Sophie supposed she should say something profound as she stepped off the Trailmon that brought her to another world. But, ah, screw it. It wasn't like she was jumping down from a lander onto Mars. The trip here had been as easy as taking a train from one station to another.
Well, that train was actually a living, talking being, and Sophie had experienced something quite odd as she passed from Earth to the Digital World, but, it still sufficed.
Sophie was dressed in her usual outfit - wearing a pair of light blue jeans with sneakers on her feet - a blouse on her torso with a dark grey duffel coat over it. She even was wearing a pair of sunglasses, which she removed upon exiting the Trailmon and stepping onto the platform. If she was going to another world, she'd be damn stylish while doing it, dagnabbit.
At Sophie's side was a fluffy white lion digimon, dressed in fine blue armor stylized with fleur-de-lis symbols. Strapped over his back was a butter-knife sword. So it seemed, according to her little brother Colin, this Spadamon was her partner. A Spadamon that she had decided to name "Lantis". Thankfully Lantis liked his new name, and so that was that.
"Well, Lan, here we are" Sophie said as they stepped clear of the carriage. "Somehow it feels even better being here on the second go"
"You were here before?" Lantis asked, genuinely curious.
"Yeah, my brother took me here earlier this week" Sophie said. "Him and his partners, Bellamy and Luke. Do you know them?"
"Them? Oh yeah of course I do. I saw them in your apartment last night" Lantis said, shrugging. "We caught up for a bit. I know Bellamy at least, he tried to hit on me once. But I declined, because I was on duty, and uh, I'm also kinda straight".
"Heh, right" Sophie said, a little amused. "So then. I take it since you were worried about being AWOL, you'd best report to your Cadet officer, right?"
"Right, that's the plan" Lantis said, bracing himself. The Spadamon was a cadet of Terminus City Security after all. And so the newly formed partner and digimon left the station and proceeded into the Terminus City proper, entering the hustle and bustle of the resident digimon and scattered other humans.

"Hey, this looks yummy!" Bulk said with a bit of drool hanging from the side of his mouth. He was pointing at a large bone with a slab of meat on it and when Trey came along to take a closer inspection, he noticed the name on the side of the stall. "Tanemon's Meats. The best meats grown in the best farms." He said out loud as he read the contents of the sign. He thought about it for a moment before realizing that this was probably a store owned by the same Tanemon he bumped into not long ago. The same day that both Bulk and Skull obtained their armor forms. Skull was a little further behind trying to avoid bumping into other Digimon as the place was quite crowded. When he finally caught up, he took hold of his brother's tail and began dragging him along and away from the stall. "H-hey, w-wait!" Bulk exclaimed in disappointment. Trey continued to follow his twins, looking at all the different stalls and shops that were available to the general public. It was Trey's first time to Terminus City and just over an hour ago, it was his first time traveling by a Trailmon. The experience wasn't really all that different from just regular subway train, however he did have to admit that there was a strange feeling that went through him when they passed the boarder between the Digital World and the Human World. "Hey Skull?" Trey called after the Gabumon who was still dragging his brother by the tail. "What is the point of us being here?" He asked curiously. He didn't mind being here but it was odd being somewhere without a purpose. "I thought it would be best to show you around Terminus City. If you come to the Digital World you should always stop by Terminus City." He replied, finally letting go of the Agumon's tail and snarled a little before taking pace again. Trey had never seen so many Digimon before and more importantly, in the same place at once. Everywhere he walked it seemed like he was stepping out of the way of another Digimon and although he tried his best to ignore it, there was one thing that he noticed ever since entering the city. "I kind of get the impression we are not liked much." He said, noticing a pair of Penguinmon staring at him with a rather disgusted expression. "Not we, just you." Bulk replied, turning back to his partner with a playful smile. "It is not often that a Digimon gets to see a human. More importantly, many Digimon hate humans and that is why we don't ever want you to come here without either of us. Understand Trey?" To which the human boy nodded. They came to a more opened area with a fountain displayed. Here, Trey was starting to feel the warmth of the sun and just remembered that it had been raining in the Human World so he was still in a jacket and long pants. "Hold on a second guys." He said, taking off his brown backpack and placing it on the ground in front of him before unzipping his grey hoodie and placing it into the bag so that he was left in a white singlet shirt, dark grey jeans a black converse shoes. He was just about to sling his backpack over his shoulder when out of no where, a little pink mouse/rat Digimon took hold of it, ripping it out of Trey's grasp and running off. "My backpack!" Trey called, pushing into a run after the little Digimon who already had both Bulk and Skull hot on its tail.

