Lest to say, they'd go together to the teenager's apartment! For a moment, Amy wondered if Chie was truly alright with the idea or was just doing it to humor her, but ended up pondering on if that really mattered, answer to that being a decisive no. The walk from Miyashita to Society Hill would be a short one, and before the brunette could realize, the two girls were right in front of the apartment complex that Amelie called home. Unless her peer showed hesitation or something of the like, Amy'd just go through the usual motions; get inside the elevator, ascend three floors and eventually opened the gateway towards her apartment. It wasn't really big or overly decorated; the rather sober pale yellow of the walls resonated softly with the white tiles of the floor, all around giving a rather calm, yet not overly boring appearance. The place was big enough for maybe three or four people to live rather comfortably. "Well. Here we are. I know it's not a lot, but feel at home." She said with some satisfaction in her voice. Probably an unfitting thing to say, given that Chie herself didn't like her home, but that was something the brunette realized a little too late, even if early enough to not mutter a 'whoops'. "Okayyyy. Do you feel hungry, or do you wanna wait a bit? I can begin to set the table and that stuff if you aren't!" Chie Takamoto

Chie followed Amelia, feeling out of place in Society Hill. She was barely middle class if not for the fact that she prevents her brother's problems from becoming family problems after he "wants nothing to do with them" and her father's alcoholism from touching the financial stability. She felt like she didn't belong in the area as they made their way to Amelia's home.
Chie admitted it was not as spacious as hers, but it was sure in better condition. She had little time to clean anything but the kitchen areas. She didn't bother to react to Amelia's words as this at least looked like someone's home. Seeing such a happy sight made her feel like more of a husk inside.
"Whatever you want is fine.." Chie muttered as she took a moment to analyze the room. She actually felt her self esteem drop as she again questioned what she was doing with her life.
Do on the other hand was getting impatient within the digivice, but he didn't want to show anything. Grumbling could be heard in Chie's ears before taking off the earphones and putting them in her purse. Do's grumbling got louder, but was muffled by the contents of her purse.

Not... much Amy could do about Chie's current mood, honestly. She had accepted her invitation and the best the brunette could do was to be a graceful hostess.
Yet... why the raven-haired teenager seemed so glum? Well, maybe it was really her fault, or maybe it was something else. She couldn't really be sure. "Come on... don't be like that. Let's have some fun! Is there anything I could do to make you smile, even if just a little bit? I know that I may be asking something a little selfish, but I think the two of us could enjoy ourselves a little more that way!"
In any case, she'd begin to set the tablecloth, the cutlery, mats and dishes on the table she had in her living room. What would she cook? Her knowledge of recipes wasn't expansive, but she knew enough individual dishes to have a decent selection, at the very least.
Maybe she was being a bit too pushy? This could be interpreted the wrong way, and she definitely didn't want that. But then... she could always recur to that if needed. Would Amelie do it, however...?
For now, there was no need, she guessed.

Chie listened to Amelia's words and was slowly worrying that she walked into something she wasn't ready for. Her face flustered at the mention of both of them enjoying themselves, as she possibly misinterpreted what she meant. "Oh.. Didn't realize you were thinking that way so quick." However Chie tried to push those thoughts out of her mind as she walked towards and sat at the table. However she occupied her thoughts by wondering what was fun these days.
Her silence was not comfortable for Do, if she had to think deeply on what fun is, he's got his work cut out for him, after all, who didn't know how to have Fun? Do feared he might have found the answer to that question. Chie could see Amelia struggle in her thoughts but held her tongue, she was invited to Amelia's home so obviously to intrude on her show would be rude. Chie decided to outright admit her faults at this point. "Honestly, I don't know what fun is, I know what passion is, but never fun. I am more disciplined then a priestess at times."
Chie couldn't help but feel nervous as regardless, this had to be one of the weirdest situations she's been in. Chie wondered what was going through the other woman's head, but she shrugged it off as she let her focus on what was through her mind.

