This had to be some kind of dream.
The first oddity was finding this weird little toy lying on the desk in his room. It was square-shaped, with smooth indents on each of the corners, with a little antenna sticking out of one indent. On what he assumed was the front of it was a small screen, surrounded by a circle with strange symbols intended in it and three buttons - one on one side, two on the other. Whatever those buttons were supposed to do, he had no idea, as pressing them didn't do anything he could notice. He didn't even know how long that thing had been lying there.
The second was when he tried asking his siblings what the device was. They sounded surprised when they showed it to him, then asked him a few strange questions: was there some kind of strange creature talking to him? Did he find a giant egg in his room too? Even more unusual was that they told him not to let their parents know about it.
And now, he had no idea where he was. He'd just gone a little walk (after his older sister left him to go do something else), and he thought to go by the Shibuya River. He swore he'd been careful to check the area around him before walking, but for some reason, his foot got caught on something that made him stumble right into river. At least, he thought he stumbled into the river. The whole thing was kinda blurry, but he could definitely tell he wasn't face-first in ankle-deep water.
In fact, it was like he wasn't in the city anymore: it was much quieter - no cars, no people talking - and the air around here just tasted so much cleaner and drier. He felt around the area, and he found stone, but not like the stone that made up Shibuya River; this was so much rougher, so much more jagged, like a mountainside. Nothing that was within Shibuya itself.
He took a moment to ponder his situation. All he had with him were his cane, his phone, that weird device he'd found before, and the clothes he was wearing. And as he was slowly learning, a sweater over a black t-shirt was not the best choice of clothing, as it was much warmer than it was just a few moments ago.
His first thought: find somewhere cooler. But that was going to take some time - probing around the area with his cane showed that there were a lot of rocks scattered about. A lot of things he could trip over if he weren't careful. His movements would have to be slow, deliberate, careful to brush away any stones he found and avoid tripping over the ones he missed. It'd take him a while to get anywhere.
So second option: call his sister. Except that plan was immediately dashed when his phone didn't work. It didn't feel like the fall damaged it at all - no damage to the screen, nothing broken off, nothing rattling when he shook it - and he charged the thing every night, so the battery couldn't have died. It just didn't turn on.
If this was a dream, it was steadily revealing itself to be some kind of nightmare.
But he held his composure - he'd gotten lost before, and he knew that panicking would just make the situation more complicated. So he took the more practical option:
"Hey! Anyone out there?"

The Devimon let out a snarl as he pulled his arm out of a hole on the canyon's wall, yet again empty handed. Coela back in White Water City had came to him a week or so ago asking him if he'd be able to do a favor for him. After letting him inside his home Coela had explained to Caligo that the digimon that usually went into the Valley of Dragons to get a unique spice had recently been injured and couldn't go for several weeks. Seeing as this spice was integral to several dishes he made Coela had asked Impmon to come out to the Valley and get the spices himself, offering him meals at his restaurant free of charge for the next month. Seeing how often he went to Coela's place, as well as how the fish was getting up in age and could use the help, he agreed.
What he did not know, nor did that old fish seem to bother telling him, was that these spices, specifically a seed birds would gather into holes in the canyon walls, were apparently quite the pain in the ass to find unless you knew where to look, and thus Caligo had been out here for the last two days looking for them. As he stuck his arm into another hole he couldn't help but grumble. "Yes, please Caligo, go out to the valley and get those spices for me. It isn't as if the damn things are super rare and a pain in the ass to find, no no no no, all you have to do is-AHA!" He cut himself off as he screamed in delight, finding the last few seeds he need to deliver the amount he promised Coela. Sticking them in a bag on his waist he smiled. "Right, now to head back to-"
"Hey! Anyone out there?"
Caligo froze as he heard the voice, definitely wasn't one of the old pissy dragons living here, voice sounded far too high pitched. Looking down toward the bottom of the Canyon he saw something small, blue, and- Holy shit thats a human kid isn't it?! He shouted in his head. Yep, definitely a human, and if he had to guess he, or she, he couldn't tell, was pretty damn young too. And guessing from the fact he was alone and calling for someone he wasn't here on purpose. On top of that he was tapping a stick against stuff around and his eyes were closed for some reason. Well crap, I can't just leave him here, one of those dragons livin here will making chow.
Spreading his wings he leaped off the ledge and glided down towards the kid, softly landing to make sure a gust of wind didn't knock the kid over, he now stood a few feet away from him. Kneeling down to be more on the kids level, he called over to him, trying to make his deeper and more gruff voice in this form sound friendlier. "Hey kid, I suggest you keep it down a bit, don't wanna attract any unnecessary attention to ya, especially not here."

