Souji nodded at Ooi, she was right debating and disagreeing was fine till someone uses violence to prove their point of view but that something neither of them would do, which was good. Since aside from some not great knife throwing practice Souji did to prepare for his Petermon form, Souji was as tough as marshmallow. "Yeah if anything that will just make the person who uses violence be the loser of the debate, atleast that is what I think." Souji said adding his two cents into this whole thing. Violence was something he truly dedpises, but is sadly something he may to face sooner rather than later he rather not think about that, because for now he needed to think about how he can get himself out of this very big mess he found himself in.
Souji was confused by Ooi phrasing but he wrote it off as a funny comment and chuckled "yeah, most people should think. I mean you do seem pretty harmless, and that is a good thing in my book." Honestly peacful times like tonight spend star gazing and having wonderful conversations was what Souji longed to do, so tonight was a beautiful for him and the fact that he needed to leave to embark on a dangerous quest was worrysome for Souji.
Talking about the state of media mainly Manga from his view as opposed to Ooi's love of books which he wanted to tackle in a future date interested him. "Yeah, I do not know much about books but Shonen Jump is now undergoing an interesting development even though the two shows that trend familiar ground are now really popular there are other unique titles in that magazine that are gaining a steady rise in popularity, so hope for change in that medium is present. I hope things are looking up for novels as well. " he turned to Ooi finally to establish stable eye contact and flash a smile, it was rare for him to meet who he can discuss things like this outside the net. And Yeah they belonged to different type of entertainment but they were close enough for intersection to happen.
His excited expression could be clearly when Ooi made a comment on trying new games, he felt really happy even if some other people might have not reacted to that comment at all. "Oh yeah that would be cool, if you like RPG's you should try the Dragon quest seires it has new releases but they still feel like the classic retro feel or the new mario game. Oh oh there is this franchise called Shim Megami Tensei, if you have the time try it its a really hard RPG and it has the retro feel while still being creative and unique on its on. There is also-" Souji finally maintaining his excitement, turned to Ooi with a sheepish smile on his face. " I am so sorry, it seems like I carried away. I did not mean to ramble on like that." The poor boy could not believe that he found someone willing to talk to him about that without being called childish.
Souji was a nervous mess but the truth had to be revealed there was no other way this could end, Souji continued to play with his fingers his gaze now away from to the girl and into the the solid ground underneath him how could he possibly explain this to her and explain the digital world to her and things might be worse she could possibly hate him and walk away losing what he felt like the begining of a neat friendship. "No......its not that." Souji said as he felt his hands shake, explain a lie is something he never faced before in his life so this was tough for him. "I lied to you about camping, I do not have friends, well I had one but he left tokyo so I guess do not have one. I mean thats beside the point, I was going to a secret world and I was told to not let anyone know so thats why I lied, not thats its right or anything. Anyways there is that, I can explain to you more but I have to show you about the digital world." Finally Souji managed to say the truth, and now he awaited Ooi's response to the truth.

Besides his repeated bouts of awkwardness, Souji seemed to be a fairly mature person; that much was nice! Ooi liked it when she could reason with people without recurring to something as primitive and barbaric as violence. It was true that the only way to make that kind of people (or beings) to listen was by speaking their same language, but... it was just so unrefined.
Maybe engaging into a topic that was so obviously one of Souji's passions had been a bit of a mistake? Because now, the dark-haired teenager was at a bit of a... loss, in all honesty. While she could understand on broad strokes what the guy was talking about, at the same time... she just stared as if Souji had grown another head on that very moment. "That's... a good development, I hope! Seems like things are looking up, to an extent. That's always good to see."
Something that she could understand a bit better were games, however. Those were a bit more of a universal language compared to the intricacies of the written word. "Will have that in mind. RPGs have their charm, even though I'm a bit of a slow player myself, so... it'll take me some time to get through everything; maybe once I'm done with a title, we could discuss it? Just like a book! I think that kinda stuff is enriching."
