Of course it felt wrong - to a Digimon, this existence was contrary to everything that one should have been. But it proceeded regardless, streaming up her arms and legs, replacing her 'bare' frame with one quite powerful, quite durable. The cores remained trapped in the red grip within, but would soon fall back to darkness as the 'shadow' of that frame cast over it. Her new 'shape' was roughly the same - though her posture would be more 'draconic'.
Slowly, she'd start to feel her thoughts melt away, her struggles and protests vanishing - largely against her will. In fact, her new claws and feet seemed to tense on their own, a foreign entity 'testing' her newfound movement. Even as K protested, she was slowly losing her ability to move, to struggle, or to even speak on her own behalf.
To that last protest, the Reaper responded:
You are necessary.
The frame would complete - last around her face, giving her the mask of a D-Reaper agent - before the grip would finally loosen. One of the Paratice Head's discs around the chest opened - and the new form would spill out onto its hand, before being set upon the floor. Guru was nowhere to be seen, and the Paratice Head now walked away... though that voice did not leave her.
This was still an active battlefield. There was still a fight. Examon's core let out a crimson glare from within - and the new body would throw itself on all fours, feeling that impressive form start to take shape.

The renamon's horrid realization and struggling didn't seem to matter very much as the new layer of data streamed up her arms and legs. The powerful and durable layers of data eventually closed off her view to her cores. The posture that she felt her body take reminded her softly of the dragons she had occasionally done business with when she...
When she did what?
The renamon blinked a little bit as she started to feel those thoughts melt away; her arms became more solid. Those protests dying in both her own mind and on her lips. The tensing of her new claws and feet brought a somewhat curious look. She was losing a terrible battle here; one that she doubted she would ever be able to properly come back from.
Her last protest was met with a response that made her stiffen if only briefly as the 'other' was shortly gifted with her body. The mask of the D-reaper agent was like the final nail in the coffin. She vaguely felt the grip loosen, she vaguely felt the new form spill out on the hand.
She barely understood what was going on; her own will apparently wasn't enough to do anything against whatever that.. creature had done to her. The faint rumbles of the Paratice head walking away; the voice staying within her. She felt the drive and desire to continue fighting but not the same group that she had been fighting before.
She felt the Examon core faintly, she felt that new body throw itself down and start to take a mightily impressive form. She felt something however faint; however mighty... sort of edge it's way to question this voice.
"...W-...what... are... you? What... am.. I?"
Like a drowning man she struggled to keep her head above the water. Unable to fight against whatever was piloting her. She instead took the chance to interact more; in a desperate hope to keep some sense of self even as it was fading into mere static as time passed.

It mattered not K's thoughts or words at this point - not at this moment, anyway. The D-Reaper's nest was still under attack, and this Renamon had the means to defend it. The very form that befuddled K gave no answer - though the newfound agent grew massively in height, now properly taking the shape of an Examon... were it a D-Reaper agent. The wings were flush in one tone, and the spear more chaotic in shape, but it was undeniably the knight that K had seen in her dreams.
One that wouldn't hold back. Taking to the skies, the agent moved to reinforce the closest area - the outer lines, where some members of the Dark Area had moved to engage the outer forces of the D-Reaper. It took less than a minute, and the 'threat' to the D-Reaper - as K would have seen it - was clear. Devimon, Myotismon, dark ultimates and champions abound. Attention was soon drawn on the dragon - attacks careening up, dancing right off the Super Mega's frame.
It mattered little. A few beats of Examon's wings turned the land below into a flaming hellscape, panicked screams turning into silence as their dry data scattered quickly in the wind. The dragon peered over the area once more... before proceeding to the next.

It was hard to keep her head above the water, it was even harder to understand what was going on with wave after wave of this terrible creature that had claimed her for their own. No answer was given to her when she asked; inf act she had even forgotten what she had asked to this massive creature the memory and experience lost to the waves.
Examon.
The massive digimon was something that she could only dream of, she was never able to tap into the creatures power like this. It was one of the rocks of her body; something that once had kept her afloat now was threatening others. She was gifted with the visions of what this digimon was doing. What this digimon was partaking in; moving to engage those that still were fighting not terribly far from her. If only she had run towards them perhaps... Perhaps what? She blinked boorishly and clutched her head while the D-reaper swelled and shifted all around her. She felt the small twinges of pain from the attacks; light bites and gentle scrapes were the only thing that seemed to really come from them.
A few beats of their mighty wings turned the land into a flaming hellscape; she got to see digimon of all kinds turn into ashen husks in the flames. She reached out wanting to apologize for... Apologize for her; no their actions. But... what was there to apologize for?
She felt her head sinking beneath the waves, she felt herself succumbing to this creature this being. It was so hard to remember things now, it was hard to think about anything other than what was going on and the absolute need to defend this place. She fell faster than before, deeper and deeper. It was starting to seep in properly now with the host unable to do much of anything against the D-reaper in both physical and mental sense. Without the support of her...
"Where.... to... next...?"

