The Fallen Captain [Plot - 0/1]

There it was again. More speak of him being the corrupt one. Yet, it was evident by his very appearance who was the more deluded. Kajunemon shook his head, not speaking but rather watching, his movements becoming more rigid and... machine-like. Not to say they weren't before, but now it was as if something took hold. Suddenly he pointed his sword and called out.
Kajunemon didn't escape by any means. The attack was so powerful that, despite missing the initial strike, the shockwave sent the Ronin flying several meters backwards, at first tumbling end over end before catching him self with his sword and slowing to a halt. He felt that one. His entire body smoked as electricity still escaped his body. His vision doubled and his body ached. Keeping his sword firmly planted in the ground, the Fox kept to his knee. Not recovering as he intended to catch a breath, but he felt it was no use. That attack was much more than he anticipated.
Despite that, however, he did feel strength return. Slowly, but surely. He would have to rest for a few seconds, before acting, though. Or... so it would appear. He wobbled a little as he stood, pulling his sword and wincing as he did. He then sheathed it and closed his eyes, appear to rest for a bit longer as he'd listen, rather than see. To the Datamon watching, it would appear as the fox was giving in, and to the TigerVespmon, it would appear his opponent was taking a moment for reprieve. No indicators of an attack or retaliation. Just the Ronin standing with his hand resting on his hilt and his eyes closed. He'd wince as he take deep breaths in, even he was unsure if that was real or not.
Perhaps the TigerVespmon would taunt him... maybe even mock his foe. Maybe he'd want to end it personally and stick a blade clean through the fox's gut. Maybe he'd just fry him from where he stood. Either way, it appeared that victory was in the Corrupt Captains grasp.
It looked like the fox was ready to accept his end.

Insufficient?
As the bright blast faded in front of the TigerVespamon, the machine was somewhat taken aback by the fact that his opponent was merely taken down to a knee. In this case, the machine had expected the attack would either be entirely ineffective, or more than enough to fully incapacitate the target. Yet there the Ronin was, slowly trying to compose himself, purposefully sheathing his sword as he tried to recuperate energy. Perhaps there was a trick the Ronin was trying to pull, or perhaps he had truly run out of steam.
The machine, however, did not move for several seconds. After the massive surge of energy that made up Mjolnir, the machine's joints started to spark, the blades even giving a flicker. Overloaded like this, he couldn't dash or run, or even charge a ranged attack. He was forced to walk, mechanical footsteps clicking against the ground as he slowly approached his target.
In this interval, though, the Datamon saw an opportunity: rather than bolt away, the ultimate sprang out on wiry legs, landing just a few feet left of the Kajunemon! "Don't blow me away!" With nothing but that one warning, two cords would extend from the Datamon's side - if allowed, they would pierce, one into the side of his back, and the other into the shoulder of his drawing arm. Aside from an initial 'pinch' there would be no damage from this...
... And, more importantly, the Kajunemon would feel its muscles 'loosen up', as the effects of the electricity started to taper off! The Datamon, siphoning this energy, gave a robotic whisper. "I apologize for this. I never meant for my employee over there to get this far gone... but the D-Reaper has a weakness in this regard."
What would that be? "It has an absolute range. Don't know how far it goes out, but if you manage to lure him out to its outskirts, then kick him across the horizon, he might fall out of the core's influence. Of course, protect yourself first, but..."
He grit his teeth, so to speak. "... I need a specimen to research this."

Well, this was unexpected.
The whole reason Kajunemon was in this fight had arrived, but not to harm, rather to sustain. A sharp, but not unbearable, prick found itself in the fox's side and with it, a prevention to the 'taser' effect the attack had. Kajunemon exhaled in a very satisfied grunt. It was like pressure was finally relieved off his entire body. He would break his moment of respite, the feint fading as the Datamon interrupted it. He was unsure if he should strangle the android or thank him, either way, he'd heed his suggestion.
"Very well, just tell me how far... Also I need you to not interfere unless I ask. I may have been hurt, but I was not done. Should he have attacked me, I would have cleaved him in two."
He'd wince as the Datamon would eventually remove the probe, sighing as he'd ready his sword yet again, the goal was to coax the TigerVespmon into another clash, except with the renewed vigor, he'd simply dodge and dance backwards, side stepping and moving as though he was a dancer, only using the blade to 'direct' the arc waves around him. The Corrupt Captain could deny the engagenment, but there was little reason to, his foe was just as battle scared as him and looked to be waning just as much. Occasionally he'd run backwards, keeping the TigerVespmon engaged by swiping at him a few times. He'd do this until the Datamon told him it was far enough. Once there, he'd attempt to flip over the TigerVespmon and take a slight hop backwards, then would call out;
"Warrior's Fury!"
With the sound a twisting flames, the Ronin aimed to landed two solid twirls on the TigerVespmon as each attack would send him reeling backwards, and at the end of his spin, he'd slam his sword into the ground, giving a very slight pause before a massive repulse escaped the center of the blade that aimed to knock the TigerVespmon clean from the area the Datamon warned.
Hopefully now, there would be an end to this conflict.
[Activate Warrior’s Fury: With a slight hop backwards, Kajunemon reels into a fiery double spin before slamming their sword into the ground and creating a powerful sphere of fire and light.]

