How long had they been running? To be more accurate, how long had he been running?
Oboro quickly made his way through the tundra with Gomamon draped over his back. He was covered in scrapes and scratches after trying (and failing) to fend of their pursuer, an angry Hyogamon. Oboro had been running his mouth off to this Ogremon variant, and the tempermental beast did not take kindly to it.
"You know, Gomamon, you need to lay off the chocolate bars!" Oboro snarked.
Gomamon just made a weak grunt. He wasn't in good shape.

The cold was starting to get to Oboro. Gomamon slowly became more and more heavy. Eventually, the circumstances got the better of him and he tripped, sliding along the ice with Gomamon still on his back.
This jolted the Rookie into awareness again. He looked between Hyogamon and Oboro with a panicked expression. "Oboro!" he cried out.
The young boy slowly tried to clamber to his feet, but a cracking sound below him caused him to freeze. The ice beneath him was just a bit too thin, and it broke underneath him, causing him to sink into the freezing lake below. Why did it always have to be water?
"No!" Gomamon screamed. Without bothering to summon any of his Marching Fishes, the Rookie dove in to rescue his partner. Any longer than a few seconds would be enough for Oboro to die of hypothermia. As the two of them sank lower and lower into the water, Oboro's Digivice began to give off a faint light.

After the fight with Lugh, Tsukaimon had got taste for blood. Fighting digimon until they got absorbed was one thing but this human hunt was something entirely different and he liked it. The fight taught Tsukaimon a lot of things about humans, for starters they were smarter than he first gave them credit for, if he had to take down humans on a permanent basis he would have to step up his game.
Now this was interesting, a human child too naive for his own good and completely ignorant to how to adapt to the cold areas. Tsukaimon was watching hidden behind the blizzard and watched Oboro die from hypothermia this had to be the easiest human ever, he could just sit there and enjoy the show and before long the digimon would devolve to an even easier form to kill. Truly this was a great day to be alive when you are a Tsukaimon.

All looked to be lost as Oboro and Gomamon continued to sink to the depths of the frozen lake. However, a ray of hope manifested itself in Oboro's Digivice, which lit up with a brilliant light. "Gomamon Digivolve to...Ikkakumon!"A few quiet moments passed. The tension in the air was mounting to unbelieveable levels. Finally a torpedo shot out of the water and right at Hyogamon. The ogre wasn't prepared for a surprise attack like that, so he took the full force of the explosion. In another instant, Ikkakumon shot out of the water, but Oboro was nowhere to be seen. That was because Ikkakumon had hidden the unconscious boy underneath his thick layer of fur, keeping him safe and warm for the time being. "Come on!" the new Champion shouted. "I'll take you on all by myself!"

Desolate Tundra... what are they doing there? For all Gryz know, he's not supposed to be here... oh right, Tetsu wanted to broaden his horizon. It's a remarkable thing to do but at the same time he can't help but to wonder if they're not lost. Gryz suddenly felt thankful that he's a Bearmon with thick fur and lot of body fat. This made it easier to traverse the snowfield. Meanwhile, Tetsu is wearing thick clothes... both of them of course got some snacks and everything, but... no matter how he see it, two of them are lost aren't they?
"...Tetsu, are you OK?"
"Me? Ahm' fine. Gryz, wha' 'bout ya?"
"I'm fine, don't worry about the bear," he gently patted the boy's back, smiling.
They pushed forward and forward... until they saw silhouette of a human and Digimon. Tetsu's eyes widened when he looked like he's actually chased by a Hyogamon. What actually happened? He quickly ran to follow them with Gryz just wondered if he could take the Digimon. Afterall, he's the one who can fight here. No matter how strong is Tetsu, even though he have power of an adult human, he know that his little human friend can't fight Hyogamon at all.
While Gryz mulling his strategy, he heard a really loud crack and was really surprised to see that the boy sunk! Adrenaline circulated to his system. He quickly hastened his steps, not even caring about the Hyogamon, intending to save the boy although he know what's under there would most likely make him got hypothermia...
Gryz quickly ran forward all four to get in front of Tetsu, sending a glare to Hyogamon in case he dared to attack his partner--but only to be stopped midtrack due to the appearance of the Ikkakumon. Oh great, two against one? No, one against one against one? This is so bad. Gryz stopped Tetsu and readied his battle stance.
"Would beary apprawrciated if two of you just kindly leave the perimeters, We got a kid to save," Gryz warned.

