The young lion digimon was making his journey throughout the digital world leaving the only friends he had in the world behind him at the village of beginnings. It didn’t take long for the pride to realize that he was completely alone in the vastness of the digital world. The reason for this alone feeling was the deletion of the only father figure he had known Elecmon. He was ruthlessly annihilated by the corrupt Ogremon who was preying on the data of the weak fresh digimon to become stronger. The stench of that vile Ogremon was one that he himself wouldn’t be able to forget until the day he personally destroyed him.
Throughout his trek had brought him to the western flatlands the near endless expanse of nothing, but desert was shortly halted when he spotted something out of the ordinary. The remains of what appeared to be a once highly functioning city that were now rubble. Leon slowly began to make his way into the city hoping to find some source of nourishment. Knowing that at one point in time digimon had lived in the area so there had to be supplies somewhere, but where? As he carefully travelled through the ruined city he would step over rubble that laid in his path. He looked for hours up, and down the city, and to his dismay was unable to locate any source of nourishment.
”What does a mon have to do to get something to eat around here?”
His patience was beginning to wear thin as his insurmountable hunger continued to grow. Just when he was about to give up hope of finding supplies he spotted what appeared to be a broken vending machine laying in a pile of debris. He energetically ran towards the machine; his mouth salivating from the anticipation of having a meal. Once he got to the top of the pile of debris where the machine was located he wiped away dust that was coating the glass of the machine. Inside the machine was a treat wrapped in green paper; this was the first piece of food he had seen since entering the western flatlands. Without hesitation he slammed his razor sharp claws into the glass of the machine freeing the snack, and just as quickly devoured the sustenance.
One the other side of the ruins the echoing sound of the glass breaking spurred a monstrous machine to life. The eyes of the digimon glowing red with anger, and the debris that was surrounding the digimon was forced to the side by its sheer strength. The cybernetic digimon began to scan the area for the cause of the noise. It scanned until it picked up the digital signature of none other than Leon. The digimon then began to move towards the pride with its red eyes deadlocked on him.
”Halt! Intruder, you have stolen from the vending machine. Punishment for your crime is deletion!
Caught off guard by the sound of the voice Leon would turn to look behind him to see a large rust colored digimon towering above him. The digimon was none other than a guardromon, and he was bent on his destruction. The cybernetic digimon would throw a powerful right punch at Leon whom would quickly leap out of the way landing in a defensive stance. ”What are you doing Guardromon? I have done nothing wrong!” The cybernetic digimon would then draw the arm back that had punched the ground, and would begin to lock onto Leon.
”Threat detected! Exterminate with extreme prejudice. Warning Laser!” He would shout as his red eyes would glow brighter launching two lasers at him the lion would leap getting grazed on the tail by one of the beams. Leon would quickly turn to his tail, and would begin to blow on it in an attempt to sooth the pain away. His attempts at soothing his pain was brought to a halt as a cold metal fist collided with the side of his body sending him flying into a pile of rubble. The lion would slowly rise to his feet staggering because his head was spinning from the assault.
He would quickly shake off the confusion, and his vision would finally return to him only to see two laser beams flying in his direction. His only option was to run from this fight, how could he hope to stand a chance against a champion level digimon not to mention one made of iron. The lion quickly leaped out of the line of fire, and began to run away from the iron giant. Explosions from propelled missiles exploding behind the young pride. The only thought running through Leon’s head was that he was about to be deleted, and he would never be able to avenge his friend’s defeat.
The lion would then duck behind a pile of rubble hoping to find shelter from the assault of the iron giant. This was quite a weird experience for the young pride, he wasn’t used to being the prey. The relentless assault was growing closer, and closer to the young digimon when he spotted a small hole that seemed to be a part of the building. Without hesitation Leon leapt inside of the hole crashing down hard against the firm ground. ”Note to self don’t jump down random holes not knowing what’s at the bottom.” He would mutter as he would slowly rise to his feet his body still writhing with pain from the punch he had received earlier.
Leon would shake his head rapidly side to side in an effort to gather himself, and get a sense of bearing. After shaking off the damage that he had received he began to walk around the room that he had crash landed in. While walking through the rubbled room out of the corner of his eyes he spotted an egg. Without hesitation the digimon ran to the egg concerned for its wellbeing; the thought of the killer robot taking the back burner. ”Poor little guy, you have to have a chance at life.”
Upon closer examination of the digiegg he would note that the egg was odd shaped, and didn’t resemble any of the digieggs that he had ever seen. It was shaped almost resembling a rose with a symbol embedded on the front of the egg. The back thought of the guardromon was quickly remembered as an explosion disintegrated a wall of the room he was in revealing the iron giant. Leon would stand before the digiegg in a defensive stance prepared to protect the egg at all costs because that is what elecmon would have done. The young digimon would dig deep down in his soul, and would draw out a power deep within; “Heaven’s Roar!” He would shout before releasing a powerful roar causing the guardromon to momentarily seize up.
Leon would then turn to the digiegg, and would rub his snout against it, and would mutter. Listen little guy, it’s time to hatch. I am giving you a chance at survival please take it; I had a dear friend that gave me a chance. I will do everything in my power to live like him to protect the weak, and save the helpless even if it costs me my life. Now Hatch!” He would mutter as he rubbed his snout to the digiegg once more this time releasing a crimson light which engulfed the young digimon. Power began to flow throughout the body of the young lion. ”Digiarmor energize!” He would shout as the armor would begin to grant him access to digivolution. ”Leormon armor digivolve to...Firamon, the wildfire of passion!”
Once the crimson light cleared where leormon had once stood now stood a large red lion with wings, and a flaming tail fueled by his burning passion. Leon shocked by the digivolution would smile as he looked into the face of his assailant this time with confidence, and a will to survive. ”Let’s end this meaningless battle Guardromon, I mean you no harm!” The machine digimon would then force himself back to life as the effects of the heaven’s roar subsided. ”Negative target is a threat, execute with extreme prejudice! Guardian Barrage!” He would shout as he extended his hands outward releasing two of the missiles that his backside was beginning to become used to. ”I believe you have a few screws loose my friend. Fira Bomb!” He would shout as a large fireball formed in his mouth, and launched outward intercepting the missiles causing a explosion opening a hole in the ceiling. Without hesitation the armor champion leapt into the air taking flight attempting to escape the assault.
The fire lion continued to climb higher into the air in order to put a distance between him, and the iron giant. He didn’t really have a desire to destroy the guardromon because he was just doing what he was programmed to do. Leon flew a safe distance from the ruins, and landed due to fatigue. His body was going weak from sustaining the armor digivolution for a long duration. Upon landing his body began to glow a bright golden light, and a crimson red beam left his body hovering in mid air until he reformed as Leormon. The crimson beam then crashed into the chest of the pride causing him to realize that the power he had wasn’t just a one time fluke that was his power.
