Digimon Name: Rinji
Default Form: Rookie
Gender: Male
Alignment: Neutral Good
Skills/Talents:
Nimble Navigator - using his multiple legs and relatively flat body, Rinji is perfectly capable of scaling walls, ceilings, bridging gaps or squeezing into tight crevices, an ability he has often used to find a peaceful place of sleep.
Superior Senses - unfortunately, Rinji has poor eyesight, and everything he sees is usually either blurry or out of focus. To compensate he has a very developed sense of touch and smell, and can sometimes be seen waving his head left and right in an attempt to better judge the depth of objects. Any attacks concerning vision would have substantially less effect thanks to his alternative sensory capabilities. This also makes it difficult for him to read written text, although he is still somewhat literate.
Iron Grip - in all of Rinji's forms, his legs are extremely strong, capable of wrapping around and gripping down, hard. The claws on the tips of his legs particularly add to this effect, making him a natural grappler. Useful for holding on tight, whether on a windy day or for holding down light opponents.

Inventory:
- A silk pouch that Rinji conceals under his armour segments to store any items or money he finds in his travels. It's appears to be entirely concealed until removed, giving the impression that it has been taken out of thin air.
- A smart-phone painted in chrome silver. The number for this phone is 6933793 and due to the strange laws of the Digital World and Real World, it may be possible for it to communicate across worlds.
- A holo-device, allowing Rinji to take the form of a human. Physically, it looks like a round MP3 player with a dull colour scheme and a single button. Very useful for concealing his creepy-crawliness when visiting the human world.
Holosuit:
[ Karma Akabane | Ansatsu Kyōshitsu ]
Personality:
Despite being a creepy crawly, Rinji could only be described as a complete and total cinnamon bun. He has a rather vulnerable personality, being nervous and struggling with confrontation: even the simplest act of starting small talk is anxiously approached by this digimon.
However, he wouldn't hesitate to help someone who's hurt or in danger - and once he's fully engaged in battle, you can count on him to remain focussed on the fight. This side of him is uncommon, though, as he's not the type to start needless fights over taunts or insults, instead opting to internalise his feelings. The only way somebody could get him to willingly fight would be through either a physical assault or by seriously testing his patience.
His personality is relatively stable when things are peaceful, but in more unfriendly situations, it becomes somewhat more volatile as his emotions begin to rise. He's not completely against fighting, far from it, as he understands that the nature of digimon means that sometimes, he'll be forced to battle. Nonetheless, he would much rather fight another digimon himself, than let an innocent or weaker being get hurt.
Being gentle and sensible has meant that most who know him well enough see him as trustworthy, which is true: you could probably tell him your deepest secrets, and he'd respectfully tell no one else.
Bashful as he is, if someone were to make a close friend of him, they'd probably discover that he is actually a very emotional digimon - and even a tad overprotective - as well as a lot more relaxed and easy-going. He's also quite naïve, with a belief that most people are good, leaving him susceptible to being taken advantage of. This doesn't mean he's stupid however, but mostly inexperienced with the ways of the world.
Thanks to his mild surface disposition, his voice is quiet and mellow, practically incapable of being raised to anything that could be described as angry. Some might hear it also has a slight hint of an English accent, although nothing too noticeable unless you listen closely.
As he digivolves into his more mature forms, his voice becomes deeper and more powerful, and his lack of self-esteem fades away to be replaced with self-confidence. With self-confidence comes a more open sense of humour, you might see him crack a joke and even join in with the banter. Rinji's digivolved forms are also primarily virus type, uniquely encoded with their own levels of ferocity and aggressiveness. Although he'll naturally try to keep himself in check, he may still find himself losing his temper and restraint more often than before.
Personal History:
Short:
Rinji was born in the Village of Beginnings, where he was best friends with a Nyaromon. Unfortunately, when he digivolved into Scolomon to fight off a Dokugamon when they were in trouble, Nyaromon became frightened of him. This eventually lead to him leaving the Village and becoming a resident of Server Forest.
Rinji earned his name when a tamer asked him for directions, and Rinji discovered that the tamer's digimon had a unique name. Rinji had asked the tamer if he could have a name too. From then onwards, the rest is history.

Extended:
Like most digimon, Rinji was born in the Village of Beginnings as an innocent Yuramon. He would often happily play with the other babies, and greatly enjoyed the company of a particular Nyaromon.
These two were touted as inseparable - and a couple of mischief makers they were. If trouble could be found, it was assured that they would be in it.
