Well, this had been a long time coming.
After all, how could Mikemon say he was a member of the Club, if he consistently missed meetings and important jobs with his office in Whitewater? There would be no more of that - after some heavy discussion with his patients, he finally made the choice to move his office to The Great Moving Libary. Stingmon already had his own office built at the front of Mikemon's section - a secretary, which may eventually work for the whole tower - and Mikemon was finishing up handling the rest of the move.
That alone was simply good news - but the extra room that Mikemon was furnishing might have drawn a little more attention: pastel toned, soft colored paint? Covers on the electrical sockets? Well secured drawers... heck, a camera hard-wired to both Mikemon's office and quarters? With everything set up, tested, and cleared out, Mikemon giving the room one last look over, the cat gave a relieved sigh, and a smile.
"Alright... don't think that turned out too bad." He might have sounded like he was talking to himself, but no - holding a Digi-egg, one with a somewhat erratic black, blue, and orange checkered pattern, the cat gave a small chuckle. Setting it right in a basket - a makeshift incubator, holding it in a soft material - he gave the egg a careful pat. "Don't know if you're Duke or Syre - but either way, hopefully this'll work out for ya."

Surprisingly, for a change the duo of Carlos and Dio weren’t out and about exploring some abandoned ruin, fighting murderous cats, or anything of the sort. No, instead they were giving themselves a much needed rest, lazily hanging out around the Club’s base of operations, The Great Library. Carlos had only visited the moving fortress of a about twice or thrice at most, and they had all been relatively short visits to take care of “club business”, so he was now enjoying himself having a good look around the place, exploring and taking in every room.
While Dio had forgotten about the tour three rooms ago (too busy raiding the Library’s kitchen in search of sweets) Carlos was still too busy looking around to worry about food, too entertained in being awed and surprised at the wide array of rooms they had: some of them seemed to be used as glorified broom closets, abandoned for who knows how long and begging for a renovation, filled with boxes and various tools littered across the floor. Meanwhile some others seemed brand new and were clearly meant for a clear purpose, like the aforementioned kitchen, a study room filled with various books, and even a giant shower room.
However he never stuck around long enough to thoroughly explore any of the rooms, too eager to see the next one…that is until he found a familiar sight standing inside of one. The short cat digimon was on its own in one of the rooms, surprisingly enough not his office however.
“Hey Doc, whatcha up to…” The man would ask, before falling silent as his eyes finally took a good look into the room. Pastel colors? Security camera? Secured drawers? The sudden influx . The man simply stood silent for a while, slowly turning to face the cat. Eventually his mind was able to pick one out of the many questions he had to ask the Doctor.
“…w-we have a nursery now?” He asked, so bemused he completely glossed over the fact the Doctor standing next to an incubator like device holding a Digi-egg. The answer to his rather obvious question would have to wait however, as a voice soon came from the hallway.
“Hey dumbass, where you been? I found where they hid the cookie jar...” Dio said, peeking his head through the room’s door to take a look inside, looking for Carlos. What he found inside the newly made nursery however was enough to make him also fall silent, seemingly at a loss for words at this discovery. He was quicker to assemble the pieces of the puzzle than the human however, and as such he quickly noticed the incubator next to Mikemon.
Dio smiled slyly as he approached the two, ignoring the flabbergasted human and focusing on the doctor for now.
“Well fancy that, is the Greedy Doctor kidnapping babies now?” The imp asked in a joking tone, slightly nudging the cat in the shoulder. Ever since they had that honest heart to heart on his clinic it seemed as if Dio had a new found feeling of camaraderie for the cat, or at the very least any feeling of contempt that he had felt back when they just met was now gone…even if the doctor still had a way of getting under his skin with some of his wittier comments.

Honestly, Dr. Mikemon didn't expect that anyone would end up checking out his neck of the woods. Well, he wouldn't have been surprised to see Haru around, but this place was a bit out of the way - one would have to be looking for the cat specifically, or be checking out the whole place, in order to easily run into him.
And as it turned out, Carlos fell in that latter case! Mikemon's ear gave a twitch, the cat giving a blink as he looked over his shoulder. "Hm? Oh, hey, Carlos... um..." Right, it just caught up to him now just how much this might have looked out of place. He hadn't told anyone in the club about the egg yet, and the entire presence of this room just seemed to take Carlos by surprise. That simple, fair question earned a chuckle from the cat:
"Well... yeah, just today." He raised a paw, scratching the back of his head in a nervous chuckle - ah, a distraction! Dio, once he cast his eyes into the room, gave a similar pause to Carlos. The Impmon seemed to have caught on a bit sooner, though at that comment, the Doctor actually managed to return a chuckle: "Well, I dunno, Dark Lord. Shouldn't you be grabbing a nap rather than searching for sweets?" That little in-joke aside, Mikemon returning a nudge back to the Impmon, the doc figured that he should probably clear up some of the air here.
"And no, its not stolen. Not exactly 'adopted' either. The egg's, um... well. My kid." Stumbling a bit over his own words, the cat managed to finally just let it out, feeling a slight weight off his shoulders. Granted, there was probably a torrent of questions to come shortly after.
For now, though? "Heh. Guess the whole room doesn't exactly fit the rest of the library - but honestly, I couldn't think of a better place to build it!"

