The Daedalus Expedition I [Mars/Elliot/Cion]

Post by Colin, Luke & Bellamy on Mar 23, 2018 5:18:33 GMT
The day had come. Colin had grown quite a lot in the year and a half he had spent in the digital world. When he was once a passive 13 year old as he first stepped off the Trailmon back then, his partners bouncing up to him; he had now just turned 15, and was nearly half a foot taller now than he had been back then. It was evident to his partners as he stood at the front of Daedalus's lounge cabin. While Colin was still a boy, his partners Luke the Elecmon and Bellamy the Impmon could see the man he would become as well. Colin was particularly solemn about this journey, mainly for its significance. It was his first journey to the dreaded "Dark Area" of the digital world. It was the fulfillment of his promise to his partners to help them give justice to the slaying of their former selves. It was the time when he would finally make true of Majiramon's contract. And, most of all, this would be his most prominent mission of the digital world thus far. This mission - to infiltrate the Dark Area, find the Zanbamon warlord, and destroy him. He couldn't thank the friends that came with him enough. Marshal and Coronamon were there as ever; Cion, his friend, comrade and the most powerful independent digimon of PROFIT, and Elliot, the friend he had made back then at the Caritas. With them, he felt that they were ready to finally make the journey. "Thanks for coming with us" he had said to them before they had taken off. "I've asked you to help... because we need you. There's a powerful digimon in the dark area that did something unforgivable to Luke and Bellamy. I need your help to bring him to justice. I won't lie, this will be very dangerous, it's probably going to be a long journey in an uncharted area of the world, and I don't know what forces lie ahead, but... with you all here, I think we can get through this".That was then, before they had gone. Now was the long wait for them to travel to the dark area. Of course, it was a long one, given that it was a journey to the other side of the world. But still, there was time to catch up in the cabin. Bellamy was sitting with Coronamon of course. The two digimon had become engaged for marriage and were thus both excited about that, but, for once, Bellamy wasn't acting overly affectionate. He mostly sat there in deep thought, holding Coronamon's hand, somewhat anxious about the whole thing. Luke meanwhile was in conversation with the others, asking them about their journeys so far. Both he and his brother were dressed in their battle gear, wearing leather shoulder armor bearing the crests of Compassion and Tenacity, as well as their scarves. Colin was also wearing his scarf, as well as his usual clothes of a shirt and cargo pants. For now, the journey would begin in relative peace as they travelled toward their destination. "So, uh, how have you guys been going?" Luke asked the group in general. "Any adventures? Stories to share?". The Elecmon couldn't really stand the silence for much longer. When Colin and the twins had requested her help, Cion had not hesitated for a second to guarantee them their support. Much more than simply colleagues the trio was among the people she treasured the most, making it a duty of honor to assist them in whatever way possible. They had been there for her in times where she was forlorn and confused, always granting her a warm smile and a genuine helping hand. Without them, she would not know where she would be today, but the idea alone was so dreadful that she preferred to cast it aside into her mind's deepest oblivion.
Furthermore, if the task they needed to undertake was truly what she thought it was, then they had an obligation to pursue it anyway. For as much as the organization they belonged to persisted that it was a mostly neutral faction, the four of them were not. For all intents and purposes, they were sentinels of the innocent and a bane for the wicked and vile. As such their quest was both an act of personal vengeance as well as a service to the digital world. With all of that laid out in front of them, the vulpine digimon saw no problem in annihilating the Zanbamon.
She did indeed know many of the other companions who aided them in the trio's endeavor, except Marshal, but it hardly mattered in the long run. Still, every additional fighter on their side was appreciated, and for as long as they were friends who was she to discountenance them? Besides, it was more often than not enjoyable to meet a stranger, especially those who had attained sufficient power to encounter apex digimons. Furthermore, driving with the Daedalus, now a proud Mega, was always a great pleasure of luxury, comfort and serenity.
As for the female beast, she was unlike Bellamy and Luke not in her base form. Unbound by the digivices of humans, it had not been too long ago that she had ascended to the peak of her potential might. It had happened under great strain and unfathomable pain, but she had endured the arduous trial regardless. The battle against the crimson parasite was far from over, that was certain, but with the strength and agility of her past lives infused with her current existence, she was prepared to face anything - no matter how bad the odds.
