Cassandra stiffened at first at the kiss her hands resting flat against Cassius's chest as she froze in his grip her mind seeming to have trouble catching up with the Thief's actions and for the first time Cassius leaves her speechless. Then slowly she melts into him her hands sliding down his side. Her lips are soft and warm against his and her form fits snug against his own like to pieces of a matching puzzle. Even as she gasps slightly against his mouth lips parting as she toys with his own lower lip with one her fangs her eyes closed as she forces herself to relax. Praying the Thief doesn't feel her deft fingers lifting her Digivice from his pockets.
It takes everything in Daggers power to tackle his twin who lunges forward forcing the Zubamon to pin the Kotemon to the floor lest the little swordsman attempt to gut Cassius with his sword. It's only as he sees the familiar gleam of their digivice that his fury clears enough from his mind to realize the Tamer's plan.
"You're right Cassius I was running from the truth." She whispered as she pulled back lips kiss bruised, but eyes sharp as her voice rolls over the Thief like silk. "I was afraid. Afraid for myself. Afraid for Cloak and Dagger so I complied, but now two digimon are dead for my cowardice." The woman murmured as the digivice in her hands began to glow as she stepped back the egg behind Cassius glowing even brighter.
"And while I still feel fear I'm not afraid of you anymore." Cassandra spoke as the egg and digivice exploded into light causing the woman's eyes to widen in surprise as the symbol of courage lit up on the devices screen likely alerting not only Cassius of her ploy, but his digimon as well.

To Cassius' surprise, Cas embraced them as they kissed. He feels her hands running down his body. Little did he know that Cas was using this opportunity to take her Digivice back. Cassius was delighted that Cas seems to enjoy their kiss. His lower lip was sore from her nibbling with her fangs, but it just made it more intense.
Dagger had to tackle Cloak to prevent him from attacking Cassius. Cas reveals that she knows the thief killed two guards. She says that she is not afraid anymore, and it becomes clear to Cassius what is going on. His heart sinks as his love rejects him.
"But, Cas, I had no choice! We can be together. Don't do this."
Cassius backs up, creating distance. He takes out his Digivice, and Seadramon appears, surrounding his Tamer to protect him. Seadramon lets out a low shriek, weary of fighting Cloak and Dagger. Cassius is unaware of the egg that is reacting to Cas' Digivice.
"I don't want to fight you. Let's just take the treasure and leave. Don't make me hurt you."
He still had the taste of her lips on his, and here they are about to battle. Cassius had no choice but to endure the pain of being betrayed. Just when it seemed as though all is well, Cas had enough of his evil ways. It was time to settle this.

Sighing Cassandra closed her eyes even as Cloak and Dagger stepped in front of her shielding their Tamer from Seadramon and Cassius. Cutting the Thief off from the petite Doctor. She didn't want to see him. Didn't want to look upon the hurt in his green green eyes, but she did forcing her own eyes open to gaze upon him. There is a softness their depths as the woman extends one gloved hand out to him.
"You don't have to do this either Cassius. You know this is wrong." She murmurs softly voice carrying in the quiet of the vault.
"We could just leave. You don't have to go down this path. You could be so much more." Cassandra spoke eyes pleading as she offered him her hand searching the man's black heart for that spark of something more she knew was there. "Just take my hand." She whispered lowering herself for the first time since her Digimon have ever known her to plead. To plead for Cassius to turn away from his own greed. To try to be something, someone more.

Cassius found himself facing a moral crisis. Cas has given him a chance to turn away from his dark path. He didn't have to loot the vault. But could he really trust her? Would he choose Cas over his own greed? Cassius reaches out to Cas' hand, her covered hand just out of reach.
"I, I would give all this up to be with you. But, why can't I have the treasure as well? If that if what you want, I will abandon my old life. No amount of wealth is worth it to me to see you hurt. I'm sorry!"
The thief's greed had consumed him, but were his feelings for Cassandra stronger? This was his shot at turning his life around. Suddenly, the smooth criminal has a change of heart. He couldn't deny his true feelings. The amount of wealth in this room is near immeasurable. He thinks that Cas is just messing with him.
"No, this treasure is mine! I am a master thief! You have tricked me before, but I won't let you deceive me again! Curse your beauty!"
Cassius would have to confront his feelings for Cas. As much as part of him wanted to make her pay, a larger part wanted to protect her. No, he had to defeat Cas to truly redeem himself. It was the only way to free himself from his desires. Seadramon stretches his neck up, firing an ice blast at the trio at close range.

