Mizu looked around the office they had rented. It was a shame that Yukiko could not attend this most historic moment, but if a girl gotta work, she works. The floor was covered in a dusty carpet, the walls were clad in wood and gaudy, faded wallpaper, and two posters, one of the Scorpions world tour of 1984 and the other being the release poster of Akumajō Dracula from 1986. Clearly, while basic maintenance had been made to keep this place from falling into disrepair, it still hadn't seen much action in the past decades. But, this was about to change!
Mizu had spent all day spreading cryptic adverts for the club online. The Digital Field Club, a club dedicated to researching the Digital World, seeking interested researchers. The cryptic advert said "Interested in researching the Digital World? Then come to Hachiko Square, the office above the French Cafe, and you will see!!. Vague, but curiousity would be the first and most important trait for their budding club!
Before going on a first adventure, Ayumi had hooked up her computer to the office. While she had to leech Network Access from downstairs, everything was up and running. Mizu did some vacuuming and basic cleaning as she waited for interested folk to arrive!

It was a pure stroke of luck Haru had stumbled upon the mysterious advert calling for of all things "researchers for the Digital World". Frankly, it managed to both be suspicious, but also interesting to say the least. How often did people post calling for assistance like this on regular human internet anyway? Where as most people would have merely assumed it to be just a bunch of mad ramblings or a scam, Haru saw promise in the strange advertisement.
Gathering her things (and a very grumpy Tawna who was not pleased to have to degenerate to their Champion level and hide within the girl's backpack), heading to the location that was listed with a bit of excitement in the gogglehead's eyes. It was conveniently near the cafe she tended to visit to hog free WI-FI, so finding the office was a snap!
Arriving at what seemed to be the spot, the black-haired girl knocked on the door to one of the office rooms, patiently waiting for perhaps an answer as she slightly bobbed up and down waiting, humming a small tune to herself.
The disgruntled-looking face of a Meicoomon poked out of the bag, glancing slightly at their surroundings before gazing at Haru. "This even the right spot? This place looks like it's not been touched in years."

It was a normal morning for Miyu, she just got home after the morning meditation and started the PC to see if something interesting pop in, and would you know it, it did!
"Interested in researching the Digital World? Then come to Hachiko Square, the office above the French Cafe, and you will see!!"
It was weird for someone to mention the digital World, most people wouldn't think to much about it, but thanks to Bloom there was no doubt that Miyu was interested in this proposition, she only needed an excuse to explore the Digital World and this was perfect, she grabbed Tanemon who was sleeping in her pot like the nice and cute plant she is and ran towards Hachiko Square.
Once she got there Miyu was surprise to finde Haru, it was a pleasant surprise, looking at the place tho it didn't seemed the correct office, it seemed that no one was there for ages, well at least she had someone to pass the time with
"Shibuya is a short city it seems! How's it going Haru?" Said Miyu with her usual big smile

It was either by sheer coincidence or a weird twist of fate that Carlos had come across with the advert inviting people “interested in researching the digital world”, having accidentally found it while randomly clicking links waiting for a movie (totally not being downloaded illegally, I assure you) to finish downloading.
Seeing the words “Digital World” being displayed so openly and clearly on the web (or at least not on some shady looking site on the deep web) made some alarms ring out in his head. This was either a scam, some government agency trying to lure partners for their own needs, or something legit that was probably worth checking out. So of course his first instinct was to grab a hold of his now sleeping partner Dio, hide him inside his backpack and start making his way to the designated meeting place.
Well, scam or not, it’s not like he had anything better to do, even if the small digimon (now disguised as a black cat thanks to the holosuit they had gotten recently) was less than thrilled to be dragged into this whole ordeal without being consulted.
“This better be legit, The Dark Lord hates to have his naps be interrupted.” The grumpy looking imp-disguised-as-cat would say after Carlos explained the situation to him, the digital being trying to find a comfortable position to resume his sleep while inside the moving backpack.
A short while later the duo had made their way into Hachiko Square, and were now standing right in front of the marked office, which at first glance had clearly not been used for a long time.
Yep, this still seemed like a scam, alright. But at the very least Carlos wasn’t the only one to fall for it, as there were two girls seemingly waiting by the place’s door as well. He shrugged. Might as well at least say hi to the other volunteers before dismissing the whole thing as a fraud.
Good thing the office was just on top of a coffee shop, worst case scenario he could drink the disappointment away with a nice hot cappuccino.
“Hey there.” He said as he approached the other two with a wave. “You here for the club thing too?”

