CHAPTER 2: THE ZOID GEMS
Episode 1: The Secret of Rococo Village -Snow is so pretty... -Jazz had a nostalgic expression as she looked at the snow by the Trailmon window. Katherine could remember those snowy days around Madrid when she was little, she used to go out to a local coffee shop with her mom and then to the park where she could play in the snow, creating every time she could the same character: Mr. Alejandro, a very fat snowman with a pointy pencil for a noose. As the nostalgia brought by the memories of those happy days started getting to her, she quickly brought herself back to reality. The scenario was set: She needed to reunite the 5 Zoid Gems, ancient pieces of jewelry the Ancient Sage (as he's known around some digimon) lost one hundred years ago. By reuniting these and taking them to the Drum Sanctuary, she could speak with him, who was the only one she knew of who could possibly know why was she brought to the Digital World. Now, she was on the cruise to reunite the 5 gems, along with her newfound digimon partner: Jazz, the ex-bandit Lopmon, former leader of Jazz Bandits. Following the only lead they had, they were heading to the Northern Prominence, where the Ocher Zoid Gem could be found, according to a very old legend. Katherine took the map that was below her seat, and shared it with Jazz, who was just in the seat next to her, by the window. There, the northern prominence could be seen, and even though it wasn't that detailed, the words 'Terabyte Mountain' could be read over the giant mountain that rose over the area.
-So we are heading here, right? -The brunette said pointing at the mountain figure. -If you ask me, this seems like a pretty big mountain, Jazz. We aren't even sure the Zoid Gem is actually there, and climbing such a gigantic mountain doesn't seem easy at all. -It won't be an easy task. Luckily for us, we have this. -Jazz pointed with her hand to a zone where 'Ski lift central' could be read. -We can go up using that. -A smile was drawn on Katherine's face. -That's great! Then finding this gem will be piece of cake! -I don't think so, no. If it were so easy to find, it wouldn't be a legendary ancient jewel. -Jazz frowned -The legend doesn't state that the Gem is at the top of the mountain, so it's more likely than not that when we get there, we'll have to start going down. I guess you're right -Katherine sighed and laid back at the seat. -Have you ever been in the North Prominence? -She asked. -I had. when I was a baby I went a long way around the Digital World, and I remember being fascinated by the snow. -It is fascinating... -The girl said, leaning to her right to look by the window as the snow kept falling slowly.
Not too long after, the Trailmon stopped at an old station. Knowing the train would go back to the southern areas, the girl and the bunny got off there. Only two other digimon got off at that station, which made both think that this was not a very visited place.
They both looked at each other for a second, and exclaimed at the same time, almost as it was prepared:
"IT'S COLD!"
Katherine still had her clothes from the dessert, that she got at Jazz's hideout. This was only a blue jacket and a very short top, so it was only logical the change of weather was now taking it's toll on her.
-We better get moving. I'm definitely not used to this weather. -Jazz said, as she started walking in front of her partner. -Yes! Let's get moving now. -Katherine lifted the Lopmon from the ground, griped her like a plushie and began walking forward. Jazz blushed. She opened her mouth to protest, but decided to remain quiet. Katherine's arms were definitely warmer than the ground.
The pair got to the foot of Terabyte Mountain sooner than they expected. -We should look for the Ski Lift central now, and try to go up. This shouldn't be trouble if we follow this road around the mountain. -Jazz was wrong. Terabyte Mountain was bigger than they expected, and after walking for four whole hours, the hunger and the cold was starting to dent the pair's enthusiasm, as the night was falling and the temperature was dropping. Luckily for the pair, the snow kept falling slowly enough. Katherine didn't even want to think about their chances under a snowstorm.
Just as the cave they passed by a couple minutes ago began to look like a good place to camp, Jazz jumped on top of Katherine's head, pointing forward. -Look! there's a village right there! -Could cold create mirages? A village was probably the best thing that could realistically happen to them at the moment. As they went closer, a smile drew on their faces, it was actually a small village, with wooden houses that could be seen from there. Entering the place, a sign could be read: 'Rococo Village'.
-This town looks very empty. -Katherine said, walking around the main road, passing by a set of wooden houses that were different to tell apart. -Well it is late, and it's very cold outside. This town is definitely not abandoned. I can see lights on in the houses we're passing by... or at least some of them. There were actually many houses that seemed completely abandoned, like someone had not lived there in months. A three floor wooden house caught their attention. It had a pretty well decorated and illuminated front, even with some plants by the entrance and a sign next to a small set of stairs that led to the door where the words 'Cocoa Inn' could be read. Her faces lighten up at this sight, and they went up the stairs and inside the inn.
C o c o a I n n
Lopmon started shaking her body softly, somehow asking to be placed back on the ground, so Katherine lowered her and let her free. The place was beautiful, it wasn't nearly as cold as outside, but seemed rather empty. It had wooden tables and seats built-in the walls. The seats had cushions that seemed pretty comfortable and there was a big candle on top of every table, to keep the users warm enough. At the end of this ground floor, there was a square bar, with seats around it and some more candles on top of it. A digimon seemed to be tending the bar, preparing drinks and cocktails.
The duo approached the bar. Katherine took a seat and the Lopmon hopped onto another one, without really paying attention to who was sitting around the bar. The seats seemed to fit human dimensions, Katherine assumed it was because since digimon had such different sizes, it was better to have a regular-size dimension that could fit everyone's needs. The digimon attending the bar noticed them and turned.
-Welcome to Cocoa Inn. My name is Sorcerimon, how can I help you? -He had a very human-like voice, like a young adult. He had a big white hat and a white cloak, wearing old brown boots and some white and light blue clothes. His cloak was tied around his neck with a skull brooch, covering his mouth completely, but Katherine could hear him perfectly fine.
-H-Hi there! Do you happen to have something to eat? We're starving. -Even though she was the human, Katherine usually did the talking when approaching other digimon, Jazz wasn't very good treating with people. -Of course. Let me serve you a couple of our best red-meat-chocolate burger. Would you like that? -If the food was as the name suggested, this would be a meat burger with chocolate. Maybe the food in the Digital World was even stranger than she expected, and that bar back at Rustport was an exception to the rule. The brunette tried to act like this was perfectly normal. -S-Sure! Meat chocolate burger, of course! -She said smiling. -What the hell is wrong with you? -Jazz broke the girl's act. -You put chocolate in a meat burger? -She said turning to Sorcerimon. -Haha! Just ignore her, she's just raving by the cold. -Katherine said covering Jazz's mouth quickly and laughing nervously. If something she had learnt from traveling so much, is that you can't go into a foreign place and start insulting their manners. Jazz kept trying to talk, but her voice was intelligible as her mouth was covered by Katherine's hand, so she started waving her arms in an effusive way. -Ouch! -Katherine removed her hand from Jazz's mouth, as she had bitten her. The girl and the bunny turned at the bartender, who just started laughing out loud. The duo followed his laugh. In the end, it was a pretty funny situation after all. -You gals are hilarious! -He said still chuckling -Putting chocolate on any kind of food is a local tradition in Rococo Village. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll like it. I'll bring your burgers right away.
As the food arrived, Jazz and Katherine looked at each other after taking the first bite. It wasn't just because they hadn't eat for around 6 hours, the dish was actually pretty tasty. A new adventure, a new friend, and some new experiences. The adventure at Rococo Village had just begun.

-Sir, this is very good! -Katherine said, before taking another bite of her hamburger. Jazz also seemed to be enjoying it a lot. -I knew you'd like it! -The bartender let go a chuckle. -But please don't be so formal, call me Sorcerimon. -Hey, Sorcerimon -Jazz started after swallowing. -This is an original recipe, right? -The bunny asked. -As I said, it's a local tradition. -The wizard answered while cleaning some cups with a cloth. -Everyone here love chocolate in all of their food -He continued -At least the ones that are left, do. -Huh? 'The ones that are left'? -Katherine asked -Yes. I'm sure you noticed there's a bunch of abandoned houses around town. All of them belonged to local digimon that have left this town-Sorcerimon replied in a dark, sad tone. -Why are they leaving? -It's about the weather -He sighed, answering the Lopmon's question. -This town has not gotten a single ray of sun since 6 months ago. -Sorcerimon continued, as pouring some of what seemed to be hot coffee in a couple of mugs for the digimon and the girl. -6 months ago? -The duo asked at the same time -Yes. Even though this town has always been a cold weather area, we usually got some sun every now and then. This is very important, specially for the kind of digimon that need it to live. -No kidding. 6 months without sunlight must be devastating for any kind of body. -The girl added, taking a sip of her coffee only to find out it also had chocolate, and tasted very good. -So you only get cloudy days here? -Jazz asked. -Sometimes rainy, sometimes snowy, but never sunny. -Sorcerimon answered -Nobody knows why did the sun stop showing up, but this had made some of the digimon that need the sun to live, leave the village. -The digimon widened his eyes, realizing something. -Oh, but... why are you two here, anyways? It's not very usual we get visitors on this town lately. -He asked with a confused look. The duo looked at each other, looking for a simple but informative answer. -We're explorers! Looking for an ancient gem that's said to be found on Terabyte Mountain. -Katherine replied, with what seemed to be the best kind of answer at this point. -Do you happen to have heard any of that? -Jazz asked expectantly. The wizard thought for a minute. -No, definitely not. But I'm not the wisest digimon around, you should go ask our leader, he may know something. -Leader? -Yes. There's a small wooden palace almost at the end of town. You'll see it if you keep walking through the road that brought you here. -Sorcerimon pointed. -There, you'll find Gotsumon, he's our leader. -Do you think he may help us? -Jazz asked. -Sure! Gotsumon is very nice to all of us. He became this town leader after arriving 5 months ago. -How did he became the leader so quickly? -Jazz frowned. -Oh. Icemon appeared when we most needed him. He and his crew have some sort of energy beam that shoots sun rays, he had helped lot of the digimon that need the sun rays with it. -Sorcerimon explained. -Woaoh, that sounds pretty cool. How does it work? -Katherine asked, with an excited look on her face. -I'm not sure. I'm not a sun needing digimon so I've never tried it. But I know all you got to do is go to his palace, pay a commission and he'll give you some sun rays. -The wizard explained, with a happy expression. Kath and Jazz looked at each other, and just remained silent. -But anyways! -Sorcerimon said, breaking the cold silence -You cannot go talk to him this late and with such weather, so what do you say if I get you gals a room? -He added the suggestion to his sentence. -That would be great, Sorcerimon. How much for the food and the room? -Katherine asked, pulling her digivice out, where she stored the money. -I really like you two, gals, so the burger and coffee it's on the house. It will be 25 bits for the room for the night. -Thank you very much! -The duo said at the same time. They couldn't be more grateful, since the only money they had was the one the got from those little jobs at Rustport, and it wasn't much.
