Skye scoffed at the Gizamon. She was enjoying the dents she was giving to his ego as well as his body. "Oh please. You couldn't harm a kitten with that junk on you" she said. She chuckled at Willis's snark. "Hmm, you'd like that wouldn't you, Gizamon? Gonna smooch some feathery butt?"
He then curled into a ball. "Or kiss your own butt, that's an option too I guess" she drawled.
She then braced herself for the next Spiral Edge attack. Dodging was easy at first, but he kept on coming! By the time it was over, there were several lacerations on Skye's body, the wounds stinging. She decided to retreat for the moment, even though she knew he was wide open for another Saint Knuckle, she had other things to care about.
"Willis, over here!" she called to her dueling partner. She then focused inward, her claws glowing blue, then she waved her paws outward. "Life Prism!" she called, and a pulse of aurora-like energy shone from her.
At once, the wounds on her and Willis's body glowed white, then closed, the healing technique mending their damaged data partially. Skye then smirked at Gizamon.
"Getting tired, boys?" she asked, cooly. Hopefully with this display of her power she would show that she and Willis would have much better endurance in this fight. "I suggest you give up now. And never harm an egg again" she added, coldly.
Life Prism - Skye presses her paws together, which glow with an aurora-like blue-green light, then sends a pulse of healing energy around her. This energy can be focused to heal one ally or herself moderately, or multiple allies for slight health restoration. [Cooldown: 2 posts].

The double battle was taking its toll on the four Rookies. Both sides were wearing each other down. Willis and Skye joked about the unruly duo kissing each other's butts. Gizamon then proceeded to curl up into a ball, thus kissing his own butt! Interesting attack. Gizamon's Spiral Edge had cut and slashed into the holy kitty with his razors. However, Skye gained the advantage by healing herself and Willis with her Life Prism. Willis quickly flies over to receive the healing. The difference in remaining health had become one sided. Gizamon slows down and stops spinning, very dizzy from spinning around. Falcomon flies down to Gizamon and offers his wing to help Gizamon keep balance. Even if they acted like jerks to most Digimon, the duo at least cared for the other.
Skye suggests Gizamon and Falcomon concede the battle. What would it accomplish to keep fighting in this state? "Surrender to you two? In your dreams!" Gizamon takes a few deep breaths, his head still spinning. "I don't know, Falcomon. We've dished out the pain, but now they are almost back to full power. Maybe we should... back down." "Are you serious?! You want to lose to these two?" Willis approaches the duo, ready to counterattack if they keep fighting. "It's better if you give up now, and leave us alone. That's what you get for trying to steal Digi eggs, and being bullies." Falcomon stares down Willis, not moving a muscle. The villagers watching from the sidelines wait to see what Falcomon decides to do.
Finally, chrome dome swallows his pride. "Alright, we give up. You win, gah..." Willis jumps up and down, flapping his ear-wings. "Yes! Victory is ours!" Willis was acting like a sore winner, but he didn't care. These jerks had tried to take his brother. Their feelings could be hurt for all he cared. Willis goes up to Skye and nods. "We did it! Thank you for fighting with me." Falcomon rubs Gizamon's head with his wing. "Look at that bruise. Guess that cat got you good." Ogremon steps forward carrying Domon's egg, and address Falco and Giza. "That should teach you two a lesson. If you wanna come back to the tavern, you better check your attitude at the door." Falcomon and Gizamon sulk back to their group, their credibility as tough guys tarnished.
Willis goes over to Ogremon, and the bartender hands him the egg. "Thanks for watching over my brother. If only you could have seen us fight, Domon." The yellow and black stripped egg starts to glow white. "Wait a minute, it's hatching!" The egg is converted to data, revealing a small yellow ball of slime. "Domon! You're back." A red eye opens up on the slime ball, then another. A mouth appears below the eyes, and starts blowing out tiny bubbles. "Gurgle, gurgle gur." "Well, I guess it will still be a while until you are back to your Rookie self." With Gizamon and Falcomon defeated, and Domon safe, what was next for Skye and Willis? Their victory in doubles combat had drawn much attention from villagers in the isolated city.

