K certainly needed just a little bit of time to herself for once. As of late she had done so much, traveled so much and just simply... Didn't have much in the way of time to herself. Most certainly she missed her inn but she also missed some of the slow days where she could just relax.
The sun was low in the sky so thankfully the amount of people that were on the beach itself was what you'd expect. The large ultimate took a seat on the sand itself, looking about to note that even the few people that were there were simply avoiding her.
She could be dangerous for all they knew and it was getting late. She'd snort and gently run a hand through the sand, letting loose a small sigh. She had sent joseph back to the human world a bit ago after all. He was more used to it after all than here; as well as having a physical presence with her new connections would be important.
"Oh the mess I've gotten into..."
She'd rub her muzzle thoughtfully and stare out onto the water. If she wanted to she could go for a dip but she knew for a fact that this form was for fighting more than for the fun stuff.. It likely didn't help she hadn't a clue how to turn back to her "normal" state. Her ears flattened against her head as she mused over the last couple weeks.
"First a train crash, followed by meeting so many different messes of humans and digimon... Lord have mercy..."

Relaxation was certainly on a certain cyborg digimon's mind too, and what better way of doing that than keeping in shape at the same time? Eva certainly thought so as she went for an evening swim. Sure, her arms and legs were cybernetic, they weren't going to change much, but swimming was good for all muscle groups, including the natural ones the digimon had left. The sun was starting to dip lower in the sky though, casting an orange haze upon sky and sea both. Soon, it would no doubt start to get colder, and with less natural bodymass to regulate heat that could become a real issue.
With those factors in mind, she headed for the shore, casually strolling out when the water became too shallow to effectively swim through as she stood up and ran her hands through her hair in at attempt to get the water away from her eyes. Not that it would have mattered too much, her eyes like the rest of her were designed to be able to operate in all environments, including underwater. The cybernetic digimon looked around as she made her way out of the water and up the beach, returning to her spot on the sand to retrieve her towel and dry off. Seemed most people had turned in for the night, leaving just a few small scattered groups.

K was still staring out at the ocean, rather passively for the most part. Her hands dragging through the sand in such a manner to cause rather deep rivets in them. She however found herself staring at someone she wasn't anticipating seeing so soon. Or in such a manner as this.
She would recognize that build practically anywhere, after all she had spent enough time looking at it when they were in the train on the way back to terminus a while ago. Though eva likely didn't recognize the Shutmon, it was hard for the latter not to recognize the former.
She'd slowly stand up, wondering how best to approach this; she didn't want to come off as unnecessarily hostile. After all alot had changed and if an ultimate approached you in the streets you'd be nervous right? Rubbing the side of her muzzle she approached the modified digimon.
Her voice sounded older, more wisened a tad more motherly than the last time the other would of heard it. But hopefully it was close enough to what she would remember to not doubt the digimon entirely. So with a small, but friendly wave she'd greet the renamon.
"Eva! It's been far too long, you're looking much better than last I saw you!"
There of course was the brief and somewhat awkward pause followed by her own introduction. Or at least correction of whom she was.
"And I know this is probably hard to believe, but it's K."

The voice did seem somewhat familiar, but, at least to start with Eva was not quite able to place it. She wasn't intimidated or nervous by this digimon's appearance in the slightest though. After all, she was easily the equivilant of an ultimate level herself with all her cybernetics, which were on clearly on show including the NanoWerx Industries logo emblazoned in orange in contrast to the black and dark grey materials used on her shoulder seeing as she was wearing a one piece swimsuit rather than her usual attire. After all, you wouldn't go swimming in jeans and a hoodie and Eva sure as hell wasn't one to go nude unlike most other digimon.
"Eva! It's been far too long, you're looking much better than last I saw you!"
She raised a brow, still trying to place that voice in the awkward silence that followed.
"I'm sorry, I don't believe we've met. Your voice does sound familiar though."
"And I know this is probably hard to believe, but it's K."
"Oooooh. That's why your voice sounds familiar. You look different. Done something with your hair?" she gave a little chuckle at the jovial downnplay of K's change of appearance. Of course, this being the digital world that thing happened more often than one might think, but, such sudden and complete metamorphosis was something Eva was still not exactly used to. It didn't make much sense, at least, from a human world point of view.
"And yes, took some time but, I'm pretty much back to myself. What brings you out here? I was just going for a swim. Got to stay in shape, y'know."