As the girl and the bunny got to their room in the third floor, accompanied by Sorcerimon, Katherine took off her boots and laid barefoot on the lower bed of the bunk bed. The room was a small but comfy piece, with a warm feeling inside of it, nothing alike the tenacious cold outside.
-I'll check on you gals on the morning okay? Have a good night. -Sorcerimon said closing the door behind him. -Thank you very much, Sorcerimon! -The duo said, almost with one voice.
The room was only lit by a small lamp hanging from the ceiling, and the moonlight entered by the window. This adventure was truly fascinating for Katherine. Sleeping in such a different place, meeting so many different kinds of digimon. Even when she did miss home a little and was worried about her parents buying that false letter Talia helped her write, she wouldn't change this adventure for nothing.
As Lopmon started climbing the bunk bed using the ladders, to sleep in the upper bed, she asked: -You also think there's something weird going on on this town, huh? -Yes. Something is not fitting, something is definitely odd -The girl replied, lifting to sitting position on the bed, grabbing her feet with both hands. -Tomorrow we'll go talk to this leader, and look for some answers.

Katherine stretched as she looked at herself in the mirror, trying the new clothes Sorcerimon had gotten for her from an old set of different clothes he had on a shelf. -Apparently these clothes were made by some digimon for the humans that used to come here as tourists before. The tailors left them here when they left the village. -Jazz stated, looking at Katherine through her reflection in the mirror. The girl was wearing black, tight leather pants, brown boots and a dark blue jacket, zipped up to her neck. She also had red skiing lenses up in her head. -That makes sense. -The brunette said combing her hair with her fingers, still a little wet from the shower she had that morning. -Still, he's very nice for letting us have it. -Jazz was wearing pink gloves and a pink scarf around her neck. -You look very cute, Mrs Jazz! -Katherine added giggling. -S-Shut up! What are you saying!? -The Lopmon looked away, with a angry expression on her face, but with a red tone around her cheeks. -Are you... blushing!? -Katherine asked, giggling louder. -What!? I'm not... -Jazz cheeks got even more red. -Let's go to the palace now! -Sure, sure. -Katherine followed the bunny, still chuckling.
The duo arrived to a gigantic wooden mansion. It seemed to have at least three floors, it definitely was bigger than Sorcerimon's inn, because it was about the same height but much wider. It also seemed to have a huge garden, with different types of trees and flowers. This all could be seen from outside a big gate just in front of them. Next to the gate, a couple of Knightmon (as Jazz identified them) were guarding the entrance, one at each side. They were high digimon wearing what seemed to be some kind of medieval armor, and holding a big, golden sword. The girl and the bunny got closer to the pair.
-Hi... Ehmm -Katherine tried to look for the right words. -Welcome to Lord Gotsumon palace. You may go in, if you want to talk to Lord Gotsumon, the leader of Rococo Village. -One of the Knightmon stated, with a very serious expression. -Yes! Thank you! We would love to see G- No, Lord Gotsumon. -Katherine smile kindly at the guards.
The duo entered the palace's garden, going through the gate, as one of the Knightmon guided them to the front door, where two other Knightmon waited, opening the door for them. The palace had some weird painting hanging on the walls, very good electrical lighting and purple rugs and drapes. Even though they were only going through the floors and up the stairs, it did seemed to be huge and have a large amount of rooms. -What's all of this? -Katherine bumped Jazz's head with her foot. The bunny ignored it. -What's with all the guards and the giant palace? -Jazz continued, receiving another bump on the head from Katherine. -'Lord Gotsumon', this guy is so full of himself...-Katherine kicked the Lopmon making her fall to the ground. -WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT!? -You need to learn to shut up! We need to get to the bottom of this and these people will hate us if we don't behave. -Katherine crouched down and whispered, squishing Jazz's head with both hands. -I hate... politics. -Jazz had definitely learned some words from Katherine. Knightmon, who seemed to have ignored the whole conversation, stopped in front of a big door, found just upon arriving the third floor and that seemed to occupy the entire space of that stage. -Please, go through this door and you'll find Lord Gotsumon. -The Knightmon stopped and remained standing next to the door, as they went in, thanking the guard.
The room was in fact big enough to occupy the whole third floor. It had a red rug that went from the main door to a wooden throne with gold decoration and red cushions. A small, rock digimon was sitting comfortably on it, smiling at then.
-Hi there! My name is Gotsumon, I'm the leader of Rococo Village. How are you? How can I help you?

-Oh, but if it's a human! I haven't seen one in a while. -Gotsumon looked at the girl, getting off his throne and walking towards the girl and the bunny. -It's a pleasure to meet you two. -The rock said, extending his hand to Katherine.-Y-Yes! Nice to meet you too, Lord Gotsumon. -Katherine said shaking his hand, it was cold and hard, but it was still shaped like a regular human hand, sort of. -Heya. -Jazz said, without shaking his hand, still analyzing him with a cold look. -It's marvelous to see other-world adventurers around our village-The rock digimon kept looking at Katherine, somewhat fascinated at her sight. He had a red cape and a yellow crown, made from what Katherine could only assume was gold. -I'm glad you could receive us on such a short notice -Katherine said, being euphemistic, since they actually gave him no notice. -Oh, That's okay, I'm always up for hearing what the people in Rococo need. -Gotsumon took a seat back on his throne. -But please, tell me how can I help you. -He continued. -Alraumon, if you could get something to drink for our guests. A green digimon with an odd plant shape, who was standing next to the throne replied with a soft, feminine voice. -Y-Yes! Lord Gotsumon! -The creature rushed to a table that was at the eastern part of the room, apparently serving drinks for the duo. -We're explorers, Lord Gotsumon, and we're looking for an ancient gem that, according to an old legend, is hidden in Terabyte Mountain. -Katherine explained, being a little afraid the leader wouldn't believe in her words. -Oh! Of course, I've heard of such legend. -Gotsumon replied. -You have? -Jazz asked. -Here are some drinks for our guests, Lord Gotsumon. -The plant digimon, who was wearing some sort of white apron, got closer to the duo, holding a tray with different colored drinks. Katherine leaned her body down, to take a light blue drink, without asking what it was, since she probably wouldn't understand. Jazz took a glass that looked like strawberry juice, with both hands. -Thank you very much -Katherine said smiling to the plant, who smiled back and retired back to her original place next to the throne, after leaving the tray over the table. -Yes! I did hear of that not long after getting here. Let me see... -Gotsumon walked back to an old chest lying at the end of the room -Where did I put that old quill? -He asked, opening the old casket and moving some stuff inside. -I don't like this guy... -Jazz mumbled looking somewhere else.-Shut it! -Katherine said, also in a low register. -Oh! Here it is! -The leader pulled an old piece of paper rolled and tied with a red knot. -You may have this. -He handed the quill to the girl. -Thank you so much! -The girl untied the knot and with a slight hand movement, rolled the quill open. The paper was written in some sort of ancient writing that had weird squared symbology.
-What is... this? I've never seen such language. -The girl tilted her head, trying to decipher the writing in her head. Katherine had been in lots of countries, and had read about different types of cultures and languages, but this didn't seem, at all, as something she had read of before. -Uh? Let me see, Kath. I want to see! -Jazz kept jumping trying to see the content of the quill.
Katherine lowered the quill, for Jazz to see, crouching down. Jazz tilted her head, after taking a look at it. -I don't get it, Kath. -She said, turning at her. -I know, right? It doesn't seem like anything I've... -No. -The bunny interrupted. -I can read this perfectly. -Yes, it's perfectly well written. -Gotsumon said. -What don't you understand?
Katherine took a look at the quill again. Her eyes widened. Even though she didn't recognize the symbology, she could understand perfectly what was written on that quill. -What the...? -Katherine turned at Jazz. How was she able to read a language she had never seen before? -This is impossible, why am I able to read this!? -Well, we're talking the language that's written in that quill right now, so I can't understand why wouldn't you be able to read it, if you speak it perfectly. -Gotsumon explained. -What are you talking about? We're speaking Japanese, aren't we? -The girl showed the quill back to Jazz. -Jazz! This isn't Japanese, or English or any language I know of! -Jazz looked at the girl, very confused.-Japa...nese? What is that? -Once again, an scenario that repeated itself a lot since Katherine arrived to the Digital World: Katherine had no clue of what was going on. She dropped her glass from the shock. The maid-plant digimon rushed to clean it. -Jazz... what am I speaking right now? -The girl asked. She was finally tying loose ends on her head. -What do you mean? We're speaking digimon language, of course.
As Jazz replied, it all clicked on Katherine's head. The reason why every digimon seemed to speak perfect Japanese, why she could understand them and they could understand her. The digimon were never speaking any language she knew of, she was speaking their language, which her brain associated as Japanese for being her most used language. Flashbacks of that sign she read at Gururu Cave came to her head, at that time, because of the hurry and such, she didn't really pay attention, but she remembered, those exact same symbols were written on that sign. She had been speaking and reading digimon language since she arrived. Was now her body a digital entity? had she merged with this world, even to the point her knowledge was being altered? Her train of thought was interrupted for a Knightmon entering the room. -Lord Gotsumon! The digimon that need treatment are here, they request to go to the sunny room. -Oh! That's right, it is time. -Gotsumon said. -Did they bring the money? -He asked Knightmon. -Y-Yes! They did, sir. Some of them... -Oh, well... -Gotsumon glanced at Jazz and Katherine, and then looked back at Knightmon -We'll talk about that in a minute. -The rock turned back at the duo -I'm sorry, I've got some business to attend just now, my friends. Currently, I can't send anyone with you to Terabyte Mountain to look for that gem. All the soldiers we have, are currently guarding our town, as our digimon are not feeling very good due to the lack of sun. -He explained -Oh... Lord Gotsumon... do you think the Knightmons could get a little sun later? We really need it, some of us are feeling sick... -The Knightmon guard ask. He seemed to be somewhat afraid of Gotsumon. -Do not dare to interrupt me again, Knightmon. You won't be getting any sun for a while now, and the rest of your mates will pay for your insolence too! -Gotsumon said, with a rather angry expression on his face. Katherine and Jazz looked at each other, they could almost read each other thoughts. This guy wasn't a good digimon. Katherine turned back at the plant digimon, as she picked up the mess caused by the broken glass. She apologize to her on low voice, and could notice she was scared of Gotsumon, too.-But please... -Gotsumon continued talking to the duo, changing his expression back to his goofy smile he had hold since they got in the room. If you have any other question after reading the quill, you may come. I don't know if I can help you, though, since it was already here when I arrived.