"Oi."
"...Yeah?"
"Can you actually -answer- me, Toriya?" "I thought you wanted to come here!" "...NOT RIGHT NOW!"
Well. This bickering duo had the mind to take a walk from Whitewater to somewhere. A miscommunication had simply led to them coming here rather than somewhere more...nice for a walk. Though, genuinely speaking? This wasn't that bad. Titania, the Tinkermon, was just being a spoiled brat. The canyon was otherwise very silent save for them...Until something sounded off that just shut Naoko and her fairy partner up.
"Hey! Anyone out there?"
"...What was that?" Titania asked, before she jabbed her foot at Naoko's neck from her spot in the girl's hoodie. "Go check it out, Vassal."
A quick run to where she heard the voice (never again, running is bad) revealed two things.
A Devimon. And a boy. They did not appear to be like any sort of duo the pair had interacted with at all. "Hello there." Titania peered over to them, and coughed. "...Oh. A...That's a kid, right?" She asked by whispering in Naoko's ear. "Yes, Titania, that's a kid...Uh...Hey, you two...doing okay?"
“Watch yourself.” Was all Titania had to add. A whisper. Odd.

Thankfully, there seemed to be a few responses to his call for help.
Neither were immediate, though. He stood there for a moment awaiting some kind of response, but was met with silence. But he only had to wait a little longer to hear something land close-by to him, a brief gust of wind brushing against him alerting him to its presence.
And then a deep voice - evidently trying to lighten itself to sound less so - warning him to be quiet so as not to attract attention. "Oh," he quietly responded, a hand over his mouth, "sorry." The thought arose that maybe he'd wandered into Kabukicho again, though he shook that off pretty quickly. That place was just as much city as the rest of Shibuya, and this place was anything but a city.
And then another voice. Actually, two of them: one was a fairly high-pitched girl, and the other sounded like another guy, though his voice was nowhere near as deep as the first man's. The former greeted him, while the latter asked if they were doing alright. "We're fine!" Hideo answered aloud, though careful not to shout, "He was just telling me I was being too loud. I didn't mean to be disruptive." He didn't want them to think this guy was accosting him or anything bad.
Plus, he could help him. "I do need some help right now, actually!" It felt a little embarrassing admitting to that, but there wasn't much use in dancing around the issue. "I'm kinda lost right now. I was just walking along the Shibuya River when I kinda...tripped on something and fell in."
He rubbed the back of his head with his free hand as his cheeks reddened a little. How long had it been since he last tripped and fell in there? A year or so? Though it didn't feel like he fell in it - it was just one moment he was falling, the next moment he was lying on the ground here.
"Do you guys know where this place is? I don't think this is the Shibuya River anymore. Or anywhere in Shibuya. That place doesn't have mountains...and it's never this quiet inside the city."
That theory that this was all just a dream was just gaining more and more evidence by each passing moment.