Remaining in her restrained Super Mega state as to get attuned with it and master it fully, the Arniomon, proudly bearing Owen's green scarf no matter which level, rested together with the others inside the empowered Blimpmon's. Similar to her inferior existence as an Arnamon, she was a small entity, like a platinum colored fennec walking on its hind legs, dragging a white neck-pelt and fluffy tail behind her. Within her large, black eyes, only a faint golden sheen could be seen, her former bestial eyes completely enshrouded. But overall, even with gender-neutral proportions, she was just as adorable as before.
"Well... you are already acquainted my most recent story." She stated kindly with a wink, her voice very young and clear yet not lacking wisdom nor experience. Calmly, she stood in front of a potted indoor plant - a fine orchid to be precise. Though... considering its current vitality, calling it that was certainly an exaggeration. However, as with every time she was aboard Daedalus, that was not a problem she could not fix. And this time, all Cion needed was a gentle touch to make the construct of flowers glow brightly, once again standing healthy and beautiful. "Tihi..."

The time was finally at hand for Marshal and Coronamon to join Colin and the twins on their expedition to the Dark Area. Majiramon had been understandably patient with them, which was understandable considering the depth of what they were about to get themselves into. The two Tamers thought it dangerous enough that they left Finn and Gaz back at Kongou Island. Luckily, the two wouldn't be alone as long as other PROFIT members were around the island. Gaz also seemed like she could be responsible in a pinch, so she could keep Finn in line.
Coronamon sat with Bellamy, holding his hand tightly. Out of everyone aboard, he was probably the most nervous to go to the Dark Area. Marshal might not fully remember the details of their last trip there, but Coronamon did all too well. The fight with Ryouta, that strange Digimon appearing out of nowhere and gravely wounding the two of them. The visit to Dr. Mikemon had at least relieved his suspicion that the infection he had recieved was immediately harmful, but Coronamon still couldn't help but worry. He should've told Bellamy beforehand, he knew that, but this was an important mission for him and his brother. He didn't want to make it all about him.
Luke asked if anyone had any new adventures to report on. "Not much," Marshal admitted. "We've just kinda been...wandering." It had been a little while since anyone had actually seen Marshal or Coronamon, as the two of them had gone on a little soul-searching journey. Marshal still had a lot to figure out as far as his future plans, and was at a bit of a crossroads. Of course, none of those present knew about their encounters with the six members of the Big Death-Stars, who had recently awoken and gathered under the banner of Bagramon, who had a vested interest in Marshal and Coronamon. They were heading towards the area that their activity was spawning from, but still Marshal hoped that nothing bad would come of it.

Frankly, Elliot had no idea why Colin had come seeking him out, of all people. He had connections to two teams of massive power and influence, PROFIT and AEGIS. He knew a lot of Digimon capable of achieving Mega, or even heights beyond, with ease. He didn't even know Elliot very much comparatively, having met him and Isaac only once at Caritas. To be fair, it was quite the great meeting. The quintet were surprisingly synergistic in their fighting styles, and had managed to work around the rampages of an entire brawling bar in order to capture a nefarious culprit with minimal collateral damage.
However, their meeting was just that; a chance meeting. It was the first, and up until this point the only. That was why Elliot was so stunned to see the rally for help on his D-Terminal, even checking the address a few times to make sure that it wasn't redirected to his Terminal by accident. This just reaffirmed the fact that, seemingly, Colin had been reaching out directly to Elliot and Isaac.
Elliot wasn't about to leave Colin hanging, but he did want to make sure that he at least gave proper warning. In what was supposed to be a simple message, he found himself pouring everything out.
Hey Colin,
I mean, I'd love to help! But, just a warning, it's only going to be me. Isaac, well . . . I haven't seen him in a long while. We went on a mission in the Dark Area to purge it of the D-Reaper's corruption, and it got him. It must have gotten some weird data stuck in him after taking him away, because he couldn't turn back. So he's staying in the Digital World. I have no idea where he is anymore, and I think he did that to try and help me but really it just sucks. I wish he was here, even if he's not feeling like himself right now.
Since then, I haven't really been able to use my old forms, either. So, you're not gonna see Strikedramon again. Or my Mega level, Dynasmon. But the first of my new spirits already found me, and I'm sure the rest will come around soon. I'm not going to be a powerhouse at all, so if that's why you're writing to me you should probably look elsewhere. But . . . MagnaAngemon's got dedication to spare, and so do I. It's been a while since I've been to the Digital World for more than a few hours, but if you're still looking for my help I promise that you can count on me.
I'll be over as soon as possible. Thank you.
