It had been a few days since the digimon Caleb had come to call Oz hatched at the school, and in that time, the botamon had digivolved into a pagumon... but not before doing his damnedest to try and eat Caleb and his father out of house and home. Now here he was at the shop near his house, having to buy up some more food for dinner tonight, since what Oswald had deigned to leave them wouldn't exactly suit a meal. He had considered leaving the pagumon at home, but he didn't like the thought of leaving him out of his sight, so currently the purple creature was under strict instruction to stay in his shopping cart and look like a stuffed animal, under pain of not getting any dessert that night. Quite a disciplinarian, Caleb was. Hopefully no one from school saw him with what looked like a giant purple plush toy.
"Lets see." He mumbled, looking over the aisles. "Maybe a stew?" He mumbled to himself, starting to gather his ingredients. That would work. His dad had started working rather long hours at his new job, so something that Caleb could put on and leave for a while would probably work best for both of them.
"You know there's great food in the digital world." Oz supplied, not really taking the stuffed animal thing seriously. He was staying in the cart, at least. Ever since he digivolved, he had been rather chatty in between eating everything in sight. "But we don't have a lot of candy... hey can we get candy for dinner?"
"I thought told you to keep quiet." Caleb snapped at his partner, looking around to see if anyone had noticed. Thankfully it appeared they were still in the clear. "And I told you, I want to go to this... digital world, place, but not just yet. You said you'll get bigger and stronger soon, right? We'll wait until then." He said. One benefit of Oz's digivolution was that he had been able to explain a few things with his own mouth. Caleb did, in fact, find the idea of a whole other world fascinating, and already his curiosity was starting to pull him there. But if it was as dangerous as Oz made it sound, he was happy to wait. "And I might get you some candy if you stay put and stay quiet." He added decisively.
Oz grumbled, and suddenly hopped out of the cart! "Well I want some now!" He snickered, rushing off down another aisle.
"Oz!" Caleb hissed, leaving behind his cart and rushing off.
The runaway pagumon in question had found his way to some chocolate, and was currently in the process of, without even a hint of subtlety, devouring as much as he could. It was only a matter of time before someone caught sight of him.

Well, this was probably for the best, at least for Shi. Despite all the grand digital things he normally knows something as mundane as shopping was a welcomed breath of fresh air, despite two little annoyances constantly asking him to join in his walk to the store, got so bad he had to walk to one they didn't know, while leaving his partners at home probably wasn't the kindest thing it was better then being hidden behind them all day everyday, even trying to follow him to school.
"It's just because they care but seriously."
He muttered to himself simply assuring the thoughts he had about this were right, though he couldn't shake that feeling off, mostly because just up and leaving seemed like a rude thing to do, with that in mind he figured while he was here might as well go and get them some treat, with a semi-full basket he headed over to another aisle in order to find something sweet for them, what he instead found was more or less a problem of the digital variety as some digimon he didn't really recognize was busy devouring what some poor probably underpaid worker spent all day stacking. The sight was pretty sad indeed for sure.
"You know you're supposed to pay for that first right."
Yet Shi being Shi with an expressionless face and voice simply reacted as if this was all way too normal, walking over to the Digimon looking around a bit for anyone who might also see them. He held a little concern having no assist but he seemed confident in his approach that this was all fine.

Oz looked up at the human who now looked at him, puffing up his proverbial chest. The pagumon wasn't intimidating by any stretch of the imagination, but boy was he trying to be. "Make me!" He said, before going right back to eating. Caleb had told him that other humans might try and hurt him or take him away if he wasn't careful, but he didn't worry about it. What could some humans do to him?
Just then, in ran Caleb. "Oz, you can't just... uh oh." He said, seeing Shi. Shit, think fast! "Um... whoa, uh oh, looks like my, um... pet rabbit got into the chocolate!" He declared, realizing as he said it what an awful lie that was. Great, just great. He was a... tamer, or whatever, for only a week and a half and he already got found out. "Look, um... I can explain, this little guy is, um..." He was really considering just picking Oz up and bolting, but that would definitely look bad. Plus... well now he had to pay for all this chocolate. He'd save the pagumon is only to have the chance to wring his neck himself later.
Oz was unfazed as ever. "You should try this, Caleb!" He said, still not exactly grasping the concept of staying quiet. So one human sees him, it wasn't the end of the world.

