"Careful now, Hikaru," Yuuki told his partner. After being a Dorugreymon, Hikaru seem to prefer to use this form to transport them. Yuuki had no idea why exactly would he evolve to this form. For him, being a Dorugamon is already enough if they want to transport themselves. Their goal is ruin somewhere near here... well that was the plan...
Bzzzt
Strange sound that he's not acquainted to. It's something that he doesn't want to heard when he's thirty meters above the ground. That's beyond something that would make him able to land safely. Hikaru who also heard that voice immediately stopped midair.
Krrztt krrrkt
Again. At first he though that it's just from somewhere, but now he noticed that somehow his body is glitching.
"Oh shi--"
Krrrzzzt bzzt krrrkt
Without wasting more time, Hikaru speed off to the direction of the oasis. His body getting more and more glitching as he zooms to the destination. Soon the shell of Dorugreymon turned into Dorugamon. It's amazing how Yuuki still could hang on him without falling off despite his form slowly degrading. Hikaru's speed fell down drastically, even his Dorugamon form slowly disappears... Now, without his wings, he only could helplessly nosedive to the the oasis.
...The two of them hit the water of the oasis with a huge boom.

"We're lost, aren't we?"
"I know exactly where we are."
"Next to some watpurr doesn't count as knowing where mew are."
Yellow eyes adverted themselves from the green ones of his cat, as Asher tried to think of another excuse of how he knew where they were. Meicoomon just knew him too well!
"By a tree doesn't count, eithrawr. Or surrounded by sand, or..."
"-I get it. We're lost." Finally admitting defeat, the teen moved to sit near the water, with Whiskers close behind. "But, hey! It could be worse, right?" Asher should really know better than to say something like that! Whenever anyone even thought something along the lines of 'it could be worse' the situation always demonstrated how!
For instance, that Digimon plummeting from the sky looked very promising.
Whiskers was clearly paying more attention than her human, as she began to take a couple steps back, "Ashpurr," she began, keeping an eye on the creature that seemed to be having some notable flight issues.
"What? I haven't thought of another excuse ye- oh." Of course he was going to be oblivious at a time like this! With the boom of water, the redhead used one arm to cover his face, while Whiskers shuffled behind the spirit user to keep cover. Of course cats didn't like water! Luckily for her (and not as luckily for Asher), while a wave of water sprayed from the pool, what reached the duo only ended up coating the human shield. "Could still be worse?" Asher mumbled, pulling his glasses off and trying to dry them on part of his shirt. Not that it was particularly efficient, but whatever.
Peering around the spirit user, Whiskers took at look at the water, checking to see the status of those that had fallen in. "Yeah. Mew could be the one that's wings got clipped." What exactly had happened, there? Was it some ridiculous attempt at a cannonball? Or something actually serious?
Regardless, neither mercenary nor spirit user rose to check on the people that had fallen in. After all, they weren't drowning or anything, right? Maybe it was just someone's concept of a fun time!

"See? I knew it would be here!" the Spadamon declared, pointing to the palm tree by the water.
"Well that's just fine, Lan" Sophie James said, struggling to remain civil after walking for seemingly hours through a hot dusty wasteland. Well, at least she had dressed for it, wearing a sun hat, light jeans and a shirt. She hoped the small amount of sunscreen she had purchased before this trip would be fine. "An Oasis. Marvellous. Now exactly why are we here again?"
"I'm sorry, Sophie, but, you did say you were looking for your brother, right?" Lan asked. "I just heard around Terminus that his airship was seen in this area"
"Yes, and it clearly isn't here is it?" Sophie asked, then made a double-take. "...COLIN HAS AN AIRSHIP?!" she shouted, suddenly shocked.
"Well, an airship mercenary digimon, but yeah" Lan explained, sweatdropping. "Well... ah look, there's a human and a digimon already at the oasis" he said, pointing to Asher and Whiskers. "Maybe we can ask if they've seen them?"
"Alright" Sophie said, supposing that was logical. She and her rookie level partner approached. Then all of a sudden, another two figures seemed like they were falling from the sky. Sophie looked to see a large glitching... dragon? Which promptly turned into a small bipedal fox and suddenly dropped along with its partner into the oasis.
"That looks like a great idea" Lan remarked, greatly wanting to jump into the water as well, his armor very hot in the desert sun.
"...I don't know if they're alright, Lan" Sophie said, when the two failed to come up. Exchanging looks, Lan quickly removed his armor and Sophie removed her shoes. Well, a quick dip wouldn't hurt, they'd dry in minutes in this weather.
Without delay, the now armor-less Spadamon and Sophie dashed to the rescue, hoping to help the two that may be in trouble. That was some height they had fallen from, Sophie hoped they weren't concussed at the bottom.