"No!" Dagger screamed out as Cas's hand faltered her eyes going wide as the ice blast hurtled towards them as the crest of courage emblazoned upon her Digivice seemed to explode outwards the little Zubamon becoming encased in light as he leaps forward heedless of his own safety to meet the blast. Seeing not ice, but familiar fire and the screams of his injured Tamer. He would not sit idly by and witness the same mistake as his form shifts, grows...changes. Shedding his rookie form till it is not Dagger the Zubamon leaping toward the blast, but a gleaming golden warrior. As the new digimon draws his twin swords in a blink of an eye lashing out in an uppercut that sends a vacuum of air slicing through the the ice blast parting it harmless on either side of his Tamer and twin. Grademon had entered the fray. "I will not stand idly by and watch my Tamer be harmed ever again." The armored ultimate Digimon rumbled out leveling his blade at the offending Thief and Seadramon.
Dagger Armor Digivolves to Grademon Dagger Uses: -Slice The Sky: Grademon slices the air in an uppercut launching a razorsharp vacuum of wind at his enemy that can cleave into even chrome digizoid armor. Cooldown three turns.

As Seadramon's ice flies towards Cas, Dagger would come to the rescue. The Zubamon Digivolves to Grademon, the golden knight. Grademon slices the ice in two, keeping Cas and Cloak safe. Cassius grabs a hold of Seadramon, and the sea serpent retreats towards the far side of the room to create distance. Seadramon builds up energy, and releases a chilling mist. As the mist settles, it creates a thin sheet of ice on the floor, mostly in the center. Cassius wasn't going to let Cas and the twins stand in his way of wealth.
"I trusted you! We could of held this world by the throat together. Your morals mean nothing to me."
Seadramon lurks among the treasure, knocking over piles of gold and rare artifacts. If it had come to this, then Seadramon would not let his Tamer down. All the planning, the deceptions, the outfits, what was it all for if Cas was going to let the lives of a couple of guards stop Cassius from the biggest payday of his career? He wanted to be with Cas, but he wants the treasure as well. Is this what it would take to free Cassius' mind from Cas' influence over him? Did they have to confront each other in battle to settle this? Maybe only one of the Tamers would be leaving the royal vault in tact.
"The time has come, Cassius. You will be able to go back to your old self now. Cas, call off this fight and let us leave with the treasure. Do not force me to harm you."

"No Cassius." Cas calls out her fists trembling with anger and sorrow as her eyes track the Thief in his retreat. The cool touch of the mist on her skin causing her to shiver as ice creeps cross the floor.
"You can't keep living like this. You can't keep stealing and killing and murdering to get by. One day...." And despite her fury at this man who had hurt her, who had taunted her, she finds her throat tightened with emotion. "One day it will catch up to you." Cassandra murmurs as Grademon eyes the ice coated floor with contempt his royal red gaze tracking the large serpent as it moves.
"I believe that day is today." The Golden Knight rumbled out as his swords singing for blood the edges of them glowing with blue energy as he sends a blade of power rocketing towards Seadramon. Should it make contact it would explode.
Dagger Uses: -Bunker Buster: The Digimon swords glow with blue energy as they slash them forward launching a slicing blade of power at their opponent that explodes upon contact. Cooldown four turns.
-Madness of War: For every two turns Grademon is engaged in combat the power of his attacks increase by ten percent. By thirty percent he is no longer capable of sparing his opponent and will kill them even if ordered not to. By fifty percent he is no longer capable of discerning friend or foe and will fight anyone whom attacks him. By seventy percent Grademon will begin actively attacking and seeking to destroy any living being friend or foe within the radius of his senses. At one-hundred percent Grademon is now lost to a mindless rage. The power and side-effects of Madness of War will wear off after five consecutive posts where Grademon is not currently in combat or when all opponents friend or foe have been eliminated.