Well, what was this? It seemed that word of this research group had managed to slip down by rumor to the Digital World - mostly jokingly mocked by the 'proper' researchers of the Digital World, proper. After all, what were some humans going to find that Digimon themselves couldn't already figure out on their own? The thought was a joke to some, an insult to others...
... And to one particular cat who knew better, actually quite the interesting idea. An avid researcher himself - one who had several years of self-practice in data analysis - the feline decided to see just what this gig was about. Of course, coming to the human world had a number of risks of its own, but this wasn't the cat's first visit. With the weather decently chilly enough, the doctor made his way through side streets and alleys, wrapping himself up in a dark colored cloak, similar to the tone of his fur.
It took a while to get there, but the cat arrived on time - or, well, close enough to it that they'd know why he was here. Stepping into the office after a short knock, he'd take a look around:
"Everyone's here for the research team?" Seeing the other Digimon around, the Mikemon would give a sigh and a nod, lowering his hood to reveal himself. No tamer in sight, the feline gave a nod to the group. "Dr. Mikemon. Pleasure to meet you all."
Even if there wasn't one face familiar to him in the room!

Mizu stared a bit as the Mikemon had just entered after knocking. The other three potential members seemed to have waited, but this guy just came straight in! "Ah, straight-forwardness, I like that!"
The person who had all invited them here seemed to be a 4'9" tall woman with brown hair wearing clothes that radiated self-confidence in her own body. She smiled, and waved them all in.
"Ah, welcome one, and welcome all! Please, come in, make yourselves at home! It's not much right now, but I hope it will be adequate!~"

The girl just sort of shrugged at the feline in her bag, sorta hoping that they'd get at least a sign that they were on the right track... which would soon come in the form of some people arriving, at least one familiar (and one whom was most certainly NOT human).
"Oh! Wow, I'm kinda shocked... I guess it really is a small city! Surprised to see us both interested! Doing good! How are you and Bloom handling things?" she cheerfully spoke to Miyu, clearly happy to them.
The head of Tawna in her Meicoomon form peeked out of Haru's backpack, glancing over at Miyu. "... Hi. Again." they ended up somewhat gloomily speaking (still bothered by their shortness in this state) before looking over at the other three individuals; one a human man, the other two cats. Of course, one was clearly of the more Digital variety, though the other more Earthly cat reeked of the scent of a Digimon. Tawna was generally the untrusting type, so she merely idled as she squirmed slightly in the bag.
Haru nodded at the young man, glancing at the far shorter hooded figure who most certainly was not human as they walked in (figuring that it was alright to walk in, but you never could be too sure about this stuff). "Mmmhmm, I hope at the very least we're all on the same page here... but I mean come on; a Digital World research club? We'd all not be here if we were not!" she spoke to the bleached-hair man before eventually following inside.
Greeting them all was a petite girl with a friendly face, Haru taking a seat by a one of the tables still in the room as Tawna hopped out of her bag. The black-haired girl smiled as she briefly took off the white goggled-helmet she wore as she warmly smiled at everyone else. "Thank you so much! Haru Toriya, and Garfield over her is my partner, Tawna. I hope we'll all be able to get along!" she cheerfully spoke as she briefly bowed in her seat, a bit of excitement in her voice.
"Can I jump to my Ultimate form now...?" Tawna ended up somewhat impatiently asking the girl, the two foot tall maine coon clearly a bit fidgety at the moment. Size complex much?
"Let's try to not be rude first... I know you don't like being short but you kinda do look a murder machine in that form." the girl gently told the Champion level, awkwardly glancing at everyone else in the room. One thing that was a bit curious to her was Dr. Mikemon, not because he was by himself (not all Digimon were bonded with a human after all, K having been a prime example of someone she has met without a tamer), but more simply because he was a doctor of anything. "So whatcha a doctor of? Does that mean you have a license?" she ended up asking Mikemon, a genuine tone of curiosity in her voice.