Amelie herself didn't know if she was supposed to bring a palm directly towards her face or just laugh at Chie's comment. Was she even talking seriously? Probably was, mostly because mentioning that kind of stuff to somebody you had met... hours before? Was probably an unrealistic expectation.
And so, she laughed a bit. "Oh, you. But what I meant is... you won't let me be a good hostess if you just go 'yeah, whatever. anything's fine'. It can be pretty frustrating at times when you get that amount of... indifference, you know?"
Was it okay to be as sincere? Probably! Chie had been way more sincere than that with her hours ago, so she probably wouldn't mind some truths thrown her way.
What she hadn't expected, however, was the concept of what was fun being alien to her peer. Wew... that was pretty rough. "Well, to have fun is to enjoy yourself. Never felt satisfaction at a job well done, or time flying when you were doing something you enjoyed?" That was a bit sad and... explained a lot of things, at the same time.
It was interesting to think about it, in hindsight. Yet still... she didn't know what to cook. Like, at all. So instead, she sat on the table and began thinking more thoroughly. "At least tell me what kind of flavors do you like...? Anything to narrow down choices?"

Chie felt guilty about making things difficult for Amelia, but it couldn't be helped, after all, Chie never bothered to question what was important to her. Relaxation was something that she saw everyone else do, but she always found work for herself. "Well, not exactly a socialite myself so indifference is all I know."
On the subject of fun, Chie couldn't disagree with Amelia's satisfaction. Chie's father and brother spent way too many moments having fun and/or relaxing. She was tense for a while. She decided to try and leave that subject behind, but doubted it possible. "Well, no one told me fun was important to life. I never stopped between much as I had no time."
However on the subject of her palate, Chie chose to take a backseat to the subject as she did not want to intrude on whatever scheme Amelia might have going on. She was cool with anything Amelia made. She felt like she would be a terrible backseat driver if she gets too involved. "I don't want to intrude, I am not picky. Feel free to make anything."
Chie felt like she was overstepping her bounds but didn't want to acknowledge that elephant in the room. She wasn't sure where the line was to be drawn so she treaded carefully. Her Digimon in her digivice was getting restless as he wanted out, but his tamer was not making things easy for him.

Amelie's right palm slowly moved towards her own face, colliding with it in a slight expression of frustration, then slowly dragging down as she thought about what to do in regards to her unlikely guest. Thus far, she definitely hadn't been helping... like at all.
"I don't think that all you know is indifference. Why would an indifferent person accept an invitation to another's house?" A big, teasing smile made its way towards her face. "What if maybe... you're just being difficult? I wouldn't be surprised, honestly!"
That probably wasn't the case, but a harmless joke wouldn't hurt, right? Besides, there wasn't like that was something that couldn't be 'learned', in a sense! "It's not like you lost a train or something, you know? Maybe your fun sense is 'broken' at the moment, but that doesn't mean it can't be fixed! See, why not we make things a li~ttle more interesting?"
A wry expression was on her face for a second as she went to a fridge. Getting a black bottle from in there and a corkscrew from a nearby cabinet, she placed both on the table. "Hope you fancy this kinda stuff! Otherwise, I can get you something else."
Given that it was impossible for her to discern what Chie would like or not, regarding both food and, she better got to work; getting the necessary utensils, she set to boil some water and began to get the necessary ingredients out of the fridge.

Chie hated that she was being such an obvious bother to Amelia. She wanted to make things as easy as possible but she was not easy to get along with as she did not want to step on her toes. She didn't want to be difficult, but she couldn't change her very nature. "Not my fault I'm a piece of work, that's literally all I've ever done."
However she got flustered at the sight of a wine bottle and she tried to raise her hands in protest. "Trust me, I get way too loose when I drink." Also seeing her father's drinking result in problem's every single day for a while hindered her thoughts on the notion of drinking, hopefully Amelia wouldn't push her on the matter.
Shrugging it off, she tried to focus on Amelia, wondering what it was she was scheming. Hopefully she didn't have a mixology degree as at this point she can only imagine what Amelia would try. She was kept guessing, unaware of the awkward silence she created.

Siiiiiiigh. No way of getting this girl to think positively for once in her life, honestly. Yet, what Chie didn't know is that Amelie was as stubborn as her, if not even more!
"Huh. Well, it's fine if you wanna be a piece of work?" The brunette shrugged, as if that was the most normal thing in the world. "Back when I was a kid, sometimes I just began to be difficult just because that was fun. And they gave me stuff that way, so... I really can't blame others for trying the same, really! Juuust don't expect me to give you a candy or something."
Yup, she had been a bit of a spoiled child, but the teenager had matured more or less well, she thought? In any case, pondering about that wasn't something she was interested in at the moment. Being half surprised, half amused at her peer's words regarding wine, she just let out a small laugh.
"Ah, come on; don't worry. Did you really think I'd place anything with alcohol in front of a minor? I'm not that bad of an influence." By now, the noodles were already cooking, and a frying pan was beginning to heat up. "It alcohol-free wine. All the taste, pretty much zero the alcohol. If you have drunk any kind of wine before, you should taste it. It's pretty good!"
Originally that was meant to be a joke of sorts, but there wasn't much she could do about it. Just go with the flow!

