Well they were surely off to a bad start, both digimon continued glaring at each other, growling . Somewhat surprisingly, it was the girl that spoke up again, trying (and in her own partner’s case succeeding) to talk some sense into the two cats. At the very least she had been convincing enough to make Dio stop growling for a moment to pay attention to whatever Mei had to say.
“You heard her, now can you please stop it with the antagonizing, Dio?” Carlos was quick to add, softly patting his partner on the head as he did so. He knew exactly why he’d be so distrusting of that Meicoomon…or more precisely of Meicoomons in general, but there was no point in making a scene right now, seeing how they had come to help voluntarily. He’d make it up to his partner later.
“Ugh, fine.” The cat huffed, annoyed, but didn’t protest further. Mind you he still glared at the feline with distrust, but at least he wasn’t any more outwardly hostile than he usually was with anyone else.
As it turned out, their collective suspicions were correct and this Meicoomon was the girl’s partner, and had been waiting for seven whole years. That was both impressive yet slightly concerning, almost stalker like, but Carlos decided to not say anything about it. After all Mei seemed like she had her heart in the right place, at the very least.
“I’m Carlos, also a Digimon Tamer. This little fiend here is Dio, who as you probably guessed already is also a digimon.” He said with a nod as he looked down at his partner, the black cat still resting lazily between his arms.
“Charmed.” The cat waved somewhat unenthusiastically to the girl with his hand…paw...holo paw?. Whatever the case, Haru had the right idea, it was better for them to go and find a quieter place to discuss this…
“Right…you’re probably wondering what even a Digimon is.” Carlos said, scratching his chin once they were in a more “secluded” section of the park. After quickly looking at his surroundings for a moment to ensure they weren’t being spied on, he gently let go of Dio, the disguised digimon landing gracefully on the floor.
A blue flicker of data later, the black cat was nowhere to be seen, replaced instead by the usual purple skinned, green eyed Impmon that Dio really was. He threw his arms up in the air, letting out a very deadpan “Behold.”
“So uhm, well. Basically: Digimon are digital creatureslike these guys right here.” Carlos said, pointing first at the imp, then at the other Mei. “They come from…let’s say another world called the Digital World . Original name, I know. They can come in all shapes and sizes, and about 90% of them are far and beyond much stronger than any human.” He’d rather not get into many details about that last part just yet, who knew how Mei would react knowing she was holding a creature capable of leveling a small building.
He sighed a bit, pinching the bridge of his nose as he did so. He wasn’t exactly the best at summarizing stuff, and he was all too aware of that. Frankly, he wasn’t even entirely sure if they should be the one giving Mei the whole rundown on the Digimon thing, he and Haru were relatively new to this too. But some advice was better than no advice at all.
“Um uh…I know this might be a bit much to take in all at once, tell me if I’m going too fast.”
