Fights in this form were always so SIMPLE for Coolmon. If you miss with the punch? Scream like you're a latino banshee wailing for her lost love! It always just WORKED. As Birdie plummeted to the ground, Coolmon didn't let up. The Pucchiemon proceeded towards her and threw another punch, this one just as hard as the last. "THIS ONE'S FOR MY HOME!" She yelled, tears starting to stream down her face.
It was rather unfortunate for Birdie that not only was there no Astamon to prevent this, this time? But Coolmon's shriek had undoubtedly roused the attention of people within Old Terminus. There were likely eyes on them now.
How embarrassing.

Just as Birdie's eyes narrowed and she thought the ringing was beginning to let up in her ears, there was a large, sobbing rabbit on top of her. Coolmon hadn't wasted a single moment following up her previous attack with a forceful punch to the face. Birdie screamed as she felt her face snap to the side before promptly shifting her hands from her ears to her face, protecting her head the best way she could in this given moment. She just needed a minute to gather herself, then she'd be able to react properly... just a little while for the ringing to stop and for her head to clear. It wasn't fair, being attacked like this and made vulnerable in the streets of a dangerous city, but she couldn't do anything about it. Not right now, at least. As soon as Birdie was able to think clearly again, Coolmon would certainly pay the price.

One strike wasn't enough. No. One strike was far from enough when it came to the bird. Coolmon balled up her other fist and threw -another- strike aimed at the bird. She didn't really care where she hit. She just cared that she -hit- is all.
"And THIS ONE'S FOR SHITTALKING RINJI!" The rabbit-turned-fairy sounded nothing short of hysterical. You'd think that a mon that went by Coolmon would take a moment to realize this was exactly what she might consider uncool. Trying to beat the snot out of a bird that probably couldn't even go above Rookie right now.
Yet, people tend to do things they're not known for when angry, right...?

Another blow to the face and another burning hot sting reminded Birdie that she was weak. Coolmon was right, she was small and pathetic. The Digimon that Birdie herself had dubbed weak and helpless had managed to floor her in a matter of seconds and was now clobbering her, all the while crying and screaming. What she was witnessing was a raw sort of emotion, a temper tantrum not much different than the one she had experienced only an hour or so prior to this regretful encounter. And though the energy and temper were very much the same, there was something glaringly different in the way Coolmon attacked Birdie versus the way Birdie had destroyed her own belongings: Coolmon wasn't just angry, she was upset.
Whether or not the Biyomon understood where Coolmon's rage and grief stemmed from was irrelevant, as it didn't change the drive behind the rabbit's attacks. As another fist was drawn back, preparing to strike, Birdie retracted the wings from her face and began to trill a playful and coy melody. Because she was still not completely over the effects of Coolmon's Hypersonic Wave, the only thing she could really do was use her Charming Tweet attack (1 post duration, 3 post cooldown) in an attempt to immobilize Coolmon long enough to flee. She kept whistling, hoping the cheery tune would stun the rampaging rabbit before being hit again.

It was unclear when Coolmon was going to stop with this almost senseless clobbering. Or if she could, really. Yet, Birdie choose the correct option, even if it was, admittedly, the only option available to her. The melody that the Biyomon whistled reached the ears of the fairy, and she paused, her fist mid-swing.
...What was she doing here? The tears kept streaming down her face without no sign of an end. But, if there was any time for Birdie to flee?
The time was now, especially while her tune had slowed Coolmon down to a halt. It wasn't going to last. But those precious few seconds could make or break the rest of this unfortunate encounter....

