"Just don't have a panic attack. Count backwards from one-hundred if you need too. I know this is a lot to take in. At least you're not having to do so while being under attack." Cas coached even as she set the two bowls of tea in front of the little digimon with their straws. the Caprimon hopping right up to sip on his even as the Sakuttomon nudged Cassandra's arm looking plaintively at the waffles.
"Ok ok." Cas muttered fishing the plate down and stabbing the fork through a decent chunk of the fluffy breakfast pastries and holding it out for Dagger to take a bite of. Cleaning to fork expertly he to turned to his tea. At Cole's question on whether they could speak or not Cloak let out a soft snort before turning his attention to the waffles.
"I can't believe you think he might be our partner." Cloak muttered only to find waffles shoved into his mouth by Cas.
"Shush you and be nice. He's new to this." She scolded earning a rather sour, but accepting look from the little Caprimon even as Dagger turned towards Cole with a frown.
"Hey we can talk! We're not some dumb brutes you know!" He cried out clearly disgruntled by the idea that he thought them dumb enough to be unable to talk.
"Honestly the better question would be if they ever shut up." Cas joked reaching out to pat each of their head affectionately as the pair shot her a disgruntled look clearly not liking the teasing. "But yes they're from the digital world. They can't remember how they got here, but I found them at the same location or near the same location listed on your map. So I thought maybe they're meant for you?" She explained with a light shrug.

Cas's 'coaching' was a bit...unnecessary, but Cole simply let it go. What was a bit harder to let go was the sass from Cloak, garnering a stern glance from Cole...But probably lucky for everyone involved, Cole couldn't stay mad at the little guy...just a fluffball. Oh if only Cole knew the dangerous things these Digimon could become. His attention would then be brought to Dagger, crying out that they could indeed talk. "I wouldn't call you guys dumb brutes...just here in...our world only humans can talk. Don't take it to heart ok...?" he said, oddly showing a gentler side of Cole...no one should get used to this, but they was so...well, cute. He couldn't deny it, even as a rather cynical guy...
His eyes averted to Cas once she begun to speak again, even a quiet chuckle coming from the young man when she said the comment about them never shutting up. After hearing where she found him his expression shifted to that of question. "...Thats strange. Then again all this is. But...if that was true, why does the devic--...digi...vice..."--Cole was clearly still gripping these strange names with the 'digi' prefix--"show there and not here. Hmm..." Cole pondered a moment before standing, slowly stepping over towards the two Digimon.
"Cloak and Dagger right? Look...I'm new to all this, this thing just appeared earlier and your friend Cas here told me what she knows about it but its not much...do you guys have any idea about this thing or what the red dot means?" Cole would ask the Digimon, slowly knelling down a few feet from them--still clearly cautious with them--his hand extending out to offer the black and blue D3 into the view of the digimon, even within reach for them to come up to touch it. 'I mean...it can't hurt to ask right?' he thought to himself, even though he felt weird talking to something...none human. "...Maybe it'd react if its meant for either of them?" Cole would suggest, glancing up from his knelling position to the short woman...needless to say, he wasn't looking to far up.

Cloak, the Caprimon paused in his breakfast to hop a little closer to Cole giving him a rather skeptical look before turning his attention to the digivice. Leaning forward his little black nose twitched as he sniffed the screen before making a face. "It's not mine." He stated with a bit of flair and finality as he twitched his tail and turned bounding back over to Cas and leaning against her legs where she sat as he vied for her attention earning some more waffles and a few strokes of her hand over his helmeted head for his efforts.
"Well at least you didn't try to bite him." She muttered content at least that no ill had come from the encounter as Dagger eyed Cole with a frown.
"Guess I should try, but I don't think you're going to have any luck. I already know who my human is." He stated proudly earning a low hiss from his twin as the Caprimon glared at him watching as the Sakuttomon strutted up to the digivice sniffing it before lightly bopping it with his forehead. Nothing happened.
"Not me." He cheered happily before scurrying over to join his brother on Cas's other side earning a sigh from the woman.
"Well it was worth a try. Then again they've never seen a digivice before so who really knows?" She explained with a shrug as she settled into feeding them since they lacked hands. The pair eventually devouring the entire plate of waffles and then some of Cas's when she rose to make her own and found she couldn't finish them. Leaving the little creature full and happily dozing draped over her legs where the Doctor sat on the floor leaned against the coffee table.
"Maybe your digimon is wherever that mark is? That or maybe you're a spirit user or something? I suppose we won't know till we go there." She mused scratching Dagger lightly between his blades earning a pleased rumble from the little digimon even as Cloak disliking the attention his twin was receiving wriggled into her lap to curl his tail about himself and settle against her stomach making a noise akin to a purr.