K tilted her head a little bit as she noticed those logo's; before she hadn't really gotten to look over eva that much. Well past checking for the damage on her chest that she ultimately couldn't do much about. It had left a sour taste in her mouth back then, but now she was more glad the other digimon was in one piece rather than several dozen.
Of course the awkward silence that followed her initial statement was met with an eyebrow raise, followed quickly by what amounted to being polite about one of the two of them recognizing the other. Though of course when K stated who she was.. The other was quick to warm up; after all they had ended up fighting alongside one another.
"Just a little, thought I'd try purple."
She'd snort softly and gently take a seat not wanting to make the other have to get up in order to continue this conversation. It was nice seeing them again that much was certain.
"That's good to hear, I was a mess for a good amount of time too. Well.... It's a bit of a story. But I was looking for a medical practitioner to move on out here, I put in my request earlier it's just a matter of waiting."
She'd shrug and blink, her ears flicking forward.
"...Stay in shape? Ohhh Exercising and such, right I suppose we would yes. I ah.. Don't do it much as you can probably tell."
There was a small pause and she'd frown after some thought.
"It's been a right mess since we've last seen each other though. I haven't had a lick of time to unwind!"
She'd laugh softly and shake her head...

Eva grabbed her towel, drying off her face, blinking a couple of times as the lenses in her eyes re-adjusted in their usual precise well engineered fashion. In fact, every little cybernetic component anywhere on her body was seemingly built up to the same precise standard, the still wet surfaces glinting subtly in the evening sun. There was a tagline below the NanoWerx Industries logo, and the writing of the company name itself. "Making the future less predictable".
"That's good to hear, I was a mess for a good amount of time too. Well.... It's a bit of a story. But I was looking for a medical practitioner to move on out here, I put in my request earlier it's just a matter of waiting."
"A doctor? Don't you just run an inn? I guess if it's in the arse end of nowhere it would be useful to have someone on site with that capability I suppose."
She shrugged, thinking it over and seeing some logic in that decision. Would be expensive no doubt, but, this was the digital world. Sure, a bar fight back in Blighty could lead to someone getting glassed but in the digital world? People tended to pack a whole lot more firepower wherever they went.
"...Stay in shape? Ohhh Exercising and such, right I suppose we would yes. I ah.. Don't do it much as you can probably tell."
"It's been a right mess since we've last seen each other though. I haven't had a lick of time to unwind!"
"Inn's been that busy, huh? Hey suppose it's all good for business, right? I have to check that place out sometime."

Curiosity was plain on her features; she hadn't a clue what that symbol represented or what it indicated about Eva. It was obvious she was much different than any renamon she had ever really met... But that was kind of the case for all digimon wasn't it? Finding that it was likely going to be rude to continue staring she'd tilt her head just a tiche when they seemed a little surprised at first that she would need a doctor.
"Well. There is a town around my inn, it's small and not exactly on the map. They don't have a proper Doctor there and I'm the closest thing they've got."
She'd shake her head slowly and then she'd sigh; if the spider digimon that they had to deal with some time ago was any indication the digimon there would get into trouble and hope that the Renamon at the time would be able to treat them. It was frustrating that she was trusted more than an actual doctor...
"Well it was busy when I last saw it, it's been a right mess getting back to it."
She'd rub her muzzle and make a slightly irritated expression before chuckling lightly.
"My vacation had me going around the digital world, from one place to another. But I just kept running into trouble, then when I got back to my inn I was only there for a couple days before my third floor's executive suite apparently has a portal to the human world in it's door. So I'm just getting back to the issues at hand before making my way back to the Inn...."
She'd grin at the idea of Eva coming to check out the inn however.
"Well you'd likely enjoy it. We'd finally be able to get those drinks."