The duo left the palace, thanking Gotsumon for his help, trying to be as polite as they could.
Sitting around the bar at Cocoa Inn, the duo spoke to Sorcerimon that night. -I bet it was a shock for you realizing you were speaking digimon, Mrs Katherine -Sorcerimon said, serving some more hot chocolate for the duo. - Even though, I should have known it was unusual they speak digimon language back in your world, I should have realize you didn't know you were speaking our language. -Jazz added, playing with her ears as she zipped a little hot chocolate from her mug. -That's okay now, it was a big shock, but I think I understand everything now. I'm just afraid of how much this world can change me without me noticing... -The girl sighed, looking at the quill she was holding in her right hand.
-Hi there, Sorcerimon -Three digimon, that looked exactly like a penguin with odd marks around their belly, took a seat at the bar. -Oh! Hi there, Penmons! How are you today? -The sorcerer digimon started preparing some hamburgers for the hungry looking trio. -Not too good, Sorcerimon. .The middle one said, with a sad look on his face. -We went asking for sun rays at Gotsumon palace, but we didn't have enough money so they sent us home. -I'm very sorry to hear that, guys. -Sorcerimon replied. -Huh? He kicked you out just because you didn't have the money? -Jazz asked, with an angry expression on her face. -O-Oh.. Yes. But I get it, though, I bet he needs maintenance for that machine he's using to work. -One of the Penmon explained. -Machine? -Katherine asked, as she took another zip of her chocolate. -I-I'm not actually sure what it is. I just heard you get in a room and you can feel the sun rays hitting you, it must be very refreshing! -The penguin digimon seemed fairly okay having been kicked out of the palace. -How can he kick you out just because you didn't have the money? Isn't he supposed to take care of the people in the village? -Jazz asked, not in a friendly tone. -Jazz... cut it. -Katherine said, in a dark tone, trying not to look at the penguins. -I'm sure Lord Gotsumon is doing his best to help us all. He's just charging us because... Ummm... -The digimon seemed to have trouble explaining the leader's actions. -Are you kidding me!? You cannot even find a good reason! And what kind of sun ray power is this!? If he has this sort of power he should be taking care of all of you! Whether you've got money or not! THAT'S WHAT A TRUE LEADER DOES! -Jazz yelled the last part, standing from her seat. The very few clients around the ground floor of Cocoa Inn, turned at the bar. -Mrs Jazz... -Sorcerimon tried to say something, but didn't seem to find the right words. -If you people don't want to see that something odd is happening here... -Jazz got off her seat, and started walking, heading to the stairs. Katherine followed. -That's okay. We'll fix this whole matter for you. -She said, just turning half of her head at the stunning digimon still sitting in the bar. It was that look again, the one Jazz had when she fought Koemon, that determined, angry look.
As they got up the stairs, Katherine tried talking to the bunny digimon. -You can't blame this people for not wanting to think bad about their savior... -Katherine said, walking behind Jazz. -Don't tell me you also can't see that... -No. -The girl interrupted. I'm on your side... There's something odd going on at this village. -She add, firmly. -And we're going to find out what it is. -That's what I like to hear. -A confident smirk was drawn on Jazz face. -You may need a little help with that... -The duo turned back to see the plant digimon that served them drinks at Gotsumon's Palace, that was just behind them. She seemed to have followed them from downstairs. -My name is Alraumon, by the way.

-I was just hanging at the Inn, enjoying my spare time, and I heard your conversation with that group of Penmon. -Alraumon remarked, sitting on the lower part of the bunk bed, already inside of Katherine and Jazz's room. -They were part of a bigger group that went to the palace earlier, while you were there. -The plant digimon continued. -Lord Gotsumon sent them back home because they didn't have any money... -A rather sad expression could be seen on her face.
-How much is he charging you for this? How does it work? -Katherine asked, leaning on the wall. -It is called the 'Sunny room' service. I don't really know how it works... -Alraumon frowned. -You get into an specific room of the palace, something on the roof is very shiny and you can actually feel the sun rays on your skin, and the heat around all of your body. -She explained -It definitely is like being under the sun -She paused for a minute -He really doesn't charge me for this, but... He charges every regular citizen with around 10.000 bits per use. Katherine turned at Jazz, without really knowing how much money could that be, even though, based on the price of their room, it did seem incredibly expensive. -That is incredibly expensive. Jazz's bandits never made that amount on their whole run. -Jazz explained, Katherine slightly face-palming. Jazz bandits weren't exactly the definition of successful bandits. -Why isn't he charging you, Alraumon? -Katherine asked. -Apparently I'm helping the Sunny Room to work, somehow... -She said, in a flat tone. -Somehow? -Jazz frowned. -If I work hard on the palace, cleaning, serving and maintaining the garden, at the end of the day my head expels some sort of pollen. According to Lord Gotsumon, that pollen helps the machine at the Sunny Room to work properly. -Alraumon replied. -But you don't believe that's completely true, do you? -Katherine raised an eyebrow, looking at the plant digimon.-Uh? -Alraumon turned at her. -If you would believe all of this, you wouldn't be here. -Jazz remarked.-I... -The plant sighed. -I do think it's wrong to charge the digimon of the village for this service. And I feel he doesn't treat us workers of the palace so good... -But...? -But I've come here for something more... -Alraumon got off the bed and bowed to the duo, in a begging position, leaning her head on the floor -If you're going to Tarabyte Mountain... Please... SAVE MY FRIEND! -Silence reigned across the room. There were tears in Alraumon eyes. -Your... friend? -Katherine's eyes widened. Alraumon, then, started telling a story.
I arrived to this town long ago, I can't even remember when. But I remember the sun still brighten up above. Tired, being just a Tanemon, I looked for food and water. Desperate, I found a house with it's backdoor opened and entered to steal a plate full of meat that was lying over a table, it smelled so good. When I was almost out of there, with the plate on my head, I tripped over a vine thrown at me and fell. I looked up, and then I saw her.
-I'm sorry, but I can't let you get away with that -She said smiling. Her name was Floramon. -The rest of the baby digimon here need that food to live.
Floramon took me in when no one else would. She was a kind digimon that helped every other digimon in need of a warm bed and food. I went to form part of her family, a bunch of baby and in-training digimon that she had found starving, like me. She fed all of us daily and we all get to live with her in her house. It was perfect, I finally had a family, friends, and a place where I belonged to.
-I don't even get it, Floramon... Why do you do this for me, for all of us? -I asked, one day.
-The future of Rococo Village must be kept alive! Inside each and every one of you, is the fire that can keep this village alive, even through the hardest times! -She answered. She was so beautiful. I always looked up to be like Floramon.
But I guess... Happiness can't last forever. One day, the sun stopped coming out on this village. We thought it was normal, and that it would come out the next day, but it didn't. Neither the next one or the next one. Floramon thought it was just the 'Nuba Storm'. A weather phenomena that happens every 4 years around Terabyte Mountain, where the sun hides for over 15 days.
18 days had passed, and still not even a single ray of sun. Digimon started fallen sick due to lack of sun rays. That day, Gotsumon arrived to the village. He came by himself with an old bag on his back. He said he came from far away, from a village that had suffered the same lack of sun, and that he could build a machine to fix it, if we all helped him with money. Everybody was desperate, so they gave him all of their money. He got inside an old abandoned house, and started working on such machine. Floramon was heavily against this and even went to his house to confront Gotsumon. She said this was only the 'Nuba Storm' extending for a little, and that he didn't need to take advantage of the townsfolk desperation. Gotsumon kicked her out, he already had convinced the Knightmon that this was the right way. 20th day came, and people in town had started resenting Floramon for being against what everyone thought was our salvation. We, the baby digimon at Floramon house, were still supporting her, we were family, after all. We kept ourselves together as always.
That day, though, Floramon had taken a decision. She said she had read an ancient quill she found. She was going to go up Terabyte Mountain and find an ancient, legendary gem that holds great power. She wanted to use it to bring the sun back to our village. -No! We don't want you to leave, Floramon! We need you! -We all said.
-It is what needs to be done, darlings. -She replied, smiling, as always.
-But why you!? Why does it have to be you who do it!?
-Because how can I say I'm the protector of the flame of Rococo Village if I turn my back on this situation? I need to help the people of our village no matter what! I'll do it for all of you! -We all cried. But that's why we admired her so much, she wasn't afraid of anything when it came to protecting our village.
-I want you to have this. -I gave Floramon a purple necklace I've had since I was a baby. It was somehow a proof that I would never forget her, and I would wait for her no matter what.
With that, she took off. She said she would be back before we knew. Not long after, I found a transcription of the quill she found between her stuff. I then took it Gotsumon's palace asking for him to send a team to look for her, but he said he was too busy with the machine. 10 days passed and Gotsumon finished the machine, and everyone named him the new leader of our town. They slowly started forgetting about Floramon. I even evolved into an Alraumon, and started working at Gotsumon's palace, since that way he let me use the Sunny Room treatment, which I couldn't pay otherwise, and I thought that was one way of helping the village. Some of the babies that Floramon took care of also evolved into their child form as well, and decided to leave the village.
-Alraumon, we need to leave. You know we really can't afford to pay for the Sunny Room treatment. -All the other digimon of the family started leaving in groups, going to the southern areas. Not too long after, it was only me, waiting for Floramon. I know somehow they all wanted to tell me that she was dead. But I just... can't... accept that until I see it myself.
And now, 6 months had passed since the sun went off.