It took a moment, but one by one the two Digimon would approach...Cole hoped he didn't loose any fingers in this exchange. But just as they came up, they'd declare their answers and return to Cas. Cole sighed, but he didn't expect much. He'd stand back upright once Dagger had returned over to Cas and Cole stepped back over to where he'd been sitting, taking his seat. "Yeah, was worth a shot..." he'd say, agreeing with Cassandra on it being worth a try. He'd go on to finish his food--not wanting to let her...'cooking' if it could be called that, go to waste. Everyone probably needed the break really...the past 12 or so hours of Cole's life had been...well--eventful to say the least..
After finishing the waffles the man would take his plate to the sink and wash it off--he knew syrup was no fun to get off once it dried up and it's be outright rude to not do it or to make her do it. Cole was maybe not the friendliest guy...but no one could say he wasn't at least polite and well mannered...ya'know...for a bit of an unfriendly prideful cynical sarcastic asshole.((Lol))
He'd sit back on the bar stool and take a drink from the cup of tea, hearing Cas speak up. He'd nod, there was only one way to know. The man would sigh softly and take the last drink from the cup of tea. "Yeah...won't know until I find out for myself." he'd say as he stood, bringing the cup over to the sink before moving to retrieve his bloody shirt that had contained the digivice only a bit earlier. He tossed the shirt over his shoulder and looked over to Cassandra as he stood with his side to her. "...Thanks Cas, I'm not sure how last night would've went had you not come along...maybe let me take you out for a more fancy dinner then takeout next time."
His eyes averted to the two Digimon...a small smile crossed the jaded man's features. "...I hope you can get them home, but something tells me they are already home..." he'd say to Cas, looking back up to her. He'd nod and turn away, starting to walk towards the door. "Hope to see ya' again sometime..." he'd say as he started out the door. His objective was to follow this device...why not...his life had nothing to spice it up, maybe this could change that. If only he knew what he was getting into...maybe someone should come with him to keep the reckless man in check and to keep him from accidentally killing himself.

"Hold up I promised to walk you out otherwise you might just get jumped again!" Cas called out carefully divesting herself of two disgruntled digimon as she leaped to her feet chasing after him to grab his uninjured arm and halt his exit. She certainly didn't want him ending up right back here and the idea of him rushing off to follow the map with no backup seemed like a rather poor idea to her.
"Just give me a second to get dressed and pack these two up and I'll come with you. Sides they've been dying to get out and about and if you do have a partner waiting for you at the end of that map they might be injured or in distress. it'd be wise to have other digimon to calm them down just in case." She argued tugging him back away from the door and back towards his seat at the island.
"Just wait right here. Cloak, Dagger, don't let him rush off while I'm getting ready will yeah?" She asked the two digimon who's naps Cole had summarily ruined as the pair let out a grumbled affirmative.
"Well....*yawn* keep and eye on him Hime." Muttered Cloak from where he'd settled his nose resting on his own tail as he watched Cole with glittering gold half-lidded eyes. Dagger was perhaps a bit less put together, but more enthusiastic as he wobbled a bit from sleep, but trotted towards the door to sit down in front of it forcing Cole to have to go around him to get out.
"Nothing will get past me Cas!" He declared earning an amused snort from the woman as she ducked back into her bedroom. She wouldn't however, be gone long returning this time in a long-sleeved turtleneck, her usual cargo pants and boots, and an olive drab leather bomber jacket with a slightly battered leather backpack thrown over her shoulder.
"Ok it might be a bit tight, but this will keep you two out of sight for the moment." She explained bending to scoop Cloak up and deposit him into the bag quickly followed by his twin. The two digimon peaking out over her shoulders as she settled the bag onto her back and turned to Cole.
"All right lead the way." She motioned with a smile before glancing back at the twins who took that as their cue to hide.