Skye was somewhat glad that the battle was over. She panted slightly from the efforts. While her healing did mend their wounds, it was still a rather exhausting thing to do. She'd need to rest before being able to be at full strength again.
She said nothing to the enemy digimon as they gave up. She was glad for this, hoping that they had learned their lessons and knew not to pick fights they might not be able to win. Especially after provoking a digimon by threatening the life of someone they cared about.
Skye smiled down at Willis. "It's fine. Hopefully they won't bother you again" she said. She watched with interest as Willis's brother's egg began to hatch! And out of it emerged a small yellow slime digimon. She smiled at it, Skye always liked baby digimon. "Hi there little guy" she said.
Well then, with that settled, Skye then turned to Ogremon. "Say, mister... I'm hoping to be able to get enough money to catch a Trailmon back home. Would you have any work I could do to raise enough funds?" she asked, hoping that would be an option.
Perhaps Willis and Domon would like to accompany her? "So, Willis, after this, I'm hoping to return back to the Eastern Timberlands, would you like to go with me?" After all, Willis fought well, and Skye could do with not being alone. Of course once they got there they could go their separate ways if they wanted to, but, the Dark Area certainly wasn't the ideal environment to raise a baby digimon at. Perhaps Willis and Domon could lay low at the Village of Beginnings until Domon evolved to Rookie again?

The little Zurumon smiles up at Skye, happily bouncing around and blowing bubbles. Hopefully with enough food and a place to stay, Domon would be back to normal in no time. Skye asks the Ogremon if he has any work for them. "I can't help you there, but other Digimon in the village may be able to help you. What I can do is give you some coin for dealing with those two pests. Enough to cover a meal and a free room for the night." This worked out well for Willis, as he already owed Ogremon from earlier. Ogremon hands Skye some coins, about what she had already paid for the meal.
Skye tells Willis that she is on her way to the Eastern Timberlands, and offers Willis a chance to tag along. "Well, the Village of Beginnings does sound a lot safer than the Dark Area. I can't look after Domon all by myself. Why don't we stay at the tavern for the night, then find some work so we can buy tickets outta here?" It was getting late. If Willis and Domon were going to travel with Skye, they would need some coin. Fortunately, their recent battle had drawn a lot of attention. A Digimon wearing a long dark cloak and a floppy hat approaches Willis and Skye. "That was an impressive fight. Do you two battle often?"
The Digimon tips his hat back and adjusts his cloak to reveal himself as a Gabumon Black. "Battling? Like together? Actually this was the first time we fought together." "Interesting. You two did quite well. My name is Gabumon Black. You wouldn't be looking for work, by any chance?" Here was their opportunity. "Yes, I could sure use some money. We were thinking of getting some tickets for the Trailmon." "Well we might be able to help each other out. I have a small shack down the road where we can talk business." "This feels shady. We're not talking anything illegal, are we?" "Oh no. Illegal? No. Dangerous? Yes." Ogremon reassures Willis. "Don't worry, Gabumon Black is on the level. I know him, he's a good mon. I'd better get back to the bar. Let me know if you still want a room." Ogremon heads back inside, much to the delight of thirsty patrons. Willis considers Gabumon's offer. "I don't know, this might be a good opportunity. What do you think, Skye?"

"Ah, thanks very much" Skye said, glad to accept the money from Ogremon to cover food and board for a night. Well, she might be stuck in the Dark Area for the moment, but at least she would have temporary shelter. And, it seemed, a couple of travelling companions. Huh. Probably the last thing she expected when going through the dark area.
"Sounds like a plan" Skye agreed with Willis. She was about to re-enter the inn when they were approached by a BlackGabumon. He remarked that they were impressive, and asked if they battled often.
"Well, only if I have to" Skye admitted. She didn't exactly want to earn coin by fighting, that's for sure. She would much rather provide a healing service. She got more and more of a bad feeling as he was offering "dangerous" work. "Dangerous in what way?" she asked, but he insisted in talking details in a shack down the road.