It didn't took long enough for more people to come which was really nice, the more the merrier!
"We're doing fine, Bloom finally hit the rookie form, but I asked her to stay as Tanemon here in our world, main reason been she can hid rather easy in this form than the other, no one would suspect anything about my potted plant!" She laughed
A small figure just decided to enter the local before knocking and once inside reveal himself as a Digimon, inside the office there was also a small girl greeting everyone, once inside Miyu put the pot on the floor and Bloom came out of it
"Hi everyone!" Said the little tanemon waving her small feets

“Figured as much.” The man nodded in response to the goggle wearing girl, reassured that at the very least this was the right place. Soon after a smaller, very clearly not human hooded figure arrived, opening the door to the office, which prompted the rest of the people present to go inside. Carlos followed the after the group, and was almost surprised to see that the inside of the room wasn’t completely empty, as a small girl greeted the humans and digimon as they made their way inside.
Much to nobodies surprise the hooded figure soon revealed himself to be a digimon too, one without a partner as well. Carlos wasn’t so much surprised by this (as he had already met two digimon that went around without a human partner by now), and was mostly puzzled as to how he had manage to find this place and be unnoticed all the way here. “Uhm, no offense Doc, but is it wise for you to go sneaking around with just a hood as a disguise?” He asked, genuinely curious.
“Tch, why did I even bother with this disguise.” The holosuited digimon complained, rolling his eyes as he jumped out of the backpack, landing gracefully on his feet like the cat he was disguised as, then quickly jumping and sitting on the man’s lap as he sat on one of the few chairs around. He thought about showing his glorius true for to the people present there, but upon hearing the Meicoomon mentioning her Ultimate level he decided against it, as if trying to save face for still being stuck as a rookie.
At the very least he wasn’t the smallest one in the room, as the Tanemon in the pot soon revealed.
“Hey ya’ll, I’m Carlos. Little guy here’s Dio.” He said with a smile while standing up from his chair, holding the small black cat in his hands.
“The Dark Lord Dio.” The megalomaniac partner corrected with a smug huff, prompting Carlos to roll his eyes. “Yeah, take that last part with a grain of salt.” He said while sitting. “So uh…dumb question, but what’s this club about?”

Straightforward was one way to put it! Blinking at the disguised Betamon, the doctor gave a bit of an embarrassed chuckle. "Ah, sorry. Just a bit tense walking on the streets on this side." Of course, he meant that as a Digimon, he'd rather not risk being seen more than he had to - though if this was the wrong address, this would have made quite the awkward introduction.
Fortunately, that was far from the case - in this dreary and otherwise haunting office building, the group arranged here made the place seem all the more comfortable. Their energetic leader encouraged them to simply gather around and make themselves at home, the cat giving a nod as he gave a glance over the group. It didn't take long for the blue-garbed goggle-head to take note of him, the doctor giving a nod in response: "Mhm, I'm licensed. I'm a doctor of medical research, specializing in data research between tamers and their partner Digimon. Pleased to meet you, Haru. Tawna." He gave a brief nod to the both of them, as well as a wave to the energetic Tanemon.
That wasn't the only comment that the doctor got, though - hearing the comment from Carlos, the Mikemon returned a chuckle. "Can't help it. Holosuits make my data stand on edge, and besides," the Doctor flipped the hood of the cloak back over his head, tightening his grip around the chest. "Is this the look of someone you'd stop and ask questions to on the street?"
Pulling the hood back again, ears once more standing tall, the Mikemon listened to the last of the introductions: Carlos, and apparently, 'The Dark Lord Dio'. At least twenty years dedicated to getting my title, and the young ones are still just naming themselves? Sheesh. Feeling a tad embarrassed for his kind, the cat blinked as Carlos raised a decent point.
"Well," the Mikemon added, pulling himself up to take a seat at the table next to Haru - and a moment later, on the table, once he realized the seat was too low, "Guess we'll just have to see what our hostess has to say about it."

