Was that what this was about?
Hearing the Renamon try and deflect to the Stingmon of all things, the doctor gave a small chuckle, hearing her spoken frustration. Even the flat tone made sense enough to him, perhaps explained as a feeling of disappointment for seeing this place sold, and left in thin air. The paintings on the wall, the furniture, the medical equipment - all stripped away to leave this place bare, the couch the only reminder of what this place once was.
"Heh. Guess seeing this place go was just the straw that broke the camel's back?" With a soft smile, he gave a small blush, looking away from the fox: "I mean, of course I understand. All the time I spent with you here, meeting everyone else, setting up shop for the first time... its a bit weird to see that all just slip away so casually. But its just a place, right?"
He smiled, the Mikemon giving a toothy grin to his wife: "Life will be wherever we want it to be. And with the freed-up funds, maybe we can get a place just for the two of us. Well, no - three of us." The cat considered that, of course: just a calm future for the three of them. "Just our own place, to get attached to as we grow old... older, together."
Oh, if only the cat knew how far away that fantasy was...

The renamon ran her hand along the wall flicking her ears a few times as she thought about it over... and over... and over again. The fact didn't move that the mikemon had information she absolutely needed and he wasn't willing to part with it. She'd have to play it carefully as he was a very powerful individual with much that he could do, in the limited space here she was restricted to ultimate at best and had only two forms that she could use at that.
One of them being shutmon, a god send in a mix of fighting variables and the Meicrackmon, from what she could tell was very good at close quarters combat. The renamon stared quietly at the mikemon as he seemed to make assumptions on her behalf that this was what 'broke' the back of the renamon's usual demeanor.
"...I suppose yes..."
She'd sigh and slowly shift coming back over to the Mikemon, blinking a little bit as he spoke. About the time they spent here, meeting everyone, setting up shop... and then how this place was just a place. She felt her heart wrench suddenly and the renamon let out a soft but somewhat passionate earnest sigh. She'd kneel just a little bit as he continued on.
How life would be wherever they wanted it to be. That the funds from this place could get them another. For the... three of them. It took a few long moments of the renamon kneeling there and she'd gingerly try to give the Mikemon a hug.
Somewhere deep within her, next to her true core the Renamon stood up. Staring at it and with a scream of such fury, passion and anger did the balance that this mark had over her waiver for just a moment. She had one word at best, one thing that she could say. But it would be after the hug started if the mikemon even allowed her to. Her voice sounded like it was heavy in static, warped beyond belief but the content was undeniable.
"..C...al...um...o.n."
The renamon's body stiffened and the mark sank back in to properly deal with the small break that had occured. The damage itself was done more than likely...

Honestly, Mikemon didn't want to believe anything was wrong. People got up on the wrong side of the bed all the time - and more to the point, this was K he was talking about, one of the most intelligent, thoughtful Digimon that he had the pleasure of knowing. He believed in her, and hearing the first earnest tone from her in a while, the cat gave a smile.
That was what she wanted, all along: stability, knowing that she could properly raise a family with just the three of them. There was no spoken response: the fox simply knelt down, in acceptance, wanting to give her husband a hug. And of course, Mikemon obliged: stepping forward, he wrapped his arms around her shoulders, best as he could manage, nuzzling his muzzle against her own. Mikemon even planted a small kiss against the Renamon's neck, wanting to just get lost in the moment.
... But then, that world came crashing down. The tone in K's expression shifted wildly, Mikemon letting out a gasp as he felt that grip tighten around himself. That alone was enough for concern, but his eyes shot wide open, as that single word echoed out in his ear.
"C... Calumon..."
Had... had K really just said that? Held tight in the Renamon's grip, Mikemon tried to pull himself back, to look face-to-face with the Renamon. "K? K, are you still there?" Panic started to rise in his voice - but even in that condition, the tone wasn't for fear of his own condition!

