The weather was really hot today. Probably one of the hottest days ever since Yuu had taken residence on Whitewater. Still, she wouldn't relinquish this rare opportunity to just relax in the beach. Today was her free day, so... she owed herself that much. Even if she got sunburnt in the process. It was kind of weird, but she was determined to enjoy herself no matter what. At least, until... "The recruitment for that small voyage you had in mind finished. The applicants should arrive soon. Guess you won't explain them what's this about in a swimsuit, right? I'll bring you a spare..." ["No."] Akira's words were interrupted by a sign coming from the teenager that was still laying down on a towel in the beach's sandy floor. ["Just bring a can of beer. The people willing to do the job can come here at any time. I just want to explain them what's the job about and then go back to this. Doing anything else would be a hassle."]"Understood." Having said that, the digimon's disguised form left the scene. Nobody had arrived yet, so... they'd have the way free to arrive to the meeting place. Whitewater's beach was hard to miss, after all. "You should cut her some slack, you know? Akira's been doing an awesome job since she joined. Saying thank you from time to time won't kill you, you know?"Kyo, who had been silent up to now, moved from her site on a towel next to her partner's. The Plotmon sat, looking at Yuu with seriousness she didn't usually show. ["I know. It's just that... why today? I mean, it's not her fault but... you're right. Guess I'll be done with this quickly and then maybe do some apologizing."]"That's more like the Yuu I know. Just don't let the stress get to you. Won't end well."["I know."]Having fixed that, Kyo went back to enjoy the sun. The people who had decided to pick up this small job would probably arrive soon. Well; Yuu hoped they'd arrive soon; her free day getting spoiled by people she probably didn't know being late wasn't something she was looking forward to.
While the brunt of the mission will occur on Network Plains, the first few rounds will happen on Whitewater, so... introduce yourselves! Duncan Van Zan Katsura Ise vating

Duncan and Galahad make their way across the sand, talking quietly between each other. Duncan wore his black patrol cap, his usual shirt that had the sleeves torn off, with his normal pants and boots.
"This job sounds like a piece of cake." Duncan was saying. "It'll be an easy payday."
"Let's not count out chickens before they hatch Duncan. We could run into anything out here. So let's be cautious." Galahad says, being the voice of reason.
"Whatever you say Galahad." Duncan pushes Galahad slightly, like brothers would. Soon enough they find the woman they were looking for...sunbathing. "Uh, excuse me? We're here for the job? I'm Duncan and this is Galahad.." Duncan says, not wanting to be rude.

Katsura was coming in from the train station carrying Nyao the salamon in her arms, though she did not really want to fight they both needed money. Delivering snacks sounded like a safe way for them to make a living. Katsura was wearing her regular school girl outfit and Nyao had her special modified holy ring that she gained from their adventure in Luminas. Who knows what will happen to them on their mission.
It was also nice for Katsura to see that her travel partner was someone she already knew, she put on her fake friendly smile before nodding to Duncan and Gallad approving their presence. Then they saw a woman sunbathing who was probably the one.
Katsura walked through the sand, "Hello, we're here for the job offer?"

Timothy had been riding on the shoulder on his Karatenmon, casually looking around for a group of tamers and digimon that seem to be on business from the sky. Turns out, that's no one here because everyone is relaxing. He decided his next bet would be to spot familiar faces, which made a much better result as he saw bow Kasura and Duncan. Karatenmon landed next to them and turned back to Bibi and Faluo as Timothy hopped off their shoulder.
He looked between the two, then at the sunbathing woman and shrugged, "Guess this is where the job offer is from?"
Bibi ran up to Katsura and said, "Hey! It's been a while!" Faluo casually went over to Galahad, saying, "How've you been friend?" Timothy looked between these two and laughed a little, for once they weren't arguing. He was gonna like this entire trip, wasn't he.