Willis then asked Skye what she thought. She sighed, supposing that she did need the coins. Maybe it wasn't as dangerous as she was afraid of. "Fine, we'll hear him out. But if I don't like it, I'm leaving, and I suggest you do the same" she said. "Your brother just hatched, now isn't the time for dangerous work".

It seems Gabumon Black had provided them with a means to an end. Even if it was dangerous, they could earn enough coin to pay for their tickets, and then some. Skye was alright with going along, but if it was too shady, they should decline. She warns Willis that a dangerous job wasn't the best of things with Domon still in his young stage. "You're right, I don't want to put Domon in danger. It's strange, he's always been my big brother, but now I'm the one looking after him." That realization had not fully settled in for the Tsukaimon until now. It was his time to be the big brother. Willis turns to Gabumon Black. "We can go check it out."
Gabumon Black escorts the trio of outsiders down the path. Domon rides on Willis' back, though it is tough to keep him from sliding off. They reach a small shack made out of wood and large rocks. "I know it isn't much, but it gets the job done. I've been roughing it out here in this village for a while now." Gabumon goes into the shack and brings out a worn suitcase. He opens it up and takes out a huge stack of papers. "A few months ago, I noticed something strange happening around the Digital World. There is this underground group that somehow goes around undetected. Their actions are almost completely off the radar. If my research is correct, they could be responsible for several of the disasters that have transpired as of late."
Willis looks over at Skye, as a bead of sweat drops down his head. "Well, it's been nice talking to you, Gabumon, but uh, we're gonna sit this one out. Good luck with that." "Hmm? Oh no, you don't have to worry! I wasn't going to ask you to get involved with that. This is more of a side job. You'll do fine." "Huh, alright, I'm listening..." "What I need you to do is intercept a package. I believe that this network is communicating with each other through special deliveries." This Gabumon Black was starting to come off as some kind of conspiracy theorist. "So all you want us to do is pick up a package, eh? We might be able to work something out. But, you said it was dangerous before."
Gabumon Black gives Willis a serious look. "I've already told you too much. If you were secretly working for this underground network, I could be jeopardizing everything. I need to know if you are on board or not." Willis didn't want to get involved in something like this, but he really wanted some money. After free dinner and a room for the night, he would be flat broke again. Willis looks down at Zurumon. "What do you think, brother? Should we take up his offer?" Domon smiles and hops side to side in excitement. If Domon had been in his Rookie stage, he would have most definitely taken the offer. "Alright, I don't know about you, Skye, but I think we got this. I'm on board, Gabumon." "Excellent! I'm sure everything will go smoothly. How about you Skye?" "Don't feel like you have to. We could always find something else." "Hesitant already? I can pay you well."

Skye smiled with approval at Willis's concern for his baby level brother. She knew she had done the right thing by helping him out against those thugs.
And so she followed BlackGabumon to his small shack. "It's fine" she said as he remarked how it wasn't much. Of course a snootier digimon from Luminas would be rather snobbish, but Skye was not that type. Indeed she had been "roughing it up" on the streets of Luminas many times in her youth.
She folded her arms and paid attention to what BlackGabumon had to say, her long tail flicking a little. She looked at the map. Indeed, it looked quite genuine, far too much effort for someone that wished to somehow swindle her. But that raised all sorts of terrible possibilities in Skye's mind.
"What kind of disasters are you talking about?" she asked, wanting to hear proof. Already her internal "suss-o-meter" as she called it was rising. Indeed it was so much that Willis seemed to want to quit right there. But BlackGabumon quickly explained that he wasn't asking them to get involved. 'A likely story' she thought, not trusting him enough for that just yet.
Then BlackGabumon explained what the job involved. Skye put a paw to her mouth as she pondered the consequences of this. "So in short, you want us to steal intelligence from a hitherto unknown underground group" she summarized. "You're going to have to do better than that for us to agree to such a thing".