He couldn't keep living like this? It would catch up to him? Says who? Cassius played by his own rules. It was survival of the fittest, hunt or be hunted. Grade's Bunker Buster rockets towards the chilly duo and explodes. Seadramon's side is badly damaged, and Cassius is sent flying back. As he lays there on the ground, his mind fades into a semiconscious state where he sees visions of his past.
He was just a boy, and already he had an appetite for stealing. He finds himself in a grocery store, and reaches out to steal a candy bar. When his father found out, the man beat Cassius with a belt. He couldn't help but steal, as he was a kleptomaniac. He would later go on to cover his tracks, becoming very skilled at taking things that didn't belong to him. Stealing from friends, teachers, family, and neighbors. He recalls a time with Betamon sitting inside a stolen delivery truck filled with merchandise. He smiles as he takes a bite from a candy bar and tosses the wrapper aside.
There was good memories, and bad memories. But then, there was Cassandra. The woman who was able to turn away from that kind of life. She has intelligence, beauty, and the healing touch. There was but one Cas in the world, and Cassius wants to be with her. But would he give up his lifestyle for her? Cassius' mind comes to, as he lays on the ground.
"Cassandra! Just one more time. All this gold, all of these diamonds. How can you walk away from something like this?"
Seadramon swings his tail, generating a tidal wave of water flowing across the vault. Treasure is sent tossing and turning by the wave, as the attack heads towards Grademon. Cassius had not given in, and neither would Seadramon.

"Because its blood money Cassius. Money is a means to an ends, but to you...to you it's everything." Cas explained biting her lip in anger and pain even as she swept her eyes over the gold surrounding them. More money then she'd ever seen before in her life, but what good would it do her when it drove people mad?
"You're willing to kill for it. To burn this whole world down for it, but what can it give you when all you're left standing in is ashes!" She yelled out in fury wishing she could batter down his walls with volume alone even as her eyes widened at the tidal wave of water sent ripping towards them.
"Go! I've got Hime!" Cloak barked out to Dagger his own form glowing, cracking, shattering to reform itself as Cas's digivice exploded once more with light. The pair though where no longer in the Tidal waves path as Cloak now a Baalmon scooped Cassandra up into a bridal carry and leaped his form flickering as the pair alighted high up upon one of the upper ledges of the vault out of reach of the raging water.
Giving his brother solemn nod Dagger would turn eyes bright as his own form seemed to flicker before the tidal wave impacted him full force. "DAGGER!!!!!!" Cas screamed out the digimon's name ripping itself from her throat in an ugly desperate sound of fear and agony even as Baalmon attempted to comfort the struggling woman in his arms.
"Shhh shhh Hime he's ok. He's ok look." The Demon Digimon that shared his Tamer's eyes murmured pointing one gloved finger out and true to his words like a shooting star Grademon flickered into existence behind the Tidal wave launching himself towards Seadramon with a vicious snarl aiming to impact the seafaring Digimons face with his clawed feet in a flying kick.
Cloak Armor Digivolves to Baalmon Cloak Uses: -Flicker Step: The Digimon moves at speeds difficult to see appearing to teleport from one place to another within range of of it's sight allowing it to cleanly dodge an attack. Cooldown two turns.
Dagger Uses: -After Image: Grademon moves at such a high speed he leaves an afterimage of himself in his place. Fooling his enemies into believing they have struck true with their attacks when they have hit only air. Cooldown three turns. -Madness of War: For every two turns Grademon is engaged in combat the power of his attacks increase by ten percent. Cas raised some good points. Cassius would go too far in his pursuit of riches. What of his victims? Did he even care about the people he hurt? The tidal wave roars towards Cas and Cloak, but Cloak Digivolves to Baalmon, and carries the doctor to safety. Grademon was too fast to get caught up in the wave, moving so fast it leaves an after image. The golden knight strikes Seadramon with the claws on his feet, targeting the sea serpent's face.
Cassius and Seadramon found themselves up against the odds. Grademon and Baalmon were in another league compared to Seadramon.
"The jig is up, Cassius. We've lost." "Argh, it's not over yet! I didn't come this close just to let it slip through my fingers!"
The tidal wave crashes against the wall, sending the water flowing back. Cassius and Seadramon are caught up in the wave of water and treasure. Cassius finds himself battered and bruised by incoming pieces of loot he wanted to possess so bad. As the water level lowers, Cassius finds himself buried under a pile of gold. Due to injuries, and with Cassius injured, Seadramon reverts down to Betamon, checking on his Tamer.
"No! Cassius!"
The thief's arm is sticking up out of the mound of treasure. Cassius coughs up some water. Betamon frantically tries to uncover him, tossing the treasure aside to get to his Tamer. Cassius lays there on the ground, surrounded by gold that was useless to him. Betamon turns to Cas and Cloak.
"You got to help him! I am done fighting with you. I don't want the gold if it means Cassius has to pay the ultimate price. Please, just get us out of here."