Of course, as soon as the boy tried to apologize, the immediate response she got from Ooi was a dismissive wave. "No need to be sorry about anything, you know? It's amazing that you're so passionate about something that you're willing to share it so freely. I think that's something admirable, to an extent." As long as your passion wasn't harmful, it wasn't that big of a deal, in all honesty. "In fact, we can talk about games until your frie-"
Welp, talk about a whiplash. To say the least, that confession had been a bit on the unexpected side. "Oh..." She hadn't expected for so many truths to be spewed out so readily and without that much of a warning. Once again, the girl seemed to be at a bit of a loss, even though she recovered her cool soon enough, even going as far as to smile right afterward.
"The Digital World, huh? Well, let's go there, then!" Now, she even seemed to be a little excited. "Are we going to any area in particular, or just wherever the river takes us? Because that's kinda bold... or reckless, depending on your way to see it. We're probably going to be fine, though!"
One thing was for sure; the trip had just gotten way more interesting!

Souji was caught off guard by Ooi's look, it was like she just saw something as weird as lets say a chimera. Souji then realized that not everyone is as intimately familiar with Shonen jump like him. "Oh yeah, its going on a good direction. Hopefully we will see them go back to make shows with quality like they used to." He said thankfully stopping himself from going on a long talk about the manga industry, but today is not the day for such long talk.
Souji was very happy to hear that Ooi would like to discuss with him the RPGs she finishes in the future. "Yeah!!.. I mean ofcourse, I would love to do that." He said rubbing the back of his head as excitement took the best of him, honestly he was very embarrassed at how he yelled just now. "I think video games especially RPGs are a good thing to do that with, since they are so huge we are bound to miss stuff in our first playthrough and we can compare our findings, and some have multiple endings so we could get different endings." Souji said, excited as he looked forward to such talk.
Souji was suprised by. Ooi's reaction it was......honestly nice, yeah sure she was not as invested in the topic like he was, but despite she was willing to listen to him. Which was more than he could even ask for, all his life he was listener as no one from his social circle was interested in what he had to say and those of the lower class either despise him or get close to him for other reason and usually are not his friends. But this conversation felt good, if only it could last longer since Ooi will totally not believe him about the digital world right (?) "Heh yeah, I have spent alot of time playing video games and reading comics. Some people might not find that bad compared to playing sports." Souji said with a soft quite chuckle.
This was it Souji looked away from the girl waiting for her to be angry at his lying and possibly think he is crazy, because of the whole digital world thing. It would be a shame he liked her and everything, too bad they wont be able to hangout anymore. Here it comes...........( wait she knows about the digital world ? ) that was the first thought that came to his head. "WHA- I mean how I mean when ?" Souji was confused to say the least, this day keeps on getting more interesting "wait, hold on there. You know about the digital world and digimon ? Since when ? And how ? Does that mean you have a partner or maybe a spirit weilder like me ?" Souji's reaction was to throw all of his questions at her at the same time.

At least it was a good thing that Souji had realized that the shorter girl wasn't as versed as he was when it came to the Shonen Jump, yet that was ultimately fine. Expecting somebody to be versed regarding a wide variety of topics, even when under the same 'grand' topic, so to say, was a little unrealistic.
"Hope it'll keep improving, then!" That was the only answer she could seriously muster, and while it was said mostly from the ignorance, its intent was genuine. That's what counted, right? Probably!
Talking about games was something she could do, however, provided she had finished those titles! It seemed like a nice activity. "That sounds like an idea! I'll make sure to let you know once I begin any of those titles. Who knows, it could be as early as tomorrow! I always try to discover as many secrets as I can on the first run, but there's always a thing you're left and that prompts to replay it. It's part of the magic, don't you think?"
It was pleasant, talking so freely about it, but... like with any conversation, topics ended and shifted, even though the change was a bit abrupt when the Digital World was mentioned. But, at the same time, a lot more exciting! To an extent, Ooi enjoyed Souji's flabberghasted face as she began to explain her connection to said world. "Yup, I know about the Digital World; since a while, actually! Even though I tend to not go there really often since that's a dangerous place for a lone human, you know? There's a lot of really scary beings down there, and most of them don't have good intentions." She made a small pause, resuming her speech after a sigh. "Partnerless? Unchosen? I don't know what's the formal term, but I'm not related to the Digital World in any way; my best friend is, and that's how I got there in first place. But that's fine; it's not like I mind it too much."