The consequences were countless. What if they were caught by this supposedly powerful underground group? Their lives would be forfeit for one. But what if this BlackGabumon worked for another sinister power and was lying to them? No, Skye would need to have certain assurances for her to agree to this.
BlackGabumon admitted that he had probably told them too much. "You sure have" Skye quipped in response. She folded her arms again. "If it was so simple, why don't you do this yourself?" she asked. Obviously there was some risk involved, hence why was BlackGabumon so willing to pay others to do this? If the answer was unsatisfactory, Skye would bail on this. She would simply offer her healing services for a day in exchange for money, and would hopefully have enough for tickets back in the end.

Gabumon Black's offer was more than shady enough to warrant concern. He wasn't asking Skye and Willis to get too involved, but stealing information under false pretenses was more than enough to get on the radar. Skye asks about the disasters Gabumon speaks of. Like most conspiracy theorists, Gabumon Black was quick to dispense information he felt would help his case, without providing much proof to back it up. The lone Digimon searches through his stacks of papers, pulling out different articles about some of the craziest things going on in the Digital World as of late.
"Let's see, the earliest incident I can trace back to the underground, ah yes, have either of you heard of the desert city of Nubar?" Willis thinks for a while. "Hmm, nope. Can't say I've been there before." "Oh it's beautiful. At least, it was once... Nubar gained its great riches as a major trade hub. However, bandits began to organize and attack their trade routes. I also have reports here of the farms supplying Nubar with food being torched. Almost as if someone was deliberately trying to sabotage the city. And here are reports about the destruction that took place in the Server Woods. Yes, my sources mention a SkullGreymon went on a rampage before being brought down by a LadyDevimon. Hmm, it looks like SkullGreymon also had a Tsukaimon accompanying him. Hmm?"
Gabumon Black looks down at a picture of Tsukaimon, then up at Willis. His head moves up and down a few times as he compares the two, before ultimately deciding that it must be a coincidence. "Oh sorry, I thought you might have had something to do with that. How crazy would that be? No offense, but you don't sound like the evil maniac type." Willis wipes the sweat of his forehead. "Ya, uh, I heard something about what happened in the Server Woods. Very tragic." Domon lets out a sad sigh. "Gurgle, gurrr..." If anyone in Fragment Village were aware that Willis and Domon were responsible for the destruction that took place, they would have to get out of dodge faster than a Human freaking out when they see a wasp casually hanging out on their shoulder. No reason for that specific analogy...
Skye didn't seem fond of such a big commitment. Getting wrapped up in this could have serious consequences. If they really needed money that bad, they could find other work, maybe make use of Skye's healing. Gabumon Black would have to change his tune if he is going to coax them into helping. Skye asks why Gabumon does not complete this task himself. "I would procure the package myself, but I fear they may already be on to me. If I show up attempting to pick up the package, that might raise suspicion. By the time they realize who you are, you'll be long gone and likely out of harm's way." "Likely?" "Alright, alright. I'll see what I can come up with. Maybe I can get you some other work in town. There's other things I need to get done. It's just been me working alone trying to track the underground's movements. Why don't you sleep on it, and come back in the morning? I'll have more information by then."
Gabumon Black bows to Skye and Willis out of respect. He starts gathering up his papers and stacks them back in his briefcase. "Very well. We'll be back tomorrow. Good luck with, uh, all that." Domon bounces side to side, blowing bubbles towards Gabumon. "Oh, I think my brother likes you." Gabumon smiles, and nods his head. "Have a good night's rest." The brothers start heading back to the inn with Skye. Willis pauses to stretch, and lets out a big yawn. "Oh, what a day. Wandering around the Dark Area, getting into a battle, but at least we met you, Skye! Let's wait til tomorrow to worry about everything, and just enjoy the rest of the night."

So there were papers involved too? Skye at least thought that might help the case that he wasn't lying a little, or at the least, didn't think he was lying.