Unlike both Mikemon and Carlos, Amelie was more or less a normal fixture of The Great Moving Library; pretty much calling it her second home, one could say that her room in the team's base of operations was more decorated than its Human World counterpart! She has throughly made sure to stop every now and then to, at least to say hi to Ayumi, Usako-chan, and any other club members currently residing in there along her travels, among other, more leisurely visits.
What was she doing there at the moment, though? Well, that was pretty simple to answer! Currently, the brunette was comfortably taking what could only be described as a beauty nap, her body gently resting against a bed that was probably a better fit for a Greymon than a human.
Soon, however, that would've been interrupted by the sounds coming from one of the nearby rooms. Now, Amelie wasn't precisely a light sleeper, but sometimes, noises coming from nearby could wake her up, this being a pretty good example of that. Soon enough, Amy found herself waking up, putting a pair of slippers on her feet to match the pajamas she was currently wearing, feeling too lazy at the moment to change up to a proper attire before exiting the room.
Imagine her surprise when she found not just one club member, but three! Both Carlos, Dio and Mikemon were all there, and that prompted a big smile to find its way towards Amy's face. Quickly enough, she caught the last bits of their conversation, and that prompted her smile to grow even wider as she approached in what could be perceived as a flash.
"You're becoming a father!!!?" Amelie's voice was a shriek of pure and unadulterated elation, those were amazing news! So amazing that she had even forgotten to even say hi to the trio. They'd surely be at least a bit puzzled at how or why she had appeared in the hallway dressed in her pajamas, but those were probably irrelevant questions in the light of Mikemon's words. "That's awesome! You gotta tell me everything! Who's their mom? Are you having a wedding? Is she gonna be raised in The Library? Can I be the godmother?"
Mikemon would probably find himself a bit... overwhelmed, but that was a bit expected. With any luck, he'd probably be able to keep up.

"Please, I don't need naps if I have sweets. You're the Doctor here, you should know this." Dio replied, his tone one of mock indignation.
As if to pile on to the duo's confusion the newly painted room was generating, it seemed their talk had awoken Amelie from her slumber. Or at least that's what they assumed based on her clothing choices. Frankly, her sudden appearance into the room brought for more questions: Where she'd come from? Had she been sleeping here? Had she been listening on them or wandered by chance into the room much like Carlos a minute ago?
This and many another question would have to wait however, as her arrival was accompanied by Mikemon dropping... quite a bombshell of a revelation.
Unlike Amelie, Carlos' expression could only be described as a bemused stupor, and one could almost hear the gears on his head slowly turning as his brain assimilated the new info. Of course, it wouldn't take long for him to snap back to reality, mostly thanks to the girl's unrelenting barrage of questions. Truth be told her entusiasm was rather contagious, which was completely understandable. These were great news!
"Holy shit Doc, congrats!" The practically blurted out with a chuckle, a big dumb smile on his face as he too proceeded to ask his own assortment of questions. "How long till it hatches? Do we have to buy them gifts? Is it a boy or a girl? Oh, can I be the godfather too?"
Surprisingly Dio's reaction was a bit more subdued, simply falling quiet for a moment before shaking his head, an amused smirk etched on his face. He could certainly understand the big fuzz having a new member in the family could cause, but honestly the humans' reaction seemed a bit much, even for someone as overly dramatic as himself. It's not like it was one of their babies.
Still, he couldn't help but smile as he approached the cat a bit, before patting the doctor on the back."Heh, congratulations indeed, Doctor. So who's the lucky second half?" He asked, genuenly curious since, as far as he knew the cat wasn't seeing anyone, or at least not that he knew.