Chie shrugged as she learned the wine in question was non-alcoholic, she figured what the harm in drinking something that was without alcohol, or so she thought. She didn't bother reading the label as most de-alcoholized wines still retain trace amounts, and Chie's alcohol tolerance was ridiculously weak. Chie figured better to at least try and get comfortable. She grabbed the corkscrew and opened the wine bottle and poured herself a glass. Thinking that nothing could happen, she took a sip of the wine as she found the taste refined.
However her reaction was not expected at all as her face got flustered instantly as she stared at the wine glass in awe. "Soo good..." Chie finished the glass quickly as she began to let her senses take over as she could smell what Amelia was up to. She stood up as she walked over to behind Amelia and wrapped around Amelia's abdomen as she leaned in against her. Not even caring on how she appeared, she couldn't resist the smell of someone in the kitchen. "Mmm... Smells good, what are you cooking?"
Chie was not an alcoholic, and this really reinforced why as she can barely tolerate any form of alcohol. Meanwhile Do, could still hear everything from within the digivice in the purse was utterly shocked at how much of a lightweight Chie was. He didn't know whether to feel bad or laugh. "Wow, that's a low tolerance if I've ever seen, or rather heard one."

As the brunette kept preparing the dish, she couldn't but smile at Chie's remark at the wine's taste. "I'm glad you like it! Big bro got it here last time he visited; he said it was pretty good. And you know, since everything always tastes better in the company of friends..."
What she hadn't expected, however, was that Chie had walked right behind her and was now... hugging her from behind? That kind of contact was something she hadn't expected at all, and she could even say that it was a little awkward; however, for now, it wasn't harmful, right? She began thinking why, and while her mind concocted a likely reason why this was happening, she preferred to shrug it off.
After all, it was more or less harmless for the time being! "What am I cooking? It's a family recipe! Shrimp Scampi with Angel Hair Pasta. Couldn't have enough of it when I was a kid, so I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it too?" Amy made a small pause, smiling. "Why feeling so affectionate, by the way? I thought the usual Chie was just business and glum and that stuff. Can't say I'm not liking the change, however."
Maybe she wasn't the amazing cook her mom was, but she had definitely learned a trick or two from her. This was one of the few dishes she had even practiced to get right to every detail she could. With any luck, it'd come out fine.

Chie could smell the aroma of the food as she leaned closer against the other woman however the thought of the word business drove her to react almost instantly. Her grip tightened for a moment as she spoke. "Mmm, no business right now, it's always business with Chie. Let her enjoy at least something." Chie got a brief moment of awareness again when she realized she was probably in the way. Loosening her grip slowly, she stumbled back to the table.
Do was glad to be stuck in the digivice inside the purse. He was now lost as all he had was sound to guess what was going on, but he could hear Chie's stumbling footsteps. Chie eventually fell over, her face landing on her left elbow. Groggily, she reached her right hand out to grasp something, chair leg, table leg, a rodent, and eventually her purse letting the poor rodent run back out the window. Reaching inside her purse, she reached inside and pulled out her D-3 digivice (this happened prior to "The past never rests.") and pulled it out. Do knew where this was going. Luckily for him Chie accidentally pressed the button as Do started to release. He pretended to be a fluffy plush toy. It wasn't easy as Chie tried to lift Do but he realized what she was doing and slid himself under her head before Amelie could notice.
He froze in a basic stance, trying not to move as he hoped this would end well, but a drunk tamer accidentally summoning a digimon never ended well in his experience.

Was the way Chie was leaning on her uncomfortable? Hmmm, Amelie was debating on it a bit, but decided on letting it go just because she was being harmless at the moment. As long as things didn't escalate, they would be more or less alright.
While anything she would try to pull off was more or less unlikely to injure the brunette, her grip tightening made it a little harder to work. She was about to make a remark about it when Chie expressed how she didn't like her... 'non-relaxed self', so to say? Well...
"I can't say I disagree. While I don't understand why Chie talks about herself in third, I can appreciate her wanting to have fun for once. Isn't that a good thing?" Amy wasn't probably going to be heard for much, given how stumbled back towards her seat; well, that didn't matter. "Food's gonna be ready shortly! Don't worry."
Said and done! Amelie began to serve her creation in two plates and placed both on the table, sitting right afterward. "Well, bon appétit~! Let's dig in!"
She began with her own plate before noticing the strange animal that was currently under Chie's head. Huh, interesting. "Didn't know you liked plush toys." The teenager said, assuming it was hers. "Looks cute. It's like a... giant purple squirrel? Whoever made it must have been quite creative; first time I see something like it."
Maybe that was a partial truth; somehow, she thought she had seen something like that somewhere. Buuuut... where?