"I haven't heard of Nubar" she said, although she had never heard of anything outside of Luminas other than Terminus City. And perhaps El Doradimon too, but that was just a legend to her.
Skye glanced at Willis when BlackGabumon mentioned the Tsukaimon involved. At first she wouldn't believe that he would be involved in this, but yet, she had only met him today, she knew nothing about him other than his brother had been involved in some kind of calamity. But she trusted him enough to not yield to suspicion.
She found BlackGabumon's answer satisfactory. Indeed, Willis was small and could fly, and Skye was clearly a stranger - she doubted there were many Gatomons here in the Dark Area.
She may have been lucky today, but, the longer she remained in the Dark Area, the more risk she would be in. She had to get out of here as quickly as possible, and this seemed to be the quickest way.
"Ordinarily I'd refuse, but, we do need money..." she said. At least she was glad that they didn't have to accept there and then. Asking her to do so immediately would have raised suspicion.
"Very well. We will return tomorrow, and then if we decide to turn down your offer, I promise you we will never speak of what you have told us". She wouldn't think of any situation in which she would do so, at least willingly. "And if we accept, it will simply be a job, we will take no sides in this conflict. Good night, BlackGabumon".
With that, she turned and left after Willis and Domon, following them back to Ogremon's tavern. Skye smiled at Willis's words. "Yeah, it sure has been an... interesting sequence of events today, but, I'm glad I seem to have met friendly digimon here" she said.
At the inn, she would check in to a room and then make preparations for bed, mulling over what there would be to do tomorrow. If she could find other means of getting work, she would take it. But for now, eh, it was just time to rest.

Willis is worried what will happen if he and his brother are discovered. Word has spread quickly from the Server Woods, but would it have reached the Fragment Village? BlackGabumon seemed to know something about it, but he was very aware of what's going on in the Digital World. He could have heard that on his travels. The rest of the village was too isolated and untrustworthy of outsiders. Their xenophobia had its advantages and disadvantages. It made sense that Gabumon didn't feel comfortable acquiring the delivery on his own. Having defeated the ruffians, Skye and Willis were more welcomed around the village now, and could at least move about without being given anymore trouble, hopefully.
Whether or not they ultimately decide to accept the BlackGabumon's offer, they were still alone in the Digital World. Aside from a place to stay for the night, the trio did not have much. Not even much clothes on their back. Skye assures Gabumon that if they decline, they won't tell other Digimon about his crazy conspiracies or schemes. He seemed to be a decent mon. What would cause a handsome little Digimon like BlackGabumon to live in this village with those deemed outcasts and undesirables?
The trio heads back to the tavern to check in for the night. "Yes, an interesting day for sure. I'm just glad to have my brother back. It was horrid, trekking across the wastelands with Domon's egg. But now I've actually had a meal and we have a place to stay for the night. I'm really glad we met, Skye. Maybe it makes the journey all worth it." They return to speak with Ogremon, who is getting done wiping the tables. "Ah good, you're back. Does Gabumon Black have some work for you?" "He's got something going on. I'm not really sure if it's the right fit for us." "Try not to stress out about it. There's no sense worrying and getting all worked up. Now, would you three be wanting two rooms, or are you okay sharing a room?"
Willis had not considered sharing a room with Skye. Even though they just met this evening, Willis felt comfortable around Skye. But sharing a room with a female feline? He didn't want to intrude. "I'm alright with either or. If you would rather have privacy for the night that's fine." "There's two beds in each of these rooms. We don't get many travelers coming through, so there are always vacant rooms. Some more coin coming through those doors wouldn't be so bad." Willis feels bad for Ogremon. Here he was, working all night just to barely get by. "I hope one day, things change, and you get all kinds of riches, Ogremon! You've been so kind to us." "I appreciate that. Have a good night's rest, you two." Domon starts blowing out bubbles, looking angry. "Oh, I'm just messing around. Domon, was it? Haha. See you three for breakfast."