So the renamon had some fight left in her still? She still had power to do something like that even with all the marks and all the power that the individual that controlled her was capable of? The hug was going to be a way for her to get the mikemon to be relaxed, ready to get a blade through his back and carefully start slicing his data apart but that single word had ruined the moment.
With a frustrated grunt the renamon's grip would tighten and without a word to the mikemon her form was that of the shutmon's almost immediately. She'd let out a small growl and try to keep the mikemon against her body. He wouldn't be able to do anything if she kept him like this. Unfortunately this was as strong as she could go without damaging the building which made it certainly problematic.
"Tch... A slip of control then? Figures."
She'd focus some energy on that mark, making her fur turn that reddish-brown that the wisemon had spoke of. Her icy blue eyes flashed with a hostile intent and if the mikemon didn't do anything she'd start to squeeze trying to keep his arms against his body as she knew what sort of monstrosity he could bring to the table.
"I wanted to avoid this, where I had to resort to violence and the ilk. Subtly isn't really my strong suit but I suppose I can get the information I need from your data."

Well, this had quickly turned terrifying - and his concern over the Renamon quickly turned away perhaps the last chance he had. Without a moment's warning, the tight grip of the Renamon was replaced with the vice-like grip of Shutmon. The feline was taken by surprise, the side of his head pressed tight against the armor on her chest. With a small push, he managed to pry his head up, looking eye-to-eye with the wolf.
A faint glow pierced through his eyes, just as K let out that little slip about control. "Those... two bits of data under your eyes..." Mikemon cursed - why hadn't he checked earlier?! The white fur fell away to a sandy red, the cat gritting his fangs. "You aren't K... you're not the K I know, at least." He swore under his breath, feeling an arm shift around her back, effectively pinning his elbows against his hips.
Then came that last comment. His data: the feline's eyes snapped open. "K, no, listen to me! This isn't you, you wouldn't do this! Fight it... fight it, for yourself! For Syre!" There was a pleading tone in his voice, thrown out as if he was trying to call to someone far away!
"Don't throw away everything we've fought for!"

The shutmon let out a loose chuckle and shifted a little bit; so that her squeezing would be the most comfortable for her. Not so much for the mikemon; the feline wasn't expecting this sudden shift and the bigger digimon gave the cat a somewhat smug grin.
"Gifts from my employer, a strong sense of mind and purpose Love."
He was pinned surely, she couldn't do much in this form. Maybe if she was in the meicrackmon one she could of just sat there draining his data away? But that slow constant pull wouldn't do what she needed it to. With a soft tut she'd continue to apply that pressure to the mikemon.
"I'm every bit of K as she is, as every bit of her as that Feral monster deep inside and as every bit of K as her-"
The next part was drowned out by angry static and the shutmon let out a soft growl. She was about to say something incredibly revealing wasn't she? With a huff she'd lean just a little bit pushing her muzzle against the felines cheek, that grin and those eyes staring deep at him.
"Oh but I am fighting for myself, I am fighting for Syre. Just not you. My employer wouldn't be able to use you, you're too strong. Too willed; but our daughter is a perfect mold for the future isn't she?"
The shutmon would start to drag her claws along the mikemon's back if he didn't do anything.
"Oh I'm not throwing away anything dear husband... For very soon we're going to be very close to one another. You could of avoided this you know, but you had to be.. 'firm'"

Tch... no response at all? That little call to the center of K's core did little but bring that sadistic grin, Shutmon's head nuzzling right against the side of his own. Each threatening word sunk right into his ear: to this presence, he was irrelevant, but Syre might be of use. That very thought disgusted him to the core, but his options were limited. Those nails dragging against his back, though painful, proved one thing:
This Shutmon was playing. Should have the Shutmon wanted, that blade would have already sunk into his side, but instead it was simply clicked into place, menacingly waving a few inches behind him. Mikemon had little recourse here: with no use of his arms and no leverage for his feet, he had to figure out a way out of this grip. If the attack was too weak, this spirit wouldn't hesitate to finish the job straight away.
Mikemon had to act with that assumption. That said, he only had one option: feigning silence, the cat shook his head, as if mulling over a thought. "..."
The next time he opened his fangs to 'speak', however, they were filled with a bright orange light - aimed right at the Shutmon's muzzle, practically from point-blank range! This was Mikemon's 'Fireball' - Terriermon's Blazing Fire! Should that land, he'd push as hard as he could against K's armor, to try and force himself out of those arms!