Those words came out as a mere whisper from the agent's fangs, lost to the crackling fire and harsh wind of the burning battlefield. After all, this dragon was an agent - what use did it have for questions, for individual thought, for will? The fact that, even in this form, K had even a small sense of self proved both interesting and gravely dangerous to the D-Reaper...
... But in its current state, that matter would have to be postponed. A powerful 'foe' had started to make their way towards the nest, and without the power of this new agent, perhaps the defenses of the D-Reaper would fall short. K would feel that familiar 'click' in her mind, beating her wings once more to fly towards that crimson light. This time, she'd see that vast field of red underneath, as the dragon traveled towards the center of it all:
A white kernel, floating in the sky. The D-Reaper's own core: the draconic agent would quickly approach, then slowly float towards this white sphere, before carefully bringing itself close: its hands 'cupped' underneath, but dared not to touch, as it brought itself closer. The kernel's top gave a small opening - and with a mere growl of the dragon, a comparatively pathetic creature appeared from its frame:
That of the weak, yellow-furred Renamon. Plucked with a claw, she was dropped into that white core, the entrance sealing behind her likely far before she could get any sense of what was happening. What didn't follow, however, were her cores - those elements of power remained within the agent. All K had was a 'shell' of data, a flimsy core holding everything that 'she' was - could she even be stable outside this space?
Where was she, at all?

The mere whisper was all that she had, all she could attempt. It was dizzying to think about. It was dizzying just to think in general; it was hard to do much of anything other than follow that droning static. But she still while even drowning in this vast sea of the hivemind.. She still somehow managed to keep a tiny and insignificant sense of self. Even without her core's support she was fighting to remember; to know things. To know that this was somehow... wrong? Or maybe she had it all wrong?
No.
K's 'self' managed to pull itself out from the depths as that click just happened. She felt that compulsion to move; to go somewhere, to defend somewhere. Jerky hand movements deep within and gentle prodding were all that she was able to manage at this point. But she was still somehow fighting. She was gifted with a hazy recollection of things that she had done; that they had done together.
The white kernel that her massive form approached seemed so small, so insignificant but it was where the D-reaper held all of ti's power in this area. She could feel that much just from being closer to it. But when she appeared out of the frame of the examon she coughed, gasped and struggled to even stand in the 'palm' of the creature. She couldn't resist that touch, she couldn't resist the massive form of examon as weak as she was.
"Wh.... what...?"
She managed a raspy question before being dropped into that white core. The entrance sealing behind her. She felt so empty, so tired, so vastly inferior than before. She could feel every vestige of herself painfully existing. She hadn't a clue what was going on, even though she had gotten her head out of the water so to speak it's like the Agent just pushed her back down.
She was powerless in comparison to before, absolutely powerless. But that didn't stop her desire, her will to survive. She wanted to just go back home to the eastern timberlands and rest. But she wasn't going to be able to was she? The renamon shakily tried to move within this core uncertain and pleadingly did she speak once more. But the endevour on it's own was exhausting; she could already feel her consciousness slipping from the sudden buckling changest eh D-reaper had forced her to go through.
"Tha.... Without th... them... I..."

Without 'them', what was she?
Right now, all K had was a phantom of a core cobbled together by spare data and the D-Reaper's curiosity. She was now the epitome of the shell, the 'false body' that was once created to house those three cores - but now she lacked both purpose and power, left to pitifully struggle in the pit of this core. In this space, it would seem like a vast, endless white expanse in all directions, even as she felt the curvature of the 'sphere' underneath her legs and hands. Wherever this was, she was trapped - the core itself wouldn't give to what little power she had.
Well. If she would try at all - the D-Reaper was not done 'testing' her limits.
"'Without them', K?"
Somehow, a very familiar voice would perk up in K's ears - and it wouldn't just be the voice. From behind, the arms of a gentle Renamon would slip around, warmly hugging the fox from behind. An approach from anyone else might have made her jump - but the voice and feel was one quite familiar to K herself, that of her late mother in the northern mountains. Her grip was warm and gentle, a stark contrast to that of the D-Reaper's own.
"Forget all that, dear. None of that ever mattered - you weren't a dragon, a knight, a demon. But a delightful, quiet fox we found in the mountains - one we were proud to call our own." Hugging tight around her daughter, the Renamon gave a chuckle. "You've never been them, K."