Ikkakumon just stared blankly at the strange Bearmon and the boy with him. He looked to be the same age as Oboro. Perhaps he was another Tamer? They must have seen Oboro in danger and rushed here to help! "That's awful kind of you," Ikkakumon said, smiling. "I'd love to give this guy a piece of my mind, but I have to be careful now that young Oboro is on my back. Can you help me take this nasty ogre on?"
The Hyogamon roared and charged straight at Ikkakumon, who was not impressed. "Northern Light!" The new Champion opened his mouth wide and shot a beam of freezing energy right at Hyogamon, who was too busy charging in blindly to dodge. The attack was a direct hit, and it was just strong enough for the enemy to stagger a bit.
Oboro, meanwhile, was still unconscious. He would be safe as long as Hyogamon didn't take aim at Ikkakumon's back.

Huh, so this guy is the partner of the boy? Well then, that changes the situation greatly. For some stupid reason, the Hyogamon attacked head on. Duh, what with feral Digimons lately? He hates to fight, but at the same time he's not in mood to reason with this little shit.
"Rock Fall!"
Slapping his hands together on the ground, he suddenly materialized rock from nowhere to strike the Hyogamon on the head. At least this would do, Right? Meanwhile, Tetsu looking at the battle keenly. He's not sure what to do other than to support at the moment, but if he recalls it correctly, this would be Gryz's first battle. He's a pacifist... is this OK?

The Bearmon was fairly quick to follow up with a rock attack that pelted the beast. Hyogamon hadn't even gotten a chance to actually strike. Ikkakumon didn't want to give the fool an inch. "Harpoon Torpedo!" In an instant, a torpedo shot from Ikkakumon's horn and exploded directly on Hyogamon. The Ogremon variant, finally realizing what a predicament he was in, ran away.
Ikkakumon sighed as he reverted back into Gomamon and finally passed out. Oboro was revealed to be laying on top of his partner. He was dry, at least, but still unconscious. The cold wouldn't do him much good, either.

"...Poor Gomamon got squished," the Bearmon muttered. Tetsu, without even caring for what sort of event going on quickly stripped himself off his thick coat and give it to the other boy. Gryz's eyes widened from shock at what he's doing.
"Tetsu, what are you doing!?"
"Shush, 'tis na much..." Without even caring for his now minimalistic clothes of being just with tanktop and thick throusers, he even lifted the boy who's as tall as him easily. "Gryz, get the Gomamon 'ere," he ordered. "Imma gonna carry 'em all."
"But what about your clothes!?"
"I'm fine... Winta' in Hokkaido, far colder 'dan 'dis..." he grinned.
The sight of a boy carrying a kid as tall as he is and his seal partner easily on his back made Gryz wonder if Tetsu is Kintaro instead with his adultlike strength packed in that very little body. The bear checked for any more frozen water just in case, but there's seem none at the moment. They continued forward rather quickly. Despite his tough attitude, Gryz knew that his partner is feeling the chill. He searched and searched for any small cave and luckily soon found one.
"Stay here," the bear told his partner. "I'm going to look for some firewood. There are some spicy soup in one of the bottle. Drink that meanwhile."
"OK, careful!"
His figure soon leave the entrance of the cave.

