It was a lovely day in Shibuya. Marshal and Coronamon (disguised with his Holosuit) had decided to take a walk through the park. The two of them hadn't just relaxed in the real world for quite some time, and now even Coronamon was welcome to a little downtime.
"This is actually very nice," Coronamon said as the two of them laid underneath a tall tree. "Now I can understand the appeal of this kind of thing to you."
Marshal chuckled. "You're learning, young grasshopper. Soon we will be ready to progress to the next step of your training."
"Alright, don't push it," Coronamon snorted.

The weather was perfect. Warm, yet breezy as the scents flowers wafted through the air. Mitsuko had found a rather secluded spot in the park, it seemed to be lined with trees, blocking most people's view, but it had a nice little spot, just big enough for a few people to stand beneath the branches of the trees. Patamon took temporary residence among the branches, as the young silverette began digging through her bags.
Before too long she had her violin in hand, and a song within her heart. Slowly she slid the bow against the strings, and the first solemn notes of Mozart's Lacrimosa filled the air around her. Softly the wind stirred, billowing Mitsuko's hair around her like a silvery curtain. Away the wind carried the notes deftly towards the open sky. Mitsuko's eyes remained closed as the notes continued to fill the air, her body swaying slightly with the music. This is what she enjoyed. Music. Friends. Freedom. Everything seemed ... Perfect.

As Marshal napped, a haunting violin melody reverberated through the trees. Being the musician that he was, he immediately recognized it as Mozart's Lacrimosa. He immediately sat up and listened for a moment.
"This is usually sung," he chuckled, "but this is also good." He slowly stood up and tried to pinpoint the source of the music.
Coronamon opened one eye and watched Marshal begin to wander around. "I didn't know you were such a music buff," he said. As it turned out, the only person that Marshal had befriended since moving to Japan that knew even a little bit about his musical ability was Maia, and he preferred not to remember the details of that encounter.
Eventually, Marshal came upon a shaded spot where a silver-haired girl was playing a beautiful violin. He stood there for a moment, appreciating the sound. For some reason, this girl seemed extremely familiar, but he couldn't place it.

Mitsuko felt the music swell around her, as her body continued to flow with the music itself. Her eyes closed, she remembered the first time she had heard this song. It was the day after her mother's funeral, this song seemed to express everything Mitsuko had felt. She could hear the wind rustling in the trees, blowing around her slender frame. She had a strange feeling of being watched, as the final notes started to vibrate from her violin. Abruptly her eyes snapped open, seeing a dark figure within the trees.
Mitsuko gasped, and nearly dropped her violin. She recovered quickly before it had a chance to fall from her grasp. She took half a step back, prepared to run if necessary, when an odd sensation of familarity hinted within the back of her mind. She had seen this guy before. Where, she couldn't quite place off the top of her head. She didn't dare glance up towards Patamon, thus giving him away. He was oddly silent, so she knew he was staying out of sight reguardless of the situation. For once he seemed to listen. Thank god!
"You... Startled me." Mitsuko said softly, her bell like voice echoed off the trees. The silverette moved her hands behind her back. Her voice was oddly firm, but her hands shook a little. "Can I... help you?" Mitsuko took another half step back, unsure of the guy's motives. But if he thought he could try anything funny, he had another thing coming. She knew Patamon would somehow save her, if she was truly in danger.

Marshal cringed as the girl nearly dropped her violin. He stepped forward in an awkward attempt to try and save the instrument, but didn't get far enough. "Sorry about that!" he chuckled. "Your playing drew me here. I haven't heard anyone else play so beautifully in such a long time. The players in the school orchestra get the job done...but that's really something else!"
Marshal hadn't really played any music since he had first gotten involved with the Digital World. He was itching to get back into it. He wondered what condition his violin from home would be in.
"I'm Marshal North, by the way. You look familiar...I think we met in Whitewater one day? You're a Tamer, right?"

