When it came to the pair's arrival to the nearby Trailmon station in the Network Plains, Haru had hoped that just maybe... maybe they'd have spotted their awol team doctor, but unfortunately their luck seemed to have run out regarding that. While nothing seemed off at the Trailmon station, no cats around beyond her own.
"Ya don't think he already took the Trailmon, did he?" the girl questioned, unable to spot any sign of the calico cat. The Trailmon wasn't even supposed to be here at this time, so what gives? Did they beat him to the punch? Then again, it was gonna take another 20 or so minutes before another Trailmon, so what gives?
"I don't know... I don't take the doctor as the type to lie, at least not without good intent." Tawna softly spoke, a hint of frustration in their voice at being unable to spot the doctor. While she was unsure if perhaps her worries were just her overreacting, she sincerely hoped it was just an overreaction. The doctor's behavior was off, that was what her gut was telling her... even the strongest or wisest individuals can make rash decisions if their heads aren't completely screw on.
Haru gave out a disappointed sigh as the two began to walk away from the station, planning to head back to the library... At least until Haru got another message from Digivice. New scan data of some sort...? The moment she took the device and glanced at the database, she noticed the newest entry was actually from the missing party they were looking for... The entry though cause Haru's eyes to widen.
... Super Mega? Wh-what? How? Why is Mikemon with a Super Mega-level Gallantmon?! That's not normal at all... She gave Tawna a worried look as she showed them the data, Tawna's look becoming one of fear.
"... That is bad. No one capable of hitting Super Mega uses that form casually...!" the Meicoomon panicked, she recognizing a Digimon such as this one as something highly dangerous... but why were they with the doctor? She gritted her teeth, glancing to Haru. "Haru! We need to find him! Fast!"
Haru's breathing seemed to falter, she recognizing the look on her partner's look on their face as pure terror... Were they implying that...? She paused, closing her eyes as she took a deep breath... giving her partner a determined and nodding back.
Swiftly, the Meicoomon enveloped herself in a cocoon of data, dark data swirling as their form grew massive, replaced with the familiar shape of Raguelmon earlier. The fallen ophanim Digimon bent down to scoop up her partner, resting them on their shoulders... "Hold on!" the bestial Digimon yelled, soon taking off into the air... trying to find any sign of the doctor or that mystery Digimon's presence.
As far as they both could guess, their friend was in mortal danger... and neither was going to let that slide.

When Haru had taken to look at that new post on her scanner, the fight had already started: Mikemon, for better or worse, squared off against a blue-caped Gallantmon (X), a fair distance north of The Great Moving Library - and from the time that Tawna plucked Haru up off the ground, to the time that they'd likely find the doctor, a good three or four minutes would have passed. In all, it might not have seemed like that much time.
But even three minutes, under the pressure of squaring off against a Super Mega that wanted you dead, felt like an eternity. Even at Mega, the doctor's only real advantage was in his size, able to narrowly avoid the swift strikes of the Gallantmon in repeated motion. In their first exchange, not a word was shared between them: Mikemon managed to push off the shield, and gain a small bit of distance, only to snarl as the Knight quickly bared down on him.
Tch! Alright, this was bad. Feeling the side of that lance scrape past his side, Mikemon knew he had no chance in an extended battle. Knowing that much, he clasped his hand around his crystal ball, the gauntlet of 'Digizoid Will' covering his right arm. He strained his eyes in focus, looking for any point he could attack the Knight in a decisive way. One lucky punch was all he needed... and there, a chance! As the Gallantmon poised his lance to strike, his foot slipped ever-so-slightly against the mud - and the cat pressed in, kicking off both feet, moving past the lance as he attempted to land one good 'Lightning Paw' to the center of the Knight's head!
Alas, though, it was not to be. With a sudden 'jolt', Mikemon felt himself stopped in the air, a tight grip held around his chest. He blinked, chancing a glance down, to see that the Knight had dropped the lance entirely, and snagged the cat in his bare hand. A moment later, a bright, powerful flame enveloped the gauntlet, surrounding the cat in a searing flame. Gritting his teeth, he somehow endured it... though the gauntlet itself cracked and fell to pieces, quickly dissipating into trash data under the pressure.