The trio arrived in a quick succession; people Yuu hadn't seen in her whole life, to boot. They all looked young, eager, and willing to make some money.
She definitely could appreciate that. Sitting up on her towel, she faced the group of three people and four digimons; Kyo was quick to go to her side, regarding the group as well, but taking special interest on her fellow Plotmon. The uncommon sight made her grin.
"Hello, everyone." The digimon greeted cheerfully. "Glad you all could make it to this place. Make yourselves comfortable."
For the sake of simplicity, all the instructions were already written in a moving writing board that was brought by Akira as soon as she came back. Along with Yuu's beer, of course.
The instructions were mostly clear. In there, the map with the route that went towards Network Plains was neatly described, along with the place where the Trailmon was to be boarded and where the turn in point was located.
Your job is to guard the shipment, to ensure that the trip goes smoothly and to help the Trailmon's crew, should they need it. However, you should be aware somebody will try something along the line, so be on your guard.
After you're done, you come back here and you get paid; then you're free to go. Is everything clear, or you've got any questions? If so, this is your opportunity to ask them.
The human and both digimon remained there, regarding their temporary employees as they went through the instructions. They looked more or less promising, but time would tell that.

It was nice to see familiar faces.Katsura and Nyao, and Timothy and the Twins. Duncan smiles and waves at Kat, and then nods towards Timothy when he arrives. “Hey guys, good to see you. Glad i got some familiar faces to work with.” He says, genuinely happy to see these people.
Galahad offers a gloved fist toward Faluo and waits to receive the fist bump. “Hey there Faluo. Good to see you! Lets do this thing!” Galahad grins toward his friend. Duncan steps forward, toward the bathing suited woman and smiles.
“Do you have any intel on who might try something? Any advanced warning toward what we could be facing could prove beneficial...to all involved parties.” Duncan asks, while trying to think up any other questions that would help them get there and back with the most ease.

It was nice to see that Duncan was not the only familiar face among Katsura. Also Timothy was joining in and so was his two partners who for once weren't arguing en masse. Just one week ago seeing a talking bird coming near her would have freaked Katsura out but now she had got used to the digital world. She still feels it necessary to keep up being happy and cheerful around people who she hadn't learned to trust fully. This time it helped her though that her adventure to Luminas city had matured her significantly. Katsure went on her knees to greet the Faluo and Bibi who where coming to hear about how she had been. "Fine, I guess" Katsura said, for once Nyao struggled to tell her fake friendly smile apart from her rare regular smiles but decided not to bring it up.
Katsura then realized that it was time for their new boss Yuu to introduce them for the job, after all they where here to do a task which included delivery of lemonade. They were shown a map and it seemed like they were going to be travel through train, so far so good. But then Yuu said something that made Katsura freak out and regress back to be nervous, that they had to be guards and something will attack them on the way.
"Why would anyone attack us? I thought we were just transporting lemonade."

Timothy smiled at his two allies, knowing very well that they were both pretty awesome people. He nodded to Katsura, then to Duncan, then turned to lady, "So... We need to protect the train and help the crew with any problems basically, got it. That shouldn't be too hard." He then turned to Katsura, trying to reassure her after noticing her clear nervousness, "Believe me, the craziest stuff happens in the Digital World. Don't worry too much though, just focus on your partner and you'll be fine." He then turned to Duncan, "I'd probably bet it'll be the one coming towards us while we're on a trainmon, and keeping up."
Faluo returned the Fist bump, nodding his approval, "Yes, let's. Nothing will stop us." In his head, he was already playing out methods of teaming up with Galahad in a way to use their strengths to their advantage.
Bibi jumped around a little excitedly, "We're gonna be crazy!" Timothy wasn't sure if that was a good crazy or a bad crazy...

A fair point was brought by two of the expedition's members. One was way more distressing than the other, for sure... but both were important for the operation's success. Yuu left her beer on her side, took a notepad and... began writing, all while signing to the disguised ToyAgumon with her free hand. ["Do we have some chalk, Akira? Guess some explanations are in order."]
"We do. I've predicted you'd need some."
["Excellent"] Once she had written that note, she tore that page out of the pad, stood up and handed it to Katsura while going towards the board.
I won't sugarcoat it; the Digital World is a very strange place. I've seen humans and digimons paying the ultimate price for things as innocuous as being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Comparatively, this is serious business; you might think that it's just "lemonade", but providing the workers in the plains with enough refreshments is currently among the most profitable endeavors in this land. Now... let me ask you, how do you think that the existing powers in the market will react to a newcomer, a newbie of all things trying to get a slice of that cake for her? I doubt that the consequences will be fatal at first; maybe they'll just hijack the shipment and mess with the crew of the transport, but I'm not running any risks.
And that's why you are here, in this place. You're by no means forced to go on with this endeavor. The recruitment was an open thing, and I'd understand if you'd prefer to not to get involved, but I urge to make your mind about this right now, because I'd need to search for a replacement if you're not in.
Now that she was in front of it, Yuu flipped the board and began to write on the blank surface. This would probably take some time, even if she just went through the basics. By the time she was finished, two drawings with their matching description could be seen; one was... a pretty big and vaguely humanoid piece of poo, while the other resembled a fluffy mouse of sorts.
PlatinumSukamon. He's not the sharpest knife on the drawer, but he's vicious and cunning; likely to try for the direct approach, then mask it somehow as an accident or something. Has rather... peculiar tastes when picking henchmen; you'll notice what I'm talking about when you see them. Just... remember to shower before coming back here if you stumble upon them.
Tyutyumon. This one is far dangerous than PlatinumSukamon, because his methods are stealthier and harder to notice. Ranging from sabotage to subterfuge to try and deceive you, you need to have your ears and eyes open at all times. I've yet to see him or his henchmen in action, but that means that he's just that good, because I've witnessed the impact of his machinations.
That's all the relevant data of who are your opponents in this small venture. So... any other questions?