They said if you fell from certain height and hit the water, the difference between it and hitting concrete is not all that different. Yuuki understood that very well. Afterall, he often fell from the sky in his biomerged form when he fought on the air. However, currently, he's not in form that could take any of this sort of beating. He's human in flesh and blood. Midair, he know that crash landing is unavoidable. He quickly ate a painkiller and tossed the bottle somewhere, hoping that it will land at least somewhere in the oasis, then pressed a button on his coffin-like cast that covered his left arm. The cast purged from his arm with a 'Pshuu' sound. Then... it's the time that will decide whether the water is as hard as concrete or it's just his feeling.
Shielding Hikaru who's now in his Dorumon form, Yuuki fell to the water with his back facing the surface. Thanks to Hikaru's quick wit, he could feel a protective shield on his back... but it still hurt like fuck. Hikaru lost his consciousness the moment he hit the water. The fell managed to make even Yuuki felt so dizzy that he had no idea where's top and bottom for a while... and before he knew it, he's already in the bottom of the oasis. The depth is about... five meters? Seven? He had no idea. Moving his deadweight of an arm, he grabbed Hikaru and began to swim to the surface. His leg still numb from the crash... but irregardless, his instinct for survival told him to keep swimming.
Three... two...
"GBLHB---!!"
Air bubble escaped from his mouth. The fell was too sudden that he doesn't even had the chance to get enough air for his lungs, and not to mention he did hit the water before, enough to knock some air out of his lungs... Ahh, to think that he'll fell in here...
This must be the silliest death ever, he thought. Yet, somehow, he saw figure of someone diving to the water to save him. Who...? His consciousness is getting blurry... He can't even maintain it for longer...

Oh, uh, okay! So, neither Digimon nor it's rider was surfacing. This looked like it was actually a problem! "Okay, I think we need to do som- Whiskers?" Turning to look, he found the Meicoomon was scrambling off toward who-knew-what. "Or you can run away. That works too," he mumbled, raising to his feet. But, before any action could be made, some girl and her Digimon had already taken the initiative. Maybe they were, like, Oasis Life Guards or something. Either way, better to leave it to someone who better knew how to handle the situation, right?
After a moment, Whiskers returned with one of her 'ribbons' wrapped around a pill bottle. "They dropped something," the cat informed, almost innocently, upon seeing the unenthused expression on her human's face.
"Well, I'm sure they're worried about that right now. You know, if they're alive."
"Why? Are they in actmewal trouble?"
For once, it was Meicoomon that seemed entirely oblivious to the issue at hand! "I don't know. Why don't you ask them? I mean, they're just underwater."
Peering into the water, Meicoomon tilted her head, "there are plenty of digimeown that can breathe underwater. And stuff to buy, if mew can't. If you're so worried, why aren't you helping them?"
Wow, this cat was just full of important questions! "Someone's already doing that," he notified, before kicking his shoes off and slipping into a shallow point in the water. It wasn't like getting wet mattered too much, anyway. The teen was already damp from being splashed! At the least, Asher could offer to help with something once they surfaced.

Sophie and Lan dove into the water. Sophie thought of herself as an excellent swimmer. Even if she grew up nowhere near the beach, she had learned how to do it at a young age in Nebraska. Since moving to Japan, she had kept it up, but, declined to take part in the school swimming team. She could never quite compete at the athletic level.
But hopefully her skills would be enough here - to pull a fully grown young man (by the look of it) and his digimon up to the surface.
Lan meanwhile was only a basic swimmer, his long shaggy fur slowing his movements, but, he could at least swim. And in the clear oasis water, they saw the condition of the two that had fallen in. The Dorumon wasn't moving - he must be unconscious. And the human partner? He was struggling.
Knowing she had little time left, bubbles bursting from the other guy's mouth, Sophie kicked as hard as she could and grabbed his hand. Wait... that wasn't made of flesh and bone. So that's why he was struggling?
Sophie then attempted to pull them back to the surface several meters above. It was hard to do by herself, but Lan arrived and assisted all he could, grabbing Yuuki by the back of his collar and kicking upwards. They made quick progress.
Finally, they broke the surface and took in a long awaited breath of air. Sophie hoped that they were still capable of breathing. She didn't know if she would be capable of reviving them with CPR, as she didn't know how to do that.
"You okay? Can you hear me?" she asked the two, urgently.