With Mikemon's weapon destroyed, Gallantmon gave a flick of the wrist, tossing the cat down on the ground with a harsh tumble and roll - and the cat was slow to get up. Forcing himself on his knees, he grit his teeth, to see the knight walking forward. "After so long, Greed, you'll finally get to pay your dues." The Gallantmon, confident but cautious, slowly stepped forward, a tight, spiraling energy around his lance. The cat couldn't move - but he wasn't about to simply fall over! Forcing a dark energy around his left hand, he lashed out, the blast striking Gallantmon's lance, and catching his legs in the process! With a bit of focus, his quick 'Shadow Stitching' secured the lance and legs to the ground.
Now if I could just -
"GAH!" Before he could even move, though, Gallantmon's shield let out a bright glow, aimed right in the cat's direction, letting out what looked like a soft, radiant light. Its appearance hid the truth: this was a heavy torrent of holy energy, the grass beneath flattening as if held in a heavy bit of 'gravity'. The Doctor's legs buckled back, the cat left struggling on his hands and knees, as Gallantmon broke the shadow binding!
"Farewell, demon." The weapon was freed, leveled right at Mikemon's face, the feline gritting his teeth. He racked his mind - there was nothing he could do like this!

Needless to say, the Raguelmon and her tamer as they glided across the sky were in a panic... and why would they not be? Reasonable doubt was giving them plenty of anxieties regarding the doctor's safety, enough to be so willing to try and scout the land for the missing Mikemon. Fortunately (or perhaps not, for it only reassured them that their fears were justified) as Tawna felt what could only most certainly be an intense fight in the area... one data signature being the doctor's, the other unknown. "... It's here!" the Raguelmon exclaimed, gliding to what she could only assume was the source of the intense energy in the area.
A fight was breaking out... and well, needless to say that Mikemon was being brutally outmatched by the knight Digimon. Haru's heart skipped a beat as she witnessed Mikemon practically struggling for his life trying to fend off the Gallantmon... the royal knight seemingly shrugging off nearly everything the calico cat threw at them. She knew Mikemon was deceptively strong, but against a Super Mega...? Unfortunately, it was a hopeless case it seemed... but not if they intervened.
Both Haru and Tawna had more or less the same thought right now... they saw their friend in danger, and they were not going to stand to simply allow them to be attacked like this, regardless of the circumstances.
"Hold on Haru!" the ophanim growled at the girl on her shoulder, diving down from the sky as they aimed to quickly close the distance between them and the battle at hand. The violet gemstones that adorned her gauntlets, waist and wings glew brightly as the Raguelmon took an offensive stance... aiming down at Gallantmon. "Pahorus!" the Mega level yelled, sending out a rapid fire assault of black arrows made of energy down at the knight, aiming to try and get their attention and buy the doctor perhaps some valuable time to get back on their feet.
Tawna is attacking Gallantmon with Pahorus
Pahorus - The violet gem-stones surrounding Raguelmon's body light up as she unleashes a barrage of dark arrows to attack foes from a distance. Foes damaged by this attack are marked by Raguelmon until the end of her next turn, giving her a massive speed boost while moving towards them. (Cooldown: 1 Turn)

Damn it... damn it!
Nothing came to mind, nothing would work! Held in the grip of that heavy, radiant light, Mikemon could barely struggle, even as the Gallantmon loomed forward. The Knight stood there, poised, intent on removing the once-feared Demon Lord from the face of the world. Time seemed to slow down for the cat, his nails dragging through the dirt. Thoughts of how to act against the knight faded away, other thoughts filling his head.
Thoughts of the Science Club, of the dorky Dark Lord Dio, of video games and laughter in Haru's apartment. Memories of his medical accomplishments, of his long career with Stingmon. Longings to see K one more time, to be able to watch his child grow and prosper.
He thought it to be the end, with a very heavy heart. But one line, one utterance, brought him right back to reality:
"Hold on, Haru!"
As frightening as this was? Hearing that, Mikemon's heart sank. The Gallantmon turned first, quickly squaring his stance against this new adversary. The knight's shield was quickly raised, arrows simply snapping off the superior material. Unfortunately, that call-out gave the Gallantmon enough time to form a proper response: rather than simply wait for Tawna to approach, Gallantmon instead kicked off, intent to slam his shield directly against the Raguelmon's torso!
