Questionable Orientation [Timmir]

The day had finally arrived! That incredibly exciting day where a boy and his mon become a Man and his mon. The most exciting day of a young recruits life! Yes that's right, Orientation! The day a newbie finally joins the ranks of D.A.T.S as an official officer. Yes indeed! He'd been invited to the D.A.T.S HQ for his official induction where he would learn what it truly meant to be a D.A.T.S agent!
It would be even better if he was given any instruction besides the name of the room he needed to find. Indeed all he knew was he needed to be in the orientation room by 3:30. One would probably figure there'd be a map at the front desk, or a concierge, or any instruction at all for him somewhere but nope. The new recruit would arrive with just that and no one to tell him where to go, just an empty front desk and two hallways one on either side. ARROW wouldn't even be online to assist him, as there was a sign that said ARROW maintenance in progress.
So what now? Was it a test? Was it bad circumstances? Should he come back or dive in ahead and try to believe he can find the way on his own or maybe find someone to help him? Left right or back? Which route would he take?
It was the choice of the new duo.

((I'm really sorry for how late this is. I do have to ask why you used alot of masculine pronouns when Megan is a woman. Is it just to tie with the joke you used in the second sentence, or did you honestly not know that this orientation was meant for a female character?))
Well today is the day that Megan and Kami officially become apart of the organization known as DATS. It was 3:20 when they had entered the DATS HQ, admittedly abit later then Megan had originally intended for them to arrive. Yet, as they entered, it seemed they were earlier then DATS had expected as no one was manning the front desk, and there was no sign of anybody to show them where to go. Megan then felt Kami tug at her jacket as the disguised turtle digimon grabbed her attention.
"Are you sure you got the time right?" Kami asked signing.
"I believe so. Let me check." She signed before pulling out her D-terminal. After quickly checking something on it, she closed it and put it back in her front jacket pocket. "It says were suppose to be in the orientation room at 3:30 today, and it's 3:21 now. So I would expect someone to be here to show us where the orientation room is at, but apparently that'a not so."
"Maybe they're just understaffed" Kami reasoned.
"Maybe. Let's go see if we can't find the Orientation Room ourselves."
Kami nodded in agreement. "Maybe we can find a map on the front desk to help us find on our way."
"Good Idea" And with that, they both approached the front desk. Unfortunately however, they couldn't see any sign of a map at all on the desk.
"Well, I guess that's to be expected. DATS probably wouldn't want just anybody to have a floor plan of their building."
"I guess, but I'm starting to get the feeling someone doesn't want us to reach the Orientation Room."
Megan quickly checked her watch. "Well, we now got a little less then six minutes before were expected to be at the Orientation Room, so let's just quickly try to find it. Hopefully it wouldn't prove to be to hard to find." Megan then looked down the two adjacent hallways before asking, "Which way do you think we should go?"
Kami took a quick glance at both hallways be pointing down the left one. With that, they both began to wander down that direction, hoping they would find some hint of the room they were suppose to be in.

((you're a girl and I am a dumb))
They'd find nothing, no map no note except for the one mentioned before and no hide nor hair of another living creature. What was with this place. While it was true they wouldn't want anyone with a floor plan shouldn't they be worried about someone wandering in and say just waltzing down the left corridor?
This seemed a bit suspicious
They'd walk for a while and come to another set of paths, one seeming to go into a courtyard and another leading strait off down a hallway, all of the doors so far had been marked with simple room numbers nothing fancy. Also in the cortyard there would be someone sleeping it seemed. Specifically it was some kind of dragonoid digimon in a hoodie with some kind of magazine on his face, not the kind that children should see, but not something too dirty.
They'd probably never have seen or heard of him before whoever he was, they weren't given any specifics on who to meet or what their orientation instructor looked like either.
So should they continue on? Just check out the courtyard? Or wake it's snoring inhabitant?

As they walked through the hall, they only felt an uneasy emptiness as there seemed to be no sign of life at all. Where was everybody? Surely they would of ran into someone by now? But no. There seemed to be nothing but a hall of doors that split off into two paths.
Megan looked down both hallways as she began to fell her optimism starting to wane. She started to doubt that they would be able to find the Orientation Room at all, much less getting there on time. Now they were left with two options on where to go now. Down another hallway where the Orientation Room could possibly be at, or towards what seemed to lead to some type of courtyard. Feeling like continuing down the hallway would be their best choice, she began walking that direction, but stopped as she felt Kami tug on her jacket.
"I feel a digital presence coming from the courtyard." Kami explained before heading towards said courtyard, with Megan following shortly behind.
It wasn't long after they entered the courtyard when they saw what appeared to be some kind of digimon sleeping with a magazine over his head. They approached the figure with some caution as they had no idea if the digimon would happen to be violent or not. However, being the only living thing they saw since entering this building, they had to see if he could be of any help in finding where they needed to go.
The pair looked at each other for a split second to make sure they both on the same page. They then returned their attention to the sleeping as Megan's face soured a little as she got a look at the front cover. She did her best to retain her composure however as she coughed into her hand in order to get the sleeping figure's atfention.
"Excuse me sir. Sorry to wake you, but we're kind of lost. Could you, by any chance, give us directions to the Orientation Room?" Megan asked the sleeping digimon with Kami staying close to her side, preparing to intervene if things turn violent.