At the very least, Dio and Dr. Mikemon seemed to be getting along a lot more smoothly now - though they still jabbed at each-other, it seemed to be in a much more joking manner, a grin kept on both of their faces.
Of course, that would hardly be the focus - especially not with Amelie diving headfirst into the conversation! Though Amelie was still wearing her pajamas, the elated tone and excitement in her voice completely hid her exhaustion. Suddenly, a mountain of questions was being poured over in Mikemon's direction! Who was the mom, could Amelie be a godmother, could Carlos be the godfather? Put in this sudden predicament, Mikemon couldn't help but shoot a glance over towards the Impmon, the tone in the cat's eyes suggesting something along the lines of 'Really?!'
But, Mikemon supposed it was exciting news! Giving another chuckle back to the pair, the doctor shook his head. "Alright, alright, settle down. I haven't given too much thought about who the 'godmother' or 'godfather' is going to be, but I am going to raise the egg here. And... um..." Sheesh, what were those other questions?
"Let's see. I'd say its within a day or two of hatching, and I'm not sure if its a boy or a girl. Gifts are up to you, but please don't spend too much on me, alright?" That was simple enough - and the mom? "Honestly, I don't know if you've met the mom. She's a white-furred Renamon who goes by 'K'. Weddings aren't something we do on this side typically, but we have been together for almost half a year at this point?"
That sounded about right, answering at least most of the questions! Instinctively, Mikemon stepped closer to the egg, giving the shell a careful, warm rub. "So I don't know if the little one here's going to end up as a Salamon, Viximon, or Offmon. I'll, um, definitely be needing some help once the egg hatches, of course!"

Amelie absorbed the information right away, and the immediate response to every query that Mikemon had answered were progressively bigger smiles. Containing her excitement was an impossible task at this point.
"You can count on me! I'll be the best aunt ever!" Figure her surprise when she learned that the child's mother was none other than K, though! "Oh, I know her. She's definitely a good digimon; you got yourself a pretty nice ladyfriend, Mikemon! Half a year may be too soon to have kids already, but I guess one can't really argue against love!"
She repressed teasing him more a bit about it, mostly because she knew that both Carlos and Dio probably had something planned already. And giving space for them was important, right? There was one thing that she couldn't accept, though. And that was... "But! The lack of a wedding is something we gotta fix. Right, Carlos?" She needed an accomplice for this kinda stuff, after all. "At least let us throw a party for you and K to celebrate your little blessing. It's the least we can do, right?"
After all, The Library was big and she was sure that both Yukiko and Ayumi would be down to it!

Mikemon could appreciate Amelie's energy! His ear gave a twitch at her first response, the doctor returning a thankful nod. "I'm looking forward to it! Honestly, I'm a bit lost of how to handle this myself - sure, I've dealt with kids, but never one of my own." This was his first, after all - how could he expect to know everything?
But it seemed K was already quite the popular figure in the room, and returning a smile, he gave a nod. "Right on both counts there..." Even in the Digital World, such a quick 'union' wasn't all too common. However, Amelie's next suggestion almost made the cat stammer. A... a party? To celebrate K and himself? "Um... I mean, um... maybe?" He gave a nervous chuckle, sort of taken aback by her offer! "I don't mean to spoil it too much, but K is a wanderer in her own right. We have our own schedule and all but... well, I'll see if I can get her around." It might not be too much of a party, but it was something!
But, as for the egg itself? "Though I'm sure Duke-or-Syre here will love spending time with their new aunt. Honestly, it'll be nice to have 'em grow up along you all - I'll never have to worry about someone not looking out for her. Here," he gestured Amelie closer. He was cautious, of course - but he would let Amelie, at least, get a better look at the egg!

Finding out who was the mother and the Doctor’s significant other was rather surprising for the duo, for both different and similar reasons, that were all related to K in some fashion.
There were some…let’s call them details, not only regarding the safety of both the egg and Mikemon, but regarding their child’s…possible nature. As they say, the apple never falls far from the tree. And both the mikemon and the renamon made for a rather complex tree. Still, those were things both parents were most likely already aware of, and Carlos knew he was in no place to comment on it.
So he tried to not think about it, instead just smiling and nodding like Amelie did. “Well, small world, we’ve met K before too. I think you just got yourself a pretty good mother for the kid, Doc.”
Meanwhile Dio took the revelation…about as well as he could really, his eyes widening for a moment. “….K?” Frankly he…wasn’t sure how he felt about this. He wasn’t exactly happy, but he wasn’t upset either, if anything he just felt confused. And…perhaps even a smidgen jealous?
“I see…that’s good…” He responded in a somewhat monotone voice, massaging his temples as he leaned his back against the wall for a moment, trying to arrange his thoughts on the matter.
Carlos would have gone on to console his partner, had he not been distracted by Amelie suddenly putting him on the spot, clearly looking for some backup on her wedding idea. “Hell yeah. It doesn’t have to be even that big a party, just a small thing with us, K and the rest of the club.” He shrugged, frankly pretty interested on the idea as well. The club could have used a break from all the work, and what better excuse than a wedding party? “Come on Doc, it’ll be fun!”
Though if Amelie was going to be the “aunt”, what did that make everyone else on the Library? Ah well, they could sort those details later. “You got that right, I’m sure she’ll be happy here. I don’t know if we’ll be good influences for her though.” He’d chuckle, half jokingly, shooting a not exactly subtle glance at (the still rather bemused looking) Dio. He could only hope that at the very least his partner would keep his…rather colorful vocabulary to a minimum when Mikemon’s kid was around.
He’d peek curiously over Amelie’s shoulder, trying to get a good look at the egg. Truth be told, this was the first time he had seen one this close, and it surprised him just how big it was. Almost the size of an ostrich egg, give or take, which made sense considering how big Dio’s in training form was.
“Whew, that’s gonna be one big kid.”