Katherine could see the tears falling on the wood floor, and all over Alraumon's eyes. It was really heartbreaking. -I've been working for Gotsumon until now, trusting the sun will come out someday, but now... -She tried to dry her tears with her arm, but it was futile, they just wouldn't stop. -I think Floramon was right, I should have trusted her since the beginning. Gotsumon is not a good digimon. -Katherine turned at Jazz. She seemed really moved by the scene too.
-I just don't know what to do. I'm afraid to go to Terabyte Mountain by myself, I don't want to leave this town without Floramon, and... I feel like I would be abandoning this people. -She continued. -Sometimes I let them pass to the Sunny Room without paying, when Gotsumon doesn't see me. But... I know it's not enough! I really want to save them! -Her head was off to the ground again, in a begging position.
-Please, I can't do this alone. Find Floramon, and find that ancient gem so we don't need Gotsumon's Sunny Room anymore! I'm begging you! -Tears could be seen on Jazz's eyes too, now.
-I really... love this town. I would do anything for them, because that's what Floramon taught me! I'm the last bit of fire that remains... here. AND I CAN'T EVEN DISCOVER WHAT'S GOING ON BY MYSELF! -She yelled. Her frustration, her sadness, it all could be seen within her eyes.
-Jazz... -Katherine handed the quill to Jazz. -We can get to where the gem is with this? -Let's see... -Jazz shook the tears out of her eyes, and rolled the paper open. -It does mention something about one quarter of the mountain. We may try looking for it.
-I've got... something else... -Alraumon opened a small, blue bag she was carrying, and handed a piece of paper to them. -This is... a map. -Katherine said, holding it wide open with both hands.
-It was between Floramon's stuff also. I never gave this to Gotsumon cause I had the idea of going looking for her myself some day. -Alraumon explained, trying to calm herself down and stop crying.
-I think she made that based on all the information she gathered around town and that quill. I'm pretty sure she took a better version of that map with her but that one should probably work. The map seemed incredibly well done. Even though she hadn't been on Terabyte Mountain, Katherine felt she could get to the exact place where the gem could be by using that map. After around a minute of silence, that felt like an eternity, Katherine spoke. -Alraumon... -The girl turned to the digimon, after taking a look at the map. -We're going to find this gem and save this town! A big smile was drawn on Alraumon's face, her eyes still covered on tears. -Y-You mean that? -She asked. -OF COURSE WE AAAAAAAAAAARE!!! -Jazz yelled, jumping as high as she could, fist up.
Alraumon slept with Jazz that night, on the top of the bunk bed. The next morning, Katherine and the two digimon went down the stairs. She was wearing her dark blue jacket zipped up to her neck again, black leather tight pants and brown boots. This time she had a snow hat, that covered most of her hair, with red skiing lenses over her head, repeating too. -Oh, you're up early, Miss Katherine, Miss Jazz. -Sorcerimon eyes widened. -Oh! I see you've made acquaintances with Alraumon. That's great -He said with a happy expression on his face. -Are you planning on going to the palace now, Alraumon? -He asked looking at the plant digimon.
-She's never coming back to that place again, Sorcerimon. -Katherine replied in a flat tone, before Alraumon could. Sorcerimon stared dumbfounded. -She's coming with us to Terabyte Mountain. -Jazz winked at Sorcerimon.
-What!? No! Wait wait wait! -Katherine could hear Sorcerimon voice behind her back. -There's no way of stopping us, Sorcerimon, we're g- -The girl turned back her view to Sorcerimon, but interrupted herself at his sight. He was holding as much food as he could with both hands. Different types of sweets, burgers, cereals, drinks and such could be seen. -Please! Take this! -He said, in a higher tone. -S-Sorcerimon... -Jazz stared, surprised. -I've been thinking about what Mrs Jazz said last night... -The wizard remarked with a sad expression -She's completely right. There's something wrong with this town. And you're the only one who could help us. So if I can help, somehow...
-Sorcerimon... Thanks. -Katherine smiled to the digimon, kindly. -LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOO! -Jazz yelled, as they went out the door, having placed in their bags all the food Sorcerimon gave to them.
-If anyone can solve the mystery of Rococo Village and save this town... It's you, gals. -Sorcerimon whispered, looking at the door with a smile.

The Floramon's retrieval team, as Jazz named them not long after going out of Cocoa Inn, walked over a dirt road that could barely be seen due to the snow. It had started snowing not long after they began to go up Terabyte Mountain, and it hadn't stop for a second, even though they had been walking for around 8 hours. Alraumon was on front of the team, looking around and calling out for Floramon. -So... Kath... what are we going to do once we find the gem? -Jazz asked, on a flat tone. -What do you mean? -Katherine questioned, frowning. -If that ancient gem turns out to be the Zoid Gem, and it actually holds the power to help this people, without them needing Gotsumon... -Then we'll leave the gem here. -Katherine interrupted, looking ahead. It was Katherine's plan to find the Zoid Gems to take them to the Drum Sanctuary. It was actually their only lead to any kind of information on why was she chosen to hold a digivice and have a digimon partner, as why did she have that strange dream before getting her gadget. Nevertheless, she wasn't planning on letting that village to their own to die under Gotsumon's command. If she had to leave the gem there, then she would. -But... -She added. -I don't think that will be necessary. -Huh? -Jazz turned at her, as they kept walking -I've got the feeling there's something else going on here. -Alraumon turned at the duo, waving at them. -Hey! Katherine! How much until we get there? -She was sure full of energy, and determined to find Floramon. Katherine opened the map, holding it with both hands. -We're circling the mountain as we go up. According to the time it took us to get here, we should get there... in a couple of days. -The fact that this wasn't a trip that long wasn't something to be ignored. Floramon could actually been back home in three or four days tops, if she had decided to go back. The recurring thought that probably something happened to her kept rising on Katherine and Jazz's minds. She couldn't be lost for over 5 months for a trip so short.
Throughout the days, the group kept eating the food Sorcerimon gave to them. Terabyte mountain was definitely huge, and the cold could be devastating at certain hours. The first night, the group found an old cave, where they managed to lighten a bonfire and rest. It was hard to get some sleep since they had that constant feeling they were in danger, due to the loneliness of the mountain and the darkness of the night. They caught the sight of a couple of hairy, white digimon that sort of looked like a Yeti. Alraumon identified them as Mojyamon. They were rather pacific, and didn't pay much attention to them, apparently because they weren't taking their food, since they had their own. The second night, which was supposed to be the last night before their arrival, they decided to keep walking, without sleeping, since they couldn't find proper cave to do so. Plus, Katherine reached the conclusion that, if they kept walking, they would reach the cave that the map showed (Where this ancient gem was supposed to be found, according to Floramon's research) at dawn. The sun started to rise from a side of the huge mountain. Katherine took a glance at the map, that clearly remarked an old, gigantic tree that seemed to be just before the cave, where the ancient gem could be found. The brunette turned to her right: the tree was right there, with it's branches and limbs completely covered in snow. The girl couldn't help but smile and turned to Alraumon. -Alraumon, the cave is just up ahead! -She said. A huge smile formed on Alraumon's face too, as she began to run as fast as she had ever ran before, the duo after her. As they got closer, their expression started changing from a happy one to an horrified, dull face. The cave was completely boarded up with rocks, dirt and snow. It was clearly visible that a cave once existed there, but the entrance had been completely covered by rubble. Alraumon eyes widened at the sight. -No! This can't be! -It wasn't only the growing realization that her friend was probably dead, but the fact that all of their odds of finding the gem had crumbled, like the cave in front of them. -FLORAMON! FLORAMON! -Alraumon yelled, as she started to grab rocks and toss them aside, in a futile attempt to clear the entrance. -So you finally made it. I've been waiting for you for a while. -A dark, mature voice was heard upon their backs. They turned to see a white figure, it was tall, white as the snow falling,it had enormous wings that seemed to be worn out, long arms and red eyes. Katherine froze at it's sight. She started to feel a dark, evil sensation around her whole body, like she was in front of her executioner, genuinely feeling like she was going to die. This digimon wasn't like anything the girl had seen before. -I'm sorry, but your little trip is over now. -The creature remarked with an evil smile.

O b l i v i o n C a v e (vs I c e d e v i m o n) -W-who are you!? -Alraumon asked. Katherine could see her legs shaking, she was definitely afraid of this digimon too. He was around 2.10 meters tall. -I feel that's not important, since you're all going to die here. -The creature remarked. Jazz and Katherine's eyes widened at the statement. -But since I've felt so lonely lately, I guess I'll just talk to you for a while. -He continued. -My name is Icedevimon. -Why do you want to kill us? -Jazz asked, moving her eyes in different directions, looking for options where to run or hide, in case a battle started, she knew she couldn't fight fist to fist against this monster, she didn't even have to try, the pure energy this creature released, his sole presence, was terrifying, Icedevimon was definitely too strong. -Oh, it's not like I want to kill you, Jazz. -The creature explained with a confident look on his face. It's just an unavoidable consequence of your actions so far. It's a ... how'd you say? -The creature placed his right hand on his chin. -'Just doing my job' thing. -He added. -So... Gotsumon sent you? -Katherine asked, looking at the creature, as terrifying as it may be. For Katherine, that was the only logical conclusion, for someone who could know exactly where they'd be and even know Jazz's name.
-I could see you're very perceptive since the moment I saw you, Mrs Katherine. -An evil smile formed over the evil creature's lips. -It's not like Gotsumon sent me. He and I concluded this was the smartest thing to do. -He explained. -See, Gotsumon is not my boss. He's more like a business partner. The creature definitely seemed much more intimidating than Gotsumon, so it wouldn't make sense for him to follow the rock's orders. -Of course it wouldn't be good for this 'Lord Gotsumon' image he has that people find out he sent someone to kill three local residents just looking for the truth. -Icedevimon raised his right hand. -That is, why you're going to die right here. -The creature shot a white beam from it's hand, directly at the trio, who jumped just in time to avoid it. Katherine looked at the ground where the beam impacted, it was completely frozen, smoking solid ice could be seen in the place where she was just standing. If that thing hit her, any of them, they were done. -You bastard! -Jazz raced towards Icedevimon, jumping halfway there.
P e t i t E a r s!!! - Jazz began spinning in the air, so fast that it created a small tornado, shot directly against Icedevimon.