-Elliot
It wasn't a very long email, but it had taken Elliot hours to to find the strength to type it all up. He had finally sent it just as the sun was starting to rise in the sky again, Elliot letting out a weary sigh as he drifted off onto his computer.
~~~~
It was a far cry from where he was now, standing on the deck of the Deadalus surrounded by some of the strongest Digimon that Colin could call upon. Even with his confidence back up from his prior trauma, Elliot was feeling quite out of place among this assortment. Nevertheless, he did his best to hold his head up high. If Isaac was here, that's what he would have wanted, right?
He nodded as Marshal gave his answer. "Same, really," he said, not wanting to get into the details of his time away from the Digital World yet again. The time for dwelling on the past was over. Now it was time for the future, and with or without Isaac Elliot knew he would get there. He kept his hand in his pocket, squeezing his Digivice tightly as if his life depended on it.
After all, it did.
Luke smiled at Cion. "Yeah, guess we are" he said. They had already recently been on an adventure together, exploring a new area of the digital world. What they had found there was currently unknown, but Luke had certainly enjoyed it.
Of course, Bellamy's kids Finn and Gaz were currently being looked after on Kongou Island. It had been quite an argument they had with Bellamy about being left behind, but there was no way in hell that the Impmon would let them set foot in the Dark Area. This was one of the reasons why Bellamy was so subdued, seeking the warmth of his fiance. Gaz had pointed out some harsh truths to him in that row.
"What the hell does it matter that he's still alive?!" she had said. "You're alive too! And you got a family! Why do ya gotta gamble all that just for the chance of revenge?!"
While Colin had previously stayed out of Bellamy's family issues, at this point he stood in when Bellamy seemed speechless. "This isn't revenge, Gaz. It's justice". And that had been that, Gaz stood down, but still seemed discontent with the decision to go.
Plus, they still had the contract with Majiramon - to recover the item that Zanbamon had stolen from her. If anything that was the reason to get professionally involved. Still though, Bellamy leaned his head on Coronamon's shoulder at the memory of that argument with their daughter. He still felt bad about it.
So it seemed Marshal and Coronamon hadn't been doing much either. And as for Elliot, well, Colin had mainly asked him along since his reply seemed to imply that he also had business in the Dark Area too, and, well, Colin wanted to try and help him out. After all, he regarded Elliot as a friend. He was someone about his age, he was friendly, and Colin thought that inviting him on an expedition with three other Super Mega levels would help him solve whatever was bothering him. Of course, that was just the possibility. Colin had no intentions of forcing the matter.
As they continued along their journey, the clouds outside seemed to grow thicker, and darker. Daedalus's flight systems easily allowed them to maintain control in their flight, but, there was something very eerie and ominous about the journey ahead. Colin was trembling a little as they neared. This was the equivalent of hell on the digital world that they were approaching, and still, even though he had achieved great things with his partners, that didn't change the fact that he was still a 15 year old boy that hadn't yet faced true peril. He hoped that Marshal would be able to help here, as well as all their digimon friends.
Eventually, Daedalus spoke through the intercom.
"My sensors detect land ahead. Shall we proceed with landing?" he asked. By now the skies outside were an eerie dark red. The sea below seemed to glow like fire. So, this was the Dark Area.
"Yeah, let's do that" Colin said. The plan was to spend as little time in the air as possible. They had no idea what laid ahead, and in the open sky, they were vulnerable to attack. At least this way they could both let Daedalus rest after this long journey and prepare their expedition on foot. As Zanbamon seemed to hold a high reputation, he hoped that asking the local digimon would tell them in what direction to find him.
Eventually, Daedalus descended on the barren wasteland, resting on his landing jacks, waiting for his passengers to alight.
"Well, here we are..." Colin said to his friends, hesitantly. He was unsure about going out first, but Bellamy took the opportunity.
While it surprised Colin given how despondent he seemed a few moments ago for him to just say "Follow me, guys" as though it was nothing, well, that was the Crest of Tenacity on his shoulder after all.
A rather quiet get-together, but Cion did not mind things how they were. With Terminus and other locations of similar size, a constant surge of loud noises were pretty much part of the daily grind. Just being around friends and companions in hushed serenity for once was a pleasant diversion from workaday life, despite being at work. That and no to mention the fact that they were heading towards the Dark Area, a literal hell on Earth, in their quest to take down another fiendish warlord. That was far from a serene activity, but that was of no concern to the vulpine digimon. She had promised some of her closes pals her help, and she was not going to break their trust in her.
