After all these years, the duo had finally returned to where it all began. All those years ago, Rich and Leo had been in this very spot on their first day in the digital world. The riverfront that was littered with wooden signs sticking out of the sign reading 'KEEP OUT' and 'DANGER'. Some of the signs were broken while others were taken over by vegetation. The sun was beaming down on the river front making the whole area well lit. These were the same conditions for when they first arrived in the digital world.
Rich walked over to one of the signs that was still intact and leaned on it. He stretched his limbs out and looked up at his digimon partner. "Well. Here we are again. We're finally ready to face the thing we have put off for so long. We're ready. We're more experienced, Stronger, smarter, and older." Rich looked down at his child body and frowned. "Well, most of those things, but we are ready to face him." The small tamer walked over to the lake and sat down at the edge of the water. He traced patterns in the water and waited for their objective to show itself.
Leo walked over and sat beside him. "You know, he may not even be here anymore. A lot has happened since our first day in the digital world. Or worse, he may have gotten stronger or gotten some friends. I know I'm rambling on, but I don't like the idea of us coming back here. It feels like we're expected to be here." Leo said, throwing a rock into the lake. He knew he shouldn't be, but he was scared. This was the place where Leo had first digivolved to Coronamon, but he still wasn't strong enough to beat the monster.
"Relax, Leo. We're possibly the strongest ones in the whole digital world. This guy was strong when we were smaller, but now we're the perfect team. If worse comes to worse, we can just bust out Apollomon and make him remember us." Rich said, patting his digimon on the back. Leo forced a smile, but knew there was something off about the whole situation.

Since their situation in the dark area, Everett was a little more hesitant to be such a jerk to strangers. It wasn’t necessarily that they’ve been taught a lesson, per say, but the lawyer realized that rules in this world were different than in the real world. You couldn’t just assess someone by their physique and pick a fight with them; here, you pick a fight with a bunny and you end up being eaten by a fire-breathing dragon. Okay, so maybe it was a lesson, but regardless Everett wanted to take it easy… at least for a while.
Graedon, on the other hand, was his usual self. It didn’t matter that he was rendered immobile and skewered by a giant devil, nor that he was so weak he began to lose data. All that mattered was that he won in the end, period. Since then, the man found himself excusing his partner’s behavior often, and that usually ended up in bickering between the two. The thug just didn’t get it; the term “lay low” simply didn’t exist in his world.
Today had been rather uneventful, and after their escapades in the dark parts of the digital world, the duo returned to beautiful beach-side Whitewater. They were meandering around the area, looking for fresh fruit to keep them going. For once, Everett had enough Whiskey, drinking a little too much the day before, and so today his flask would remain tucked away neatly inside his briefcase. His cigars, however, were never off limits. Pulling out a lighter, Everett fired it up and left but a cloud of smoke behind him. As they wandered farther and farther away from Whitewater City, they soon realized that they had traveled quite a bit. Of course, they’d managed to pick up sustenance on their route; coconuts, roots, and some fruit, but now they were on the border of the desert. ”Do we even have water?” inquired the man. ”Nope. Your hung over butt decided to chug the whole damn bottle, remember?” Rolling his eyes, the haggard lawyer decided to leave this one. It was way too hot out for more heated quarreling. But to his excitement, Everett spied a pool of azure sparkling in the distance. ”Hey look, plenty more where that came from, so quit your c‘plainin.” Rushing over to the oasis, Everett immediately refilled the empty plastic container stored in his briefcase, failing to realize that they were not alone. Graedon, on the other hand, noticed the other tamer and digimon right away, and hopped on over to them. ”Hey, a kid! You lost little guy?” prodded the bruin. Everett sighed with a hit of annoyance, but after filling the bottle walked over to the trio across the waterbed. ”Forget him, he doesn’t know how to socialize.” said the lawyer, pulling on the bear’s ear. Normally, Everett didn’t like kids, nor was he courteous really. Being a self-righteous hot shot, he was always arrogant. But seeing as he was trying to make some good ties in the Digital World, he would bite his tongue and try to... be nice. ”Who’re you guys? I’m Graedon and this here no-fun tamer is Everett. Why is a little kid all the way out here? Where’s your mommy?” Of course, while Everett would try to behave, clearly Graedon had an agenda of his own.