The tornado hit Icedevimon and disbanded. It didn't seem to have done much harm. -Insect. -The demon said, as he extended his arm and hit the bunny with the back of his palm, making him crash against a rock.
-JAZZ! -Katherine yelled, horrified. Alraumon passed running by her.
N e m e s i s I v y !!! -The plant digimon fingers extended, almost as they were vines, tying Icedevimon's body, she then jumped, swinging around his body multiple times.
-What the...!? -Whatever she was doing, it seemed to be working.
G l o o m D u s t!!! -She yelled as she got closer to the enemy. From the top flower on Alraumon's head, a purple gas started coming out, it seemed poisonous.
-Eh!? -Icedevimon started coughing. For a minute, Katherine thought the plant digimon was winning. -You'll pay for this! -The demon opened his arms, breaking the vines with his might, making Alraumon fall to the ground. He lifted the plant with his right hand. The plant kept shaking her body trying to break free, but Icedevimon was too strong. -Gotsumon was definitely right, you are very troublesome, Alraumon. -The monster stated, with a flat tone, then threw Alraumon into the sky.
I c y S h o w e r. -Icedevimon opened his wings. A barrage of icicles started to come out of them, going straight against the plant digimon, that was still on the air.
-AHHHHHHH!!!! -A squeal of pain could be heard around the whole place, as the icicles went by Alraumon, some of them piercing the plant's skin. When the icicles stopped, she fell to the ground, completely still.
-ALRAUMON!!! -Katherine yelled. She then knew this was definitely the worse enemy they had face so far. Fugamon heartless actions couldn't even be compared to the evil inside this digimon.
-It seems I cannot underestimate you -Icedevimon said, coughing. -That stupid plant poisoned me. -He remarked, with a rather angry expression on his face. -I'm done playing games now. -He continued, turning at the human gir. -Mrs Katherine... your turn to die.
L e a t h e r W i n g. -Icedevimon started flapping his wings, slowly rising his body from the ground. A tornado started forming in front of him, it was made of smog or some kind of dark energy, since it was black. Katherine was completely paralyzed by fear. This was it? was she going to die? Without knowing why was she chosen to come to this word? without discovering the secret behind the Rococo Village's crisis? Even if she did something to survive this attack, how was she going to fight Icedevimon? This digimon was the scariest, strongest being she had ever seen.
-KATHERINE! MOVE! -When she had almost given up all hope, she heard a voice, it was Jazz, telling her to move. She then ran as fast as she could to her right, as the tornado moved towards her. The twister crashed against the rocks that were covering the entrance to the old cave, making them fly everywhere. The girl fell to the ground and covered her head, in order to avoid being hit by any of the rocks and closing her eyes to not be blinded by all the dust that the tornado rose. She then started to open them, slowly. She turned to her left, Icedevimon was walking towards her, she turned to her right and saw Jazz, still lying on the ground: she was still conscious. The girl stood up as fast as she could and picked Jazz up from the ground, running inside the cave, which entrance was completely clear right now, thanks to Icedevimon's tornado. Nevertheless, her hopes of running away through this cave quickly banished, as she reached the end of the cave after only a few steps inside. It was a very small cave, with no exit to be seen. She then turned at Icedevimon, still holding Jazz. The monster kept walking to her, slowly. She started looking around again, looking for a weapon or something to hold the creature off. She saw an old backpack lying at the eastern part of the cave. As she got distracted by the sight, Jazz had loosed from her grip and was running towards Icedevimon again.
-No! JAZZ! -Katherine squealed, without being really able to do anything to stop her.
B l a z i n g I c e!!! -The bunny started to run around Icedevimon, shooting super cooled air from her mouth. Icedevimon started shooting more ice beams from his hand but he was having trouble to hit the Lopmon. Katherine decided to make a run to the backpack, that was rather close, it was better than doing nothing. She opened the bag and found an old notebook, the cover had 'Floramon' written on it. This belonged to Floramon,Alraumon's friend. She opened it to the last page, looking for something to stop the monster.
8:15 pm: I've been running from that Icedevimon for days now. I finally got to the cave where the ancient gem is supposed to be, but it's empty. Where could that gem be? Who might have taken it? Could the data I gathered from that quill and local villagers be mistaken?. I know Icedevimon works for Gotsumon, I just know. He's trying to kill me, I don't know if I'll make it alive back to Rococo Village, but if I do, I'll tell everyone Gotsumon is not the leader they think he is.
10:11 pm: I know for sure the gem was here, but was taken for someone else. Could it be Gotsumon? did he took the gem already and that's what he's using to build that so called machine? It might as well be the case. Nevertheless, I've got the feeling there's something else inside this cave, I've got an overwhelming sensation, like another huge power is resting inside of here, somewhere, I just can't seem to find it. I know it's not the gem, because it doesn't feel warm, it feels rather cold. What could it be?
11:15 pm: Icedevimon has found me, I know he's outside, I'm going to hide this bag in here and go out to fight. I know my chances are almost zero, but if there's even a minimal chance of saving this town, I'll do it. THE FIRE OF ROCOCO VILLAGE WILL NEVER EXTINGUISH.
Nothing else was written. Now there was no doubt, Floramon was dead, Icedevimon killed her, Gotsumon told her where she'd be. Katherine turned her sight back on front. Icedevimon had tossed Jazz against the cave's wall. He then noticed Katherine, holding Floramon's notebook.
-Oh! I see you've found that bag. -He said, looking at Floramon's backpack next to Katherine. -That Floramon had it as I was chasing her, but then I never saw it again. -Icedevimon made a pause. -She was definitely... -He continued, rising his right had, where a purple necklace could be seen tied around his gigantic index finger. -Hard to catch. -Katherine and Jazz eyes widened, that must be the necklace Alraumon gave to Floramon before her taking off Rococo Village. Fear had now become anger inside the duo, how could a digimon so evil, so merciless exist? how could there be such an evil, ruthless creature?
Katherine's digivice started to trill, very hard, even harder than when she found Talia's twins or when she found Jazz back at Rustport. Why now? what was going on? Icedevimon tried to walk towards Jazz, but he had vines upon his shoulder.
-W-Why...!? -A very wounded Alraumon was holding him from behind. -You... You killed... Floramon. -She said. -Y-you've got... -Due to her wounds, it was hard for Alraumon to even speak. But her will didn't let her remain down. Was this the fire of Rococo Village that Floramon always talked about? -E-everyone on this village suffering -She continued -Why!? Why did you do this!?
-Why, you ask? -Icedevimon turned at the plant. Katherine knew if he launched another attack on her, Alraumon would be dead. -Gotsumon is paying me half of the money all of those villagers give to him to use the 'Sunny Room' -He said with an evil smirk. -Plus, he gave me half of the money that they all paid to him to build this machine -He paused for a second -Which, in case you've got any doubt, it's a complete lie. Gotsumon is just using the energy of the gem he found right here on this cave, before arriving to the village. He placed it on the roof of that so called 'Sunny Room' and that's what keeps you warm when you enter there. There's no machine or anything he needs to maintain, that's just an excuse for taking everyone's money. -The anger could be seen on Jazz and Katherine's face. Gotsumon had been tricking everyone at the village, he already had the gem and was only taking money from them to use it, even though he didn't need to. -So if you ask why I did it... -Icedevimon continued. -I guess I did it for the money. -The most evil, poisonous smile formed on his face.
-FOR THE MONEY!? -As Jazz yelled, a strong sort of explosion was heard. A hole had opened in the cave wall behind her. Katherine took the digivice inside her backpack and hold it in her hand, it was trilling like crazy. -You mocked a whole town's will, you laughed at their sickness, you separated families and killed the hero of those people... -Katherine could see the anger in Jazz's expression. The angry expression on her face didn't show evil, it showed courage. -Floramon truly cared for the future of that village, AND YOU MOCKED HER WILL - Jazz couldn't accept what this treacherous digimon had done for his own benefit. -AND YOU SAY YOU DID IT FOR THE MONEY!? -Her scream resonated around the whole mountain. Icedevimon turned his attention at her. An overwhelming power could be felt all around the place. A weird-shaped egg, started coming out of the hole that just opened behind Jazz. It was of a bright, white color, and had a very odd design. Could that be the power Floramon mentioned on her notebook? Katherine thought.
-Unforgivable... -She mumbled. Icedevimon frowned, apparently he could feel the power around the Lopmon.
-Unforgivable... -She repeated, as she began walking towards Icedevimon. -What the...? -The monster grumbled.
-It doesn't matter what you do or what you say... -The bunny continued to walk slowly, the digivice kept trilling and Katherine and Alraumon were completely paralyzed at the sight of what was going on. The feeling of a greater power being inside the cave was not something that could be ignored.
-I will never... ever... -Katherine pushed a button on her digivice, the words ARMOR EVOLUTION, could be read on the screen. Then, the gadget started glowing with a powerful white light.
-I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!!!!!!! -Jazz's body started to glow. Could this be...?
-Evo...lution?
A R M O R E V O L U T I O N (M O O S E M O N' S S U P P O R T)
-Lopmon evolves to...!!!!
It was hard for Katherine to see what was actually going on, because of the bright ray of light that covered the whole cave. She could see Jazz rising up in the air, the weird egg that had come out of the wall, also started glowing, turning into a round ball of light, it sort of 'fused' with Jazz, and she began changing form. Her body, surrounded by a bright white light started taking the form of a four legged creature, it had antlers and little wings trying to grow over it's back. As the light started to fade, Katherine could see blue stripes on it's skin. He had little brown belts tied on every foot, a long tail and red eyes.
-Moosemon.
-M-Moosemon? -Katherine was stunned at the sight of the creature, she was truly beautiful, fierce and determined to fight Icedevimon. The real battle against the evil lord of Terabyte Mountain was about to begin.

A blue aura surrounded Moosemon's body, as he hit her front right foot on the ground. An overwhelming sensation covered the whole cave, this digimon held a great amount of power, she could feel it just by looking at it.
-S-she... evolved? -Alraumon asked coughing.
-You have... evolved. -Icedevimon said. The evil smile on his face had become a much worried, frightened expression. -How did this happen!? -Jazz...? -Katherine asked, by looking at the creature in front of her. -You...! -Icedevimon said pointing at the brunette. -You did this! -Icedevimon jumped to attack the girl, Katherine closed her eyes and covered her head, letting a squeal go. -Aaaaaaahhhh!!
