Challenge Day 1: Preperations for "Battle"

Ah, it had really been a while, hadn't it? Given all the chaos of her Digital World adventures, Vika was happy to find herself in a different sort of battle today; a snowboarding competition. The sport had been her love from far before she had even stumbled across her first Spirit Totem, but she was honestly a tad out of practice given how accustomed she had become to Asmaan's hoverboard capabilities. For the sake of fairness, the Wind Spirit had managed to remove the "hover" feature of the hoverboard and return it to it's old glory (at least temporarily).
At the moment, Vika was waiting in the locker room for the event to start in a short while. It appeared everyone else had either finished changing, or had their own changing areas; the Wind Spirit was alone here. Honestly, that was best before an event. Plus she still needed to equip herself in her sports gear which was scattered across the room (partially on the overly thing benches, partially stuffed in a locked, and occasionally just on the ground).
Having just put on her typical "adventuring outfit jersey",she proceeded to zip up an ice blue winter coat equipped with a rather warm lining. Her bottom half had already been covered by a brown-green pair of snowpants that had rather obvious marks on the knees from her multiple tumbles. Despite them, it was strong enough to keep her body insulated in the cold. The accessories took a bit more work; one dark-green glove was by her foot while another had somehow crawled over to the opposite wall of lockers. A toque was conveniently pulled out of a jacket pocked and fitted over her head as best as possible given her long ponytail. Still a better option than having her hair down. Topping off the outfit were her standard pair of snowboarding goggles (lately moreso aircraft goggles, but they worked both ways) and a purple scarf wrapped rather loosely around her neck; the flapping "tails" of the item happened to be something she enjoyed.
"That just leaves...the boots..." she noted to herself as she bent down by her locker and took the items in question out. Between multiple buckles, they were sure to stay on during her snowboarding run (and then some).
Vika allowed her mind to wander into a routine performed almost subconsciously. It began with simply arm stretches; first to the ceiling, then down to touch her toes. Next came the legs; first stretched with lunges, then bent backwards as she balanced on one leg surprisingly well before switching to the other. Cracks could be heard as she craned her neck and rotated it, and similar cracks came from her prepared knuckles.
Now that she was physically prepared, she had to focus on her mental state. The girl took a deep breath as she closed her eyes and pictured the venue in her mind; the snow-laden hills she would soon descend upon with her board. She had to nail this straight from the get-go. No, more than that; she had to win with style. This meant an entrance needed to be decided upon. Hm...probably couldn't risk something with hovering or that may get her disqualified (even if she turned the function off for the race itself). Would a big jump be too bad? Given no hovering and no Spirit Form, that might be a bit tricky to pull off.
Tricky, but not impossible. She'd need some sort of ramp for that though. Or a decent running start at the very least. Though that felt a lot more "skater" than "snowboarder", Vika was fine with it. Better than nothing, and she was running short on time to think up something more elaborate. Red may have been some help, but she had unsurprisingly not allowed him into the locker room. To some degree, the Wind Spirit needed her privacy.
Pounding a fist into an open palm, the girl nodded at her own plan. Yes, a running start into a jump and a 360. No she did not care this was a race and not freestyle; it still needed to be stylish! And that would be just to land on the starting line. Then there was the question of what to do upon her inevitable victory. At that point, her Wind Spirit form would lend a myriad of fun options.
But really she needed to be focusing on the middle part; the race itself. Walking over to Asmaan leaning against a wall, she took hold of the board and allowed it to drop to the ground. A heel placed slightly on the back end prevented it from crashing hard, and she only slowly applied pressure with her second foot as she adjusted herself onto the vehicle to reaffirm it's characteristics. It definitely felt heavier without any hovering; she'd need to adjust for that.
And apparently very soon; the clock signified she was low on time. A harder push with her back heel sent the board into the air where it was caught from the top and placed under her right arm.
"Time to make history."
