God... Why did her heart have to hurt telling Titania this? Tawna could tell the fae was trying her best to understand what was just said... and hey, she couldn't blame her. It was bizarre and almost impossible for her to imagine as well... but this was the life she was living in, and a life that Haru was being forced into. "I know. Its... hard to believe, but... I just know its her." she spoke, shaking her head.
... Mae's little sentence felt like a knife stabbed into her core. The Hunter was ABSOLUTELY one of the reasons why their species had such a dark reputation... She was no different either though. The way Tawna seemed to get woozy signified that it was a topic she was not terribly comfortable with, for it was very true. "I feel in a way we all share the same primal instinct for evil, but the truly strong are those who learn to deny their evil nature." she solemnly spoke, giving Mae a soft nod. "If it makes you feel better, karma has had its way with her... At least I hope."
Haru had not a clue as to perhaps how awkward this situation was for Mikemon... or at least this dream version of Mikemon according to her head. She saw all of this merely as a long dream, and her mind was rather empty at the moment. All her lil' head was able to focus on was finally at least have someone to talk to.
... It WAS a dream, right? Mikemon was a acting a tad weird... noticeably so. What did he not want to do? The Nyaromon tilted her body slightly as the calico cat worked on getting a mirror, showing it to her.
She looked like a Nyaromon... A Nyaromon with bright blue eyes. She figured she looked like a Digimon (and a small one at that), and the doctor would feel velvet-y fur... and Haru her own fur scratched.
Wait... What?
Haru went silent, her eyes widened at the doctor... before she tried something else. She couldn't pinch herself, but she could bite her tongue! And so... she did! Hard. Appropriately, she flinched as she let out a small squeak... Ow! She tasted... blood. Her teeth were way sharper than she had anticipated!
She gazed at Mikemon once more... a look of confusion on the In-Training's face.

That was likely something only the partner of a tamer could tell. Being one herself? It made sense to Titania. "...Were I anything other than what I am now, I'd not believe you. But...I believe you. Haru had a strong will nonetheless. I doubt it...wouldn't be her." Did that sentence really make sense? Titania felt like it didn't.
Meanwhile, one knife was traded for a zweihander. Figuratively. Tawna had a point. Mae had an instinct to hurt things. An instinct for evil. A hunger that could never be sated no matter how much she tried to hold it back.
Yet had she acted on those while here?
Nope.
"...I wanna say everyone's capable of doing as much good as they are evil. I dunno if any of that's true. And...that does make me feel a little better...Kind of..." Wow, that's one uncomfortable cat.

It seemed the touch wasn't enough to convince her, so the Nyaromon did what Mikemon thought she might do - bite herself!
Of course, this didn't prove to be the best idea, Haru almost immediately regretting the action as she did it! Mikemon's eyes widened with a start as Haru yelped in pain, carefully moving a hand down to cup around the bottom of the Nyaromon's jaw. His own healing energy began to radiate over that space, the doctor giving a sigh. She had confirmed it herself: this wasn't a dream.
"I'm going to be honest, we have a lot to talk about." Mikemon kept his smile, but his tone became a bit more level - though there was still more warmth to it. "Before that, though... let's try something that might save us a lot of trouble." He could tell just by a glance - Haru's form was absolutely flush with energy. Champion was probably pushing it, but she certainly had the energy to try and reach rookie!
But... how could he describe how to Digivvolve? Thinking it over, he gave a nod: "Alright, close your eyes, and picture a white 'dot'. If you have that... clench your eyes shut, and focus on it. Focus your thinking on making that dot as bright as you can, putting as much 'light' as you can into it. Think hot, think bright, and think... well."
He stopped there: "When you see the image? Think of being that."

