OOC: Continued from this thread
While on Earth, Nik couldn't help but smile at how nice Toki was being. "Heh, thanks. You know in school I've had a lot of people comment on my accent, but only when I speak in English. Funny thing, guess I've been learning how to speak Japanese the way they have".That was probably why Nik was more comfortable speaking in Japanese first up. Even though he was only recently acquainted with the language, he got way less strange looks for speaking it, in fact he was often praised by his classmates for speaking it. Yet when they found out he also spoke English and tried to have a conversation in that language, they'd stare with amazement and wonder where he learned to talk like that. It was little things, sure, but all the more uncomfortable for a foreign boy trying to find his footing in such a distant land. Nik nodded when Toki told him to keep hush-hush about the digital world. "Yeah, of course, I've been worried that that might be the case, hence why I haven't gone around asking about this digivice thing" he said. Nik then turned to the spirit, blushing a little. "Heh, you're kind for saying so. I just hope he's okay..." he paused. "...or she, not that I know yet".Then Toki made an offering, and yes, Nik did indeed have the afternoon free. "Sure, I've finished with school for the moment, I can spend some time away" he said, eagerly. Heck, he was 18 now, he had his freedom. Of course, he would like to be back by midnight to keep his family from worrying, but, he wanted to see his digimon partner above all other things. That time in the digital world went faster than it did on Earth was very helpful news. Nik then watched as a portal was opened in front of him. He stared at the doorway through the dimensions here. Was... this the path? On the other side would be his partner? He glanced at Toki, hoping he was doing right in trusting him, but, so far, he had received nothing other than kindness from the other gentleman. And so he would trust him. "Okay... here goes..." he said, approaching the portal. For a moment he thought about jokingly talking about taking a step into another world, but couldn't even if he wanted to, because the moment he stepped through the portal, his breath was taken away. He soared forth through the tear in dimensions, not painfully, but still, the loss of control was startling. Onward he went, until, finally, he tumbled out of the other side onto soft grass. "What the...?" he breathed, staring at his hands. While he looked the same, he still felt... kind of different. Like there was a great charge of static electricity that wouldn't pass. Then, Nik looked around. He seemed to be in some kind of... giant nursery. Colourful blocks as big as he was were dotted around the gentle sloping landscape. This landscape was surrounded by a picket fence, then thick forest beyond that. "W-where are we?" he asked, assuming Toki and his spirit had followed.

Toki was glad that he and Nik seemed to be getting along so well. Hopefully it would continue to be that way for a long time to come. "Well you speak it very well. I've yet to struggle with understanding what you say." he said.
"A little bit of cautiousness goes a long way in the Digital World, but you'd be surprised how many friends you can make there if you approach as one. I managed to get my first totem, which are like upgrades for me, by talking it out with the guardian." He still wondered how that Antylamon was doing. Hopefully well.
His spirit chuckled at Nik's worry "Technically Digimon don't have a physical gender like humans do. We may have similarities in some of our forms, but they're just that. Similarities. Though...we have been using those pronouns more often...so..." he sighed nervously "I-In any case you should not worry about that too much when you meet." it was the first time he really seemed overly flustered, something that surprised even Toki.
Toki didn't worry about it too much and focused on passing through the portal with Nik. "Well that's good news! Should give us plenty of time. I'm really looking forward to this." he said and jumped into the portal with Nik. Since he was used to the transference, Toki carefully landed on his feet upon reaching the village with Nik "Welcome to the Village of Beginnings, Nik! Here, Digimon are born and reborn." he explained. A couple of young Digimon hopped on over excitedly and bounced around Toki "Oh, hey everybody! How are you all doing? Hey, have any of you seen a Digimon around here that's been waiting for their partner?" he asked them. They all paused and looked among each other before they all shook their head. "Aw, well no worries, thank you!" he smiled at the little group.
He noticed that Nik looked at himself for a moment "Ah, that's right. So here in the Digital World, your body does behave slightly different. If I remember right it's as if your body is partially data while it's here. It explains certain things that happen to us from time to time...whether or not it carries over to the Human World? I don't know..." he scratched the back of his head "Anyway let's take a look around. What does your Digivice say?" he asked, excited to find Nik's partner.