The dark-haired girl stared at the river for a bit. "Why are you going there this late into the night? Any reason in particular? You don't sound like you're really experienced about the whole deal, so please don't mind my curiosity. I'd just love to know about your circumstances."

Souji smiled and nodded at Ooi's statement, she might not know or care much about shonen jump but that magazine means alot to him and he will keep on following it. But there is no need to keep discuss this magazine or its content or any of its possible futures, but a one sided conversation might prove a little unsatisfying honestly, its more fun when the two of them can insert their opinions. And celeberating the agreements and discuss the disagreements is something that was so much appealing to him and thats why he wont continuue rambling about comics.
Besides he was far more interested in the talk of the two of them sharing a video game experience together, it was not something big but it made him genuienly happy. Maybe things will go better for Souji, ever since the bullies threw him into the digital world he has beem meeting nice people some have been rather strange but overall have been really interesting and nice people, its a good thing that the list continued to grow with time. "So you are the type to look for secrets thats always, I do not do that on my first run but I do that on my second run. Thats something that gives RPGs a really uniqe charm a large world to slowly unravel at your own leisure, they also offer some challange to boot. I think its intimidating length that make them so hard to approach for newcomerd, but thats just my opinion" Now that is better while she may not be as knowledgeable about the subject as he was but she could easily keep up with him which was honestly much better.
But that subject was not nearly as important or shocking as the revelation that she knew about this all along, what luck ? Surely things are looking good for Souji, the string of bad luck is now finally over. But enough with that for now, what Ooi had to say eclipses whatever feeling of joy he is having. The digital world is dangerous a fact that Souji chooses to ignore, something he does not want to associate with his safe haven, even though he had trouble before everything worked out like it will continue to, but lone human ? Souji was confused as he listened to her explanation. No partner ? So she was not like Katherine Jasso, nor is she like him and Kyo "Ah I see, that is certainly new to me. I never met someone who both knew about the digital and did not have a digivice. But I am sure if you want you will get a digivice soon Ooi" he said, he sounded like he knew what he was saying but in reality he did not.
Souji stopped for a moment thinking of an eloquent and quick way to explain all of this to her. He took out his digivice from his pocket showing it off to her "you see this is my digivice, this basically identifies me as a spirit user. Which basically means I am partnered with an ancient digimon who allows me to use his power and transform to a digimon myself. But the thing is the spirit does not remember his past at all, so I need to find some totems that can unlock more of his power and hopefully help him remember. But thats a dangerous task, like super dangerous. So I need to find something called a fragment which would make me get temporary stronger and find the totems helping the spirit remember his past. " he paused looking at Ooi for approval, he was not sure if his explanation was good enough. "As for the night stuff, no reason do not think it really matters. Does it matter ? I do not know." Souji then asked worried he might have maid a mistake.

Well, at least the black-haired teenager could say one thing; the two had way different ways to approach games! "Really? I usually try to unlock as much of the secret stuff as I can on my first playthrough; it results on things being way slower, but that's fine, I feel. It's not like I'm in a rush to beat a game, you know? I like exploring as much as I can, and discovering the little secrets the first time feels nice!" In all honesty, Ooi was the type who wanted to play as many titles as possible in a short amount of time; each one was special on their own way, and they deserved their own share of attention.
To savor each secret as it was discovered and taken away. Was there any greater pleasure than that? Probably quite a bit, but the dramatic effect was something nobody would take from her.
"I think it's fine that they're not for everyone, though." She added, a bit of a thoughtful expression gracing her face. "I feel like being invested into something should have its perks, you know? Just like you're with the shonen jump; if any given thing can be easily boarded into, it loses a bit of its charm. But when it needs a bit of effort and dedication? Maybe I'm the only one feeling like this, but I think I prefer to play that kind of games."
Was that being elitist? Or just thinking that easy games were just... boring in the long run? Probably a bit of both, in all honesty. All in all, games and manga seemed to be quite a bit less important in the face of something as expansive and amazing as the Digital World. It was funny that her first remark was about her getting a digivice, something that prompted her to smile with a measure of bittersweetness. "Your concern and sympathy are appreciated, but I don't think that will happen. Most humans who get digivices get them, like, really early on their adventures. I've been through quite a bit already, and nothing at all has appeared so... there's that. But it's not a big deal, I promise. As long as I get to interact with that world, everything is more or less fine."
