red and blue flames burst on either end. He began to twirl it. "I'll take care of these buggers!" he increased speed until it looked like he was spinning a glowing purple wheel. "Catherine Wheel!" he threw the spinning wands at the DarkTyrannomon in the center. If it hit, the resulting magical explosion would consume the three of them. While he didn't expect it to wipe them out in one go, at least it'd give Luke and Colin time.
Luke meanwhile grabbed Colin's hand and ran as fast as he could toward the control panel. As they reached it, hopefully without Chaosdramon getting past BeelStarrmon, Luke then electrified his spear and aimed a stab into the middle of the panel where most of the important looking buttons were.

The situation was do or die at the moment. For some reason, the Chaosdramon was strong, but Yuu had a pretty good idea about what was causing that. She didn't know how, but this laboratory... whoever was behind it wasn't up for anything good.
Chaosdramon took notice of Colin and his partners soon enough, the sensors on his machinery reacting with hostility towards the new presence. Not like it could do much about it, given that he had to pretty much defend permanently against Beelstarrmon's attacks or risk being heavily damaged. Who knew, the best defense was a good offense.
The tyrannomons charged against Colin, but Bellamy did an excellent work at distracting them long enough for them to reach the console, and Luke did an excellent work at blowing the whole thing up. His electrified lance began to overcharge the systems, causing a progressive shutdown of the computers, even though, for some reason, heat was beginning to build up over there.
As soon as the machinery was forcibly shut down, the digimons who were previously fighting against Bellamy, Luke and BeelStarrmon devolved suddenly. Chaodramon became a ToyAgumon and the Tyrannomons became Koromons; they seemed exhausted, and passed out pretty much instantly. Yet, the heat on the main console kept building up. "Guys, this place's blowing up! Grab the unconscious digimons and let's get out from where we entered!" Said and done, she got a hold of the ToyAgumon and ran back towards the surface.
Luckily, and unless for some reason Luke and Bellamy took way more time than the needed, everyone should be able to get out before anything regrettable happened. Once on the surface, it seemed that the bird-like digimons were no more, Gladius still standing outside. Seems like he had done a pretty good work; plopping in the ground, BeelStarrmon's figure shone, dividing into Yuu and Kyo's. "Phew, what a day." The Plotmon exclaimed, utterly exhausted. She then looked at Colin and his partners with a relieved smile on her face. "That guy was about to overpower us; thanks for the timely save, guys."
With Yuu nodding, she began to sign, Kyo doing what she usually did. "From what I could gather, that facility of sorts was researching on how to forcibly evolve digimons and on increasing their power and aggressiveness, even if at the cost of their data degrading at absurd speeds. I'm a bit sorry for those guys. Guess what we have ahead of us is to go back to Whitewater, report the situation and see if any of them remember anything about being experimented upon." After a couple of minutes, both human and digimon finally got up, Yuu finally smiling. "Seems like the tip of the iceberg, but we'll have to think about that later. You did an amazing work today, guys. Let's head back."
The rather soundly explosion below reminded them that they still had work pending for the future, but for today... they had won their rest.

"Okay, we've done it!" Luke said as he saw the machinery begin to show errors and shut down. He then realized he had dragged Colin across the room with him. Hoo boy, he should really think on his feet a little better, he probably shouldn't have kept Colin so close in doing a risky task like this.
"It's okay, Luke!" Colin said quickly. "Don't get stunned now, we have to get away from here!" he could feel the heat rising.
"Er, right!" Luke said, putting an arm around his partner. Ah, it was somehow reassuring that he was strong enough to carry him now. In fact Luke was now a little taller than Colin, although much more stronger as a Champion level digimon. The Teslamon leapt away from the destroyed console, back so that Colin was between himself and Bellamy, protected on both sides.
Bellamy meanwhile looked surprised as the digimon de-digivolved suddenly. The wands from the Catherine Wheel attack returned to his hands. He blinked as the three monsters he was preparing to face suddenly turned into Koromons and fell unconscious. The heat from the machinery was still increasing. It was clear that something out of control was about to happen. But what could they do?
"Luke, Bellamy, pick one of them up" Colin said, in a decisive voice he hadn't used before. He himself picked up the middle Koromon. Bellamy and Luke would have said 'Yes, sir' right away if they weren't of that personality. But they felt compelled to do what he said.
"Now let's get outta here!" Colin said.
"Easier said than done carryin' these little guys..." Bellamy muttered. "But, whatever ya say!"
Using their one free hands, Luke and Bellamy took hold of Colin and the two brothers proceeded to jump out of the fissure. Their longer, stronger legs gave them the mobility they needed to escape the lab below. Until finally, they were out of the hole. Hopefully with zero casualties on either side.
Everything had gone so fast that Colin was a little stunned to realize it was all over. The adrenaline pulsing in his system began to dry out, and with that, the moment of crisis had passed. Luke and Bellamy de-digivolved to their Rookie forms, both still holding the Koromons.
"Huh..." Bellamy said, blinking. He looked down at the in-training digimon he was holding, then back up again. "So, er, do ya know what all that was about?" he asked Yuu and Kyo.
Kyo thankfully explained what was going on. Luke listened with interest. "Ohh, right..." he said, intrigued. "I wonder who would do such a thing though?"
"Well, I might not be a brainiac..." Bellamy interrupted. "But... I can think of a lot of digimon that might be a bit pee'd off at all these humans coming along and evolving their partners back and forth in front of their faces with these digivices, they'd be upset at that kinda thing, right?"
"Maybe..." Luke said, nodding. He then yelped as the ground shook as the lab finally blew.
"Guess that solves that problem, eh?" Bellamy asked. He agreed with that notion. "Yeah, let's head back. Heh heh, I got a lot of braggin' to do on the D-Terminal about this new little ability of ours" he smirked.
With that, once all was ready, they headed in the direction of the boat.