"Correct. A sheathed blade can be drawn at a much faster speed than an unsheathed one. Had I simply attacked, I would have been destroyed."
Had... had the TigerVespamon even thought that far ahead? With a 'tsk', the more animated Datamon drew back his cords, slowly stepping back towards the crags. "If you move out more than a half mile and the effect still persists, don't bother trying to save him. Even if you destroy him, the captain will thank you for it in the end." With that last addendum, the Datamon once more retreated, the mechanical bee once more.
Kajunemon was refreshed, and the static that sprang from the TigerVespamon's joints calmed down, fully recovered from the aftereffects of Mjolnir. Once more, he took his stance, standing several yards away from the other combatant. Allowed time to further recuperate, his blades once more sparked with 'Protocol: Overcharge' As anticipated, the machine type making his approach - but, this time, his blades didn't even meet a draw! Renewed from the Datamon, the warrior's feet probably felt much lighter, allowing him to easily perform such feats...
... But it wasn't as if the TigerVespamon couldn't compensate himself! To create the 'impact' needed for the electricity to jump to the target, the mechanical monster started 'bouncing' his blades off the ground, burnt peat moss searing as the energy would arc once more against Kajunemon's armor! Soon enough, the Datamon would give his call: "Now or never!"
And with one flip, and one explosion - the TigerVespamon's own swing-back coming within a mere inch of Kajunemon's neck - the monster was blown backwards, far away from the point the machine had indicated! Even with fire, though, the force was intentionally more concussive than damaging, his heated armor steaming as the TigerVespamon tried to pick himself back up.
"..."
Once more, he stood, blades sparking, as he faced the Ronin. "... TigerVespamon. Model 8,927, apologizes. This is outside the Reaper's range." But he stepped forward, a clear threatening poise to his step. "Regardless. The processes have been reprogrammed. Retain Red Mode. Destroy all threats to the D-Reaper." With one 'click', he pressed the two 'hilts' of his blades together, now wielding the weapon more akin to a pole-arm.
"Destroy me. Or you will be destroyed."

With a few catches of lightning here and there, the fox had definitely danced his way through that storm. Though he was touched, he was not harmed... not to the point he was affected much, anyway. He rotated his sword as he watched the TigerVespmon bring his swords together and create a pike of sorts. Unusual, but not a threat anymore than the swords. Unless it harnessed some other sort of power.
"There will be no saving. I promised you death, and death you shall receive."
Kajunemon did not wait, he'd slide and flip over the first few attacks, then meet the TigerVespmon with his own slashes and swipes, making sure he continued to push further and further from the range of the D-Reaper. Each spin and twirl he could feel those familiar energy waves push into him, but they weren't unbearable. Kajunemon wondered if it was because the 'range' or because he himself had grown used to it. Either way, as each swing of the TigerVespmon's blade was met with the Ronin's own cursed weapon he'd watch and wait until he found an opening. If it presented itself, Kajunemon would tuck his blade, where it looked as if he were going to parry and hoped the TigerVespmon overextended due to the sudden lack of something to hit. If that happened, he'd seize the opportunity and plunge his blade forward, hoping to insert the blade under TigerVespmon's armpit, shoving in an upward motion toward the Corrupt Captain's head. The blade itself would not reach the head, but it would easily ignore whatever plating was in the way and, being a joint, would likely meet little resistance.
That's assuming Kajunemon got the opportunity. If not, he'd continue his clashing dance and move further and further away from the D-Reaper's influence. If at any time the TigerVespmon, the original one, managed to break through, Kajunemon would waste no time in exploiting that as soon as it became clear. Otherwise, he'd have to work his way into weakening his foe even further.
He wondered how much longer this corrupted victim could hold out!