Coolmon froze then, a few stray teardrops streaking down her cheeks and landing on Birdie's feathers as she did. Honestly, Birdie hadn't really expected her song to work so efficiently. She was just a rookie and her attack was at a lower level than Pucchiemon was currently at. A rookie-ranked attack against a champion? There was always the possibility of it not working as intended. The fact that it did gave Birdie the opportunity to escape. Only a fool would've decided to stay after being pummeled into the dirt, but for a split second, Birdie considered it. The idea of taking the opening to make Coolmon pay while she couldn't do anything about it was admittedly a tempting one, but it was quickly dismissed in favor of survival.
With a groan, Birdie crawled away from her assailant and began jogging down the street, flapping her wings all the while in an attempt to catch some air. Her muscles ached, but she fought through it and eventually managed to gain some altitude. At first, she made a beeline directly for her apartment window but instantly remembered Coolmon's screaming attack, the one that had grounded her a few minutes prior. Although she couldn't tell whether or not Coolmon had been able to shake off the stun effect so quickly, and she wasn't about to look back to see, she worked off the assumption that Coolmon had snapped out of her trance and was now trying to figure out a way to stop Birdie from reaching her home.
Whether or not there was any merit to this thinking didn't seem to matter to Birdie. She began flying in a zigzagged pattern, swooping sharply to the left, swiveling, then zipping over to the right before repeating again. With this strategy, Birdie hoped to avoid being struck with any long-ranged attacks or another Hypersonic Wave. She just had a little more distance to cover, just a little ways to go, then she'd be home! Safe and sound. Away from danger.
Of course, there were a number of ways things could've gone wrong. For one, Coolmon could've found a way to floor her before she was able to enter the apartment. That was the worst scenario possible. Alternatively, if Birdie did manage to get home, there was no guarantee that it was safe, especially if Coolmon had a way of flying or jumping that high. Then again, even if the Pucchiemon didn't then there was the possibility of her staying outside the apartment and waiting for Birdie to come out again. Birdie shook these fears from her mind and focused on getting through that window, she didn't need such concerns to slow her down.

Birdie's decision to flee was undoubtedly a correct one, because Coolmon swiftly snapped out of her trance, and noticed the fleeing, zig-zagging bird. She didn't have much in the way of ranged moves, but she did have a trusty old friend she liked to call...Picking a rock up and hurling it at the fleeing bird. It'd likely sail by her, but it'd be a pretty scary thing to have flying at you when you're running from someone.
...Wait, she couldn't let her go just yet! She needed her damn phone back! In what was probably the only time anyone would ever see Pucchiemon use her wings? Coolmon took off after Birdie. "YOU FORGOT SOMETHING! MY PHONE IN MY HANDS, YOU -TWIT!-" Yep. She was definitely going to chase her through that window.

Whizz! A rock flew through the air passed Birdie, narrowly missing her but startling her nevertheless. The rock was enough proof that Coolmon had snapped out of her daze and had gotten back on her feet. The threat of flying rocks and other projectiles knocking her down from the sky, paired with a furious Pucchiemon screaming behind her, caused the Biyomon to beat her wings faster as she accelerated through the sky. In a matter of seconds, Birdie sailed directly through the broken window and came crashing into the rumble on the far side of the apartment. Even then, she never stopped flapping her wings, managing to stay a few inches off the ground as she frantically glanced about the room. Upon spotting the phone, Birdie snagged it in her talons and rushed back to the window, hoping she'd be able to get out before her assailant figured out how to scale the side of the building. Birdie hadn't even managed to make it back outside before she saw Coolmon fast approaching, red in the face and a pair of fairy-esque wings aiding in her ascent.

Fury guided this fay-like creature in her flight, and fury was all that she could actually see. There was nothing really impeding Pucchiemon from flying after Birdie, who had disappeared into her apartment. Did she honestly think that would save her from the business end of Coolmon's fist? Because it definitely wasn't doing her any favors. The fairy would clench her fist as she approached, and her intent was pretty clear. She was poised to strike right at the heart of the matter by flying through the window and tackling Birdie.
Was she gonna try throwing her around her own apartment afterwards? Yeah, definitely. After all, why not make her taste her own medicine?

