MasterTyrannomon paced back and forth as the crowds started pouring in. A few sweatdrops dripped down the giant dinosaur's face as he took several draws from his large cigar. "Damn," he muttered to himself. "How are we supposed to do this thing with no announcer?" The previous announcer in charge of this premier event of Infinity Colosseum's return to the tournament scene had thrown a diva fit and walked out on them, so now they had no one to run the event on the day of the competition. "Get me someone, NOW!" he shouted to someone standing behind him.
A few hours later, Kaito Kozumi was being shoved into the arena. Looks like his fame knew no bounds. Even sources in the Digital World knew who he was at this point! He strode out confidently in his MCmon form, ready to get the crowd excited! "Hello, Infinity Colosseum!" he shouted into his microphone. "Thank you for coming out to our first event in some time! We've got a great show for you today to commemorate our grand re-opening!" As he spoke, the eight competitors made their way onto the arena floor. It seemed there would be a bit of time for them to talk before things got underway.

Well, wasn't this fun: the roaring crowds, the ecstatic atmosphere, and the announcer having to fight with the crowd's volume to keep up! Not since the Infinity Tournament of old had the crowds been able to look forward to a good old fashioned, well-controlled fight!
Luke's only question, though, was how he found himself in the arena, next to the Ankomon mere feet away. "Remind me why we're doing this, again?"
"Why not?" He gave a grin, and a wave to the crowds. Sure, there was a chance to speak to the other competitors, but the atmosphere here didn't really allow for it. Heck, even the usually observant wolf couldn't get more than a glance at the others!

Post by Colin, Luke & Bellamy on Jan 22, 2017 8:20:35 GMT
Ah, this moment was exactly as Bellamy had pictured it. Roaring crowds, challenging (and rather cute) foes, and a great big arena for them to kick the crap out of each other in.
Colin meanwhile was a bit less enthusiastic about it. But eh, Bellamy was competitive in nature and his twin brother Luke decided to go along with it as well, so it was assumed that it would all be fine in the end.
And besides, Colin was kind of proud of how far his partners had gone in their journey so far. Perhaps this would be their chance to truly prove themselves? While it would be awful for them if they were knocked out in the first round, at least it would give them pause to train a bit harder. Who knows? Before long they could be Mega levels?
And so, they waved at the crowd, with Bellamy making various poses when he thought attention was being given to him. Luke joined in as well, the excitement contagious. They all were eager to begin.

Post by Marshal North on Jan 22, 2017 8:41:39 GMT
Marshal had been approached by the owner of Infinity Colosseum, MasterTyrannomon, in regards to being asked to participate in their first tournament after a long hiatus. Of course, Coronamon was more than willing to see what would come of it, but it had still been a while since they had been in actual combat.
The little lion was looking around at the other competitors and noticed that Iko and Luke were also there. Smirking, he silently swore to himself that he wasn't going to hold anything back and go all out in order to fight his rival again. It seemed that Luke and Bellamy were also competing, which was a little concerning for him.

There was a nice atmosphere in the air.
The roars of the crowd were deafening, and made the core in his chest pulse faster with excitement. He had never seen a tournament on the coliseum, but it had apparently been years since the last one had been held. The grand reopening of the battle arena had been received with great fanfare, even though it was only an Exhibition Tournament. Nothing too grand as one would have expected, but the results spoke for themselves. It was a full house.
A slow grin stretched over his lips, his fighting spirit rising with every noise the crowd made. It would be a fun experience, he was sure. The 'grand' price was worthless, as far as he was concerned. 5000 bits were frankly pocket change, never mind 3000 or 2000. What really held value here was what he would learn from every battle held in the arena.

Izanami would not have been lying if she said that she was almost a bit hype for this little tournament. Sure technically it was the Digimon who were the stars, that and this was only an eight man tourney; but she could feel the same sort of competitive spirit as with the soccer tourneys she has been in here.
Following close behind the girl as the pair walked on stage, joining amongst several other contestants; the Chromiamon that was Izanami's partner stared at their supposed rivals with an almost innocent look of curiosity. So many tamers with different Digimon, odd how humans like Izanami seemed to adapt quite well to the love of bloodshed that much of the Digital World seemed fascinated with. Perhaps that was why they above other humans became partnered with Digimon? She honestly did not know whom was stranger, humans or modern day Digimon.
Tugging at the girl's hand slightly, Ameno stared at her tamer quizically. "Nami, I will need to be fighting other Digimon here. Is that correct? Do you have any advice you can offer?"
The teenager paused briefly, a bit of an unsure look on her face. "Yeah... Just try not to kill anyone, okay Ameno?" Izanami would tell her partner while trying to make sure that her voice wasn't overshadowed by the crowd, the carbuncle Digimon nodding at her tamer's statement. Izanami didn't want to just crucify her partner, but she had to admit; the rabbit when actually in a fight was a bit... unstable. Last thing she needed was anyone getting severely hurt. Or well, at least Ameno not getting severely hurt. She KINDA didn't really care too much about the other goons here.

A Colosseum. Just like the Roman Empire. Who said the digital world wasn't civilised? Eva wasn't entirely sure why she had even entered. Perhaps it was the chance of some prize money? The chance to test out her combat systems in a supposedly non lethal environment? Likely a mix of both to be fair, but now looking out at the crowds she was having somewhat of a hard time justifying this to herself. But, hey, she was in at the deep end now, may as well make the most of it. Playing to the crowd seemed to always be a thing in similar sports such as wrestling, at least, the hyped up mostly fake stuff. This was pretty damn real though, probably more akin to an MMA matchup. But with more fireballs.
Each of the competitors in that sort of thing seemed to have some sort of stage personality, or at least some little thing to try and distinguish themselves with a larger than life persona and get themselves a fan following. Eva was hardly the sort of person to start yelling "OOOH YEEEEEEEE!" or telling people to "SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!" though, so, instead she just clicked her eye protectors on, the mechanism sliding out of her head and clicking into place forming the half frame "sunglasses" like look, and giving a group in the crowd who were currently looking in her direction a good salute. That should help. Maybe.

It seemed that most of the competitors were more interested in just getting started than idle chitchat. It also seemed that two of the entrants were nowhere to be found at the moment. Perhaps they'd show up at a later time. Kaito supposed he could respect that. "Without further ado, let's get going!" The MCmon pointed up to the jumbotron, and the bracket appeared on the screen."We'll start the first round immediately! Will our first pair please remain on the stage?"