If Viktor was expecting an easier fight simply because this was beyond the range of the D-Reaper, he was going to be in for an unpleasant surprise. If anything, the machine's prowess only increased when he was left to his own vigor. Part of it was due to the fact that the machine was now using a stance he was more comfortable with, but more than that, the machine Digimon's own pride had settled in:
Kajunemon had just declared this a match to the death, and the machine would meet the challenge head-on!
As time went on, and as Kajunemon's blade would draw against the polearm, he would likely note that the sword was more easily pushed off to the side, 'screened away' by the flat of the staff. This made it much easier for the TigerVespamon to step closer, and even counter with an attempted slash across Viktor's chest! In a mere show of weapons, the mechanical monster actually seemed to have a slight edge over Kajunemon's reach - this supposed opening, either by the machine making a misstep or by the D-Reaper's influence falling away, would not be so easily obtained. In fact, the electrical warrior was looking for his own openings, ones that he would be sure would show up over time as more and more of his current flowed into the fox's body!
Tch... don't know what that fox is all about, but if thinks he can handle the Captain like that... At a distance, the Datamon gritted his nonexistent teeth. In a sheer battle of attrition, left at this pace, it looked uncertain if Kajunemon could keep up forever!

Kajunemon was a great many things. He was fast and he was strong. But, probably most important for this fight, he was resilient. Not only was his form undaunted by the surge of electricity, but the TigerVespmon wrongly assumed the polearm was anything more than a tool. Sure, it gave him reach. But in a game of dancing blades, it was a marginal advantage at best. The fox would simply dodge a few swipes, parry others, then continue his search for that opening as their movements would be no doubt too fast for the Datamon to properly witness. Eventually, the TigerVespmon would catch the Ronin slightly off guard. So much so that it forced him to backflip backwards and pressing a hand on the wound. It didn't cut too deep, but it was enough for him to back off for a slight second. It was time for a second wind.
He brought his hand out as his tails flared up, forming a perfect circle around him yet again as his fist ignited with an even more intense flame than before. With a sigh, he looked up and blinked forward toward the opposing swordsman. There was little hesistation in his mind that the TigerVespmon, with all his pride, would take this almost reckless 'opening'. But that was the point. After all that clashing, dodging and parrying, Kajunemon was heating his metal. Each strike left his armor glowing red, just as the electricity coursed through him. He'd angle his shoulder to catch the brunt of the swing and punch not the TigerVespmon, but the polearm itself! Should he land a clean strike, the dangerously high levels of heat exuding from his fist coupled with the sheer force of a punch from a Super Mega, should break the weapon. Sure, the strike from the polearm would completely break off his armor, which was made of the same material as the TigerVespmon, but Kajunemon seriously doubted he was expecting an attack on his weapon, at very least, it would disarm the Corrupt Captain.
From there, Kajunemon would meet him with fists only. Showing that the reach of his polearm was truly moot as he'd keep close to him, attempting to deliver blow after blow to his helmet. The impact of metal not even affecting him as he'd expertly bob and weave around his enemy, be it his own fists or weapon. The last thing this prideful digimon wanted was to meet Kajunemon in his world. But, if he was truly as prideful as he seemed, he'd want to best his enemy in his own turf. But even if he didn't, Kajunemon could easily bring the sword out to protect himself and return their war of attrition.
If he thought the Ronin would tire out, he was in for quite the surprise.

Indeed, it wasn't just bluster: that 'slight advantage' against two skilled opponents allowed the machine to score a blow - however light - on the Ronin's chest, so much so that he was forced to disengage himself from the machine. One might think that momentum had already shifted to the machine's favor, but it was doubtful that the Ronin would allow it to end so easily.
Using the space he was suddenly afforded, the Ronin once more let the flames around his tails ignite. It wasn't just pride - the TigerVespamon had seen this effort before, and he already knew what kind of opening it was. It would have been easy to think that a similar approach would have worked again... but at this point, the TigerVespamon knew that he had to try something just a touch different. Afforded by reach, the TigerVespamon could have easily stepped forward and struck at his chest, but the Ronin already knew how to make those openings. This, the machine did something he hadn't done through the entire fight:
He threw the polearm! Stepping forward as if to charge in, the spear flicked slightly off to the side, before sparking with electricity. This empowered weapon tore forth with one throw, aiming to try and pierce right down the center of the Ronin! Even if the spear was struck, the electricity would once more arc, and strike heavily against the Ronin's exposed armor and fur.
In fact, if the spear was deflected, the machine would kick forth, and floating with his wings, try and drive his elbow right into the Ronin's chest! Even if the opening was a bait, the machine looked to be expending all of his options to end this fight in this moment!
TigerVespamon used 'Protocol - Overcharge'!