Should he get this close, the Gallantmon's eyes would lock right on with Raguelmon's - the warrior giving an audible "tch"," seeing Haru still on her shoulder. It was Haru's presence that made the Knight hold back at first: instead of firing an attack in proper, he would instead push out his shield arm with a shove, intent on forcing the Raguelmon to the ground - on her feet! Should this shove work, the shield would gain a slight glow, two of its eight arrows glowing bright.
"Put her aside. I don't wish to spill more blood than I must." Even now, the Gallantmon's eyes flickered, scanning through Tawna's data - as Mikemon, in the background, slowly staggered up to his feet.
Now that its come to this, I can... can...
No, he couldn't: a quick reach under his glove showed that the initial 'Dragon Flame' had destroyed the very 'Demon Pills' he had stowed away, as well as heavily damaged his gloves in general. At that realization, he staggered - and finally, called out:
"Get away! This isn't your time!"
Log:
Gallantmon uses his shield to completely block Pahorus, and instead of launching an attack in proper, propels forward with a 'shield slam', intent to force Tawna to the ground.

Both Haru and Tawna had most of the same thoughts regarding trying to put an end to this conflict quickly and hopefully with as little violence needed... Neither knew exactly why the Gallantmon was attacking Mikemon of all things, but they knew that this fight had to end.
Unfortunately, easier said than done... While they knew the power gap, the stark contrast between a Mega level attack against these defense did barely anything to the massive shield the knight Digimon carried. What was meant to be a diversion for Mikemon proved to put them both at risk as well, the Raguelmon unable to react properly towards the sudden shield bash from the royal knight followed by they being shoved back. The bestial angel Digimon was forced to land, they struggling to stand against the immense pressure being weighed down on them.
The Raguelmon growled painfully, trying to muscle her way through the Gallantmon's strength... but try as she might, she was failing to even be able to push them back... what kind of brute was this capabale of doing such a thing?! "L-let... ME GO." she managed to mutter, feeling her talons digging into the ground.
Haru needless to say had been barely holding onto her partner, clinging onto dear life... She could feel the intense blow the knight Digimon had inflicted on Tawna, though it was clear they weren't necessarily using lethal force... yet. The fact they weren't was almost a bit of an insult, especially after clearly having prior been attacking the doctor. "E-Excuse me, but why?! Why are you doing this?! That's our friend you were attacking!" the girl called out to the knight, a hint of justified rage at their actions (relapsing into the Raguelmon being weighed down by Gallantmon's own anger seemingly increasing).
Until they got answers... not much was going to dissuade either girl from walking away with their tails tucked under their legs... an admirable display of guts, but it also meant they were tossing the doctor's own warning out into the blue.

Tch - what a stubborn girl! Having successfully forced Raguelmon against the ground, Gallantmon simply kept up the pressure - even taking the effort to angle his shield slightly downwards to make it more difficult for the opposing mega to pull back. Of course, that was simply a weight on Tawna - it would have been very easy, and preferable to the Gallantmon, should Haru have simply given the fight some distance.
Instead, the dragon knight was met with Tawna's frustration, and Haru's spoken objection. Oh, of course, these two were friends of the cat! "Mm? I see Greed's words have pulled a veil over your eyes as well? Though, I'm not surprised that he kept one like you in his company." The last part of that comment was directed right at Tawna - as that shield continue to bear down on her, the lance held in the opposite arm gained a bright blue glow. Haru aside, Gallantmon had no reservation against taking the Raguelmon's life as well: "Just another brutal murderer!"
Haru might be better able to see it in her peripheral vision - the Knight brought his other arm inward, intending to slam the side of that lance against Tawna's side, energized with a powerful electric current! Should that strike, that powerful current would race through and electrocute the Raguelmon - and Haru, should she maintain contact!
"No... no, damn it!" From a distance, Mikemon tried to step forward, but simply stumbled over himself. Frustrating as it was, his body still wasn't listening to him!
Log:
Gallantmon has scanned Tawna's data. Weighing down that shield over the Raguelmon, he charges his opposite hand and weapon with electricity. Rather than pull back for a full swing, the knight instead tries to hit Tawna's sides with the side of his own weapon, like a glorified baton, to discharge his Lightning Joust through her frame!