Toki's spirit had become more visible, with more features detailed now that he was back in the Digital World. He sat down and played with the young Digimon happily. Part of him remembered coming here many times to take care of young ones whenever he was in the area.

Nik took in these words about digimon. While he was glad that his Japanese was clear, he couldn't help but be a little worried about the advice on caution in the digital world. But he trusted that Toki wouldn't put him in danger.
So, digimon didn't have any physical gender? Well, that was interesting. Nik was curious about the implications of that, although he supposed gender was rather far down on the list of things to learn about digimon.
Then, as he passed through the portal, Nik was told that this was the Village of Beginnings - a place for baby digimon. He looked around at the little bouncing heads, surprised at the sight of them.
"Wow... these are digimon?" he asked, kneeling down as a SnowBotamon approached. He cautiously extended a hand, and to his surprise the baby digimon bounced right up to it, rubbing its head on his fingers. Nik smiled. Digimon were really cute!
Then Toki spoke to the digimon, asking them if anyone was missing a partner. Almost all responded, but in the negative. Nik was a little disappointed, but he supposed it couldn't be helped. He listened further to Toki explaining that things were a little different in the digital world. Nik looked down at his body, supposedly seeing that nothing was different, but, yet, he felt kinda different. Like a feeling of built up static electricity had gathered within him and hadn't gone away, yet it hadn't discharged.
Then Toki asked what his digivice said. Nik took it out, then saw to his surprise that it was lit up and active.
"Oh... there's some kind of arrow appearing at the edge of the screen" he answered, narrowing his eyes in concentration. "It looks like some kind of radar... so I guess I'm meant to follow it, right?"
Supposing that was it, Nik proceeded in the direction the digivice was pointing.
At this very moment, at the Trailmon Station by the Village of Beginnings, there was a digimon seated on the bench in the waiting room. He just had a red shirt, a blue sash, blue braces on his paws and a blue baseball cap on his grey and white fur. Rather smaller than other Bearmon, this digimon had come to the Village of Beginnings to try and find any information about his origins. Born without any clear memories of his previous life, Brad had left the village years ago when he evolved to Rookie, but, the fact that he had not yet been able to evolve beyond that made him think that perhaps something was wrong?
He had talked to Elecmon and Cherrymon, asking them if there was anything unusual about his origins, but they said they had not noticed any such thing. And so, here Brad was, waiting for the Trailmon to take him back to Whitewater, then home on Kongou Island to hang out with his friends.
Little did Brad know that the missing part of his story was approaching. Hopefully it would arrive before the Trailmon.

Toki smiled happily as the baby Digimon took such a liking to Nik. They were always receptive to friendly people, so this only further affirmed that Nik was a good person. Nik's adoration for them was also extremely heartwarming to see. "Yep! Baby Digimon. They're born here and stay here under the protection of caretakers until they're old enough to travel outside the village. It seems they like you, too!"
It was unfortunate that none of the Digimon knew where his partner was, but that didn't mean it was time to get disheartened. Not everything fell into place all the time, after all. He watched Nik check his Digivice for any clues on his Digimon's whereabouts. "Ah, perfect! That's exactly what that is. Looks like..." he looked around "...oh. They're at the Trailmon station. A huge train Digimon, essentially. One of the best ways to get to key parts of the Digital World. If they're waiting for Trailmon we don't have a lot of time before the next one arrives. Let's go!" he said before he began to run in the direction the Digivice showed them.
Thankfully, the Trailmon station wasn't too far away from the village, so a short jog was all that was needed for the pair to reach it before Trailmon arrived. Toki looked around the area and would ask to check Nik's Digivice a couple more times as they walked around until it pointed over at a nearby Bearmon. Toki smiled "Oh, I think that might by them." he said. He was about to call out to them, but figured it wouldn't be right. This was Nik's Digimon and he should be the one to approach first "Nik, I think that's your Digimon. Time to go say hello. You've both been waiting a long time." he said with a gentle pat to his shoulder.