"Certainly sounds like things have been busy, but hey, sure as hell better than it being quiet and getting no business. Also, a portal just randomly opened up?"
Eva thought about that for a second. That didn't make much sense to her, but, what did around here in the digital world? She knew NanoWerx Industries had been working on some sort of "quantum link technology". She wasn't even going to pretend that she knew the science behind it, but, what she did know is that it took some of the best scientific minds they had and several banks of supercomputers to just create a small and very temporary gate, big enough to send a small quadcopter drone or rover in to have a quick look around until it runs out of battery power and returns through an exit gate. The one advantage it had though, was precision. They could open it up anywhere they damn well pleased, which likely wouldn't be some random apartment in the middle of nowhere.
"Any idea where in the human world it led to? I didn't think they just sort of popped into existence like that. Figured something had to make them."
"Well you'd likely enjoy it. We'd finally be able to get those drinks."
"Yeah, if it has good drinks I probably will. Sounds like a plan. I got pretty sick of taking the train, so, I got my own way of getting about."
With that, she took out a set of keys, the Jaguar logo emblazoned on them and pressed a button on the fob. Out of seemingly just thin air and data, a sleek steel grey sports car assembled itself, almost as if it was pixel by pixel until the vehicle finally solidified, its xenon headlamps igniting and the five litre V8 burbling into life.
"I would say we could go now but ah..."
She looked up at the much taller digimon, wondering the best way of wording such a thing. In the end, she decided to just straight up come out and say it, as she pressed another button, the engine shutting off. No use wasting fuel after all.
"I don't think you'd well, fit."

"Somewhat, enough to keep me running around that's for sure. and yes, It wasn't there the last time I rented that room out i know that much. So it must of come to be recently?"
The shutmon frowned a bit and looked down at her hands, recalling the incident vividly. Well it wasn't so much an Incident as it was just a slight bump on the road. After all she had managed to befriend a few humans, get a holosuit and even get back to the digital world. Though the journey here had been a little more exciting than she'd of liked she couldn't argue with the fact that she had enjoyed the change of pace.
"Japan, I came out of someone's house incidentally. Like right out of their door. Closed it too without thinking. I wouldn't really know about how they come to be though, the digital world can be strange"
She'd shrug a bit and then chuckle lightly as the renamon agreed about the drinks. Then even went so far as to making a joke about the train.
"I could imagine so, after that whole debacle."
K would blink and stare owlishly when the vehicle manifested itself in front of her. It was made for someone human sized and judging by the hesitation from the other digimon K could guess several problems. One of which being her size and make. She'd likely be too heavy and too big for this vehicle to operate properly. Rubbing her muzzle she'd flash a small smile at eva.
"I don't either, Let me just..."
She'd look down at her hands again, how did she do it before? This form felt so comfortable to her and she just didn't know how to explain it. She doubted that she was fast enough to keep up with something like this even using Bound. The light crease of a frown brought itself to her face, and that gentle light of digivolution took hold. It wasn't anywhere near bright enough as it should be, but the shutmon ended up regressing into a renamon. For a brief moment it looked like she had purple fur before the data dispersed leaving the visage Eva would remember.
"...Feels strange being like this again."