The mikemon chose silence of all things? That was a strange effect to say the least. K let out a smooth chuckle and continued her trailing of her claws pausing only after a few long moments. Mulling over what she could do; she could load the data here or... Better yet take this mikemon to her employer to have him placed in one of those books! He likely had all sorts of useful information now that the digimon thought about it. She'd tilt her head slightly however when the mikemon shook his head, raising her brows a little bit.
"Oh? Changed your mind?"
The shutmon shifted slightly and would lean back just a bit waiting for the mikemon to 'speak' though rather than that she was greeted by a bright orange light followed immediately by a point blank shot of a fireball! The attack was so sudden and surprising the shutmon grunted and one of her hands shot up to grab at her head as it had been jerked back by the sudden attack.
The shutmon fell backwards from the mix of this and the mikemon's push. Easily letting the other break free from her hold. The shutmon would grunt, rubbing her muzzle furiously. That was really painful, she hated fire on her own and the fact that her fur was thicker than normal meant she was bred for the north.. Not taking fireballs to the face.
"Tch why you little..."

Oh thank Sovereign, that worked! Seeing the Shutmon collapse her hands over her face, Mikemon quickly collected himself back on two feet. He knew that K wouldn't be out of it for long - and he also knew that this Shutmon wasn't going to simply 'play around' if he was caught again! He quickly considered his options:
If he simply bolted out into the street, he'd likely be fine. In the middle of the day, should K try and follow, she'd be quickly hounded and slowed down by the guards, easily giving Mikemon enough time to teleport away. That would work just fine, if not for the fact that the file was still packed away in a box - in this very room!
Digivolving had its own problems: sure, he'd be stronger, but the jump to mega might take too long to stabilize - and K might return her own mega form, and be ready right away to attack. Knowing that, he hinged his bet: with the Shutmon stunned and unlikely to respond, Mikemon prepared a second 'blazing fire' - and this time, turned his head right, igniting a box full of paper files!
K might pick up what he had just done, straight away: the cat started to pull back, trying to put distance between the two of them!

The shutmon was dazed for a few easy moments, long enough to where she couldn't stop the mikemon from doing what he was doing. The fire had certainly messed with her a bit and the digimon let out a grunt when she came out of it.
Only to see the mikemon launch a fireball at the paper files. It took maybe a second or two for the shutmon to realize what the mikemon had done. What he had just did to stop her. The files that he had been packing away, that would of had the information she needed in some regard or another were now toast.
There was this moment of silence, moment of malevolence before she slowly stood up. Her blades switched to attack mode almost immediately as she did so; the Shutmon herself? Well she took a deep breath, something massive and seemed to keep going.. and going.. and going for a few long seconds. She quickly exhaled towards the mikemon even as he tried to put distance between the two of them.
"Breath of the Mausoleum."
From her muzzle spat out a large cone of ice, centering in on the mikemon as he moved. She wasn't the quickest or strongest in a fight most certainly but the moves that she had at her disposal put her as a contender at most ranges. The cieling and floor were quickly frozen even if the mikemon didn't get hit making the areas affected somewhat slippery....
"Yes run, go outside. Give my Examon form something to do"

Thankfully, the file had been nearer the top of the box - even if K wanted to try and salvage it, she likely wouldn't be able to piece too much information out of it. Well, that was the first step: now he had to put up enough distance between himself and the Shutmon, so that he'd be able to open the portal without her being able to follow (or worse, simply steal the use of the portal away from him!).
Unfortunately, that also meant putting himself at a choke: each door and window to this room would be an easy enough target to either pick him off or snap him off. The window behind him was likely the best option - though as soon as he shot a glance over his shoulder, K's spoken word bellowed out. Eyes widening, the cat fell on all fours, and shot himself into a sprint: the ice coated the boxes, destroying some and ruining the contents of others, as Mikemon dove from cover to cover, trying to get a good distance. The ice messed up his movement once or twice - enough for that icy breath to tinge his glove and tail - but he eventually rode out the onslaught, taking cover behind that torn-apart sofa.
"Examon..." He swore. Would K go that far? Well, so long as he stayed out of sight, the Mikemon considered his options - for the moment, using 'Radiated Healing' over his bruised, wounded arms. One surprise hit... all I need...