Mizu watched as the team members chatted among themselves. She closed the door, to make sure no one could stray in here and see Digimon. Then she sat back down on the desk.
"Aha, welcome, welcome Haru, Miyu, Carlos and Mr. Mikemon! And a good day to all of your partners too! As for what this club is about, let me start from the very beginning...
In a poof of smoke, the short woman disappeared, and was replaced with a Betamon - it was a Holosuit!
"Welcome to the Digital Field Club! My name is Mizu-chan, I am the most gorgeous partner of the most gorgeous Yukiko Armstrong! Mizu turned the monitor of the nearby computer around and clicked an icon on the desktop, showing a photo of said Yukiko...who was clearly at work and was surprised by the photo. "She is our actual leader, but unfortunately the ice cold grasp of capitalism forces her to be at work right now!" The photo changed back to a photo of Mizu, winking, with an obscene amount of snapchat filters. "The Digital Field Club intends to research the Digital World, in all of its details! Digimon biology? You got it! History? You got it! Artifacts? You go it! We want to go on research missions and unearth the mysteries of the Digital World one by one! Sounds exciting, doesn't it?~"

"I'm happy to hear that Miyu! And it's good to see you again Bloom!" Haru cheerfully spoke (even bending down to shake hand-to-foot with the lil' digital potato herself). "Well... nice to meetcha Carlos! And you too... Dio?" the gogglehead greeted the white-haired man, then to his... partner? Frankly, they just looked like a cat... an ACTUAL regular cat, not like the cartoonish proportions of either of the Champion levels here She figured it wasn't actually their real shape, but it was certainly odd witnessing said cat talking.
"At least someone holds my views relating to those things." Tawna somewhat passively commented in a dull tone towards Dr. Mikemon, clearly referring to his opinion on holo-suits. She did seem to roll her eyes slightly at Dio, if simply because the way they referred to themselves as a dark lord just came across to her as stupid. She'd have said something else, but she was working on the whole "if you don't have something good to say, don't say it" thing her tamer has been trying to enforce on her in recent days. The orange/black maine coon unlike Mikemon just seemed to retreat underneath the table by her tamer's legs, preferring the darkness partially.
With all the initial greetings for the most part over and done with, it seemed the meeting was to actually start now. To Haru's surprise, the short girl hosting this social experiment seemed to have actually been a Digimon...?! The japanese girl was partially shocked by the appearence of the froggish-looking Rookie, though quickly remembered holo-suits were a thing (even if her partner seemed to reject the idea of using them entirely). Nonetheless, seemed Mizu here was actually the partner of the real brains of this operation! While they were just a Digimon, Haru's recent adventure this past month or so has more or less eradicated any difference she may held towards Digimon as individual people. "Well, I can't wait to meet her soon! Can't blame her really for not being here... I need to crap out a research paper soon for world history. It's all fun and games until college demands a blood sacrifice." she spoke to Mizu, a bit of comedic sarcasm to the last sentence.
"As far as I can tell, human educational work your level seems to have a distinct lack of paganistic rituals of the demonic stereotype, Haru." the Meicoomon ended up briefly commenting, though seemed to pause briefly as their cross-shaped pupils shrunk slightly. "Oh... wait, this is that sarcasm thing. Nevermind."
Haru snorted slightly at the feline's eccentric misjudging of her own words (the brief, comedic idea of a bunch of college students attempting to call up Satan to help them with their final exams or some other menial shit coming to mind briefly).
Beyond perhaps Mizu's overethusiastic use of glitter in portraying themselves, the general gist of the club was pretty easy to grasp overall. "So basically everything there is people would want to know, right?" she ended up speaking up, a wide-eyed look of curiosity on the girl's face. "I think that'd be great for us to do! I feel like even Digimon don't know everything there is to know about their world and eachother! It'd be good for both them, but other humans wandering around aimlessly! I mean... knowledge is power, right?"