Yuuki's consciousness that nearly faded quickly resurfaced when someone grabbed his arm. At first he thought that it was someone that going to attack him, so he tried to pull back his arm, but upon noticing that they're instead pulling him UP, he let them do the work. The moment he resurfaced, he rose a thumb up to the two, albeit still coughing from the water ending on the wrong pipe. He saw someone on the shore. "Oi!" he called out to them. "Sorry, catch my partner for a bit!"
If Yuuki forces it, he's so not going to stay afloat longer. He tossed Hikaru to the stranger, hoping at least he could capture him, then quickly swims to the shore. He wanted to thank the two for helping him, but there's no time. He quickly grabbed Hikaru again and start doing CPR. Once, twice, no go... thrice, fourth time--- finally he coughed the water out, but still yet conscious. Still, Yuuki sighed in relief.
"Sorry about that... and thanks for three of you's help."
Yuuki plopped on the shallow water yet again, his body felt a lot more tired after that fiasco.
"...Anyone got towel?"

It felt like an eternity, waiting for the group to resurface. For a moment, Asher began to consider a worst-case situation. Meicoomon, on the other hand, still didn't seem all that concerned. Of course, tense situations always felt like they were taking much longer than they actually were. Once the lifeguards had brought a human and their Digimon back to the air, time returned at a much more alarming pace.
Especially since a random Digimon was being thrown. "Wh-at?" People were crazy! Who thought this was a good idea? Asher certainly didn't! But, stumbling forward, the teen managed to collect the Digimon and waited for any further instruction. Though, it seemed that the guy already had everything under control. Which, really, was great! Because Asher knew nothing about reviving Digimon!
Apparently CPR worked on them. Another thing that the spirit user knew almost nothing about.
Either way, he let the stranger do his own thing, while throwing an incredulous glance to the girl and her partner. Did they find any of this normal? The Digital World just never felt like it was making any sense. And, was he seriously asking for a towel? That was just icing on the metaphorical cake! "Sorry, I don't carry towels in the desert." Wasn't that a rule in some book? Always carry a towel? And, something about the number forty-two. But, that was really irrelevant right now!
"We have nyao towels! But I found your mewdicine?" Whiskers tried to offer as a form of silver lining, holding the bottle out with one of her tendrils.
Well, at least it was clear what his pet's priorities were. But, Asher's more fell under, "you're handling whatever just happened really well. Is this a common thing?" If it was, maybe they should consider a different mode of transportation!

Sophie and Lantis followed the two out of the water. It seemed the young man was alright, but his partner? He needed rescuscitation right away. The two watched with baited breath as they hoped that the Dorumon would be okay, so filled with suspense that the two dripped water without being bothered by it.
Finally, a response was obtained from the Dorumon and he coughed up water. Sophie let out a breath of relief, as did Lantis. It seemed all would be fine for these two, at least hopefully. "Will he be alright?" Lantis asked, hoping the Dorumon wasn't still suffering.
"It's uh, no problem" Sophie answered, finally realizing how sodden she was, looking down to see her clothes completely drenched. And Lantis? Well, his soaked fur clung to his body, making him look much skinnier than he normally was. But a quick shake took care of that, at least for the moment.
Well, at least the sun was warm and the air dry. Sophie supposed she'd just have to deal with it until her clothes dried normally. "So, uh, what the heck happened just now?" she asked, looking at Yuuki. "How come you just dropped out of the sky like that?"
She then looked at Asher and what she thought was his partner. "Hi there, sorry to barge past without speaking, just, yeah... had this matter to sort out".
Towels? "Nope, none of those, we weren't really expecting going for a swim" Lantis said, putting his armor back on.
Well then. Taking a deep breath, Sophie decided to sit down by the oasis water for the moment, that frantic effort taking a lot out of her. "I'm Sophie James, by the way. And this is my partner Lantis" she said, brushing wet hair out of her eyes. An introduction may be the best way to get things back to normal.