It was comforting for Tawna to hear Titania believe her... She sometimes had a hard time believing in herself right now frankly. The maine coone smiled more genuinely as she gently nodded at the Tinkermon. "... Knowing her, she will try to find a way to make the best of this, and she will want to see you and Naoko again. I don't know when she'll be ready... but we all need to take little steps."
Tawna somewhat got the feeling that Mae was either a bit younger than her or less experienced in the Digital World... but not naive to its evils. Sometimes those evils were internal... Tawna was still working to cleanse her own even now. "Those are wise words to follow by, Mae. I do not hide that perhaps to some, I may be considered evil. I am wrathful, selfish, and gluttonous... but my tamer believed wholeheartedly that anyone can be a good person if they just try. In the end, I believe we all are masters of our own destinies... less we allow ourselves to be chained and locked away." the Meicoomon mused, for a moment a bit wistful about happier memories... memories formed in the past half year or so. "Tell me... Is this the only higher level form you possess? Pardon for being curious, but I... I admittingly have not talked with another Meicoomon in a while. A friendly one at least."
Haru's mind was somewhat at a blank... She frankly was in shock if anything, the feeling of pain dulled away even before Mikemon healed the tiny self-inflicted wound. She was just... not even sure what to think. She TRIED moving her arms... but there was nothing to move. She really was just a ball with a tail... A surreal experience realizing that this was real life and not the dream she thought she had been experiencing.
If it weren't for Mikemon's calm, but encouraging words; Haru would have been trapped in thought for who knows how long... but she listened to the doctor's words, eventually trying to parrot the described process. Her breathing was a bit funny, but she shut her eyes as she tried to clear her head...
A void. A void with dots, but most fainter than others... The only one she could practically even glimpse was tiny and petite still, but it existed. For a moment, she felt that warmth and light that Mikemon was instructing her to do... She couldn't see beyond the light though! Y-Yet... her body eased into it.
This process in real-time would only actually take about a dozen seconds, but it was clear to Mikemon that it was a success as the light of Digivolution enveloped Haru again... and while given, it wasn't too much of a growth spurt compared to most In-Trainings evolving into Rookies; it was still a Digivolution.
It would have been quickly apparent that the resulting form was a Salamon... but their coat was a dull gray rather than they creamy-white/yellow of the standard breed. More interestingly was the holy ring having been completely replaced by a steel collar with a cross bauble... and when Haru finally opened her eyes, blue sclera with the very same cross-shaped pupils of a Meicoomon gazed into Mikemon with confusion. "D-Did I really do that?" the puppy exclaimed, the experience far too unreal for her to fully process, though now more than anything... she wanted answers. "... Mikemon? What the hell happened?"

"I figured as much. But...Naoko needs to be ready for that too. I don't know when she'll be--heck, I don't even know how she's holding up right now, exactly." The fairy fell silent afterwards, seeming to have little more, if any, to say. At least she had her friends close.
Mae, meanwhile, listened closely to Tawna's words. "You don't...look evil though. Or smell evil...You just...smell like me." There were differences, though...SO much data...Maybe there was weight to her words. "...I think I see what you mean, though." The cat continued. "I don't...I don't want to be chained to my destiny. I-I mean....Heck, I don't think I'm supposed to be. Why else do I see stuff that's going to happen?"
Sounded like Rasielmon's shtick.
"This is the highest form I have. I have an attack that...mutates it a little bit but nothing else that could be considered monumentally form-changing..."

Hopefully this works...
Honestly, if Haru didn't manage to Digivolve now, it wasn't really a big deal - it just meant that her developmental period as an in-training would have to have an honest run. But if they could skip that step, it would go a long way in helping to re-introduce the soon-to-be Meicoomon back into the Library. For those few seconds, the doctor looked on in silence...
... And with a flash of light, Haru managed to make her 'leap' to rookie! The Salamon's appearance was, of course, a bit different than Tawna's own - earning a brief blink from the doctor - but it wasn't enough outside the range for Mikemon to be worried! "Heh, somehow! Good thing, too." Having Haru in a crib for much longer was just going to seem weird. On that note, the doctor would flip open a lock, opening up the front of that wooden 'cage' to allow the Salamon to step down, at her own pace. But, of course...
... That inevitable question. With a deep breath, Mikemon shook his head: "Well... your expedition to the desert took a turn for the worst, I'm afraid." He kept his voice soft, Mikemon crouching down, resting his arms on his knees as he started to explain. "I'm not surprised you don't remember most of it, but Tawna and you had gotten into a fight with another Meicoomon - one that managed to get the drop on you from behind."
He gave a pause... not exactly sure how to word it from there.
"We... salvaged what we could."