While Amelie brought out the food, Chie slowly got up leaving her digivice on Do before she moved to sit at the table, stepping on Do's tail in the process. The digimon held his breath as it did hurt, he couldn't let himself be known. Chie was not making a single thing easy for her as she had too much to drink off of nothing. She smirked at Amelie's mention of Do being a plush doll. "Oh, yeah, he's just a soft snuggle buddy. "
That offhand comment was enough to make him rolls his eyes, hoping that Amelie wasn't looking. Drunk dialing is one thing, but drunk digitizing is a recipe for disaster. Chie lithtly touched the pasta as she was savoring in it's appearance before she actually decided to eat. She learned to appreciate food, and also to check if it's cooked properly. The reason for the later was not a fun one, and she didn't know she accidentally verbalized her thoughts again. "My brother only cooked a single meal in his life, he cooked pork chops but they were undercooked. My father got food poisoning. He didn't check my brother's work."
Do himself couldn't believe her story at this point, no way someone like her could be related to such an idiot. However he couldn't really judge as he barely heard her father. But he had justified reasoning for his behaviour. Chie took a bite of the pasa as she took a moment to savor the shrimp contrasted with the sauces on top of the pasta. She couldn't help but appreciate every aspect. "Pretty good..."
Do, could smell the scent of the food as he lied on the ground. Quickly the scent became too much for him as he sprung up and turned to face the table. "Really Chie? Bad enough you get drunk off of de-alcoholized wine, you drunk digitize me, use me as a pillow, and step on my tail. But eating near me while I could smell the food, that's cruel!"
Chie, not caring about Amelie at the moment shrugged Do off. "Just go back inside the Digivice. Excuse my digimon Amelie, he's just an alien from an alternate world that is bound to me for life."
Do rolled his eyes as Chie literally failed completely at keeping the secret of Digimon. He tried to face claw, but his little arms were too short. He took a deep breath and awaited Amelie to start freaking out before he said anything.

A small smile graced Amelie's face. "I used to have a plush toy, too. It was pretty imaginative, too! Mom insisted on gifting me a Kuda-gitsune; maybe as a reminder of her Japanese heritage? I'm not sure, but the thing was super cute! I slept with it for like... four years or so."
What had happened to the plush? Well... that was something she wasn't very proud of, or wanted to mention at the moment; in any case the teenager didn't appreciate her creation being so crudely probed, but she could understand the intent behind it.
"Food poisoning ain't a joke, but you can make sure I took all the necessary precautions for the meal to be non-lethal. I think; adding just a wee bit of cyanide counts as nonlethal, right?"
Of course that was a joke, and she hoped Chie will take it as that, given that the brunette was already beginning with her dish, just after serving herself some wine. Yup! It was pretty good! Maybe not excellent, but the result was good enough for her.
"Thanks. I'm glad you like it!" There were few things as rewarding as somebody liking what you did when that was the whole point of doing that thing in first place. A pretty big smile graced Amy's face, at least until... the purple squirrel decided he wanted to talk.
Then... she just smiled at the creature too, almost as if disregarding the whole explanation and the argument that had ensued between digimon and human partner. "Why didn't you say that before, then? There's food for you if you want to eat, but please mind your table manners. I'll get another dish."
Said, and done, it probably took her one minute at most to set another place in the table and to serve another dish. "Hope you enjoy it too."
After all, there was no dispute that some good food couldn't solve, right? Overall, it had been a pleasant night; even if Chie's quirky disposition and Do's somewhat ill-tempered disposition (something that could be attributed to the lack of food) had, in a sense, thrown a spanner in the works, that hadn't stopped them from enjoying each other.
They took their times to bid their goodbyes to each other, and eventually, the raven-haired teenager left Amelie's apartment.
Not much else to say or do. Just clean up, do the dishes and get ready for bed. [Exit]