It wasn't something that could be predicted easily, but Amelie herself was plenty sure that Mikemon would be a good parent; not overly sure about K herself since, just like the feline digimon had said, she was a bit of a free soul and didn't seem to be the 'homey' type that was usually the best when dealing with a newborn, but that was more or less fine.
Children of the Digital World seldom had parents, so only one would was, in a sense, a blessing. "Don't worry; I'm sure that everyone in the library will collaborate at raising your kid, Doctor. If there's one thing that Duke-or-Syre is gonna have in spades is a lot of love. I'm sure of it."
Whether that love was good intentioned or applied in the right way for a child to grow with a strong moral compass, that was up for debate! But, it wasn't like that was important at the moment or anything, considering that said kid hadn't been born yet.
Completely oblivious about how distraught Dio seemed to be in regard to the situation at hand, she just kept smiling, further fueled by Carlos' encouragement. "I mean, it's not like it'll be the biggest party ever, but commemorating your union and your future child is something worth celebrating, at least in my books!"
Of course, the brunette wasn't going to refuse the chance to give a closer look (or even cradle them in between her arms!) the unborn child for anything in the world, even though she knew that she had to be supremely careful in order to avoid a potential tragedy; no one wanted for that to happen. Her eyes were open with amazement her hand reached out, gingerly caressing the egg.
What could she say? Even if it was a small gesture, it definitely felt nice; interacting with a life that was still developing inside.

"Sheesh, not only Amelie, but you too? Well, can't be too surprised - K's quite incredible." Really, how was he supposed to add to that? Chuckling at the positivity of both, Dio's somewhat-monotone reaction falling into the background, Mikemon was once more 'pressured' about the party. With Carlos adding in on it, the cat gave a bit more of a concession for it:
"Well, I don't mind it - I'll see if K would be available, but if not, the egg itself's still a reason to celebrate!" That much was true, even if it was more for the sake of the rest of the club itself! But that wasn't the focus for the moment - if anything, Mikemon was going to be holed up for the next few days, as the egg - and eventual baby Digimon - would be introduced to the Library. Stepping next to Amelie as she would carefully pick the egg up, the doctor gave a smile.
A 'big' baby? "Oh, all Digi-eggs are around that size, nothing too big about it." But, perhaps the doctor had missed just how 'close' it was: only a few moments after Amelie would pick it up - and thankfully, after she had a good grip on it - the shell would start to stir, the Digimon within starting to 'tap' at the eggs sides. At that, the cat's eyes widened - very carefully bringing the spirit wielder's arms back down to the towel. "Hoo boy, careful there..." The tone in the cat's voice was both nervous and excited.
So soon? A faint light began to surround the egg's shell...

While the humans and cat were having a moment to discuss the future of the child, the small purple Dark Lord was still having a small crisis on a corner, his mind still processing the information of knowing that K, the one digimon he really looked up to (and perhaps, even more than that) was already with Mikemon.
But as distraught as he was, could he really fault K for this? Not…really. For all his bravado and self promotion, he had never mustered up the courage to admit to her how he felt. Not that he knew what it was he felt, mind you, but it was certainly a lot stronger than mere respect.
Besides, she had certainly been around for longer than he had, so it would stand to reason she had already found that someone but…him? The one digimon he would come across on an almost every time he set foot on the library? Now wasn’t that a cruel joke.
And now they had a baby too…that was still too much for him to take in.
Meanwhile this was going on, however, Carlos was too busy already looking forward to the whole “Library raising Duke-or-Syre” thing as Amelie would put it. Were any of them qualified to take care of a baby? Well…he wasn’t all too sure about that, but most if not all of them had dealt with younger digimon before, so at the very least they had some degree of experience with that. Besides, digimon children worked a bit differently than human’s to put it mildly, how hard could it be?
Though according to the Doctor his egg wasn’t bigger than any other egg. “Heh, well, I mean, never seen one this up close before.” Carlos chuckled. “But yeah, you don’t have a baby every day, it’s always worth celebrating.” He then shrugged, adding on to Amelie’s own opinion.
Motivated by the girls own action, he was already ready to reach out and caress the egg a bit…until it started moving. The man’s heart skipped a bit for a moment
“Oh shit.” The man exclaimed, eyes widening as his expression went from surprise to excitement. With a quick and exaggerated movement of his hand he motioned the imp to get closer. “Dio! Come quick!” This was enough to snap the imp from his small breakdown, at least momentarily, as he rapidly approached to group, looking down at the now glowing egg with curiosity like the rest of them.
Could it be the moment they were all waiting for? And if so, what would come out from the egg?