"She's related to Haru. I'd be surprised if she doesn't jump back. Humans are a resillient bunch... Its what makes them so special." Tawna smiled, trying to comfort Titania. Those Toriyas... Sure she had only met the sisters, but she could tell they were a hardy bunch. "Don't give up on the future Titania. There are still good ones out there."
Mae was definitely far quieter and reserved than past Meicoomon... wise and understanding though. She didn't know if you could smell evil, but they clearly seemed to trust her. "Listen, Mae... I have done bad things. Terrible, possibly irredeemable things to some. I can't say I will ever be truly pardoned, but I strive to be the person my tamer believed I could be." she quietly spoke, though raised an eyebrow at that last little mention.
They could see the future? Tawna was not oblivious that different members of the same species could exihibit different abilities, but that was certainly unusual. That was a trait of Rasielmon, no? "... Tell me, Mae. What kind of things do you see? Ill omens...? Wishful thoughts?" the elder Meicoomon asked, their interest piqued.
Haru's heart (did she even have one now...) was racing right now; the feeling of Digivolution offering a sense of power and comfort even amidst this horrid headache she was experiencing right now. She daintily managed to step out of the crib, though the skeptical look she was giving Mikemon... it was a first.
Expedition? Wait... Desert? She tilted her head in confusion, her mind barely able to process what was being said. Of course she didn't remember; wasn't that what she was trying to get at?! And... he was implying that she died?
That was why she was like... this?
The Salamon paused, her mind practically racing as time almost felt like it was slowed down for her. That skeptical look was directed to Mikemon... soon replaced by a shiver that went down the pup's spine. "Y-Your lying." she quietly murmurred, her eyes dilating in fear. "H-Humans don't come back. W-We only get one life. Period."
... Th-Then... was she really Haru? Terror seemed to strike itself in their core, paranoia taking over as she stared at Mikemon. "... Doctor? W-who am I really?" she spoke... her tone more of a demand now.

"There's so much that they're capable of..." Titania mused. "...You're right. Just because someone stumbles, loses their way, doesn't mean they're lost forever." That was all the fairy had to add. A witty quote that sounded like it came out of a movie.
Mae shrugged. "Apparently I'm a blight upon the world. My existence invites suffering." The cat fell silent, briefly. "...Do you think any of us deserve pardon, then?" Another pause had the Meicoomon fidgeting. This was the first time she had ever mentioned those visions to anyone. Ironically...
She did see that question coming. She didn't know how to respond to it, still. What do you see?
"I see omens. Things about to happen. I hear people. I heard your question. The one you asked just now. It's...difficult to make things out unless I put some focus on them." Yet if she actually tried making use of this? The little that she could see became unreadable. Very quickly.

Mikemon could tell, almost at an instant, that he'd made a mistake.
The tenseness in the Salamon's stance and her muscles, and the look of sheer shock in Haru's eyes spoke the whole tale. Right away, she spiraled into denial: this couldn't be real, right? She couldn't have died, she couldn't be a Salamon - so, logically, she couldn't be Haru, right? But even that couldn't make perfect sense, and it only built up further in the puppy's mind - the girl practically barking for answers.
Damn it - all the cat knew to do was oblige! "Y... you're Haru." Mikemon managed to say that point, confidently enough. "Your thoughts, your consciousness, your feelings are your own. But you're also a Digimon - built from both Tawna's data, and from..."
From?
"... From the data of the Meicoomon that loaded you." He clenched his fangs, fists balled up as he stated that last part. This couldn't be easy to hear, but Haru had to know it all at some point. Perhaps, the sooner she did, the sooner she could cope?
Just what could go wrong with just a Salamon, anyway?