Well, that was a response as the small little Digimon puffed up his chest in, what Shi assumed was, an attempt to intimidate all he could think about was how normal this had become for him as he simply put his hands in his pockets giving a light shrug at the idle threat.
"I'm not the one who'll make you, just figured you should know you're screwing someone over."
Speaking of screwing someone over, queue distraught probably tamer entering, he started firing off a few excuses at the teen for a bit before saying he could explain, without the explanation, While Shi did bite his tongue for a moment a bit curious as to what excuse he could think up for himself he didn't have it in him to let him be on the spot for much longer.
"It's fine, I know what a Digimon is, So instead of explaining you should probably drag him away from the candy. Got a bag or something to hide him in?"
Shi mentioned giving a small point at the Digimon, who seemed content with eating dollars worth of candy at a time. Were he his partner Shi'd probably of ax kicked him by now or something.

Caleb relaxed a bit when Shi said he knew about digimon. "O-Oh, so are you another tamer, then?" He asked. His eyes widened as he realized that he was still letting Oz go wild in the candy. "No, I was actually trying to pass him off as a stuffed animal." He said with a sigh. "He hates to go in my bag." He shot the pagumon a glare as he picked him up, looking over his chocolate covered face. Oh great, now he'd have to worry about getting him cleaned up too.
Oz didn't miss a beat, sticking his tongue out at Caleb. "It's to cramped, and dark. I wanna see whats going on!" He said, then looked at Shi. "Where is your digimon, I wanna meet 'em!" He declared, or rather demanded. Well, meet, challenge to a fight, they were really the same thing as far as he was concerned. He had digivolved he wanted to test his new form. Never mind the fact that he didn't even have limbs yet.
Caleb heaved a deep sigh, "I'm... really new at this." He explained weakly. Before they could say anything more, they would start to hear someone running over.
"What is going on over here?!" Shouted an employee.
"And now I'm dead." Caleb said, looking at the man as he rushed up, seeing the display in ruins, and chocolate on Caleb's hands.

Shi gave a small nod to the tamer part, though when he mentioned about the fact he was passing him as a stuffed animal Shi looked down for a second before he let out a small laugh. "I did the same when I got him, one of my partners is a bit like yours, hated my bag and jumped out first chance he got without fail." Shi mentioned trying to make Caleb feel a bit better about this, though he never had something this, open happen.
And again the little puffball demanded to Shi something else, by golly this little guy had spunk. Shi had a few other words to call it but spunk sounded nicer. "They aren't with me right now, though I might be inclined to take you to them if you quiet down till we do? They're pretty strong." Shi said offering a small proposal, after all, he wanted to help Caleb get out of this, might as well try his luck in bargaining with the Digimon. He just hoped the same line that worked on his partner worked on this Digimon.
Before Shi could offer a hand an employee came over, hopefully not the same one that set this up in the first place or else they'd really have it, without skipping a beat Shi turned around scratching the side of his head before talking. "Sorry, we came across this little accident on the Aisle. My friend tried to clean it up but just ended up getting it smeared on him, even got some on his toy too." Shi said not missing a beat with his words or his body language, he hoped that would be enough, and also that the tamer and Digimon duo would play along with this.