Leo's ears perked up as the sound of footsteps grew closer. He turned to see a tamer and his digimon getting a drink from the lake. They didn't seem to pay the signs any mind, so hopefully they would be alright if the monster in the lake was still around. He didn't pay that much attention to them until one of the voices was directed at Rich. The lake seemed so serene and pure, they almost forgot why they were there.
Rich looked over at the bear digimon and flashed a smile. He still found it enjoyable that people still thought he was just a little kid. He stood up and shook his head at the bearmon. "No, I'm not lost. I guess you could say I live in the digital world now." Rich explained, putting his hood down, revealing his childish face. It was then that he realized that this tamer was older than the average tamer that wandered around the digital world. Rich and Leo knew some older tamers, but this guy looked like he would be more comfortable sitting behind an office desk than running around with a digimon partner.
Leo smiled at the small conflict between Graedon and Everett. It reminded him all too well of his own with his tamer. He walked up to the tamer and stuck his hand out to shake. "He can't be worse than this one here. He tends to trail off and do his own thing most of the time. I'm Leo and my tamer is Rich. It's nice to meet you two."
The mommy comment went right through the young tamer. He hadn't seen his family or any of his friends in over a year. His smiled slowly faded from his face and was replaced with a frown. He turned to face the lake and put his hood back up to cover his face. "I honestly couldn't tell you where she is. I haven't seen my family in quite some time now. You could say I've been dead for a little over a year now." Rich explained in a mellow tone. He wasn't about the share his life story with some old man that he just met on the edge of a lake.
Rich's eyes widened as he finally remembered why they were there. "Listen. Its not safe to be here. There's something in the lake that has a history of being hostile and Leo and I were planning on taking him down a peg. I don't want you getting hurt during this. Rich said, turning back to the tamer and digimon.

Graedon raised a brow when the Coronamon spoke. A kid was worse than a stuck-up lawyer? He couldn’t imagine it. Nevertheless, he gave off a quick laugh at the Coronamon’s statement. After all, as digimon partners, it was kind of their job to complain about their humans. Though his chuckle subsided as he watched the kid put his hood back on, his tone changing from welcoming to somber. Oblivious to the other tamer’s emotions, Grae looked at up at Everett. ”Was it something I said?” asked the bear, utterly clueless. Everett face-palmed, proceeding to grab his partner’s stout muzzle and shutting it closed.
The two of them stopped immediately when Rich mentioned something about a monster, their attention shifting fully to what he was saying. ”Getting hurt? Not a chance, kiddo. We’ve been up against some ugly monsters in this world.” stated Everett confidently. ”Oh, and uhh… sorry about your family situation.” The lawyer assumed that by being “dead”, Rich meant he’d been in the digital world for so long now that he’d been declared missing or something like that. That was a matter all on its own though.
Bouncing up into the air, the rookie digimon grew excited. ”Yeah yeah, sob story and stuff. Who’s the monster?” furrowing his brow, Graedon hawked at Leo. ”And how do you knoooooow that he’s in here? What if it’s just an urban myth, like Godzilla?” ”Oh my god…” muttered the tamer silently, shaking his head at the overly-enthusiastic digimon. The only accounts of Godzilla that Graedon’s heard of where from Rett, though apparently he failed to realize that was a fiction film.

Rich looked down at the calm lake and sighed. It wasn't the bearmon's fault, but he did strike a raw nerve. He had been there for over a year. Have they stopped looking for him? Have they moved back to the United States without him? He always had a feeling he would meet up with his family again, but something inside him just felt like he had lost belief that he would see them again. The moment his mind had that thought, his watch on his wrist started to react. The watch face popped out of the watch as it normally did, but without Rich touching it this time. The face spun around uncontrollably before going back into the watch which caused a black shroud to cover the area for a few seconds.
When the black light hit Leo, he fell to his knees in pain. The lion digimon ground his teeth and clenched his chest with both his arms in agony. "You need to get that thing fixed. That really hurt like more than anything before." Leo said, as he struggled to get to his feet. The pain faded away from his body, but he felt different afterwards. It wasn't something that could be explained, but something was wrong with him.
Rich looked down at the infiniwatch on his wrist and poked at the screen. The words 'SAFE MODE' hovered over the watch's face. "I don't know what's going on with it. I can't even get the IC burst out to check what that light was. I guess were on our own for digivolving if we need to. Just hope that he's not past champion level." Rich said, turning back to the group. The watch had never done anything like that before. Hopefully, he could find someone that could get the thing off his wrist and fix it.
Rich turned his back to the lake and faced the group. "Listen. This thing is no joke. That thing in the lake has almost killed me and Leo once before and I'm sure he would try to do it again. During the time Rich was talking, the water in the lake had started to manifest waves of varying sizes, but the tamer didn't seem to notice. "He could have only gotten bigger and meaner since then. I can't have another person get hurt because of me.