The Antylamon spirit looked at Toki and nodded "A good choice. This is their moment." he said.
Toki looked up at his spirit "I couldn't rob him of this moment. Let's see how this plays out, hm?"
Antylamon chuckled "Did you bring something to wipe your eyes? You do get rather emotional with situations like this."
Toki blushed "N-no. I don't get that emotional...do I?"
"You do. But it is nothing to be ashamed of, friend."

"Wow, so, digimon are all born here?" Nik asked, curiously. "So... they don't have parents or anything?"
SnowBotamon seemed to tilt its head, confused at the word 'parents'. Nik supposed that was right. Well, he supposed that was a question for another time, although if Toki had an answer he wouldn't mind hearing it.
Then Toki seemed to know what was going on with his digivice. "You mean the digimon's in this direction?" he asked, He then listened to the explanation of Trailmon. "Train... digimon?" he repeated. "As in... living trains? Huh. That's interesting".
Given that since the digimon was at the station it seemed that they didn't have much time for their meeting. Nik understood this at once and sprinted as he hadn't done in years, just like the old days on the rugby field. Unfortunately since he hadn't actually played a game for three years he was rather short of breath by the time they arrived at the station. He paused to regain his composure.
Nik then looked at his digivice's radar, and soon discerned that it seemed to be pointing at what seemed at first sight to be a small living teddy bear, with grey and white fur, wearing a T-shirt and a baseball cap. He eventually noticed the humans and looked up with curiosity with big blue eyes.
Toki then mentioned that perhaps this was his digimon. Nik glanced at his digivice, realizing this was likely true. But... he hesitated. "...oh god what do I say?" he whispered.
"Uh, hello? Can I help you?" Brad asked, realizing the tall humans were staring at him. This at least made Nik approach the little digimon, slowly and gently. He supposed in the end that his main option was to simply tell the truth.
"Hi there" he said. "Ah, sorry if this seems a bit sudden, but... I think you're my... partner?" he said, hesitantly.
"Partner?" Brad repeated, tilting his head in confusion. "What makes you think I'm your partner?"
"Well... this thing for a start" Nik said, holding up his digivice. Brad looked at it, then realized that it seemed to be a radar that was currently centered on him. But... how could this be true?
"If you're my partner, how come it's been years since I was born and hadn't met you?" Brad asked, thinking of the stories of all his friends that had met their partners. Nik sighed at this, shaking his head.
"I'm sorry, bro, I didn't know what this thing was, so, I didn't try and find you" he said. "But... if you're my partner, I can make it up to you, is that okay?"
Brad glanced at the digivice and the human a bit more. This guy seemed kinda nice, even though if he was quite likely one of the biggest humans he had ever seen. Yet he seemed... gentle. Maybe Brad could be friends with him at the least?
"What's your name?" he asked eventually.
"It's Niko Henare, but you can call me Nik" the human replied. "And what's yours?"
"It's... Bradley Bearmon, but you can call me Brad" the digimon answered, then offered his paw to shake. Nik extended his hand and the two shook. Then, an amazing event happened.
The digivice in Nik's other hand shone bright. And Brad, who had been trying his hardest to train for evolution glowed with a bright light. Nik, startled, staggered backward in shock as the little 3'5" Bearmon grew to a giant that was easily nine, maybe ten feet in height. Then, the light faded, and standing before Nik was a giant purple bear digimon with a white belly and great big red gloves bearing long claws.
"I... evolved" Brad stated with disbelief. Nik was slightly frightened at the sight of the giant digimon, but was reassured by his gentle curious voice still remaining the same. "Nik... you really are my partner" he concluded. Then, with a small noise that sounded like a chuckle and a sob, Brad stepped forward and promptly hugged him.
"Aaagh! Brad! Ease up a bit will ya?!" Nik gasped at the sudden bear hug. He could no longer bear the weight of such a massive beast and promptly fell down backward. Brad almost landed on him, but stopped himself with his front paws on the platform.
"Oh! Nik! I'm sorry! Did I hurt you?!" Brad asked urgently, standing over him.