Knowing that Vertigo safely resided within the massive payload bay of Daedalus to serve as an emergency back-up, the living airship announced that they would be landing soon, which was confirmed by Colin. It appeared the time for banter and respite was over, but it was with confidence that future pleasantries awaited them that she turned her back on the freshly rejuvenated orchid. In spite of her... previous experience... the restrained cosmic beast was not afraid of what lied ahead. Mustering courage for the sake of those she cared about had become a trivial effort.
Besides, she was far more powerful than her twee appearance led others to believe.
With Bellamy apparently taking charge, which made a lot of sense in consideration of what she knew of the Impmon, Cion followed along suit swiftly. And with that she certainly did not mean walking by herself. Scuttling around the fine lad everyone knew by the name of Colin, she whizzed up his pronounced frame and made it herself comfortable on his right shoulder. Surely a strong young man such as him did not mind bearing the weight of a critter who carried herself with such grace and pleasant manners, and sometimes bestial playfulness, no?
Tilting her head to look into his resin-colored eyes, she gently grinned with a mix of reassurance and almost carefree confidence. Their old, female friend was there by their side, no matter what was going to occur - a perpetual dedication and figurative crest of amity she bore with pride.
The Forsaken Wasteland...it had been a while. Neither Marshal nor Coronamon were particularly excited to be back in the Dark Area, but Majiramon's request was still pressing, and they didn't want to leave Colin and the twins hanging. Sure, they had their reservations and their own problems, but Marshal wasn't the type to leave his friends when they needed him.
The pair made their way off the ship and followed along. Coronamon quickly caught up with Bellamy, not wanting to leave his side. Marshal, meanwhile, took his time getting off and stayed near the back of the group. For some reason, he didn't feel extremely talkative.
Most of the Daedalus crew seemed like they were born ready for this. And really, why wouldn't they be? To one who didn't know of PROFIT besides their reputation, they would see three of the Digital World's finest suiting up and getting ready for battle. They had reached the pinnacle of Digital World power, so what would they have to fear?
Elliot could tell, just from the hesitation in Colin's voice, that it wouldn't be nearly so simple. He wasn't just one of PROFIT's strongest members, and the proud, bold leader of an expedition into the unknown. He was just a kid, barely older than Elliot was. He couldn't even drink or drive yet, and here he was expected to lead a warband of adventurers towards glory. As someone who was accustomed to putting way too much pressure on his own shoulders, Elliot knew that this would be a recipe for disaster if left ignored. The other members of PROFIT, whether focused on their own stress or simply confident in their leader, weren't currently checking on him. Elliot wouldn't be the third to walk away.
He walked over to the Colin, giving him a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Hey, Colin?" he asked, making sure to look at the other boy and work up as much confidence in his eyes as possible. "This is all going to be okay. I promise. And I'll do everything I can to make sure it stays that way." Big words, from the current weakest link of the group by a very large margin, but Elliot wasn't the kind of person to just bail on a promise like that.
With that said, he turned to join the rest of them in following Bellamy. He noticed Marshal was also lagging behind, and decided to slow his pace in order to check in on him. "You doing okay?" he asked. If Marshal was going slow enough to keep pace with the guy with a crutch, there was clearly something going on!
Colin was a little surprised when he felt something climb up him, but the warmth and painless experience told him that it wasn't any frightening local native. It was simply Cion, who rested on his shoulder. Colin chuckled at the gesture, even going as far as reaching up to gently pat Cion's back for doing so.
Luke and Bellamy didn't mind. They trusted Cion, plus both of them were a little too big to ride on Colin themselves.
"Thanks, Cion, I'm glad you agreed to come with us" Colin said. He felt just a little bit better after that.
Bellamy meanwhile was happy that Coronamon rushed up by his side. Despite the dread and desolation of the area, having his fiance nearby just wiped all the chill of the unknown away. Even if the uncomfortable silence on the way here made Bellamy think that something might be off, he didn't mind. The only thing that mattered was that Coronamon was here, and was real. The Impmon reached over and put his arm around him. Not losing focus, but as a means of security to keep moving forward.
Luke was walking midway between Bellamy and Colin, he could tell that Bellamy was a little distracted at the moment, and that it would be up to him to prevent any dangers from approaching.
Colin meanwhile looked up as Elliot spoke He was a little bit startled at these words. Firstly because of his status as a human in the digital world capable of biomerging to Super Mega, nobody had really thought to reassure him like that. Indeed, most of the time, he simply detached himself from the dangers and let his partners do the talking.