"I don't think it will be easy, but when is life ever easy?" Tawna mused towards Titania... Hopefully she and Naoko will reconcile with time.
Mae was a strange creature, thats for sure... Tawna could tell that they were a broken bird with the way they were acting... A sea of self-doubt and lies, not all of which were their own. "Only a fool believes in garbage like that. Any Digimon is capable of becoming a scourge. Its not limited to just Meicoomon." the Meicoomon quietly spoke as she closed her eyes, shaking her head in response to the second question. "You know, I don't know. Haru believed in the best in anyone, and she is the best person I've ever known... so I'd have to go with her instinct. Anyone can be good, just as they can be evil... I think the question you should be asking is what do you want to be?"
Hmm. So they DID have a sense of future sight... Not sharp or keen, but an interesting skill nonetheless. Not even she could do that just on her own! "... Hmm. Thats honestly interesting, as that is not something I can do myself... Not in this form at least. However, it might be a sign of what will come later in your evolution." the feline spoke as she briefly gazed into Mae's eyes. "The angelic Digimon, Rasielmon; an angelic Digimon regarded as an all-knowing being. Future sight is among their abilities... so it might be possible that this is an ability that is showing up earlier than normal... Least if I had to take a guess."
Haru was unsure if at this point she could trust in the doctor's words... She wanted to trust him, but... but was she even Haru? He was saying she was Haru, but how did she know she could trust him? "Th-That doesn't make sense... If I died, there shouldn't be a way to come back! H-Humans don't just become Digimon normally!" the Salamon tried to rationalize, her mind trying to grasp at any and every straw it could get its mitts on. "How do you know I'm her then?! What if I'm just that Meicoomon with Haru's memories?!"
Who was she? Was she actually Haru, or just some cheap imitation of something that died? Tears started to well up in the Salamon's eyes as she backed up from Mikemon... a betrayed look on her face. "Who did this to me?" she spoke with a tone that was equally pitiful.. but venomous. Suddenly, Haru devolved to shrieking "Who DID this to me?!"
Before even she could realize... Fear took hold. She wouldn't even realize what was happening before once again, her form was enveloped with the light of Digivolution... and sure enough, just as Mikemon predicted; a Meicoomon with blue eyes stood defensively as they backed away from Mikemon, tears in their eyes... Before suddenly barreling past him with surprising speed.
It wasn't an attack, but it was clear that from the way she was moving... she was running for her dear life.

"Never." A simple response to a simple question. Titania's hopes were indeed there with reconciliation...
It was hard to tell if Mae actually believed -those- words specifically. In fact, she sort of felt really faint when Tawna asked that damn question. What did she want to be? That usually meant she was seeing something. Or hearing something.
Or two things.
Be better than me. Please.
Would you like to know something? I'm tired of being a monster.
It was at that moment that Mae snapped back to reality. The now. Rather than what was to...No. What could be. "Rasielmon...I'll need to look into that later. For now? I'd...put my answer as anything but this, I guess. It's little more than a bad omen. If you and Haru want to believe in that...Well...I'm...not able to stop you." She sounded almost...loathsome towards something. Herself, maybe. Titania was about to interject when both fairy and cat heard something from the other room. "...Well, I didn't predict or hear anything like that..." Mae found herself mumbling. They were also liable to see if anything busted out of that room.