When Yuramon digivolved to Chilomon, Nyaromon was overjoyed. This only meant one thing: they could go on even bigger adventures! It was only a matter of days until the two found themselves on another 'expedition' as Nyaromon had called it. Their quick adventure outside the confines of the village was going relatively well, until a massive Flymon found them.
The pair had ran away in such a panic, that once they'd stopped, they were utterly lost. The setting sun forced the pair to hide and rest until sunrise, when they figured that they could find their way back home.
When Chilomon had woken up, Nyaromon was screaming. He had ran out from their former hiding place to find Nyaromon trapped in a web, about to be eaten. She was crying for help. Without a second thought, Chilomon leapt to Nyaromon's aid. The Dokugamon had swiftly used its Poison Threads, knocking Nyaromon out and badly damaging Chilomon.
Chilomon was pushed to the edge of his own strength, and fuelled by Nyaromon's peril, digivolved to Scolomon.
With his newfound power, Scolomon had just about managed to fend off the Dokugamon, before it decided the digimon weren't worth its time.
Once Scolomon had brought Nyaromon back to the village for treatment, the digimon were shocked and frightened. His new appearance didn't help to ease the digimon's fear, despite him explaining what had happened. Nonetheless, Scolomon had stayed by Nyaromon's side while she recovered from the poison.
When she woke up, more screaming wasn't what Scolomon had expected. Nyaromon was terrified of him.
Swanmon, one of the caretakers, explained that Nyaromon was likely still suffering from the trauma of the ordeal, and not to worry about it too much.
Unfortunately, Nyaromon's avoidance of him didn't help his reputation among the remaining digimon in the village. Not knowing any better, they were quick to shun him. Realising he would no longer be accepted in the village, Scolomon decided that maybe it would be best for him to leave.
Swanmon, the ever observant watcher, had approached him before his departure.
"I know it's sad, but it isn't your fault, Scolomon," her voice was soft and forgiving, "I'll tell Nyaromon that you left, wouldn't want her worrying about you."
He thanked Swanmon for trying to make him feel better, but told her it was time for him to leave anyway. Rookies didn't really belong in the Village of Beginnings. Swanmon had hugged him one last time; for she had never once feared or showed disgust for him. He hugged her back too, as best as he could, and left.
He wandered aimlessly, until he eventually found himself in Server Woods. The wilds of the forest appealed to him, and they eventually became his new home. Scolomon eventually learned how to hunt and forage for himself there, through watching the other wild digimon. He also found that he much preferred a nocturnal lifestyle, only awaking at night when not as many digimon were around.
However, his enforced isolation didn't do much to help his own confidence. He became shy and bashful, and his refusal to interact with the residents of the forest led to wild rumours. Rumours of a strange and unseen monster, that only appeared at night.
On one such night, Scolomon saw a blurry light in the distance. Having never seen anything like it, he had quietly approached it. It was a campsite with a lit fire.
The tamer and Gabumon inside the tent heard the scuttling outside, and peered out to check what it was.
The tamer, unaware of Scolomon's fear and any rumours, asked him what he was doing at their campsite. Scolomon explained, and the tamer decided to ask him if he knew where the forest shrine was. They had come to pay their respects to an old friend of theirs.
The next day, Scolomon lead the tamer and their partner to the shrine. They thanked him, and having forgotten to introduce themselves the night before, told him their names.
Scolomon noticed the Gabumon had a name too, and asked where he had gotten it. It was a nice name. The tamer said that they had given Gabumon that name, and asked if Scolomon would like one too.
Scolomon said yes, and the tamer asked if they liked the name 'Rinji'. It meant 'peaceful forest', they explained. It suited him, the Gabumon had told him. The newly dubbed Rinji liked the name, and has kept it ever since. Although the experience with the tamer and their Gabumon was a small one, it inspired Rinji to think that he shouldn't be as afraid of the world anymore.
With an improved outlook on life, he decided to wander further and further away from his home, bit by bit - and has experienced many adventures since that day.

ᴠᴏɪᴅ
ᴛʏᴘᴇ: sᴇᴇᴅ
ꜰʀᴇsʜ
This small fluffy Digimon drifts gently on breezes, which it detects using its antennae.
[ɴᴏ ꜰᴀᴍɪʟɪᴇs]
[ɴᴏ ꜰᴀᴍɪʟɪᴇs]
Fighting Style: Floats around on the breeze gently, trying to aim its bubble blow. If its lucky, it might land a hit. Mostly reliant on floating too high or erratically to be hit.