The short teenager then nodded at her peer showing her his D-Tector. "Yeaup, I know the models. My bestie has the same as yours, except hers is black and pink rather than black and red. Didn't know those so-called 'spirits' had memories on their own, though; that's very interesting! How do your digimon forms look like? I'd like to see them at some point."
She began to understand what was this whole trip about. Getting the spirit forms; she had almost forgotten that's how spirit wielders got their powers. "The beginning of a journey, huh? That sounds pretty interesting! I'm sure my bestie would help you if she were in this place; she's all over the 'showing young spirit users how to properly handle their spirits' and that stuff, even though I'd say she's not very good at it herself!" After laughing a bit at her own remark, Ooi dismissed Souji's concerns with a wave of her hand. "Nah, night is just as good as any time. Do you know where the spirit is, or are you going to explore the Digital World until you find a clue? Because the latter is a bit akin to finding a needle in a haystack; not the most fruitful endeavor. Also, I've kinda learned that... spirits don't really get found unless they want to be found, you know? As far as I'm aware, an obvious clue will appear in front of you when they're ready to be discovered."
After a small pause, she resumed. Currently, she was being kind of a nerd, wasn't she? "But! I could be mistaken; digimon ain't a exact science, you know?" In fact, it was probably the most umpredictable thing ever. "So, wanna travel right now? Maybe I could get my bestie to come; I'm sure she'd be an asset!"

Souji turned to Ooi, she had a totally different approach to games compared to him. It wasn't that he did not want to take his time with RPGs, it was that he knew he would play the game twice so he leaves the thorough exploration of the game for his second playthrough. " Yeah, I tend to enjoy the game on an aesthitic level first, focus on learning more about the characters and story first. After that the game probably should have me hooked by then, and in my second playthrough I try to unlock everything. I also use party members based on if I like both their design and character I do not believe in using the members that are strong but I do not like, same goes for fighting games for me. " If Souji stopped to think about the fact that he is talking to someone he met in real life about video games, he might have been overwhelmed by feelings of joy, but he did not he was too busy enjoying the conversation and living the moment which is a good thing, he needed that. He then was intrigued by her comment, it was something he understood subconciously but he was never able to put it into words. " Yes you are right, if something is easy to get into, it can also mean its something you can lose interest in very quickly. You perfectly described how I felt about the new comics, thats what its bothering me about them." He said excitedly he almost accidentaly steered the conversation back to Shonen jump thankfully that did not happen and he managed to stop himself before going there . "But yes, thats why the niche titles are almost always leagues above the popular stuff. But as always there are some exception." He said before the topic jumped back to the digital world. Souji was a loss of words, he did not know what to say to her. He has never met anyone who is unchosen before, he honestly did not know if that was a bad thing in the first place, maybe having a digivice was akin to being cursed. Probably not, he then smiled at Ooi "thats good, its a fascinating world filled with alot of interesting people. The fact that we get to experience it is something truly amazing, we are lucky people Ooi." He said with a carefree and relaxed smile on his face, Souji was happy to be "Chosen" because that will give his life a meaning, something to control and something he could do and enjoy outside of him secretly practicing his draftsmanship and the arts. Maybe this time he won't be under oppressive figures like his parents, was he an arrogant sheltered child who knew not of the struggels of the every man ? Yes, but that does not mean it should stay that way, he wanted to learn the struggles of the people in the lower classes and learn their stories and learn more about the world around him, he knew there was more to the world than material things. The digital world seemed like the perfect place for that. "Wait your best friend has the sae type of digivice like me ? Thats awesome, I would love to meet her and possibly learn from her how all this works." While he had someone teach him the basics of spirit evolution, that person's sadly could only teach him the basics, so he had hoped maybe Ooi's friend knows more about spirits so she can teach him. " Oh yeah, I would love to show my tranforsmation. So far I only have one, but when we get to the digital world I will show you it." Souji said, a little excited to show off his powers later. "Yeah, I just hope I can avoid danger and help my friend. But he told me that danger will be unavoidable eventually, that got me kind of worried. But I think I am ready. Oh thats interesting, she sounds awesome helping others is a really good thing. " he said before getting confused by Ooi next statement "oh really ? What makes you think she is not good ? " Souji asked.