Guilix had been sleeping like a rock. It was sort of amazing how soundproof the glass around the courtyard had to be for the two not to have heard him earlier. Nonetheless their inquiry was enough to rouse his sleeping, "Gah can't a guy get some rest around h-ehh?", he groaned sitting up letting the magazine fall to the bench as he squinted a bit at the two in front of him.
Oh crap oh crap oh crap I fell asleep again didn't I? Damn this job why couldn't it be less boring?!
He seemed a bit surprised for a second, or was it nervous? It was hard to tell because he returned to his previous demeanor so quickly, keeping in character. "So you dweebs are searching for the orientation room eh?", he asked standing on the bench so he was able to look down on them. "So that must mean yer both noobs huh? Fresh meat? hehe You two look like you could barely hold yourself in a fight no matter how much you believed in whatever yer fighting for...", he scoffed a bit cynically crossing his arms.
"So tell me why exactly should I tell you where the orientation room is hmmmm? Tell me why I shouldn't just tell you dorks to get lost!", he shouted pointing down at them with a clawed finger.

Well... On the bright side, at least Megan managed to wake the sleeping dragon. However, he didn't seem to be all that happy about that as he began to do this whole tough guy act. Why was Megan not really surprised by that?
Megan looked up at Guilix as he stood on the bench, not really impressed with what he had to say. It felt like he believed he was in some kind of high school or something. Though seeing how most people who join DATS are usually in High School, or at least they are around that age, she guessed it would be easy for a digimon to make that mistake. Still though, she expected some kind of professional behavior for the people that work here, especially seeing how they are suppose to be the ones who keep the world safe from digimon attacks. Yet between the fact that no one was around to show them were the Orientation Room is at, and how this pokemon is acting, she was beginning to highly doubt that.
She flinched slightly when he shouted, more because of how loud he was then actually being intimidated by what he said. "Geez. There's no point to be so loud. I can hear you just fine." She said as she returned her gaze back to him, "Anyways, the sooner you tell us where the Orientation Room is at, the sooner we'll leave you alone and you can return back to sleeping... Or whatever else you were doing?" She finished with a slight hint of disgust on her face as she took a quick glance over at the magazine on the bench before immediately returning her gaze back at Guilix.

The reptilian squinted at the girl not really getting the answer he was looking for . "Gah your a dork I don't care about going back to sleep though nice try! I mean why should I even bother with you?! Hmmm? What makes you so special to become a DATS agent? What is the reason I should let you get to the orientation room!?", he asked obviously not taking deals an offers and bribes.
He stood adamant still on the bench, knowing well her age and not caring either way, he wanted to shout at her for talking that way to a superior officer but he'd break his cover. He then looked to the digimon at her side. "Oh and you two, what makes you so cool you got accepted?"\
He really shouldn't have fallen asleep, it seems all she could focus on was that magazine so he blew a fireball at it without looking away from the duo and incinerated it with a bit of a blast, nothing too much, he didn't want to ruin the bench.

Megan didn't like this guy. That was for certain. And his attempt at trying to get rid of the magazine did not help him. Why was he so interested in why she was chosen to become a DATS ageant anyways?
She turned to look at Kami, noticing the subtle changes in his posture that warned her that he was on high alert. It didn't seem like he took that sudden fire blast well, even if it was at a magazine. "Kami, calm down. There's no need to start a fight." She signed to him.
Kami looked over at her, then back at the reptile digimon, then back at Megan before taking a deep breath and relaxing just a little bit. "I don't like this guy." He signed
"Me neither, and I doubt he'll actually help us even if we answer his questions."
"What questions?"[/i] Kami signed curiously.
"He wants to know why we were chosen to become DATS ageants and why he should let us get to the orientation room. And I honestly don't see a reason why he should help us."[/color]
"Wouldn't it be part of his job to help us."[/i]
"I doubt it. And I doubt us signing back and forth like this is going to help matters much."[/i] Megan looked over at Guilix, then back at Kami. "So what should we do? Entertain him, and hope he will actually help us? Or should we just leave and go back to trying to find the room on our own?"[/i]
"I don't really know. Personally, I would like to get away from this guy as soon as possible, but if you think he'd might actually help us. Then you should try answering his questions, and see what happens? Just know that if he tries anything funny, I will send his data back to the digital world personally."[/i]
Megan nodded as she turned to face Guilix again. "Before you ask, Kami is deaf. So I was relaying your question to him, among other things. Now if you must know why we were so special to become DATS agents, it's not because of our experience or our skills. It's because we actually want to help people and digimon, something you probably don't even care about." She told Guilix with her arms crossed, seeing how exactly the lizard would react.