Icedevimon was hit mid air by a twister as big as the cave, tossing him against a wall. A couple of seconds later, Katherine opened her eyes, just to see Icedevimon lying on the ground, with a horrified expression. This was the first time during the whole battle she could see Icedevimon worried.
-I've appeared to put an end on your actions, Icedevimon. -The moose-like creature spoke. It had a deep, feminine mature voice. Katherine could definitely see some traces of Jazz's voice into it, but it sounded much more calmed and mature. -You'll pay for all your actions against the people of Rococo Village. -She continued, approaching Katherine. -I won't let you harm Alraumon any longer -She remarked, standing in front of the girl -And I, for sure... -She added, changing her standing position to an aggressive fight stance. -Won't let you touch Katherine.
Katherine blushed. She felt truly protected behind this creature. There was no doubt this was Jazz, this was her friend, her digimon partner, risking it all to protect her.
-Shut up... -The demon said, standing up. -Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP! -Icedevimon rose both arms and his wings.
I c y S h o w e r!!!! -A bunch of icicles started coming out from the creature's wings, and were shot directly against them. This was the same attack he used against Alraumon earlier, leaving her unable to stand.
H o r n B l a d e!!!! -After making a sudden movement with her head, a sort of slash cut through the wind in front of them, sending the icicles Icedevimon threw flying everywhere. The slash continued to travel through the wind, making Icedevimon jump just in time to avoid it. He was trying to fly, but the cave was too low for him to accomplish properly.
-Kath... hop up. -Katherine stared at the creature, and she finally winked and obeyed. -Oh... Sure! -The girl climbed on Jazz's back and held tight.
The Moosemon ran to the entrance of the cave, next to Alraumon, with Katherine on her back.
-Now... -Jazz began -You won't escape this place. -This was definitely her friend Jazz, so perceptive, so intuitive. She was a specialist taking advantage of the opponent's weakness, she was blocking the only exit so Icedevimon couldn't fly properly.
-Because of your evil actions, because of everything you have done to Rococo Village... -Katherine got off the moose, as she knew Jazz was going full power. -You'll die inside of this cave.

The battle was as fierce as it could get. Even though Icedevimon managed to hit some few attacks on Jazz, the damage they made was not even comparable to the damage those attacks did to Jazz on her previous form. Evolution was really an amazing process for strengthening a digimon. Moosemon could easily withstand all of his attacks, while Icedevimon seemed to be having trouble bearing through the moose techniques.
H a n g i n g T w i s t e r! -Another twister was formed in front of the moose, and shot straight at Icedevimon, This one was so big, the demon couldn't avoid it.
-Aaaaghhh! -Icedevimon fell to the ground. -How can her attacks damage me... so much? -He asked, as the moose walked towards him.
-I'm going to end this right now, Icedevimon. -Jazz said, getting back into fighting stance.
-We'll see about that... -Icedevimon stood up, an evil smile was drawn on his face again. -I can't believe you've made me use this technique... -Icedevimon raised his hand.
Z e r o F r e e z e -He yelled, shooting a freezing beam from his right hand. He had used that technique before, though. Jazz quickly moved to the side, avoiding the beam. When she turned her attention back to Icedevimon, the creature had flew towards her, and was now in front of the moose. He grabbed her with both hands. His grip was strong, Jazz tried to let go but Icedevimon was using all of his strength to hold her off.
C o l d B r e a t h!!! -Icedevimon began blowing, as hard as he could. It was a cold, freezing breath. Jazz could feel all of her body getting extremely cold, from her head to every extremity were starting to freeze by the creature's breath.
-JAZZ!! -Katherine let go a squeal. She tried to reach for her but a set of vines grabbed her by her shoulder.
-Getting in there will only make... everything more difficult for her -Alraumon coughed. The vines coming from her right hand were the ones holding Katherine. -You need to trust... she've got what it takes to win.
Katherine turned to Alraumon, then back to Jazz, she took a deep breath.
-YOU CAN DO THIS, JAZZ. YOU'VE GOT HIM RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, FINISH HIM. -The girl yelled with all of her might.
As her body started showing shatters of ice, Jazz looked at Icedevimon right in the eyes. -Thanks... for getting... -She began. Icedevimon frowned, but didn't say a thing, just kept blowing.
-So... -The moose charged her head back and made a sudden movement to her front, unleashing a slash of cutting wind against Icedevimon, who was just in front of her. -CLOSE! -Jazz added yelling.
The slash cut through the air and right through Icedevimon, wounding him of death.
-Aaaaaaaahhhhh!!! -The monster squealed in pain, letting Jazz go, and walking back. Small pieces of pixelated data could be seeing leaving the creature's body through his wound, right on his chest.
-Do not worry, Icedevimon... -Jazz said, as another tornado began forming in front of her, ready to be shot at the the demon. -Gotsumon is next. -The tornado was shot, crossing through the small cave and hitting Icedevimon directly, slowly disintegrating his body with every spin of wind.
-NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! -The voice of Icedevimon started fading, as he disappeared on thin air, leaving only little dots of what seemed to be data. This was actually the first time Katherine was seeing a digimon die. The group of data just flew into the air, and disappeared into the distance.
-Where is that going? -Katherine asked Jazz, as the moose walked up to her.
-The Village of the Beginnings. It's a place on the Digital World where he'll have the chance to reborn as a good digimon. -Jazz explained, on a flat tone. -I could have absorbed his data, and that way I would get stronger and he wouldn't reborn in any way, but I would like to think he didn't do the same to Floramon. -The moose added. The duo walked to Alraumon.
-That was... amazing, Jazz. -She said, with a painful expression on her face. -I'm sorry... -The plant added. -I can't even... stand up.
-That's okay, I got you. -Katherine lifted Alraumon, grabbing her with both hands. She was terribly wounded by Icedevimon's attack, it seemed almost miraculous she was still alive. Katherine placed Alraumon on Jazz's back, walked to Floramon's backpack and put it on her own back, along with her own backpack.
-So that's... Floramon's backpack. -Alraumon said, looking at Katherine.
-Yes, there's a diary that belonged to her inside of it. There, she wrote that she had been running away from Icedevimon since she started going up the mountain. -Katherine explained. -She already suspected he had been sent by Gotsumon. She... -The brunette paused, a sad expression on her face, Floramon's necklace was lying on the ground, it was the one Icedevimon had tighten around his finger. -She never stopped believing in the fire of Rococo Village. -She added, picking up the necklace, and putting it in Floramon's bag. -She reached this cave, but the gem was gone already.
-Gotsumon took it, right? -Alraumon asked.
-Yes, the gem has always been inside of Gotsumon's palace -The brunette answered. -There was never such machine, Gotsumon had the gem all along and that's what he's using to make the Sunny Room work.
-So he never needed anyone's money, or the gas I expel from my head after all the hard days of work? -The plant asked, with a plain expression, like already knowing the answer.
-He didn't need any of that, he was just using you to work for him, and everyone else to get money. -Katherine answered, all the anger from before, had just become sadness on her face. Alraumon only closed her eyes, in a hopeless manner.
-So... are we done here? -Jazz asked. Katherine turned at her. -We should get going. -Where are we going now, Jazz? -She asked, really unknowing what was next. -Isn't that obvious? We're going to get the gem from Gotsumon and end this once and for all. -The moose remarked firmly. -Eh!? Right now? -Katherine asked, stunned. -Are you sure you're ready for another battle!? -Katherine meant herself more than Jazz. All the fuzz, the tension and the fear of dying the last battle brought sure wasn't something she was dying to repeat in a day. -If we come back and don't face him, he'll know we survived Icedevimon, and will probably leave the village. -Jazz explained. She had a point. -So we need to get him right now. -She added. -I'm much faster now, and can go down the mountain with no trouble. If I go full speed, we can reach Rococo Village in about four hours. -Yes, you're right. Let's do this! -Katherine said, climbing on Jazz's back again, leaving Alraumon in front of her, who had started crying.
-Katherine... Jazz... -The plant already had trouble to speak, due to her wounds, and now the crying made it even more difficult. -THANK YOU!! -Alraumon yelled, as tears dropped from her eyes. A smirk formed on Katherine and Jazz's mouths.
-We are saving this village, Alraumon, I promise. -Jazz remarked, on a confident tone. -Ooooh! You're so cool big sis Jazz! -Katherine said with a mischief smile, leaning up front and whispering in the moose's ear. She could actually see Jazz blushed from there.
-SHUT UP! LET'S GO ALREADY! -Jazz said, on a higher pitch. Katherine giggled. The Floramon's retrieval team, began going down Terabyte Mountain.

Almost four hours had passed since the group left the cave where they defeated Icedevimon, and they were almost back at Rococo Village again. The speed Jazz could reach having the Moosemon form was incredible for Katherine, they went down the mountain in a matter of a few hours, when going up, walking, took them around two days. Jazz, who was running at full speed, suddenly stopped at a certain point of the mountain. Katherine, who was holding tight into the creature, loosed her grip for a second and rose her body, to look at the road ahead. From there, Gotsumon palace could be seen. -We're almost there. -Jazz stated, on a serious tone. -Alraumon, I should probably leave you at Cocoa Inn before going to face Gotsumon. -She added. -It's dangerous for you to go there this wounded. -No way... -Alraumon replied immediately. -I'm going. -That's what I thought. -Jazz replied with a soft smirk. -Hold on tight, Kath. -The moose started coming down the mountain, this time she was only falling through the snow, pushing her feet against the ground to not roll over. It was definitely more dangerous than going down the main road, but this way they would reach faster, and right into the palace. -The palace is just up front! -Katherine said, rising her voice for Jazz to be able to hear her, due to the sound the moose made by going down the hill. -Hold on tight, I'm jumping. -Jazz remarked, on a flat tone. -Y-You're... what?
