When was the last time that he had actually talked with Yuu? Or at least came into contact with them? Honestly past the first meeting there had been no communication what-so-ever between the two of them and that suited kan just fine. He said he'd be ready to start whenever and that he just needed to be contacted in order to do so. So when he got an message on his digivice [that he couldn't really read] but was simply told by one of his spirits what it contained he almost dropped the damn thing.
It didn't take him long ot get his equipment together, in fact it was pretty much a standard array of what you'd expect an engineer to have for quick travel. He couldn't bring any of the heavier stuff immediately but that was fine. He could bring it if need be. Two hours later and he was already within the digital world; another three and he was in white water; shattermon mumbling something about a "team base" before going back to 'resting'. It was technically his day but work made it a bit more important. They understood this and were ussually cool about it.
It was pretty close to sun-down when he actually arrived at what he guessed to be the team base. It didn't seem tooo out of place on the beach head; but it certainly wasn't what he was expecting if he had to be honest. Humming softly he set down both bag and briefcase. The former containing a change of clothing for when he was actually working on whatever device [he didn't want to get his suit dirty]. He'd knock on the door, glancing around trying to figure out if he had the right place... He did have the right place didn't he?

Man, last time she had been active truly felt like a lifetime. She could already see the paperwork and shiver; this would be... quite annoying, wouldn't it? Well, she had it coming; it was really dumb to poof for that long and not expect for the repercussions to not pile up like this.
Still, she couldn't but let out a long sigh as she gazed at the mountain of documents. For a brief moment she gazed at the sleeping visage of her partner, and soon she set to work. How much time had passed? She knew for sure that at least it had been a couple of hours, given how the Sun was beginning to set. At least she was halfway done...
And then the door was knocked. Right, she remembered she had cited a certain person for today. Making sure her attire was fixed, she walked towards the door and opened it, revealing Kan's familiar face. She wrote a quick note and passed it to him.
Evening. Feel at al home. With an idle hand, she gestured for him to get inside.
Briefly, she walked right towards the fridge, getting a can of beer outta it. Another note was written and passed in those moments.
Want anything to drink? Or do we just cut straight to the chase?

He didn't wait for very long as the door was opened, he gave a small nod to the youth; quickly picking up his case and bag in order to step into the building. He'd look around blinking a few times as he took in the area. It was pretty decent to say the least from what he could guess.
"Evening. Thank you."
He'd raise a brow just a little bit at the offered drink; he'd shake his head slightly at the offer of the drink. Maybe once he had gotten a crack at the item in question he'd use that to take the edge off a little bit. If it was anything like she had talked about before, he'd likely need it.
"I'd rather save that for when it gets a little stressful, so if we could get straight to the chase that'd be great. I've been itching to look at this thing for quite some time after all!"
He'd give her a small smile glancing around after a few moments. He quirked a brow and ran a hand through his hair. Trying to think of what exactly it could be. There was no way it was too complicated for him to figure out; he had all the time in the world after all.
"I'd imagine that there are places to change too? I'm not going to take a look at this thing in a suit."

The blonde gave a small nod to the newcomer, before passing yet another note.
Alright then. Hope you don't mind if I do.
After cracking the cold one and taking a generous sip, she continued.
Follow me
How could a beach building have a basement? Well, that was a pretty interesting question, and one that would remain unanswered for now. What mattered was that Kan was facing a broken glass tank and what looked like a ruined console. The thing had been seemingly charred, shot and probably been targeted other attacks, leaving it in a rather poor state.
Yuu took another sip before beginning to write another note and handing it.
There you go. That's the thing. I know that it looks like a pretty recollection of trash, but that actually was used to forcibly evolve digimons all the way to Super Mega. They kinda became unhinged in the process, but that feat enough was pretty surprising.
She then pointed at a door on the left where they currently stood.
You can change there. Feel free to begin whenever.