Of all the things Kajunemon expected, he did not expect him to throw his weapon. As sudden and surprising as it was, Kajunemon quite easily deflected it. But it did not go without a price, it effectively sent more powerful arcs of energy though Kajunemon, on top of that; TigerVespmon rushed just after, despite this even more unexpected assault, the Ronin managed to tuck a hand just before the impact. It wasn't enough to stop it outright, but it negated the attack from doing some serious damage. The rush was enough to send them both tumbling backwards, thus causing Kajunemon's sword to pop from his belt, and slide across the uneven terrain of the wasteland.
The fox would then place his free hand behind the TigerVespmon's neck and effectively try to throw him off! The momentum alone should have been enough, but Kajunemon added his own force behind it to ensure he accomplished his desired effects. Should it not work, however, the TigerVespmon would find a the fox repeatedly striking him in the temple and flanks of his body. Eventually, they two would be forced to break their clinch and would stand opposing each other. Too far from their weapons to recover them, but close enough to continue their engagement.
Kajunemon spit as he touched both fists to his own muzzle tucking his head and rolling his shoulders. Eyes locked on his opponent as he kept his feet and shoulder equidistant apart. He swayed slightly left to right, the stance clearly showing his experience as a fighter.
He'd finally speak as he'd keep his guard up, "A shame you fell to your corruption. You might have a good companion otherwise."
Sure, this TigerVespmon was indeed his foe. But despite how much he might have respected the Captain, he was too far gone now. He needed to be saved, and Kajunemon knew the only way to do this was to end his life and release his data from the D-Reaper.
"Whatever led you to this point... whatever semblance of TigerVespmon is left... it's all pointless now. Your corruption ends here."
Kajunemon grabbed the straps of his asymmetrical armor and let it fall with heavy clanks. With a popping of his neck and a stretching of his shoulder the fox would suddenly rush forward, attempting to deliver a flurry of combos to the opposing fighter's jawline and midsection. Sure, the armor was there, but The Ronin was tough, and his own gauntleted fists ignored the plating. He'd continue his combo, effectively bobbing and weaving under and around any counter attacks before trying to hook under one attack and shoulder flip the TigerVespmon several meters further away from their weapons!
This fight, as intense as it was, just got that much more desperate. Kajunemon feared, however, what the Corrupt Captain's true motives really were and what failure spelt for not just him, but the Dark Area as a whole.

Well, one way or another, it had finally come to this. With TigerVespamon's spear wildly deflected away and the Ronin's own sword clattering off in its sheath, the two empowered warriors were left face-to-face. Pushed away from his position over the Kajunemon, the mechanical digimon raised his own arms, covering his own chin with his fists as he led slightly with his right foot. Despite such a gruff stance, the electrical swordsman understandably had rather light footing, easily able to shift from one side to the other.
In this tense moment, neither made a move. Perhaps they were both recuperating whatever energy they could, or perhaps both knew that the next few minutes would be the last in this fight. As the Ronin's words sank in, the metallic warrior met the Kajunemon eye to eye, a small nod given to his opponent.
"Come on, then. Sever my ties with that abomination, if you can."
With Kajunemon giving his final preparation, just as the Ronin would charge in, TigerVespamon would be quick to follow with the same approach. Like this, it would be likely for both of them to have their shoulders come in contact with that heavy charge. Even if it didn't, the TigerVespamon would be quick to match his opponent: where the Kajunemon would be aiming high, the mechanical digimon moved to aim low, aiming to abuse the prior length of the battle with several blows to his opponent's core. The machine was able to sway and dodge a number of hits to its head, but a few would manage to strike home on the center of its face. Tucked low and inside, however, unless the blows had a bit of wind-up to them, they would find themselves dulled against the metal frame.
With a hit or two, though, something 'sparked' in the TigerVespamon's head:
'Everyone, I'd like to introduce you to our last recruit.
Heh! This guy's got more snark than me, in the end!
Well, even if we don't see eye-to-eye...
All that on your own? Well, I guess that settles it, 'Captain!'
Those voices, and the points in time they linked to, sparked up in his head with each swing, at least for a while. But soon enough, the reality had set in again: it was just him and the Ronin, standing here in tthe wasteland. With that intended shoulder flip, the TigerVespamon would try and bring his arm around the Ronin's back, instead trying to land a vicious headbutt against the regal warrior!
If this is my last... it will be without regret!