Sophie and Lantis were walking for a few minutes through the city, taking in the sights with interest (and foreboding). Sophie thought that seeing all these digimon around was just adorable. Even if most of them had terrifying magical powers, they still just looked like cute talking animals to her.
Even if most of the digimon in the city shot her suspicious looks of distrust, Sophie tried to mind her own business. And if a digimon had a bone to pick with her, Lantis would do his best to stick up for her. Sophie was reasonably confident that none of them would try to attack her though.
Eventually, they saw another human nearby. He seemed to be a twin tamer, like Sophie's brother, going by the two digimon at his side. Or was just one of them his partner while the other was independent? She wasn't sure.
"What digimon are they, Lan?" Sophie asked her partner.
"That's an Agumon and a Gabumon" the Spadamon said, looking slightly incredulous that she didn't identify these two digimon. But he wouldn't judge her for it.
Then, all of a sudden, as the other boy was taking off his hoodie, a Chuumon suddenly stole his bag, running off. This was of course a terrible turn of events.
"Stop!" Lantis immediately shouted, running after him. Sophie blinked, a bit shocked at the current turn of events. But then she realized what was happening. It appeared that Lantis had suddenly found a job to do as a cadet.
Supposing Sophie should stick with him, she ran off after him. Lantis then soon caught up with the Agumon and Gabumon, sprinting. His running too strenuous to talk for the moment, he acknowledged them both with a nod. The three of them could surely take him down.

Both Bulk and Skull were running as fast as they could but in all honesty, they weren't exactly the fastest running Digimon out there. They had relatively short legs but they were keeping up to a minimum distance so that they didn't lose track of the little pink mouse. Trey was further back, having been caught off guard that he had a slower start but he was in a good pace in order to see his partners ahead, thanks to his years of gymnastics training. He had great stamina and although he wasn't a runner, he could still hold a good pace for quite some time. It was at this moment that Trey saw another Digimon pass him with ease, something that resembled a lion cub which was a curious thing for the young human to see. Thought, thinking about it realistically, everything in the Digital World would be a curious thing to a young human boy.
"When I catch that mouse I am going to delete that little pest!" Bulk stated, growling deeply as the little Agumon kept pace with his brother beside him. "I don't think stealing is a cause for deletion." The Gabumon responded, noticing that the little pink mouse was coming to a fork road. "Pepper Breath!" Bulk called, firing a fireball out of his mouth that hit the ground where the mouse was headed, causing it to detour onto the other path. "Ouch!" The Agumon exclaimed after feeling the wack of his brother from behind the head. "I am not trying to delete him, I was trying to make him go down the other path. Its a dead end." He explained the two of them running a little bit faster which had only made their words broken and exasperated. It was here that they took notice of another Digimon now running beside them, though this one seemed to be running at an easier pace. "My - legs - are - just not - cut out - for this." Skull sighed, struggling to keep up. If he were to Digivolve then there would be no issue.
The Agumon nodded in response to the new partner while the Gabumon starter to fall back, unable to keep up. If he wasn't wearing his fur coat, he probably would be able to keep up better, but there was no chance of him running around as a naked Digimon when there were so many other Digimon eyes around. The striped Digimon's pace lowered and lowered until Trey was now beside his horned friend. "Hey Skull, are you okay?" He asked, taking breaths between words to which his partner responded with an overly exhausted inhale. He attempted to speak but instead just held his side, meaning the little guy had a stitch.