Tawna already was growing irritable towards the Gallantmon, not just from the fact that the knight was forcing them down against their will... but also just the way they were acting. There was something extremely cocky and self-righteous about them that ticked her off, as if they attacking them all was justified. While they were not wrong about she being a murderer (though there was no way they could have known...), she wasn't some damned monster. "You know... NOTHING about me... You couldn't FATHOM the hell I've went through..." the Raguelmon angrily growled, their eyes widening as they noticed the glow of electricity adorning their weapon. Realizing their poor positon, the Mega level's eyes gleamed as she aimed to put the Gallantmon's choice of weighing them down against them... their large form being forced down a spectral that appeared directly below them. A second portal materialized by the downed Mikemon, Tawna with Haru still attached to their shoulder dropping down from it as their tail wrapped around the doctor's weakened form. "... How about you go be self-righteous somewhere else prick instead of picking fights with people who don't want any of that shit."
As much as she'd have loved to brutalize (either physically or verbally) the knight Digimon, they recognized their strength as being too much for even her to handle... and with both the doctor and Haru in harm's way, it would have been risky to even try to fight. Do they need to run? No... This knight was lightning-fast and could probs catch up with them... Were there really no other options?
Haru was having much of the same thoughts, though the girl unlike her partner realized there was at least one way out of it... Gallantmon seemed to be really vindictive, though she had to know why. Why were they attacking them now? She wasn't dumb... there was more to this picture than was being given, and she NEEDED to know. "Mister Gallantmon, I'm begging you... answer my question. Why are you doing this? Tawna and Mikemon are good people!" the girl called out to the knight, a desperate tone to their voice that was accompanied by dead-seriousness.
Tawna has used Cosmic Journey to escape Gallantmon's grasp, picking up Mikemon with her tail.
Cosmic Journey - A variant of Brane Jumper, Rasielmon creates a dimensional gateway to travel. In combat, it functions more or less exactly the same as Brane Jumper; allowing her to more or less as a free-action teleport moderate distances even in mid-combat. They are also able to be used to extend the range of her attacks (though other attacks will rupture them entirely) or to assist in dodging an attack. The only real limitations of this ability is that she can only rip about two holes a turn, one entry hole and one exit hole. (Cooldown: 2 Post)

"Don't you dare try and tell me what hell is like." Amidst all the bluster, Tawna would find that one remark practically hissed at her, a mere foot away from the Raguelmon's face. This wasn't the tone of a beast trying to kill for fun, or even one trying to indiscriminately and foolishly challenge evil. No, there was a certain weight, a personal tone held to those words, a desparation that radiated with the powerful, crackling energy in his lance.
For the moment, though, Gallantmon came up empty: the force driving her down against the ground was enough to practically force her through that conjured portal. Even as she reemerged, Mikemon easily plucked up by that blackened tail, Gallantmon already turned to face her new position. Clad in that azure cape, the Knight once more stepped forward, metal armor clicking with each step. Mikemon wanted to tell Haru and Tawna to simply drop him and run, but before he could even get the word out, Haru asked that damning question.
About five yards away, the Gallantmon stopped on the spot, his gaze relatively neutral to the tamer herself. He seemed hesitant, for the briefest moment, but settled his gaze on the Raguelmon first.
"Floramon. Gatomon. Lunamon. Hawkmon." The names might seem random, but perhaps after the second, Tawna might understand the very cutting gaze underneath them: "Even in this life, I see the data of at least fifteen rookies you've cut short - those four within the span of six days. Judging by how tight they are held to your core, these weren't taken in passing - you had delight in your heart as you took them. A gluttonous beast like you has no right to level their words even at the lowest scum. And even at that..."
His 'curious' tone quickly changed to one much darker, eyes leveled at that wretched form, held taut in that tail's grip. "Its nothing compared to him. Entire armies rend away to crimson dust at his beck and call." Mikemon visibly winced at the accusation, eyes cast away, as the Knight continued to advance: "Innocents. Workers. Emboldened knights and heroes wanting to stop his advance - all nothing but objects for him to assimilate. And when his 'time' finally came, that Demon Lord, Greed, simply vanished. Taking the lower form of a kitten to live for another 400 cycles."
"..." The cat remained silent, teeth clenched at this cutting accusation. "400 cycles - 400 years he's comfortably lived, stolen off the lives he's claimed before. Even his life." Clutching briefly to that blue cape, the Gallantmon clearly speaking of someone long gone, the Knight squared his stance.
"This is the 'good person' you know. Now. Stand aside." His tone was calm, directed right towards Haru. "Leave them be."