Mitsuko was startled for a moment. "It's... okay." The silverette turned around and put the instrument safely back into its case. "You didn't mean to." The young musician said with a small sigh. "Well, thank you. I appreciate it." Mitsuko said softly, as she turned back towards the young man. "I learned from... very talented people. I owe it all to them." she said, as she brushed a strand of silvery hair from her face.
"Whitewater! Thats it!" Mitsuko said, her face changing from guarded to happy. "I knew I recognized you somewhere!" Before Mitsuko could say anymore, Patamon came crashing down through the trees, to stand between Mitsuko and Marshal. "Stay back Suki-Chan! I've got this!" Before he could do anything rash, she quickly grabbed Patamon and held him closely to her chest, where he attempted to wiggle free.
"Patamon! He's a tamer too! Remember, Whitewater?" Mitsuko tried to calm her partner down. "I think he has a Coronamon Partner!" Patamon quit struggling, his eyes changed to slits, where he examined Marshal closely. "He does look familiar... but Suki-chan... I barely remember what I ate for breakfast, let alone where we went months ago, let alone who we met..." With a roll of his eyes, he relaxed into Mitsuko's arms.
Mitsuko hung her head in slight defeat. "Seriously?!" She gasped exasperatedly. "Er... Sorry. I'm Mitsuko. Mitsuko Kaioh, and this little furball is my partner Patamon." Patamon huffed at the furball comment, but looked at Marshal "Nice to meetcha! Hey, where's your partner? Can we play?" Patamon asked with a slight whine. Mitsuko just raised her eyebrow at Marshal in a 'What can you do' sort of manner.

Marshal smiled at the Patamon that came crashing in through the trees. It seemed like he wanted to play! Right on cue, Coronamon showed up.
"Marshal, are you alright?" he asked, still his Holosuit. He looked up at the scene before him and noticed the Patamon floating in between the two Tamers. He was a bit quicker to recognize the pair, as his memory was slightly better than Marshal's "Ah, Mitsuko and Patamon! It's been quite some time!" He pressed the button on the ring that controlled his Holosuit and morphed back into his Rookie form.
Marshal turned back to Mitsuko. "You know," he said, smiling, "I'm a bit of a musician, myself. I'm a little rusty, though. This whole Tamer thing has really cut down my practice time. We should put a duet together sometime!" He chuckled. It was nice to see someone else that was as interested as him in music.
Coronamon was surprised. "I've never heard you play music before!"
Marshal sweatdropped. "That's because we're always going on adventures and never have time to just relax like this. Plus...I don't really play in front of anyone."

"I have GOT to get me one of those!" Patamon reiterated with Mitsuko for like the hundredth time. The silverette rolled her eyes, and shook her head in defeat. "Long time no see Coronamon, how have you been?" Mitsuko asked softly. Patamon rolled his eyes again. "Obviously he is doing well. I mean, hello. Here in the Human World. Sheesh." for Patamon's flippant tone, it earned him a noogie from his partner. "You need to learn manners." Mitsuko scolded lightly, as her noogie turned into scratches behind the ear.
"You're a musician too?!" Mitsuko exclaimed "What instruments do you play? What is your favorite genre?!" Mitsuko was about to ask a third question, when Patamon had other ideas. "Let us let the humans have their music time." Patamon said, leaping out of Mitsuko's arms. "I've got a better idea..." Patamon swooped towards Coronamon, bopping him playfully on the nose "TAG!!! You're it!" Patamon flew into the trees, his laugh echoing around them.
"Well, it looks like Patamon will be busy for a while." Mitsuko said softly, with a chuckle. "If you're free, perhaps we could let the boys play for a while, and we could take a music break! If you want to that is." Mitsuko added softly, with a small blush creeping upon her face.

"I've been well, thanks," Coronamon said awkwardly. Before he knew it, Patamon had challenged him to a game of tag. "How is this fair?" he laughed. "I can't even fly in my Rookie form!" He ran into the trees after Patamon.
"Well, I'm actually a violin player, but I also play piano and sing a bit," Marshal explained. "I could go back to my place and get my violin if you wanted to wait a few minutes!"

Patamon's laughter echoed off the trees "Hey, not my problem you're grounded! Haha get it... Ground-ed!" Mitsuko just shook her head in defeat. "I swear the Digital World gave me him as a partner to test my patience..." She said with a smile on her face. "Hey Coronamon, try using your abilities! Chances are you can use them to catch Patamon!" Mitsuko called out. That only earned her a retort from her partner. "HEY! Whos side are you on?!"
Mitsuko rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to Marshal "If you want to grab yours, I can keep the little ones occupied for a bit." Her comment, however, was oddly followed by a crash, thud and an audible"Ow!... I'm okay!" Patamon learned flying and talking wasn't exactly a good combo. Mitsuko shook her head again "On second thought, perhaps we could share my violin, if you want!"