Lantis made a noise of shock as the Agumon fired a Pepper Breath at the Chuumon. Was he mad? He could hurt someone! Fortunately it didn't, and the plan was to send the Chuumon into a dead end. Well then. They were probably going to corner the rat. Lantis hoped he wouldn't have to use his sword, but, things like that happened.
Sophie meanwhile certainly wasn't expecting this turn of events. Good thing she was wearing her running shoes and not her fashionable designer heels, although she still looked undignified, running like this. But she didn't want to be left alone in this city, so she had no choice but to keep up with her partner.
The Gabumon broke off the chase, leaving Agumon and Lantis to continue. Sophie looked with sympathy as the Gabumon seemed to have a stitch. Oh that must be nasty. "I hope Lantis can handle this" she murmured, looking where her partner was chasing the Chuumon toward.
As Chuumon ran down the path, Lantis sure hoped it was a dead end. He panted, his armor stifling from the effort.

Bulk continued to chase after the little mouse Digimon and hadn't really noticed that his brother had drifted back to meet their Tamer. Bulk was the one who ate the most out of the two of them, hence his name, but for some reason he was still far more athletic than his brother. The Agumon ran around a bend and used the corner of his eyes to look at the other Digimon running beside him. He had no idea why the Digimon was helping but he was grateful though. He knew that the Digital World and the Human World weren't all that different so when help came knocking, it was always polite to open the door? He was sure that is how it was said anyway.
When they finally reached the dead end, the little mouse came to a skidding halt, freezing just before hitting the wall and dropping the bag beside itself, turning back to see the others approaching. Seeing this, the Agumon also came to a halt but kept a distance between himself and the mouse. Sure, the creature was only small but from what Bulk had learned, small things can pack quite the punch. "No where to run." He exclaimed with a deep, low growl. Narrowing his eyes on the Digimon to watch its every move. The little mouse took a step back until its back was against the wall, its legs shaking furiously in fear.
Trey felt sorry for Skull who was having difficulty keeping up. He actually wanted to stop and pick the Gabumon up and carry him the rest of the way, it would have been relaxing for him and a work out for Trey. Though they didn't have the time and it was probably a little degrading for the Gabumon to handle. Well at least Skull would have seen it as a little degrading. He had legs now so he could use them.
Trey heard the young girl behind them as they were running and he had noticed her a little earlier, taking note that she was with the Digimon that was running beside his other partner. "Lantis your partner?" Trey asked, looking over his shoulder at her. "I don't know much about this world but your friend is with my friend so..." He had to stop there for a moment. He wanted to say something like 'they will be perfectly fine' or 'there is nothing to worry about', but this was Bulk he was talking about and Skull couldn't resist looking up at his Tamer thinking the exact same thing.

It turned out that it was in fact a dead end. Lantis was glad that the chase was halted for now, but he knew not to relax just yet. A cornered rat was a deadly rat after all. Knowing what was at stake, he decided to call rank, drawing his sword.
"Chuumon, I'm Lantis Spadamon, member of the Terminus City Security Cadets" he said in a formal voice. "If you know what's good for you, you'll give that bag back. Stealing is explicity forbidden. If you resist any further, you'll be punished".
Saying this though, Lantis kind of doubted that this was the first time the Chuumon had heard that. Lantis would be extremely lucky if this was simply a first time offender who had gone astray and could still be convinced to go off the path of criminality. But it didn't work that way it seemed.
Sophie meanwhile, still running behind Trey, acknowledge his words with a nod. "That's okay, that's my sentiments basically" she said quickly. "Let's make formal introductions once our partners get your bag back, okay?" she suggested, thinking that would be the wisest. It would be hard to make formal acquaintances while they were flat out running like this.