"Yeah about that, the spirit told me how big the world really is and searching the whole world for the totems is insane, so he narrowed down our search. But honestly that just made it worse, he found out that the fragment and a totem are in a place called the Dark area. If you do not know the Dark area is one of the most dangerous locations in the digital world, which makes this journey harder than it already was." Souji said with a concerned voice, this world was much more dangerous than he had hoped for. But with that concern came a little rush ? Souji was excited a difficult task that can bring the best in him is something he secretly wanted for a long time. Now he got it.
"Oh yeah, I would love for you to join me. And uh yeah call your friend, the more the merrier. But if she cant come thats ok too, do not want to annoy her or anything." Souji said with a smile on his face. "By the way, whats her name ? " Souji asked, kind of excited to meet her.

Both approaches were nice and all, Ooi seeing that Souji had a pretty strong aesthetic sense, and that was something very good when appreciating games. In all honesty? The black-haired girl was more drawn towards the adventuring aspect, but that was fine too; in a sense, it was very fulfilling that people with different tastes could approach a game on their own way and with their own goals, and both get a measure of satisfaction out of it. That was the mark of a good design, undoubtedly!
Color her surprised at him agreeing with her lukewarm elitist regarding games and... manga, apparently. "I like things having their measure of hidden complexity. It also prunes the fandom from a good deal of would-be noxious elements. I swear that some mainstream things really do become a cesspool due to some people taking it a little too seriously. It would do them well to remember that, at the end of the end, mangas and games are just... a niche hobby."
Enough of that, however; the Digital World was a more than amazing topic, and probably one that deserved their undivided attention. Least to say, she supported the boy's outlook of that world wholeheartedly. "Never said I wasn't lucky." Pointing her statement with a small shrug, she smiled. Sides, she'd eventually get to see how Souji's forms looked; that was always an interesting process!
"Yup. Bestie's a veteran when it comes to Digital World matters! She's been going there for... almost a year, maybe? I'm not so sure! But she has unlocked the majority of her evolutions, as far as I'm aware... I think?" Really, Ooi wasn't the wisest person regarding this, but at least she tried!
That sentence led her to the next question, even if that had been more or less rambling on her part. "Because using 'em stresses her out, yet she insists on using them anyway. It's weird, but I can see that being necessary more often than not." There was a measure of fondness in her tone each time Ooi referred to her friend, that was for sure. "She's the type to lead by example, even though she doesn't necessarily follow that example herself when that results on her productivity dipping. I guess she's a workaholic, in a sense? I wish she could take better care of herself at times."
Luckily, the boy had a good idea on where the search for the next spirit totem; The Dark Area. Mentioning that name brought a smile to her face. "If it's in the Dark Area, you probably couldn't have gotten anybody better for the job! By now, we probably know that place better than any other outsider who has been there. It's true that it's dangerous, but that's where half of the fun is, right?"
Said and done, the girl brought out her phone and began to write a text, sending it as soon as she finished writing it. "Her name? Oh, whoops." Just now, Ooi realized she had just called her 'her best friend' or 'bestie'. "Her name's Amelie, and should be coming in..."
Ten seconds or so later, a car was parking not really far from them; the driver's door opened, revealing a rather tall brown-haired girl, currently donning mostly casual, yet comfortable clothes. "Right now? There she is!"
"Heeey~!" She called out while waving, a bit of an amused smile tugging at her face. "Are you getting in?"
That had been fast!

Souji could not help but nod in agreement with Ooi's statement, while who might hear him might mistake him for an elitist snob, but he just had searched for what makes some niche stories be leagues above the mainstream and popular titlels and the thing its something unique to every title, its soul or rather the soul of the creator. "Yes, its just a hobby. No need to get angry discuss them like alot of people do. Especially those who try to prove which seires is better, that always devolves into a competition to see who can find more flaws in the other sides title, which is often counter productive if you ask me. " Souji added to this whole topic, but that is not important right now, atleast not when compared to the talk about the digital world.