Cole was how he was and her verbal attempt to stop him didn't even cause a pause, but once he felt her grip onto his arm he'd turn to look at her--listening to her say to give her a minute and explain her reasoning. He grumbled and sighed but let her tug him back in and sat back down, placing his elbow on the counter and resting his head in his hand as she asked the two 'mon to keep him from going anywhere...like they could really stop him. The man was 6'2" and fairly muscular, what could a furball with horns and a golden snitch with knives do to stop him?...On second thought, scratch that.
Cole would wait it out though, she returned a moment later after changing and grabbing a backpack...well thats one way to haul the twins around. He'd stand back up after she collected the two and stuffed them into the bag--the girl exclaiming for him to lead the way. He'd without saying anything walk, stepping past her. He made his way out of the building, holding the doors for Cas along the way, leading them out to the street. He'd look at the digivice...another marker had appeared--something to show their current position. "...Well thats new but helpful." he'd mutter, looking over to Cas.
"You sure you want to come? I can do this on my own you know..." he'd say, not even really giving her time to answer before he turned and begun walking, following the marker. The man had some things to learn but could one blame him for being how he was--the man had been alone for years, he always did everything himself...and that scarred his view on the world. He'd keep walking, they'd soon be leaving the rather run down district behind, slowly the buildings transitioning as they'd head towards the river. "...So why do you think Cloak and Dagger are for someone else Cassandra?" he'd ask as they walked, breaking the silence.

As Cas headed downstairs she'd carefully lock up the clinic as she went and made sure the sign was flipped to closed. Jogging after him she found much to her irritation at his quick pace she was forced to take two steps to his one as she made it a point to wave to some of her neighbors both identifying herself and letting them know she wasn't in her office at the moment as the two meandered out of the district.
"Slow...Slow down. I don't have as long of legs as you." Cas barked out reaching out to snag Cole by the belt to slow his pace even as she shot him a look of irritation at him rushing off like that. "Hold your horses. The dot is still there. We're in no huge rush." She huffed out urging him towards the subway entrance.
"I don't think Cloak and Dagger are meant for anyone. They're their own beings. Just because I tolerate them doesn't mean I have to be bonded with them. I'm pretty friendly with another Digimon by the name of Gazi and we're not partners either. Now come on we need to take a train if we run there it'll take us all day." She explained pulling out her train pass to swipe it over the gates as it let her through.
"Sides I found them scared and alone with no memory of who they were or how they got here. They've just latched onto me because I've been kind to them and am the only stable connection they have. It'd be despicable of me to take advantage of them like that." Cas added waiting for Cole to swipe his own train pass before the two caught the right subway line towards central Shibuya and the river.

It wasn't too long into walking he'd find himself yanked up by his belt to try to slow him down, the man casting a look over his shoulder to Cas but it was only met with her equally irritated look. He'd huff a sigh and walk a bit slower for her sake. She was tugging him towards the subway--he hated the subway and had many reservations against getting on it...but she was right--it'd take a long time to walk across town.
Cole followed her down into the subway station, listening to her answer to his question--approaching the gate and watching her use her pass to get through...the tall man simply hopped it after a quick glance around to make sure no security was watching. He'd let her lead the way at this point due to his disdain for public transport, she likely knew her way around better then he did. "...You said some have partners but you've never seen one, I'm not meaning it like ownership." he'd explain as they would make it onto the train platform--catching the train that'd take them the right way.
After getting on the train Cole would spot out the most secluded spot, an empty half of a car near the end of the train. The man would take a seat at the very back, kicking back and putting his foot up on one of the bars for standing passengers to hold onto, crossing his arms. "...Hate subways." he griped quietly. "...Still, they clearly like you Cas...but what do I know I guess--you know more then me about this shit." Cole huffed as he cast a glance in Cas's direction while the train took off from the station. This would be a lot faster luckily.
"...Must have been rough for them. I'm sure they are glad to have met you..." he'd quietly comment in a more sincere tone, talking about how she had found the twins alone and scared...not knowing where they was or even who they was...but they seemed to be getting along nicely since meeting Cas. He looked out the window--watching as a blur of darkness and every now and then a light whooshed by.