The Chuumon embraced the wall behind it and clenched tightly, the Digimon's trembling lessening until finally the little mouse smirked. It definitely heard what Lantis had said but it didn't seem to care all that much, instead it took hold of the backpack again and reached in with one arm. "Get your hand out of that bag." Bulk growled deeply, narrowing his eyes on the little mouse and baring his teeth. "That is not yours, now give it back." It was at this moment that Trey and Skull finally caught up along with Lantis' partner but Trey and Skull didn't say anything, instead they too watched the Chuumon. "W-wait." The Chuumon responded after realizing something. "It-its not here." The little Digimon stated, a panic'd expression forming on its face as it start rummaging through the back desperately.
Bulk was becoming furious and started to open his mouth, flames sparking inside as he drew in a breath but before he could do anything, Trey was already there, taking his partner Digimon by the hand. The Agumon looked up at his human, a little surprised but Trey just shook his head. "What is it you are looking for?" Skull asked, approaching from behind the other two. Trey began to recount everything that was in the backpack and there wasn't anything overly important. The Chuumon was now halfway inside the backpack, pulling out various contents in a panic. "WHERE IS IT!?" The Chuumon called out but it was talking to itself and not the others in front of him. A jacket, a bottle of water, a flashlight and underwear were tossed out of the backpack and the sight of his underwear instantly embarrassed Trey and made him blush, covering his face.
When Trey raised his hands to cover his face, it lifted his shirt a little which revealed the Digivice sitting on the edge of his belt. Chuumon took notice of this and as if going feral, leaped forward. "THERE IT IS!"

Sophie arrived on the scene just behind Trey, seeing the showdown between the digimon. While exciting, it was definitely a bit worrying. Especially when after Lantis's speech, Chuumon just grinned and scrounged around inside Trey's bag.
"Stop that right now!" Lantis added his voice to the others.
The situation grew a bit less tense as the item Chuumon was looking for didn't appear to be in there. Trey seemed embarrassed by his underwear flying around, but Sophie just shrugged. "I have 2 little brothers, not like I haven't seen them before" she said, shrugging. Usually they were left in a heap on their bedroom floors, and she sometimes had to wash them. But it was no biggie.
Then all of a sudden, Chuumon saw the thing he was looking for. Trey's digivice. He lunged toward it. However, Lantis had been standing at the ready.
"Mana Shield!" Lantis cried, standing in front of Trey and raising his left arm so his hand was stretched open. At once, a transparent blue shield appeared. This technique could nullify the damage and effects of any rookie level attack, and surely unless Chuumon had any piercing techniques, it would definitely not get through.
"Bad move" Lantis said, scowling. "This is your last warning" he held his sword steady. He hoped he wouldn't have to use deadly force in front of Sophie.

Trey was immediately caught off guard and took a step back. Skull saw this coming and took hold of the back of Trey's shirt, pulling him down on to his rear end with a thud. Skull had pulled his Tamer down to avoid the lunging Digimon but was more surprised when Lantis had stepped in front, creating a shield that knocked Chuumon back onto the ground. They hadn't even formally introduced themselves and this stranger was already stepping up to protect those around it. In all honesty, Skull was quite moved by this display and it made him feel like he could trust this Digimon and his Tamer.
Trey had winced when he fell onto his butt and when he opened his eyes, he found the Gabumon standing beside him and the lion Digimon standing in front of him with that shield. Trey had to blink a couple of times before everything came into full view. The Agumon had looked back and growled at the movement. Bulk raised flames in his mouth and aimed for the mouse Digimon, drawing in breath to attack. "Pepper..." "Stop!" Trey called out to his partner while it was in mid attack. The reptile Digimon halted his attack and turned back to his partner, a confused expression upon his face. "Don't delete him." Trey continued. "We don't know why he wants the Digivice. Wouldn't it be better to find out." Although Trey said it in this manor, he really just didn't want his Digimon to go around and deleting every single Digimon that attacked.
The Agumon took a step back and grumbled something under its breath before heading over to Trey's side. Both twins helped the human back up onto his feet who turned to Lantis with a slight bow. "Thank you." Trey spoke sincerely, turning to Sophie and bowing to her to. It was at this time that the Chuumon had climbed back onto its feet, only to quickly dart for a small crevice within the brick wall of the dead end. Trey was disappointed, he was just about to ask the mouse what he wanted with the Digivice but he also wanted to reassure the Digimon that they weren't going to attack him if he only talked.
He let out a sigh before walking over, picking up the stuff that had been thrown out of his backpack and proceeded to placed them back in it. He knelt down and made sure everything else was still in there and zipped the bag up. Standing up again and turning back to the group. "T-thank you." He said softly, thankful that nothing was stolen. Though realistically, nothing in his bag was overly important.