Caligo gave a nod, waving his had. "It's fine, just make sure you kept yer voice down." He then glanced over at the newcomers, one looked like an older human boy, the other was a tinkermon sitting in said human's hood. Guess they heard the kid as well He thought to himself. Realizing the human was talking to him, he gave a nod. "We're fine. Luckily I don't think anything else heard us, at least that is what I'm hoping."
Turning his attention back to the kid, he listened quietly as he explained, his face slowly contorting into a scowl of confusion as the kid continued. Thinks he fell into a river? And what is this Shibuya place? Wait... The kids eyes were closed, he had some stick he was tapping the ground with, and he didn't seem to have any idea where he was. He'd heard of humans with this condition in passings before, but just to be sure... "Well, you aren't in Shibuya, assuming yer referring to the place I'm thinkin of. But before I continue, kid, can...can you see me? Can you see anything?"

A couple of things began to set in as Naoko listened to the Devimon and Hideo. The latter was lost. Very lost. The former...well, Naoko could assume Titania was being a little apprehensive and rightfully so, Devimon were...strange creatures to be around. Nobody shall dare speak of the Viral Contortionist of Whitewater. "Uh...What the Divamo--" "Devimon." "That. What he said."
See, Titania knew names. Naoko did not. "Shibuya's in Japan and we're...noooot there at all." "Nope. This is th--"
Naoko raised a single finger. Maybe it was probably the better idea to not overwhelm the kid immediately or something? Furthermore, the virus type did raise a good point. He...did have a ca--...
Naoko's eyes just widened in a silent realization that she had no idea what to do with. This kid was probably visually impaired and very lost in a very strange world.
"...Toriya? You okay?" Titania waved her hand in front of Naoko's face. No response. She shrugged.

Hideo paused when he heard the girl give an idea of where they are, an eyebrow raised. It...didn't make much sense. "Wait...what do you mean this isn't Japan? I was in Shibuya a minute ago." It may have been close to the edge of Japan, but it was still hundreds of kilometers away from any other country, right? There was no way he wasn't in Japan.
Alright, now he definitely needed to check if this was a dream. There was an old saying, "Pinch me, I'm dreaming!". He wasn't supposed to feel anything if he pinched himself in a dream, so he decided to pinch his cheek with his free hand.
To his surprise, he felt it. And it stung a little, and even left a little red mark.
Maybe the saying was just wrong?
And then the man in front of him asked if he could see anything. Well, he wasn't exactly trying to hide it, but he supposed they just wanted to make sure.
Hideo shook his head. "Nope!" was his response. He pointed at his two eyes, adding, "Can't see at all! Haven't been able to see my whole life." Really, it was as simple as that. He was used to people asking, anyways. No need to hide it.
From the way the guy in front of him was talking, wherever they were, it wasn't a safe place to be. While it did make him slightly nervous - on top of his confusion - it still left him with the same question as before. "So if this isn't Shibuya, and it isn't in Japan, then where are we? And...how do I get back to Shibuya?"
Hopefully, getting back would be as easy as it was getting here. And preferably, something he had control over; teleporting around the world every time he fell over or into a river was not something he was too keen about.

Caligo glanced over at the boy and little fairy digimon, noticing his eyes had gone wide. Looks like he's reached the same conclusion. He then turned his attention back to the kid. He winced as the kid pinched himself, not entirely sure on why he did it, but he wasn't about to question him. He then listened, giving a nod and sigh as the child confirmed that he couldn't see. Yeah, that definitely makes things a hell of a lot more problematic, not to mention how damn dangerous it is for this kid.
"Alright, here is the thing kid, you aren't in the Human World anymore. Looks like the world wanted to play some sick prank on you cause you got sent through some portal thing into the Digital World, more specifically the valley of the dragons. As for me, I'm an inhabitant of this world, a digimon. As for getting back to Shibuya, well, I'm not to sure if you can make your way back the way you came here, but I do know of another way to get ya back to the Human World." He explained, hoping the kid wouldn't be overwhelmed.
"You're gonna have to trust me though, because the area we're in now isn't exactly the safest place to be, specially for a kid like you. Now, I'm gonna have to pick you up, so please please PLEASE don't have a massive freak out, cause we really don't wanna attract the attention of anything else here." He then reached forward slowly and gently lifted the kid off the ground. "Look, if you want me to leave you alone I'll hand you over to this male human that's here once we're out of the valley." He then glanced over at said human. "That is, assuming he is willing to help you."