Mikemon... well, he didn't speak to defend himself, but he had become noticeably less 'tense' in Tawna's tail, not even daring to meet eye contact with any of the other three. Eventually, he managed to mutter something, just audible enough for Haru to hear:
"I'm sorry."
Despite the brevity, the weight of that unspoken confession held itself heavy in the air.

Tawna at first merely glared ever more venomously at Gallantmon, the Raguelmon's eyes squinting judgementally at this so-called knight... Sure enough though as soon as the third name came out, their angry expression began to wane as their breathing grew slow.
Haru had figured that Tawna wasn't completely innocent, but the way that Gallantmon rattled off names like that... there was more to her friends, wasn't there? Things that... well, probably would have been better off for them all not sharing. Even... Even Mikemon? The fact that Gallantmon seemed to consider them worse was equally heart-pounding to hear about... Never would she have assumed Mikemon, a doctor... one who helps save lives... Never would she have imagine them to have ended so many. At least armies...
For a moment, Haru wanted to refuse to believe that any of the words the knightly Digimon was throwing out were true... but the way Mikemon so dejectedly apologize... it began to cause them doubt. Even Tawna, whom while she was linked with in a manner capable of at least understanding the other's thoughts and emotions... The fact that all of the bitter rage and anger they had directed to Gallantmon had seemed to vanish, replaced by guilt...
"... I... I will not hide I am a monster. Maybe just a mere shadow of what the doctor has done, but I do not hide that I revel in the feeling of death... the emotion of ending a life and adding it your own. For a time, it was all I had to guide me... hunger and power is an intoxicating lil' drug, ain't it?" the Raguelmon spoke in a low growl, tilting their head down in mild shame... actually unable to even make eye-contact. They weren't the type to normally be dissuaded, but Gallantmon had some damn good reasons to want her dead as well. "... Shoot, I'd want myself dead too if I were in your position... but I really am just making excuses at this point."
It was a sentiment that they were sharing right now with Mikemon... Villains who have been trying to walk away from their sins, as if nothing ever happened. Gallantmon had their cards, and she was sure the only thing keeping her and Mikemon being deleted on the spot was Haru still nearby.
Yet... despite these unpleasant revelations, Haru did not budge from her spot on the Raguelmon's shoulder. Despite the knowledge that two of her dear friends were killers in the past... she couldn't think of the possibility of just leaving them to their fates. The girl shook her head, a look of emotional turmoil on their face. "... No, there has to be another way. This isn't the only way things should be. More death doesn't solve anything." the young woman spoke, soon meeting Gallantmon with a direct look with somewhat newly-moistened eyes.
If neither Tawna nor Mikemon were willing to defend themselves... she would just have to do it for them.
"... I know its not my right to say this, but this can't be the only answer... Your just doing what you think is right, but this is not justice. Maybe its true that they were bad people, but people can change! Even the worst people can be redeemed if they just try... That's what I wholeheartedly believe!" they spoke, their voice growing more resolute as their will hardened again, they shutting their eyes as their attention was directed to both of the feline Digimon. "... Mikemon, Tawna... I am disappointed in both of you... maybe a bit angry for hiding this; but I want to let you know that you both are still my friends and none of this changes that."
The Raguelmon actually flinched ar the girl's words, finding it hard to believe that Haru was this forgiving. It was borderline naive if anything, as she sincerely doubted their words would reach Gallantmon... but it did slightly rekindle their own hopes knowing that even now, she wasn't alone.
Haru took a deep breath, giving Gallantmon a glare... not one of misplaced anger, but one of pure grit and determination. "Mister Gallantmon, I respect you... but I can't walk away from this. I believe with every ounce of my soul that Mikemon and my partner are good people who've done bad things, and I would never be able to forgive myself if I let them die like this... This is my justice."

Well, well... it seemed these monsters were able to show a hint of guilt after all. On Gallantmon's accusation, it didn't take long for the venom to completely vacate itself from Tawna's voice, fully admitting to the crimes that the knight had declared. Even Dr. Mikemon, held in that tail, found himself unable to meet Haru's eyes, much less the Gallantmon. The built up shame and guild held for hundreds of years finally flowed to the surface.