Sophie was impressed by Lantis's quick reaction. She didn't know the lion knight had that kind of technique. It seemed that it was just what the situation needed, because even though the pink mouse digimon was intent on being a dirty thief, nobody present seemed to want to use deadly force against him. For this she was grateful. Sophie didn't want to see anyone die over this.
She watched with a worried expression as the orange lizard, an Agumon was about to breathe fire. Sophie already knew that digimon had all kinds of magical attacks, so this one seemed just as deadly. But thankfully, he didn't get the chance to set it off.
Unfortunately, they didn't get the chance to apprehend the Chuumon, he simply decided to escape. Sophie was a little disappointed, but, it seemed that he hadn't got away with anything. With the excitement gone, she realized she was a little out of breath from that frantic run. While not unfit, she wasn't exactly wearing ideal running clothes. She took a little while to regain her composure.
Lantis meanwhile turned to look at everyone. "Are we all okay?" he asked, hoping that none of them were in any bad way.
"I think so" Sophie said, bowing back politely to Trey. "Well, at least he didn't get away with your bag" she said, hoping that was all that could be hoped for.
"It's no problem. I'm part of the city security, well, a cadet anyway" Lantis said as he was thanked. "I'm Lantis by the way, but you can call me Lan. And this is my partner Sophie"
Sophie waved a little. "So, uh, people seem to be staring at us" she said, noting that digimon in the distance seemed to be peering in their direction. "Should we go somewhere to talk about what just happened?".

When Lantis asked if everyone was okay, Trey and Skull both nodded. Bulk nodded too but it was more evident that he was frustrated about how the Chuumon got away and it was because of this that his nod was a little less enthusiastic. The orange Digimon, after helping his Tamer off the ground and onto his feet, walked over to the wall in which the mouse Digimon had escaped and began sniffing the crevice. "I have a scent." He stated, turning back to the group to which Trey respond with a shake of his head. "Just let it go." There was tiredness within Trey's voice and it wasn't due to all the running. He simply didn't see the point of chasing after someone who had nothing of theirs in the first place.
Bulk walked back over to the group, taking up the opposite side of Trey while Skull occupied the other. He was murmuring under his breath, still disappointed that the Digimon go away but he didn't understand Trey's point and where he was coming from, even if there wasn't anything out rightly said. Trey turned to Sophie and smiled. "Yeah, thought I don't think there is anything rather important in it so I kind of feel like we did all that running for no reason." He said softly, scratching the back of his head with the sudden realization of house stupid he must look but at the same token, feeling awful for having Sophie run as well. "I am sorry to the two of you got involved." His apology was sincere and he performed a light bow to which his partner Digimon mimic'd.
Trey was a little surprised that Lantis was a cadet in the City Security. In fact, he didn't know there was a city security. Both Bulk and Skull had no idea either so when Lantis had introduced himself as a cadet, the two Digimon raised an eyebrow. "Thank you again for your help." Trey repeated, turning to Sophie as she spoke. She was right, Digimon in the nearby buildings and the Digimon further down the ally were all eyeing the them off and it wasn't exactly the most comfortable looking ally to be having a long conversation. "I agree. Let's go somewhere else."

Sophie noted the names of the Agumon and Gabumon - Bulk and Skull. Hm, she thought those names were unusual, but oh well, she wasn't one to judge. She had been the one to name Lantis after all, so she didn't want to come off as insulting.
"Well, the bag and the stuff in it is yours after all, so, I'd say it was important that you got it back" she said to Trey. "But oh well, no harm done. In fact I probably needed a bit of a run" she chuckled, hoping she wasn't sweating too much.
Trey agreed that they should continue this conversation somewhere else. And so Sophie walked out of the alley, looking around for a spot for them to talk.
"Well, we could go to Terminus City Security" Lantis suggested. "I have to go there anyway, let them know that, I kinda can't do my duties anymore if I'm a partner to a human" he gave a weak kind of grin. "While I go and get chewed out by the officer there, you could talk in the waiting room maybe? It's pretty quiet and safe in there. And you can make a report about the Chuumon if you wanted to".
After all, Terminus City security at the least was polite to humans. It was their policy to treat them as guests, hence why most digimon didn't actually act out on their prejudices against the visitors.

