Round 1 L. Bracket: Stardust in the Night [Cion vs. Beverly]

Well... this had certainly not been something she had expected, and an aspect of the tournament she would have liked to have known beforehand. After all, Cion still had a promise to fulfill, which was having dinner at a rather simple restaurant for Logan's sake. While the little Offmon and her brother Owen and the Gaomon were surely continuing to support her vociferously, she could only imagine the disappointment in her cutie-pie's mind caused by the delay. Regardless... to honor the organization she belonged to to the best of her abilities, she had to give it everything she got. Neither winning nor losing, but glory were her drive in this competition.

Glad to have permission to utilize her full prowess, the now ascended CyberSagitamon entered the medium-sized arena made out of solid paving. She female mercenary did not know much of her adversary, except her name and that the both of them were bound to clash with the strength of digimons of the Mega level. As before, her inherent nature as a supporter and disruptor, as well as marksmon, carried aspects with them which put her at a disadvantage depending on the enemy she faced. In case of Ban the Leomon... a single misjudgment after a battle of attrition had been enough to end the fight.

Yet with a great arsenal at her disposal, Cion felt confident that she could take on her opponent in whatever form her opposer was going to face her. Calmly, the fully armored, vulpine future-soldier walked towards the middle of the ring, her large cloak of radiant blue binary code gently swaying in the mild winds of the battlefield. No matter the shape of Beverly, she behaved with grace and integrity in mind, bowing to her out of respect and the hopefully mutual wish to inspire the masses.

"Let us fight to the best of our might." The CyberSagitamon Huntress Mode spoke with utmost esteem in her semi-synthetic, mature voice, faintly muffled by the helmet which covered her head and muzzle. Only the glow of her bestial, cyborg-esque golden eyes behind the visor showed an aspect of the futuristic combatant's real appearance... although attributes of armor were very much inherent to specific forms of digimons.

A Witchmon having transformed into a Lilithmon, or Laylamon as some tended to refer to it... so that was going to be her opponent. Fragile, disruptive, deceptive - it was almost like looking into a mirror, though the reflection show was vitiated. The thought was not meant to be an insult, but simply a statement of facts. Her adversary's nature was that of a nightmare soldier, which were masters of deception and burst damage, but also impairing their enemies. It was not too different from the CyberSagitamon, although she preferred to be more open with her methods. Imposing attrition and exasperation, those were her key powers as a supported and battle controller.

Delighted by the Demon Lord's untypical yet all the more enchanting courtesy, Cion carried no other thought but one of agreement. "Indeed, let us." The vulpine future-soldier approved, slowly turning away from Beverly as to get to the correct spot for the match to begin. Expecting her temporary rival to do the same, giving her just enough time to prepare herself out of positive comity, it was not long before the armored marksmon started the battle - unlike the last match fate granting her a small boon.

With nothing else than a snap of her vested talons, the entire arena changed into a battlefield which suited her better than paving made out of stone. Covered entirely in a blue glow, it assumed faint textures of computer chips as microscopic entities similar to golden fireflies swarmed the Colosseum, manifesting themselves out of nothing but Cion's might. Although radiant, almost elysian in its aesthetics, it was far from a view the Lilithmon could enjoy for long. For as the ascended CyberSagitamon got engulfed in an aura of azure protection, it gnawed at her opponent's stamina like a leaching sickness finally spreading in the host's body.

There was a moment of silence and motionlessness in which the mercenary of P.R.O.F.I.T. did not move even an inch, giving Beverly sufficient time to get 'familiar' with her slowly encroaching bane. However, this was a fight for honor and the entertainment of spectating masses, which meant keeping them waiting for longer than necessary was not advised. Hence it was with lightning reflexes that she drew her futuristic anti-material rifle, firing a rapid bolt of data at her opposer's chest which would solidify upon impact - not moving from her current location.