This was a consequence Mikemon always knew could happen, and it was the very reason he tried to hide himself in his lower form. But now that it all came to a head, all he could do was grit his teeth and look away. Neither he nor Tawna deserved the belief or mercy of anyone.
But Haru gave her's anyway.
Despite the declaration, despite the sheer evil exposed in both of their hearts, Haru seemed to hold on tighter to her partner, desperately pleading to the Knight in her own effort to save them. The tamer knew that she couldn't convince the Gallantmon through power, so she did what she could - trying to appease to the very heart of the executioner before them. Raguelmon's flinch was paired with Mikemon's own, his eyes looking upon the tamer in disbelief. Did these two mean that much to him?
The Knight, for the moment, seemed to give pause... but soon returned the tamer his own glare. His own determination, his rage, his justice enforcing his stance.
"... They can be redeemed?" His hand gripped around that lance. "This is your justice?" The shield's glow emboldened itself, the Knight taking a step forward. "Then where is their redemption? Where is the redemption for the lives they stole, the entire lineages ended under Greed's thumb? If this is your justice, tamer, then this is mine."
Once more, that lance pulsed with a powerful current of electricity - but even now, he held himself, a 'final' tone held in his words. "Raguelmon. If you've ever wanted to atone for anything, then start by removing your tamer from your back."
He leveled that weapon, right at the mega's chest. "Set her aside. Once I start again, this will be nothing but a slaughter."

It was a good effort on Haru's part... it genuinely was. If anything, Haru's words just exemplified just how wonderful of a person Tawna thought they were... but even such a display wasn't enough to captivate Gallantmon's heart. It was intimidating to say the least, even for the Raguelmon... Gallantmon's own convictions were stronger still, and it did not matter what a man, woman, or Digimon's intentions were... anyone with convictions this strong wasn't the type to be easily dissuaded away from their goals.
They all were at a set of crossroads... It was just a matter of what she and the doctor did now.
"... I see then..." the Mega level softly spoke, giving the knight's words a gentle nod before backing off several steps back... holding a hand out to Haru, motioning them to climb on their large palm. "Haru... climb down." Tawna sternly ordered, the ophanim's intense glare directed to the ground.
If anyone has ever witnessed what Haru was like, it was easy to predict their reaction... which with the way they clung to the Raguelmon showcased their defiance EVEN after being threatened by Gallantmon. "Tawna... I'm not letting you two die like this!" they angrily spoke, a desperate look on the tamer's face even now.
Tawna's face seemed to grow solemn, they closing their eyes briefly as they sighed... plucking the girl forcefully off their back and setting them down. "I know... I know... but your making one assumption." they quietly spoke to Haru, Mikemon perhaps able to barely hear the Mega level's voice as their tone seemed to grow more stoic. "Who said either of us were dying?"
As the Raguelmon stood back up as Haru retreated, the grip their tail had on Mikemon's weakened body loosened... dropping the smaller feline back onto the ground as they turned to face the knight Digimon before them. A slaughter they claimed this would be... but Tawna couldn't allow that to happen... Not with Haru banking so much hope on her and Mikemon right now. It didn't matter that the odds were stacked up against them... They had the first person who ever reached out to her believing in them. The Raguelmon sudddenly stamped their clawed feet onto the ground, digging into the soil as a perverse mixture of holy and dark energy formed an aura around them. "Up on your feet, doctor... UP on your feet! She isn't giving up on you either PUNK!" Tawna immediately screeched, not at Gallantmon... but at the injured Mikemon by her.
There was no chance of winning alone... but together?

Oh? At least the Raguelmon had some sense: seeing Tawna's nod, and her following instruction to the tamer, the Gallantmon lowered his lance. Brutal and unforgiving as he may had been to the two Digimon, the Knight still held no ill blood towards the human, nor did he want to kill any more than he needed to.
This did not mean, of course, that the Knight expected the two to merely surrender. The Gallantmon merely looked on without comment as Tawna spoke about surviving, about any last stand that they may have had. Thanks to this bit of mercy, Tawna had time to deposit the Mikemon on the ground, the doctor taking a few moments to get back up on his feet.
"Don't worry... I hear you." Tawna was in far too deep for the doctor to bother begging her to get away now - in fact, the Knight seemed almost equally interested in them at this point. In truth, though, Mikemon knew the math: it took four or five megas to stand on equal footing with one Super Mega, and without his crystal sphere, Tawna and Mikemon were about two-and-a-half megas too short to even challenge the Gallantmon.