Katherine eyes widened, as upon finishing the sentence, Jazz had already lifted from the ground, crossing the skies on a high jump, making the brunette feel like she was going to die, once again, today. The trio were heading straight to a wall of the palace, had Jazz gone mad? was the air this high cooler? should she check on Alraumon's pulse? all of this questions crossed Katherine's mind, as she could almost see her life going through her eyes. The moose charged her head back, mid-air, to release a powerful slash that crossed the air upon them, completely destroying the wall up front, leaving room for their landing, inside of the palace. They seemed to have landed upon a room from the second floor, so they should go up the stairs to reach for Gotsumon. Nevertheless, Jazz was expecting to find some resistance, not a single Knightmon could be seen. -Hhmm? -The moose tilted her head. -Shouldn't there be a lot of Knightmons here by now?. -Having come back to life, Katherine showed her head from behind her partner's. -COULD YOU TELL ME WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO DO THAT, YOU SCARED ME TO DEATH. -The brunette yelled. -A very peevish royal guard. -Jazz continued, completely ignoring the girl, looking at her surroundings. -Huh? -Katherine winked at the sight. The room was completely empty. -I think there's something going on downstairs. -Alraumon said, for Katherine surprise, being okay after Jazz's crazy maneuver. Or at least, as 'okay' as she could be after being terribly wounded by Icedevimon's attack. Plus, she was right, they could hear some sort of fuss going on downstairs.
Katherine got off Jazz, and they both walked to a big window that seemed to aim to the front entrance. Looking by the window, a huge mob could be seen on the front gate, a whole set of Knightmon were trying to contain them, as they kept yelling. "We want to see Gotsumon!" "Yes! It's not fair he's charging us for the use of the Sunny Room without even telling us how it works!" "He's a liar! we want him to come out!" "Yes! Bring him out here!" were some of the things that could be heard from there. The trio smiled at this sight. The people of Rococo Village had finally become aware the kind of digimon Gotsumon was. Upon looking a bit better, the smiling trio could see a figure in front of the mob: it was Sorcerimon. The group of Knightmon on the entrance seemed to be holding them off as much as they could. As the looked by the window, the sound of a Knightmon go racing through the stairs just behind them, caught their attention. He seemed to be heading to the third floor, where Gotsumon was located. Jazz, with Alraumon on her back, started running behind the Knightmon, with Katherine following behind. It seemed their unorthodox entrance was ignored due to the fuss going on downstairs, and nobody had actually noticed they were inside the palace now.
-Lord Gotsumon!! -Knightmon said, going into the room by the front door. -There's a furious mob of people down the entrance! They demand you to come out and give explanations. Jazz, Alraumon and Katherine, had reached the door to the room, and just stood there, listening to the conversation, without being noticed. -Yes... so I've heard... -Gotsumon's tone had changed completely, it was a much dull, darker tone. -Get rid of them, I'm the savior of this town, I don't have to give any explanations to them. -He said, with an almost carelessly expression. -B-But... they won't go, sir! We tried to tell' em. -Knightmon replied, almost scared of the rock digimon. -I didn't say that you told them to go home... -The leader's expression changed, to an angry one -I said to get rid of them! However it's necessary! Use force if you have to! -The creature yelled. -Sir! We can't... do that. -Knightmon said, on a flat tone. Katherine could notice he was trying to be brave. -We can't harm our own people.
-You dare to disobey me!? -Gotsumon started glowing, on white light.
-He's... evolving. -Katherine, who was peeking through the half-open door whispered.
-Huh!? Gotsumon? -Alraumon was still lying on Jazz's back, and couldn't see much of what was going on.
-THEN YOU MUST DIE! -A white, slightly bigger Gotsumon, formed a huge ball of ice in front of him, it was at last two times bigger than Knightmon.
I C E B O M B!!! -With his hands, controlling the ice ball like he had telekinesis, he shot the ball to the warrior. A huge explosion was heard and a bunch of freezing smoke covered the place. When the smoke banished, Jazz was standing in front of Knightmon, who was completely safe.
-I will not let you harm any other villager, Gotsumon. -Jazz stated firmly, before making a sign with her head for the Knightmon to step back.
This new white Gotsumon looked stunned at the moose, and then noticed Katherine, holding Alraumon standing on the eastern part of the room.
-W-WHO ARE YOU!? -He asked, completely upset for the creature's apparition.
-I'm Jazz, I've evolved to this form, to put an end on your spiteful actions. -The rock creature eyes widened by connecting the dots, realizing that meant the trio had defeated Icedevimon if they were there.
-I suppose it doesn't make sense to keep the good guy act anymore huh? -He said, with an evil look. -Okay, then. -He added. -My name is Icemon, and I'm going to crush whoever is necessary to protect my legacy!

The first surprise Icemon was giving the trio, was that he was now able to float on the air. He had opened both arms and raised around 5 feet above ground. He then moved quickly towards Jazz, punching her several times before she could react. His movements were extremely quick.
S o l i d S t r i k e!!!! -The ice digimon started glowing with blue light, giving several more punches to Jazz, swinging his arms erratically with much strength. He delivered a last, mighty blow to the moose, sending her straight against the wall.
-You don't stand a chance. -The creature started walking towards Jazz. Katherine could only look worried, holding herself to scream. She had to trust Jazz, she had to trust she would get up.
-Come on, girl, you got this. -She mumbled on a low tone, still holding Alraumon, who was still paying much attention to the battle.
I c e b a l l B o m b!!! -Another giant ball of ice was thrown, this time directly at the Moosemon. Jazz cut through it using the Horn Blade. She had now realized she wasn't going to win this fight on speed, but on power. She stood up, and prepared her next attack.
H a n g i n g T w i s t e r -A twister, the biggest she had created so far, was formed in front of Jazz. Katherine frowned at the sight. Was that going to work? She couldn't even hit the creature due to his great speed.
I c e S t r i k e!!! -With a swift movement, the Icemon flew through the air and prepared to strike Jazz, but the wind sent him flying away.
-You can't touch me like this, Icemon. -The tornado was swirling around Jazz's body, making a barrage against Icemon, who was clearly too thin to withstand the spinning wind. -Of course you're too fast for this twister to hit you if I threw it at you -Jazz added. -But you do need to get close to me to hit me, and you're going to need to get through the power of the wind!
-YES! You've got him, Jazz! -Katherine yelled, bouncing out of pure joy. -Good job, Moose-Jazz! -Alraumon yelled, being held by Katherine yet.
-How do you dare... to defy me? -Icemon asked, standing up. Katherine could see he was angry. -You'll pay for this! -He lifted his body above ground height once again and ramped against Jazz, but being tossed to the side again by Jazz's tornado.
H o r n B l a d e! -A wind-cutting slash went against Icemon, who moved quickly to get out of it's way, letting it destroy part of the walls.
-No! My precious palace! -Icemon yelled, as he turned back to see the mess caused by the technique, and landed far from it. -How dare you destroy my palace!?
-He should see what we did to the second floor... -Katherine mumbled on low voice.
-This is not your palace! This is a place that belongs to the people of Rococo Village! -Jazz stated firmly.
-Huh...? -Icemon looked at Jazz with a nauseous look -I'm the leader of Rococo Village! This is where I deserve to be!
-LEADER!? -Jazz yelled. -YOU CALL YOURSELF A LEADER!? -She asked, with fire in her eyes. Silence reigned across the room for a couple of seconds. -A leader never harms their subordinates. A leader never puts his own people at risk or lies to them! -Jazz began walking towards Icemon. -A leader never would kill and deceive their people because of the money! -She launched another Horn Blade, destroying another wall, with Icemon barely escaping from the attack. Flashbacks of all the time she was a leader at Jazz's bandits back in Rustport went through her head. They never had lots of money or the comfiest life, and even though she sometimes may yell at them, she truly respected them, and placed their safety and well-being about anything else. Katherine also started remembering how difficult it was for Jazz to leave that trio of Psychemon behind, how much trouble she had leaving Rustport behind, if someone knew something about being a true leader, it was Jazz.
-You deceived the poor Alraumon into making her believe her hard work was doing something for this village! You lied to her! You lied to everyone! -Jazz said, as Icemon kept trying to hit her, but was only thrown backwards by the tornado surrounding her.
-Oh... -Upon hearing this words, Icemon stopped his attempts to harm Jazz for a moment, and just stood in front of her, keeping his distance. -Don't you know...? -Jazz frowned at his question. -I guess Icedevimon didn't tell you... -He continued, an evil smile taking form on his face. -All of that work Alraumon did... it was, helpful...
-Uh? -Katherine holding Alraumon looked straight at Icemon.
-After much effort, Alraumon releases some sort of purple dust -He began explaining -I told her that helped the machine at the Sunny Room to work, which as you must know by now, doesn't exist -He continued, showing no kind of remorse of his actions -I just happen to be using that gem I found at the mountains just by pure coincidence. But... there's more... That dust that comes out from Alraumon's head, it is useful... -Being because he felt he was going to win or because he was sure he was going to lose anyways, Icemon told a stunning truth to the group. -I placed all of the dust in a bag, in front of Alraumon, and then, during the night, I released it to the sky.
-With what purpose? -Jazz asked, looking at her enemy with anger.
-Oh, you're dying to know, huh? -He asked with a mischief smile. -Well, you'll see... -He paused for a second -Not long after accepting Alraumon to work at the palace, I read a book where I learnt that purple dust Alraumon releases sticks to the clouds above the sky, making them grow even five time their size, over a determined region
Jazz remained silent, trying to understand what was behind his words.
-So... you don't understand yet? -Icemon asked.
-I-it can't be... -Katherine said, horrified by the discovery, she was beginning to connect dots.
-Let's just say... Floramon was right all along. At first, the Nuba Storm, the climatic phenomena that occurs upon this town every 4 years... had just extended for around 10 days more. -Icemon began -The rest of the time, it was just me using that purple dust that came out of Alraumon's head to make the clouds bigger and block the sun. -Jazz and Katherine's body froze completely. It was Gotsumon all along, he was the culprit that the sun wasn't coming to Rococo Village, Floramon was right all along, it was only the Nuba Storm at first, the rest of the time it was thanks to Gotsumon, deceiving Alraumon.
-YOU DAMN BASTARD!!!!! -Alraumon jumped from Katherine's arms, fist up, ready to attack Icemon. The creature smiled, and shot another ball of ice, this time to the plant. Another layer of smoke covered the room, when it banished, Alraumon was lying on the ground, she didn't seem to have been hit by the ice ball, instead, it seemed like Jazz destroyed it on time. -HOW COULD YOU!? YOU DIDN'T ONLY LIE TO ME, YOU USED ME TO MAKE MY PEOPLE SUFFER! -Alraumon was trying to jump back on Icemon, but a twister had risen her, and placed her next to Katherine again.