"Haru, please... I can't talk with you like this!"
It was clear that Haru had 'fallen off the deep end' here. The news of her new body, of her new life, had ticked off something fierce in her head, something that shook her to the very core. Her questions shot out like sharp knives, showing just how hurt she was.
'How do you know I'm her? "B-because you are! You're you, Haru!" Honestly, the Mikemon sounded desperate in his own tone. In the deepest parts of his mind, he couldn't deny this Meicoomon's existence - that of a previously born Meicoomon, with Haru's personality forced to the forefront. As for who did this to her?
Mikemon couldn't even answer. The bright light surrounding the Salamon's frame took the cat by surprise... as the very scared Meicoomon took its place. She was upset, she was scared - and she ran for dear life, bolting right past the doctor!
"Shit! Haru, wait!" Pivoting on his heel, Mikemon tore after the Meicoomon, the light of Digivolution surrounding his own frame as well. The doctor wasn't taking any risk: taking the form of the ultimate level, Beastmon, the taller-and-faster feline would chase right after, quickly cutting the distance between the two. Should she catch up, the Beastmon would simply try and snap her hands around the new Meicoomon's form, to pluck her up and hold her in place!

Tawna didn't like the vibe that this Meicoomon had... Not because they were hostile, but because it was like a mirror. A mirror that reflected the suffering of her kind... Suffering that she was perhaps partially at fault of causing. They reminded her of herself in her darkest moment of despair, alone in that cold mountain dying. Mae's self-loathing was a bitter reminder of that, causing Tawna to wince slightly. "You should put more faith into yourself." they gently spoke, though flinched as they heard a loud banging.
The hell?
Tawna only saw a brief image of something orange run through one of the nearby hallways as a larger inidivdual was in hot pursuit. It was not easy to catch, but Tawna's mind filled in the blanks as fear took hold... She soon getting to all fours as she began to try and run... Run as fast as she ever could. "MIKEMON!" they screeched with a voice of desperation... their mind having a field day thinking up of worst case scenarios.
Haru had to run. She didn't want to run, but her body was telling her to. She didn't feel safe here. This was the Library. That was Mikemon. This should have been a safe place, yet her heart was screeching at her to run. And run she did. She didn't want to look back... She knew Mikemon would run after her. Tears were in her eyes knowing this, and hearing him call out to her hurt even more.
... Or at least, it was a him. She felt a light shine behind her, causing the desperately fleeing Meicoomon to turn her head slightly.
That was her mistake.
The Beastmon's greater speed, strength and longer arms made it MUCH easier to snag the Champion level... and it was practically child's play keeping them from being able to move as well. Haru of course reacted like anyone scared out of their mind would... Yell and struggle. "NO! Let me go! LET ME GO!" the Meicoomon screeched while hyper-ventilating, her eyes briefly shifting from blue to red... but only for a split second in intervals.

Mae had something to say about that, but unfortunately there was going to be no time to hear it as the loud banging led to something orange running out into the hallway. And something else was gonna give chase. One thing was the Meicoomon. She had different eyes than Mae and Tawna had. The other was...A digivolving Mikemon. Beastmon. Titania saw this and was about to give chase before she paused. Oh god, that was Haru?
She actually was still sort of frozen in shock. Mae, on the other hand, was very...clueless as to what to do here. This was only going to get worse but how could she intervene? Everyone here was actually far stronger than her...

Mikemon barely registered Tawna's screech in the background - right now, this pursuit was far more important. If Haru got away, if she somehow got out of the library like this, the poor girl had no real way to defend herself. She had just tapped into this form, after all, and it wasn't even clear if she had any way to know how to use it!
Fortunately, Haru wouldn't get far. The taller, stronger Beastmon plucked the Meicoomon right off the ground. And even as Haru screamed and squirmed, like a cat that simply didn't want to be held, the doctor kept calm. One arm wrapped around Haru's back, while the other cupped the back of her head, keeping the Meicoomon held close and secure. As Haru protested, the Beastmon shook her head. "Shh... its going to be okay, alright? I just need you to calm down... we can talk this through. We can talk this through.."
Keeping their grip like this on Haru, the Beastmon's ear gave a twitch, as Tawna approached the scene. "See? Tawna's here as well. You're fine, you're safe, alright?" At that, though, the doctor's attention flickered over towards Tawna. "Sorry, she had a little more data in reserve than I had estimated. Help me talk her down, please? We, um, don't want her getting away from the Library..."