"Heh, nah, I've had worse tumbles than that" Nik said, grinning back up at the bear. "So... uh... what just happened Brad? How'd you suddenly... grow like that?"
"Well, I digivolved, that's all" Brad answered, circling around so that he was no longer standing on top of him. Nik then sat up to look at him. "I've been unable to do so before, but then you arrived, your digivice activated, and... that proves the deal I think!"
"Well, uh, alright, wow, didn't think I'd get a big bear buddy so quickly then" Nik remarked. Brad responded by licking his cheek, which made him giggle. Both of them were very happy. Even though they had only just met, this meeting felt like it had been a long time coming.
Then, Brad noticed the other human that was present. "Nik, who is that? Is he your friend?" he asked.
"Ah, yeah, Brad, this is Toki, he, uh, actually brought me to the digital world" he said. "He told me about digimon and, well, helped me meet you".
"Oh! In that case, hello, Toki, thank you for doing this" Brad said, smiling at the other human.

"As far as I know, Digimon don't form parent and child relationships like we do, though there are certainly those who understand the concept of family. Sometimes there are twin Digimon that stay together like siblings do, so they certainly form bonds and kinship in ways similar to us." he explained.
He chuckled at Nik's response to the idea of Trailmon "Trust me when I say there are a lot more Digimon like that. There are so many varieties it's really hard to keep track of them all sometimes. I find it exciting though. Who knows who you'll meet here?"
Toki leaned against the wall of the station as Nik tried to figure out how to approach the Bearmon. From here on it was up to Nik to figure out what he had to do. He smiled softly as the Bearmon spoke up and Nik approached to explain that he was probably his partner. The initial skepticism was to be expected given how it was so long. Actually, it completely went over Toki's head that Bearmon had waited for so much longer than Nik. It made this whole meeting even more long overdue for Bearmon.
The interaction between them was an amazing thing to witness. They eventually introduced themselves to each other and began to talk a little more openly. The sudden digivolution caught Toki off guard and he shielded his eyes from the bright light that followed. He opened his eyes to see the now digivolved Brad and his realization that Nik truly is his partner. He laughed when Brad proceeded to hug and topple over Nik out of pure joy.
He looked over at Nik and Brad before he decided that now was a good time to approach "Yep, digivolution. Digimon, when they're strong enough, can change forms into something more powerful. Once they reach a certain point they can freely change between their forms, though higher level ones require more energy to maintain. At least in my experience."
Toki and his spirit bowed politely when he was introduced "Toki Akiyama. It's nice to meet you. This is Antylamon, my spirit." he gestured to his spirit partner. "It's no problem at all, Brad. I'm just happy the two of you were finally able to meet. Now the two of you can truly begin your adventures together. Ah, right! Before I forget..." he took out his phone "We should exchange contact info. We're in this together, so if you need any help I'll do what I can to help out."
Antylamon smiled warmly at Nik and Brad "You seem like a really good match. I am glad for you both. The era of human and digimon working together was unfortunately after my time. I wonder what it would have been like if I met Toki while I was still whole." he pondered.
Toki looked up at him "There's a thought, huh? I kind of want to know what you were like back then...though admittedly, becoming a Digimon is pretty special in itself, isn't it?"
Antylamon chuckled "That it is. That it is not a burden for you is a relief."
Toki looked back at the new friends "So! Is there anything you want to do now that you guys have finally met?"

"Ahh, wow" Nik exclaimed. So, digimon had different ways of doing things, eh? Well, the concept of Trailmon was at least not lost on him. "Heh, honestly? I'm getting kinda excited at the thought. I really hope I can get to meet all the types of digimon out there". He said this without knowledge of those digimon that were truly bad, however, thinking that digimon was something in the sense of different types of interesting talking animals, machines and plants. He knew nothing of the Demon Lords or the Dark Area for instance.
After Nik and Brad accepted each other as partners, Toki said digivolution needed experience. With this, Nik smiled at Brad, stroking the fur on his cheek.