K stared down at her hands and placed her head against the 'wall' of the core. She felt those tears streaming down her eyes even as the vast endless expanse of white went in every direction. Her form curled and curved to this 'sphere' making it known that she was trapped even in this vast place. She could vaguely feel the power of it and knew that struggling was in vain. But that didn't stop the thoughts of doing so; she simply lacked the energy to do so.
So imagine her surprise when someone else spoke; the gentle voice that she had heard only as a child. She practically froze at the words; the voice made her hurt and made her feel a intense sort of pain throughout her body. She agonizingly turned her head as those arms slipped around her hugging her warmly.
"...Mother..?"
Her tears stopped flowing but her heart ached; she was gifted with the sensations and feelings of meeting her mother again. Meeting the person who had taken her in along with her father bless his kind heart. She looked down at her hands as her mother spoke, words of wisdom and gentle words of re-assurance.
"You're... right. I... I've always been myself even... even without them. How can you be.. here? In.. In this place Mother? I..."
She'd exhale slowly and feel those tears start up in earnest again; but she'd return that hug if able. She wasn't going to lie, she had missed her mother never once able to meet her in the thousand or so years between her youth and now.
"I... what do I do then? If I'm.. not them? Follow my own path as I always have?"

Of course, it wasn't truly her mother - but the D-Reaper held no qualm in such a tactic. Piecing together the memories strewn through her mind, such a presence was made - the ideal 'mother' that K would have known, even more familiar to K than if her own parent had somehow traveled through time and space to meet up with her.
Giving that tender hug from behind, letting K's tired back relax against her own, the fox's ears flickered at that question. "Why wouldn't I be here, when my daughter's struggling? I've never forgotten you." It was perhaps a hint that K was hallucinating, or perhaps the intent was to make her think that this was a spirit talking to her? Allowing K to turn, the Renamon would let K hug around, giving a caring stroke down her 'daughter's' back.
What should she do? The 'mother' considered for a moment, before answering:
"You've been through a tremendous amount, my daughter. But where you are, right here? You have the power to change the world for the better. Open your ears, and listen..."
The last bit of snake oil was sold:
"You'll hear more than just me."

K didn't know the tactics the D-reaper could employ, she didn't know the sort of things it could do. She didn't even really know the name of the thing that she was fighting and inside of that came hundreds if not thousands of mistakes. She hadn't been prepared in the slightest for them and was no where near being able to deal with something like this. So the fact that her ideal mother was presented in front of her; gleaming immaculate and understanding... It was impossible for her to retain that sense of will from earlier; that absolute drive to survive.
She opened and closed her mouth; sighing softly as her mother spoke. She hadn't forgotten her either? She came to her daughter when they were struggling? The renamon blinked slightly and placed a hand to her head trying to process this. If that was the case she... Her mother was really dead but refused to go on?
"I never forgot you either Mother... I... I tried so hard to find you but..."
The gentle stroke down her back along with K pushing her head against her dear 'mother' was enough to perhaps break whatever little spirit the renamon had. In the depths of this hell she had been gifted a chance to talk to her mother. And here she spoke some more; giving her advice of all things.
"My... experiences made me who I am, what I am. But... if I have the power to change the world for the better? Just by... doing that? I'll... I'll..."
She'd perk her head up and give a soft somewhat sad smile. Gingerly hugging her mother. She tried to do what she suggested; she tried to open her ears to listen unsure of what she was going to hear. Or what was going to even happen.
"Thank you mother..."

Was that all it took to break through this Renamon's will? The D-Reaper, of course, had been 'listening' to this entire ordeal, paying attention to every response, every action that the fox made while trapped in their grip. But perhaps that was beyond K's mind right now, as her 'mother' held K in a warm embrace, gently responding to her words.
"You don't need to look any further. And of course, I know you never forgot, K." K, of course, was unwittingly playing into the D-Reaper's hand: every admission showed a weakness in her will, to be so easily deceived by a mere phantom imitation. It was easy to simply 'picture' perfection, and as the Renamon opened her ears to the world, she signed herself up for her fate.
"Thank you... MY daughter..."
Of course, none of this had actually happened. K herself was still collapsed on the floor of the core, enveloped in a tight red light. When she would finally stir awake, she would no longer be her 'old self' - with the D-Reaper's red cable affixed near the back of her neck, she would likely slowly stir awake...
... And observe the battlefield below, through the core. That once-rebellious mind was trapped, leaving but a shell to control. Her experience made her a valuable piece, able to direct the agents at 'her' whim.
Well, not exactly: the actions were hers, but the motive belonged to the D-Reaper itself.