There was the faint noise of a motor coming from the ocean as all this was happening. The noise of that motor was coming from a jetski being driven by a rather frantic Gaomon, who was muttering that he was late. Dressed in sunglasses, a yellow tropical shirt and a backpack, he saw the party on the beach and turned it toward them.
"Oh crap I'm gonna be so late!" he muttered as he approached the shore. He knew that it had been a mistake to stay up all night doing a marathon of the Harry Patamon movies, but it was a bit late to think about that now. Hiring a jetski had been the only way he could make it to the meeting on time.
Terrified he had missed the briefing, Owen hoped they would wait up for him. As he neared the shore, it became rough as the waves carried him up and down. It looked like he was just about to make it before a sudden large wave just before the shore break actually launched his jetski in the air. He gave a surprised scream as the ski flew forward and crashed in the sand.
The Gaomon was sent flying for about 50 feet before he landed face-down in the sand amongst the participants of the group. Embarrassed, but trying to hold his dignity, he got back to his feet, brushing the sand off his fur, the Jetski badly damaged.
"Er... sorry about that" Owen said to the group, giving an apologetic nervous grin. He rested his broken sunglasses on his forehead. "I, er, heard you were hiring work. And since I seem to have just lost my deposit on this jetski, I... ah... kind of need a job?" he asked, awkwardly as the jetski hissed and the engine finally died. "I'm a hard worker I promise".

Katsura was rather freaked out by the fact that there were dangers connected with something as simple as delivering lemonade. How could something as innocent as a lemonade stand attract such a threat? The fact that there was apparently a whole lemonade business bent on killing innocent people and digimon shock her to the core. Katsura was never that brave, even the time she stood up for her dad it was fear and a need, no urge not to let Nyao get harmed the same way.
After reading the letter through, Katsura panicked and was about to leave.
"No-no no huff huff. I'm not doing it! I'm not doing it! This is too much." Nyao stopped Katsura; "Katsura, I promise you that no matter what happens I will keep you safe. Please, we need the money." Katsura shrugged, she was about to object again but Nyao had already been pulling off her begging eyes that Katsura still haven't learned to resist. Katsura sighed, reluctantly she returned to the others just in time to see the whiteboard and hear the explanation. And then she saw a mouse and a turd being drawn on the whiteboard, Katsura assumed that the mouse was a digimon.
Fortunately, Yuu allowed them to ask questions. Now Katsura had the option to find out more. Katsura raised her hand.
"Why did you draw a turd on the whiteboard? Do digmon mice eat poop instead of cheese? Why do poop-eating mice want lemonade? Is it even lemonade? *giggles*" Ever since returning to the group Katsura had a over cheerful friendly attitude... Including while asking questions that made Nyao cringe on Katsura's behalf.

