Ah, Sunday mornings. Fresh coffee, video games, eggs and toast for breakfast. Dante and Wormmon know how to kick back and relax. However, the dastardly duo are not at the house, enjoying their Sunday morning. Dante has canceled Wormmon's plans for another lazy Saturday, in search for treasure in the Digital World. They have journeyed to the ancient ruins in the Folder Desert. As the wind kicks up sand, Dante continues walking onward, with Wormmon riding along in his bag.
Dante is wearing appropriate clothing for this environment. He is wearing white and tan robes fit for the desert. Dante takes his scarf and puts it over his face, trying to keep the sand of out his eyes.
"How much longer? We've been traveling for hours."
"We should reach the ruins soon. Be patient."
"I've told you, patience is not one of my abilities. You know, we could be sitting around at home, lounging on the couch."
"Nothing ever gets accomplished if you don't get off your butt and do something once in a while. Do you really want to spend your whole life in front of the TV? There's the entire Digital World to explore. Just because we've been training for a couple years now doesn't mean that you can start slacking off now."
"Ya ya, hard work, perseverance, blah blah blah. Oh my Goddess! I forgot to record my favorite show before we left. Now how will I know what happens to the Real Housewives of Tacoma?"
"I can't believe you actually like those reality shows Judith watches. We're almost there. I can see some ruins up ahead."
Dante and Wormmon arrive at the ruins of an ancient civilization. Whatever caused this destruction, only the temple remains standing. Wormmon pops his head out of the bag to look around.
"Do you remember anything about this place from your time with the Dark Triad?"
"Not much. This place was already a pile of rubble before I started conquering territories. There's nothing of value here, it's a bad location."
"What about the temple? I've heard stories of great treasure inside."
"Whatever treasure that was there has probably long been stolen. We're wasting our time, let's just start heading back."
"Can you at least try to show some effort today?"
"Well what can I say? Your laziness rubbed off on me."
Dante approaches the entrance to the temple. He finds an unlit torch, wraps some cloth around it and lights it up. They venture inside the temple.
"Maybe you are right. This place looks abandoned."
Dante comes across a strange looking rune carved into the stones on the wall. It resembles the shape of some kind of ancient insect Digimon.
"Hmm, what's this?"
Dante unknowingly steps on a weight sensor slab on the floor. Suddenly one of the walls rotates back, revealing two rows of stone cylinders. Smoke begins to come out, flooding the room with smoke. Dante holds his arm over his face.
"This isn't good! Wormmon, cover your mouth."
Smoke continues to fill the room, hindering Dante's sight. He hears something crawling along the ground. Before he has a chance to react, an unknown Digimon leaps out of the smoke behind him and strikes him on the back with sharp claws, tearing right through his robes. Dante shrieks in pain and crouches down.
"Dante! Get out of here!"
Trying to recall the way they came in, Dante takes off running through the smoke. His wounds are too severe to run for long, and the lack of oxygen catches up to him. Dante collapses on the floor, the blood from his back seeping into the cracks between the stones. Whatever it was that attacked Dante snatches the bag that Wormmon is inside of, and heads further into the temple, leaving Dante for dead.
"Dante! Noooo!"