Things now were more desperate than ever. The two were clearly winded in their much slower, much more methodical and deliberate strikes. Kajunemon's muscles begged for a break, burning as he threw punch after punch. But it wasn't enough for him to quit. His human side refused to give in. Something more drove him. This TigerVespmon's corruption was what stoked the fire within the Ronin. He needed to end this here and now. Then seek the source when he was able.
As Kajunemon attempted to shoulder flip the metallic digimon, the captain responded by catching the back of the fox's head. With a fist full of orange fur, he'd manage to catch the Ronin off guard, delivering that shell shocking head butt that caused Kajunemon to reel back. He took a moment to steel himself as he brought both arms around and attempted to deliver a powerful reverse kick into his foe's midsection. From there, he'd attempt to hop into the air and deliver a equally powerful Superman Punch, aimed squarely in the center of the Corrupt Captain's face. Should this land, his head would easily bounce off his helmet within its confines.
As they continued their brawl of skilled and precise punches and kicks, it would become evident that they were both becoming tired. Kajunemon's blows would still be felt, but now they'd come at a much slower pace. It would be no surprise to anyone viewing if they began to meet fist for fist, kick for kick until they were either huddling or standing guard from each other. Kajunemon's chest was rising and falling at a much more notable pace. He was unsure now how much longer, but despite this, his guard remained up, and his form was unbroken.
Through this, he'd wipe the trickling blood from his head and spit. There the two would stand, in this wasteland, on opposite ends of each side. Kajunemon couldn't help but think about this poor soul... how he might have been should he not be corrupt. How Kajunemon might have heeded him in his purist form.
But this wasn't the if... this was the here and now. The reality of the situation was that there would be only victor... one left standing.
Kajunemon would ensure that victor was him.
He brought his fist out yet again, forming the same fire around his fist and tails as he felt his body toil just to create the spark. He closed the the fire around his fist and held it with his free hand, then with a sudden vigor he rushed forward, aiming to punch clean through the TigerVespmon, roaring as he quickly closed the gap between the two.
This was his final solution. Kajunemon would be hard pressed to continue the fight, should he miss the attack. But... he did more than blindly rush... his approach was just as methodical as any other punch. It was time to end this once and for all!

Indeed, these two were at wits end. Already exhausted of most of their energy before, both the TigerVespamon and Kajunemon were running on the fumes of pride and purpose, respectively. Though the machine's headbutt rattled the Ronin's head, the return kick sent the TigerVespamon reeling backwards. From there, though, the machine managed to brace himself, ducking to the side to dodge the follow-up punch, moving to drive his fist deep into the fox's stomach as a counter!
It would proceed like this for a while: if for fatigue alone, larger blows were landing much easier for both sides, blood and oil spilling out on the dirt with each exchange. There was still no evidence that the machine had held back a single inch, nor did he hold any regret for going all-out... and soon enough, there they stood. Just a mere few feet away from each-other, both prepared their fists: the Kajunemon's sparked into a fierce flame, and the TigerVespamon's sparked to life with a powerful current.
Both fighters charged forward, ready to put their all in this last strike - but, at this critical moment, the built-up heat in TigerVespamon's armor finally took its toll! With a sharp 'snap', air started to hiss straight from his right leg, just as he pressed in to stride forward. The machine's forward momentum was toppled, merely bracing himself against Kajunemon's shoulder as that sickening sound popped up from below.
The machine's eyes flickered at that moment. With perhaps a surprising amount of force, the TigerVespamon would manage to push back, freeing himself from the Kajunemon's wrist... only to glance down at that damage. A moment later, he fell backwards, voice crackling as that hole started to widen, red data streaming up into the air from the wound.
"... That's it, then?" The machine's voice, still monotone as always, seemed to just have a hint of warmth to it. "Thank... you..."