Well at least he wasn't the only one who had trouble keeping his partner under wraps. Though that did beg the question of what this guy's partners were like compared to Oz. Were all digimon this active, or did he just draw the short straw? More to the point, how did he wind up drawing said straw at all? Well, regardless, he doubted he would receive an answer on either question any time soon, so better not to dwell on it. This was his life now, he had to accept it. That appeared to be a theme, recently.
Oz seemed to be quite happy with the deal offered, and clammed up, not that Caleb was going to give him a choice. As the man ran up, he quickly put a hand directly over the pagumon's mouth. Problem number one solved, for now. With Shi's quick thinking, maybe he could deal with problem number two. "Y-Yeah. It looks like some kind of animal got in and ate it all. Whatever it was, poor thing is probably a goner after eating all this chocolate." He said, giving the act the best shot he could.
The employee sighed, looking down at the chocolate and finding it did, in fact, look like something small had torn into it. But what could eat this much? He shook his head, then looked at Shi and Caleb. "Well thank you for trying to clean this up, but I can take it from here. If you want I can get you some wipes for you and your toy?" He offered, raising an eyebrow at a boy Caleb's age holding a stuffed animal.
Caleb quickly shook his head. "No, it's fine. I'd just like to check out at this point." He said, glancing to make sure his cart was still there. Thankfully it and all the ingredients were right where he left it.

Shi almost let out a sigh of relief after the employee seemed to buy his lie, though he didn't because that would probably seem a bit odd to do right after, instead Shi just backed up towards the same cart Caleb seemed to look at. "Yeah, it'll be fine, probably best just to get back quickly and wash it there." Shi pointed out, chocolate normally left a pretty bad mark if it sat for long, not that the thing in question would have to worry.
Though Shi did manage to take a small bar of chocolate with him and put it in his basket, after all, he was still there to shop. Though while doing so he took a quick glance at the Pagumon finding he didn't even try to talk, though with Caleb's hand in front of his mouth it was a futile effort, either way, still, Shi did make a promise.

Thankfully the employee didn't question them further, and the three of them would make it to the cart. "Alright, got out of that mess somehow... thank you for the help." Caleb said to Shi. "Oh, I'm Caleb Morita, by the way. I'd offer to shake your hand, but ah." He held up his hand, which was currently covered in the remains of the chocolate. He set Oz back down in the cart, glaring at him. "Now this time stay put and stay quiet." He said firmly.
"But he said he would let me meet his partners!" The Pagumon said, looking at Shi, "You promised, now you gotta do it!" He demanded.
Caleb sighed dramatically, then looked to Shi. "I'm sorry, but he'll be even more unbearable unless he gets what he wants." He said. "Would you mind if we did a little meet up for them after I get these groceries back to my place? I don't live too far from here." He said, hating that he was putting this guy out, especially after they only just met. Of course there was a selfish motive to this too. Given that he was so new to this, and Shi seemed far more experienced, he wanted to see if he could pick the man's brain on being a tamer, and what he could expect from this new life down the line.

After making it to the cart Shi gave a small sigh of relief while Caleb thanked him, though the teen simply raised his hand waving away the thanks. "Don't mention it, tamers gotta look out for one another right? I'm Shi Namika." Shi looked down at the chocolate before nodding, after all, he really didn't want his own hands dirty.
Shi looked away from the Pagumon for a sec scratching his chin, technically speaking Shi didn't really promise anything, but the demands have been said and with a dramatic sigh it seems that Shi was stuck showing off his partners. "I don't mind, you'd be surprised how many times something like this has happened to me, helping with hiding Digimon, should start charging by now." Shi said as a small joke, while it held truth he seemed pretty fine with meeting up again with them.
"I could meet you two back here if that's fine, outside of the store of course. I'll just have to drop this stuff off and go get them." Shi said motioning to the things in his basket. "Shouldn't take too long, once they hear about another digimon, well one of them at least will probably come running."