"He'll be fine," Yuuki answered. "...If you mean about breathing, but if you mean something else like why we crashed there, I have no idea. I really need to go back to the city but at this point it's rather impossible to do. Not with the sun being this hot," he admitted. "Night will be probably my best bet."
He took the medicine from the Meicoomon's hand. "Thanks for that. I dunno when I can refill this if this is gone, at least that helped somewhat."
He shook his head too at Sophie's question. "...I have no idea. All sudden my partner just degenerated midway. I think I'm happy that we could fell down on the water instead of the sand. No idea what would happened if we fell on the sand... exposed tissue will be the last of my worry."
Asher's question actually made Yuuki stopped on his thought for a bit. "...I'd like to say no, but I've been in a worse situation, so you can say that I'm damn too well used to it. However, nosediving in human form is definitely my first time and I don't want to repeat it, thank you very much. I usually fell in more... sturdier form. Anyway, name's Yuuki... that guy... is Hikaru."
Yuuki checked his digivice and upon seeing it.
"...You're shitting me..."
Almost all form sans the first three stages are locked.

A smile was flashed at Sophie, with a joking comment of, "so, I'm guessing you're not actually a life guard." Okay, so it was only a partial joke! At first, Asher had considered it a possibility! Though, that was pretty clearly an incorrect analysis, at this point.
"Your stupidity is leaking from your meowth again," Meicoomon was quick to grumble to her human.
This only warranted a forced chuckle, along with a soft, "you're really mean, sometimes!" Or most of the time! But, Asher wouldn't out his cat like that to strangers! They could decide how she was, on their own! Not that the feline really cared if people thought she was rude to the spirit user! If only they were actually tamer and partner! Then, she would have a reason to actually complain about this!
For the time being, the cat seemed more distracted by the Spadamon's armor. That wasn't their default design, was it? Though, her familiarity with the other 'breed' wasn't particularly notable. Maybe all of them looked fancy like that! Sometimes, the rookie wished that she had armor. But, it would be a lot harder to pretend to be a regular cat if she had clunky armor. The previously drowning stranger snapped her from the thoughts, as his medicine was taken back. "Mew're welcome!" Was it a rare purrscription? None of her business!
The thought of the partnered duo crashing into the sand, instead, made both spirit user and mercenary cringe. There wouldn't be much left to help, if that had happened. But, one part of the statement had caught interest. "In human form?" Asher repeated, curiously. First thought led to the idea that Yuuki was actually a spirit user, but this would diminish the second the digivice was noticed. Maybe humans and their partners had some weird digital-morphing-thing. No, thank you. Asher was suddenly glad to miss whatever excitement would make someone emphasize the human part of the act.
Putting a hand in his pocket, the redhead found himself to be the last one in this introduction. "I'm Asher. That's Whiskers." Aw, and he was even nice enough to ignore the 'Mister' part of his cat's name! Needless to say, Miss Whiskers was very pleased with this. She would have added that she was also content to go by Fluffykin, but there was no point in confusion.
Having nothing to complain about, regarding her introduction, the cat found plenty of time to focus on what Yuuki was doing instead. "Is something wrong?" Maybe, his statement was actually implying that something was very right! But, probably not. Optimism was always good to have, every so often, right? That was how the Meicoomon got through so many days spent with Asher, after all!

Sophie gave an exasperated sort of chuckle as the other guy said she wasn't a lifeguard. "Nope, just kind of good at swimming" she said, keeping a bit of modesty. All of this was a little overwhelming. Sophie had just realized that her actions had saved the life of two other people, and she was still kind of processing this.
Glad that the cute (but soaked) little fox-dragon would be okay, Sophie relaxed a little, seeing that he was indeed breathing.
"So... you were flying toward the city?" Sophie asked, curiously. Damn. If only Colin was around here with his "airship" then that would solve a lot of problems. But she could see no signs of it in the surrounding skies.
"Yeah... I'd say you were pretty damn lucky" she said. Falling from the sky into water, seconds from drowning, a lot of stars had aligned so that he was still in the world of the living.
Lantis's armor was indeed different from other Spadamons. Decorated with a fleur-de-lis emblem for one, he was kind of proud of it. Noble and elegant, he thought of it. Although how he came to have such armor, he didn't know.
Sophie and Lantis's curiosity as to how Yuuki was handling this so well was answered by his question to Asher, when he said that he had gone through situations worse than this. However, there was a word in there that Sophie homed in on.
"Wait wait" she said. "In 'human form'? Are you saying that you can transform into other forms?" she asked, somewhat astonished to hear this. While the digital world was a weird and fantastic place, she hadn't yet heard of humans that could transform.
Then Yuuki introduced them by name. As did Asher. Lantis looked at Hikaru as the Dorumon lay resting.
"Hikaru...?" he repeated. "I think I've heard of him". Namely in a brief report in the city by a digimon that was complaining about a Dorumon in a kilt loudly playing bagpipes. Lantis had received all sorts of weird complaints like this on his time in Terminus Security.
Sophie meanwhile matched Whiskers' concern for what was wrong with Yuuki's digivice.