Her will wasn't broken, her strength hadn't really failed her. But the appearance of her mother had certainly disarmed any resistance that she might of given to the D-reaper. She'd sigh softly at the touch of her mother; closing her eyes wistfully.
"It... It would of been hard to keep looking, to... I.."
The renamon wasn't sure what to say to her mother; she wasn't sure how to address this but she simply couldn't really do much more than just open her ears and mind... And listen to the gentle tug of the flow that she was introduced to. She didn't even notice anything was wrong with her mother; even up to the end.
When she awoke she was given that crystal clear idea, the crystal clear cut of the world that the D-reaper saw. The gentle tug and ebb of everything laid bare to her. She'd blink owlishly as though a great veil had been lifted from her eyes. She'd gingerly reach back to feel that cable; the surrounding oneness that it gave her. She had submitted to that oneness without realizing it; but it.. it felt right didn't it?
Tilting her head, she'd observe the battlefield. Biting her lip she'd gesture to places she saw trouble; places that would be problematic. Foes that would struggle and burst if prodded long enough. She felt the edge of this world taken off of her shoulders and dulled to a finite point.
"It's... so simple. L...Look there. That one."

Indeed - how simple it might have been, with such a capable 'mon at the helm. Many years of experience were at the helm for the D-Reaper to tap, and as it stood, the fight in the Dark Area would become a simple farce under her rule. And the longer she stood there, the more she would feel herself slip into this spell.
This was right. This was her purpose.
And soon enough, the world would be reigned back in.
...
"Careful... easy, there."
But that wasn't the reality of it at all, wasn't it? Piercing through another veil - much stronger than the 'spell' the D-Reaper had cast - K would slowly find herself waking up. Here, she had white fur instead of yellow, and the voices of Examon, GraceNovamon, and Jesmon were already but a memory to her. It might take her a minute to catch up, to realize:
None of that had happened. She had fallen to the fangs and woken up from that nightmare, months ago... and had come some hours ago, to Mikemon's clinic, with a bad case of the 'sick-somehow-something'. Right now, the cat was changing the cold towel cast across her head, with a new one.
"Hopefully it will pass by the morning." Wearing a paper mask, the cat gave a smile underneath, giving a small nod to the Renamon. "Just take it easy for once, alright?"

It hurt to really think about; think about anything other than her purpose and what she needed to do for the D-reaper. This fight was easy to her; her experience making it painfully apparent that she was holding back almost the entire time. Her blistering paces something that she wouldn't do normally; she always tried different things and even if they didn't work she'd learn.. adapt... and overcome anything her her way.
She would reign this world in
The renamon's head jerked when she fell out of that rest; the horrid nightmare that made a thousand realities apparent to her. Dizzily would she rub her muzzle panting in exertion as her mental state rapidly caught herself up to actuality. She had fallen to the fangs, she had made her choice; she had fought through time and time again.
Unfocused eyes spiraled out of control and looked about the room in a panicked manner until the cat spoke again. She could feel the cold towel across her head and she'd groan out softly.
"Mi...Mike.. Mon...?"
She'd manage to stammer out; unsure of what she had really experienced. What she really had done; it was so hard to remember sometimes where she had come from or where she had went. And because of whatever that nightmare was... where she was too. It was frustrating and she'd slowly put a hand to her head grunting in pain as she could feel this splitting headache... Her mouth was dry when she spoke again.
"W... what.. ha... happened?"

The sudden jolt that K gave when she woke brought a bit of concern to the Mikemon, carefully resting the back of his hand against the Renamon's bare head. She was still heated, and whatever nightmare she had left the fox quite tense...
... Though, really, nothing was pleasant when she was this sick. Hearing the raspy voice echo out of her throat, the cat gave a sigh, slowly pulling the towel off of her head, to help her sit up. Hopefully, this would help center her from whatever dream she was having. "Don't worry, K. You're just sick with the flu. Just gotta rest for a day or two." As he spoke, he handed K both a water bottle and a couple of pills, giving a nod towards her.
"No need to rush. I know it sucks, but just hang in there, alright?"
It was easy enough to just say that - but how easily would she be able to fall back asleep, after all that?