Eva blinked a couple of times seeing the sudden transformation, something that she could never do and yet another thing that made no sense. It honestly hurt her a little inside. Standing in front of her was a digimon of her species the way a digimon was meant to be as opposed to her, coding torn apart and crudely modified by beings who didn't even understand what they were doing. She couldn't blame NanoWerx Industries, she couldn't blame humanity, they were just trying to advance technology, trying to save lives. Their goals were noble, they just jumped in before they had really looked at the consequences. She couldn't blame anyone. She couldn't even stand the sight of herself in the mirror most days, and here yet again was a "mirror" image of how she was meant to be. Nonetheless, she felt no ill will, no hostility. Keeping those feelings tightly locked up inside was something the cyborg had gotten good at over the years and besides, K seemed like a good person. Not someone Eva could easily get angry at especially for something that no one could be blamed for.
She took a deep breath. Depression was an easy trap to fall into.
"Right. Well, that's one way of solving the problem. I'm not going to drive... however far it is, dressed in swimwear though. Give me a moment."
Just like before, Eva disappeared into a shimmer of orange light, the only evidence of her being there, her bag moving slightly as she quickly got changed under the cover of the light distorting cloaking field.
Her situation wasn't all bad. Eva couldn't even count how many times her augmentations had saved her from an early grave, not to mention the implanted special forces training, both directly uploaded to her mind and honed in simulated realities. She doubted that she would still even be breathing if faced with the same circumstances and not almost literally armed to the teeth.
When she re-appeared, the digimon was wearing more ordinary attire. A white T-shirt and some tan cargo pants, and was holding the car keys in her hand. She pressed a button on the fob, the powerful engine rumbling into life once more as the bright headlights shone through the growing evening darkness, the sky now turned from amber to a deep red as the sun slowly dipped below the horizon.
"So. Where even is this place?"

K shifted a little bit and nodded quickly when the other indicated they weren't going to drive in the swimwear. She couldn't blame them really, but she also couldn't understand the desire to wear clothing in general. It was an odd human quirk and some digimon seemed to pick it up. Though Shutmon had what she assumed to be some kind of clothing mixed with the armor...
"yeah, it's... I'm still getting used to the entire thing. Not used to even having further ones. All right, No rush."
She'd blink a bit as Eva vanished, it was impressive how she could do that. The renamon could only displace herself, not do an outright vanishing move like that. She had to admit that if she could, she'd learn how to do so. But she felt like that she had already learned all she could for this form at least...
When the other re-appeared she was wearing something she had seen a few humans wear in the human world. It was strange to her really, but.. There wasn't much she could say about it other than that.
"It's in the eastern Timberlands, in a quaint little town. Nice people even though they take a while to warm up to you."
She'd sigh gently and shake her head, moving towards the car curiously. She had seen quite a few of them in Japan, but she never really bothered to really look them over.. It was quite nice in comparison to most of them.
"shall we then?"

"Sure. Let's get moving then. Whole lot of distance to cover but..." Eva quickly glanced at the fuel gauge before realising, hey, this was the digital world. Vehicles weren't constricted by the normal laws of physics. "but we should be able to make good time here". Eva's Jaguar was probably a pretty strange sight in the digital world. A little piece of Earth driving through an alien landscape.
The digital world may have had established roads in the cities, but, it was not nearly as urbanised all over as the human world, leading the two to have to take dirt trails for most of the journey, twisting through the forests and wildlands. Eva didn't seem to mind though, in fact if anything she was enjoying it. She was a good driver, the scenery was nice, and the vehicle was performing exactly as it should. She even had the opportunity on a few of the gravel trails to open up the taps a little, picking up pace considerably.
"So, what made you want to open an inn?" Eva said, between gear changes, shifting down for a tight left hander as the exhaust popped and crackled, spitting out a lick of flame from the large twin pipes. "Guessing by the way you handled yourself when we were fighting those... whatever the hell they were, you're not exactly a stranger to combat. Former career?"