"Well, uh...Like our friend here said, there's a way, ye--..."
Did...That just happen? The Devimon called Naoko a male. A MALE. Naoko wanted to do a lot of things right now but she quickly reminded herself that there was a kid here and a...very cheery blind one at that. "...Two things, ah...One, I'm a girl. And two, yes, I'm willing to lend a hand. My partner here knows where to go. Right?"
...Titania just groaned. "Yes, yes I do. I'll help you, no worries!" The good thing here is that the Devimon basically explained the whole of the situation as far as Naoko was aware. But, the real question is, were the duo -capable- of getting this kid over to Terminus...?

...
Well, he finally got answers.
But they were the kinds of answers that only raised more questions than they resolved.
His mouth was slightly open, almost frozen. He wanted to say something, to ask for the least bit of clarification, but he wasn't sure where to start, so all that came out was silence. It was so much to take in at once that it was struggling to register in his mind. The only way he could make his confusion even more clear were if giant question marks were popping above his head.
Digital World? Valley of Dragons? Digimon? Human World?!
Yeah, this was all one giant dream. He wasn't sure if it was some kind of nightmare, but it was hard to believe this was really going on. Even if his aching cheek tried to tell him otherwise.
The feeling of being lifted up refocused his attention on the guy lifting him up. Or...what did he say he was? A "Digimon"? Hideo was quick to feel the guy's hand, and only grew more confused, because this hand definitely didn't feel like a person's. Yeah, it had five fingers, but they were waaaay too long and pointy at the end. And his hand felt very leathery, like it was made out of belts.
And that wasn't including how large his hand was. There was little doubt that this guy could wrap his entire hand around Hideo if he wanted to. Just how big was this guy?
He held tight to his cane, a way to channel his anxiety.
The fact the person he thought was a boy, was actually a girl, barely registered in his mind. Though at least he knew that person was a human. Though did that mean the other girl was also a "digimon"?
"W-wait," he finally said, a tinge in panic in his voice, though he tried not to be too loud, "Where are you gonna take me? Are you gonna bring me back to Earth...I mean, the 'human world'? How's that gonna work?" Was it going to be a sudden shift like the one that brought him here, or a more drawn-out process? "Is this really a different world? What's a digimon?"
Finally asking those questions felt like a weight off of him, even if he feared the answers would leave him with more to ask.
"And...you called this place the 'Valley of Dragons'. Does that mean there are actual dragons here? Or are they just Digimon too?"

Caligo turned to stare at Naoko, his eyes widened, looking hi-her over. "You're serious? Not gonna lie you don't really look like one. Though it does explain the voice, was wondering if that was a rare case among human males." He gave a shrug. "So, uh, sorry, I guess? Also, I am confident I can get up to the terminal, but it helps to have an extra guide, so thanks."
He then turned his attention back to the kid. He was holding onto his cane tightly, but he wasn't kicking and screaming so that was good. Hearing his other questions he let out a sigh. "Well, we'll be takin you to the trailmon terminal, think of it as trains that can navigate between the human and digital world. And yeah, this is really a different world, one that works quite differently from the human world I would say. As for what me and the little fairy are, well, we're digimon. The full name being Digital monsters, we're beings made from data that can evolve, grow stronger, and other such things." He gave a nod to himself, thinking he explained it well enough. "As for this place, they aren't necessarily like the dragons from your world, but they are digimon that look like em and way more dangerous, hence why we need to stay quiet. In fact, we should get moving." With that Caligo stood up, resting the child against his chest, and began walking in the direction of the closest exit to the Valley, avoiding flight both to keep the kid from panicking and to make sure no digimon watching the skies saw them.