"It's good to see you too and Tawna! Bloom wave her little feet at the Meicoomon although she didn't expect to wave back, Miyu in the other hand she seemed busy with the talking cat named Dio.
"Awww, who's a little Demon lord? Who's a cute tiny little Demon Lord? Said while giving him little pats on the head, Tanemon noted that the disguised digimon was getting annoyed so she reminded Miyu to respect the personal space of the others "Oh... Yeah... Sorry I just got to excited, my name is Miyu Feng and the little potato over there it's Bloom, nice to meet everyone!
Betamon reveal and introduce herself as Mizu-chan, she told the group what the digital field club was going to be about, basically a research group that explores the digital world looking to find answers to the mysteries in the digital world, it sounded really interesting.
"It's a wonderful idea! It'll help new and unexperienced tamers like me and also will give us a direction or place to go and explore instead of wandering without direction and getting in trouble" Said the chinese girl with a big smile

“Fair point, Doctor.” The man replied to the cat with a chuckle, not having the heart to tell him that a small hooded figure didn’t exactly strike him as too threatening, unless someone was deadly afraid of very tiny drug dealers.
“Well, its nice to meet you girls too.” He said with a smile and a nod to the group before sitting back down on his chair.
The small self proclaimed monarch however wasn’t at all pleased by the kind of attention he was getting. Or rather, the kind of attention that Miyu was giving to him. Quite the opposite in fact, as he would merely glare at her and let out a small (if almost adorable) growl as she pet his head. If he hadn’t been disguised, he would be threatening with fire just about now.
“Easy now Dio.” Carlos said, trying to calm down the annoyed digimon. He was about to throw in a “just pretend its K petting you” as well, but figured having the office spontaneously catch on fire on their first meeting was not a good idea.
After all the introductions were over, Carlos had to admit, so far he was glad he had taken his chances with this. It seemed like a friendly and colorful group, one that Carlos wouldn’t mind being a part of (even if he felt just slightly out of place, being the only human male in sight and all that). And while the man was just a bit taken aback by the revelation that this “Mizu-chan” was also a holo-suited digimon, he was far from surprised at this point. If anything, he was surprised that she wasn’t really the brains behind the operation, that honor apparently going to her partner who apparently was too busy with work to be there that day. And while the ensuing presentation was easy to follow (if a bit too overloaded with filters for his liking), he was still a bit wary of the whole research aspect, mostly because while he had always fantasized of being a mad scientists in the vein of Frankenstein, he’d had some pretty bad experiences during science class all the way back in high school, as well as a rather…fiery accident with the chemistry set his parents had given him for his tenth birthday. But frankly Haru and Miyu’s enthusiasm over the whole thing was kind of contagious. He shrugged a bit to himself. Eh, he had already come all this way, it would be lame for him to back down at the last minute.
“Well, I have to agree with everyone else, learning more about the Digital World would probably be good for-“
“So how well does this pay?” Dio would interrupt him, the man sighing in exasperation a bit at this. No wonder the greedy little bastard had barely complained on the way here despite being woken up from a nap.
“Anyways…as fascinating as I find this I’m not exactly the best with this science and research stuff. That said if we’re going to be exploring and doing “field research” I’m in.”

The Mikemon simply gave a nod to Carlos' chuckle. The appearance didn't need to look threatening, per se, it just needed to look unapproachable. And besides, Tawna had it about right: who wanted to spend most of their time in an unfamiliar form that went against their instincts? Give Dio a few weeks like that, and one might catch an Impmon trying to prowl around like a cat.
Well. Try, while not looking like a cat, anyway. Soon enough, the group gathered around their table, to listen to the words of their hostess - who turned out to be a Betamon! Dr. Mikemon gave a slight blink of surprise, his eyes flicking over to the computer screen. A few long seconds of processing the filters later, they would get a good look at their leader in proper. Huh... if she wasn't available, than why did they hold their first meeting this week? No-one else seemed to think it off, though, so the Doctor just attributed it as a 'human' thing.
"If a pagan ritual would have squeaked me past one or two of my thesis papers, I would have been all for it." Giving his own chuckle to Tawna's confirmation of sarcasm, the cat's ear gave a twitch at Dio's question. What did it pay? It didn't matter to the doctor, but wasn't this meant as just a sort of science club?
"... Administrative issues aside," the cat coughed, "it does sound exciting. And I'll be interested to see what we can all pull off. Most of my prior research has been in the medical and analytical front, but there's definitely quite a few un-turned stones in the Digital World." Heck, they hadn't even fully figured out Digivolution, and that had been a trait of his world for quite some time!
"So," the cat looked to the Betamon, "How will we be going about this research? Group trips and standard observation? Missions?" Pen and paper? There would be a lot to consolidate, between the nine of them!