So she destroyed some of the boxes here, messed up the sofa and even probably destroyed the files she needed or wanted to take a look at. With a snarl she'd slowly start to stalk her way forward; her form hunched and her blades low. This room was barely enough to fit this form, what would of happened if she took something many more times larger than it. At the single word she'd flick her ear and a marvelous smile spread across her face.
"Yes. Examon. You might of heard of the fight to the north I had a few months ago, with Kerrick? I still haven't introduced either of you to one another. But he's strong, strong enough to where I had to use that form against him."
She held out her hand and let out a small barking laugh; still walking forward albeit at a much slower pace.
"I was able to call down a Meteor My dear. A fifty foot meteor by my approximations, and I have a way of making it larger, stronger and more powerful. If you go outside I'll have no choice but to use it and destroy the entire city block. Sure it'll kill everyone here yourself included which just means I'll have to sift through far much more data once I'm done loading the lot of them."
The Shutmon dragged a finger along one of her blades whispering softly as she did so...
"Lightning-Blade."
The cruel crackle of her swords suddenly split the room; her normally gentle energy replaced with a harsher variety. Some kind of mix between her fur color and her natural color making it tinted purple.
"So if you come out like a good boy, maybe I'll just have him put you away rather than loading you myself."

Such a threat... but was she serious? Damn it, Mikemon couldn't tell: he couldn't get more than a glance of her data before, and during this sort of fight, it wasn't as if he'd get a great chance to examine her condition! Keeping his cover behind the couch, healing his arms back to working order, he felt his ears flick as Shutmon's blades clicked into place.
Lightning Blade. So long as Mikemon was in a closed space with K, he wouldn't be able to fight properly: he hated to say it, but all he could do was run, and sacrifice the medicine he had in stock. Rather than respond to her in earnest, the cat drew his crystal orb, set it right over his eye, and looked over the side of the sofa:
Cat Eye's Hypnotism!
The eye glowed, and the sphere magnified it: Mikemon's blinding attack would fill the entire room, not even giving K a chance to look away! Unless she snapped her eyes shut, she'd likely find herself blinded - but in either case, she'd likely only hear the glass that shattered, a few yards right of where the Mikemon was.
The window. He had dove right through it, shattering the glass, making his way right out to the city street - and a few onlookers were already quite startled by that fact!
Make all the distance I can. Turn a corner, portal, vanish! Then I need to hide the Calumon!

K growled in irritation as she stalked forward; this was taking too damn long and the mikemon wasn't giving himself up. She'd spin her blades around a few times and as she drew close to the sofa she had litterally no time to avoid the attack from the Mikemon. Letting a surprised grunt she'd stagger and rapidly wipe her eyes trying to dispell the effect he had started on her.
She could only see white and it wasn't from the rage she could feel boiling up from within. The shattering of glass made the Shutmon freeze and she let out a loose laugh.
"So now we play in my garden do we? FINE HAVE IT YOUR WAY."
Stomping her feet and letting out a roar of anger the Shutmon was engulfed by the white light of digivolution. Her form swelled and pushed against the building. As it continued to grow.. grow.. grow and grow.. and grow.. It broke through the building and sent pieces flying in every which way. Her long massive tail sweeping about and her wings unfolding to darken the immediate sky.
It had taken a lot to jump straight from Shutmon to examon, but there were still a few fleeting moments left before she could see again.. Before she could act properly again. And if the mikemon wasn't in sight, she'd just turn this place into a rotten hellscape. She let out an earth-shattering roar of anger, calling out his name in such a venomous tone that everyone in the city propbably could hear her.
MIKEMON.
Somewhere deep down, Silence jerked it's head and looked at K. Whom also seemed rather... out of it in terms of what to do. It'd gesture at the core which seemed to be flexing it's power much more than the mark could contain. They'd interlock hands and place their heads together. They had just one simple chance at this....

Ooooh, no. No, no no - that wasn't a bluff?
Mikemon had taken a gamble, that the markings that he had observed earlier 'might' not have been able to hold onto K in her mega form - though that hurried theory was obviously being challenged right at this very moment. That office where he had spent the last good part of his life was destroyed in an instant, splinters of wood, metal, and drywall casting themselves out in the city.
The appearance of Examon drew an immediate reaction from the city, everyone fleeing as fast as they could, even trampling over each-other in an effort to get away. That single word roared out over the city, and the feline's heart sunk: one quarter turn was all it took for the dragon to find the doctor, who had simply turned his head to look over his shoulder, for one glance at the monstrosity.
Did he even have a chance? Would he have to give himself up? He was reaching for ideas, curling his left paw around his orb. Would he even have a chance to safely make the portal?
C-c'cmon... fight it, K! Examon's stronger than this!