Whether they decide to share a room or not, the three of them get ready for bed. Willis helps Domon onto the bed. "There we go. It sure is different being the bigger brother." Willis thinks about BlackGabumon's offer. Getting involved in something like this could prove to be dangerous. He was only a Rookie. Was this the right thing to do? What if next time, Domon does not come back? "No matter what, we will be there for each other." Willis tries to push it out of his mind and starts falling asleep. When they awake in the morning, it will be time for a big breakfast before returning to BlackGabumon.

Indeed, Skye had considered that BlackGabumon may be trying to enlist them because of their momentary boost in prestige for teaching Gizamon and Falcomon a lesson. But she did not desire to engage herself more closely into matters in the dark area. She simply wanted to leave, back to more certain territory. At least, that was her base instinct. So far, in this village in the Dark Area, Skye had been treated nicely more often than not. Maybe, just maybe she could probably risk lowering her guard to become more amicable with those that were extending it?
Skye knew the reputation of Luminas digimon in the lower world was pretty low. Indeed, she had encountered an Impmon in Terminus City that had had such a bad experience in Luminas to the point of being forced to wear a leash because Nightmare Soldier digimon couldn't be trusted. Yes, Skye had given as good as he gave when he implied she walked with a crucifix up her ass, but, the sheer hostility... it made Skye realize that there was a lot to be desired in the diplomacy of her original home.
As they returned to the inn, Skye honestly didn't mind sharing a room with these digimon. She decided she was rather fond of Willis and, while she didn't completely trust him yet as she didn't know his full story, she didn't feel uncomfortable about sleeping in his presence. "We'll have the one room thanks" she said, thinking that might help with things as well. Taking up two of Ogremon's rooms might limit his goodwill toward them.
Indeed, Skye was used to nights like this. Yes a good little Luminas digimon would be careful of who she sleeps with, but, Skye had spent many nights in the Empyrian Skies sleeping without shelter. And so she learned that the best way to sleep was on top of her belongings. Yes, it wasn't particularly comfortable, but, better to sleep with discomfort and have what she had in the evening than sleep with comfort and awake with nothing.
And so Skye entered the same room as Willis and Domon, letting them be for the moment as they got ready for bed. Skye put her belongings in a position where they couldn't be taken without waking her, at least she so hoped. Not that she didn't trust Willis, but, she didn't entirely know the security of Ogremon's tavern. Best make sure not to keep her only remaining assets dangling in front of the entrance, that was for sure.
Skye bade goodnight to Willis and Domon before falling asleep eventually. She dreamed many disturbing dreams, often waking with a fright, but, was glad that nothing bad seemed to be happening. It was simply the setting. This was her second night away from Luminas, and it was quite a leap to be now sleeping in the dark area. However, she pondered the possibilities of Gabumon's mission, and eventually thought, maybe, something good might come of this.
Of course a big breakfast awaited when they woke up, and Skye couldn't wait to try it out.

To Willis' surprise, Skye didn't have a problem sharing a room with the brothers. He just didn't want to be intrusive. It sounds like both of them were used to sleeping in less than stellar conditions, so soft comfy beds nice and warm inside was a huge step up. Willis stares up at the ceiling, letting out a quiet sigh of relief. He thinks back to his journey here, rolling Domon's egg across the Dark Area. He notices Skye placing her belongings in a small trunk, probably for the best being in such a shady town. Fortunately, Ogremon ran a tight ship, and wasn't one of those "We are not responsible for stolen items" goons often in the Human World. Just pass the buck, never taking accountability. No sir, if Ogremon found out someone was stealing from his guests in HIS tavern, it would be spiked club time.
Willis wakes up in the morning, quite a bit later than usual. There was only one window for the sunlight to shine in, and it was dark and gloomy outside. He turns to his brother and taps him on the head, speaking quietly to not wake Skye up if she is still sleeping. "Hey brother... you ready for breakfast?" One of Domon's eyes opens up slightly, then he flashes a big grin. Domon is ready for a nice meal. Willis and Domon head downstairs with Skye and find an open table. Skye probably woke up before them, seeing as how she comes from Luminas. Typically those who consider themselves holy tend to wake up earlier, sometimes to attend early morning religious gatherings. Well, early by Willis' standards.