Souji smiled at Ooi as he listened to her talking about her best friend, such an optimistic air about her. She seems to like her friend, such talk made him quite honestly jealous of Ooi. Having a bestfriend must feel real good, someone with no familial tie to you yet love you like you are family, honestly it began to seem like a distant fairy tale to Souji, a lie that does not exsist. But maybe just maybe he was wrong, as Ooi seemed to have that type of connection with Amy. "Oh wow, Amy sounds amazing. A whole year !? She must have alot of experience. I cant wait to meet her. " Souji said excitedly, a delicate yet delightful smile painted his face. It was always nice to meet more people, that might become possible friends.
He then listened to something that caught his attention, using the transformations stress her out ? Now thats something he could relate with. "Ah, yeah that makes sense. I only have the most basic transformation and it stressed me out, besides its kinda hard having someone living in your subconcious you know. But its not all bad, I might get used to it after a while. " he said as he started to look at his device, to think such a small thing could permantely change his life. It was almost funny, but so far he was happy with these changes. "Woah, the more you talk about her the more excited I am to meet her. She sounds like a really cool person, I cant wait to see her. " he said playing with the device he held with his hands.
Souji's eye widened as he heard that Ooi and her friend were really experinced with the dark, he was overjoyed with such news truly his fortune has flipped around recently. "Really ? Thats amazing, I was so worried about that I did not know what to do. Thats great, I will be honored if you guys can lend me your help. " he said as he was obviously overjoyed with such news, he excitedly waited for the girls arrival.
"Amelie.....thats a foreign sounding name ? I never met someone that was not japanese before, not that their nationality changes anything. " he said kinda panicked, worried he might have said something wrong. And before he could make his point, who shows up but Amelie herself.
In a luxurious car nonetheless, the driver seat's door opens and reveals her rather tall figure, he couldnt tell because she was sitting but she could be even taller than him, which would be rather suprising. He turned towards Ooi, he was clearly confused, he then turned towards Amelie. "Uh, hi. So you are Miss Amelie, nice to meet you." He bowed his head as a show of respect, before introducing himself as "My name is Souji Himura. And um sure" he said as he picked up his bag and heading for the back seat, since he figured Ooi would sit infront. After getting in, he started the conversation in a rather strange twist of fate, usually he is too shy to talk. "Umm, so Ooi told me that you not only know about digimon but you are also an experienced spirit user, thats pretty cool. " he said before quickly remebering something far more important. "Where are we headed ? Since we can access the digital world via the train station. Or are we going someplace else now ? " He said as he remembered that it was the better alternative to the stinky river.

If Ooi could do something, and enjoyed doing that something, that was bragging about her bestie! "Yup! And she's really nice to boot! I'm sure she'll enjoy meeting you too. You're a good guy."
Even though, in all honesty... she didn't understand all the details and nuances of spirit evolution. But... at the very least, it wasn't hard to say that transforming into an eldritch monstrosity had its side effects on any human being's body... and mind, probably. "She can go up to... I think she calls it Perfect level? It's supposed to be the third highest level or something, as far as I know. Not an expert and I don't care all that much, but some of it sticks to you after a while of hearing her repeat the same concepts to newbies. She's a really charitable soul at times!"
Nodding energetically at the notion of the two of them being more acquainted with the Dark Area than the average digidestined, it seemed that'd come in handy for this small quest. "Yup! Amy's actually... building a city in the Dark Area, even though I don't go there as frequently because it's a bit dangerous to me. You know, being a human without powers isn't as convenient when that place's so dangerous. And don't worry; you don't have to be as thankful; each time one of the good guys becomes stronger, everyone wins. Amirite?"
It was kinda funny that Souji had been kinda slow regarding her name being foreign, that was fine. Hadn't he used her nickname just moments ago? Welp! "Yup, she's one of those croissant lovers from France. But don't worry; she's somewhat fluent at Japanese, so it'll be fine!"
How could that be something that was wrong? No way to know, at least for her.
What mattered now was that Amelie had gotten to where they were, and that they were almost ready to go! Understandably, Ooi just entered the car through the passenger's seat. She could definitely skip the formalities.