-Now! -Icemon jumped, moving quickly through the air. Jazz's barrier of wind was down, since she was using the twister to hold Alraumon. -Here comes my lethal blow!!!
Just before the blow was given, Jazz let go a extremely loud, almost deafening roar, that could be heard around the whole Rococo Village. Icemon was sent immediately backwards, straight to a wall, again, unable to hit the Moosemon. Without moving any muscle, Icemon was looking at Jazz, completely paralyzed.
-W-What have you done to me!? I can barely move my body! -Icemon said, in a desperate manner. -You've been paralyzed by my Saint Roar. -Jazz explained on a flat tone, starting to walk slowly towards to creature.
-You have no legacy...
...You are no savior...
...You have no pride...
...And you're certainly...
Jazz began to run, straight to Icemon, that was not going to be able to dodge the attack, since he couldn't even move. As she ran, she kept gaining speed, and a light blue aura started to surround her body,
...NO LEADEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRR!!!!!!
Jazz hit Icemon, with such might that the front wall of the palace was broken by his body flying into the air, in front of the mob that was at the entrance. Sorcerimon, every Knightmon and every villager, just watched as Icemon sort of exploded into the sky, much like Icedevimon did earlier, leaving only little bits of data. Gotsumon was finally defeated.

F i n a l l y O v e r (R o c o c o's F i r e)While Gotsumon banished in little bits of data into the sky, Alraumon just watched dumbfounded, tears on her eyes due to the upsetting revelation she had just received. Multiple flashbacks began going through her mind.
About Floramon and the first time she saw her. 'I'm sorry, but I can't let you get away with that! The rest of the baby digimon here need that food to live.'
About her will to protect the undying flame of Rococo Village: 'The future of Rococo Village must be kept alive! Inside each and every one of you, is the fire that can keep this village alive, even through the hardest times!'
About the time she saw her for the last time: 'Because how can I say I'm the protector of the flame of Rococo Village if I turn my back on this situation? I need to help the people of our village no matter what! I'll do it for all of you!'
Alraumon eyes had started watering before she even noticed. -Floramon... -She mumbled, crying already. -You were right... you were always right, about everything. -Alraumon began walking to the hole that Gotsumon had made on the wall before dying, thanks to Jazz's tackle. -About the 'Nuba Storm', about Gotsumon, about the fire inside of the heart of all of us. -She looked at the people at the front entrance. The Knightmons, Sorcerimon, and every other villager were just staring at the sky, where Gotsumon had disappeared in front of their eyes, silently. -But it's all over now, Floramon. -Alraumon kept mumbling. -I'm... I'm... -It was hard for her to even speak, due to her intense crying. -I'M SORRY, FLORAMON. I'LL DO MY BEST TO PROTECT THIS VILLAGE'S FIRE, JUST AS YOU DID. -She yelled into the sky. Her voice sounded around the whole palace.
Jazz fell to the ground, sideways. She began glowing with a white light once again, taking the form of the little bunny she was before evolving, Katherine ran towards her and crouched to lift her from the ground. She was fast asleep. -I was afraid you were going to remain like that forever -Katherine giggled. -You did an awesome job, girl. You must be very tired. -Katherine held the bunny in her hands. She then noticed, on the ground, the white oddly shaped sort of egg she saw back at the cave. So it was as she saw, that thing had sort of 'fused' with Jazz making her evolve. She put it in her backpack.
The Knightmon who Icemon almost killed, and was saved by Jazz at the last second, and who watched the whole battle between the rock creature and the moose, explained everyone in town the situation, how Gotsumon had lied to all of them, how he never needed any money and there was no machine and how he was using Alraumon to make the clouds in the sky bigger so the sun never came to the village, and that, now that Alraumon was not overworking herself, the sun would probably come back in a matter of days. After going down to the second floor, Katherine found the so-called 'Sunny Room'. The gem, placed on the roof in the middle of the room, had a reflective amplifier in front of it, which made it look so bright, so no one who entered there could actually see the gem and tell what was going on, that's how Gotsumon could say it was a machine working without being discovered. Katherine took the gem off the roof and took it to Cocoa Inn, placing it on the ground floor, where every villager could receive the warm sun-ray-like feeling it emanated with no charge whatsoever, while they wait for the sun to return. Meanwhile, Alraumon was attended by the local doctors who said she was going to recover, and she just needed a few days. They also looked at Jazz, who had minor wounds and was just very tired. She woke up the next morning, and she and Katherine waited for a few days for Alraumon to get better, and for the sun to come out.
Four days after the battle, during the morning, the sun rays were finally visible at Rococo Village, once again, after six months. That meant Alraumon's purple dust effect over the clouds had finally waved off. Everyone's faces lightened up, just as the town did. A big party was held in front of Cocoa Inn, with the sun shinning bright up above. All the townsfolk were dancing, singing and laughing. The sun was finally back at Rococo Village. -Here! Have more chocolate chips, Mrs Jazz, Mrs Katherine. -Sorcerimon walked towards the duo with a tray. As the girl and the bunny ate chips, which tasted, as everything in Rococo Village, oddly good, Sorcerimon turned at the townsfolk, cheering for the Penmon brothers to do the limbo, while everyone laughed and danced.-It's so good to see everyone so happy, finally. -He said, with a nostalgic tone. -They are so funny! -Katherine couldn't help but laugh at the sight. Partially cause it made her happy that this was all finally over, and also because Penmon brothers were failing terrible at doing the limbo on Knightmon's sword. -It is a great party. -Alraumon said, standing next to both Jazz and Katherine. -EHHHHH!? -Katherine, Jazz and Sorcerimon turned at Alraumon at the same time. -Mrs Alraumon! Are you sure it's okay that you're off the bed? -Sorcerimon asked worried. -I'm fine, Sorcerimon! I feel much better now! -Alraumon giggled. -Plus, I couldn't miss this great party! -She said smiling. The party had gone quiet, everyone had noticed Alraumon presence and were staring at her. Katherine and Jazz got a little worried for a second. Could they be mad at her? It was her purple dust the cause they didn't have sun for months, but it wasn't her fault, she was being tricked by Gotsumon.
-OUR SAVIOR IS HERE!!! -They all yelled at the same time, laughing and clapping. They walked to Alraumon and lifted her, tossing her up into the sky and catching her, calling her 'The savior' while Sorcerimon walked behind them. -P-Please stop! Alraumon hasn't fully recovered from her wounds! -But it was all good, Alraumon was happy, everyone was happy, just as Floramon would've wanted.
-So, in the end, she is the real savior. -Jazz said to Katherine, on a quiet tone. -She is. -Katherine smiled.
Two days more passed. The sun was shinning up above, the digimon that were sick because of the lack of sun had fully recovered and there were still digimon unable to move because of how much they ate at the party. -So, since we have the sun on our village back, we're not going to need this anymore, Kath, Jazz. -Alraumon said handing the ocher colored gem to Katherine. -You may have this, I know you needed it. -Thank you very much, Alraumon. -Katherine smiled warmly to the plant digimon. Upon looking at it, Katherine could feel a warm feeling around her whole body. It was definitely a very powerful gem. There was no doubt on her mind, this was the Ocher Zoid Gem, one of the 5 gems the ancient sage lost and that she needed to take to the drum sanctuary. It sure wasn't easy, but they had found the first. Plus, Jazz had evolved now, so they were stronger than ever. -Ooooohhh. -Jazz's eyes shined upon the sight of the gem. -So we finally have it, the Ocher Zoid Gem. Katherine placed it in her backpack, along with some food and clothes Sorcerimon had given to them. -I hope those clothes I gave you can be of some use for you, Mrs Katherine. -Sorcerimon walked from behind the bar. -I think you're going to need it, if you're going to the southern parts of the Digital World. -I'm sure gonna' need them, Sorcerimon. Thank you! -She said, walking towards the sorcerer and hugging him. -And thank you believing in us, and letting us stay so many days in here. -The girl added. She was truly grateful for all of Sorcerimon's help, he was a great friend for her and Jazz. As she noticed the digimon was starting to blush, she let go, giggling. -Thanks a lot, Sorcerimon. -Jazz added, smiling. -So... what's next for you two, Kath, Jazz? -Alraumon asked. -During these days, I remembered something. -Jazz explained. -Some time ago, I got the chance to speak to an old merchant on Rustport Town, where I lived before joining Kath. -Jazz hoped into a seat of the bar and started drinking her last coup of Rococo Chocolate for a while. -Apparently, he had just visited Whitewater City, back then. -That's a city on the Southern Tropics region right? -The plant digimon asked, intrigued. -That's right. -Jazz nodded. -According to his words, he had met a very annoying digimon that only bragged about a certain blue gem he had found on an expedition and that held great powers. -So you're thinking that might be one of the gems you and Mrs Katherine are looking for? -Sorcerimon asked. -I'm not sure... but so far is the only lead we have. -Jazz said, placing her right hand on her chin and looking down. -What are you going to do now, Alraumon? -Katherine asked, with a soft smile. -Once I'm sure everyone is okay, and my wounds are completely healed... -Alraumon paused. -I'm leaving the village. -EEEEHHHHH!? -They all squealed at the same time. -B-But why!? -Katherine asked, stunned at the declaration. -I'm going to the Village of the Beginnings. -The plant replied. -That place were digimon reborn, right? -Katherine remembered Jazz telling her about it, when Icedevimon died. -That's right, if I'm lucky, I can find some baby digimon I can bring here and take care of them like Floramon did with me and the family! -Alraumon scratched the back of her head. -Who knows, maybe if I'm lucky, I could find Floramon's reincarnation herself. -She added smiling. -I'm happy for you, Alraumon. -Yes, me too. -Jazz added. -I don't know how to thank you for everything you did here. -She replied, on a sad tone. -But I know for sure I won't let the Rococo Village fire extinguish! We're all going to keep working hard for this town. -Her expression changed to a much more determined one now.
Katherine and Jazz left Rococo Village, everyone in town waving goodbyes at them as they walked through the streets. They had made a bunch of new friends, had found the first Zoid Gem, had had their first major battle together. But most importantly, they had unveiled and faced The Secret of Rococo Village.