"No, I am---I mean, I was not. Rustport is to other direction," Yuuki admitted. "We're around here for a job. It's seem there's a ruin here, but now that Hikaru is in this form I won't take risk." He then pointed at a general direction after looking at the compass. "Those way was our direction."
"A partnered human and Digimon with certain level and certain amount of bond can ascend to higher form. Human and Digimon, become one in what called as a 'isshin doutai'---or I guess 'one body and mind' for you guys. Human and Digimon just become one individual. Are they human? Or are they Digimon? It's up to debate, but at that point, you're both you and your Digimon, while your Digimon is also you, but itself. It's a strange feeling, but at the same time you'll be feeling not so helpless finally... that you also can fight," Yuuki answered to Asher's question. "Yes, if you're in higher level, you can also achieve that form, Sophie... probably. Then again, there's a specific humans with different Digivice that can turn into Digimons called Spirit Users."
The boy was a bit lost in thought that he didn't hear what Lan said, but the Dorumon on the other hand start coughing and stirring, seem to about to woke up from his short loss of consciousness. Yuuki meanwhile looked at the Meicoomon, then showed his Digivice
"...Well, see... this means I'm in deep shit."
The evolutions are locked. Indeed, it's a deep shit. "...I can't evolve Hikaru."

Only 'kind of' good at swimming? "Give yourself more credit," the teen smiled, "I don't think 'kind of' good would have cut it." Maybe Sophie should be a life guard! But, with the girl talking about how lucky Yuuki had been, Asher only found himself nodding in agreement.
Whiskers felt the need to inquire further on the plans prior to a crash landing. "What kind of job?" With so many people here, maybe it was still plausible for the tamer to complete his task! After all, Sophie and Lantis had already proved themselves useful once! They wouldn't reject a second chance, right? And, well, Asher had nothing better to do. The Maine Coon knew that much. They were still kind of lost!
Asher was far more interested in hearing about tamers turning into Digimon. That sounded really weird, and kind of confusing. How would they think? Surely, both beings couldn't think the same thing at the same time, right? The redhead was suddenly very glad that he didn't have to worry about the details on this. Shoving a hand into one of his pockets, the young man tried to process the information. "Well, I've learned something new," he admitted. "I really thought that was spirit-user exclusive!" Not such a special flower, huh, Asher?
Green eyes lifted to look at the device when it was shown to her, cross pupils shifting to examine it properly. The coughing caused the cat's ears to twitch, but she was focused on what could have triggered such an event! "Did mew break it when you fell?" Though, it seemed that the evolutions had broken mid-flight, if anything!

Sophie's face turned a little pink as Asher said that she should give herself a little more credit. She put that down to the hot sun though. "Well, thanks" she said. While the moment was rushed in her mind, she realized that pulling a young man and a digimon from the bottom of the desert spring with only her partner helping was likely a feat she'd be telling her grandchildren later on.
Sophie was kind of interested now. "Ah, you work in ruins? Sounds like an interesting job" she said.
"It's probably wise that you don't go if you can't evolve" Lantis added. "I mean, I can't evolve either so I'd know".
Sophie tried to listen to his explanation about 'Isshin Dotai', but, it went over her head for the most part. Oh well. Maybe later on in her adventures she'd find out more about it? As they were standing in the sun, Sophie's clothes began to dry somewhat, which she was glad of. But then Yuuki explained that some humans were Spirit Users.
"Ahh, I've heard of those" Lantis said. Further thoughts were interrupted by Hikaru regaining consciousness. Lantis and Sophie both looked at him.
"You okay there little guy?" Sophie asked the fox-dragon. Even if he couldn't evolve again, she hoped he was faring well.