Although Trey wouldn't normally gauge how someone speaks or acted, he couldn't help but take notice of Sophie and the way she conducted herself. "Oh well, no harm done" and "I probably needed a bit of a run" weren't exactly the kind of things you would hear from a normal girl's mouth. In saying that, she had a Digimon partner and as far as Trey could tell, having one kind of changes you. Trey couldn't tell from where he was standing but he was raised by his mother and father to always be polite and kind to a lady. He took his backpack off of his shoulder and unzipped it again, digging down into the bottom of the bag with his free hand until he pulled out a white towel, roughly the size of a hand towel. He stepped forward and held it out to the girl with a polite smile. "Here, its clean." He felt he needed to state this considering not everyone carries around a towel in their bag. Trey was a gymnast so whenever he got hot a sweaty, he needed a towel to dry himself off. Some girls would see this as a 'move', a way to flirt with a girl or to initiate that first interaction but Trey did not have this thought at all. He was simply raised to respect women and would carry out that way with all women in the future.
Trey zipped the bag back up and threw if over his shoulder again before following Sophie out of the ally, his twin Digimon partners tagging along from behind. "Can we go somewhere with food?" Bulk asked to which Trey's expression fell a little dim. Trey often got pocket money for doing chores on his families farm, but not enough to afford feeding Bulk's stomach. He was actually considering, maybe, getting a part-time job, though he didn't have the time for one either. Trey chose not to answer his partner and continued to follow the human girl, Skull now wacking Bulk over the head for always thinking of food.
The three of them walked after Sophie and Lantis and when Lantis mentioned 'Terminus City Security', Skull took a step forward with curiosity. "May I ask you something?" He spoke, though he didn't wait for a response. "You just said that you have to go to Terminus City Security to tell them that you cannot do your duties anymore because you are now a partner to a human. Are you saying that you were a member of this security before meeting your human?" Trey looked at the Gabumon with a raised eyebrow to which Skull continued. "I mean, Bulk and I were reborn as Digi-Eggs and found ourselves in his bedroom. How did the two of you meet?" Trey was actually more interested in the last question, it was an interesting one as he hadn't met many other humans with Digimon partners and was curious as to how they met their Digimon.

Sophie was surprised when Trey offered her a towel. She wasn't expecting that amount of politeness. "Wow, such manners" she said, smiling a little. Of course she didn't see it as a flirt, just a mere way of helping to pay back the favor.
Lantis meanwhile looked at Bulk when he asked if they could go somewhere with food. "I'm happy to show you a nice cafe after I finish up at the cadets, I won't be long" he said, grimacing. "Mainly because I'll have to resign".
"What? Really?" Sophie asked, a little shocked to hear this, handing back the towel.
"Yeah... kind of a main policy that digimon partnered to humans can't serve in it" the Spadamon explained apologetically. "That my main job is to look after you and not be city security. That's okay though. I've enjoyed being your partner so far so I'm happy".
Sophie wasn't. She didn't know that becoming a partner with him would force Lantis to lose his job. And she felt bad about that. But... well, as long as Lantis was truly happy then she could come to terms with that.
Lantis then turned to Trey as he asked if he was in the security before meeting Sophie. "Well, yeah..." he said awkwardly. "I mean... I didn't know I was a partner digimon at first, my egg hatched in Primary Village like most others and I made my way to Terminus City once I evolved to Rookie. Then I end up accidentally being on a Trailmon as it headed to Earth and ended up at the Shibuya Terminal at night... then I met Sophie and... well... things seemed to fall into place afterward".
"Is that... unusual?" Sophie asked, raising an eyebrow. Was she meant to have found Lantis's... 'egg' earlier?
"I don't really know. I haven't met much other partner digimon" Lantis answered. "Well then. I guess the sooner I can quit the cadets the sooner we can eat, eh?" he gave a smile at the others.