"I know they do, but I don't want them to pick me because I'm their only choice." She murmured softly pulling a bit of a face at Cole's griping, but reserving her comments for another time. The subway in her opinion was safer then walking and risking getting jumped or further delayed. Still on the subject of the little digimon she would shrug lightly.
"They were...not in great shape when I found them. I hope if you have a partner waiting for you they're in better condition. Though at this point you now know as much as I do. We're both flying blind from here on out." Cas explained glancing up to the subway map to double check their stop before she rose gripping the standing bar tightly. Ever since that incident on the train tracks she'd never quite felt secure on the subway again.
"This is our stop." Cas muttered motioning for Cole as she exited the train pausing to tug him into a slightly quieter corner.
"Check the map. Are we getting close or do we need to head to the river proper?" She asked hoping that the dot meant near Shibuya river rather then the refuse heap they called one.

"You don't give yourself enough credit Cas, maybe you found them because you was meant to..." he'd comment on her still turning away from the possibility that maybe the twins was meant for her. But he wouldn't push on this subject anymore, there was no point if she refused to listen. Finally the train stopped at another rather crowded station and Cole would rise from his seat, exiting the subway train behind Cas and she'd tug him to a corner away from prying eyes and ears. Her question about the map would prompt him to pull the Digivice back from his pocket. He held it up so they both could see it, eyes narrowing trying to look at it...Cole probably could use reading glasses.
"Well we're a lot closer now...but yeah its still showing towards the river itself." he'd say after examining the map--red dot--and the light blue arrow that showed their own position. It had moved, the red hadn't. Made sense. Cole would keep it in his hand but cupped the digivice so it was out of sight for the most part as he'd start walking--at a pace the shorter woman could keep up with--leading them above ground and into the Central Shibuya District. With a glance at the digivice Cole turned and begun walking--this was of course in the exact direction of the river...even with his more limited knowledge of the city's layout he knew where the river was.
"...So what if this is just a wild goose chase...We get there and find literally nothing." asked Cole, glancing over his shoulder to look at Cas as he walked. He sighed and looked forward again. "Nevermind...I guess it won't matter at that point." he'd continue, dismissing his own question. It'd be a number of blocks but overall didn't take to long to reach the river...it wasn't the best, surely not somewhere one might wanna swim--thats for sure. He glanced at the Digivice.
"Seems its a bit more this way..." he'd inform her, turning to walk along the banks of the river, again walking slower then he would just to not strain her...being fair she'd been lugging around a backpack with not one, but two Digimon in it...and despite the idea of Data in their name, he bet they still held weight. He'd offer to take over for her...but doubt the twins would be happy about that, so he just kept to himself as he walked. Finally...he stopped...his hand with the digivice in it dropped, and he glanced around...context would likely tell Cas that they was there...looking around, there was nothing standing out, and his digivice simply fell quiet, going dark.
"...Guess it is just a wild goose chase."

Shibuya 'river' was as disgusting and horrible as Cas remembered it as the Doctor's nose scrunched up in disgust. There was no rain to hide the smell now and with the recent downpour the area stank of molding garbage even as Cas carefully picked her way over the treacherous footing. Careful not to snag herself on an old tire or plastic as she walked. The last thing she wanted was to tumble into the disgusting trench of garbage of all things as she closed in on Cole watching his shoulders slump in disappointment as she looked around.
"Don't get discouraged they could still be here and we just don't see them. Cloak and Daggere were stuck~" She began only to let out a yipe of surprise as it felt like something grabbed her ankle sending her tumbling forward as she jerked her foot free with a sharp panicked jab. It was too late however, unbalanced she flailed reaching out to catch Cole's arm to try to steady herself as the man himself turned, but while her grip was true the slick footing did nothing to keep either of them upright as the pair tumbled down into the river.

Cole was just beginning to turn around, pretty much given up at this point--when he'd hear the 'yelp' from Cas, turning just in time to see her loosing her footing among the mud and trash--this place was rather nasty...and sadly they was gonna find out first hand. Cole tried to catch her as she snagged onto one his his arms, his hand gripping her forearm to try to help keep her up--but all this did was take both of them down as just at that moment, a small slip came of his own foot, and they'd both take the unpleasant plunge into the trench of trash below.
Crush, Smash, Crash.
Cole and Cas would hit the trench and almost like its name suggested, they went under. It was almost like a river--just...wasn't. They sank, Cole would try to climb back up but its like he never could find any footing, everything just shoved out of their way as they sank into the trash. What the hell was going on? This was horrible...Just as it seemed like quicksand, something would change, and the group of four would find themselves...somewhere 'new'... (To be continued in another thread, Crossing the Divide Pt. 2.)