Tsukaimon saw much to his disappointment that Oboro was in fact capable of making his partner turn champion. "Great, he's cheating too" Knowing better than fighting when outclass he kept watching from distance. He really wanted the Hyogamon to win this fight and before he knew it, another young boy had intervened with a bearmon. Now it seems like Hyogamon had no chance of winning and before long he ran away although Tsukaimon couldn't blame him.
After the fight Tsukaimon followed after Tetsu when he was carrying Oboro inside a cave, eventually the bearmon left and at that point there wasn't anyone left who could be a serious threat in Tsukaimon's mind. With a wicked grin, he sneaked inside the cave right after Bearmon was out of the picture.

When Gomamon came to, he was startled to find that they were in a cave with the boy that had showed up earlier. He quickly shook himself off and looked over at the young boy. Had he carried them there all by himself? What had happened to the Bearmon with him? He noticed that Oboro was wearing the young boy's coat.
"You look kinda cold," he said quietly. "Thank you for saving us, though. What's your name?" He wasn't really sure what to say to the kid. He was focused intently on this newcomer that he didn't really notice the Tsukaimon that was just entering the cave.

"Eh, nah, it's na important," Tetsu answered, chuckling. "It's a bit chilly, yeah..." he muttered. Still, the boy who sunk to the water is more important than he is for now. "I'm used to it," he admitted. "Hokkaido's winter is colder 'dan this." Then again, he's probably trying to look tough on the guy who he saved.
"Tetsu. Shishidou Tetsushi. Pals call me Tetsu," he answered. His teeth doesn't clatter, but one can see that his fingertips starting to get really red from the cold.
Meanwhile, Gryz understood that attack can come anytime. He don't believe that the Hyogamon won't return or won't stalk them after that fiasco. With a stance, he looked at a tree and...
"HMPH!"
Struck it with his palm. The dying tree fell to the ground. For now, he need to cut several pieces of the branches. He hope that because this is tundra, the tree would be dry enough...
"Tetsu, wait for me..."

It looked like it won't get easier for Tsukaimon than this, one champion out and another one severely weakened by a fight. The only one left who was a reasonable threat, in Tsukaimon's mind, was Tetsu and his digidevice. If only Tsukaimon could somehow get that out of the way then Gryz would be stuck in rookie form. But that was not going to be easy for now he had the element of surprise. If Tetsu wants heat, he is getting heat more than he can ever dream off.
Without calling his attacks, a trait Tsukamon had grown out of because it ruined surprise attacks. Tsukaimon launched a fireball right towards Tetsu's back. He aimed there for several reasons, back there it was harder to detect an attack in time to dodge, if Oboro was hit instead that would be exactly as great and now he had time to fly to a new location deeper inside the cave where there were no light, before anyone could tell what literally hit them.
Inside the dark part of the gave, Tsukaimon turned on his holosuit so even when found they (hopefully) won't suspect a human for shooting a fireball.
Battle summary.
Tsukaimon launches friendly fire in a surprise attack
Cooldown: Friendly Fire 0/1

"Tetsu..." Gomamon repeated. "That's a nice name! I'm Gomamon, and this is my partner, Oboro. We're just wandering around right now, but-" He was suddenly cut off as a fireball roared through the cave. Still slightly dazed after his last fight, but not terribly weakened, Gomamon slid across the ice and stood in between Tetsu and the incoming attack. "Bubble Barrier!" he shouted. A bubble of protection surrounded Gomamon and protected against the fireball before popping.
"Who's there?" Gomamon demanded loudly. "Show yourself!"
The noise was enough to wake Oboro up. Groggily, he looked around to gather his bearings. "Wh-what's going on?"

"Tha--"
Sudden flash of light. No matter how light it is outside, they're in a cave, and they're quite deep to prevent cold from really catching up with them. The fact that someone attacked him doesn't miss his mind. Tetsu whirled, about to do a lariat to the offending attack, but Gomamon helped him. He glared at the general direction of the cave and perhaps a bit foolishly, stands in front of Oboro in protective stance.
"...You there, what in manner of coward are you?" when Tetsu is angry like this, his dialect somehow vanished and what came out from his mouth is simply cold words. "Only the lowest of Digimon with no ounce of pride on themselves attacks human on his back when his partner is away."