Amelie, on her stead, just extended her hand, not needing something as formal as bowing in her life. "Pleased to meet you, Souji! Wanna hop in? I think that we have a long night ahead of us, so we'd better get going, right?"
Said and done, when everyone was already on board the car, the engine got running again. The vehicle would begin traversing Shibuya's streets as Souji voiced his concerns regarding where they were going. Guess that her shorter friend hadn't lied when texting that he was as green as he could be. "Thanks! I gotta say that amassing any amount of experience can be pretty harsh at times, but the Digital World is a nice place. You've been there before, right?"
That'd make things a little easier, for sure! "Well, I just got out from something relatively important and I'm starving, so we'll go to a nearby WacDoland's, get some food on the drive-through and then head to the Digital World. Using the car, if there was any doubt about it; this baby can get us to any place in either world in a blink of an eye. Amazing, ain't it?"
For now, however, it was time to pick up dinner! By now, Amy's car was comfortably in the queue; their turn would arrive shortly. "Any of you wants anything? This place's food ain't great, but it beats waiting half an hour in order to get a decent meal, especially if we're in a hurry. Feel free to order anything; it's on me."
It wasn't a very generous offering since burgers here tended to be cheap, but the thought was what counted, right?

Souji was suprised by Ooi's word, saying he was a good guy. Now deep down Souji thought that might have been a general praise but he could not help himself from being really happy abour it, his cheek got very reddish as he rubbed the back of his head and nervously said "uh-um......thanks, I think you are good person as well Ooi" he barely managed to say, although he immediately regreted that decision as he felt that was not the correct response and unlike texting he did not have all the time to think about what he should say. But hopefully that was not a bad choice of words.
She then used terminology he was somewhat good with, the perfect level was "oh yeah perfect, wow thats really advanced. I am in the uhh rookie level which is like the really early stage, but my form is still verstaile and all that. I think I can avoid fighting using the skills giving to me in that form, but my spirit urges me to drop that attitude cause he thinks fighting lots of foes will be inivetiable. I sure hope he is wrong, but my gut feeling tell me he is not." Oh yeah Souji now remembered why being a spirit users was not all fun the mortal danger he will need to put himself through, will atleast he wont have to endure a completely ancient creature slowly trying to chip away at his sanity oh wait, he kinda does have to deal with that.
The next thing he heard was quite shocking to him, build a city ? That sounds incredibily cool yet also very bizarre to be honest, he was really curious if anything "woah that sounds pretty cool, but how is she going to build a city ? She must be very resouceful to do that. And I guess you are right, if I manage to get stronger I am absloutely going to find some good use of the power the spirit said I will have." Souji said a bit confident in his decision to help others, but he shouldn't be ahead of himself, he needs help now to be able to provide help later.
"So she is french ? Thats really interesting, I have always loved france. It always looked like a vibrant country, I wonder what it will be like to go to Paris." Souji said, he never really thought about leaving Japan before. While his parent left out for multiple reasons, he stayed home with a humble maid, who taught him all the good values that a parent should have teached him, and thus Souji came to care for this more than his own mother.
But then Amy arrived, and as Souji bowed to her she opted for the much more informal option of a handshake, he then shook her hand and nodded his head as he agreed with her and hopped in the back, this was gonna be a night that will longer and easily more amusing than he had initially planned.
Souji nodded he shared the same sentiment about the digital world, even though he did not have nearly as much experience about the digital world as Amy did. "Yeah I have, once actually. Even though the way I got there was...... lets say not satisfiying, I am still happy I did end up there, its been so much fun so far. Also a little bizarre, but learning more about that world will be an interesting thing. " Souji said, he honestly felt conflicted about the digital world, part of him was kinda scared but the other world wanted to go there and after alot of thinking he decided to go, hopefully nothing happens that will make him regret his choice.
Souji was totally flabbergasted at Amy's new statement, was this car as cool as the batmobile ? "Woah! Wait a second what do you mean this car can take us to the digital world ? Like teleport us there ? Wow thats amazing! Where did you get a car like this ?" Souji asked as he was rightfully amazed, this night is defienitly more amazing than he had hoped and that was promising.