"Heh, if it's experience is what it takes, bro, then, I'm happy to spend whatever time it takes with ya" he said. "Well... assuming you can go back to the form you had a moment ago, I could easily have you live with me. If not, well, I'll find a way, I promise".
Brad simply nuzzled his head against Nik at these kind words. The young man chuckled at this silent affection. Honestly? He'd never thought at the start of the day that he'd meet someone as wonderful and friendly as Brad. And now that he had, that a year-long mystery had finally solved itself, it was so delightful.
They then turned their attention to Toki again. Nik stood back up - at his standing height he was at least as tall as Brad was when the Grizzmon was standing on all fours. Toki mentioned contact info. "Oh... right" he said. He reached in his pocket for his phone, but saw that it no longer seemed to work - its data glitching. "Oh... this isn't good" he muttered. Brad, however, was familiar with this issue.
"Hey, Nik, if you look in the pocket on my shoulder, you should find something" he said. Supposing it was alright, Nik did so, and drew a device that looked like something from the late 90's - a bulky pager device. "That's a D-Terminal, it's the most reliable way of communicating with other humans and digimon here" he explained. "I got it as soon as I found my- I mean... our digimental"
"Digimental?" Nik repeated, but soon navigated through the device enough to figure out its applications, including communication with other D-Terminals.
"Hey, Toki, do you have one of these?" Nik asked the Spirit user. Speaking of spirits, it seemed Antylamon hailed from a time before digimon and humans could become partners. At this thought, Nik felt a bit sympathetic. Was Antylamon truly something like a ghost digimon? Still present in the mortal plane, but unable to be whole like him or Brad?
Supposing that was probably a question that wasn't appropriate for the moment, Nik instead thought of a better question for the moment. And that he did. "So, uh, now that I've met Brad, what should we do next?" he asked. "I mean... is there an overall reason why I was drawn to this world and met Brad as my partner? Or... is this just a random thing that happens?". He was a bit unsure how to word this, but Brad didn't mind either way.

Nik's enthusiasm was good to see. It matched Toki's own when it came to looking for new kinds of Digimon to meet. "That'll be quite the journey. I should warn you though that not everything here in the Digital World is bright and adventurous...there are some dangerous places here and equally dangerous, aggressive Digimon you'll have to watch out for. So it's really important that you and Brad don't separate while you're here." he explained.
He watched their interaction for a moment before he said "Digimon can freely revert back to their previous forms if they so choose to or simply run out of energy to maintain their current ones. It would certainly be difficult to constantly hide a Digimon though, even if it was a Rookie stage. I don't have to worry about that as much as a spirit user."
Antylamon chuckled "I wouldn't say you have it much easier. I sometimes forget whether or not I'm even visible and that almost led to an awkward situation when we met Haru, remember?"
Toki blushed "Y-yeah, well...thankfully she knew about all of this." he said, a bit flustered. When Nik seemed to have trouble with his phone, he tilted his head a bit "That's odd...I don't think I had that issue with my phone. I hope that's not a permanent issue." he said. Then Brad showed Nik an alternative device for this. A D-Terminal. "Well actually, no. I don't. At least, I don't think so? I'll have to figure that one out while I'm here." he sighed.
Antylamon thought for a moment "We should stop by Terminus later and see if anyone there could help. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out." he suggested. "Still...I feel slightly embarrassed that I have not thought about this device before. It looks very useful and convenient. Better than a human phone for communication across worlds..."
Toki nodded at that and proceeded to answer Nik's next question "There's a lot you could do. When I first came here I explored a lot and saw some of the regions the world had to offer. I met new friends, practiced my spirit evolution, helped people fight when they needed it. It's a big world out there and it all depends on what you want to do with Brad by your side. As for an overall reason, I can't really say. Some people refer to us as 'Digidestined,' so I guess by some whim of fate we have been drawn here. For what purpose, I don't know, but I appreciate this opportunity."

Nik mulled over the fact that not everything in the digital world was friendly. Of course, that was a given, this was an alien land where some might not be so accommodating to humans. However, given that his first meeting with Brad had just gone so nicely, well, for the moment he felt that he was prepared to deal with things like that.