Vaulting off of Seadramon's face as his kick impacted Grademon flipped backwards landing elegantly on his feet as the water rushed in around him trapping the enemy Tamer as his Digimon de-evolved. Leveling one golden sword at Cassius and Betamon for a long silent moment the armored digimon weighed their lives his red eyes seeming to be searching the pairs soul.
"Let them go Dagger." Cas called out voice cracking slightly with both relief that her Digimon was safe and worry for his sudden silence.
"They hurt you Cas. He hurt you. He keeps hurting you." Dagger growled out soft low and deadly as reluctantly Baalmon allowed Cassandra to slip from his grip the little Tamer rushing forward to reach out with one slim hand to place it over the Grademon's own gently nudging the sword away from the coughing Thief. It went unspoken that Dagger had hoped that Cassius would stop hurting his Tamer. Had hoped he could be better.
"I know, but that's part of life. He's not a threat that needs to be dealt with." Cas murmured as the golden Digimon slowly relaxed under her touch.
"At least not permanently. Not yet." Cloak rumbled out the Baalmon eyeing their opponents with piercing red eyes so eerily similar to Cas's own as Dagger sighed.
"Very well." The Grademon spoke lashing out with his sword to cleave the bulk of the gold from atop Cassius in one smooth motion allowing Betamon and Cas to pull the man from the soaked treasure. The Doctor grabbing him by the shoulders as she pulled him free laying Cassius on his side to help him cough up the water as she assessed his condition.

Grademon would stick the landing, pointing his golden sword at Betamon and the thief. The knight weighed their lives, but would he find them lacking? Cas calls out to Dagger, telling Grademon to let them go. Cloak was right, Cassius kept hurting Cassandra. He still hadn't learned his lesson after all this time. Cas drops down from Baalmon's arms and rushes over to call off Grademon. Cassius was no loner a threat.
Grademon would clear the bulk of the gold off of Cassius with his blade. Betamon helps as Cas pulls the thief up and rolls him on his side. Cassius coughs up more water, struggling to breathe. Betamon appears depressed seeing his Tamer in such a condition. Cassius manages to open his eyes, his vision blurry as he blinks a few times. He looks up and sees Cas over him. Cassius takes a couple deep breaths.
"Hah, hah, Caaas..."
Betamon is relieved to see Cassius coming to. The Rookie smiles up at Cas, but then lowers his head in shame, having attacked them earlier.
"I'm sorry, Cas. It was wrong to try stealing the treasure. I shouldn't have gone along with Cassius' plan." "Oh, Betamon. I, I have failed you, as your Tamer, and as a friend."
"No more, Cassius. I won't help you break the law, and put innocent people and Digimon in danger. From now on, you better clean up your act." "But, the gold. It's not too late..."
Cassius reaches towards the golden princess, resting his hand on her leg.
"Cassandra, it seems you've beaten me, again. I couldn't measure up. Once again, the prey has outfoxed the hunter."