Naoko stared right back at Caligo. "...Yeah, I-I'd like to imagine I'm pretty serious. Uh...It's alright, don't worry." The reassurance here was helpful. More aid was always nice. "Um...I think the consensus is getting you back home. Earth. Basically, we're gonna do that via what the big guy said."
Titania felt like this was a good call....Except the kid was panicking. Humans. Hmph. She flew out of Naoko's hoodie and up to Caligo's hand. "Hey, uh...What's your name? There's nothing to be scared of here." She then pondered upon the final question. "...There -is- a digimon called Dracomon. They're generally really sweet unless you touch a certain scale....Hopefully you don't meet any. But...you can't really...Mmh."
This. Was awkward. Naoko just watched her partner start making an ass of herself. "...We really should get moving. And also calm down...A little bit."

Oh man. Oh jeez.
The answers he was getting was just making him more anxious. Not only was this a whole new world, but it worked completely differently from the world he was familiar with? That higher-pitched girl voice was actually some kind of fairy? He had to go on something called a "Trailmon" to get back to his world? There actually were dragons here? Like the big fire-breathing ones that were never happy to see people? And these were even more dangerous than they were?
He could feel his heart racing. This was just too much to hear at one time. He didn't understand what was going on, even with someone outright explaining it to him. It was like the words never even reached his brain.
He just had to take a quick moment to breathe. Breathe in, breathe out. Panicking wasn't going to help.
That was enough to get him to focus just a bit. He chose to focus that he could recognize: the higher-pitched girl, the "fairy" "digimon", asking him what his name was. "My name...yeah, my name? It's-"
"Hideooooooooooooooo"
Hideo paused. That wasn't him saying his name. It was someone else...someone whose voice he didn't recognize, from pretty far away. A girl's voice?
"Puuuut my tamer dooooooooooooooooooown."
Her tamer? What was she talking about?
"Uh...yeah. My name's Hideo...Who's shouting my name? Did she just call me her 'tamer'?"
It would be pretty easy for the others to notice the indiscreet pink spider running towards the group. The one swinging a pair of flails made out of web just above her head, with a furious expression on her face. Though it would be a decent amount of time before she could reach them, and she wasn't being in any way subtle with her approach.
But for Hideo, he had no idea who, or what, was coming.

Caligo rolled his eyes as the little fairy tried to comfort the kid. Really, she wasn't doing a good job considering he could feel the kid's heart hammering in his chest, thought to his credit the kid was doing a pretty good job of staying calm for the most part. Just as the kid was getting to telling them his name, someone else off in the distance shouted.
"Hideooooooooooooooo"
Caligo came to a halt, staring off into the disance trying to make out what was heading for them. He could make out what looked like a pink little spider that seemed to, oddly, be swinging flails about. Petitkumomon? Or a kumomon? He then heard the little spider shouting at him to put the kid, who he guessed was called Hideo judging from what the spider yelled, down. Humoring it, he put the kid down gently, though he kept a hand on his shoulder.
"Alright, I did what you asked, is he really your tamer?"

Naoko was a little surprised. What was calling out what appeared to be the kid's name? This was just...starting to actually get weirder. Either way! The Devimon put the kid down. "...Hey, who are you?" Naoko found herself calling out to the voice, whatever it could be. Titania meanwhile, just...shrugged. Not that Hideo could see it. "I'm guessing a Digimon that knows you? And she did, so she obviously must be some amount of friendly..." "From what I've heard? You're kind of right, and I hate that I'm agreeing with the smug fairy that calls me her vassal."
"Hey, I don't treat you -that- badly!" "That's besides the point. Whatever that wa--...Wait...
Now she saw it.
...That's a pink spider.
What kind of digimon is a pink spider? "Whaaa...?" Naoko mumbled, her poker-face being disrupted by...A face of shock.