"Yeah, I don't plan on separating with Brad any time soon" he answered. "How about you, bro?" he asked his partner.
"Like heck am I going anywhere without you, partner" Brad responded. For the moment the Grizzmon was in a completely delighted state. He loved feeling Nik's fingers run through his fur. They then listened to Toki explain more about how digimon would revert to their earlier stages over time.
"Heh, that's a relief. If you stick to your Bearmon form you could totally live with me with no problems" Nik mentioned to Brad.
"That's wonderful to hear" the bear digimon responded.
Toki seemed to be confused by the D-Terminal. Antylamon seemed to have the right idea though. "Yeah, if ever I have an issue with a device, the mall in Terminus City seems to be the best place to solve it" Brad said.
As to the next question, Nik considered Toki's answer. Should they embrace their lives as warriors for the force of good? Should they make the world a better place? Well... best approach this slowly.
"What do you wanna do, Brad?" Nik asked. The Grizzmon pondered his answer, then turned back to him with a beastly smile.
"I just wanna spend time with you, Nik" he answered. "I mean... we've been apart for so long when we were meant to be partners... I want to learn about you and your world. I want to help protect the things you care about since I know you care about the things I want to protect, even if you haven't said, I can feel it..." he paused, then said what he wanted. "I want to know what it's like to have a human partner".
"Heh, well, I can give you all of that, Brad" Nik said, patting behind his neck. "I promise. That okay?"
"...thank you, Nik" Brad said, rubbing his muzzle against his partner. With this said, well, it seemed that was that then. But still, there seemed to be things to still be ironed out. "It... wouldn't be a problem if I lived with you, right? What about your parents?"
"Oh, no need to worry about that, I live in a single apartment" Nik assured him. He had moved out once he had finished high school and was delighted with the independence, even if the household income was a bit on the low side. But still, he had to know terms himself. "And, Brad, uh... bathrooms, do you... know...?"
"Ah! Those, yes of course I do, Nik" Brad giggled, understanding what the worry was about. "And I can wash myself too of course, but, you might need a bit more shampoo than usual" he chuckled.
"Of course" Nik said, beaming. Man, he was already really looking forward to life with Brad. He couldn't wait to get his Bear digimon partner home.

Toki nodded slightly when both Antylamon and Brad told him where to start in terms of getting a D-Terminal "I'll head on over at some point soon then. That's a place you'll want to check out too. It's close to the Trailmon station that will take you back to the Shibuya Terminal if you don't have a way to use the Digi-Port. It's actually a great place to get a feel for Digital World culture as well now that I think about it so it'd be a good experience either way."
He continued to watch the two of them bond and discuss their future and how they'll deal with bringing Brad to the human world. It looked like it would all work out as far as living conditions went. It made him wonder how those who weren't independent dealt with their digimon partners. Having to keep such an elaborate ruse for so long sounded like it would be absolutely exhausting.
Nik's endless determination to work together with Brad to make the most out of this long overdue journey was downright inspiring for Toki. "It's...really admirable how you two already get along. I'm not really good at being immediately so friendly, accepting and social with others."
"I wouldn't say that, Toki. Just look at how you met Nik. You approached him and struck a conversation, didn't you? You are far better than you give yourself credit for." Antylamon said to him.
Toki looked away a bit "He needed help, so I offered it. It's...just common courtesy to help someone who needs it." he said. He felt that anyone could have done this for Nik, so he didn't think too much of it.
He shook his head, not wanting to dwell on such a heavy thought. He tried to think about something else to say "So um...Brad, where were you planning to go? That is, if you don't mind me asking. You're really lucky we managed to get here before Trailmon did."

Nik listened as Brad and Toki mentioned the place to go next. "Ah, right, Terminus City... I take it that that's kind of a safe zone?" he asked. He wanted to make sure that a large civilization as a city would be safe for humans and not some foreboding place, but given the advice that Toki had given him so far had been delightfully positive he saw no reason to distrust him.