"Thanks, Elliot, that really means a lot" Colin said, smiling. "To be honest... this is the first mission I've been on that I'm really unsure about what to expect". He looked at his partners ahead of him though. They had done so much for him, and he felt that this was the best way to repay them back for all they had done. Not only were they his partners, but his best friends, He had spent one and a half years with them, and knew the pain they had gone through. This would be the time where their suffering would be avenged.
For the time being, there would be no hostilities yet from the Dark Area. Not even the most reckless of the digimon that lived here would risk trying to take on such a big group. Their trials would begin later.
In contrast to her typical attitude of grace and mannerism, Cion let out a murr of utmost delight when Colin gently pat her back. As a beast digimon, it was sometimes hard to not reveal her inherent nature, but among him and the twins she did not feel like she had to anyway. Based on a mammal, she of course loved caressing of all types, especially from her dearly treasured friends. She could not help it, and neither did she want to. If there was anything she had learned since changing her relationship with Owen, it was appreciating who she was.
"Of course! That's the least I can do." She replied with a lot of pride and cheer in her voice. After everything the trio had done for her - enabling her to join PROFIT, granting her a means of transportation and safety through Daedalus, supporting her in times of great anguish and agony alike, simply being fantastic people to have as both pals and colleagues - it would have been a disgrace for all that was good and amicable to let them be on their own. Besides, stopping a fiendish warlord was also a task she simply could not ignore, for it posed a threat to the digital world in general.
Making it herself comfortable on Colin's shoulder, she eavesdropped on his conversation with the person named Elliot. Sighing quietly she leaned forward, her gaze shifting away from the vastness of the dark area to the talons of her right paw. "Let's just hope no crimson parasites are involved." Cion commented quietly, still unsure if what had happened was something she was supposed to be grateful for or resent. It had enabled her to ascend to her apex, but it had also imposed great sorrow upon those she only wanted to see smile.
Shaking her head, the silver fennec bristled with focus and straightened her green scarf, ready to face whatever it was they had to overcome to achieve peace... and vendetta.
Coronamon was happy to have Bellamy's arm around him. It had been a few weeks since the two had been together, since Marshal had whisked him away to parts unknown. He had initially felt bad at first for leaving so quickly after they had gotten engaged, but Marshal had really needed some time for reflection. Bellamy was usually pretty understanding, so he hoped that it hadn't been too stressful for him. For the time being, they walked together in a content silence. All they had to do was finish this mission, and they could go home and finally be married.
Marshal was a little surprised that Elliot had approached him. For some reason, he felt like he recognized the boy from somewhere, but just couldn't place it. He smiled weakly as Elliot showed some concern for his well-being. "Doing alright," he lied. "Just not very excited to be in the Dark Area, of all places." Zanbamon's choice in locale wasn't really what was weighing on Marshal's mind, of course, but he didn't want to jeopardize Colin, Luke, and Bellamy's mission with his own problems. The Big Death-Stars and their mysterious leader Bagramon loomed in the back of Marshal's mind, however. Would the group be safe if the threat of them appearing was greatly increased in the Dark Area? Maybe he shouldn't have come, but he didn't want to abandon his friends in their most ambitious undertaking. Time, of course, would tell if his worrying was justified, but for now he decided to play it close to the chest and see how things developed.
The good natured smile on Elliot's face turned somewhat sad as he heard that Colin was only now facing his first doubt. In a way, that must have made it even more worrying for him. "Can't say there's been one yet I haven't been unsure about," Elliot admitted. "It's not easy. I mean, it never is. And I'm really glad you haven't had to wrestle with that too much yet. But if this is the first time you actually have to deal with being nervous like this, that has to be a sign you're doing something right."
He sighed, looking out to the Dark Area. He never liked it here, but it was even worse now that he had the D-Reaper incident fresh on his mind. He could faintly see D-Evidramon flying over the Sea of Blood, all eyespots locked on him as if trying to burrow into his soul. When he blinked the phantasm had vanished, as if it was just a trick of how the clouds swirled together. "I guess the best we can do is just press forward and have each other's backs, right?" Elliot asked. "I may not be that strong right now, but there's no chance I'm letting anything bad happen to you. I promise."