Coronamon wasn't sure his abilities would help in this situation unless he felt like burning down half the park in an effort to catch Patamon. Shaking his head, he began attempting to climb a tree. Of course, since he had never done it before, it was quite the comical struggle.
Marshal looked at Mitsuko's violin case with a sense of wonder. "Wow, you really mean it?" he asked. "It wouldn't take me very long to go get mine, but if you're okay with that, I'd love to play a little tune. It's been a while, I've honestly missed it!"

Mitsuko nodded her head, as she handed Marshal her violin. "I insist. Besides, if you want to play a duet later, we can always go and get it, right?" Mitsuko smiled, as she felt the wind blow through her hair. "I know what you mean, if I don't get to play something at least once a day, It's like... a part of myself is missing." Mitsuko lowered herself onto an old fallen tree, turning it into a makeshift bench. "I can't wait to see what you'll play."
Patamon had finally had enough flying, it was getting too crowded around the branches. He could hear Coronamon closing in on him. He scampered through the foliage of the trees, he could find a good hiding place. Yes. That would work. Find a hiding place and... Oh! Patamon's train of though was interrupted because he was paying more attention to his thoughts, rather than his surroundings. By the time he got ready to fly, it was already too late, he crashed into a bush with a mighty thud, and an "Ow!.... I'm okay!.... Again!" Patamon poked his head out of the bush. Yes... this would work perfectly. He returned to the safety of the bush, and noticed fresh berries. Well, when life gives you berries... eat them! And that is exactly what Patamon started to do.

Marshal gingerly accepted Mitsuko's violin, knowing how careful one had to be when handling such a delicate instrument. "Well, thank you," he smiled pleasantly. He rested the violin upon his shoulder and thought for a moment about what to play. After a few seconds of contemplation he seemed to recall a piece he had been working on before the whole Digimon fiasco began. He brought the bow to the strings and began playing Wieniawski's Polonaise de concert. It was a bit shaky at first as Marshal tried to find his ground, but soon the lovely melody began to reverberate through the trees. Coronamon heard the music start to play and instantly stopped climbing the tree to go over and listen. He had never heard Marshal even mention being a musician before, so this was a bit of a shock to him. He seemed to be quite good, too! "Wow," the little lion breathed. As Marshal played along with what he remembered, he took special notice that Mitsuko's instrument was very well-made. It seemed to be one-of-a-kind, just like his.

Mitsuko knew she was good at playing the violin, as she was taught by her mother and other talented people... But she never claimed that she was anything excellent. She just played an instrument that she loved. Doing what she enjoyed. It was clear to her that Marshal was cut from the same cloth so to speak. She watched in awe as he wove a spell-like web that ensnared her entire being. He was good. Really good. That piece was difficult for even the most accomplished musicians! Yet he seemed to play it flawlessly!
Patamon could hear the music through the berry bush, as he poked his head out. "Thats amazing!" he whispered, as he flew towards the sound "I know Suki-chan is amazing, but this isn't her style!" He said as he flew towards Marshal and Mitsuko. He saw Coronamon and perched himself beside the lion, and nodded along with the music. Who knew they would run into a musician like this! There was something that he was supposed to remember about Coronamon... but what was it? Ah well, the music was more interesting anyway.

Marshal's playing was a little rusty. He was making a few mistakes here and there, and his tone was a bit scratchy, but nonetheless it made him happy to be playing again. Once the piece was over, he stood deep in thought for a moment before bringing the bow to the strings again. This time, the piece was much more somber and filled with pain. It was unmistakably Bach's Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D Minor.Coronamon listened again, but sensed Marshal's emotions as he played. There was a feeling deep in Marshal's head that Coronamon hadn't sensed in a long time. It was the same feeling that he got from Marshal right before they had separated for a while. It was like Marshal was using his experiences in the Digital World to connect with the piece. Coronamon stared on, mystified. As the piece continued, Marshal's tone became more clear and the mistakes became much less noticable. He was on a mission to let his emotions out through this piece and nothing would stop him, not even his own inability as a player. For a moment, he forgot that everyone else was there listening to him. He actually started to get a bit choked up as he got to a particularly intense portion of the piece.