"Have you two prepared yourselves?" Seeing the two square against him, the dragon stood astride, using his shield to cover his front. He was an intimidating force, to be certain - but off to the side of the fight, perhaps out of knowing earshot of any of the fighters, Haru's Digivice had started to give off a persistent beep.
Should she check the screen?Synchronization Check... OK
Data Check... OK
Recognizing Form... Somehow, 'something' felt right to the doctor. Seeing the Knight ready himself a short distance away, Mikemon gave a nod...
... And simply held out a hand, palm up, as if offering it to the Raguelmon. "Look at us... two peas in a pod, in more ways than one, aren't we?" Merely muttering that, the doc gave a grin.
"For her. For Haru."

Each passing second Tawna experienced was... to say the least, awful. The odds she and Mikemon had right of defeating Gallantmon were slim, what with Mikemon injured and the two of them being only mere Mega levels. Yet... At the same time, the Raguelmon felt a strong sense of kinsmanship towards the small feline... They both had things they were desperately fighting for, and this was their last hour.
Its now, or never she thought to herself, the almost two-story tall ophanim thought to herself, she reaching their large hand down towards the doctor's.
As Haru stayed in the sidelines, an air of anticipation pervading the battlefield... she noticed her Digivice displaying new information to her... some of which caused the girl's eyes to widen. Unfortunately, she had no time to process any of this before it was too late... a miraculous light blinding her as she briefly witnessed her two friends' forms glowing...
When Tawna next opened her eyes, it wasn't in the heat of combat, nor even it felt in reality... She felt a rather floaty sensation, as if her form had no substance. Indeed, to her it merely appeared she was in her Meicoomon form; the core and most defining aspect of her self. Her surroundings were equally substanceless; an empty white-pastel void that was strangely comforting to be in... as if it were just a mere aspect of them.
It wasn't long before she realized... this was her Digicore. In it's most raw state, this was everything about her opened up like a book... She would have been able to relive any of her memories she still had, whether her own... or those of the lives she had stolen. A grisly thought, but it was perhaps a disturbing one to dwell on that her data was old enough hat many of her past victims' data has merely become background data... completely part of her whole being and only barely distinct enough to separate from her pure data. Some was more recent of course, such as the data from Arkadimon back in Old Terminus... and very much the data of the Digimon she HAD loaded this life.
It just seemed so inconsequential back then... Once, she was filled with little more but that pervasive feeling of hunger, fueled by a wound freshly cut from agony and betrayal was all she had to guide her. She had been hesitant since befriending Haru to really revisit these memories, but... Gallantmon just had to remind her that she wasn't a good person.
At the same time, Tawna distinctly felt another presence, one that was somewhat familiar but still alien to her at the same time. It... It felt like the doctor, but at the same time not quite? There was more to the doctor, wasn't there? Gallantmon would not have been so determined to off them if there had not been reason to do so. There WAS the mere fact that Mikemon's own Mega level was... interesting to say the least, what with it seemingly identical to his Champion level.
Greed... Mikemon... Which was the real identity of the doctor? She... she had to know. The doctor... they were here, somewhere at least. This space wasn't just her Digicore... it was a mixture of both of theirs, though for now she was in a chunk that was primarily her own. The question remained though, where was the doctor? "... Doctor! Doctor!" they began to call out into the void, wandering towards where they hoped him to be.

Indeed - in this open expanse of 'infinite white', Tawna wasn't alone. What had seemed like an endless void expanding around in all directions was nothing but a dense fog, thickly surrounding her own data. This was how nearly every core would appear from its very depths, a central hub of data that both took in and produced code for the entire Digimon. What Tawna was looking at, for herself, wasn't just 'Tawna', it was also 'everything Tawna was' and 'everything Tawna could still be'.
For Tawna, this sensation was likely new.
For Mikemon? Well, he'd seen it before. As those words cut out into the void, a veil through the fog would pierce open. Just a stone's throw away, Tawna would see another fog, another core, though it would have a feel far different than her own. A dense, gray cloud orbited around, each part of the data feeling a touch different than the bit next to it. Indeed, the Meicoomon might have been sensing Greed's prior victims - just how many could their be? The sheer volume may have felt overwhelming, like the Meicoomon could easily 'trip' and add herself to it...