With Colin's worries hopefully settled, he turned his focus back to Marshal. The other boy seemed to be hiding something, but frankly Elliot wasn't good enough with tone to know what. Isaac was always way better at picking out the evasive ones. Whatever was weighing on Marshal, though, it was clear he didn't want to talk about it. "I get that," Elliot said, at least commiserating with Marshal about the Dark Area. "Would've been nice if we had a better place to do this. But I guess I should be used to not being able to pick that out by now, huh?" Ah, spirit user humor. They sure did get flung around the globe a lot.
". . . Do I know you, by the way?" he asked, trying to figure out just who Marshal actually was besides a sad guy. He could've sworn he had met him before, but he really couldn't think of where.
(OOC: I'm sorry, I've been jammed on this post for 2 weeks so I'm just gonna go ahead with the thread idea and keep things going).
Colin was glad of the support that was floating around their little group. It at the very least kept him moving forward, as though they could really achieve something in their mission over here. At least he thought that, without recognizing something that was nearby and very real.
The sight of three humans and four digimon piqued the interest of a digimon nearby. Not just any digimon, but a very strong one indeed. Yet... at first, he didn't want to show himself in front of the intruders, for fear that they might be planning something. However, as a digimon skilled with the power of illusion, well, this Barbamon didn't have to do much to hide himself at a reasonable distance to try and see what the group was doing.
At first he thought they were a malicious force, either here for a raid or a scouting mission, but, they didn't seem to be that interested in their surroundings, just... going somewhere. But why was that? Very curious.
Eventually, it all became too curious for him to stay back any longer. Figuring that he would at least strike now while he had the advantage, Barbamon floated in front of them in his veil of illusion, making him invisible - all until the last moment when he wanted to be seen.
"Stop immediately" he ordered, lowering his staff at the group. "One move to your digivices or attempt to attack in any way and it'll be the last move you make". However, despite the threatening words, Barbamon did not make a threatening move. He was more curious than furious, wondering what in the world these humans and digimon were doing here. He looked upon them one by one. There was... a strange furred Impmon to start with; as well as trio of other furry beasts.
"It's not every day that humans pass through this area of the digital world" he stated. "So that makes me curious. Why are you here?" he looked at them one at a time, wondering what the answer would be.
Colin was shocked by the appearance of such an intimidating digimon. He really didn't know what to say now that he was challenged. What could he say? "I'm here for Zanbamon". What if this digimon worked for him? What would the best way to go about this situation? And since he hesitated, Luke and Bellamy were a little unsure of how to approach this confrontation themselves. Hopefully their friends could help them out.
"Yikes!" Cion suddenly screeched as the formerly invisible intruder revealed itself in front of them. Tightly holding on Colin's shoulder, her bright silver fur straightened up from emotional shock as her eyes nervously shifted to the avian demon lord. Bearing her teeth, it took the Arniomon several deep breaths to compose herself again. "How inconsiderate." She voiced her thoughts without addressing anyone in particular. Gosh... she hated being caught off guard. How was she supposed to act with graceful sophistication if people just swooped in to surprise her?
Regaining her focus, the adorable fennec narrowed her eyes as she beheld the fiendish stranger in front of the group. As much as she accepted the territorial nature of digimon living in this barren wasteland, she did not tolerate any threats against her dearly treasured friends and companions. "Wrong." The unassuming Super Mega responded rather matter-of-factly if not a bit cold, though there was undoubtedly self-confidence behind her statement. Not making a move to attack either since the dark sovereign did not as well, she had hopefully made her point perfectly clear. If it came to a clash, it be its final moments, not theirs.
Clearing her throat when the endeavor apparently changed to simple banter, the Arniomon did not answer the question the Barbamon had asked. After all this was the trio's main quest - she and the others were the supporting cast. Tapping the lad's shoulder, she smiled warmly and motioned him to do nothing less than speak his honest mind. As far as the restrained cosmic beast saw it, there was no reason for them to be cautious much less afraid. Anyone who was foolish or vile enough to oppose their mission had to be... dealt with anyway.
Marshal was caught off-guard a bit by the sudden appearance of the powerful Barbamon. Though the demon seemed incredibly threatening and powerful, the way he spoke gave a feeling of curiosity more than anything. It was pretty apparent to Marshal that they wouldn't get out of here without some sort of confrontation, but he didn't want to say anything that might anger the enemy. That's what this was, right? An enemy? He couldn't be entirely sure.
Coronamon, meanwhile, was really not in the mood to be fighting. "We're looking for someone," he said, being vague while maintaining an air of intensity.