Abilities:
Bubble Blow - blows harmless, pretty pink bubbles.
Digivolves to Chilomon
ᴄʜɪʟᴏᴍᴏɴ
ꜰʀᴇᴇ
ᴛʏᴘᴇ: ʟᴀʀᴠᴀ
ɪɴ-ᴛʀᴀɪɴɪɴɢ
A cousin of Tanemon and Yokomon, this Digimon instead evolved to become carnivorous while living in areas of scarce nutrition.
Fighting Style: Chilomon is a very quiet and slow-moving digimon, gentle much like a plant, with movement akin to a hedgehog. It will usually try to defend itself with its Corpse Musk, much preferring not to move too much and remain camouflaged. If needed, Chilomon can jump quickly in order to land a small attack.

Abilities:
Corpse Musk - wafts a repulsive odour from its leaves that stuns nearby digimon. [1 post duration][2 post cool-down]
Green Snap - the tail bites onto the target painfully, but harmlessly. Immediately lets go, revealing shallow bite marks oozing with a strange green fluid.
Digivolves to Scolomon
sᴄᴏʟᴏᴍᴏɴ
ᴀᴛᴛʀɪʙᴜᴛᴇ: ᴠɪʀᴜs
ᴛʏᴘᴇ: ɪɴsᴇᴄᴛᴏɪᴅ
ʀᴏᴏᴋɪᴇ
At almost 7 feet long and capable of rearing its head up to the waist height of most humans, this digimon is longer than it is wide. It's also said that its psuedo-head confuses both predator and prey during battle, drawing attention away from its real head.
Fighting Style: As a Scolomon, Rinji is far more capable than his previous forms. He's quick on his legs, and his armour allows him to go straight for the attack without either deception or trickery. He can easily close the distance between himself and a far-away enemy, attack, and then rely on his defences - not being very big on dodging at close range. However, close-combat is also his specialty, allowing him to hit at his hardest.
Abilities:
[PASSIVE] Arthropod Armour: built like a tank with protective plating, Scolomon takes 1/3 less damage from attacks.
Red Roll-Out - Scolomon rolls up into a tight, impenetrable ball, and crashes into enemies with a bone-shattering force.
Singeing Shock - Scolomon generates an electrical current in its tail's blades until they glow red hot, and either slices at the target or hits them with the flat of the blade. Utility-wise it can cut through hard materials that'd keel to searing heat and sharp edges. For this reason, it can leave painful burns. [2x damage] [1 post cool-down]
Scarlet Rain - Scolomon summons glowing red projectiles of pure energy that can only be described as laser-like, and launches them at the target.
[RAM] Archaic Lightning - Scolomon generates a large electric current in its body by contracting its muscles, which it unleashes onto opponents with impressive electrical arcs.
Digivolves to Mukademon
ᴍᴜᴋᴀᴅᴇᴍᴏɴ
ᴀᴛᴛʀɪʙᴜᴛᴇ: ᴠɪʀᴜs
ᴛʏᴘᴇ: ɪɴsᴇᴄᴛᴏɪᴅ
ᴄʜᴀᴍᴘɪᴏɴ
As long as a run-away freight train and as wide as a bus, this digimon is feared for its ferocity and tenacity. Reports detail this digimon being somewhat of a nasty pest, siphoning off power lines and causing electrical disturbances.
Fighting Style: In this form, Rinji's emphasis on speed and attack are fully fleshed out. Relying on his defences, he's fully capable of rushing into battle at incredible speeds, much like a real centipede. His method of attack is absolutely vicious, without remorse or restraint. Biting, clawing, and coiling around victims isn't off the table - and being attacked back doesn't phase him. It's almost as if he doesn't feel pain. He's also unpredictable, acting of off instinct rather than logic or experience. His only thoughts in battle consist of an urge to seek and destroy, without much thought to anything else. It's not uncommon for him to lose control, becoming unresponsive to allies and focussing only on the fight.
Abilities:
[PASSIVE] Superbolt: if an electrical storm is present, one of Mukademon's electrical attacks may become supercharged, burning at a hundred times brighter than any normal lightning strike. Damage is quintupled [5x]. [1 PER THREAD]
[PASSIVE] Conductive Carapace: Mukademon's exoskeleton is an excellent conductor, while being capable of insulating its more vulnerable innards. Incoming electrical attacks of champion level do half-damage, the excess electricity being used to power up Mukademon's next attack, if electric, by half. Electric attacks performed by Rookie digimon have no significant effect.