As Nik continued to dote over Brad, mostly out of guilt for this meeting having taken so long, he looked up as Toki remarked about it, mentioning how he wasn't so social with others. Nik knew at once not to judge him for this. He could totally understand - how withdrawing could protect oneself from things. But Brad had been so delighted to meet him and Nik was so delighted to meet Brad that the two of them were very eager to try and catch up with each other, to mutually make each others' lives better. Of course, this statement reminded him that moving forward too quickly might cause problems, and so he'd dial back a bit. A good thing too, since he was seconds away from giving Brad a nice big belly rub, which would have taken away several minutes of further time.
Nik thus listened in on the conversation between Toki and his spirit. He found himself siding with Antylamon. "That's true, Toki, I mean, you hardly knew anything about me, yet we seemed to get along enough for me to trust you" he smiled. "And you helped make this meeting between us happen, so, I'll give you my sincere thanks".
"Yeah, me too" Brad added. Following that talk, Toki asked where he was planning to go next. "Well, speak of the devil, I was planning to go back to Terminus City from here" he said. "I would've probably just hung around the Trailmon Terminal, but, I think those plans still hold..." he turned to Nik. "Would it... be okay if we go back to your world? Today?" he asked.
"Heh, no problems with that, bro" Nik smiled. "Just as long as you turn back to your old form before then, I can take you home".
Brad was delighted to hear. Furthermore, he could hear the sound of a machine approaching, metal wheels on metal track. The Trailmon was arriving! A minute later, the machine digimon had pulled up by the Village of Beginnings station, its carriage doors opening for passengers to embark and disembark.
"Well, guess this is our ride" Nik said to Toki. "Do you wanna come with us? We can get your D-Terminal sorted this way pretty quickly". The Trailmon was heading direct to Terminus after all.

Toki nodded when Nik asked if Terminus City was more or less a safe zone "Oh, for sure. It's probably one of the safer places here next to the Village of Beginnings. We shouldn't have to worry about trouble unless we cause it ourselves, which I doubt we'll do." he explained. He had been there once before, but never really took the time to explore it fully. He heard nothing but good things about the area, though.
He could tell the two of them had so much to catch up on now that they finally met. He smiled a little bit when Nik reaffirmed Antylamon's words of wisdom "H-hey...I appreciate that. I'm trying my best to sort of...break out of my shell, but it's been a long road. The amount of people I've met and spoken to in these past few months is...well, honestly more than I've met my entire first year in Shibuya. That I keep in contact with, anyway."
The gratitude from the both of them made Toki beam proudly for the moment. He did a good thing for these two so he should be proud of that "You're welcome! Both of you. Once I saw Nik with a Digivice I couldn't just stay away. I had to do something to help out."
It seemed that Brad was eager to visit the Human World with Nik, not that he could blame him. To see the world his new partner is from must have been extremely exciting. Toki looked over to the distance when he heard the Trailmon come into the station "Well looks like we had a bit of time to spare, but here's Trailmon."
When Nik asked if Toki wanted to go with them to Terminus, he thought about it for a moment. He didn't have anywhere else to be, so he nodded in agreement "Sure, I'll come along. This seems like the sort of thing I don't want to hold off on." he said. He waited for Trailmon to open its doors before stepping inside. He waved Nik and Brad inside "Alright, let's get a move on, shall we?"

Those words came as something of a relief to Nik. "Heh, nice. Here I was being worried that a big city full of aliens might have problems, but... eh, now that I know Brad here, I can hardly think of you guys as 'aliens', eh?" he asked. "I mean, you speak my language, you're nice, we get along well right?"
"Well... to be fair, there's still lots to go by before we can say we completely 'get along'" Brad said, thinking it was necessary to get that fact clear for the moment. But he smiled a moment later. "Not that I foresee any impediments to that" he chuckled.
Toki mentioned that he was going through a process of breaking through his shell. Nik thought he might be able to help there. "That's alright, Toki. Say, seeing as we both live in Shibuya, how about we hang around sometime?" he offered. "Brad could tag along pretending to be a teddy bear..."
"Or I could wear a holosuit" Brad ventured. Before Nik could ask what that was, Brad explained. "It's a special holographic illusion that allows a digimon to look like a human, so we can hang out with you on Earth without gaining attention".