Taken aback by the darting light, Graedon jerked back suddenly, crashing into Everett. The two of them tumbled down into the sand, the little bear quickly hopping back on his feet. The haggard lawyer however was not so quick on his feet. ”You little brat.” muttered the lawyer in his mind. Though, for the sake of seeming civil, he simply stood back up and swept the sand off of his unkempt dress pants. Pushing up the sleeves of his now ragged dress shirt, which hung loosely off his thinned silhouette, he let out a sigh and turned his focus back to the other pair.
Graedon, who had found his way over to Rich’s side during his tamer’s mishap, couldn’t help but prod at the buggy device. Carefully he extended a finger, attempting to gently tap the screen with his claw. After a moment of observation, the uneducated bruin propped up his chest and crossed his arms. ”Yup, that thing’s broken all right.” he claimed with confidence. ”Oh give me a break, how would you know?” challenged Everett. The Bearmon gave off only a cocky scoff before he paced over to the orange skinned Digimon, looking him up and down. ”Are you okay, bud?” Grae offered a subtle pat on the shoulder, though uncertainty caused it to be a little awkward.
Everett paid attention to what Rich said, raising a brow at his statement. ”Champion? Pft, no problem kiddo. Graedon over here can eat champs for breakfast! Whaddya say we get some payback for ya?” cockily he spoke, his head raised high. Truly, though, Everett was entirely unsure of the situation that was bound to follow. Sure they could evolve to ultimate, they’ve beat up some nasty digimon so far, but what if this one really had grown like Rich was suggesting? Then they would be doomed to becoming this beast’s four-course meal within the next hour. But, in any case, they would never go down without a fight.
OOC Sorry for the delay! Finals week just passed a few days ago :]

Rich pulled his hand away from the bearmon that was investigating his watch. He honestly didn't know what was wrong with the watch or anyone that could fix it. It was one of a kind and was now fused with Rich's arm. He poked at the screen of his watch that was apparently still in safe mode, whatever that meant. He just knew he couldn't take anything out of it or have access to his digivice.
Just as the commotion started to die down, the water behind the duo started to stir with more intensely. The ground started to shake, causing Rich and Leo to turn and face the lake this time, but something was different than last time. The first time they were there, the ground didn't shake this much. Rich fell down to the ground with the small earthquake and covered his head. The horrid monster from the lake finally revealed itself to be a megaseadramon.
The beast towered over Rich and Leo which made it was obvious that the creature had grown since the last time they had seen it. Something still didn't feel right. The megaseadramon was no longer causing the ground to rumble, but it was still rumbling. The water around the megaseadramon was still stirring intensely and causing large waves in the lake. It was apparent that he was not alone in the water, but what would be accompanying the beast like that? In a sudden motion, another beat rose up from the lake. This one was slightly different than the one that had emerged before.
As the ground finally settled down, the two monster digimon stood there as Rich's watch went off. He looked down at the screen as it showed the new digimon's stats. The digimon was known as metalseadramon and it was mega level. If they thought the fight before was hard, it just doubled in difficulty. "Alright. According to the D-terminal, ones ultimate level and the bigger one is mega level. If you two are gonna clear out, you better do it now."
The duo looked at each other and nodded. It was time to digivolve, but without the watch, they would need to make due with whatever forms were available without the digivice. Leo got ready and took a deep breath. "Coronamon digivolve to..." Leo said, as his body glowed a bight orange color. The coronamon dropped down on all fours, but nothing seemed to happen. "Firamon! Lion of the sky!" Leo said, still in his Coronamon form.
"Alright Leo. Enough joking around. We need your higher forms now. I don't know why they are just sitting there, but you need to change asap!" Rich said, pushing the buttons on his watch to get it out of safe mode. Leo tried again, but it ended with the same result. Leo couldn't digivolve past his Coronamon stage.