"Hmph", he hmphed as he watched them sign and move their hands around squinting. He was pretty sure he knew what they were doing. Yea it was obvious, some weird made up human trick obviously, but he wouldn't butt in, he'd let them have their imaginary talk.
"Deaf eh? Well then I'll make sure to enunciate more", he grumbled moving his lips more exaggerated, though being a dinosaur it wasn't probably too helpful. But still Guilix listened to what they had to stay and stood there on high. Why exactly was he so adamant on getting that answer? Could these dweebs really not see it yet.
And then he got his answer.
The reptile smirked at their claim and their hostility toward him, they weren't afraid and they had conviction. "Heh you got spunk kid, finally something about you I can respect... anyway If you must know where the orientation room is, you're in it. This courtyard is used for orientations, of which you just gained the right to have... wait did I say that right? ", he mumbled his own words to himself for a second feeling like he jumbled a bit at the end.
"Gah well anyway yea, You answered good enough for me so you get to have your orientation by me! The commissioner of DATS! Guilix the ChibiGrowlmon! Hope you enjoyed my masterful acting!", he grinned still standing on the bench now that this whole thing had been revealed, or so It seemed.

Megan just stood there, her arms crossed and a defiant look in her eye as she listened as the lizard talk. This quickly turned into a look into a look of slight confusion when he told her that this was the orientation room, which then changed to an expression of worry as she connected the dots while Guilix was double checking his words.
Wait... Don't tell me that this lizard is suppose to be the one giving us our orientation. She thought as she hoped this would happen to be some kind of trick. Her current impressions of him were far from flattering. Though, now that she thinks about it, it made sense why he asked her that question from earlier.
Things only seemed to get worse as he confirmed that he was, in fact, the one going to give them their orientation. Not only that though, he also claimed to be the commissioner of DATS who was merely acting. Megan was very skeptical when she heard this, and wasn't quite sure she had heard him correctly. She relayed the information to Kami to find that her partner shared her skepticism.
"How do we know your actually the Commissioner of DATS and this isn't some kind of an act now?" Megan asked with a distrustful look in her eye. After what they have seen from this lizard, Megan wasn't going to take any chances that this was some kind of prank or something more sinister.

"What do you mean how are you supposed to know?! Isn't It Obvious!?", he shouted a bit miffed these ingrates didn't believe his claim. Though to be honest it wasn't ennntirely true. "Gah well I probably should have brought my badge with me but oh well I'm the Commissioner!", he continued to cement his claim with no evidence whatsoever... until suddenly.
"Aww come on guilix, you know that's not true!"
A voice? But from where?!
It seemed it wouldn't be long before that question was answered as suddenly a new character appeared, falling in with a flip to land beside the bench, standing taller than Guilix even with the aid of the seat he stood on. He was donned in full DATS uniform but his seemed a bit, different, having touches of silver and green to it... along with the fact that he was wearing a Camo shirt underneath and cargo shorts it was quite the interesting getup.
"Gah Boss?! Where the heck did you come from?!", Guilix asked shocked it seemed as he looked around for where his tamer may have leaped from exactly to land where he was.
"Greetings Recruits! Hope this little dragon isn't going to hard on ya!", the new man smiled quite the smile, his grin seeming to sheen even in the shaded light of the courtyard.
"LITTLE?!", Guilix fumed.
"Yes you see he ment to say, Co-Commissioner for I Am Joshua Sparks! His partner and fellow Co-Commissioner of DATS!", all in all the way he carried himself made him seem almost like an anime character.