Kan read over the note and chuckled, shaking his head. Of course he didn't mind. Why would he? She was the one to invite him in after all. It was her "base" well technically it was his base too for the time being, or permantly he wasn't exactly sure.
He'd raise his brows a little bit and follow after her, turning his head to and fro. He frowned slightly when he saw what he was supposed to look over. He'd set his bag and case down, looking it over after a few moments. He'd read the note and find himself frowning further. So this is what she wanted him to look at? The console looked like the control of the machine and the amplification somehow happened through the tank?
"Sounds like there was some amplification of energy in there, guided by the console. Was this aimed at the digimon in question or was there another way this forced them to super mega? it looks too simple to launch any projectiles."
He'd glance over to the door that she pointed to and nodded, he would have to get dirty. He'd likely have to construct some form of scanner to overlook this thing along with figuring out the insides. It didn't seem too complicated to him, but that could be the trick. He couldn't help but wonder what would happen if you put a spirit in there.
He'd give yuu a nod before trotting off to go get changed, not taking long in the least bit before he was out in what looked to be what you'd expect a car mechanic to wear but much cleaner.
"I think I should get my set up started, and then maybe grab some more equipment from back home. Unless you have a projector of some kind?"

That was good. Somebody who didn't mind the casual tone the whole meeting had while still in the middle of a pretty strange offering was an asset, Yuu thought.
Not that she could give it much consideration, however. At this point, she was more or less used to do as she pleased.
Kan's own conclusion was something she had guessed, of course. Yet...
Yeah, that was one of my initial theories, but. I'm still surprised that something so simple in concept can get you a super mega. Theoretically, the amount of energy that somebody must exert should be pretty big for that, amirite? I know that the whole process is hella exhausting, and these guys were spittin' them out like bread.
She nodded at the mention of the simple design. This seemed to be a prototype of sorts; a pretty good one, but a prototype at the end of the day.
The blonde waited until guy got outta the room, and after a brief consideration of his question, she couldn't but to ask.
A projector? What kind of projector? I think I get one pretty quickly unless you're referring to a strange gizmo and not to something that projects pictures.

He'd stroke his chin, opening up his case and getting out a laptop along with several other worksman tools. There was a kit that was used for more delicate work along with one that was more for larger bits. He didn't have his power equipment but that was fine. He didn't really want to risk breaking this thing.
"Which means there is a powersource that they were using to provide the energy, or perhaps it was more triggering something in their data. It could force them to evovle by taking the proper steps. They are just code at the end of the day after all and can be manipulated properly if you know what you are doing. So it's between the power and the coding. It could be both."
He'd eye the two and sigh shaking his head, getting his tools set out and lined up on a little mat. He would take this thing apart only after he had made the scanner.
"An image projector will do, I can retro fit it to take things in rather than projecting images. Just will take a bit of tweaking and some parts I have with me. That way I can have it scan over the outside of this thing and give me basic measurements. Nothing advanced unfortunately. That one is at home and it's industrial sized."
He'd snort softly and open his computer, booting it up after a few moments. He looked thoughtful and started to investigate the console while it went through it's proccess of booting up.
"My question is, what hit this exactly. Was it on? and if not was there a connection of some kind between it and the glass tank over there?"

Man, those surely were... a lot of questions. Yuu wasn't even sure how to tackle them. Well, let's see...
Yeah. There was a power source, but I couldn't get it. Place was explodin' and stuff. In the end, this was what I could recover when I got back to that place. Ain't much, but like I said, the machine made me hella curious. I frankly didn't expect for anybody to crack it up, but since you offered... that's why you're here.
I'll get the projector right away, then.
Funny how she had those random items in her person, but one day Kyo wanted to see movies on "a big screen" and they had gotten it. If she ever wants to do that again, they can always buy another. But for now... curiosity trumped anything else.
In fact, she was quite expectant to see Kan in action.
Eventually, she got back with the machiner under her arms, handing it to the brunette just to watch him go over his work. In the end, she just faced more questions.
Well, it got incinerated and shot, mostly. But I'm sure that it overloaded afterward and ended up blowing up. Machines are just like that. And I guess that the tank was a controlled environment whoever designed this used to test the forced evolution. I couldn't get a sample of the solution inside, so that's another big question sign.
Least to say, being curious about a machine while fighting for your life wasn't a good sign.