Ogremon comes over to their table, and hands out some menus. "Good morning, gang. Hope you slept well. We've got lots of great food for breakfast. Muffins, eggs, bacon, it's all good. And Gabumon Black stopped by to pay for your breakfast, whether you accept his offer or not." "Cool! Thanks, Ogremon. Hey, what would you do?" "You mean Gabumon's offer? Hmm, let's see. I say take the deal. He's not going to ask you to do something unless he feels you are capable. As unorthodox as he can be, he's very cautious." "Ah, thank you." After taking a look at the menu, Willis orders a smorgasbord of delicious food. Toast, bacon, sausage, anything that goes well with a big breakfast.
Domon happily scarfs down an entire plateful of scrambled eggs. He tries to control himself, but can't help letting out a stinky burp. "Hey, slow down there, brother. I guess you were hungry." The Zurumon's body starts to glow. Domon digivolves to his In Training form, Pagumon. He looks like any typical Pagumon, except he has a small red marking on the side in the shape of a heart. "Ahh, I can see why Digimon like eating eggs. That was good." "Domon! You can talk again!" Willis gives his brother a big hug. "Hey, hey hey! Easy now!" Willis is so delighted Domon has digivolved enough to speak once again. "I'm so glad you digivolved. It's been exhausting looking after you. Without Skye, you could have been the one on that plate." "Well, I guess you two did good."
Domon picks up a sausage with his ear and takes a bite. "Nom nom nom, a good night's sleep, and an amazing breakfast, all paid for! Things are finally turning around." Domon looks over at Skye. "But best of all, we have the lovely Skye to keep us company. So, you like hanging out with Virus types?" Willis starts to get jealous of his brother schmoozing up to Skye. "Uh, why don't we talk about whether or not to accept Gabumon's offer?" "Oh, that's easy. Take the deal. It's all about the money!" Willis might be greedy, but that was nothing compared to Domon. He is always looking to make some easy money, even if the job isn't always legal. "I say once we finish up here, we take the offer, intercept the package, and then we can eat like this every day. Until that money runs out. Hmm. After this, we're going to need to look for work. I'm ready to get back into the game." Domon flashes a sinister grin.

That Skye had got through the night without anything bad happening simply acted as further proof that she could trust Willis and his brother. Of course that didn't rule out stuff happening in future if there was any long term shenanigans planned, well, she was less inclined to think of that sort of thing.
Ever the shallow sleeper, as one had to be if they were used to sleeping rough on the streets of Luminas, Skye woke when she heard Willis talking, but didn't make an indication she had woke. From Luminas she might be, she didn't rise early to do some pointless ritual of piety. Until Breakfast was mentioned.
"Sure, I'm up for breakfast" she said, and lithely jumped from her bed, stretching and yawning the remnants of sleep from her. She accompanied Willis and Domon downstairs and sat at their table, eagerly awaiting a meal.
Skye was then surprised that the BlackGabumon had paid for their breakfast. Why had he done that without them knowing? Skye was a little disturbed by this, but, the fact had remained, he had done them a solid favour without them agreeing for anything in return. And that played a conflict in Skye's mind somewhat.
'Oh you clever little sod' she thought. It would be simply monstrous of her to deny doing his request now - that he had done her a very generous favour. But still, her statement stood firm. She would only do this if she could stay out of whatever conflict would arise from this intervention.
Skye's thoughts were interrupted by Domon suddenly evolving to Pagumon. The Gatomon smiled at this. "Hey, well done" she said, glad of this happening within 24 hours of him hatching. "At this rate you'll be back to your Rookie self in no time".
Domon then asked Skye if she minded hanging out with Virus types. The Gatomon made a "heh" noise at the back of her throat and turned to him. "Don't worry, I never really liked this Luminas thing of prejudging digimon by their attribute. In my life, I've seen Vaccine attributes be absolute selfish monsters, and I've seen Virus attributes be generous and benevolent. And you two seem cool from what I've seen of you, so, of course I'm happy to hang out with you".