The fight, as long and arduous as it was... finally came to an end. Kajunemon's head and cheek leaked blood as his freshly scarred body was covered in his foe's lifeblood. The oil slicked his chest and stomach, combining with his own blood and dust. His right hand covered in the same oil that coated his body and dripped into the same dust. The dust which the TigerVespmon returned to.
He gripped his arm, limping over to the body of the TigerVespmon as he held a hand out, stopping the leaking red data from returning to it's owner. His own data taking it to 'neutralize' it, as was the purpose of this form... but as soon as the red data ceased and the core began releasing into the air, Kajunemon would simply watch as it escaped into the air. Allowing the TigerVespmon his redemption. He would speak, dropping to his knees and holding his chest as the corrupted data coursed through him, panting between his words;
"You... are free from... your corruption. Go now... and return... pure."
He coughed slightly as his body treated the corrupted data as though the human immune system might a virus. The Vaccine data working it's way through and around, Kajunemon fell backwards, landing on his backside and wincing as he'd wait for the Datamon to approach. There... he'd continue to watch the data escape and return to the Village. He'd look to the Datamon;
"Hopefully... The Captain will remember... his old ways. Hopefully... he won't waste this second chance," Kajunemon winced as he leaned back even further, his aching body begging for a break as he shook his head, his tails reduced to just one, a personification of his exhaustion, "Can't... return to human form... Injuries are too great. I must rest as Kajunemon before I return."
He watched as what little light found it's way to them... as though Yggdrasil itself was seeing the Captain's safe return to the village. Perhaps Kajunemon would visit, perhaps, somehow, the Captain would remember and seek him out. But one thing was certain: The D-Reaper needed to end. It's corruption spread too far, and every fiber of The Ronin's being wanted nothing more than to vanquish it.

"Hmph... you do a lot of unnecessary things, you know that?"
Despite the grand display - and even the fragmented, careful absorption of pieces of TigerVespamon's data - the Datamon didn't seem to show a single bit of enthusiasm, sympathy, or concern for the Kajunemon's action. Crawling back up onto the battlefield with his several wires, the Datamon, settling on his own four feet, shook his head toward the fox. "Make no mistake. The choice to take and utilize the power given to him was his own choice. That it turned out this way is something that couldn't have been imagined. The only reason he wasn't freed in the end was the change to his programming..."
With a huff, the Datamon dug at the spot where TigerVespamon vanished. There, perhaps rather impossibly, the mechanical Digimon managed to dig up what looked like a flash-drive, yellow in color, with a lightning-bolt design. "Thought he might do something like that. Guess he's the Captain to the end, eh?" Clasping around the piece and storing it within his metal compartment, he gave a nod towards the fox. "Now c'mon, let's get the hell out of here. If one of those agents wanders around here, I don't think your one-tailed butt is going to stop 'em!"

With what felt like a second fight all it's own, Kajunemon winced as he pushed up, favoring his right side as he limped with the Datamon, rolling his eyes at the comment on his tails and backside as he adjusted his armor and clothing. The corrupt data still coursing through, but being taken care of as time went on;
"This one-tailed butt just saved you." he looked over to where TigerVespmon was, "Even if I wanted to, I don't think I could have loaded him... it might be one piloting, but there are two minds in this form." he grunted as he followed as closely to the Datamon as he could, recovering his sword in the process as the pair turned to leave the Dark Area, the fox in agreement that much to the metallic digimon;
"Terminus needs to know what happened here."
He wiped the blood from his brow and spit the same, rolling his neck as he felt his legs disagreeing with this movement. As they walked, Datamon would see Kajunemon pull the tabs on his armor and it simply whisk into nothing as his form couldn't hold the armor's integrity. Same went for his gauntlets and cauldrons, leaving only the pants and blood soaked bandages. Despite his weakness, he refused help to walk, and would only grunt and groan as he walked, sure medical attention was a possibility... but truthfully, the fox just needed a bed and some food. Though a trip to his favorite cat medic might not be a bad idea. The trick was finding her.
He'd look to the Datamon as they'd finally meet the edge of the Dark Area then look, leaning on a nearby wall as he'd move his sword to his back, easing the growing fatigue;
"I have a feeling this corruption with the D-Reaper has just started... perhaps me loading it will allow me to better understand it, then I can combat it. I will rest and heal, then continue to train. Something is egging me on... whispering to me."
It would have been uncanny to the Datamon how the fox suddenly stood upright and flicked his one tail, his voice losing it's regal, icey tone and shifting more to a grizzled Russian accented voice;
"The D-Reaper and I cannot co-exist." he drew heavy emphasis on the T, as if to vocalize his sudden anger and change in pitch. But just like that, the voice shifted to it's original;
"You've scanned my human form's digivice, despite you thinking I wouldn't notice. Which means you know how to contact me. If ever a threat arises from this foe... do not hesitate."
With that, the Fox limped off, going to find the first Inn he could, try to contact his on-call nurse-cat and sleep for six days. That fight was something he wouldn't forget anytime soon, and he truly wondered how much time he would actually get to rest.