... But there was no danger. As Tawna's veil had pierced open, so too did the Doctor's. Mikemon stood, his back currently facing Tawna - but his appearance might not have been what she expected. He still took the form of Mikemon, the feline, but Barbamon's cloak (X) was draped over his shoulders, the golden mask clutched in his left hand. His attention faced forward, towards the center of his own core: one that was stark white, sparking with red energy, with one tight ring of gold data surrounding the core.
"To think I'd be looking at this again." Mikemon sighed, shaking his head: "This is my life's work: altering this core. Removing my Title as a Demon Lord, to try and exist 'normally' in this world." He chuckled at that thought, flicking that cloak, shaking his head. "But it seems this place won't forget who I was, no matter how much I try."
At that, the cat turned, simply giving a nod to the Meicoomon. She was on his side, after all - much easier to sense within his own data. "This is everything I am."
Should Tawna focus, she'd see: his acts as the Demon Lord, Greed. His time trying to conceal himself, the time he spent trying simply to hide, and his recent distaste for the world... as well as the good: the spirit wielders who changed his worldview. The Renamon that gave him a reason to live. Even the joyful experiences with the club... and that egg, the driving forces driving his will to stay alive.
Just as before, Mikemon would extend his hand outward - perhaps those scenes would be on in the background, or perhaps Tawna simply trusted him implicitly.
"For what its worth," the cat joked, "you would have been much better off in my court, than the angel's."

Tawna as she gazed deeper into this abyss realized there was more to this than just her own memories... something beyond her own core. It did not take long for her to eventually come upon the source of this foreign presence... and a complex presence it was. Her own core was engorged on the data and memories of others, but Gallantmon was right... she paled in comparison to this. While she felt safe here, there was no denying that Mikemon was a far more dangerous individual than he appeared to be.
By the time she ultimately could see the doctor, she realized now the full extent of who this Digimon was... This was not simply Mikemon... This really was all whom they were, the side that the doctor never showed to anyone. The Demon Lord of Greed, Barbamon. It was difficult to breathe in the presence of the doctor, only now Tawna understand who he was... Yet she was not afraid. She had no reason to be afraid... for despite everything he was, she could tell this was not a Digimon to be afraid of.
The feline could not help but let out a sigh, she seemingly debating what to say in response to the doctor... having realized they had delved partially into their own core. She felt somewhat exposed, but at the same time it wasn't like she was the only one whose secrets were now an open book. She took a deep breath, lightly smiling as she let out a slight chuckle at the doctor's comment. "... I guess maybe. You did seem like the type who treated your minions well... Guess that explains why Stingmon seems to like ya." the Meicoomon softly spoke, gazing at some of the doctor's memories with him.
It was an interesting way to learn about someone... having two cores intertwined. Not much was hidden from either party now, Tawna cracking a lightly demure smile at the doctor. "Never told me you and K were a pair. Kid too... Pretty odd how fate turns out I suppose, an apostle of Jesmon and a former demon lord." the Meicoomon spoke, though their tone soon dropped slightly... shifting her focus to some of her own memories.
"You've failed your training once again dear... Seven seconds short." the Darcmon softly spoke, a disappointed tone to their voice as they gazed at the exhausted Salamon X, the small canine shivering fearfully with exhaustion. The two appeared to be at some kind of training course in the Elysium Fields, a circular marble racetrack around the cloudy region.
"I-I can do it! Pl-Please, give me another chance!" the Rookie begged, a terrified look on their face as they looked up to the humanoid puppet Digimon, chattering to their teeth... their eyes drawn to the blade in their hands.
"... You know how it goes. Lord Yggdrasil will forgive us both with time, but we must suffer to grow." the Champion level coldly spoke, shaking their head at the Salamon X. "Turn around and brace yourself." they ordered the Rookie before brandishing the blade they wielded in their hand, white fire wreathing its form.
Tawna backed out of the memory before it could continue any further, a shiver down the Meicoomon's spine as they winced. "Funny really... They were trying to train me into becoming a killing machine. The moment they pushed me too far though, I finally managed to live up to what I was meant to be..." the feline quietly spoke, glancing at the doctor. "I mean to be fair, they didn't ever tell me what not to kill. It doesn't pardon my actions, but it is clear to me now that even the innocent can be turned into remorseless monsters if not afforded even a shred of kindness."