Souji then was not used to have someone pay for his food, he was used to be able to buy anything he asked for from his parents but he was not ready for someone else to pay for him. And while realisticly this was not going to cost alot, the gesture was still very apperciated. "Thanks, I will like a-" Souji then remembered how hungry he really was "a big Wac, large coke and fries please." Souji asked, he knew that may not be a classy and elegant pick, but who cares about that when the hunger is real ?
The group waited for their food to show up and Souji remembered something really important. "Oh guys, I almost forgot something. I was originally going to use the train in order to reach Terminus first, I have a digimon friend waiting for me there. She is really knowledgeable about the world and she said that she is willing to help me when it comes to searching for the totems, can we go pick her up in terminus ?" Souji asked, he had hoped his request wasn't too much.

Flattery was something everyone appreciated to an extent, and Ooi wasn't an exception for sure! She smiled at the compliment. "Thanks! I'm glad you think so."
Overall, discussing digimon things wasn't the girl's forte, but at least she could say she had a decent grasp on some of the most common terms, like how levels were named, of course! "That's a bit to be expected; you sound like you're a bit new on the whole digimon stuff." After all, only a newbie would consider getting in by using the river. "I'm sure you'll get a fair bit of your forms on the oncoming months, though! You look like the kind of guy who takes this stuff seriously."
Yet, in all honesty... she could value how Souji had carried himself in fights thus far. "While a confrontation where you can't run away will happen sooner or later, avoiding them as much as you can for as long as you want is a valid strategy in my eyes. There are some people who say you can brute force through everything, and while that may be true, I think that the most efficient method to solve most issues isn't that. But I digress."
If there was one thing she was proud about, that was Amelie's idealism! Her efforts at building a city being praised were something she always appreciated, mostly because the black-haired girl knew the number of hardships her friend had gone through to reach the point where she is now. "I guess you can say she's a bit ambitious, and that she had the drive to succeed." She made a small pause, before switching to the next topic. "But I really think that once you get power, putting it to some kind of use is the best you can do with it, you know? Being related to digimon in any way is a pretty big responsibility most people overlook. It's a bit sad, at times."
Once again, she nodded at the question about her friend's nationality. "Never been out of Japan myself, even though I'd like to travel abroad at some point. Maybe after I graduate? That'd be nice, even though I'm focusing on saving up; I know that Amy's folks have a fair bit of money, but she takes her studies seriously so she seldom travels, too. Having responsibilities can suck at times."
Of course, she laughed not a second after finishing that sentence. Responsibilities were also what gave life spice, in a sense; freedom to do anything seldom ended well, as far as she was concerned.
But it wasn't like... that was important at the moment, or something! Once everyone was inside the car, the trio was well on their way to the nearest WacDoland's. "First-timers tend to be rather... interesting, but as long as you survived your first time, I'm sure your adventures will span a fair bit of time! Once you get used to the world, it's not that bad, in my opinion."
Was she gonna tell the tale of her first time in a foreign world? Proooobably not right now; maybe later! For now, boasting about her car seemed to be more entertaining! "Yup, just as you heard. How it does that, you ask? Well... let's say that this guy's cost was fair bit of money. Specs weren't going to pay themselves, after all!"
A good-natured snicker ensured. He probably wanted more details. "The workshop is in Rustport, if you want to go there someday; but, just like I said, it ain't cheap. So you'll have to save up first!"
Said and done, the car exited from the drive-through with at two BigWacs one double cheeseburger and enough cola and fries to make any cardiologist shudder. Before they got to the Digital World, of course, the brunette proceeded to proverbially nom on her stuff. Driving on an empty stomach was one of the most awful feelings, after all!
"Sure. We can get to Terminus in the blink of an eye, pick your friend, then go to the Dark Area. No issue." She said in between mouthfuls of cheeseburger and sips of her cup. "Just tell me when you're all ready and we'll move out; no hurry!"
For somebody who was eating like her life depended on it, that seemed awfully hypocritical, but she was just that hungry! Not much else to say, though; as soon as everyone was finished, the car would get to a place secluded enough, and after the portal was opened, would proceed to warp directly to Terminus! [Exit]