Carefully Cassandra props Cassius up getting his arm over her shoulder as she stands, but the man is so much taller then her that she's more dragging him then helping him walk as she hooks her fingers into his belt to keep him upright and steady.
"Betamon I'm not asking you and Cassius to just quit I'm..." Cas sighs unsure how to phrase the delicate morality of it all. Digimon so often saw in black and white when both Cas and Cassius's lives were heavily in the gray. "I'm asking you to think about who you hurt. If the money is worth all the death and blood on your hands." She murmured with a shake of her head as she turned to Cloak with pleading eyes the Baalmon however reluctant to help softening under her gaze as he scoops the two humans up.
"Take what you need to survive, but I think you've cost our hosts enough." Cassandra murmured motioning to the damp piles of gold surrounding them as Dagger bent waiting for Betamon to signal he was ready before he and his twin would carry them away.

Cas lifts Cassius' battered body up, slowly dragging him. Cassius tries to steady himself, leaning on Cas for support. It is true, both Cas and Cassius live their lives in the grey, while Digimon see things more as black and white.
"I don't like hurting others, but that is what Digimon do. You fight to survive, and you don't just turn that switch off. But we have done more than our fair share of cruel things, and I don't want to continue down this path if this is where it leads us."
Cassius lets out a low groan. He rests his arms on Cas's shoulders, too ashamed to look her in the eyes. Knowing that the woman he once wanted to humiliate is once again showing him compassion, it felt so embarrassing. He couldn't measure up.
"You are both wrong. I steal because I love the rush, and I want a better life for myself. The world is full of evil and corruption, so why should I have to play by the rules? I'm a master thief, I have the skillset to do as I please, and I have the right to take this treasure if I see fit. But, this was going to be my last heist. I would leave the Yokai, and we could of had a better life, Betamon. But you ruined it, Cas. You took that from me."
"Stop blaming others and making excuses, Cassius! I have been with you through all of this, and it tears me up inside seeing what you have become. It's like I don't even know you anymore! Don't blame Cas, don't justify your actions because other people are corrupt. Do what you know is right in your heart!"
Maybe Betamon's plea would reach Cassius, but in all likeliness, he is in no condition to turn his life around. Fortunately, Cloak and Dagger are there to carry the thief off. Betamon would follow them, longing for Cassius to finally find what is missing inside of him that makes him do evil things. Cas was right to be concerned. Even if Cassius claims this would be the last heist, any addict knows how easy it is to relapse, and Cassius is as addicted to stealing as Dante is to cigarettes. It would take time to heal, but the worst of it is over.

The group would run. Slipping out amid the crowds, running until the fire and Castle was not even a speck on the horizon anymore. Running till the darkness and forest swallowed them up and only then did the twins come to a stop the two digimon setting down their charges as they de-evolved. Dagger stumbling over to lean weakly against Cas while Cloak set Cassius against a tree before he too changed back to Kotemon. The little swordsman a bit less winded then his twin from having armor evolved before.
"Maybe we're monsters Cassius." Cas whispered softly as she pulled his Yokai mask from her bag. Holding the smooth porcelain in her hands she considered for a long moment breaking it. Shattering the clean white and red surface so he could never go back, the temptation so great her hands shook. It wasn't, however, her decision to make. The Thief had not damaged her digivice. Cas would not break his mask no matter how much she wanted to.
"Maybe we're monsters." She murmured once more crouching beside where the man lay slumped as she placed the mask gently over his face. "But that's not all we have to be." Cas spoke leaning forward to press her lips to his masked ones in a chaste kiss before standing once more.
"You can be more then this and I hope....I hope one day I get to see it." She whispered taking the twins hands as she turned to walk away from him a second time. At least leaving him this time safe beneath the stars then to an unknown fate within a cell.