For this time, it was nice to see that Carlos' was backing Amelie up! Something as important as the birth of a child was certainly something that should be celebrated. On one side, she knew that K wasn't the type to be in the same place for too long, but making some spare time in her duties wouldn't be too hard, would it? The brunette would like to think the Renamon's agenda wasn't that busy, but one never knew.
But those weren't the happiest of thoughts, were they? Transmitting them to the egg cradled within her arms was something that Amy definitely didn't want to do! So, instead, she just held it lovingly, stroking its surface ever so slightly, almost as if she were afraid to break it.
Her grasp was first, yet the teenager let out a tiny gasp as soon as the egg began to shake; taking the Doctor's lead, she began to lead the egg down slowly, all the while a joyful smile began to make its way towards her face. "It's happening..." Those words were dissonant with the situation, almost betraying confusion to an event that was a bit... obvious.
What would come out of it? That was the question that Amelie's head was asking itself. Would be a cat, a fox, a catfox or... something else? Time to find out, she guessed.

In that moment, everything else seemed to fall to the wayside: the prior conversation, Dio's jealousy, the thoughts about the party, and even the idle chatter all faded away. Carefully, Mikemon moved close to the egg. Once it was settled back down in that towel, he motioned the others back just a bit, to give this egg room to breath.
It shook, the shell cracked, and a thin veil of light surrounded the egg - one that began to grow, even as the egg continued to shake. Eventually, the shell 'shattered' all at once, but Mikemon's awestruck expression would prove that nothing had gone wrong: the very shell itself was pulled right back into the center, a smaller glowing shape in its place. As the light would fade, the new life that it brought could be seen: A YukimiBotamon - a cat! "Aw!" Smiling, hearing his child's first cry into the world, the Mikemon carefully plucked the slime up, cradling and holding the child close. His eyes briefly scanned over the newborn's data, before gently shaking his arms: "Shh... its alright, Syre. Daddy's here." Despite those words, he kept a smile, a happy tone, even a tear perking from his eye - oh, it was just so perfect!
"A-Amy, a chair. Something." The cat was so taken in that he couldn't even remember that there was a seat just a few feet away - but soon enough, he'd be sitting, just taking a moment to take this all in. Heck, he didn't even know what to say!

Unsurprisingly, it seemed hard for Carlos to maintain his composure in the face of such a momentous occasion. He was an only son, and didn't personally know anyone that had had a baby before, and he most certainly had never seen the birth of one. Much less the hatching of a digital one, so to say he was both overjoyed and maybe a bit nervous at the incoming hatching would be a massive understatement.
Even Dio had to put his conflicted feelings aside once he saw the egg starting to shine and crack open. Not even he was petty enough to let that ruin the moment. The light from the egg soon faded, revealing the digimon that came from within it...
...and there she was. A small, white as snow creature. Black beady eyes, small cat like ears, tiny enough so even the relatively short Doctor was able to hold her between his arms without problem.
Words failed the duo, both of them with moved and awed expressions. If there was just one word they could have used to describe what they were witnessing, it would probably be "adorable".
"She's just so..."
"Small..." Even the Dark Lord found it hard to look stoic and calm in front of the baby, a big dumb smile forming on his face, his eyes even watering ever so slightly for a moment, though he was quick to wipe that away with one hand. He had to keep his dignity intact today somehow.
Still, they were both practically speechless, unable to really say anything or do anything other than look, though Dio couldn't help but reach out for the nearest chair for the Doctor to sit on, though he still stood completely silent.
Because really...what was there even to say? Simply giving another "congratulations" seemed too little, too impersonal, there were really no words that could do justice to just how happy this made both of them feel. Maybe it was better to just let Mikemon have this short moment with his child in peace.