"Quite a bit, it'd be a long journey on foot. After that whole train incident I've.. not really wanted to use them but, they're kind of required to move between the human and digital world normally."
She'd grumble a little bit and inspect the inside of the vehicle. She had never been in one and she had to admit she liked the design. She'd set one arm on the door edge, looking out of the window as they drove. There wasn't much to see and she didn't want to stare at Eva. She always found herself doing it, she was just.. intensely curious.
When the other inquired about the reasoning behind why she opened the inn K chuckled and leaned a bit back. Looking at the other renamon with a small smile.
"It was a place I was comfortable being and.. well. I wanted to help travelers. I just.. really didn't have the energy to go around for a rather.. Long time."
She'd look down at her hands and frown a string of thoughts she didn't recognize crossing her mind.
I had to set up there, no one would find me. If what had happened to the others were any consolation...
The headache that she had been dealing with for the last few days seemed to get worse and she'd gently put a hand to her head. The other also guessed that she was no stranger to combat, the renamon would nod and chuckle.
"I was part of well... An army a long time ago. Some military out of luminas hell bent on quelling a virus army. The details are really fuzzy I don't really know why. But it was... good times even with all the fighting."
There was a brief pause and she'd let out a long sigh.
"There were a handful of times I feel like I should of been stronger though. What about you? You're.. much different than any renamon I've met. Considering how you had more ease taking care of well... Those creatures."

"There are actually a few stable naturally occurring portals. That's how I arrived in the digital world in the first place. Some stick around for days, weeks, even theoretically years. Been tracking some of their locations for quick access. Takes some investigation to find them but it means you don't have to waste time travelling there by rail. You just step through, and you're there."
The interior of the car was indeed very tastefully upholstered and appointed. The seats and door armrest were a light tan coloured leather, the rest of the cabin clad in a mix of high quality feeling plastics and metal trim. A large touchscreen dominated the centre of the dash with options for climate control, radio, and for making adjustments to the suspension, engine response and even exhaust note.
"It was a place I was comfortable being and.. well. I wanted to help travellers. I just.. really didn't have the energy to go around for a rather.. Long time."
Eva nodded at the other Renamon's explanation, however, could certain feel that there was something more to it than that. She looked to her for a moment, judging her reaction and raising a brow before setting her concentration back onto the road ahead. It was fully dark by now, but, Eva didn't simply activate her night vision. The headlights would have staright up dazzled her if she did that, and if she turned them off? There would be nothing to warn any incoming vehicles of their presence.
K admitting that she was in some sort of military force did confirm some suspicions. It was just the way she acted, the way she handled that prior combat situation. Sure, most if not all digimon know how to fight, but that mostly came from instinct, rather than formal training. K's next question though certainly made Eva pause to think about it, and the right way to even respond to such a query.
"There were a handful of times I feel like I should of been stronger though. What about you? You're.. much different than any renamon I've met. Considering how you had more ease taking care of well... Those creatures."
"Been more than a handful of times, and I would hardly call it "ease" in regarding to those things. My cybernetics were simply not designed for the digital world. They were designed for human military and police use. Human combat situations are a whole other type of warfare altogether, requiring different equipment. Although..." she shrugged "...a good rifle seems to still do the job just fine."

"That is strange... I was unaware of these portals. But knowing of them and where they would come out would help me and a few friends I can think of."
K would tap her muzzle thoughtfully, staring blankly forward. If she found the portals, she could feasibly inform those within Aegis of their locales or where they consistently came from. Which would help them keep a tighter grip on things in the human world. Which would ultimately lead to a better, rather stable relationship rather than.. Well. Whatever it was now.
She found herself staring down at her hands again. Why was that coming through her head in such a fashion? Why did she care what relations the digital world had with the human one? Just more jumbled thoughts she couldn't make sense of. There was a small sigh once more and she'd ease her head into her hands.
What am I going to do, if these migraines just get worse and worse...
She'd tenderly rub her head and raise her brows when the other spoke. So they had fought quite a bit as well? The ease that the renamon had indicated was somewhat scoffed at as well as an explanation of where her cybernetics were more designed for. Well more of a short explanation, she wasn't an engineer after all.
"I suppose yes. Regardless, we did handle it the best we could for the time that we came across the creatures."
There was a brief frown and she found that she was staring at her hands again. They just looked so strange to her, why was that?
"...You say.. Designed?"
The renamon looked actual confused for a moment, wincing as her migraine seemed to worsen.
"...What do you mean? If you don't mind me asking?"