More questions to be had, she seemed surprised to have him asking so many. So there was explosions, the place that they had gotten this from likely was destroyed. He'd sigh softly; if he could just look over the location he could do even more. But he severely doubted that was the case. He'd look over the console again, kneeling next to it. Looking for a panel or a way to get into the item in question without having to damage the exterior any more than it already was.
"Is the place a ruin or just completely gone? Would there be a chance of any left overs there? The more I have to work with the more I can piece together."
He'd look it over a little bit, watching her go to go get the projector. By the time she came back, he had set aside a few parts that would do what he needed the projector to do. There was a bundle of wires, some form of intake and outgoing plug along with several other items. One of which seemed to be a thick circle of glass; likely to spread out the light a little more.
"incinerated and shot, I can tell that by the damage. So it's wiring is likely overloaded because of that. Any parts that I pull from here I will likely be forced to replace if anything. If you couldn't get a sample of a solution that's unfortunate; but there are only so many things you can do with the stuff here in the digital world. If it's a controlled environment there likely will be some form of residue embedded in the glass if it sat there long enough. We could get samples from that. In fact, that's something I can do with what I'm going to do to the scanner. We can also find out what type of glass they used."
He'd take the projector from yuu and start examining it before taking it apart. He moved rather quickly, picking it apart with easy and finesse. There wasn't more than maybe five minutes before it was gutted and laying in front of him. He went over it a few times before adding the few items he had brought with him to the mix. The in and out cable replaced one that ran up to the projector and the cable that had originally come with it would be set aside. Along side the initial glass as well. He'd slide the glass that sat in front of the projector light and replace it with the thick one that he had brought along. The other parts just seemed to melt into the gutted projector as he just went to work.
"Replace the power cable that runs to the projector itself with something thicker, able to handle more power. Projectors like these are heavy duty and can handle much much more than the cables can, it's a balancing factor as they're afraid to burn it out. I could replace it with a cable twice as thick as this and it'd still be fine. The glass is to spread out the projector's light a little more and this other wire here? It changes it's output to an input. So whatever I put in front of it will get scanned and uploaded into my computer. That's why I added a usb drive that would likely match with my computer and added a small hard drive so it can hold information if need be. I can switch the output and input after this and it'll just be a projector again. The other parts were just minor things, making it so power flow was more constant around the board so we won't risk blow out."

Now they were getting into business! Those questions were more of the style of what she expected, in all honesty.
I actually retrieved that item when I went back to that place. Didn't have much time to examine the place the first time; kinda busy at trying to not get overpowered by a Chaosdramon, you know? That thing was bonkers.
Anyhow, off with the silly details. Yeah, there's a chance of there being some leftovers, since the last time I was there it was like... a week ago or so? If you wanna get there, I guess we could do that.
He also had some good ideas on guessing what could be inside the tube. And while she wasn't entirely sure of something still permeating the glass, just the chance of there being was enough for her.
Replacing parts isn't an issue at all. Nothing in there looks to be overly expensive, and as long as I can get an insight of how that machine works, it'll probably be worth it.
And thus, she set to watch Kan work and explaining what he was doing. It was really educational, and she wasn't lying when saying that she was interested in the inner workings of this process. For now, however, she nodded at his explanation and remained even more silent than usual, watching how the man got to work.

"Suppose that makes sense, was it one of the ones forced to digivolve?"
He'd narrow his eyes and conect the now "scanner" to his computer with a usb. After a few moments he'd get a little notification from his computer and he'd grin. It would work, it'd just be a little slow at first.
"It'd be helpful to get as much as we could, but i can work with what we have here to get a strong baseline and if needed I can fill in any holes from that if I can't figure out everything."
He'd flick the projector on and rather than the normal whiteish light that went with most projectors a nice soothing blue was coming from the projector instead. Certainly letting him know that it was set up in a proper way. If the console wasn't shielded he'd be able to get a scan of the whole thing. If it was? he'd have to take it apart and hold each piece up to the damn thing.
"First of course I'll work on seeing if I can get a general lay out of the schematic on my computer, it's got a 3d rendering program that can be dropped down into a flat schematic.. though it'll look messy."
He'd grumble and type up a few things on his computer; mostly observations and what not before going over to the console, waving his hand in front of the scanning bit. It wouldn't bother scanning his hand, it didn't have enough metal in it with the parameters that had been set previously.
"Once it's done scanning which won't take Long I can take it apart and just see where the issue is too. So bright sides on both. If it doesn't scan through the entire thing I'll be forced to drag out piece by piece and have my computer have a general.. well invintory of all the parts. Which the more complicated this thing is the longer that is going to take."

Yeah. One of those fuckers almost makes me a goner. That's kinda one of the reasons why I'm interested in this device. It wasn't just the forced evolution, but also the raw power it provided. Guess the drawback isn't all that good given it was thrashing me like a wild animal, but as long as that was good enough for the job...
Harnessing that kind of power could prove beneficial, but also highly dangerous, she reckoned. All in all, having the additional option at hand never hurts. For a moment, she stared at the computer's screen before getting to write again.
We can go there if you want to, though. Place's pretty close, at least if I put some effort on reaching there. Your choice.
Once again, she became silent as she watched the man work. It was really interesting to see what he'd come out with. Even if... it'd take a little more time.
I guess that the more through the analysis is, the better. I couldn't find anybody who could crack into it, so there's that. And I personally have all the time in the world, so feel free to take as much as you need.
On the other hand, her can was empty now, and that was something she had to fix. Before going back upstair, she handed one last quick note.
Sure you don't want something to drink? Doesn't have to have alcohol if that's your beef with it.