Then talk turned to BlackGabumon's offer. Domon seemed to be inclined to take it right away. If Skye was a typical Luminas mon she might have taken offense to this, but, she was more of a pragmatic digimon.
"From what I see, we can do something that BlackGabumon can't. And in return, BlackGabumon can give us something that we need" she said. "He's already shown us goodwill by giving us time to think it over, plus he has made good of his goodwill by paying for our breakfast, so, I'm all right with us doing this job... but with the condition that we only do this. I don't want to be caught up with whatever conspiracy he's involved in".

With Domon now at his In-training form, the gang had all the more reason to celebrate. The trio finishes their complementary breakfast, curtesy of the somewhat nutty Gabumon Black. Skye mentions that it looks like Domon will be back to his Rookie self in no time.
"I sure hope so. For now, I could really use someone to carry me around. I can't hop that fast." "Well, I've been rolling you around for a while now, big brother, so I got you covered until you are back to your hairy, greedy self." "I'm not greedy, just opportunistic. Hee hee."
Skye says that unlike her kin, she doesn't share their prejudice towards Virus types.
"That's good to hear. Not all Virus types are bad." "Some of us are just fending for ourselves. Though there are plenty of bad Digimon out there. Lots of evil Virus Digimon."
Ogremon clears their plates for them, smiling down at the little Pagumon.
"Sounds like you are going to take Gabumon up on his offer. Stay on guard, it sounds sketchy. I've got to go sweep up, but it's been great having you here. Best of luck." "Thank you for everything, Ogremon. I give you 5 stars out of 5!"
Skye has agreed to go along with Gabumon's assignment, under the condition that they don't get wrapped up in his crazy conspiracies. With Domon riding on Willis' back, the trio exits the inn. Gabumon Black is waiting for them outside, leaning against the wall.
"Good mornin', gang. It looks like Domon has grown a bit. Have you decided to help me?" "Yup. We'll pick up the delivery. So long as that's it, and we don't get caught up in your conspiracy theory." "Oh, that's fine. Trust me, you don't want my burden. Just head to the large building towards the end of town. The package should be arriving right about... 2 hours ago."
Gabumon Black motions towards the path. Then he claps his paws together and bows to the group.
"Retrieve the delivery, and meet me behind the tavern. Make sure that you are not followed." "Got it. Let's roll."
Having accepted this task, Willis and Domon are about to set forth with their friend Skye to intercept the delivery, allegedly containing information about an underground network of hackers, but Gabumon is paying regardless of what's inside. Willis just hopes that no one will catch on and interfere while they are intercepting.

Skye smiled at the brothers as they responded well to her words. "I see. That I understand. There's a difference between doing bad things for good reasons and bad things for bad reasons" she said. Stealing food to survive when there were no other options was a good reason, stealing just for pure greed was not.
As Ogremon collected their meals, Skye thanked him with a short bow at his hospitality. The food was also delicious. He advised them to be on their guard about this BlackGabumon. "Yes, we will" she said.
Soon after, they departed the tavern, where BlackGabumon was waiting. Skye watched his face as he spoke, looking for signs of deceit, but couldn't discern anything unusual, so she'd go along with things for now.
Skye wrapped her travelling cloak a little tighter as she got the message. "Very well, we shall do so" she said, then followed Willis and Domon. She had limited knowledge of such an operation, but knew the basics. Don't make eye contact with others, don't look suspicious, just look casual, and if anyone asks, ignore them or tell them to mind their own business. If you looked like you had a legitimate purpose, you were fine.
Initially Skye thought of taking the back streets, but supposed they would be more dangerous than travelling on the main street in plain view, especially with the in-training Domon, so she thought the direct route would be more proper. Before long, they were approaching the tall building.
"Willis, do you think you could take a quick fly around to see if anyone's watching?" she asked, thinking that it'd be better to try and see any signs of an ambush from the air.