Megan took a step back as Guilix shouted at her for not believing that he is not the Commissioner. He tried to go on to tell her that what he said was true, but Megan wasn't going to believe him without any solid evidence. Then, out of nowhere, a voice called Guilix on his claim, unnerving Megan in the process. Before she could even begin to see where the voice was coming from, a figure landed right beside the bench and just a few feet from Megan, nearly causing her to lose her footing from shock. Kami, who was usually pretty good at being completely aware about his surroundings, was even more so surprised as he didn't even get any hint of the man being in the room til he jumped from some unknown perch and landed without so much as breaking a sweat.
As Megan took a quick second to catch her breath, she looked over the man that had just appeared in the room. He seemed to be young man in his late teens and was about an inch taller then her. His uniform indicated that he was a member of DATS along with how he seemed to carry himself. Megan also couldn't help, but notice how Guilix called this man boss, making her think that this man was the true Commissioner. That proved to only be half true as the man stated he and Guilix were Co-Commissioners.
"Uhh... Nice to meet you Joshua. I'm Megan and this is Kami." She said, introducing themselves to the man that had seemingly dropped from the sky unscathed. While she couldn't be completely sure that what Joshua just said was true, he did come off as alot more trustworthy compared to Guilix.
Kami meanwhile, was looking up in the sky trying to figure out where this new man had exactly come from. Surely there must of been some kind of perch or trick the young man had used in order to drop down like he did without hurting himself.

There was nowhere he could have leaped from unless... the roof? but.. no way! He'd smile at the girl happy to see her height too. "Ah you're the new recruits, I hope my partner here didn't give you too much trouble! And It's great to see someone my height finally, haha usually talking to recruits gives me a crick in the neck but I probably should expect it at my height!", his grin was uncanny unfaltering and in a way warming. It was such sharp contrast to Guilix's scowl how could these two be tamer and partner.
"Before you ask Boss I got her to answer the question"
"Oh", he turned to look at his digimon then back to the girl."you did Guilix? What was her answer?"
"I don't remember something deep or .. whatever, you know how they usually are."
If Kami were to look at the belt of the Human under his DATS coat he may catch a glimpse of an odd looking digivice. That is if he decided to gander that way. It wasn't a normal tamer's digivice, it looked more like a Spirit Wielder's Device.
"Haha oh Guilix what am I going to do with you... I guess just take your word for it that these two will make fine additions to our amazing organization! So I guess that means it's about time your orientation actually began."

As Kami looked up, he could not see where Josh had come from. The only apparent option was that he jumped off the roof, but that would be impossible. With how Josh landed, he would have at least broken his legs from falling at that height and the teen seemed to be standing without a single problem whatsoever. Which meant unless Joshua sometype of superhero or was wearing the longfall boots from Portal, the roof was not a possible point of entry. Which still beg the question, what was?
Kami thought about it for awhile, coming up with a few of hypothesis on how the teen did it. One of the more likely scenarios involved Josh using a rope to move a couple floors above there heads. Then he would drop down like he did, and while they were all distracted, someone would remove the rope. It did have it problems however, like what the rope could possibly be tied, or how it was remove without any of them noticing. This is why Kami didn't truly like magic tricks all that much. Either he would be able to see right through the illusion, or get incredible frustrated that he can't.
Sighing, he looked back towards the others as they seemed to be chatting about something. As they did, his eyes caught sight of something inside his jacket. A D-Tector digivice. Did that mean that the teen in front of them was a Spirit User? That could explain a way how Josh could have jumped off from the roof and landed without any injury, though it was still a longshot. It did strike him as strange though as he believed the teen and Guilix were a tamer pair, but apparently not. Guess that's why one shouldn't just assume such things.
Megan listened as Joshua and Guilix talked to eachother. It was obvious to her how close they were to each other as they interacted. Guilix seemed to be the jerk of the pair as he made a smart comment about her response to her question as if she wasn't right there, yet he still seemed very loyal to his tamer. Josh, meanwhile, just seemed to be alot nicer when compared to his partner. He seemed to be the type that just rolled with punches and didn't let anything take him. Atleast, that's what Megan's impressions of the two at this point.
"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea." Megan responded when Joshua informed her that it was time for their orientation to begin.

Josh noticed the digimon the girl had was looking around curiously and examining things, even sneaking a glance under his coat, but it was fine, even admiral by josh to examine your surroundings, especially when unfamiliar and with someone you are just meeting.
Always analyze the situation.
"I'm so glad to have some new recruits, it's been a while since I've got to give somebody the run-round.", Josh grinned and would start to walk off gesturing them to follow. Guilix would decide to stay behind and just hop back up on the bench, pulling out a different magazine, and if they were to inspect it would seem this one wasn't dirty.
"You go on ahead boss, I already did the fun part the rest is boring", he claimed, licking a claw to aid in turning a page of the digimon magazine.
"Okay Guilix but your missing out on an adventure!", Josh chuckled teasingly but Guilix just squinted back making the human laugh. "Alright then, come along recruits, I'll give you a tour of the base! Feel free to ask any questions along the way!", he gave a nod to them to follow along as he'd head out into the hall.