Timothy was largely confused at what just happened. Where did they get the chalk, and how does that reassure someone? He pondered on this for a moment just as Katsura had walked off. He hoped she'd return soon, he needed someone to help him out. Bibi and Faluo sat casually next to each other now, just listening to the briefing. Most of it went through the three of their heads somewhat easily. Ride train, protect lemonade, kill hostiles.
Soon after, they all witnessed a Gaomon... fly into the sand next to them. It looked painful, but Bibi couldn't help up laugh. The group stared at him a moment, before Timothy said, "Are you alright? And you're not too late. You just need to know to ride trains, kill boarders, and protect lemonade."
Timothy then decided to get up and try to help reassure Katsura, only to see her returning already. Good, now he stands a better chance. He sat back down, then gave her a nod, "Welcome back." He then turned back to the briefing which had just finished.
None of them had any questions, only mental concerns about their foes. They were pretty much ready to go, that was, until Katsura asked about mice eating poop and if the lemonade is even lemonade, this caused Timothy to chuckle a little, "No no, the turd is another Digimon, the mouse hands out with the tu- pfft- and the lemonade is well... Now I'm curious, do these guys have any 'special' habits that we can make fun of?"
Bibi and Faluo were clueless as to why this was so funny to Timothy or Katsura, clearly it was PlatinumSukamon and Tyutyumon.

When had this... devolved in such a way? An otherwise serious briefing was converted into a scene that seemed to be out of a humor show. Oh well, if life gave you lemons...
Both Yuu and Kyo was guffawing at the combination of Katsura's ridiculous question and Owen crashing a jetski mere meters away from them. This anecdote would definitely be hard to rival. "Jeez, guys. You're undoubtedly a piece of work. Anyhow, to answer both of your questions.." The small digimon looked at her canine fellow. "You can consider yourself hired. Here's the briefing of what you gotta do."
Once again, the board was flipped to see the first part of the mission, and the objectives that they were to pursue. Yuu gave the newcomer plenty of time to observe the plan and to ask any questions he might've had before flipping the board back, looking at Katsura with an entertained expression. "Those two are... digimons, the turd included. And as much as the idea of coprophagic mice entertains me, that guy is made out of solid platinum, so... I don't think anybody would be able to stomach it. As for the habits, I'm afraid that neither of us is a paparazzi, so finding the gossip about 'em is up to you."
That had been a fun twist to this small venture, they had to admit. "Anything else you might want to ask? Or do you think you're ready to begin?"

So he was hired? Awesome! Owen had made it in time after all. He gave a nervous grin to his soon-to-be colleagues. Two didn't appear to react to him, while the others giggled at him. Well, he didn't mind. "Yeah, I'm okay" he said. "Physically, I mean..." he cringed at the sight of the jetski.
He adjusted his tropical shirt, brushing the rest of the sand off and paid attention to the task at hand. Apparently his job would be to guard a shipment on a Trailmon. All fair enough. "Sounds like something I can do" he said. Guarding things was his specialty. Especially if it involved sweet food. He wouldn't eat it himself of course, but, doing a good job with it normally resulted in nice rewards.
"So... the main threat is PlatinumSukamon and Tyutyumon, right?" Owen asked, it seemed to be the case that this digimon would try a sneaky scheme to steal the lemonade or otherwise cause mischief. "Alright, I'll keep an eye out for those two. And a nose as well" he tapped his muzzle, there wasn't much that escaped notice by the Gaomon.
He was a little worried though, because it seemed to be emphasized that the Tyutyumon was very good at what he did. But hopefully he wouldn't be able to outsmart them all.
He was asked if they were ready to begin. "Alright, so all we need to do is protect the Trailmon across the Network Plains?" he asked. "Sounds good! I think that's all I need to know". He hoped he hadn't missed anything important in the briefing that he was late for. "Oh, wait, so, the Trailmon knows who's receiving it, right?" he asked, not wanting to give the lemonade away to a trickster, or the person that didn't order it.

It seems like Owen the boxer-mon as Katsura calls them had joined the group in the most random way possible. Katsura missed most of his entrance but the parts she did see didn't change her facial expression at all. It was like nothing could break her friendly cheerful face. Katsura could see humans around her were starting to laugh, she assumed that Owen's entrance was supposed to be funny and thus Katsura laughed with delayed response. Some people might realize that Katsura doesn't actually know when to laugh nor by what so she just laugh whenever everyone else does.
Additionally, Katsura now understood that there was, in fact, a Digimon made of platinum shaped like a turd.
"That makes no sense" Katsura remarked to emphasize how illogical Digimon species seem for her. Nyao just gestured to Yuu to move on. Nyao knew full well that Katsura could go on for a long time, especially because social reactions confused her a lot. That's why Nyao more often than not had to flat out tell Katsura how normal people react to situations outside her everyday.
Since everyone else around her had good questions she couldn't compete with, Katsura just waited for Yuu to answer the questions.