It was nothing Birdie hadn't experienced before. A tackle, a punch, being tossed around like a ragdoll. Then again, Coolmon's relentlessness did come as a mild surprise; after all, if Birdie was about to return the phone then why was she continuing with her barrage of attacks? What did she stand to gain by assaulting someone who was in the process of righting past wrongs? Was it vengeance? Vigilant justice? Or perhaps Coolmon was unleashing her inner malevolence. Such violence changed a person, and Coolmon's hostility was bound to change her, one way or another. No one could come back completely after showing such viciousness. That type of anger proved to be a virus more often than not.
Something about the fact that Birdie had corrupted Coolmon's moral compass caused the Biyomon to start laughing. At first, it came out as nothing more than a strained wheeze when the rabbit slammed her against the wall. As she fell back to the floor of her apartment, Birdie's gasps for breath turned into unsteady chuckles which only raised in volume as Coolmon picked her up and threw her into the collapsed rubble at the back of the apartment.
All the while, the phone remained in Birdie's grip, her talons digging into the machine with greater intensity the more injuries she sustained. As Birdie impacted with the debris, she felt her back collide with the sharp edge of a rock and her muscles contracted in response. There was a gentle pop followed by a nearly silent crrk which emanated from the cellphone. The machine itself was not broken, but the screen had received a decent sized crack near its top right corner. If someone turned the phone on, they would've instantly noticed that everything in that corner would've appeared as nothing more than a black void. It wasn't beyond repair, but if Birdie clenched any more then there was no telling what type of additional damage would've been inflicted on the phone.

There was something to note here. Coolmon didn't know that Birdie was actually returning the phone. She was just literally that pissed off. Plus, there was something else here. Coolmon was actually enjoying this and she had no idea why. This was awful. This was actually really awful for her to be doing.
Literally as uncool as it gets. Luckily, however, Birdie's clenching of the phone causing damage to it made a noise that the Pucchiemon caught. A noise that made her stop dead in her tracks. How she managed to catch that amidst all the other noise she was responsible for? That was anyone's guess.
"G-Give it back." She managed, after a period of silence. "Give it b-back right now."

Of course Coolmon didn't know what Birdie's intentions were. Birdie was a loose cannon. The betrayal, the hostility, and now her hysterical laughter at being attacked? And all without a single word about having the desire to return what she had stolen. Coolmon's behavior and aggression was completely justified, even if it was a bit over the top. Violence and hatred was the only language Birdie could seem to understand, so one had to stoop to such levels to teach her a lesson. And even Birdie seemed a bit confused by what she truly wanted. Cower in fear and flee from her attacker, or laugh in their face and quietly encourage such violence? Such a paradox was what made Birdie unfavorable company to many Digimon. Her words, actions, and morals never seemed to match up quite right. It was as though she strove to confuse and frustrate others.
Both Coolmon's relentless attacks and Birdie's laughter ceased when the phone began to break. The sound hadn't originally caught the Biyomon's attention, but when her assailant eased up, a look of shock and horror on her face, Birdie took notice of her vice-like grip on the small device. Slowly, she uncurled her talons, letting the phone clatter to the ground, a few small chips of plastic and glass popping free from the edges as it did. Aside from the scuffing and the horribly obvious crack in the corner, the phone was still intact -- nevermind the missing apps and pictures which made the phone truly valuable to Coolmon. "There, take your stupid phone back. Now would you get outta my house?" Birdie sneered, pushing her luck further with the emotionally unstable Pucchiemon.

The enigma that was the Biyomon could definitely be studied further at a time when Coolmon was less on an emotional high of ANGER. This might have turned out even worse had Birdie not let go of the phone. Then and only then did Coolmon actually stop assaulting the poor bird. She quickly lunged for the phone, trying to snatch it up and look it over for any damage while Birdie sneered at her.
Well, it was cracked. And damaged.
And this Biyomon was just demanding her to leave? Oh, she would leave alright, but not before leaving her with a parting gift of a knuckle sandwich. Coolmon went to attempt landing a punch square in Birdie's face before she turned tail and ran out the way she came, the window. As in she literally just jumped out of there.
Was that it?

Birdie did deserve Coolmon's parting gift of a final punch to the face, but she was ready for it. Although her muscles and bones ached from the violent encounter, she was still alert and managed to daftly swoop out of the way from Pucchiemon's in-coming fist. Her assailant didn't seem interested in trying again, for the fairy Digimon dashed over to the window and leapt out, gliding away as she did. And that was that. Birdie hopped over to the window, careful not to step on the splintered wood chips that laid scattered across the floorboards, and she watched as Coolmon fled from the scene, the cracked phone in her hands. Birdie spit after her, the wad of saliva never coming close to its mark and instead falling to the ground with a wet splat. "Good riddance," Birdie scoffed as she turned around and got to work cleaning her apartment.