(Very sorry for the delay on this. Finals hit me like a truck)
Caleb was glad he hadn't seemed to put Shi out too much, though that did beg the question, just how many Tamers lived in this area? Let alone Tokyo as a whole. It was a pretty interesting thought, to think there might be a whole subculture built around the digimon... and the digital world. His curiosity swelled up again, but he reminded himself it would have to wait until Oz was a bit more... capable. Last thing he wanted was to go traipsing off to another world and dying there. "Still, I really appreciate it." He said even as Shi refused his thanks. He smiled as the man agreed to let them introduce their partners.
It would give Oz what he wanted and hopefully settle the pagumon down, and give Caleb a chance to ask a few more questions. "Alright, great! I'll go and get this stuff home, clean up, then we'll head back." He said. It wouldn't take long to get dinner going, and the good part about a stew was that you could leave it and not come home to a burnt down house.
"Sounds good to me!" Oz supplied, "Tell your partners get ready to meet the biggest, baddest digimon they've ever seen!" The pagumon was not lacking in self-confidence, if nothing else.

Seems like Shi wasn't getting out of this without getting thanked, not that he minded or anything it was nice to hear after quite some time being bedridden. "Sounds good, I'll probably be here when you get back." Shi replied thinking he could just have his sister put the stuff away while he went out again, that'd probably work.
"I'll make sure they know exactly what they're going to see." Shi mentioned though he had to admit he did know Digimon that was the size of a small building. So this little thing declaring it was the biggest they've seen was a massive understatement, though he felt like mentioning that would have fallen on deaf ears. Still, self-confidence was nice to hear, if not overconfidence.
With that Shi just gave a wave and hurried on home to get his partners, one of which would of come running back to the place, excited to meet new people.

Shi would be left waiting for a short time, before Caleb and Oz would return to the promised spot, the tamer holding his partner and feeling a bit apprehensive about the whole thing, now that he had had time to think it over. Oz really seemed to want to pick a fight, and he was worried that Shi's partners would humor him. Granted, the man was a lot more experienced than him, so he figured if nothing else the other tamer would be able to keep things in check.
He smiled when his eyes fell of the man, hurrying forward. "Hey, Shi. Sorry I took so long." He said, looking around for his partner, wondering what kind of digimon it would wind up being. He could only assume they'd be a touch more impressive than a pagumon, at least.
Oz, for his part, was chomping at the bit. "Come on, where's your partner!" He shouted, finally squirming his way out of Caleb's hands and landing on the ground. "I want to see 'em!" This would be his first time meeting another digimon since he hatched, he wanted to start it off with a bang.

Shi would be waiting there, standing where they said he would be arms crossed eyes closed while he waited for Caleb, minor noises could be heard near him but nothing major sounding as Shi waited for someone to come, if not Caleb then to at least get a better hiding place, luckily Caleb came first. "That's fine, I wasn't waiting for long." He mentioned opening his eyes and putting his hands in his pockets.
"Yeah I hear you, Yuudai, Yasuo you heard em come on out." She casually asked looking at a wall nearby, where the two Agumon came out. They looked almost exactly the same save for the one on the left has red bands around his claws. "What's this about anyway. Was in the middle of a nap." Yuudai complained yawning. "I'm curious too." It was then they saw the Pagumon sitting there.
"I promised these two I'd show them my partners, well here they are Yuudai and Yasuo. My twin partners." Both gave a wave once their names were said, though Yuudai had a big smile on his face and noticbly waved harder.

Oz seemed exctatic, the pagumon jumping up and down at the sight of the two agumon. "Wow, two partners! Even better! I'm Ozwald, the strongest digimon ever!" The small purple digimon stated. Let it never be said he was lacking in self-confidence, at the very least.
Caleb didn't know much about digimon but somehow thought that was an exaggeration. He decided to leave that to the other digimon and looked to Shi. "I didn't realize people could have two digimon. Like I said, only had Oz for a while now. Um, if it's alright, could I pick your brain a bit?" He asked, "Ozwald has told me a bit about all this digimon stuff, but he's..." He glanced at Ozwald, who was currently bouncing around the agumons talking about his own strength, "Well you can see." He said.
"Come on, I can take both of you on right now!" Oz declared, seeming intent on picking a fight he had no chance of winning.