"That's insane. So it gave them power in exchange for being an animal basically. If it could be toned down a bit, it'd likely be something.. well. Rather useful but it'd also be highly coveted."
He'd frown a little bit now understanding why they wanted to research it. He was already accepting payment and what not for this so he had no right to judge them. He wouldn't care anyways, another item like this would make it really easy to make it harder for profit itself to get messed with. Seeing as he was technically a member that made him safer. But it also meant to him that it was a better idea to get something else taken care of.
"It could also be used for other things too, if this allows something like a super-mega to be formed with energy and an animalistic tendancy it could be used to fix things wrong with digimon along with maybe making them. But that's just a theory really. This has many more applications than just sliding someone up to super mega.
He'd stare at the computer screen as the proccesses seemed to want to take some time. It was likely trying to match the spectrum of known compounds and what not. Along with the things in the digital world, they were based off of real metals after all.
"I'd like to. If it's not too much of a hassle."
He'd look over the console again spinning one of his tools idly in his hand; a thoughtful look crossing his face.
"Well if we have plenty of time, then I certainly do as well. It's not like I'm going to rush. If I take it bit by bit, we'll eventually get there."
He'd chuckle lightly and nod.
"I was more saving the alcohol for later if I got stressed, so a regular drink would be fine."

Yeah, that was pretty much what I thought 'bout it. I mean, there's obviously the method of just kidnapping random digimons and making them extremely powerful and feral to wreak havoc, but there's obviously no point in doing that. For now, I just wanna understand this piece of tech. If anything, the dude who's behind this things is still at large, and I'm frankly not looking forward to fighting against an army of things powered by it. Sucks to be a pushover, but I barely handled one.
Kan indeed had a point about the invention, however. If somehow its effects could be reverted, it'd be pretty good at healing various ailments or even at curing some of the more insidious viruses this world had. That's an interesting notion.
In the end, all of them are theories. For now, we can only hope to understand that thing properly. Seems like organizing a trip to that place was in short order too.
Sure thing. We can go there as early as right now if you want. Probs better to go with actual daylight, but I don't mind.
Leaving Kan to think about that option, Yuu left the scene, only to come back with another cold one and a bottle of water, handing the latter to the man.
Any progress?

"which if you wanted to create something long standing wouldn't really be an option. If the person who did this is still at large, there is a likely chance we'll be able to get more samples if we find wherever he had chosen to set up. I can only imagine how it would of went. I probrably would of lost."
He'd shrug; it didn't hurt to admit it but he simply didn't have the fire power to tackle a super mega. One takes care of another and often more than not would not be the case. It'd take some really hard fighting for two megas to overcome a super mega and after all.. he was just one person. He'd stare at the computer screen as it slowly started to render the pieces together. It was bare bones, mostly just the shell but that was to be expected.
"After the scan is over and I've labeled some of the problems I don't see why not. But that itself will take some time so tomorrow is likely our best option."
He'd watch her leave and turn back to his computer frowning as the model was slowly rendered. There were quite a few parts to this particular piece; he could see where things were supposed to link together. He could tell where the damage was based off of how some parts were just gone or juttering to a stop in one case. It was frustrating and he'd likely have to take apart that area and see. Luckily a few of the areas were quite simple and he had to admit that whomever built this knew their stuff. It was well taken care of and there wasn't any room for error.
"Over all? The scanning successfully has laid out a general schematic of the console. There are parts missing, there are a few damage locales and a strip of wiring has been completely burnt out from it being overloaded. Judging from the thickness it was meant to handle quite a bit of power. Wether that's for the digimon or the console itself? I'll find out once I get it into working shape. The console itself also seems to have some places where a hard-drive should go; which means there's likely stored data in it if we can get it into working order. I doubt it'll have much other than the settings for the tube however."
He'd rub his chin thoughtfully and shake his head.
"I'm going to have to tear this thing open and lay out all the parts anyways, so I can see what parts are damage, I only got one or two wires that are and I doubt that is the actual case."