"Oh wow, that sounds neat" Nik said, brightly. "Can we get those in Terminus too?"
"Oh yes, of course" Brad smiled. As the Trailmon pulled up at the platform, they climbed aboard, at least Nik did. Brad had trouble fitting in the door, giving him no choice but to de-digivolve back to his Bearmon form.
"Whew, nailed it" Brad said, grinning as he plopped down on a leather bound seat in the carriage. Nik sat next to him. And it seemed that Toki would accompany them too. So, the doors of the carriage closed, and the Trailmon set on his way back West to the city.
"Been a while since I've been on a train" Nik remarked, looking eagerly out the window, taking in the countryside. As pretty and pristine as the lands of the Eastern Timberlands were, however, they were nothing compared to the hillsides and forests of New Zealand. At least in his own tragically patriotic opinion anyway.
"You travelled much by train, Toki?" Nik asked out of curiosity.

Nik's open-minded view on Digimon was nice to see. "I'm glad you share my opinions on that, Nik. Digimon are people as much as we are. We can speak, we can think, we have dreams and aspirations..." he said, though he looked a bit flustered "Sorry, I'm kind of passionate about this subject. I have a few really close friends here in the Digital World, so I want to do what I can for their image, you know? Though sometimes I worry I'm getting worked up over nothing."
Toki looked really happy when Nik offered to hang out in the Human World sometime "Yeah, I'd like that! I love my time here in the Digital World, though sometimes I do feel like I should be spending more time back home." he admitted. He looked at Brad when he mentioned Holosuits "I've heard of those, actually...I can't recall if I've ever seen a Digimon wear one. Though I guess that's the point. Huh, I wonder how many Digimon I've passed by during my time in Shibuya now that I think of it."
Antylamon spoke up "Probably a lot more than we both realize. I keep sensing faint signatures but I could never pinpoint where they are exactly. To Digimon it must be as exciting to see the human world as it is for humans to see the digital world. From what I've seen I cannot blame them. It's a fascinating place full of very interesting people."
Toki smiled a bit "I can see it that way, for sure. Our respective worlds must seem so new and interesting to each other." he said. When they were all settled in the Trailmon, Toki sat across from Nik and Brad "I take the train to get to my university. It's always so crowded, so having something like this be so spacious is a welcome change of pace." he said as he looked out one of the windows "This world has so many interesting sights. It's kind of a goal of mine to see everything the Digital World has to offer."
He looked over at Nik "So now that you've met Brad, what are your thoughts? I'd love to listen to what you think of the Digital World. It's part of both of our lives now, so to compare what we think of it would be fun I think."

Digimon were the same as humans? Well... given that Brad seemed to hold an intellect closer to that of a human than an animal, well, he was inclined to believe that. In fact he felt rather priveliged to be able to speak to another living being like this.
"Ah, that's no problem bro" Nik grinned as Toki grew a little self aware of his enthusiasm. But his grin faded a little. "There's... not much people who dispute that is there?" he asked, hoping that wasn't the case - where there were humans that were set about de-legitimizing digimon as sentient beings.
He was glad at the idea of hanging out with Toki back in Tokyo. Nik didn't have much friends there, so making one seemed like an excellent prospect. That he hadn't heard of digimon with holosuits made it all the more appealing for Brad to get one. "Well, guess they're as good as their warranty states" Brad said, chuckling.
Toki then remarked it was good to have a bit of space on the train, especially when compared to the typical peak hour cram in Tokyo. "Yeah, the Trailmon here generally have a lot of space to the regions" Brad explained. Simply because there wasn't nearly as much digimon as there were humans in the real world.
As the Trailmon travelled west toward Terminus, Nik considered Toki's question about what he thought about the digital world. "Well... it kinda feels like it is - a whole new world to live in and explore" he said. "Before today I was kinda unsure about what direction I wanted to go in, but now, I think I know. I... kinda want to get to know about digimon more. And help you guys out a lot more" he patted Brad's back as he said this.
"I'd be really happy if you did that" Brad answered, smiling back up at him.
