"No. He's what you call single Digimon partnered Human, I guess. [Linked] perhaps? I like the sound of that more. Linked. But I mean is more to the modification. I never had any idea why he does not modify his Digivice. Just a day before his Digivice shattered and he seem to get a new model, but I'm not even sure if that's a downgrade or upgrade. Also, technically when you bring them to mall most of it just... well, you modify them. They don't... buy them per se... Unless there's someone that buy them?"
"Come to think of it," Valt sticks his head outside "I know someone who apparently 'buy a new one'... it make me think that their Digivice is sorta artificial for some reason." the he get back inside. "Well, it's not that there are some void but more like the old area seem to suddenly shift into newer ones. Spear of Megiddo seem used to be a series of island. Then its volcano goes active, and now you have it... The Shining Sea however... I don't know what it is. It sounded like it suddenly appeared out of nowhere."
"Na really," Ryouta answered. "I mean, I don't think people would suddenly come to this place just from my food smell. I might be a mean cook, but if people doesn't come here to begin with then what's the use," Ryouta shrugged his wide shoulders "So if you want to stick here, be my guest. I won't shoo you off."
Though talk about sparring.
"Haha, no," Valt answered, a bit deadpan. "Sure we've reached the highest level before, but with Aniki getting amnesia, my highest stage is still XVmon. Plus this time around, I want to have a bit of relaxing time. I'm thinking more of training you, though, Eito."

"I completely recommend a card scanner wholeheartedly!" Tetsu may not work at the mall, but he seems to be giving a sales pitch. "Like you said for me, everyone has weaknesses they need to cover. The right card at the right moment can be a lifesaver! It also adds some flexibility. Since you recommended some good things for me, I gotta recommend this in return."
Eito shakes his head in affirmation, taking a break from talking to eat some of the deliciously-cooked food. "Okay, volcanic activity, that makes sense - mm... not bad! You're sure to get customers if you choose a decent locale."
He loses his place in the conversation for just a second. "Where was I? Oh. Right. The Spears of... Meggido? That makes sense. The Shining Sea? Maybe an exaggerated, Digital World version of flooding? I suppose I could see that, since everything is so much greater in scope than in the Analog World."
Eito pauses to eat a little more. The food has cooled a bit, but he still seems to enjoy it. "If it is all the same," he replies to the offer to stick around, "I'd like to enjoy your hospitality a bit longer. Food's good, company's great." He pauses upon learning who was going to train whom. "Train me...? Heh. Unexpected, but definitely a good idea. I need just as much training as Tetsu, if not more."

"Ha, look at you, you're already recommending items? Very well, I'll humor you. I'll tell that to Young Master." Looks like at the very least Ilbert find the (young for him) old Trailmon far more pleasant than the 'pay upfront' Trailmon that often work in Terminus and Real World.
Meanwhile, inside, Ryouta just smiled. "Happy to be service then. Stay as long as you like. I don't like to chase off customers. We can potentially set some outside benches if it really needed. Take your time and relax. Well, to be honest, I have no idea how the Shining Sea works. Like, what leads the sea to vanish in the North? It's really cold there, but I heard the climate can be so strange..."
"By heard you mean taught by us?" Valt teased, gaining him an affectionate noogie from Ryouta. "Heh, at any rate, yeah Eito, you need to train. I'm not saying that you should be like Aniki, that's kinda... uh... no offense, Aniki, but let's say, you're quite the genetic freak."
"Yeah, I hear you."
"eheh... um, anyway, what I mean here is... currently, Tetsu's size is big. When you traverse to certain places, there are chances that you need to get to smaller place. So in smaller place without help... let's assume, you still haven't gotten another party member... you're pretty much stuck until you can find a place to summon him. That's what we'll train you. Stamina, endurance, speed, strength. Learning how to parkour might be great for you too, in case you need to escape from enemies that managed to get inside Tetsu. Ilbert can teach Tetsu about how to layout his compartment. Meanwhile, we'll teach you how to build up your body, hehe!"
"Not bulking up, though. If you want bulking up... well, I'm your guy, but don't count too much on it heh. What's more important is to get yourself fit enough for Digital World. Apparently, want it or not you'll get fit, if what I saw from my friends are any indication."

"Are you sure I can't pay you for the food," Eito asks, "I don't like feeling in debt to someone. A customer would have paid good money for that food." The Shining Sea, the cold northern area, and many other things about this world make no sense, but at least capitalism seems to be the same.
Eito stares at Ryouta's huge physique. "Yeah," he scoffs, "I would definitely not reach that level of strength within our training. I have been doing a bit of exercise, but mainly for endurance." The scenarios that Valt mentions definitely get him thinking however. "I... yes, those are definitely problems I need to solve. Speed and agility to keep me out of harm's way, instead of relying on hoping I can find a perfectly smooth plane to try to outrun something and not make any turns or jumps and hope they don't launch any projectiles." What was he thinking before? This is what he should have been doing all along! "Thank you in advance for this training. How and when do we start?"