[RAM] [PASSIVE] Primal Rage: Like a Tyrannosaurus Rex on steroids, Mukademon becomes more and more feral and untamed as a battle progresses. Pain becomes insignificant. Communication near impossible. Animalistic speed, reflexes and power are all that he becomes. Translates to a moderate boost in speed and power in exchange for a loss of control and logic.
[RAM Upgrade Plus] Volemic Ignition - Electricity courses through Mukademon, ready to be discharged through 'hot spots' on its body. The charge burns so hot, unfortunate victims will begin to feel their blood boiling, dealing immense amounts of pain. Possesses short-range capabilities if the electricity arcs, otherwise it may be used in a direct attack.
Incinerate Laser - Mukademon's jaws glow a deep crimson, and an extremely concentrated laser-beam is fired at the target, dealing piercing and burning damage from even considerable distances. Utility-wise, this attack is capable of cutting through steel and other hard objects. [2x damage] [1 post cool-down]
Corruption Crunch - Mukademon violently grasps and crushes the victim with powerful jaws, chewing through their very data. Hurts more than your average bite.
Rolling Thunderwave - By overcharging his carapace, Mukademon unleashes a wave of expanding air and debris in the form of a shockwave. A deafening thunderclap accompanies throughout the blast radius, leaving vulnerable humans and digimon knocked over with their ears ringing - and rendering them either stunned or disorientated for that round. Affects all targets in close range, even allies. The afflicted will either be immobilised or unable to attack that turn (their choice). [1 post duration] [3 post cool-down]
Encryption Storm - Electrical devices malfunction. Dark clouds blot out the sun. In the following turn, a full-blown electrical storm ensues. Blood red lightning arcs through the sky, and strikes unpredictably at the ground, worsening during each turn as more and more data is scrambled from the interference. Wireless communication becomes impossible, and two passive abilities of all non-Mukademon combatants are rendered useless. (For clarity I'll pick the ones that make the most sense to disable.) [1 post set-up] [4 post duration] [2 post cool-down]
[RAM] Break Away - An attack often unannounced, Mukademon breaks out of one imposed effect, such as mental or physical restraints, trackers and the like. [2 post cool-down]
Digivolves to MetalMukademon
ᴄʀᴇᴅɪᴛ: sɪᴍᴏɴᴇ ᴄᴀᴘᴀssᴏ (ᴡʜᴏ ᴅʀᴇᴡ sᴄᴏʟᴏᴍᴏɴ ꜰᴏʀ ᴍᴇ, ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴀ ᴘʀᴏ)

ᴛʏᴘᴇ: ɢɪᴀɴᴛ ʙɪʀᴅ
ᴡɪɴᴅ ɢᴜᴀʀᴅɪᴀɴs
ᴛʏᴘᴇ: ɢɪᴀɴᴛ ʙɪʀᴅ
Fighting Style: Aquilamon is primarily a soarer, and a dive bomber. He can either soar for hours, acting as a scout or any other form of aerial support, or cripple enemies with precise blows using his superior eyesight. Aquilamon's strengths are steady power and long endurance. Other bird digimon may struggle to combat him in terms of pure power, although they may be able to outmanoeuvre him.
Abilities:
Sky Raker - Aquilamon rakes the target with his talons, giving them nasty bleeding cuts. If he aims for the eyes, it inflicts temporary blindness from the pain. [1 post duration] [2 post cool-down]
Grand Rammer - Aquilamon either charges or dives into the opponent at high speed, ramming them with his horns. More altitude, and most importantly speed, determines the strength of this attack.
Searing Laser - Aquilamon fires a sustained red laser from his beak.
Desert Gale - Aquilamon flaps his wings to kick up whatever the terrain happens to be made from. Sand creates sandstorms, snow creates snowstorms, rocks make rockstorms etc. Obscures the battlefield, and sometimes hurts as much as getting pelted by debris can hurt. [2 post duration] [1 post cool-down]
Spiral Toss - Aquilamon grabs the opponent and hurtles them through the air, either into the ground or into another close object at hand.
Mach Impulse - Aquilamon increases his speed greatly. Makes chases effortless, and riders very scared. Combo'd with Grand Rammer in the next post, it can pack a punch. It does tire him out, unfortunately. [1 post duration (so the post it's used and the next post)] [2 post cool-down] Counts as a move, leaving him on the defensive/evasive on the post it's used.