"Well you can. How much is it again, Valt?"
"Somewhere around 500 bits for full breakfast set would do," Valt answered. "But let's not sully the current meeting with talk about money. Here's what I'll propose. Ilbert is currently doesn't have his old training compartment, so we can't train here, but we can train in somewhere else. My suggested place for now is around the Server Woods. Albeit here is OK, the plains is a bit... unsuited for human training. That's why, Server woods would do good. You can do part time job while at it! Like, logging for example!"
"...You gonna make him do a job?"
"Also for another reason, but that's for later! We'll also train about how to dodge and use obstacle. I'll just say... while you're here, your body gets older at the human world rate, but bulking up is different. You can get body of your dream in just six month real world time, considering that's three and half year over here! But you won't get older than... what, fifteen and half? Because your aging process follows the real world standard!"
"You sounds like some gym advertiser."
"Anikiiiii... well, that's not really wrong either. Anyway, Aniki can show you how to fight too, I think! Throwing your usurper out of the compartments will be a drastic measure and potentially dangerous, but if they're weak enough, you can totally use it to your advantage."

"Five hundred bits Hm. Sounds reasonable." He definitely has the bits to pay for breakfast. "But if you want to talk about it later, fine." Server Woods apparently awaits. "Logging... pay off my debt and receive strength training at the same time. Clever."
So there were rules to the differences in time between the Analog and Digital Worlds. That was good to know. "Six months to three and a half years... a one to seven ratio then? I'll have to make a mental note of that."
The various types of training that Eito will have to go through sound tough, and intimidate him slightly. However, he knows they are necessary, and he is determined. However, fighting was something that threw everything he was thinking of completely off. "Fighting? How am I supposed to take on even Rookie Digimon? I'd have to be lucky that my attackers are both weak and dumb! But... worst case scenario, backed into a corner... you're right."
Eventually, only one question is left. "When do we set off for training?"

"One to seven ratio, yeah. So that means I've been separated form Aniki like... a year and nine months..." Valt looked at Ryouta who looked away from the piercing stare. "...Well, I know it's not your fault but still... I wonder what happened if Hikaru didn't get revived on time... I gotta thank him somehow..."
Though, Eito's doubt is definitely understandable. "When fighting against Digimon, you need to watch out for three stuff: One, Digimons tends to be stronger than you. Not only that, they have skills that might make it even trickier to fight with them. Two: Digimons tends to be shorter than you. Shorter fighter combined with their strength makes it ultra challenging for you to somehow win versus them in direct confrontation. Not only they're more nimble, they tend to be able to overpower you. Three: Digimons tends to be more battle smart than you. Then how can you win against Digimon you ask?"
Valt raises another hand. "One, they tend to underestimate you. Look at Aniki. As huge as he is, a lot of Digimon think that he's weak, but the moment he get serious, that's when they get scared. 'The prey suddenly barred their fang' is what tend to scare Digimon. Two, they tend to not focus on you. You're an extra, a baggage most of the time to them. As long as you can make them think that you're an extra and caught them off guard, you have more chance to win. Three: Never let them use their skill. Use the tools that might help. Ki arts, as stupid as it looks, could help blind enemies and make them think you got skills too. These are the basics. Anyway, shall we move to the Server Wood?"

Eito sort of tunes Valt out when he begins talking about more personal matters. It probably had to do with the amnesia thing, but unless they were talking about the hows and whys, he wasn't really that interested. Being attacked by Digimon and having to fight them without his partner - now that more than interested Eito.
Stronger, faster, more skilled... Ryouta was not exactly giving a pep talk to Eito. From what it sounded like, there was no real chance for Eito to beat a digital opponent. He even shudders slightly at how outmatched he would be. Luckily, the conversation turns to how Eito could possibly defend himself. Be underestimated... be overlooked... stop the opponent from using their skills and make them think you have skills too? That all added up to one thing.
"So... catch them off-guard and trick them, basically? Never let a fight be a fair fight? Is that the gist? But... what are these Ki arts?"
No more time for questions, it is time to head to Server Woods!

"The fair fight only valid when you're fighting in a spar," Ryouta reasoned. "When fighting another in real situation, the one who fight dirty wins. That's always the case. Real fight is always a dirty fight, and it might cause more than injury, but it's better than being injured yourself."
"Eito," this time Valt called out "...for us partnered Digimons, human are our king piece. You guys could get checkmated easily. Let's not lie and be frank, you guys are squishy as hell. Smart enemies want you dead because if you are, none of us could evolve. Worse, we might die along with you. That's why, I'm just giving you training so you won't be totally helpless and can defend yourself in worst situation. So you can run, so you can turn the tide, no matter how little. The longer you survive, the better it is for your team. That's why, we'll also teach you how to think outside the box. I know this sounds intimidating, or hell, seriously intimidating, but it'll all worth it, I promise."

"You are right," Eito says, "there's no such thing as 'fair' in a life-or-death battle. There's barely such a thing as 'fair' at all, unfortunately, but especially in a fight. I do not wish to harm anyone, but if I must to protect myself or that which I care about, I cannot hesitate."
Valt's fear-inspiring, blunt yet accurate words further reinforce these feelings. "Y-you're right. I need to learn how to survive, and not just for my own sake. The worlds are dangerous, but especially this one. I need to be able to protect myself - and thus my partner or partners - from at least a bit of the chaos. I cannot let myself be a soft, easy target. I will admit I'm a little scared - terrified even. But I'm also alert, and ready to learn how to use that alertness to my advantage. I am ready to head to your training grounds."
